This story comes from an extremely hot day, and watching some children get excited when an ice cream truck drove pass. -Mj
Caretaker had talked Whumpee into going out on the front porch to soak in the beautiful day with them.
"This should feel really good not to be cooped up inside all day", Caretaker smiled as they set down two cups of lemonade.
Whumpee weakly nodded, "thankyou", they whispered, "I didn't get to go outside often while with Whumper, but I'm still nervous to be out here. You're sure they're in jail?"
"Yes, of course Whumpee. They are in jail, and you are safe", Caretaker assured.
Whumpee nodded again before reaching a shaky hand for the lemonade.
An ice cream truck started to sing at the end of the road. Caretaker and Whumpee watched as several neighbors ran out to buy ice cream.
Whumpee smiled weakly, "I remember being younger and begging my parents for ice cream. They would often say no, but on occasion I'd get a special treat."
Caretaker stood with a grin and made their way off of the porch and to the end of the driveway. They couldn't go far away from Whumpee due to the protection orders in Whumpee's care.
Whumpee watched timidly, wondering what Caretaker was up to.
After a few minutes Caretaker walked back with two ice creams from the truck.
They had a smug grin as they handed one to Whumpee and sat down with the other.
"You didn't have to do that", Whumpee blushed with embarrassment.
"I know, but you deserved a treat", Caretaker started to open the package, "I think these are my favorites from the ice cream truck, that's why I picked them. Maybe next time we get an ice cream, you'll have enough strength to go pick what you want."
"Thankyou so much", Whumpee smiled as they looked at the package again, "I really appreciate you getting me this."
"You're welcome Whumpee", Caretaker started to eat their ice cream.
Whumpee's shaky fingers fidgetted with the package for a few seconds before they managed to open it. Then, ever so cautiously started to eat the ice cream.
After a few moments Caretaker glanced over at Whumpee to watch them.
Whumpee gave a big smile to Caretaker.
"How does it taste?", Caretaker smiled back.
"This is so good", Whumpee looked over the treat, "thankyou so much Caretaker."
"You're welcome Whumpee, we will definitely do this again if you like."
"Yes please", Whumpee smiled before taking another bite of the ice cream, "I would really like this again."

Aww, I love a recovering Whumpee who still has uncertainty.
Content: Past drugging, PTSD/trauma.
"I made you some tea," Caretaker murmured as they carefully placed the glass in Whumpee's hands. The whumpee immediately lifted it to their nose to sniff it, before eying the drink suspiciously. "Whumpee? What's going on?"
"You didn't, uhm-" They paused, blinking a few times as their hands began to lightly tremble. "I, uhm... I know you wouldn't, b-but uh- you didn't p-put anything in this, did you? Like a, uh- a drug or something?"
Caretaker tilted their head, frowning. "Absolutely not. Is... is that something Whumper used to do?"
Whumpee nodded. Their eyes felt wet.
"Wh-when I was bad or, uhm- refused to do something they wanted, they'd slip a sedative into my drink. S-sometimes so much that I would pass out, 'n other times just enough that I couldn't fight back while they did what they n-needed to do." They sucked in a breath, head now hanging low.
Eventually, they looked up through teary eyes, shakily holding out the drink towards Caretaker. "C-could you take a sip before I drink it? Just so I know Its okay? I'm- I'm sorry."
Caretaker didn't hesitate to take it from them. "'course I can, Whumpee. You're okay."

Thankyou @sunglasses-in-the-bentley
What would one of my OCs keep in their school bag. Name 5 things.
I was deciding between Aramais and Cass, but I'm going with Aramais because he's my baby. Yes, I need to get back to posting more on SP Special Containment, I have been very dissociated lately, which is the reason for the lack of stories. All my energy is being zapped. Sorry I'm rambling.
What 5 things is always kept in Aramais's bag.
1. Protein bar.... peanut butter flavor.
2. A small weapon of some sort.
3. A book
4. Water bottle
5. First Aid kit
Consider yourself tagged if you want to tell us what your oc has in their school bag.
OC TAG GAME
I see a lot of stuff asking questions about people’s OCs, but no one ever asks the real question: what would they keep in their school bag?
Rules: Name five things your OC would have in a backpack or any bag at school.
I’ll go first since I made this, and I’ll use Thea.
Screwdriver.
Paper. Lots of spare paper.
Assorted pencils, mostly charcoal and one carpentry pencil.
Flashlight/Torch.
Engineering book.

Whumper led Leader through the dungeon halls.
"I can't believe I have the great Leader in my possession. You're here, shackled at the end of my chain", Whumper grinned enthusiastically, "I'm just such a fan of yours. I truly wish we weren't enemies."
"I won't be here long, my team is probably already on the way", Leader looked at them angrily, "I'm only doing this willingly because of my injuries you've caused."
Whumper frowned, and gave a harsh pull to the chain they were leading Leader with.
Leader stumbled forward and dropped to their knees.
"Knock it off", Leader yelled as they tried to stand up again.
"Keep yelling, it goes well with the back ground noise... don't you agree?", Whumper chuckled.
Leader took in the sounds of screams coming from different parts of the dungeon.
"No", Leader watched Whumper start walking and jerked the chain back.
Whumper lost grip of the chain for a second before grabbing it again.
"Okay, you know what?", Whumper frowned as they pulled out a short whip and hit Leader, "behave."
Leader groaned from the impact.
Whumper stopped in front of a cell.
"I'm afraid I don't have any free rooms. Had I known I'd have such an honored guest I would have prepared", Whumper slammed the door open, "for right now, I'm rooming you with Whumpee. I hope you don't mind."
Leader allowed Whumper to lead them into the room and chain them to a length of chain welded to the floor.
Leader eyed a dirty, bloody person curled up on the floor.
"Are they even alive?", Leader watched for movement.
"They were this morning before their beating", Whumper went and grabbed a fistful of hair.
"Yoo-hoo, Whumpee.... you here still?"
The person winced as their head was forced up.
"Yes they're alive... good, I'd hate to see my favorite play thing dead", Whumper chuckled, then looked at Leader.
"If they get to be annoying just tell them to shut up... call a guard if they don't listen. Guards will straighten them right out."
Leader frowned as they watched Whumper leave.
They glanced over at the beaten human, and caught a single eye poking out from under their arms. They quickly buried their face once they were caught.
"Whumpee I presume", Leader sat down.
They cautiously looked up and nodded.
"I'm Leader, I'm glad to meet you", Leader leaned back against the wall.
"Th-thankyou", Whumpee whispered hoarsely, "I hope I won't bother you."
"You won't", Leader smiled, "don't worry."
"Dinner", a guard carried in a flimsy paper plate and handed it to Leader.
Leader looked at the plate and tried to hide their disgust, "Uh, thanks."
The guard went to leave and Leader realized Whumpee hadn't received anything.
"What about them?", Leader called after the guard.
"Trash isn't allowed to eat unless their Master says... if they're lucky Whumper will send them a few table scraps", the guard chuckled before slamming the door.
Whumpee continued to lay down not bothering to look up.
"Whumpee I hate to ask.... how long has it been since you've eaten an actual meal. Not just scraps?", Leader frowned.
Whumpee looked up weakly, "a long time. Honestly I haven't even had scraps for a while either. They get dished out amongst the others being starved. I'm last on the list normally."
"Here eat this", Leader tried to get up and pass the food, "it's not amazing, but it's something at least."
"I can't", Whumpee frowned, "Master will force me to throw it up. They are giving you permission to eat. Many of us prisoners don't get that, enjoy it", Whumpee rested their head on their arms.
Leader's heart sank.
"Can I tell you my dream meal", Whumpee sighed, "I often think about it when I know they're passing food to those allowed to eat. If you don't want to hear it though, I understand."
"No please tell me", Leader insisted, "I don't know if I'll be able to gut this. That might help."
"It's starts with warm freshly baked bread, and soup. I don't care what kind of soup", Whumpee looked up at Leader then at the floor, "I could eat so many different things right now. I remember the team I was with would have pizza every Monday. It was great. I think pizza and salad would follow the soup and bread. Dessert, hmm. A birthday cake, I've missed so many birthdays being here, it's just sounds so good."
Leader watched as Whumpee came to life. This was the most they had said since Leader was brought in there.
"That all sounds delicious... definitely better than this", Leader frowned.
After a few minutes of silence Leader looked at Whumpee who seemed to still be thinking about food.
"You said you belonged to a team?", Leader tried to take another bite, "I can't eat this."
"Yes, we were captured together by Whumper. They managed to break out, but said I'd slow them down because I was injured. I was left behind. I've received multiple beatings on their behalf", Whumpee looked down, "it's hard... I understand that I was the weakest one and injured. I wasn't important and I accepted that. Still I wish to have seen at least a glimmer of sorrow as they slipped out."
Leader stared sadly, "I am truly sorry that your team did that. I lead a team, and I don't think I could ever leave one of my people. We either all get out or not at all. I'm supposed to take care of them, that's why I was made Leader."
"I wish I could have been in your team then", Whumpee sighed, "you are so nice to me. My team was never like that."
"I'm sorry Whumpee", Leader frowned, "I truly am. No one deserves any of this."
During the night, Leader could hear muffled crying in the room.
Leader unfortunately also heard Whumpee's stomach growling. No one had come into the room after Leader was given food. Whumpee wasn't given any scraps, and they were to afraid to eat from Leader's food.
In the morning, Whumpee woke up to the sound of chains clanking around.
They looked up to see Leader studying the shackles.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. I'm trying to see how easy this would be to pick", Leader smiled sheepishly, "one of my teammates is really good at picking locks. I'm hoping they will be able to get these undone."
"Do you think they will be coming for you?", Whumpee questioned curiously.
"I hope so, Caretaker and I have a rematch coming up", Leader continued to smile, "though I guess they win by default if I'm here."
The door opened and Whumper came in.
"How did my favorite prisoners sleep last night?", Whumper grinned, "I slept like a baby in my bed."
Whumper menacingly approached Whumpee, "you're not being annoying are you? They are an honored guest."
Whumper kicked Whumpee's side harshly.
Whumpee screamed and cowarded away.
Leader watched in horror.
"Please Master, your slave is being good... I-I'm a good slave", Whumpee cried.
"Stop it", Leader quickly stood.
"What are you going to do about it", Whumper turned and slapped Leader across the face, "you have no power in here."
Whumper shook their head at both of them, "see if either of you receive any food for the next few days", Whumper turned to leave, "we'll see how we are feeling after that."
Whumpee winced as they laid back down.
"Are you okay?", Leader tried to get closer, but was limited by the chains.
Whumpee moved in a way that revealed one of their legs had been amputated at the knee.
"I-I'm okay, are you? You shouldn't have done that, I'm not worth it, now you're in trouble", Whumpee looked down.
"It's okay Whumpee, do not worry about me", Leader sighed, "can I ask what happened to your leg?"
"Do you... do you remember what I said about being injured and my team leaving me. I had gotten badly injured while being captured. I couldn't walk well. After a while, it had gotten infected. Master enjoyed hurting me so much, they decided to amputate me, and help fight the infection. It's healed now... this was a few years ago."
Whumpee moved their leg around to show it more, "it's gross looking, the person who did it was not a doctor, but it healed so that's good. I'd rather have died though."
Into the afternoon a loud explosion made both Whumpee and Leader jump.
Whumpee looked at Leader with concern, "what was that?"
"If I'm not mistaken that was a good sign", Leader grinned, "that sounds like an explosion from Tunnel Rat."
"Tunnel Rat?", Whumpee questioned.
"My explosion expert", Leader got up and tried to look out the window, "they're here."
Whumpee looked down sadly, "that's good."
After about an hour, the door was thrown open.
A gun was pointed in, then two people walked into the room.
"Leader you've been about a pain to rescue", someone complained.
"Sorry Caretaker, this wasn't exactly planned", Leader sighed.
"We've taken control over the entire hideout. Most of the guards have been destroyed. The one named Whumper has been captured, and we are awaiting your orders."
Leader watched as their shackles were removed, then looked at Whumpee happily.
"There are other prisoners here that need to be rescued. They all require medical attention and need food and water. Some are being starved. Do not rest until everyone is accounted for", Leader stepped toward Whumpee, "this one is coming with me, Caretaker meet our new team member."
Whumpee quickly looked up, "yo-you're not leaving me?"
"No, I'm not leaving you", Leader grinned, "I'm going to need someone to help you out though, I just remembered I am fairly injured myself."
Whumpee lay in a med bay bed. They had just received full medical care and were now resting.
Someone came into the room and smiled at them.
"Hello, I don't know if you'll remember me. I'm Caretaker, I carried you out", they came in and sat down.
"Leader talked about you", Whumpee whispered as they tried to sit up.
"I'm going to serve you some broth, I'm waiting for it to warm up. Leader has told me about the meal you want to eat", Caretaker smiled, "I take care of the medical needs of the team by the way."
"Yes", Whumpee nodded.
"We will definitely plan on having that after you get some strength back. We have to let your body get used to food again or you'll get very sick", Caretaker stood, "we will start off slow with the broth and move you to more solid food. After a while we will have fresh baked bread, a delicious soup, pizza, and salad. We will also have some cake. We can have that in celebration of rescuing you prisoners and you joining our team."
Whumpee's smile grew more and more with every word Caretaker said.
"Uhm, is Leader okay. I haven't seen them yet", Whumpee realized.
"Yes, we had to do a tiny surgery on them to fix the injury. Leader is resting now, and will have a full recovery soon", Caretaker went for the door, "I'll be back shortly with the broth, and I'll help you eat."
Two months went by.
Whumpee had to wait a few weeks longer due to a surgery to reamputate their leg. This time, it was done by a real doctor and had healed properly.
"Where are we going Caretaker?", Whumpee looked around the halls as Caretaker pushed their wheelchair.
"It's a surprise", Caretaker chuckled.
Whumpee had almost forgotten about the dream meal they had while in the dungeon.
Leader, Caretaker, and the team made sure Whumpee had all of the best food. Whumpee had settled into the team quite well now. They had even helped several times on different missions.
Caretaker stopped at a room and opened the door.
"It's dark in their", Whumpee whispered.
The light flicked on to reveal the whole team had gathered.
The tables were decorated for a party.
"Surprise", everyone shouted.
"Wow", Whumpee looked around excitedly, "what is all of this?"
"A celebration", Leader walked over smiling and helped Caretaker pull the chair in, "to celebrate our rescue from that place, our recovery, our team. We are so happy to have you as part of our team."
"Really", Whumpee's eyes glistened.
"We don't know why your other team didn't like you. You are awesome on missions and quite skilled", someone called out, "they missed out."
"We have a bit of a spread here", Leader pointed to the table, "you absolutely melted my heart when we were in that dungeon.... remember."
Whumpee nodded.
"I've never forgotten how excited you had gotten when you talked about your dream meal. You came to life.... we had to replicate it", Leader grinned, "of course none of us are bakers, so the bread and cake were made by a bakery."
Whumpee gasped as they remembered and looked over the table.
Sliced breads. Several pots of different soups. Boxes of pizza. Salad. At the end of the table, a giant cake.
"You really did all of this for me?", Whumpee looked at everyone with an air of shame, "I don't deserve this."
"Yes you do", Caretaker chimed in, "we absolutely believe you deserve this."
"We've also decided to have pizza on Mondays from now on", Leader reached for Whumpee, "I know we've already said this dozens of times, but welcome to the team Whumpee, it's an honor."
Whumpee felt tears come to their eyes. They shook as they started to cry.
"Thankyou", Whumpee sobbed, "thankyou so much."
"You're welcome", Leader knelt down in front of Whumpee, holding their hand, "let's get this celebration started."

I love scenes like this.
Stone-Cold
Warnings: captivity, torture, restraints, forced to watch, hurt/comfort
Caretaker sighed as they sat in the dark, cold cellar. They sat stroking Whumpee's hair as Whumpee slept fitfully in their lap. They took care to make sure the chains on their shackles didn't clink with the movement. Whumpee desperately needed sleep and Caretaker would do what they could to make it happen.
The hours of watching Whumper torture Whumpee had been almost more than Caretaker could bear. Almost. But if Whumpee had to endure, they would endure. It was the least they could do. Though it was hard. Quite possibly the hardest thing they had ever done. But they would keep doing it until they could find a way to get Whumpee out of there. One way or another.
"Let me hold you, Whumpee," Caretaker had whispered to Whumpee as Whumper shoved them off the torture table. They had held their arms open to Whumpee as Whumpee crawled towards them, sobbing with each movement. "Shhhh, shhhh, I've got you. You're safe here, Whumpee, I've got you," Caretaker said as they wrapped their arms around Whumpee.
Whumpee sobbed wordlessly as Caretaker held them. Held them and rubbed soothing circles on their back. Held them and murmured comforting words in their ear. Held them because that was the only thing that could be done.
Once Whumpee fell asleep, Caretaker allowed the tears they had been holding back free. They sobbed as they sat there in the stone cold dark hoping that they could find a way out soon, for Whumpee's sake.

I did something extra special for my birthday, I just turned 28.... I'm getting old. Anywhoo, I went to an aquarium today and had so much fun.
Warning: mentions one main character with terminal illness, innuendo that said character is dying. Character death at end. I almost started crying writing this. I need to stop doing this to myself.... this was supposed to be happy. 😤
Whumpee watched some fish swim in a small pool.
Caretaker stood at the counter, purchasing tickets for them both.
"Is there any issues a wheelchair user should be concerned with?", Caretaker asked the cashier.
"Not really. Our facility is wheelchair friendly, except around the shipwreck area. Some of the wooden boards may be a little harder to get through", the cashier frowned, "I apologize."
"Not a problem", Caretaker smiled, "thankyou for your help and letting me know."
Caretaker walked over to Whumpee's wheelchair.
"Are you ready to go inside?", Caretaker smiled at Whumpee.
Whumpee excitedly nodded.
Caretaker saw that Whumpee's oxygen line was crooked.
"Please don't play with your oxygen line Whumpee", Caretaker adjusted it.
"Sorry, my cheek was itchy", Whumpee giggled, "I tried to fix it."
Caretaker looked over Whumpee.
Even in the warm summer heat, Whumpee was dressed in thick pants and a cozy cardigan. Their illnesses made them look like a skeleton of a person.
"Alright here we go", Caretaker unlocked the chair.
Whumpee was instantly amazed by the first room.
"Wow this is amazing", Whumpee awed.
"Look up Whumpee", Caretaker pointed.
Whumpee looked up.
A giant skeleton hung overhead.
"What is that from?", Whumpee looked back at Caretaker.
"I believe a whale or something along that line", Caretaker winked.
Whumpee nodded.
The next room was a tunnel, all sorts of fish swam along the sides and overhead.
"I can't believe I almost left this life without seeing an aquarium", Whumpee's head swiveled as they tried to see every fish they could.
Caretaker felt their heart sink.
"I know Whumpee, we will get as many adventures in before your body gives out on you", Caretaker gently rubbed Whumpee's shoulder.
Caretaker's mind drifted to their last doctor's appointment. The news wasn't great, Whumpee's illness they had been battling had turned terminal.
"Caretaker look at the shark", Whumpee pulled Caretaker from their thoughts.
"Whumpee, there's a bathroom up here, I'm gonna pop in there really quick", Caretaker turned the chair, "do you need anything?"
"Can I have my water before you go in?" Whumpee smiled, "I think I'm okay."
Caretaker handed them their water before going into the bathroom.
Whumpee had only taken a few sips when the water suddenly went down the wrong way.
Caretaker heard Whumpee start coughing and rushed to finish.
Whumpee had managed to catch their breath. They looked for their water bottle, and realized it was on the floor.
"Crap", they sighed.
Someone came by and saw Whumpee's struggle.
"Here let me get that for you", they bent and picked it up.
"Thankyou so much", Whumpee grinned.
"Are you okay. I heard you cough. It sounded pretty bad", the person questioned, "I'm a nurse, I don't mind."
Caretaker hurried out of the bathroom, "oh thank goodness", they breathed a sigh of relief, "can't leave you alone for a minute can I?"
"Water went down the wrong way", Whumpee whispered hoarsely, "they helped me pick up my bottle", Whumpee reached up to their nose, "I think I got a nose bleed from that though."
"Yep that is easy to do with your oxygen drying you out", Caretaker hurried to their bag and started pulling things out.
"Would you like some help? I'm a nurse", the person offered again.
"I appreciate it, but I think I have everything I need", Caretaker smiled, "thankyou for helping them also, I really appreciate it."
"Of course", the person turned, "I hope you feel better soon."
"Thankyou", Whumpee grinned.
Caretaker pushed Whumpee to an empty bench and set to work.
They squirted on some hand sanitizer, before sliding gloves on and sanitizing the gloves. Caretaker gently removed the oxygen chord and handed it to Whumpee.
"Hold that to your nose while I clean you up", Caretaker sighed as they pulled out some tissue.
"Not too bad Whumpee", Caretaker grinned as they finished up with the bloody nose, "you should be good to go."
"Can we sit here for a little while? These fish look cool", Whumpee looked around, then let Caretaker replace the oxygen.
Caretaker packed the care bag up then pushed Whumpee to get closer to watch the fish.
"I'll be back on that bench if you need me, just let me know when you're ready", Caretaker patted their shoulder, "don't hurry though, just enjoy this."
Caretaker quietly watched Whumpee, who was giggling at the fish. They saw the stranger from earlier in the corner of their eye.
"May I?", the nurse questioned.
"Yes absolutely", Caretaker scooted over a little.
"I know you probably can't talk much about it, but are they okay?", the nurse pointed at Whumpee, "I know it's none of my business, but they've been on my mind since I saw them earlier while you were buying the tickets."
Caretaker glanced at Whumpee before turning to the nurse, "they have been fighting an illness for a long time. Unfortunately, we just found out it is terminal", Caretaker sighed, "they don't have much longer unfortunately."
The nurse looked at Whumpee sadly, then at Caretaker.
"We are doing different adventures. As much as their body will allow at least", Caretaker sighed, "they've never been to an aquarium, so this is what we decided on today."
"Will you both be okay?", the nurse fought tears from falling. This wasn't the time for them to cry.
"We are both living each day like its their last. We are both scared for that day, but I am also scared for the next days to follow. I uh, I don't want to be alone, I don't want my dear friend to leave me. I know that sounds horrible of me. Because I don't want them to be in pain any longer. They don't deserve this. They are the kindest human you could have ever known. So full of life", Caretaker wiped away a tear, "I apologize for saying all of this to a complete stranger."
"It's okay, it's not easy to be someone's caregiver. You take on so many responsibilities, and often don't get to talk about your needs", the nurse patted Caretaker's hand, "you are doing amazing things for them though. I'm glad they have a friend like you."
Whumpee watched the fish. They didn't let on to the fact they could hear the whole conversation.
That night, Whumpee lay in bed and watched Caretaker get their monitors set up for the night.
"Caretaker?", Whumpee whispered.
"Yes Whumpee?", Caretaker looked at them with concern, "are you uncomfortable?"
"I heard your conversation earlier with the nurse", Whumpee whimpered.
"Oh you did?", Caretaker sighed, "I'm sorry."
"I-I'm sorry Caretaker, I know this has been hard on you. I'm sorry that you have to watch me die in front of you", Whumpee was almost crying.
Caretaker knelt down, "Whumpee I don't.... Whumpee I get to take care of you. It's hard yes, but I couldn't imagine letting someone else do it. It's not a chore to take care of you... I hope you know that."
Whumpee nodded, "I'm sorry still that you have to do this..... I-I don't want to die.. I don't want to leave you either", Caretaker wiped away tears from Whumpee as they spoke.
Caretaker then wiped their own tears, "it's okay Whumpee, "I know", they forced a smile, "what should we do tomorrow? Hmmm, no more talk about dying."
The night nurse came into Whumpee's bedroom and started getting ready to watch over them.
"Can we go for a walk in the park tomorrow?", Whumpee smiled at their nurse.
"Absolutely", Caretaker nodded and nudged Whumpee's cheek lovingly, "goodnight Whumpee, sleep tight."
Caretaker jumped out of bed when they heard the monitor make the sound no one in that house wanted to hear.
Caretaker raced into Whumpee's room and saw the nurse trying to get Whumpee back.
Caretaker went to Whumpee's side and grabbed Whumpee's hand.
"Whumpee come on", Caretaker cried as they buried their face into the thin hand, "we need to go to the park tomorrow."
Their thin hand was already cold.
"They're gone", Caretaker sobbed as they looked at the nurse, "they're gone."
"I'll call the ambulance", the nurse wiped away tears as they left the room.
"Whumpee", Caretaker's voice cracked, "I love you so much Whumpee."
At the hospital, the nurse had started their shift. They still had the conversation with Caretaker fresh on their mind.
Suddenly a gurney was wheeled pass.
The nurse overheard someone saying the person on the gurney needed a pronouncement of death.
The nurses heart sank as Caretaker walked in following the gurney.
Caretaker saw the nurse and nodded as they walked past.
Whumpee was pronounced dead.
Caretaker was given a private room to wait for the paperwork to be finished. They hadn't collected Whumpee yet, so Caretaker sat beside the bed and gently held Whumpee's hand.
The nurse came in in time to see Caretaker wipe their eyes on their sleeve.
Caretaker turned to see them.
"I-I'm sorry", the nurse whispered, "I am so sorry."
Caretaker nodded, "thankyou", their voice stuck in their throat, "I think they knew today was their last day. They didn't want to say it though."
The nurse nodded, "do you have anyone coming up here for you or them?"
"Yes a few friends will be up to mourn with me for a few moments. One of them is the transport for Whumpee's body."
Caretaker sighed, "we already had everything set up for when this happened, Whumpee was happy they got to pick their own casket and funeral playlist. I was always amazed they could find some humor in this."
The nurse nodded as they stepped closer, and patted Caretaker's back.
"I'm going to miss them", Caretaker smiled weakly, "they wanted to go to the park for a walk.... today I guess it's early morning. I haven't even looked at the time yet."
Some people came into the room.
"Hey Caretaker", they greeted then looked at Whumpee.
"I'll leave you to be with your friends and family", the nurse started to go.
"Thankyou for helping them earlier today, and mourning with me", Caretaker gave a small grin, "I really appreciate your caring for them."
"Yes of course", the nurse smiled weakly.
The nurse hurried to their station and started to weep.
They told some of the other nurses what had happened at the aquarium and about the deceased patient.
Friends and family surrounded Caretaker and Whumpee.
After Whumpee was taken, Caretaker decided to walk home... making sure to take a long stroll through the park.
Are you crying yet? For some light heartedness, please scroll down and enjoy some pictures from my aquarium trip.
I will not lie. The Sting Rays and Sharks were my favorite. In the video, see if you can find the sea turtle, I didn't even realize I filmed them until later. There were two sea turtles. They were both rescued and were not able to return to the wild.

I'm about to throw up, the story I was going to post. The one that made me cry while writing it, I just went to save it, and it took forever to save, now I have no idea where that story is. I think Tumblr just deleted it, and I'm about to really cry.

I love vampire stories
Friends and Fangs
“Whumpee, stop! It’s me!”
Caretaker’s words fell on deaf ears as Whumpee lashed out at them again. Their eyes flashed an unnatural red, and their upper canine teeth had sharpened into fangs. They moved with superhuman speed to strike again. Their hand, now clawed, slashed at Caretaker’s side, leaving angry streaks that started dripping red. Caretaker cried out and stumbled back, falling to the floor. Whumpee stared them down hungrily.
“I know you’re still in there,” Caretaker said, panting, “I won’t fight you.”
“I will.”
Caretaker and Whumpee both turned their heads to see Whumper, holding a syringe in their hand. Whumpee stared at them for a moment, then lunged.
“No!” Caretaker shouted.
Whumper and Whumpee ignored them. Caretaker watched helplessly as their two best friends fought each other. Whumpee was strong and fast now, but Whumper was much more experienced. Within seconds, they had Whumpee in a headlock. They jammed the needle into Whumpee’s skin. Whumpee hissed angrily, trying to wriggle out of their friend’s grip.
“We’re gonna help you,” Whumper promised, “until then, I won’t let you hurt anyone.”
Whumpee’s eyes went wide, then fluttered shut. They slumped forward in Whumper’s hold, completely unconscious. Whumper lowered them to the floor, then ran to Caretaker’s side.
“They really got you good, didn’t they?” Whumper asked, examining their wound.
“I don’t understand,” Caretaker said weakly, “they were fine an hour ago, but then they started acting like- like that.”
“When was the last time they fed?” Whumper asked.
“Fed? Whumpee never feeds, I thought that was optional for you guys…”
Whumper cursed. They brought Caretaker over to the couch and fetched a med kit at supernatural speed. They began to clean the wounds Whumpee had left, then started to stitch them up.
“It’s not optional,” Whumper said bitterly, “if a vampire doesn’t feed, their instincts will take over and force them to feed. I thought I made that clear to them when I turned them… this is all my fault.”
“Hey, they were dying,” Caretaker offered, “you did what you had to.”
Whumper didn’t respond. They finished stitching up the wounds, then turned to leave.
“I need to get Whumpee secure,” Whumper said, “you should rest.”
Caretaker nodded. They watched Whumper stride over to Whumpee. They slung them over their shoulder and carried them down to the basement, where silver chains that had long been unused were waiting for them.

Prompt #6
Whumpee was kidnapped to be sold to other Whumpers (maybe this is an au where its commonly accepted to own a whumpee, or maybe it's some kind of trafficking thing).
Caretaker is a part of some kind of team/organization that goes undercover to help people in Whumpee's position. But neither Whumper, nor Whumpee know this.
So when Whumper manhandles Whumpee and basically showcases them to a seemingly apathetic, and possibly slightly harsh Caretaker, is whumpee scared that they might be handed off to a worse Whumper? Are they attached to their Whumper and don't want to be sold period? Are they neutral or even happy because nowhere could possibly be worse then here?
Caretaker maybe tries to mingle the price down just because they only brought so much money with them, but regardless, they don't leave until they have Whumpee.
After they arrive at Caretaker's home or the hospital or wherever they're taking Whumpee, how does Whumpee react when Caretaker's personality completely shifts, and they're now sympathetic, worrying and gently tending to Whumpee and their wounds?

This is so good. I agree.
Living Weapon Whumpee having a bad day after one of the missions and finding the team they're assigned to sitting around and playing cards. Whumpee getting down on their knees next to one of the team members and hesitantly resting their head against the team member's thigh. Whumpee silently begging to be pet like a dog or at least just allowed to say here because they just haven't positive, non-painful human contact in years and they're just... cold.
Bonus points if they choose the member of the team that hates them the worst because that's the one they feel the biggest need to please.

This was so good. I really enjoyed that you continued the story.
@mj-iza-writer , if you are still interested…👉👈
Here’s part 2 for you:
Part 2.
The heavy snow flakes were falling from the rapidly darkening sky, turning into cold mush under the hot tyres of numerous cars and boots of endless pedestrians, all of them rushing somewhere. The glowing outdoor sighs of shops, the traffic lights and the city lights, even the sounds of the city life — everything seemed to turn into one big blur, shrouded with the veil of unreality.
Caretaker raised the collar of their coat higher and cursed quietly, marching on. The damn weather… Their day had been long and tiresome, and they had genuinely hoped for a nice quite evening in their dearest sibling’s cozy flat, however the fate clearly had other plans for them. Of course, Caretaker couldn’t blame Whumpee for ruining their evening, no — the poor thing rarely bothered anyone with their problems, especially when it concerned their health, which means they must be indeed ill (if not on the verge of death); they just… a lot of things happened in a day, and Caretaker was a little bit on edge. That is why they took a few deep breaths as they rounded the corner, and Whumpee’s block of flats appeared in their sight — a sad-looking old grey building, with broken bottles of cheap alcohol scattered nearby the entrance, now half-hidden under the fresh snow and only slightly glistening under the street lamp light. Caretaker could vaguely hear the drunken laughter. Just in case, they put their hand inside the coat’s pocket and felt for their keys, calming down a little bit after touching the metal.
Whumpee lived on the last, fifth floor of the building. Which had been quite a disappointment for Caretaker, taking into consideration the fact that the building did’t have the elevator (although, judging by the general condition of the house, where was quite a possibility of caretaker getting stuck in it, in case there had been one). After finally making it to Whumpee’s flat, Caretaker paused, regaining their breath, before knocking on the door.
A few minutes passed. They knocked again. Then, finally, the old door creaked open, revealing Whumpee leaning heavily against the doorway. Caretaker quickly looked over them, taking in their unnaturally pale and sweaty skin, matted hair, which covered their eyes, chapped lips and their occasional shivering. Such a miserable creature.
“You came…”, Whumpee half-whispered, dry lips stretching into some kind of a relieved smile. They opened their mouth to say something else, but then they suddenly clamped a hand over it, abruptly turned around and made a dash towards the bathroom.
“W-wait!”, surprised, Caretaker ran in the same direction Whumpee did the second they heard unmistakable sounds of gagging. Just as they rounded the corner and entered the cramped bathroom, Caretaker was met with quite an unpleasant sight: Whumpee, slumped over the toilet and clutching the porcelain with whitened knuckles, was heaving and gagging so hard, that even the sound seemed painful. Caretaker grimaced.
“Whumpee—…! U-uh… Do you… Do you need any help? A glass of water, maybe?”, the only answer to Caretaker’s nervous chatter was a hoarse moaning, “O-okay, a glass of water then. I’ll-I’ll be right back. Please don’t die here.”
With that, they quickly left the bathroom and found the kitchen, which didn’t take long: Whumpee’s flat is, after all, quite small. Caretaker glanced over the pile of empty takeaway boxes and cans in the corner as they made their way to the water pitcher. Someone definitely needs to improve their diet. They filled the glass with water from the pincher and, after thinking for a second, grabbed the half full bag of crackers from the cupboard.
When Caretaker returned back to the bathroom, Whumpee was sitting on the edge of the tub with tightly closed eyes. They somehow looked even paler then before, almost reaching a shade of gray. The only thing that indicated that Whumpee was still alive was the slight, uneven rise and fall of their chest.
“Hey,” Caretaker stepped forward and gently brushed Whumpee’s shoulder. Whumpee opened their eyes a little at the touch and looked at the glass of water Caretaker had been offering to them. They took the glass in their shaking hand and slowly (with Caretaker’s help, of course, because they didn’t trust Whumpee to not accidentally spill everything on them) raised it to their lips, taking a few small sips.
A few moments passed in silence, Whumpee drinking and Caretaker supporting the glass.
“I’m cold,” Whumpee suddenly interrupted the silence with their quiet, hoarse voice, startling Caretaker. They put the glass on the tile floor and helped Whumpee up, noticing that, indeed, the latter was shivering slightly.
“We’ll get you to bed, let me just—”, as Caretaker’s and Whumpee’s eyes accidentally met, Caretaker falls silent. Almost half of Whumpee’s left eye was covered in blood. It rimmed their hazel iris, spreading even farther, under their eyelid. Caretaker felt sick.
Whumpee, finally realizing the reason for such a reaction, said, “Oh, you see… I must have broken my blood vessels while vomiting. Er, before you came. It doesn’t hurt, though. It’s okay, don’t worry,” then they thought for a second and added, with a smile in their voice, “I was scared too, when I saw it.”
“Are you sure? This does not look good in the slightest,” Caretaker replied, still staring at them. Even if Whumpee had assured them they felt fine, Caretaker still made a mental note to suggest a visit to a doctor later.
Whumpee nodded and wrapped their hands around themselves, feeling that their teeth are starting to chatter, “Caretaker, I’m so cold. Please. Bed.”
“Oh, right, I’m sorry. Here, let me help you,” Caretaker wrapped their arm around Whumpee, supporting their weight, “My, you are shaking like a leaf!”
With that, they made it to Whumpee’s bedroom, Whumpee leaning heavily on Caretaker’s side. They collapsed on their bed, sucking air through their chattering teeth. Oh, how cold they were all of the sudden. Caretaker tucked them in, wrapping the quilt around the shivering lump. They were thinking of making some hot tea for Whumpee, when they suddenly heard a hushed whimper behind them. They whirled around, hand hovering over the trembling blanket.
“Whumpee?”, Caretaker cautiously called, uncertain of what to do. Were they crying? Was it something Caretaker did? Or maybe they felt nauseous again? Gods, what was it? “Whumpee, dear, what is it? Are you hurting?”, ‘well, of course they are hurting, you idiot’, Caretaker mentally slapped themselves, realizing what they had just said, ‘they’ve been puking their guts out ten minutes ago’. Receiving no answer, Caretaker tentatively touched the shuddering blanket lump. Whumpee didn’t push them away, so Caretaker started gently stroking their back
“I just…I don’t feel good…”, Whumpee sobbed. Their face was hidden under all the layers, so the words come out muffled, yet still Caretaker was able to understand them.
“I know, hon, I know,” and Caretaker really did. They had seen people reaching breaking point a few times, be it from either mental or physical strain. It wasn’t surprising for them to witness Whumpee turning into a pitiful mess, considering what they were going through. Yet, Caretaker’s heart broke with each new sob. Ah, if only they knew the way to make Whumpee feel better. It then suddenly occurred to Caretaker, that they hadn’t even asked Whumpee about the possible cause of their condition; it didn’t look like a regular food poisoning, nor did it look like a disease. Caretaker suspected it could be some kind of substance poisoning, but they were sure Whumpee is not a drug addict.
They glanced around the room, and a small empty bottle, caught their eye. What if…
“Hey, honey,” Caretaker softly called Whumpee, still stroking their back, “Have you been, by chance, taking any medication recently?”
Whumpee, not expecting a question, calmed down a little and peeked out from the blanket, “I-I did. From the cold. Why?”
Ah, then everything makes sense. “I just thought that you might be having an adverse reaction to it”, Caretaker replied.
Whumpee pulled the covers away from their face and looked at Caretaker, two bloodshot hazel eyes meeting two grey ones, “You know, I’ve been thinking the same. It doesn’t really help though. I mean, there’s nothing to speed up the process of… er… processing the medicine.”
“You are right,” Caretaker sighed, then looked at Whumpee and grinned, “You are well enough to talk now, as I can see. This is good. By the way, how about a nice cup of tea? You look like you could use something warm.”
Whumpee returned the smile, “Yeah, sounds good.”
***
Empty tea cups rested on the bedroom floor, next to the place with half-eaten bag of crackers. Whumpee snuggled closer to Caretaker, who in turn wrapped an arm around the other, letting them get even more comfortable. Whumpee was still occasionally shivering, though not as much as before, of course. They even managed to eat a few crackers and drink a whole cup of warm herbal tea Caretaker had made for them. Even their headache subsided a little. All in all, Whumpee was feeling better. For now.
“Caretaker?”
“Hm?”
“I was thinking…”, Whumpee paused, as if searching for right words, “I was thinking… if you could stay with me tonight. Please? I just don’t really wanna be alone.”
Caretaker turned their head to look at Whumpee and smiled fondly, “Of course I’ll stay. I wasn’t planning on leaving you in this state. I don’t really trust you to take care of yourself, considering the diet you’ve been on recently.”
“Oh, no lectures now,” Whumpee jokingly pushed Caretaker away. Then they added, more quietly, a bit of colour paining their pale cheeks, “And thank you. For staying. I appreciate it.”

I wrote something that made me cry, now I get to make everyone else cry... hahahaha!
Seriously though, I was near tears, and had to stop. It wasn't even meant to be sad. Blame the characters, not me.
Hopefully I'll have it up later today or tomorrow. Sorry for the lack of content. Been busy.

Content: Rescue, recovery, touch starvation.
"This isn't real."
Caretaker frowned. Whumpee had been so excited to see them just mere hours ago. Now, they sat curled up on the floor with a blanket wrapped around their shoulders, pressed up against the corner of the room in an attempt to escape them.
"What isn't real?"
"Everything," they breathed in response. "None of this is real. It- it can't be, right? I'm gonna wake up soon. I have to."
Tentatively, Caretaker took a few steps forward before crouching down in an attempt to appear less intimidating. They knew that trying to convince them that this was real would be impossible. So, they considered the next best option.
"What can I do to make you feel more comfortable, Whumpee?"
There was a short pause as the small being struggled to come up with a response. "Can I-" They cut themselves off with a sob. "Can I touch you? Please? I miss you so- so much."
Caretaker immediately sat down on the floor, ignoring the weight in their chest as they held out their arms for them. "Of course you can. I've missed you, too."
They almost couldn't bare to move as Whumpee reached out to touch the palm of their hand. It felt as though they were coaxing a frightened animal out of hiding.
As soon as they felt Caretaker's skin against their own, they let out another small sob and pulled their hand to their cheek. Every part of them trembled, as if frightened that it would all go away.
With a gentle smile, Caretaker held the side of Whumpee's face in their hand, stroking their cheek with their thumb as they held onto them. "See? I'm here, and I'm real. You're home."
"I'm ho-ome," they whispered, as if trying to convince themself of it. Then, without a second thought, they practically threw themselves into Caretaker's arms, pressing themself as close as they possible could. "I'm home."
