Yesterday i went to a nature museum because they had a little drawing course for free for anyone stopping by. We essentially had life drawing but used taxidermied animals from all the amazing dioramas they had. It was such a nice experience, i got to meet new people and get out of the house for a few hours. It felt like pre-pandemic. Im totally gonna visit the place again ❤️

We are doing some sort of self-leadership course at my job rn. And ngl, for some years now i believed that my adhd had like… improved you know? Because i am pretty ok at my job wrt focus and paying attention. Because i rly enjoy my job.

But this course we are taking is literally just reverting me back to my unmedicated elementary school self. Im trying so hard to read the digital material and it just does not fkn stick. I havent needed to re-read a text over and over like this for a decade.

I rly dont like the course because it is very… neurotypically self-help-vague-ass-live-laugh-love-esque. It has that “if you feel stressed, try hydrating yourself and do some breathing !”The text does contain some interesting and useful information but 62% of the rest is just buzzwords and filler text and SO MANY “according to research” with ZERO SOURCES. And i just got so peeved at how the digital course was written that i just can NOT absorb and remember most of it. Like its as if my adhd just went “we do not need this :)” and it was just so unexpectedly difficult to get through the material.

Like if anything i have learned from this, is that if im in a work environment that suits me, my adhd does get a bit more cooperative. Like if i had to work w smth like this course as a job i would like. I would scream. I would scream and then quit.

Jack dorsey leaving bluesky and me also seeing the rest of the devs not share his uhh “vision” legit made that platform 1000x more appealing to me. Like at this point i judge a social media platform a lot just from how their ceo behaves. Its pretty obvious how musk have influenced other social media higher ups/ceo/etc to believe they can do whatever tf they want. The bar is so low for me rn that if the owner of a corporation acts like a normal ass person it feels like finding water in a wasteland.

yesterday i did the biggest find in my life. The antique store close to where i live happened to have an easel for sale. Its one of those professional big ass ones with a little compartment for storing paint tubes etc. A brand new of those types of easels can cost up to 1000-2000€.

I got this one for just 150€. I legit cannot believe it.

Its just as tall as my kitchen ceiling 😭

Its probably just a coincidence but whenever i decide to watch one of those “commentary art youtuber” videos where they discuss various art discourse and like EVERY TIME the artist is drawing in krita or medibang. Like why does every video about like some drama always have krita/medibang art timelapse recording lmao

Practicing the fat-over-lean rule of oil paints! Im gonna do more strips like these with other colors i have, i think this might be a helpful guide for me to get better at coverage and flow of my brush strokes.

I first start with applying the ivory black diluted with thinner, then next i use a lighter shade with less thinner. Next i switch the thinner with linseed oil medium and after that i paint the swatch using payne’s gray and titanium white with no thinner no medium. And at the top it’s essentially just titanium white impasto, applied with a palette knife.
