One of the Bell P-59 Airacomet "donated to the Technical Institute of the College of William & Mary - Norfolk Division by the US Navy. It was given to the Norfolk, Virginia school for students to study aeronautical design and mechanics. James Moxley is in the cockpit while (left to right) W. L. The crew of Skylab II deployed a collapsible parasol through the small scientific airlock to act as a sunshade. The micrometeorite shield was sheared off during the launch and with it the protection from the sun.

"On May 30, 2020 the Crew Dragon Demo-2 mission was launched carrying NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken to the International Space Station. The rocket and spacecraft were all developed and manufactured by SpaceX. Launching from American soil with American spacecraft it was the first mission to fly as such in 9 years since the Space Shuttle was retired. The SpaceX flight hardware is completely re-usable and equipped with state of the art technology. It marks a new era in American space exploration.
