Are you a DCU fan upset about the events happening in Gaza? Want to help raise money for Palestinians and contribute to the creation of more DCU fanworks? Then this is the event for you!

DCU Commissions for Palestine is a fan-led event inspired by many other successful fandom events that have raised money for Palestinians causes. This event will bring together fan artists and writers who will offer fanworks in exchange for donations.

Creator signups: July 1-15

Commissions open: July 20-August 10

Posting begins: August 17

We will be looking for DCU fan artists and writers. Any part of the DCU fandom is welcome- even crossovers!

Rules will be explained when we post the creator signup forms. Want to help in the meantime? Follow this account, reblog this post, and spread the word to all the DCU fans in your life! We are also currently accepting volunteers who want to help run/promote the event, and any physical item donations (DCU physical fanart, merch, comics, etc.). If you want to help run or promote the event or donate a physical item, just shoot us a message and we will be happy to provide you with more information! And of course, you do not need to wait for the event to support Palestine. The situation in Gaza grows more dire every day, and we encourage you to donate to any vetted fundraisers and charities if you have the means. Here is a list with some options.

We have:

Ratigan as the middle one, even if everyone is sure that he was the absolute first to pop out...how even old is this man? This is truly a mystery. He has a love-hate relationship with the younger brother, even if, in case the aforementioned brother would be in need help, no force would be strong enough to stop Ratigan to be there for him.

We have Sykes that's supposedly the oldest. Short tempered, always comes with hands with the middle one, '...too much, too much plotting, plotting, plotting! Chitter chattering-!' But still, he has a lot of respect for his brilliant mind.

Then John-! Well. He's the youngest. The ray of sunshine. The untouchable. Even Ratigan never pulled his hairs when was little. John has to be the responsible braincell. He's the mediator between his oldest brothers.

When the three of them are together, two full hours cannot pass, without a grumbling or complaining. But at the end of the day, they all had cooked, eaten, and tidied up the kitchen; the house is- maybe overly eccentric in some corners- but clean, and the bills at the end of the month payed and archived.

truly truly ecstatic over the fact that Oliver and Ryan seem to be on the same page about telling a story about a close intimate platonic relationship between a queer man and a straight guy. like yeah obviously it would be very cool if Buck and Eddie got together but do you know how tired I am of "the gay best friend is in love with the straight protagonist" trope? its exhausting and is ALWAYS a byproduct of heterosexuals writing gay people bc they think every gay person has to unequivocally be in love with the nearest straight person. it's so frustrating watching the audience treat the gay character as pathetic or desperate or at worst predatory or misogynistic towards the straight protags female love interests. that does way more harm than good and I'm happy we're all on the same page about that

I don't WANT another Toy Story movie. What I WANT is a cinematic universe that has the Great Mouse Detective, Basil of Baker Street as a founding member of the Rescue Aid Society, and the Rescue Rangers are an unlicensed, unsanctioned offshoot, because Chip and Dale got kicked out of the RAS by Director Bianca for being loose cannons.

Maps Mizoguchi - Monster Lore Expert

So this has been a neat detail / reoccurring skill which Maps has displayed in her post-Gotham Academy appearances.

Just thought these were pretty neat. Maps being shown to be adept at researching monsters quickly and being able to figure out what they are and even how to deal with them seems like a very fitting speciality for her which also helps her stand out a tad more amongst other holders of the Robin mantle.

Maps becoming some sort of monster hunter / occult detective seems like it would work great as a future direction for Maps, especially if she were to move on from Robin.

Hopefully this reoccurring skillset is a sign of things to come.

(Semi-related; but I kinda feel at least some of my complaints about Meridian would have been lessened had her time travel been magic-based rather than tech-based, but I digress and also don't want this post to turn into another "Prof Uber complains about Meridian.)

Tbh somewhat tempted to write a fanfic based on this developing concept of monster hunter / occult detective Maps. Perhaps teaming up with an Olive who has managed to gain control over her powers? Hm...

Maybe.

If I have the time/energy.
