I'm still not over how sad Sonic looked when he realized he and Elise wouldn't remember eachother 😭
His expression is subtle, but you can still tell how upset by this he is. His eyes are glossy and, and his brow is moving slightly. It's almost as if he wanted to shed a tear, but he was staying strong for Elise.
Also how the first thing Sonic does when Elise breaks down is reach a hand out to her for comfort
But then he lets her cry, realizing she needs to let her emotions out.
Even before Elise blows out the flame, you see Sonic look solemnly at her for a few seconds. He doesn't want to see her go. It's almost as if he's hesitating a bit before giving her the ok, wanting to see her smile one last time before she blows it out.
I just... love this scene a lot 🥲
