Regular commissions are still open, but from June 1st - June 30th I'm running a sale on my Pride OCs style. This idea was something I originally started for pride month and showcasing some of my lgbtqia+ OCs at the time, so I wanna stick with the tradition, sorta :D

There are 10 slots available throughout the month of June for these at the discounted rate of 65€ instead of 90€. I might not finish all of them in June, but if you secure a slot before June 30th, 11.59 pm, the discounted rate applies.

My usual terms of service apply as well, and you can read up on that, on my do's and don'ts, what references I need, etc. on my commission listing [here].

If you wanna grab a slot, send me an e-mail at elvenbeard@gmail.com (and please include your tumblr handle so I know who to tag when I post the finished piece, as well as your PayPal e-mail address for the invoice).

Please also include 1-2 good reference pics of your OC's face (screenshot/faceclaim/artwork), visual or written reference of their body type, whether or not you have ideas for a pose, visual ref or description of details like tattoos, and what flag(s) you'd like to see in the background!

Why the tiger has become a transgender symbol in Japan

Recently we learned about how some trans folks in Japan like to use tigers as a symbol for the trans community. It's a pun: Tora [虎] is the Japanese word for tiger, and when you sound out "trans" in katakana it basically starts with "tora." To-ra-n-su [トランス].

Toransu is clearly a loan word from English ("trans") that has been adapted to Japanese pronunciation (adding vowels/vowel epenthesis helps you avoid unpronounceable consonant clusters).

I don’t want gay romance options in video games; I want significant gay romance options in video games. 

Romance that transpires social link conversations and is built on more than one-off flirting. Romance between two characters that support one another. Romance that cannot be written out, downplayed, or changed without fundamentally changing the impact of the story. 

I don’t want token lip service written by straight writers to check a box; I want two characters that are deeply important to one another before they start a romance.
