Welcome to DADWC day!! How bout some f!Adaar x Josephine and 'temperance: communication, healing, moderation: “I’m here for you. You can talk to me.” possible AUs/settings/ideas: comfort, deep talks, hugging, woundtending'
Thank you!! And oooh yes this is very good. Using Herah Adaar for this, mage with she/they pronouns. Set post-Inquisition. This is for @dadrunkwriting!
Herah swore very loudly in Qunlat. Well, not quite Qunlat, it was the variety that the Valo-Kas spoke, but it was a swear nonetheless.
Josephine rushed in from her office on hearing the crash and the swear. "Herah? Love?"
"M'fine, Josie. Just…" She gestured to the jar she'd unceremoniously dropped. "Too heavy for one hand."
"Let's clean this up."
Together they collected the spare pieces of ceramic that had smashed and wrapped them in a cloth to be disposed of later. The jam they'd contained was luckily not too difficult to clean up with a bit of magic and a bit of cloth-work.
At the end of it, Herah looked exhausted. Not just tired, but the kind of exhausted one gets when they're not only tired but frustrated with themself above all else. She waved her hand towards Josephine. "You can go back to…what you were doing. Sorry to distract you."
"You are never a bother to me, Herah. Come here."
Unable to resist Josephine's pull, Herah turned to her partner and met her eyes.
Josephine took Herah's face in her hand and cradled it. Reaching up at this angle could be awkward, so it became clear that she had planned this action. Her finger ran over the scar on the tal-vashoth's cheek as she said, "I'm here for you. You can talk to me."
"I'm supposed to be the Inquisitor. Competent." Herah pulled away, instantly regretting the motion. "Now I can't even get jam on my own."
"We knew this would be an adjustment." Josephine tried her best to guide Herah to sit on their nearby lounge, taking place at her side. "You knew it wouldn't be as simple as picking life up where you left off."
"I know." Herah sighed as she sat, unable to look Josephine in the eye. "But I don't like being useless."
Josephine retorted in a much more snappy voice than Herah expected. "You are not useless. Never useless."
"I really shouldn't be so down in the dumps about it, huh?" They laughed, trying to draw something more light out of all they'd said. "It's hard. You know, in the Valo-Kas, you only earn what you can work for. I got as far as I did because of my magic. Iss-"
"You are not only your usefulness, Herah. You are also your kindness. Your generosity. Your foresight. Your quick tongue. Your humor." Josephine had grabbed Herah's hand again, running her fingers over the knuckles. "You are the woman that I love, and a few broken jars will not change that."
"You are a romantic at heart, Josephine Montilyet."
"I am well aware." And they smiled at each other.

Hello!
I'm writing in Spanish because my English is bad! You can use Google translate or ask someone to write it for you (@escritoradeilusiones is the person that got me here so I think she'd be happy! We talk a lot about it)
Hola!
Sorry for the long ask! I hope this isn't too confusing
Screw Tumblr. This is the third attempt at responding to your ask. Let's see if Tumblr will crash again while I write this out. Again.
Have no brain juice to write for a while, but yes, Sung Jinwoo is 100% taking Tywin to modern Earth, if only to get a dentist to check on those teeth. Routine cleaning too. Can't forget about that. Having gum disease or yellow-stained chipped teeth isn't particularly appealing or healthy. If Sung Jinwoo can relieve his friends/lover of tooth pain, he's going to be leaping forward to solve it ASAP!
It would be remiss of any author to not make Sung Jinwoo a walking Santa. The guy can carry EVERYTHING in his portable storage space! Of course he can and should give gifts all the time. It's very Asian of him to do so (ahem kind of socially expected ugh) but also he's so rich that he doesn't know what to do with it all. He's not like Musk rich, but it's still more money than he knows what to do with it. So what better than to spend it (or some of it) on his loved ones?

y'all I'm not fucking ready for this.
How many weeks in a row is this with no DDB sponsor?
Matt is dressed in Ruidus colors. fear
personally? I think it would be very funny if somebody replaced Liam's chair with one that's a foot shorter than everyone else's.
I'm fully expecting Ira to be a Garmellie/Artagan situation. This motherfucker is an archfey slumming it on Exandria and ancient god-killing wizard dilfs are his dive bar of choice.
Ira was around for at least one previous apogee solstice, but he was in the Feywild when it happened so he didn't get to see the true extent of is power.
"What do you think about the gods?" "I don't think about them." good answer, good answer
Aberrations and other "mythological creatures" born on solstices (even normal ones) are particularly powerful.
The circlet prevents Imogen from hearing the thoughts of people around her. It just eliminates that entirely. And with it goes most of the reasons she'd have to side with Ludinus and Otohan. Truly the peak of non-wizard mortal hubris, to consider killing the gods before looking for an item or a spell to solve your problem first
Sending to Keyleth from Imogen: "We're a couple hours out, to the southwest. Are we meeting up? Just going for it? Help?" "I'm gathering those of able-body who recovered from our last endeavor. I'll look for a tree. Let me know when you need the cavalry; our arrival isn't quiet."
"I go over and give Fearne a big hug." "Aww—" "I reach into her pocket." never change, Ashton
A ways out from the crater, the Bells Hells come upon a structure in the storm — the wood and stone wreckage of a skyship that carried a cathedral on it. It's mangled and burned; the brumestone has been scavenged. It looks recent, and the outer hull is covered in mounts for heavy armor, harpoons, and cannons, but it was brought down by battle on the deck, not by massive damage to the outer hull. The iconography indicates that it was from Vasselheim, possibly a Judicator ship.
jesus fucking christ. Matt could not say "DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH CRASHING THE SHIP" any more clearly.
if that dispel pulse is shutting down the automatons briefly, then maybe it's not actually intentional. maybe it's a by-product, an unintended consequence.
it never ceases to amaze me that without fail and across all of his characters, Travis manages to be both the voice of "fuck it we ball" and the person who slows down combat to calm players.
like, does CritRoleStats keep track of how many combat encounters each PC has started? bc Chetney has got to be up there with Imogen this campaign
this battle music has the same opening notes as the 2001 theme and now I can't hear anything else
The spellcaster has a +6 spell attack, but also cast hold person at 5th level and did 15 damage on a fire bolt, so they're most likely 9th level with a +2 spellcasting ability modifier.
Ashton rage build update: 2 on the d4 is the space build (portals!). they took the Crusher feat for their 8th level ASI. also, when the space build is active, they can use portals (either as a bonus action or as a result of hitting a creature or as a result of bringing a creature to 0 hp) to teleport to any space they can see within 30 or 60 feet of them.
As a reminder, shock flare is a reskin of arms of hadar, but it pushes creatures away instead of preventing them from taking reactions and deals lightning damage instead of necrotic.
Tal saying "five foot step" gave me hella flashbacks to Pathfinder 1e
"Well, I don't get to choose, do I? Let's just go with it." god fucking damnit. Ashton's rage abilities and how fucking random they are is so poetically and narratively intwined with the themes of this campaign, it's wild
it will never not amuse me that Matt, without fail, misunderstands the way the command spell works. it's super minor and not a big deal but as someone with a DM who's pretty on-top of it, it's very funny
Imogen gets pulled into a tent by a very quick and quiet force.
"Who are you, and why are you fighting the Vanguard?" "I've got friends coming in. Friends or enemies?" "I asked you first." "The question isn't why! It's 'are you fighting too'?" "Who are you with?" "
oh my god of fucking COURSE there are already infiltrators in here. of course there are. why wouldn't there be? Ryn didn't come here alone.
BEAUREGARD???
BEAUREGARD!!!!
y'all you have no fucking idea how excited I am——
"He can go say hi to the rest of his friends we've put there [in jail]." how fucking many of the Cerberus Assembly are in jail now? we know Trent is in there but who else?
CALEB!!!! blorbo!!!
"So. What's the play here, Beauregard?"
They're both friends to the Verity, and they've worked with Ryn before. They came here with her, trying to do a recon mission before she was taken.
The Children of Malice are a front for the Ruby Vanguard.
Caleb and Beau saw the other skyship go down. It was from Vasselheim. The Vanguard struck the skyship from the sky at Ludinus' request, though Caleb hasn't seen any sign of Ludinus being in the crater for many days. But the perpetual dispel pulse was intentionally installed.
Caleb, Beau, and Ryn were all on the Shadowfell team — they were able to damage the key, but unable to completely destroy it.
Caleb refers to Ludinus as the most powerful of the assembly, "the one who could topple it all" if he goes down. He and Beau came here alone;
The entire site is illusion-proofed, there's a dispel wave every minute. There are also mage-hunter golems here, which we've only ever heard of existing inside the Heirloom Sphere. I am forcibly reminded of the fact that Ludinus Da'leth is aware of the Happy Fun Ball.
"The absolute, absurd amount of muscles she has—" "Like Marisha?" *raised eyebrow* Matthew. (fuckin' simp (affectionate))
Ludinus has been reverse-engineering Aeorian technology and using distilled dunamis energy to power it, with multiple mesh-like power sources. He's "obsessed" with divinity and appears to be "counting on opposition, which makes [Beau] uneasy."
"What's dunabis?" "...there isn't time to lecture. It's a very obtuse form of magic that exists between the fabric of all other forms of power. It's one of the oldest and most fundamental forces within Exandria and beyond. It can alter time, space, probability, entropy — it is dangerous in the wrong hands, and unfortunately, a very strong source of it has been in the hands of Ludinus and the Assembly for some time." The 'very strong source' is presumably the beacon, which Ludinus has had since 835 PD.
The Cobalt Soul has been trying to nail down Ludinus for a long time, but "he's always one step ahead."
Caleb specifically refers to dunamis as chaotic, referencing Ashton.
Ludinus has apparently been doing this outside of the Assembly. Caleb's contact in the Assembly (Astrid, presumably) notes that even the rest of the Assembly is afraid to get involved in Ludinus' plans.
Halas, Trent, and "Bendathar" are in Beau's list of archmages they've fucked up.
Hey! Beau knows the Ashari! that's cool. She also knows Ira and his history of designing the keys.
There are dozens of mirrors and hook-like spires facing toward the key itself. Everything is reinforced with a massive amount of residuum — the device, the walls of the excavation site, and everything beyond. "An all-out assault would be far too dangerous." Caleb gives a sending stone to Chetney, who gives it to Laudna, under the assumption that the groups are going to split up to cover more ground.
given the fact that the solstice didn't actually happen this episode and that the Mighty Nein and the Crown Keepers are now attached to this, I feel like my "PFS2 special scenario" theory has some more merit
Beau disappears, Caleb goes invisible (they both start to circle around), and the Bells Hells start to descend the crater.
also, last minute update: Fearne would have flirted incessantly with both Beau and Caleb.
threads that have connected in this episode:
Missing residuum shipments: the malleus key and its surroundings are reinforced with residuum. that's a massive amount; it's possible that Trent's supply of residuum, the stuff the Nameless Ones stole, and the stuff the Paragon's Call were trafficking were probably all going here.
The Cobalt Soul and the Cerberus Assembly: It takes a long, long time to dismantle political systems. The Cobalt Soul has apparently imprisoned more Assembly members than just Trent.
Out-of-the-blue rolls: Those random rolls Matt had Marisha and Liam make were indeed rolls for the Shadowfell expedition that Beau, Caleb, and Ryn were involved with. They rolled shitty, so the Shadowfell key wasn't entirely destroyed, but was damaged.
#critical role#critical role c3#critical role campaign 3#critical role spoilers#critical role c3 spoilers#note watches c3#drunkposting#(after the break)#yall you have no fukcing idea how excited I am at the fact that Beau and Caleb are back#Matt's voicing of them is so perfect#(I've been rewatching C2 so it's fresh in my mind)#MY BLORBOS#and just to put it out there#because it's Thursday and we're being eccentric#I find Beau as a character fucking INSUFFERABLE for the first 40-odd episodes of C2#but that's part of why I love her so much. she grew so much.#Caleb is and always will be my c2 blorbo (I headcanon him as adhd/autistic) so beau's conflict with him was triggering for me in early M9#but after c2e48 it got significantly better and by c2e84 she's up there with my favs of the M9#but that's just my 2 cents and this implementation by Matt is AMAZING I LOVE IT SO MUCH

Translation:
Considering that Lotus's (Creek's mom) whole bad personality started because she refused to process and acknowledge her father's death...
What if I went to therapy? Maybe she just went to show the Pop Trolls that the other tribes' therapy was of no use and that her husband's family's methods were better, only for her to end up voluntarily hiding from her husband, she says. , processes and finally processes the death of her father (she must have been very close to him if she refused to acknowledge his death) and later also processes the death of her mother and her only sister, how she took them away and how she let them die. to her only living nephew (as far as she knows) she simply processes that her loving father died, she willingly walked away from her only family who only wanted the best for her and now her only son was walking away from her and the worst thing is that again it was his fault (maybe with a little dull colors)
I just think Creek deserves at least one of his parents with him, and his mom needs therapy :(
Answer:
If she ever was to wake up, it would likely be far too late. Creek has been lied to one to many times, and Branch has been hurt by everyone. Not to mention she probably wouldn't know how to approach them after all those years of her social skills getting utterly wrecked. She'd probably try to get close to Branch first with stories of his mother...only for her to accidentally say the wrong thing and it all falls apart.

HUNGER GAMES MEME FOR MULTIMUSES !!
Sort your muses into the different Hunger Games categories and show your followers who you think would win. REPOST, don't REBLOG.
TAGGED BY: snatched from dash bc I thought it was awesome xD TAGGING: @x-brokencrowns @lilxmcrtes @skyler-bane @kingdom-of-vanity @brokenblondeprincess @ask-thedepressedkidatthetable @myriadxofxmuses @lxvefrxmthextherside @daisyxmuses @ghostsxagain && everyone who wants to do this
✧・゚ 𝐃𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄.
★ ⸻ VICTOR
TALIESIN - let's face it, he does that for a living. He isn't only physically strong, but can also use some magic tricks and is pretty cunning.
★ ⸻ CAREERS
JOE - honestly, at first I wanted to put him on top, but he'd get in his own way. Plus, I am sure Tal would have an idea to nullify his resurrection cycle.
PENELOPE - her and Joe are very even, but I'd say Penelope has a moral issue. So that would be her downfall, if she ran into Joe or Tal.
ALEXANDRA - not only would she get many sponsors, she's also very strong and regenerates. But she can die. And since Penelope's a hunter, I am sure she'd get her in the end.
★ ⸻ STRONG TRIBUTE
ABEL - hella charismatic, would win over a ton of sponsors and allies. Smart, knows how to survive. But something tells me he'd try to bond with Alexandra, another intellectual person in the game, and that would be his downfall.
RAFE - He would be in the game for a very long time, simply bc he's physically strong. Also used to be a soldier. That makes up for his disadvantages, but he's a hothead and would be outwitted.
LUCIFERO - okay, we know he's got rich people who'd provide him stuff and he's also not a nice person, fights nasty to get what he wants. He has many magic tricks up his sleeves and could probably make his necromancy skills useful. But Rafe would crush him bc he's weak physically.
SAFFRON - she's physically strong with the demon, but way too impulsive. Luce would totally get her with a spell, probably targeted at the entity and then she'd be gone.
★ ⸻ ONE DAY SURVIVOR
I have the feeling all of them would group up, tbh xD
DAVEY - he's already dead. That's his only advantage. He'd want to befriend others, find allies, but I'm sure Saffron's demon would chew and spit him out.
OLIVER - he knows how to kill and survive in the wilds bc he's a wolf. But let's be honest, he wouldn't kill any of them, not if he has a choice. Davey wouldn't kill him either, I think he'd just try to save Davey and get killed in the process bc he's such a good boy.
ZELDA - well, her mutant powers are a thing, but she doesn't know how to use them. She'd probably kill Rachel on accident and Oli would get her ass bc of something random. Like another accident and only he'd get out of it alive.
RACHEL - he'd bee too stressed and panicky to think straight. Honestly. He'd be good for a small amount of time, but just not very attentive.
★ ⸻ DIES AT THE CORNUCOPIA
EMRY - just like Rachel, he'd be too freaked out by the whole thing, but compared to him he just wouldn't do anything smart.
CASPER - he'd freeze on the spot. Boy's already traumatized enough, there would neither be a fight or flight response.
FELIX - he'd be toast so. quickly. It's not even funny. And you could be sure he'd complain about being blind, right before he'd die.

How about 9, 23, 50 for Tesni and 20, 28, 42 for Talulla? (I love your character names btw)
[Thanks a bunch, really! So, this turned out pretty huge in the end, so breaking it up with a readmore in the middle. Wouldn't wanna put a longpost on everyone's dash, hahaha]
Do they cheat to win or play by the rules?
Oh, Tesni is very serious about sticking to fair play, so much so that she expects the very same of those in her close entourage. Woljif can attest to her intensity on that particular front.
There's of course the principle of the matter to her, but it's also a matter of responsibility for Tesni. After all, she holds a position of great power and influence - so if she cannot be bothered to uphold a standard of decency and fairness, what message does that send to everyone else?
What’s one childhood memory they’ve never forgotten?
Being made into a glorified lab rat to serve as a vessel initially scrambled some of Tesni's recollection, made the details of many a memory foggy. Just one nasty memory refused to let to, often resurfacing as night terrors.
Her mother, or "the wench that birthed me" as Tesni would coldly refer to her, she had one of those awful moods again. That nasty mix of drinking, remembering the half-fiend that sired "that child", or...anything really. Who can know in hindsight?
Tesni had cried when she once again filed her horns down to the wick. Anything not to remember the fiend, anything to suppress what made Tesni outwardly a demon. Crying and yelling that only made the woman more furious. She remembers being grabbed by her then tail like an animal, the glint of a knive, then pain, enough to vomit and see stars.
There's a reason Tesni's extremely sensitive about the scar on her lower back.
Do they have any insecurities?
Anything that marks Tesni as a Pitborn, really. As much as she does her damnedest to keep an air of confidence and desire to prove herself as a woman not defined by it, there's a lot of it under the surface for her.
In particular, she bears a massive insecurity over the overactive libido her succubus "grandmother" passed on to her. Just like the bloodrage, it's something that's just a part of her - and in this case, it has made Tesni extremely self-conscious about how "worthwhile" she'd be in a relationship, or how sincere her own feelings of desire for a man would be. Exacerbated by having gotten nasty comments about a succubus spawn being "easy" before. So when she's very taken upon meeting Regill, there's a big cocktail of that with a splash of repression going on, good a poker face as she can have when she tries.
Who’s their go-to person for advice?
Talulla has a close relationship with both of her parents, so they are the people she'll turn to when she's in need of some guidance. Tesni's every bit the mother who will have an open ear to her kid's troubles, even if it's just to vent, offer some advice if it's needed. Besides, her own life experiences as a mortal make her a good listener to a young immortal who's still in need of finding her own identity.
Now, if Tal needs a straight shooter who'll give practical advice with no frills, she'll turn to Regill. Her old man never stopped being the taciturn kind, who will offer solutions instead of just letting people vent - and a lot of the time she just needs a bit of practical bluntness to steer her right.
As deciding to live with mortals to figure herself out and that "lack" Talulla feels from not having lived as one as her parents...it's not like she can just easily hop over into Tesni's divine domain to ask, nor would she want to. In her time just living as a "definitely ordinary woman", she's come to appreciate Jubilost's bluntness. She'll often turn to him, after all, a circle of yes-men is the very last thing a ruler needs if they mean to do their job competently.
Who, if anyone, do they dislike most?
The moment Talulla's sussed out what was going on, she's grown into an actual blistering hatred of Nyrissa. She was never one to put much stock into extending any olive branches to those who've crossed too many lines for her to stomach - and seeing this fey creature treat people as some little shit-kid with a stick does to a bed of flowers? And for what? For pride, a fall from it and making it the problem of so many innocents? That's worth a declaration of retribution right there.
What’s the typical first impression after meeting this person?
As many who have met her can attest, Talulla does have something of an unfortunate "resting golem face" that makes her unapproachable from the jump. Many think of her as a woman shaped brick with no regard for the feelings of others.
This isn't helped by her being extremely direct and blunt in the way she speaks and not trying to mask her intent with pretty words. Something that made her start off on extremely rocky ground with Linzi in particular. One might say the tendency to leave a terrible first impression runs in the family...
#asks and replies#oc: commander tesni#oc: baroness talulla#yeah I have many a THOUGHT about my pathfinder PCs#lot of talk about the semi-divine law family because I love em your honor

TALwire's Game
TALwire's Game, by Stolas, TALwire, River, Gaap, Yurayana, Razca, Phesund
This one is shorter than the last one. Of the people credited here, four of them are Glip (Stolas, TAlwire, Gaap, Phesund) and one that I know of is Pengo (River) although maybe he's also playing Yurayana and Razca, I don't know. Just pointing it out.
We open up in the Synmet sound shrine center stage. Stolas is there and now fully looks like a dragon.
you've heard of growth spurts but wait til you see this
TALwire comes by to ask him to play a game, although she also looks different, which confuses Stolas. He asks what happened to her face, and if her "keys changed". Keys were mentioned in the last one in Stolas's speech, and also before in The World Egg where Nuez asked sarcastically if Phesund was going to turn her into keys. What exactly a key is remains unclear.
in english, four eyes!! TALwire says that she's "diagnosing the properties of void propagation in her KEY now that a full Circlet of the Sun has been both identified and validated." If you may recall in Circlet of the Sun (THAT'S RIGHT, THE VN THAT GOT TAKEN DOWN AND REMOVED WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION BUT IS STILL A KEY PLOTPOINT), Call-Clout said that the circlet of the sun was a list of all the ways they'd been hurt by Silas. The receipts for their callout, essentially. What that has to do with things now isn't clear, but I'm going to try and make some connections anyway.
I'm guessing the Circlet of the Sun is a record of what happened in a previous cycle of events before the universe reset and tried again in a new frequency. Everything in the world right now since Eastar and Circlet of the Sun seems to be taking place in a new frequency, and TAL was mentioned before to be able to traverse them. So let's say the Circlet of the Sun here is the records of the last iteration of this insane story and all the characters and plotpoints that got shunted out the door.
As for the first part, about diagnosing void propagation and why that changed TALwire's face, I'm really not sure. CC mentioned "knowing the void" when she talked about the Circlet, but it sounded like standard edgy talk. I guess since figuring out what the Circlet is, it's been propagating void in her KEY and she changed her face to try and diagnose what's happening.
TALwire goes on to say that she's using her current KEY to understand the current strain of Chordincepts in Althar Minor. Still not entirely sure what Chordincepts are, but the use of strain makes it sound like a disease.
Stolas is like yeah okay, why do you want to play a game though. TALwire says she wants to prevent Stolas's death, saying her projections and simulations say it'll happen on [specific date] if she doesn't intervene. Stolas is interested, asking her what the game is.
my eye stripes make me look so much cooler
TALwire says she envisions the questions game, circling, and playing with void. She then says she'd like to apply Stolas to herself to understand his experiences in totality. Stolas asks exactly what means, asking if it'll be something like Merge Swap, something that came up before in a species sheet for Kobolds. It's much like it sounds, letting you exchange and merge with another being on pretty much every level.
TALwire says that that was her first thought, and she thinks a "species expression potential" would come from that path, and that she's been freely traversing it. She says that in that, she is a sphinx and Stolas is a part of her.
Stolas is interested and hesitant. He says he's interested in games and learning and movement, and says that it sounds like TALwire is suggesting a direction for "the illness", and a way to work with it. Stolas's only idea for dealing with the illness was to take all of it into himself to keep it contained. He says it felt familiar, and he realized he'd already seen a similar situation play out in Hellside. It never resolved the war, he says, and he's not sure it even really helped. There's been a lot of talk about a war in Hellside and people dying, and Pride making people husks and all that, but so far all we've seen is a few people fighting a few angels and a plague. Whenever war comes up in this it feels so random.
Stolas says he's not sure what comes next if he takes in all the Chordincepts. He says that Gaap stopped being able to see others and started to hallucinate, implying that she also tried the same thing. He wonders if he'd also lose the ability to interact with others from his perception. Would he appear to them but be harming them without his knowledge? Stolas says he wants movement. He's out of ideas and is willing to listen to what TALwire suggests.
He says he's hesitant because he's not sure how present he'll be. From the way TALwire described it, he feels like he's being used and put aside, and is worried he won't be able to express wanting to leave. He asks if that's true, and TALwire says it's possible. She says she does intend to use him, and that makes it possible for him to use her, and it may become more of a symbiotic relationship. BUT he'd have to learn how to express himself within all the new rules of their combined form. So if he can't figure out how to express wanting to leave in the new form, he wouldn't be able to do so.
Stolas asks what the difference is between expressing himself and expressing himself through her. TALwire says she can't directly express the difference without compromising the game and its objectives, which is an excuse TAL always trots out whenever she doesn't want to say something that'd spoil the plot. She says to answer concretely is to cut off paths.
Stolas says he understands and that it comes down to him making a choice to trust his feelings or not. He asks if he can make requests, and TALwire says yes and that if it's possible, she'll try to fulfill them. Stolas asks if she'll keep him from hurting others if she can manage it, and she says she'll try. He starts to ask her to tell someone something, then says to himself that this hurts and it feels like he's choosing his last words. He decides instead that he needs time and needs to write something, and asks TALwire to tell River that he's written a message to him in it.
TALwire says that it might disrupt the game for her to indicate the book to River directly, but acknowledges the request. Stolas asks for time to write, which TALwire says is fine.
to my number one fan, keep on truckin, yours truly, the stolmeister
Stolas writes in his book for days while crying as TALwire presumably watches creepily. He writes up 28 pages which honestly doesn't seem like that much to me for the time he spent but whatever. After he finishes he waits a few more days just staring at TALwire before saying he's ready. There's a mention that Althar is "still frozen" overall as Stolas waits. He finally says he's ready to play and asks her to watch over his book for him, and she notes his request.
She tells Stolas to come here and holds his giant face. Time for things to get weird.
hold me closer tiny dancer Things get into the weird overlappy scribble realm again as TALwire goes through Stolas's memories/feelings etc. We see Stolas as an egg and being born again, then little Stolas apparently vomiting or dripping rainbows on the floor. Again with the vomit rainbows!
here's what i think of you!! bleaahhh
Gaap is apparently very upset with this and tells him "no" several dozen times. We get a glimpse back to when Gaap first saw him and she said he was "Stolas, for now" and "not 'Andre'. That's you. Not Andre." as the name Stolas repeats for a while. There's a scribbly shot of what I think is Phesund saying "Sweetheart. That's you" to River. It sort of looks like Phesund and sort of looks like Stolas at the same time... the lines between characters are so blurry in this comic, and when you get right down to it they're all Glip anyway.
go down to the five and dime for me shweetheart That super high rhombus shows up again and I think it's supposed to be River??? They have the giant hat/head thing going on. They ask why Stolas is deflecting and asks if that's all Stolas does. "Never listens to River. Never listens to what he says", River (?) says.
i'm so baked
Stolas's previous text with sweetheart in it gets replaced with him apologizing and saying he won't do it again. An odd shot of what looks like Stolas writhing on his back while River watches on gets laid in, while little round Stolas looks confused. We see another shot of River but with simpler eyes saying Stolas's name over and over again. Little Stolas still looks confused, while Yurayana gets overlaid in saying "Urges." which makes the little Stolas look intense.
We get a shot of Razca picking up Stolas when he was pecking at her car, with "no no no" and "do not touch me" near it. There's then a shot of Stolas... eating River...?? Saying that he's going to eat you, with a panel of River appearing nearby saying eat me, eat me, eat me. Back to vore again I suppose.
found in the deserted apartment of a serial killer when the cops look for them
Little Stolas looks even more confused at River saying he wants to be eaten. We get an odd panel with what I think is Razca and Stolas intertwined, with River inside Stolas, and Stolas saying "Someone isn't consenting."
hm. don't like where this is going.
Razca asks someone what she means to them. What I think is Gaap appears near the bottom looking intense, saying "Stolas doesn't find it important to tell Gaap if Andre almost dies?" although Stolas's name is crossed out. Something overlays part of the shot above so now Phesund is the one saying that someone isn't consenting, with Catmoon and some... thing next to him.
talking to you, ice cream pine marten back there
We get a shot of Razca holding Stolas up, with River saying in the background that he doesn't like it. We then get a rather sudden shot of Stolas saying that he "wants inside of River. Now." which, given that River looks and acts like a little kid, uuuhhh [thinks about Furfur almost molesting Min back in the first arcs of the comic] uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh
but if you're inside me, and i'm inside you, then where's the caveman?
I guess we know River is older than Stolas because he was there when Stolas was born but still. We get a shot of Stolas looking furious when he told Nuez not to touch him with her words, then a shot of Phesund looking bored, saying "I dunno. Are you going to kill yourself and blame me if I don't talk?" which is probably related to that person Glip regretted saving from suicide as they said on Twitter. Then we see Stolas in his stupid crown hat costume looking intense saying that if "she" does it again, he'll break her neck.
There's another shot of little Stolas, with him saying "Stolas is poison for River", although the "is poison for River" part looks like its covering up something else he said. We get a shot of Razca asking if Stolas (I assume) wants to coil, and the other speech bubble changes to "Stolas is poison for Razca". There's an angry shot of Stolas yelling at someone (River I think), asking why he's in Althar.
There's a shot of Stolas and Gaap in what appears to be a big nest sort of looking at each other. Then we get River asking what Stolas would do if it turned out that Gaap was using Stolas, and Stolas has an intense look on his face as he says "then I would kill her" but the words are crossed out.
The other balloon changes now to "Stolas is poison for Gaap", then we get an ominous shot of Yurayana saying "fascinating response" in a shot that reminds me a lot of Neon.
yurayana just wants to feel included
We get a shot of Stolas on his back or maybe screaming to the sky? It's not clear, but he's screaming at someone to kill him and just say they hate him already. The balloon changes again to "Stolas is poison for Yurayana" but then Yurayana is crossed out, and it says Stolas instead. There's then a shot of little Stolas looking weepy saying he's a bad seed. It then scribbles out Stolas and writes Not Andre instead.
There's a shot of Phesund looking bored and irritated, saying to someone that they did not connect with intention to understand. It reminds me a bit of what Nuez said back in the World Egg about not understanding art. Phesund looks super annoyed lol.
B^u
Another shot of little Stolas where he's crying and saying he's sorry over and over, and then a callback to the last VN where Stolas asked River what he'd do if he killed himself. We then get an overlay of some odd looking thing, sort of like a glop of slime with a weird sundial flower kind of thing over it.
everybody wave your arms like this, unh unh
It resolves into what is apparently TALwire's sphinx form which is... ridiculous, sitting in front of Stolas.
my face help, why my face, why
Stolas weeps, saying that he doesn't want to die, but he's so tired of being like this, so maybe dying would be okay. TALwire says that he doesn't have to die if he doesn't want to. I don't know what's going on with her face.
guess what time it is
Stolas collapses further onto the floor, saying he needs help. TALwire asks how she can help, and Stolas says he doesn't want to be a bad seed anymore. He says he's so tired of being bad even when he's trying really hard to do the right thing and he's so tired of it never working, and he doesn't understand how to be good and he doesn't know how to fix anything.
TALwire says she thinks he's good. Stolas looks up at her all "really? ;_;" and she says yes, then tells him to come here and she'll show him. She pulls him in towards her and it looks ominous and creepy, even if it's supposed to be a hug. I'm not sure if that's intentional, but the whole River thing earlier put me on edge.
bad vibes, man
Anyway, the two of them merge into an incredibly stupid looking creature, like... look at this thing. This is some real Looney Tunes Duck Amuck nonsense. The important thing to note is that Stolas's head is on the tail and it seems like his mouth is taped shut.
ain't i a stinker And then it just ends!! That sure was weird and uncomfortable! While more subdued about it, Glip again says that the RP is taking place on their DISCORD and you can join if it if you're interested! JOIN IT
What this means though is that now we're all caught up! This is the last update as of now! So I've summarized every installment of Floraverse up to this point! So what's the plot of Floraverse after all this? Here's the best that I can figure out.
Since Floraverse is more of a setting than a linear narrative, I'm going to try to focus on the main thoroughlines as opposed to all the smaller character dramas that play out. This comic is really more of a slice-of-life thing though - there just really isn't that much plot when you get down to it.
Essentially, Floraverse is a reality composed of many different variations called frequencies, where many small things can change from one to the other. The inhabitants of the world are trying to accomplish a certain task (planting the seeds) to reach a "happy ending", but every time they've been met with failure. The cycle has repeated several times to no avail, leaving many of the characters desperate to find some way to break the cycle, since they don't see any way to succeed. This has been attempted several ways, some more meta than others, but still it's ended in failure. The latest version of reality seems to have come into being after the last one was almost totally scrapped, and it's unclear right now what the progress is of planting the seeds.
On a more granular level, there are a few things that can be put together about the overall timeline. One is that there was a stage in a place called Cenastre that caught on fire and burned, endangering the members of the Troupe (embodiments of Glip's creative process: writing, art, music, etc.) who fled to other areas in the world. Cenastre is always burning, and Min said that planting the seeds was supposed to help with that, although it's never really explained why. That's what Min says anyway - others say that the seeds can't be planted or everything will come to ruin. This whole plotline kind of got dropped though, even though it's the namesake of the whole comic. I felt like I might as well mention it though. (Cenastre burning is probably the first world that got killed off in the Prologue, in a meta sense)
The event that comes up more often is a plague that ravages the world if left unchecked. Keeping the plague under control relies on one person, Median, and one person to rescue her, Beleth. In all frequencies, if Beleth doesn't save Median, then the plague goes out of control and kills everyone. This is another thing that's "constant" across frequencies but has also been mostly dropped. Hints of it have sort of come back lately though but it doesn't really feel important anymore. Its real relevance right now is that it made Andre have to be reborn into Stolas for whatever reason.
There are angels, the reality-erasing horrors, except those keep getting changed around so who knows if they still do that or what anymore. Sometimes they're friendly, sometimes they're incomprehensible, sometimes they're just a normal person apparently, who knows.
And... what else? I really can't think of much else. There's so much turnover and so many things that get chucked out the window when Glip gets tired of them, what's worth keeping track of? Floraverse is meant to be a setting for stories to be told in, rather than a story in and of itself. Maybe that's why the plot is hard to find and pin down. I dunno, what really matters is that I'm FREE BABY, I'M FREE! HAHAHAHAHA!
until the next update anyway

EoS Chapter 61:
*spoilee bar*
Alternative Title: I feel a very real fear😅🖤
Legit I don’t think I’ve ever had a set of characters have so much going against them (normally I’m going HOW ARE A BUNCH OF IMMORTALS STRUGGLING or PLOTHOLE) but this time… this time I just legit don’t know HOW THE HECK DO WE GET OUT OF THIS? LIKE LEGIT?? WTF! THE HITS JUST KEEP COMING😭😅😅🖤☠️🫡🫥🫠😭
“She knew how this would go” — it’s sickening how we all feel it too
Gavriel & Fenrys warning about Maeve, about when she’d attack & what she would want… now she’s asking for death or surrender… why? What is she getting out of this? What game is she playing? HOW THE HELL DO THEY GET OUT OF IT?! “And then ... Rowan didn't know what she'd do then. What Maeve wanted, other than the keys.” — THIS. This is what SCARES ME
I feel like Aelin AND Rowan like AFTER EVERYTHING this is ridiculous yet utterly lost😭 *opens HoF to the “I’m lost and there is no home” scene*
“An entire day. So that fear would fester and spread among their men.” — She’s even trying to get them to turn on each other?! I REALLY REALLY HATE MAEVE!!! (points for the fact none of them are; you called her court thieves, liars, killers, traitors; yet here they are standing by each others side wherever it ends)
Why is she not summoning the cadre? … They don’t have an underhanded order do they? — No. No no no. — Wait can she do that?-Do they know all their orders? Can they be subconcious?.. She couldn’t still have Rowan could she?.. Or reveal she made him do something like kill Aelin’s parents all those years ago?.. Or do something to make the cadre either kill eachother or get killed by them?
“Lorcan paced like a caged beast. Elide watching with a face that impressively revealed nothing.” — I love her & also ow because she loves him and he loves her but he’s still bound to Maeve & also Lorcan can manage to read her & OW … & also wow in hindsight Rowan must have been dying in Mistward (no wonder he was crabby)
ROWAN WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?
DORIAN WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?
Arson I know what your thinking and originally I typed Aedion but autocorrect was right that’s the vibe and honestly dude same
YES — DORIAN — WHAT. IS. IT??? — Aelin & Manon??? “Dorian remained quiet, though he often glanced between her and Manon. As if some puzzle were laid before him. He never said what.”
“Rowan made a decent attempt at trying to suggest she run. She let him talk, only to let him realize in doing so what a stupid idea it was. After last night, he should be well aware she was not leaving him. Not willingly.” — Rowan trying to convince her to run😭 her listening knowing he had to try😭 — OWWW — also just the fact she listens to him — and I’m sorry AFTER WHAT LAST NIGHT!?!?! I’m getting ACOMAF ENDING vibes? But worse😅😬“NOT willingly” — that’s even worse then a self sacrifice and my fear keeps growing
“Time. Her only tool--and her downfall. And she had run out of it.” — “Aelin counted those black sails again and again as night blanketed them. And had no idea what to do.”
“It was unacceptable, Rowan had decided, during the long hours they'd debated. Unacceptable that they had done so much, only to behalted not by Erawan, but Maeve.” — AGREED (at least he understands Maeve… maybe he can help somehow??? IM DESPERATE HERE TOO)
“Aelin had been so calm. Shock, he'd realized. Aelin had gone into shock. Rowan had seen her rage and kill and laugh and weep, but he had never seen her ... lost. And he hated himself for it, but he couldn't find a way out. Couldn't find a way for her to get out of this.” — THIS ENTIRE PASSAGE… I am lost and there is no home — she has endured but now she is tired he hated himself for not being able to save her… it was the silence not ice or calm before storm — almost acceptance — it’s horrifying.
“He knew the house flags that flew beneath Maeve's own crest. — WHAT DOES THAT MEAN — Had counted and cataloged them all day, sorting through the catacombs of his memory.” —ROWAN HOW DO YOU TALK SO PRETTY EVEN NOW?
“He took in the lines of her face, the golden waves of her hair, every moon-white scar and dark swirl of ink.” — every description always makes me wonder if there’s something more there like the tattoo note or scars or moon white (a terminology usually reserved for Manon) or gold (traditional Aelin) and the parallel of her watching Sam in TAB and this moment of him being the one to sneak away (though I wonder if she knows) and also kinda like the Chapl moment of a miracle she trusted him enough to rest and also ROWAN WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS — LIKE ITS GOODBYE (plz stop & take up the Aedion style “fighting to live” not this “fighting to die” or make sure she lives at the cost of HIM)
“He would not let it end here, not let this be what broke them.” — The only sanity hope in the fact he says THEM
“silent as a snow in the wood” — poetry & pure symbolism, gorgeous with how they describe things like him & magic & snow
“—He allowed himself one last look at her. For a moment, the past snared him--for a moment, he saw her as he'd first spied her on the rooftops of Varese, drunk and battered. He'd been in hawk form, assessing his new charge, and she'd noticed him--broken and reeling, she had still spotted him there. And stuck out her tongue at him. If someone had told him that the drunken, brawling, bitter woman would become the one thing he could not live without ... Rowan shut the door.”
ROWAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHERE ARE YOU GOING WHY AGHHHHHH
Okay wait this isn’t a turn in or faked death there is hope? — Come on cousin power!
This was all he could offer🥹😭
“Assassin, or messenger Prince?” — is there a third option of husband? Or mate? Or something that didn’t make the “spark in his eyes DIE”
How to say Enda??? (also aren’t green eyes flecked with brown how Sam’s were described😭… maybe the clarity of Rowan’s means he can’t be Valg*ed (or whatever the term is and also yes I know it’s gold & witches that have that BUT STILL))
So is fading the immortals version of death? … And did they just choose to leave him… also I wish we’d seen more of Rowan’s “wild youth”
YES REPRESENT (I waited a hundred years… they’d wait a hundred more… MY SOUL)
Not gonna lie “Kerrigan” scared me for a sec until I realized that’s the wrong fandom (S&B peeps know what I mean😂)
FOREVER INTWINED — say the words please😂😭 cause you looooovvvveeeeeeeeee heeeeerrrrrrrrrr & they all know it (maybe they’ll help for that sake, they tried to keep him alive… maybe so he could meet her… they can’t possibly like Maeve? So MAYBE— at least their listening).
“Time was not his ally this night” — she getting tortured poet as hellllllll and I’m here for it minus the terror
“Court trained mask of neutrality” — too soon from Spring Court guys TOO SOON
Him of all people begging for help once again because he would ask every soul and god he could to save the woman he loves to let him stay by her side😭😭 so he went ship to ship ALL NIGHT … I’m a sucker for them trying to save eachother tropes (real Wings & Ruin vibes with the haha we both made deals with semi-demons to save us)

I know I'm SUPER late to this bridgerton hot takes section but I am ALWAYS willing to share my opinion ESPECIALLY when it's against something I don't like SO::
Legit the entire "rake with a capital R" characters are so gross??? You can argue that they get character development but it's so ICKY when their defining character trait is. Sleeping with dozens of prositutes. IN CONTRAST the female lead is this innocent and virgin girl who has ~no idea~ of what goes on in the bedroom and is simply ~aghast~ at the scandalous ways of her husband! (That's more for s1)
Also the "enemies to lovers" in s2 was LAUGHABLE. It was not /true/ enemies to lovers, they were not serving the way they thought they did!! Oooh let's have one meeting and exchange what some would call witty banter!! I gag!!! I was so disinterested in them it's so hyper realistic
ohmygod, lindsay, queen, finally someone has mentioned the Capital R Rake issue with anthony's storyline!!!!!!!!!
so my main issue with this character beat is that at no point does anyone regard it as being an issue, concern, or flaw of his character. it's brought up and depicted because it's ~a part of anthony's character~ but literally the show has no desire in exploring such a character flaw. maybe i'm jumping the gun and anthony's past as a Rake is going to create problems between him and kate in the future (though i highly doubt it - it goes against the "happily ever after" vibe bridgerton has, and kanthony is such a beloved ship in the fandom that people would not like that direction because "true love should have cured him of the desire to seek out the company of other women!!!!" 🤢 ), but chances are, this aspect of anthony is going to just,,, disappear. like it never existed.
and just like,,,,, exCUSE ME SIR, but being a Rake is decidedly not a good thing!!!! you're telling me that anthony bridgerton was THE eligible bachelor for quite literally everyone in society despite his Rake status??? i understand marrying up for rank, and as anthony's a viscount, anyone who marries him would sit comfortably, but not a single debutante or mother or father or sIbLiNg cared???? and more than that, kate didn't care about it when edwina was pursuing him????? there was an offhanded mention of it, certainly, but kate mainly waxed poetic about the concern of anthony not Loving edwina rather than, "he is a Rake! he will visit prostitutes without shame and actively ruin your family name (which, y'know, at one point was kinda important because of whatever plot she had with the sheffield's and edwina needing to marry someone of Good Repute). he will most likely have children out of wedlock, and he might even legitimize them over your own, but that's a minor concern because most importantly, you will never be respected by him or society! a Rakish husband will only ruin a lady! and, of course, he can't love you, but that's a secondary concern. maybe even tertiary." like,,,, damn, are these just undertones of anthony's story? feels like they should be a little more.... idk,,,, front and center? it's a great humanizing plot line that he's too scared to love, but a bigger Issue is that his lack of love has not stopped him from having sex with a lot of people and Not At All Discreetly. but then edwina would have no reason to pursue anthony, and the plotline the show created will have no basis to stand. at least with daphne (because let us not forget that simon also had Rake status), there was a confounding variable of "i love the Rake! and i think the Rake might just love me!" there was at least some viable reason to pursue simon - because daphne had this notion of love! the Edwina Pursues Anthony arc decidedly does not have that element of love in it because there's no evidence that anthony loves Edwina back, and the viewers know that kate is supposed to be a good enough sister that she'd shut edwina's hopes down real fast if edwina ever tried to peddle such a narrative, so we had to just,,,,,, "shhhh, don't talk about anthony being a rake and that being Bad" the entire character beat.
i hate it. can you tell?
and asdfghjkjgfdsdfghjjhgfd, i just know your dislike of this flavor of enemies to lovers is going to be hella controversial on tumblr, and i know i'm going to get booed for this, but i 100% agree. besties,,,,,,,,,, idk what to tell you, but lust does not equal love and while the actors had some p good chemistry, i was not sold on any kind of love story beyond sexual attraction. they had a total of perhaps two (2) civil conversations after kate decided she didn't like anthony because of his Motives for Finding a Wife (which is fine but also like,,, anthony is not alone in that opinion, ma'am, and you're kinda desperate to get edwina wed, and if she likes him and we're not talking about the rake thing......... perhaps you gotta settle for second best when in a bind??), and then they just hated each other the rest of the time?? there was not a long enough interim that could convince me that the two went from enemies to this awkward stage where they're figuring things out, to the full blown lovers they were supposed to be. are you telling me the Bee Sting moment was supposed to the the Transition? bestie, that scene was 15 minutes at BEST and literally in less than 24 hours later he proposes to edwina, restarting the cycle of enemies!!!!!! *screeching* mAyBe EnEmIeS tO lOvErS iS nOt FoR mE, or maaaaaybe they are not a good example of enemies to lovers????? maybe they were just enemies and sexual tension???? maybe love is a complicated process that involves the direct opposite of making selfish choices (even ones based on trauma) and screaming at the other for being so frustrating????? idk bro, but i am not sold on the kathony love story, and so i'm understandably PISSED at people hating edwina over being,,,,, upset that kate lied to her??? upset that kate warned her one (1) time about there perhaps being another woman (and dropping this complaint later, so perhaps it's an issue resolved?) only to find out that the other woman was gOING TO BE KATE????? AND EVERYONE KNEW BUT NO ONE SAID ANYTHING??????? damn bro,,,,, justice for edwina and kathony, i don't believe you actually love each other.
#asks#lindsay — 🥺#bridgerton takes#bridgerton spoilers#spoilers#anti bridgerton#anti anthony bridgerton#anti kate sharma#anti kanthony#anti#i know this is going to get me so much hate but bestie i have opinions about kanthony and they are not popular#but also honest to god i'm so upset that being a Rake was never an issue it was just that ~anthony can't love~#honey......... there are bigger fish to fry

I Love You
I completely recommend watching 2x14 Borrow or Rob, and the beginning of 2x15 Draw O Cesar Erase a Coward, before reading this fic. While this fic is AU it does have many similarities and minor details that it couldn't hurt to watch the episode first! Anyways enjoy!!!!!

Kurt had a day.
Not bad. Definitely not good. Just... A day.
A day he'll never forget actually. It was so full of ups and downs. From Shepherd plunging a knife into Sean's heart, to joking with Jane about whether or not he could handle Rich Dotcom. From shooting Rich to... Jane's date. That hurt. When Shepherd shoved a knife through Sean Clarke, Kurt's adrenaline spiked, he felt so alert for so long, he thought he would throw up. He got the same feeling from Jane. Except it was everytime she moved, spoke, brushed a lock of hair behind her ear, etc. Her admission of her date was too much. Kurt went straight home, got a damp rag, and laid down. Staring at the ceiling.
Though he did have to say, it still wasn't the worst part of his day. He felt bad. Witnessing first degree murder should automatically be the worst part of your day.
But when it comes to Rich.....
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
Kurt and Rich were sneaking through the secret underground tunnels of Jamison College, in order to get into the Deadalus gathering.
"This is interesting." Rich says, while coming to a stop.
"What?" Kurt replies shortly.
"Well this is the door, but the handle's different."
"Different how, Rich?!"
"Wel- well it's not there anymore?? Probably on account of all the hookers I snuck in it." Rich gestures to the handless door.
"Ok, so what's behind this door?" Kurt inquires, looking around.
"The closet. What are yo-"
"Stand back."
Kurt, with a running start, kicks the door in to find himself deep within the walls of a massive walk in closet.
"Aaaaa just how I remember it."
"SHHHHH!" Kurt puts his ear to the door, the one still on it's hinges, just in time to hear the gasps of attending guests and a soft female voice hushedly asking someone to notify security of the discrepancy.
"Shit."
"What?" Rich asks, genuinely confused.
"The guests are getting security to come check out 'the noise in the closet'."
"Oh. What are we gonna do Stubbles? I'm a sly guy but how do we explain that?"
"Oh God, why do you hate me?" Kurt says looking towards the ceiling.
"What? You're acting strange Stubbles, like weirder than normal. I mea-"
Rich was cut off by Kurt's large hands cupping both sides of his face, to kiss him. Without separating he backs Rich against a near wall, mimicking the earlier noise. Rich squirmed at first but expectedly went along with the unexpected.
"Come on Stubbles, you can at least use some tongue!"
"Shut. Up." Kurt snarls. "Actually. . . I need you to make some. . . noises." Kurt says while blushing furiously.
"Security is on their way." Tasha notifies through comms.
"Yeah you guys better get out of there." Reade warns.
"And say what? Oh hey haven't seen you in a while, please excuse my entering through a closet?!" Rich whisper-yells.
"Everyone shut up!" Kurt also whisper yells. "Now Rich I need you to moan a lot. Loudly."
"You could always make me Stubbles!"
"Rich!"
"Kurt what the hell are you doing?" Reade asks, growing increasingly concerned about his teammate's mental health.
"Rich just do it!"
"OOOOH! STUBBLES, YES!" Rich practically screams.
The party guests turn a side eye. But the security, like Kurt hoped, were turning away, figuring that the noise came from two enthusiastic partygoers. Or if the other patrons were anything like Rich maybe more.
Of course Weller didn't know that yet.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
"Ohhh. Now i get it, I can't believe this is working." Reade says, half laughing at the ridiculous noises coming out of his earpiece. "Hey Kurt it's work-"
"Will you shut up?!" Tasha butts in.
"What are you tal-"
"He doesn't know that they stood down yet." Tasha says wriggling her eyebrows. "Hey Kurt most of the security guards stood down but you still have a couple incoming. . . You might need to amp it up a bit!"
Her and Reade try and fail to stifle their laughter after Rich let's out a completely overexaggerated 'UNGH'!
"Come on Stubbles, they're not buying it, you're gonna have to join me if you wanna get out of here."
"Why me? God why me?" Kurt says again looking up.
Kurt let's out a loud and breathless 'Oh God' that completely undoes all of Tasha and Reade's composure. They are hysterical by now. They completely lost it when Rich and Kurt started harmonizing!
"Stop! Stop!" Tasha said. "I can't take it anymore." She pulls herself up from the floor of the van, where she fell from laughing so hard.
"Yeah guys, the security's gone. They're long gone." Reade adds, clutching his stomach.
"Yeah Rich so goo- wait what?!"
"Yeah you're clear." Tasha clarifies.
"You could have compromised this entire op!" Kurt says furiously.
"We all know that's not why you're mad Stubbles. And as the bible states-"
"I swear to God Rich, if you say another word I will shoot you."
"Another word."
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
Kurt flushed red just thinking about it. What was he going to put in his field report?!
He turned to lay on his side to take in the fresh scenery of the wall instead of the ceiling. After laying there for about two minutes, he finally got up to fix himself dinner.
While gathering ingredients, Kurt's mind inevitably wandered back to Jane's date. Everything about it tore at him. What she'd be wearing, what she'd eat, would she cover her tattoos, would she wear makeup. . . . . . . .
His thoughts were interrupted by a phone call.
It was Jane.
A million questions ran through his head. Why is she calling him? Shouldn't she still be out on her date?
He lunged for the phone but then. . . He stilled. Didn't move a muscle. He picked up his phone, turned it over, and resumed gathering ingredients.
Once the phone eventually stopped buzzing, Kurt's inner turmoil came to play.
'Why didn't you answer?! Jane could be in trouble!'
'Be rational Kurt. She's on a date, probably just calling to let you know that she'll complete her paperwork tomorrow, since she's busy.'
'Look, everyone knows you're in love with her, but you can't act like some overprotective boyfriend whenever she's around.'
Kurt shakes his head. He wasn't in love with Jane Doe. Was he?
'Of course you are! That's why you lunged for the phone as soon as you saw her name, but put it down when you realized she was still on a date.'
'No. If I was in love with her, I would have immediately answered.'
'No. You love her so much that you realized that if she's having fun, even with another man, you wouldn't want to ruin that. That's love.'
'What am I supposed to do? I can't love her from afar.'
'This may be selfish but what if I proposed the idea that Oliver is Sandstorm?'
'It could work. But why not just tell her how you feel?'
"Because I'm just not ready yet." Kurt voiced sadly.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
First thing the next morning, Kurt was walking up and down the hallways, over and over again. In order to 'accidentally' bump into Jane on her way to Patterson's lab.
After three consecutive minutes, Jane appeared. She was wearing this loose, pastel green shirt, that roughly covered all of her upper body tattoos as well as bringing out her eyes. She paired it with tight blue jeans, which she almost never wears, and a few silver rings on her right hand.
"Wow." Kurt whispered. What looked like any other outfit, looked stunning on her. He almost forgot to 'bump' into her.
"Jane!"
"Oh, hey!"
"You get Patterson's text yet?"
"Yeah, heading there now."
They walk in silence for a few heartbeats, until they turn into a secluded hallway.
"Jane wait." Kurt says while gently grabbing Jane's arm.
"Kurt, what is it?"
"After you told me last night, about your date. I started thinking. . ."
Jane subconsciously starts to hold her breath. Her expression wreaks of hope.
"Hey! Glad I found you two, Patterson's got something." Tasha pops in.
"Yeah." Kurt says releasing Jane.
Saved by the bell.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
The debrief, while no longer than usual, felt unbearably long. The charged energy from Kurt and Jane's previous conversation still radiated off of them.
While any hope of continuing it was completely shut down by the tattoo clues pointing to three different entities, causing the team to split up completely. Kurt with Roman, Jane with Tasha, and Patterson with Reade.
This was going to be a longgg day.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
The team finally reconvened at about 5pm. They had just finished the field reports. All three of them. It was exhausting.
Fortunately for Kurt his adrenaline spiked right back up about an hour later when Tasha, so graciously, reminded the group that they never filled out the field report for their Deadalus mission. Which caused Reade and Patterson to burst out into a fit of giggles.
"What's so funny?" Jane asked, looking to Kurt, smiling.
Kurt goes wide-eyed. She doesn't know.
This was going to be a long night.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
The team had just finished catching Jane up while writing the 'going to be extremely redacted' field report.
"Wait I'm still confused. If you just wanted Rich to moan, why did you kiss him?"
All eyes look to Kurt.
"We- well I was under the impression that security was going to be charging through the door at any second." He says glaring at the pair of agents who were strategically avoiding his gaze. "And when they did, if they saw us. . . you know-"
"We don't know, Weller!" Patterson howled.
Kurt glared.
"Yeah I kind of want to know how far you were willing to take it Assistant Director!" Reade joined in.
"We're done here." Kurt said as he walked out.
÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
Jane had just walked out of the locker room to be met head on with Kurt.
"Kurt, hey!" Jane says, surprised.
"Hey."
"Umm. . . I actually wanted to talk to you."
Kurt raises his eyebrows in obvious confusion, cueing Jane to continue.
"When we were. . . Uh you know- outside of P- Patterson's lab. You didn't finish." Jane stumbles through her words as a new wave of nervousness hits her with full force.
"Oh that." Kurt says, grabbing Jane's arm, mirroring his earlier gesture and leading her away from the locker room door.
"Jane, I was up all night and I couldn't stop thinking about it. We need to be careful. Sandstorm feels like it's everywhere."
"You think Oliver is Sandstorm?"
"Yes. . . No." Kurt shakes his head.
"Kurt you're not making any sense." Jane says studying him.
"I know. I know. I just- no I don't think he's Sandstorm."
"Then why did you-"
"I've been trying to come up with reasons of why you shouldn't date him for the better part of 13 hours."
"Kurt wha-"
"And I got nothing, because the only reason is that I love you."
Jane goes wide-eyed. It was as if all the air was sucked out of her.
"I love you Jane."

Monaca beamed at Tsubomi, she always knew she could count on her to get her close to the action. She shoves her items in Kazuma's hands and withdrew her knife again. "Yes please!" She followed Nozomi's sister closely as they split of from the group a little.
It had been a while since Monaca had attacked something properly, she still remembered attacking Tiptuchi; the fear in her pretty pink eyes and the smell of her blood really got Monaca excited for the kill. Zombies never had the same effect as a human.. maybe she'd kill a human one day. She wanted to watch the life drain from their eyes.
"Oh look, there's one." She spotted a zombie that appeared to be stuck between some trees, an easy kill. But a kill non the less.
------
Tiptuchi was worried about this, they had been with groups before and it never ended well.. "Look, Haiji; I'm sure you've got a really really nice place and a group and whatever else that could possibly help us but-"
"¿Y si es seguro? (What if it's safe?)" Masaru asked his sister in Spanish cutting off the older sibling, Tiptuchi groaned and responded to him.
"Masaru, el último grupo con el que estábamos fue asesinado por Jaxus. (Masaru, the last group we were with were killed by Jaxus'.)" She placed her hands on her hips, she fully knew that Haiji wouldn't be able to understand their conversation but she needed to have a 'private talk' with her brother.
"Pero tal vez este sea diferente, ¡Haiji parece que podría darle una paliza! (But maybe this one is different, Haiji looks like he could beat him up!)" Masaru said excitedly, looking over at Haiji with a grin. Tiptuchi also looked over at Haiji, tilting her head with a hum. She seemed to be examining Haiji for a moment.
"Podríamos quedarnos atrapados allí, Jaxus podría matarlos a todos y luego estaremos jodidos. (We could get stuck there, Jaxus could kill them all and then we'll be screwed.)" Tiptuchi replied.
The conversation went on for a little while longer, the two seeming having a calm but obvious argument; until Tiptuchi spotted a woman coming towards them, she stepped forward just in front of Haiji and drew her gun to aim at her. Masaru now clinging onto Haiji's leg for protection as his sister watched the stranger incoming.
"Do you know this person?" She asked Haiji, but she didn't look away from the woman.
(Sorry! I hope you don't mind, I headcanon Masaru speaks Spanish 👉👈)
Being the usual saint that he was, Kazuma carried Monaca’s things while he focused on the group. He took his responsibilities seriously, a quality most would approve of in and outside of a zombie apocalypse. He just hoped Haiji and Nozomi would be alright.
“Stay close,” Kazuma called out to Tsubomi.
“Yes, Mom,” she hollered mockingly, dismissing him with a wave. She smirked back at Monaca. “That zombie’s so stupid. Let’s yank his limbs and smack him.”
———————————————————————
Haiji’s mood had gone from anxious desperation to exaggerated puzzlement. What kind of gibberish were they saying? Was it Italian? No, it couldn’t be Italian. Or maybe it was. Whatever language they were fluent in, he couldn’t decipher any of the words. Doing so only worked to overload the gears in his already emotionally wrecked mind.
“Okay, can you two put everything in words that I can understand? I feel like an idiot just listening in and waiting for you to finish. The on word I could get was Jaxus.”
Play dumb, Haiji. Don’t reveal what you already know.
“Who the fuck is Jaxus?” Haiji asked a bit too quickly when his image formed against his will. Fuck, now that he thought about it, he sort of looked like a zombie himself.
“Haiji! Haiji, thank goodness you’re—” Nozomi squeaked in horror and put her hands in the air when a gun pointed right at her. Bravery and fear warred within her eyes, her lips quivering. “P-P-P-Please, don’t shoot me!” She exclaimed with a high-pitched voice that could possibly break glass.
“Hey, hey!!” Haiji gripped Tiptuichi’s hand. The lavender color in his eyes blazed like wildfire. “Calm down! Nozomi’s my girlfriend, so put the gun away.” Each word was said slowly, with sharp emphasis.

So what would the order be if they set themselves up for success?
(Disclaimer, I haven't had the time to watch mr Jaffe have a go, so I am as of yet uninformed of that order.)
So far, I think Ashley's story remained the most intact. Since she is also the one who gets the most stressed, let's say she's the storyteller.
Second place, as the cast has established, is an advantageous position and usually does well, but I'd argue that it could be used to a fuller potential by placing a calm, coherent person there. As Matt does well going later, being better at reconstructing, let's say Taliesin. (No coffee or sleep deprivation included if at all possible) His slight loss of static could potentially help make the story easier to remember for later slots.
Next up, we should probably put one of the narrators. Either Travis or Marisha would do well here, I think. Marisha is a bit of an embellisher in her own right, but I'd argue she'd do well here. She'll add some stuff, but will do her best. However, it might be safer to slot Travis here as he does less well with chaotic energies like Sam and Laura, so going after the (hopefully) relative calm of Tal he could be at his strongest.
Because this calm will then hopefully transfer, next up I'd put Liam. It's still early enough for him to vibe with the original story, without getting lost in the tomfoolery. I'd argue he's also a little bit of a reconstructor, due to him being a giant nerd and excellent storyteller, so he'll hopefully transfer a fairly intact story AND calm Taliesin-Travis Energy to
Laura! (I know OP said Sam does well after Liam, but hear me out!) Out of all the narrators, I'd say Laura is the closest to Ashley, in that she embellishes and gets a bit stressed about it. Sure, Marisha also adds stuff, but I'd argue for Laura here because the T-T-Energy will hopefully help her through it. Marisha is much more resistant to tomfoolery, which is why in our next slot, we find-
Sam! Does well with Laura in general and will at this point hopefully filter out the most important bits. Details will be lost, but the general story is likely to remain in tact. Whatever bullshit comes out will hopefully be fixed by
EITHER Matt or Marisha. I think you could argue for both of them in last and second to last, but since Matt is the ultimate reconstructor we'll put him last, so he can fix any placenames/lore. Also, I'm gonna trust Marisha to be level headed in the face of Sam, because she's a boss.
Constructive criticism not only appreciated, but encouraged. Please discuss.
My observation of the Critical Role cast’s Narrative Telephone styles, after seeing them all at work over the course of this first cycle:
1. Liam is a mimic. He repeats the exact words, tones, and body language of the person he saw. This makes him a great person to go early on, but tends to amplify the static when in later positions, since he will boost any mistakes made by the person before him as well as adding his own.
2. Sam is an editor. He cuts out the parts he considers to be irrelevant or added after the original, and sometimes he mistakes a real part of the story for an irrelevant addition and cuts it. Good to go after Ashley or Liam.
3. Matt is a reconstructor. He takes what he heard and rewrites it as a story the way he would have told it, with his own knowledge of the setting and/or characters added back in. This makes him a good person to go late in the order.
4. To some extent, so is Taliesen, though he adds less gloss. He retells in a coherent whole, skipping over static or dithering, but may lose details thereby.
5. Ashley (surprisingly given her first round) is an embellisher. She adds in little visceral touches that she thinks makes the story more immediate or exciting, but she does tend to drop a lot of details in the process.
6. Travis, Laura, and Marisha are narrators. They tell the essence of the story as they heard and understood it, but tend to leave out details like exact dialogue or other gloss. They tend to do better going later in the order, when the story is already more streamlined and has fewer precise details to recall.
#critical role#narrative telephone#there's got to be an ideal arrangement#but also there isn't and it's beautiful chaos and I love and appreciate that
