i genuinely need people to understand that the luke + padmé parallels don’t exist simply on a surface level as a way of connecting the two trilogies. luke and padmé are actively playing out the same part in the narrative wrt anakin. so when you interpret padmé as someone who should have tried to kill anakin or their bond is only a shallow infatuation you are misunderstanding the text. anakin believes compassion is unconditional love. luke and padmé are two of the strongest examples of this and it makes sense why anakin would go great lengths for both of them.
