(Also just for the record: there are plenty of characters in my works who I wrote with the intent of them being LGBTQ+, but it never was brought up or even hinted at in the text. I did not include these characters here because I don't want to be one of those authors who is like "um actually Z is gay representation because I said they were gay in a single random Tumblr post instead of in the book itself"/not mean.

*so about Lossless, and a couple things about the and more! in Shadow's Hidden Blade. The world of SHB is very different from our own, and this includes how people understand their genders and sexualities. Lossless, and numerous other characters, deliberately muddy the waters of our perception of gender and sexuality. I have never talked about Lossless's labels in any way because they are deliberately difficult, if not impossible to label-it's essentially up to reader interpretation at this point. I'm including them in this Pride month post because our society would see them as queer. I don't think I articulated this very well but I hope you understand.

Guys. Guys please. We have to remember that protagonist is not a stand in word for hero and antagonist is not a stand in word for villain. Please. We learned this in middle school. The protagonist is the character the audience follows. The antagonist is the character who is working against the protagonist.
