Jon Matteson does not get enough credit for his physical acting skills. In the "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" number when he "levitates" and then crashes to the ground? And in "Let It Out"? He fucking SELLS the emotional impact of those scenes and I'm tired of pretending that he is not one of the best things to happen to modern Starkid. Mariah and Angela definitely deserve their due, but my man is KILLING IT OUT HERE

this first video on Jon Matteson's tiktok is of him doing the WAP, and while that is surprising, what's more surprising is every comment under that video is some variation of "I don't remember this part of tgwdlm."
tf do you mean you don't remember???
it was a pretty significant detail

"The Charlotte you knew and loved was gone the minute a note came out of her mouth."
and this "NEVER!" seals the moment Paul is lost to the hive. His first note.

Ted’s “and we wanna hear about it” right before Let it Out tickles my brain so much I don’t know why but it’s my favorite thing

Dear Jonathan,
Let it all out, buddy.
Don't let him gaslight you, this man sounds seriously unhinged. He has crossed so many lines with you, just in this update alone. He has no right to decide if you are allowed to shave, to steal your things, or to lock you in. You are not paranoid, this guy is fucking nuts. I can see why everyone in town was worried for you.
Don't lose hope. You can escape. I believe in you. Keep your wits. Don't show your hand. You've got this.
When you get out of there, we'll go get you a nice clean shave, if you like.
Your Friend,
SR
P.S. What a classist dick that guy is. "What good are peasants without a leader?" go fuck yourself. "Brain and heart" aren't fucking dependent on having money. What a myopic, imperialist douche-bag.

I'm anticipating this with the same energy that swifties anticipate vault tracks. Anyway can't wait for Let It Out (Jon's Version)

Ok so you know how all the Hatchetfeild shows share leitmotifs? Well I was re-watching The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals and I noticed an incredibly subtle one that I haven't seen anyone talk about.
from 23:33 to 24:43 when Charlotte is talking about Sam and his singing in the shower, if you pay close attention to the music playing while she's talking, you can hear the chord progression from let it out. seriously, go and watch that segment, it's in the chapter with the song "what do you want Paul?"
I might end up making this a thread with all the leitmotifs gone un-noticed in the Hatchetfeild series, so keep your eyes peeled! And don't forget to think about the implications (of these leitmotifs)
