Clem "I've known plenty of demons who got married because of a spell but their relationships worked out. Or one killed the other one. In season 3 Spike awkwardly cried on Willow's shoulder because Drusilla broke up with him

In season 6 Clem asked Spike if the Slayer broke up with him again while standing on the other side of the room

Conclusion: At some point Spike cried on Clem's shoulder because of the Buffy drama and it was so awkward that Clem didn't want to get near him if he was going through another break-up
