here's the thing: amy pond also had abandonment issues, but you really felt that. it made her kind of an asshole sometimes, you know? it made her kiss another man the night before her wedding. and that gave her flavour. with ruby, it's like...... ok she's scared people will leave her, but how does that affect her really? because she seems quite happy and bubbly most of the time
