If you’re learning a language, learn the International Phonetic Alphabet. Yes it’s not perfect, but it’s much better than “English-y” pronunciation guides, and works for every language.
#yes!!!!!!#IPA is not perfect and there are. variations in how specific sounds are supposed to sound (thats what all those extra symbols are for ig)#but still I find IPA super helpful to know *how* a sound is *produced* (not just a reference for what the sound is supposed to sound like)
