Okay, so lemme ramble about the Wild Hunt for a sec, given the new episode, because I am certain there is/will be symbolism at play

Essentially, the Wild Hunt is this germanic (though there's many similar ones around the world) myth. It's this horde of spirits/ghosts that travels through the night on an eternal hunt. Crossing their path is generally seen as a big no-no and a good way to become part of the horde of hallowed dead stuck in the eternal hunt. The same goes for copying their sounds of howling wind (and sometimes barking dogs). However, either of these can be rewarded (usually with something that seems worthless and usually turns out to be gold)

Now, for that sweet symbolism. First of all, the Wild Hunt usually consisted of the hallowed dead. They didn't get to pass onto the afterlife, instead bring swept up by the hunt. In the story this more than likely is replaced by those floating eyeball thingies - the souls of those who got stuck in this world before the afterlife

What I'm more curious/concerned about though is who leads it. It's most certainly someone's Phantom, given the little card with abilities. But who could it be? Let's use some clues from both the episode and the myth

First, the episode. There's 3 main things to consider here. 1) this phantom was outside the gate (and thus also unlikely to be a dean or student). 2) your phantom has to do with how you die (this also ties in with the myths). 3) looking at it's abilities, it has something called 'overclock', and while this could be some sort of rage mode, I think it'd make more sense if it means that this Phantom form can stay up either for a long-ass time, or straight up indefinitely

Now, for the myths. The figure who leads the Hunt actually changes a lot depending on the specific telling, and it's been both men and woman. A largely common factor though is that they get stuck in the Hunt after exclaiming their love for hunting, and something along the lines of wishing they could do it forever (potentially specifically instead of an actual afterlife). Given the thing I said before, I think it's a fairly safe bet the person who's Phantom it is died hunting, or at the very least pursuing something

The person who leads the hunt also seems to be searching for Lenore specifically, which is interesting to me. The Wild Hunt generally hunts animals, not people. So I propose 2 possibilities:

1, mythological: The Wild Hunt, like I said, should generally not be interacted with according to most myths. A possibility is that Lenore or on of her predecessors did do that in some way, shape, or form. Maybe in the real world, but Phantoms can't really be there I think? Maybe someone else like her brother or parent were also in this between dimension and messed with it, though I don't believe that's how it generally works. But maybe that thing at the start of the story, where they got noticed by those monsters, was actually them getting noticed by the Hunt, which is why it's now after her (and likely Annabel too in that case)

2, relationship driven: Essentially, my other idea is that the Phantom that is the Hunt is going after Lenore specifically because of who she is. Maybe her father died or something? But in that case I think her brother is way more likely. Think about it, Theo was first looking for (pursuing?) Lenore. The tree got knocked down by lightning (one of the Phantom's abilities). And he was riding his horse when he was killed. Just saying, it could be possible

Also, interestingly enough, both Lenore and Annabel have a certain degree of connection to the Night Hunt? Lenore has already denounced the 'natural' way passing onto the afterlife is supposed to go in favour of having herself and all her friends coming back to life, somewhat reminiscend of the leaders of the hunt commonly rejecting the afterlife in favour of their hunt. And the woman that led the Hunt in some stories likely all stem from the same figure, the supposed Old Mother Frost (and what, if I may ask you, is Annabel's ability?)

No matter who it is though, I'm hoping they touch on that idea of someone who crosses the Wild Hunt (and shows cleverness/boldness) sometimes gets rewarded. And while is generally looks useless at first, it often turns out to be valuable. Who knows, this endeavor just might be the key to escaping...

...well, that or I'm looking way too deep into it and the writer just chose the Wild Hunt because it looks/sounds cool and vaguely fitting of spirits of the night coming to get you. I mean, most thing I just said are honestly closest to incoherent rambling with vague connections, but who knows...

I think it could be Theo? We know SOMETHING happened to him as he was at the top of his class. Was he reincarnated? I doubt it. Theo is also connected with deer and hunting. Would also explain why the Wild Hunt (which Lenore thinks is her curse) seems to be targeting her and her family.

you’re lying in bed on your back, eyes closed and earbuds in.  your skills at zoning out are strong, so you’re not very aware of your surroundings. you don’t have any plans for today, but your friends and boyfriend like to stop by unannounced, so you don’t particularly expect to be left alone all day. 

that’s why you’re not that surprised when you feel someone's weight drop on top of you. you pause your music and pull out your earbuds, looking up slightly to see a mop of curly blond hair. laughing quietly, you gently run your fingers through your boyfriend’s hair, and he leans into your touch. 

“what’s goin’ on channie?” he seems more tired than usual, which is saying something. he mumbles something in response, but his face is still buried in your chest so you can’t actually tell what he’s saying. 

“love, i can’t hear you.” 

he lifts his head up to look at you, and his expression almost reminds you of an upset puppy, “people don’t know how to do their jobs. i came in and nobody had finished their part of the project, you could tell they all expected me to finish it for them. so now i’m doing the entire project myself.”

you frown, knowing that being one of the best students in the music department meant people assumed chan would do their work for them if they asked. you’ve given plenty of students deadly side-eye when they tried to bother chan, but most of them just try again when you’re not there. 

“can you tell your professor?” 

chan just shakes his head, “i don’t wanna tell the professor because that’d give them the chance to get their shit together. i’ll just do the project myself and leave their names off of it, their loss.”

you laugh quietly, appreciating the pettiness. you were probably a bad influence, but because of chan’s default sweetheart personality, you were glad he wasn’t letting people take advantage of him anymore. 

“if there’s any way i can help let me know, alright?” 

“you have your own classes to work on, i don’t wanna use up your work time.” 

you shake your head, “the biggest assignment i have right now is my end of semester project for my visual arts class, my team for the year end fashion show is actually ahead of where we need to be since we’re all prone to hyperfocusing on the work.” 

chan grumbled slightly, “imagine having a team that do their work, what a concept.” 

you gently scratch at his scalp, still running your fingers through his hair, “is there anyone else in your class you could team up with? maybe not for this project, but for future ones?” 

chan shrugs, “i try not to interact with people unless they interact with me first, i don’t need to prompt people to bug me.” 

you snort, knowing how he feels. people used to treat you the same way, the difference is you’re just a lot more intimidating than him, and people figured out pretty quickly that you weren’t gonna do their work for them. 

“i think one of my friends was talking about his boyfriend needing a new team for his assignment, i’m pretty sure another one of our friends is in a similar situation… lemme ask real quick.” 

he hums in confirmation and you grab your phone from where it sat abandoned on the low shelf next to your bed, quickly putting in your passcode and opening the ‘dance hoes’ groupchat. you know each other because of how often the performance and fashion departments work together, everyone in the chat had done modeling for you at some point. 

you send a quick text, ‘hey can the catboys get online?’

quickly you get responses from two of the other chat members, both asking what was going on, one much more kindly than the other. you’re pretty sure chan has fallen asleep on you, but you keep playing with his hair as you ask the pair about what they’d mentioned earlier. 

they both give quick confirmation, and you explain your idea. both disappear for a second, before confirming that their boyfriends were down to meet up with everyone. you decide to work out a meeting time later, so you set aside your phone and curl up with chan, tugging a blanket over both of you and closing your eyes, falling asleep in your boyfriend’s arms.

LEMME HEAR YOUR UNHINGED TMA RANTS! <3

Oooh I think I've already posted a lot of my rants but one of the characters who I haven't really had a whole rant on is Martin K blackwood.

THIS MAN. This man is so wonderfully written. A lot of characterisations of the "nice one" are quite flat and don't really expand much on them being nice apart from maybe giving the person low self esteem. What I love about Martin is how masterfully it uses that sort of prototype of a character and makes it much more gut wrenching and relatable. He starts off as sort of the office dunce from Jon's pov, which early on we also realise is unreliable. He's the bumbling idiot, the sweet fool and I get it. As a fat person, I feel like a lot of us feel pressured to be the comic relief or to put it more precisely, the one to be laughed at. And he's seen the gap in the archives, he's seen that role that needs to be filled and he's easily filled it. When you have the group of Tim and Sasha and then Jon, the only thing that could unite them is mutual awkward laughter towards Martin. And Martin is used to seeing what's there and filling the gaps, man is a people pleaser to a fault, he has had to guess what his mum didn't like about him and change accordingly, getting it wrong every time. He makes himself palatable which is so REAL especially for a fat person and/or traumatised people.

And then we see this more calculating side of him. He LIED to all his colleagues and his BOSS about a qualification to get a job and then kept that lie going for at least a couple of months. Listen, I don't think it's fair to label Martin as completely a manipulative calculating guy who's just put on a mask but it's also not exactly fair to characterise him as just a sweet, tea making guy who wears jumpers. And that's what I love about him. He's so complex. I feel like it delves into the idea of having both a saviour complex as well as an inferiority complex. He's had to make choices that are above his skillset early in his life and frequently, he's been blamed for causing other people's emotions so he naturally thinks he has control over how other people feel. Which gives him that sense of responsibility, like I can save anyone cause I can control their emotions, if I'm nice enough then they won't be mad/ill/sad/they'll love me. But at the same time, these sort of underhand methods of indirect communication don't resonate to him as causing any damage cause he doesn't actually think he's important enough to cause damage or have an impact on other people's lives

I don't think it's of any shock to anyone that my favourite Martin is angry Martin. It's the part that fights against both aspects of this inferiority/saviour complex because it 1. Is a path of direct communication. He has the opportunity to state exactly how he is feeling and the focus is on that rather than how can I get the other person to respond. 2. It recognises that he is important. Anger is in response to perceived injustice, frustration, annoyance and all of those things are in a way, self preserving. Obviously it's not good to do that too much (see: Tim Stoker) but there you go. I'm not saying angry Martin is perfect or anything but I'm saying that it's so satisfying and interesting to see cause it completely goes against the characterisation we've been given so far and it introduces a whole new facet to Martin - that he doesn't want to be ruled by his trauma and past experiences.

It's honestly a joy to see Martin develop into someone who fights more against the role he's been "given" while simultaneously playing into it. His whole Peter Lukas arc is very much a part of that. Essentially he's saying I'm not important enough to contribute the way you are (inferiority) but I'm still going to try and control things behind the scenes (saviour). So when Jon goes to save him it breaks that, he looks him in the eyes and tells him you, Martin K Blackwood are Important, you make an impact and you Mean Something. You don't have to save us all. It's such an important part of his character arc and honestly it blows me away every time I think about it.

Plus obviously the whole isolation thing is just so AGH it's just so built in to his character it makes complete sense that he has a tendency to isolate himself. It fulfills both the inferiority and saviour - he doesn't think he's important enough to be missed but also he feels like it'll push them into missing him. Solving the problem and putting himself down in one fell swoop.

Our final stage of Martin is one that is far from perfect, far from healed but absolutely closer than he was at the beginning. He shows more of himself, in working towards realising he makes an impact on people, telling jokes and just sharing his thoughts to Jon. So what does him stabbing Jon mean for this? Honestly I'm not entirely sure (I'm gonna be honest I did not realise this rant would be so long lol) but I'm thinking along the lines of this is an ultimate show of acceptance of his significance and rejection of his need to save people. He is committing the most direct act of all, he's doing this in the same need to help people but instead of being manipulative about it, he's just directly doing what needs to be done. But also he's not saving Jon, he's doing the complete opposite. He couldn't control Jon's response to the situation, as much as he wanted to, so he did what jon wanted. I might not be explaining this right cause I'm not entirely sure what I mean either but I'm trying to say it's a poetic end. It's separate from everything he was but in a way that's parallel to and pays homage to his struggles. He's still being sort of a saviour and he's still arguably not the most important person in this scenario but the point is that it's in a different way than he's used to. In my opinion, a better way.

Anyway yeah thank you for enabling me, I didn't know how much I needed this rant and I didn't know I had so much to say lol. <3

reaper feels bad for him. he isn’t even allowed to actually die, just experience death over and over, only to be thrust back into this torturous cycle.

imagine dust dying in the hall, he’s stumbling away and he just. sees the grim reaper. and he’s like oh shit. well then. *gets thrown back whenever they decide to reset*

reaper visiting a lot because, well, he’s dying a lot, he’s probably gotta. imagine a scenario where they actually get to talk. but its so so brief, dust is never dead very long, and reaper probably shouldn’t interfere otherwise…

(he’d also, be witnessing the deaths of the aus other residence, which. interesting. wonder what they have to say about things. and what reapers response may be.)

(of course this is assuming they interact after death, which i think makes sense with common depictions of the reaper at least)

dust probably chalks him up to a vision he’s having, or hallucination, when he dies, but maybe when he’s given more time, they can have broken up conversations.

i think of reaper could come to respect genos desires and motives, he’d feel the same towards dust. reaper always strikes me as a really lonely person, and dust is too for obvious reasons.

i’m imagining a scenario where reaper is just. real bored of just watching. so he starts like following dust around so he can see him. and dusts like ah. cool. fucking phantom ass to add to the list. i’m imagining reaper telling him like no, i’m very real dude, and dust is like haha ok, lemme touch you then

…for obvious reasons he can’t let him touch him💀💥 but that would probably make dust assume he is in fact a hallucination. but that’s ok. he’s an ODDLY nice hallucination.

I felt That the crew wanted to do so much with the show but felt they had no idea writing Luz, however they too had there drawbacks, Yes I LOVE LUZS CHARACTER AND SHE IS SELFLESS A GOOD FRIEND (even if it’s the wrong person) Loyal, and cheerful. How we get moments that

Luz's character can be bastardized!

i feel fans try to view her as this bubbly girl boss, we know and love, however we overlook her flaws cause of discourse. she’s this impressionable, unruly, explosive girl with self imaging issues & unresolved grief, that effected her lifestyle.

I truly do depict her as a girl failure which ill get to a list of reasons, I’ll be getting into

Now let’s get down to reasons why, she gets to the way she is.

Luz wants to do so much for others, that she hasn't practiced learning about self-love and acceptance, it all backtracks in her past of her deceased father & trying to relate to earth kids with opposite interests that can be harmful.

I felt they truly had fun time to an extent how they can push her in a negative direction, (this goes for hunter which I’ll do a post/video soon.)

how they wanted her to be more of an edge lord along the series run, (and the proper writing of the show didn’t help.)

Heck to the point in season 3, she never interacted with anyone on earth in her school, which is concerning, cause that can lead to self-harm or failed relationships, also known people as kikimora or talking to her other friends in season 3 coulda gave her a wake up call.

ALSO CAN WE BRING UP LYING TO HER LOVE ONES OUT OF NO WHERE! Season 1

DRAGGING THEM THROUGH MORTAL PERIL IN SEASON 2!

AND NO NEURODIVERAGENCE DOESNT EXCUSE BAD BEHAVIOR OR BLACK FEATURES BEING MINIMIZED.

2.They should've let a POC (person of color) write Luz cause of how she turned out Personality-wise throughout the series, which I rewatched, along critic videos and yes even in season 3 they decided to make her some shonen wannabe edge lord,(A wannabe Pokemon Goh But more emo.)

Luz's is flawed, as a character & written wise, felt the show didn’t know how to write for POC, cause fans who are another ethnicity might view this, and say oh, where portrayed as this etc, but without our black features or even how where portrayed in society in social norms.

Yes I did a post on her fashion & wardrobe and how it affects a character, boy they got my girl looking a hobo at times. ( and the good so called hair symbolism could’ve made Luz even better.)

ALSO (I may be ranting but hope ya listen)

Hated how they tried to Mary Sue her at certain episodes when she's faced with problems or issues that can affect everyone in dire times, for example,

her willingness to learn magic, which she can be impressionable and wanting Praise for the wrong reasons, but To be loved I Understand.

She is a person wanting acceptance and tolerance ( which that whole wanting to be understood season 3 dialogue could've been for season 1), just to be liked by a new world, would have fleshed out her character more, and given the viewers and her friends reasoning why she does staggering things.

also when she wanted to get to learn magic from her sensei, Knowing Eda knew how unpredictable & reckless at times luz can be, but Eda has her issues. throughout 4 episodes I think its been dragged out she has done stupid things to put others in harm's way even OWLBERT.

3.she can act nonchalant & ambivalent in dire situations, (to the point her friends should've Gotten angry with her actions, GUS AND WILLOW PERIOD) But don't worry all that's being glazed with the Mary Sue trope, discourse, & her being submissive to amity,

which she can take many stabbings and hits for a cause you know all is well with a Good ship. INSERT SARCASM

tragically i do feel she ended up a girl failure, But they Try hard at girl bossing her up, cause she was put in situations where she didn't have dire punishments and consequences. plus excepting a power she had no choice accepting at the season finale,

Summary: Brock takes you away to a log cabin for a long weekend. You bring your dogs along and when fresh snow falls, you have an idea involving the sleds you found in the garage and your pooches.

A/N: short little note, I named the dogs after two characters from one of my favorite movies

The pristine blanket of white covered everything from the bare tree branches down to the blacktop driveway. Mother nature had given you a fresh white canvas to gaze at while drinking your morning coffee.

A wide smile stretched across your lips when the dogs leaped onto the back of the couch to look out the window with you. With their tongues out, they almost looked like they were smiling as they continued to look out the window while wagging their tails.

There was at least a foot of new snow out there.

Brock had taken you away up north for a long weekend and judging from his reaction when he pulled back the curtains of the log cabin, revealing the deep snow drifts in the yard, he may have regretted that decision.

With his lips firmly pressed together, he shook his head slowly back and forth as the large flakes of snow silently fell from the sky.

It wasn’t done snowing yet.

“What’s that for, Rumlow?” You asked. “You don’t like the snow?”

In a gruff tone, he replied, “I don’t like having to shovel a path so the dogs can do their business.”

The two Cane Corso’s, still on the couch, whined in his direction.

“See…they know you’re talking about them.” You chuckled.

Putting on his snow boots and winter coat, Brock pointed at the dogs and said, “Don’t let them out until I’ve made a path for them out back.”

Ripley and Hicks whined again.

“No…you two do NOT get to come outside yet.” He scolded them.

Still holding your coffee, you stood up and walked over to where Brock was and gave him a kiss on the cheek. His stubble tickled your lips and he quickly turned his head so his lips connected with yours. They were warm and tasted like black coffee.

Warming your hands on your coffee mug, your lips curled into a half smile.

“Ok, well I’ll be here warming myself by the fire. Lemme know when you’re done and I’ll let them out.” You said, walking over to the fireplace.

“Thanks for rubbin’ it in, doll.” Said Brock, walking over to the sliding glass door that led out onto the deck.

The dogs jumped off of the couch and pressed their noses against the glass to watch as Brock started to clear the snow from the deck. Their ears perked up when you mentioned food so they followed you into the kitchen and waited patiently by their bowls for their breakfast.

While Ripley and Hicks ate, you stood at the sink washing the dishes and looked out the window at Brock. A smile played across your lips thinking about how sweet he was to arrange this weekend getaway for the two of you, plus the dogs.

You know he didn’t come off as sweet and cuddly; a lot of the time, your friends and family said sometimes he comes off rather grouchy and angry but they didn’t know him like you did. He was very sweet, he treated you well and even though he didn’t always say it, you knew he loved you.

When you arrived at the cabin, Brock pulled into the garage and you noticed there were a couple of sleds hanging on the wall. Suddenly you had an idea; there were two sleds and two dogs.

Quickly, you threw some clothes on and bundled up to go outside.

“I’m almost done, sweetheart! You can let them out in a minute!” Brock called out to you as you stepped out onto the deck.

He started to walk back toward the deck and motioned to you, letting you know that it was ok for you to let them out. You made a mental note to make sure you clean the glass door before leaving; the dogs left their nose prints all over it.

When you slid the door open, they took off running down the stairs and into the snow toward Brock. The picturesque carpet of white was now being kicked up by the gray and black dots jumping up and down in the snow.

The two of them played with each other as Brock made his way up onto the deck.

A snowflake landed on the tip of your nose as Brock leaned in to gently press his lips to yours. “I thought you were waiting by the fire, doll?”

Excitedly, you bit down on your lower lip and raised your eyebrows.

“I was but then I remembered there are sleds in the garage!!” You said, jumping up and down.

Little snowflakes were stuck in his eyelashes.

“What?” He asked.

“Come on! Let’s see if the dogs are strong enough to pull us. I’ll go get the sleds, you get their harnesses!” You said.

Brock knew he wasn’t going to be able to talk you out of it. He tried to stifle his smile but it didn’t work; he loved to see you excited and happy so he just shook his head and stepped inside briefly to get the harnesses for the dogs.

“Oh, get a couple of their treats so they have something to chase!” You shouted on your way to the garage.

“This isn’t gonna work, doll.” Brock said with doubt in his voice as he strapped the harness on Hicks.

“RIPLEY!! Come here, girl! Of course it will work. Have you seen our dogs? They’re huge; they’ll be able to pull us, no problem.” You said with an excited smile. “First one to make it in between those two bushes, wins.”

Brock’s amber colored eyes appeared more gold against the perfect white backdrop. His mouth curled up into a half smile but then it disappeared when he saw you hooking Ripley up to your sled.

“Whoa, hang on a second, y/n. How come you get Ripley?” Asked Brock.

Your mouth split into a sly smile and you narrowed your eyes at him. “I think the better question is, why don’t you want Hicks?” You asked, bending at the waist and kissing Hicks on the top of the head as the gray Cane Corso tried to lick your cheek.

“Ok fine, I’ll say it. He ain’t too bright, doll.” He said in a disappointed tone.

“Are you calling our dog, dumb, Rumlow?” You asked sarcastically with a chuckle. “He follows Ripley wherever she goes, he’ll be fine.”

It was almost comical the way Brock looked at Hicks.

You pouted and gave him the sad eyes. “Look at him.” Pointing at Hicks. “You’re hurting his feelings, baby.”

Brock playfully glared at you and reluctantly attached the harness to Hicks, then to the sled and you did the same for Ripley.

With the treats in your hands and extras in your pocket, you sat down on your sled and Brock sat on his. The tip of your nose tingled; it was starting to feel a little numb in the chilly winter air.

“Do I get a prize if I win, sweetheart?” Brock asked. His voice was extra raspy being out in the cold.

“I’ll make you hot chocolate and you get bragging rights.” You said.

“Sounds fair.” He replied.

You let the dogs smell the treats in your hand.

“Ready? GO!!”

You released the treats from your hands and the dogs took off running. The snow was very powdery and fluffy so it was easy for Ripley and Hicks to pull you in the sleds. They kicked up snow into your faces as they gained speed toward the opening between the two bushes.

Ripley was ahead but only by a little bit and as you got closer to the finish, you could see out of the corner of your eye that Hicks had drifted close to the edge of the bush which meant if he didn’t move over, Brock would end up IN the bushes.

You could hear Brock yelling at the dog to move over but obviously Hicks wasn’t listening. He was too busy running after that treat and trying to catch up with Ripley. Your sled crossed the finish line just ahead of Brock’s but Hicks pulled the sled right into the bush and Brock ended up flying face first into the piles of snow on top of the bushes.

“AH FUCK!! STUPID DOG!!!” Brock bellowed.

With snow stuck to his face, he emerged from behind the bushes. You tried to bite back a smile but you failed miserably and exploded into a full belly laugh. The dogs looked very pleased with themselves so you made sure to give them their treats on your way to see if Brock was ok.

Still laughing, you asked him, “You ok, baby? You shoulda bailed when you noticed you were headed for the bush.”

His cheeks were flushed and both sides of his face looked like they had been pinched hard.

“Yeah well, I wouldn’t have won if I bailed out, now would I?” He said.

Biting down on your lower lip, you tried your best to stop laughing. “But you didn’t win anyway, Brock.”

He pointed at Hicks.

“You’re lucky I don’t make you sleep outside.”

Hicks just wagged his tail and jumped up on Brock to try and give him a kiss.

“Come on, handsome. I’ll make you some hot chocolate anyway.” You said, calling the dogs to follow you inside.

Brock was walking behind you and before you could step through the sliding glass door, he pulled you backwards by the hips so your backside was flush with his front and his hands were resting just above your core.

Suddenly, you weren’t cold anymore.

“How ‘bout you warm me up instead, doll?” He husked softly in your ear, sending shivers down your spine.

You leaned back to place a soft kiss on his cheek.

“Well I think that sounds like a better plan than hot chocolate.”

wait im new to mass effect and am romancing thane for hot dilf reasons pls tell me all about vakarios, i only ever see people talk about garrus not thane

Oh BOY anon you’ve got a big thing coming on my vakarios brain rot Okok SO sit back and lemme just word dump on you on why and how I just really love me vakarios so much:

SO first things first don’t get me wrong I am a huge sucker for thane/Shepard, garrus/Shepard and specifically thane/shepard/garrus because i have personal headcanons etc and my canon is always Shakarios BUT vakarios is my thane/garrus part of all this

I love the idea of garrus/thane realizing they have a lot of parallels to eachother and thane seeing a bit of himself in garrus:

Example:

Thane talks about being in battlesleep for 10 years after the death of his wife Irikah where he basically went on a revenge quest and killed everyone involved in her murder. He comes to realize he made a mistake in terms of not staying with Kolyat and ultimately revenge not giving him the fulfillment he needed.

Garrus can be labeled as a man who is going through his own battlesleep after Shepard dies. For 2 years he basically said fuck it and went to omega to “clean up” and seek Justice against the criminals that he couldn’t take down in c-sec. It’s implied that he was devastated after Shepard died no matter if fem/bro shep and then it just snowballs when he’s betrayed by Sidonis. Garrus falls into his own small form of battlesleep given you can’t really talk to him much as Shepard until he tells you about his revenge quest for a loyalty mission.

I like to see the Normandy crew in me2 as a ragtag group of people who come together and become something of a family so they all get to see the ugliest and best sides of eachother and I love the concept thane and garrus would become good friends based off being snipers at first but then relating over the histories they’ve had. Thane is able to relate to Garrus’s seeking of revenge and has a different perspective over it.

Now when you play as Shepard and you go the route of stopping him from killing Sidonis consider that you’re kind of replicating the whole thing that thane went through with Irikah. Irikah stepped in thane’s way to stop him from killing someone and Shepard is doing the same for garrus.

It’s not until after this that Garrus will begin to see things clearer and differently and I love the concept of both thane and garrus realizing they have so much in common. This also can happen if Sidonis is killed. Garrus may be filled with that void of it not really helping him solve anything. He killed him via battlesleep and is barely coming out of it with the help of Shepard and crew.

Another thing is Garrus isn’t a stranger to losing someone close to him because of illness. His mother becoming sick etc has him as one of the only people on the Normandy who would probably know how to care for and make things as relaxing/comfortable for someone going through something similar (thane w his keprals) and like consider them just bonding over this in general.

And last but not least thane and his dry fuckin humor would make him and Garrus really close.

All in all I am a fan of every ship/crackship/rarepair etc because It’s fun to pair characters so i know vakarios isn’t for everyone but hell it makes me happy and lots of possibilities for it so :3 thanks for letting me ramble anon.

i love mercury SO much and despite it largely being the reason for my adhd, it absolutely dominates my chart (along with my outer planets) and is so powerful that it colors my sun more gemini than taurus (especially since i literally dont have any other earth placement except for my lilith in virgo- im all water/fire/air 🙏🙏)

I just read ' A new chapter' and I loved getting to find out more of the fairy lore!! I was just wandering though, as you hinted at fairies being quite powerful, ( or at least enough to make Tamlin nervous or shock him) were they a part of the war? Did they fight in it?

Originally I wouldn't have bagged them the kind to get involved in conflict (goes against their nature like you mentioned) but now seeing a glimpse of fairy's abilities it made me wonder if she would be the type of person to just sit by and let Hybern wreck the land...because I think not??

Anyway I love wings universe so so much, I'm obsessed with this world!!!

Also I love that this has got you thinking about the bigger picture, I think after fairy displaying some semblance of power and we’re seeing for the first time a different side to her (that she’s not afraid to stand up for the things she believes in, that there’s a fire within her)

I think I’ve emphasised quite a lot that she’s EXTREMELY dedicated to her work, and anything that could be a threat to the lands balance essentially goes against that so I do believe the fairies fought in the war. Just perhaps in a different way.

Now don’t get me wrong, she’s powerful. Not as powerful as a High Lord though 🤣 Tamlin’s shock/nerves came from a place of him not realising fairies withheld that kind of power. And I like this assumption that most fae also don’t realise, that fairies are kind of overlooked and seen as “glorified gardeners” which we all know they are so much more! But I like the idea of fae seeing them lesser than, or at least assuming they’re reasonably weak creatures.

I like to believe the fairies did fight in the war, and I was kind of toying with this idea of fairy having a conversation with the IC and them playfully making a point that they wouldn’t choose fairies on their team in a fight or something (not exactly sure what) but it essentially opens this can of worms, as fairy is upset that her friends ALSO believe the assumption that fairies are weak. (Not in a malicious way, but they do later realise they’ve obviously hurt her.)

And perhaps then she tells them about how the fairies did fight in the war, that they held the line in a different part of prythian maybe? Hybern had sent a diversion to destroy one of the courts perhaps and the fairies fought against them (I can totally imagine them using nature and also pairing up with beasts to defeat them) anyway I think fairy maybe tells them she lost a lot of friends in the war, who died fighting for this land and its creatures and just because they didn’t declare it or were gain title or rank or were given medals or trophies doesn’t mean that they didn’t also bare sacrifice etc

Anyway I went off on a massive tangent here lol but yeah lemme know what you think 🤣🤣

An alternate take on "Encanto" (2021)

Back to my rewrites! Everyone raves about this movie, but I've got some things I'd rework, personally.

Have Luisa and Isabela play larger roles in the story with Mirabel. It was easy for me to forget Luisa was Mirabel's sister since they don't really interact much, and she and Isabela need more time for their arcs to fully flourish. Examples include placing "Surface Pressure" later in the film so that her breakdown is more gradual as she keeps bottling up her emotions, as well as Isabela's breakdown being less obvious and more of a surprise to the audience, as she's more convincing about going along with Alma's wishes. We could also get a scene where Agustin comforts Luisa after she loses her gift, having a similar moment to Fa Zhou and Mulan.

2. DON'T FORGET ANTONIO! It was stated that Antonio is like a little brother to Mirabel, but he weaves in and out of the story, his most important role being discovering his powers and providing Bruno with a new vision cave in his room. It'd be fun to see him tag along with Mirabel, Luisa, and Isabela.

3. Flesh out Dolores' feelings for Mariano, and make Mariano feel like a person with substance. She only mentions it for short periods of time in WDTAB and AOY, and it comes across as very unsatisfying. When she confessed to him, I was like "Oh yeah, I forgot she liked him." Plus maybe alter Mariano a bit; the general vibe is that since he has a lot of love to give, he's quick to rush things, but I like the idea that he gets to know people a bit better to show he's serious about being in love (and idk if Dolores was serious about him wanting a lot of kids, but I think that'd also be a factor for him being careful with who to give his heart). With Mariano, he's kinda used for laughs, falling in love at random and being Isabella's punching bag twice, with Mirabel referring to him as a big, dumb, hunk. He's more of a plot device than a character. I'd probably rewrite him so that he has a crush on Isabella, which his mother (or was she his grandmother) encourages similar to Alma pushing Isabela. Given his romanticism and similar mindset of pleasing the family, he essentially only focuses on Isabela since he thinks the marriage is happening without question and tells himself to only focus on her perfectionism, inadvertently stifling her individuality.

4. Embrace Mirabel's parents more. A big part of the story is how alone Mirabel feels, but at times it makes her parents look bad. They pose for a picture without her and they don't stand up for her until AFTER she goes missing. Plus I feel like their feelings about the family aren't focused on since they've already gotten used to it; seeing how inferior Agustin feels and how as the oldest, Julieta feels like she has to be perfect would've been a nice touch.

5. Dolores has telepathy. Dolores knowing what everyone says at the EXACT moment they say it as well as knowing that the rats were concerned about the magic despite lacking animal communication (though Antonio could've told her, she mentioned it like she knew it firsthand) feels like she has telepathy rather than purely having superhuman hearing.

THE HORNINESS RULES AGAIN!!! Same anon as the previous dino hybrid ask and well, the preggo Itto with a smaller Y/N partner ask + a few previous asks, and lemme tell you, this blog gives my brain a lot of fuel and this one cracky sort of thought has been in my brain for a while. (I seriously need to come up with an anon moniker at some point. lol)

So it's odd that Caelus and Stelle look a little bit like Nanook, right? The shaggy silver hair, golden eyes, black/white and gold/yellow accents, etc? Plus even being glanced at for their recklessness in the story which is odd and all of that stuff, but hear me out…

What if the Trailblazer was the child of Nanook? For this, both the male and female trailblazer will be used as I enjoy the thought of them as twins.

Nanook had a previous 'liaison' with Akivili, the Aeon of the Trailblaze, and it was nothing more than a simple sexual encounter in a more mortal form to let off steam before Akivili continued on their way to trailblaze to the furthest unknown frontiers of the universe. Nanook thought nothing of it, even as their very core seemed to change a bit afterwards, with the most changes coming to their temporary mortal shell. Especially around their belly growing large and taut.

It is a long time before they feel their body begin to burn with pain, liquid seeping out from between their legs and having the urge to begin to push something out of their belly. Nanook labors in pain as red blood and golden ichor leave their pussy, when something burns at the ring of muscles that feels hard and almost too big to pass through. It is all a blur before two, tiny bodies leave them, covered in their golden ichor and red blood before both begin to immediately squall loudly.

The Aeon of Destruction has no idea what to do, and it is only by sheer instinct that they take both of the tiny creatures into their arms, still connected by the cords that gave them both life before being born. Nanook laughs at somehow creating something instead of destroying as they hold a pair of healthy twins that look so much like them… but also Akivili.

Both babes continue to wail loudly in their parent's arms, slowly dying down into distressed hiccups and sobs as Nanook finds themselves gently cooing over their children, covering them in their tattered robes to keep them warm. The twins soon end up latching onto their chest and suckling, catching the Aeon off guard as the babies feed in earnest with the milk they somehow are producing.

The twins are healthy and strong, just like their sire, which makes Nanook chuff in amusement. Leave it to the Aeon of the Trailblaze to leave a piece of themselves behind no matter where they went. But a foreign feeling rises in Nanook's chest, a feeling of… parental love, as they watch their children suckle away in their sleep.

It is a boy and a girl, and while they had no idea who was born first, the Aeon didn't care. They were both theirs, and nothing could change that. Two names came to mind from the chatter of Akivili gave them before they left so long ago, and those names will belong to their children. Caelus and Stelle. The two impossibilities given life by they who brought Destruction.

Hello, sorry for my silence!

I've been super scatter brained these past weeks, and if not that, than completely blah in the inspiration department.

I was honestly picking at possible concepts for other stories in the future, and my brain has been bouncing around a lot. And working on Book 3 a bit. But now I'm back to Book 1 and still figuring out scenes to add to pad things out, as one anon suggested!

Lemme tell you, I've been watching Supernatural, ya'll. I never quite got into it while it was airing, though I did bits and pieces. I'm nearing the end of Season 3- still leaning toward Sam more than Dean lmao, like it matters. It's been inspiring though! It's given some small ideas, helped me think. Kinda glad I wasn't into it back then. I think it's made watching it now way more enjoyable.

I'm adding a scene to Book 2 that, I think, will make it to the final version, as I'm liking what it adds, no matter how minute. I got things to add to Book 1, like a tidbit of detail in the exposition, and a scene I came up with some days ago. I also got a new possible ending for Book 1 and a new one for Book 3. Which, if the latter happens, you guys will probably me hella mad at me.

since I started liking/posting stuff related to the funny boomer Minecraft Youtubers playing an improv death game, I'm probably gonna post more opinion or lore posts occasionally when I have time; the Life Series is like one of my pet obsessions I circle back to every time a new season comes up like most people.

(to my friends/other followers who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sorry)

I don't usually watch the main Hermitcraft/other SMP videos because they aren't my thing compared to the Life Series SMPs, but I do enjoy what the creators put out and they all deserve lots of praise for the hard work they've put in (especially after a lot of unwarranted criticism lately over Secret Life + Hermitcraft Season 9)

and now for a scorching hot take that will disappoint a lot of fans

I really like the Desert Duo...but only platonically, and lemme tell you "platonic" and "Hermitcraft/Life Series fanart" go together about as well as water and oil

I'm already not a fan of shipping in general as a personal taste, but when it comes to shipping real content creators, my discomfort is doubled. If you ship them I'm not gonna hate on you or ask you to stop, you're free to do as you like and I'm not the internet police.

That being said, Grian and Scar are super close friends iRL (if you include Mumbo, I consider them a "DO NOT SEPARATE" trio) and it's honestly really heartwarming to see them in other series just goofing around and even doing RL meet-ups (mostly Grian/Mumbo). To me I've always loved seeing really close friendships like these, and I will try to refrain from snarking about how people on the internet are really bad at distinguishing Philia love (friendship, really deep friendship) from Eros (romantic love).

The point is, I kinda feel uncomfortable when I see shipping of them cuz it feels like willfully misinterpreting the bond of actual real people. I know a lot of people say "separate the CCs from their personas in the series/lore," and I understand why, but the whole practice doesn't sit well with me. It almost feels like instead of creating something actually derivative of the real people, it's like smooching two dolls that just happen to be labelled "Grian" and "Scar". And as a writer myself for other things, I really like to pay respect to the subject matter I'm writing about, and that includes real people. And considering Grian iRL is a straight married man who's said before he doesn't really like the shipping (Scar to my knowledge has not given his opinion on it), it feels even more uncomfy to me when people try to ship him with one of his actual close best friends.

Yes in a way the real people are separate from the personas they put in Hermitcraft or the Life Series. They're like actors, doing it for the job and the sake of us the audience. (Considering I'm a big fan of Vtubers, I'm very acquainted with this paradox) Even still I can't help but always be cognizant of how they're still real people trying to put out their heart and soul to the public, and we enjoy what they do with deep respect for what they're doing. Shipping, especially if they've voiced their disapproval for it (even though they haven't banned it), feels just a tinge not respecting them as actual people, and feels a bit parasocial-y.

But again these are just my personal feelings, this is NOT a hate/call-out post to anyone in the fandom or demanding anyone to stop shipping the hermits. That being said you're likely to not get any out of me for the reasons I've stated above.

and a side note to talk about lore specifically, I just think platonic Desert Duo (for the Life Series specifically) is even more interesting than taking the romantic lens, because we can still have the angst and the doomed narrative and the unsaid trust between Grian and Scar, and still be able to celebrate each of them individually as respective players/creators, without having to make every achievement they make be about 'oooo because fate'

I haven't seen anyone yet posit the theory that (CHARACTER) Grian has distanced himself from (CHARACTER) Scar not because of just trauma but also that Grian thinks Scar is perfectly capable of holding on his own (shenanigans and carelessness aside). Like he's known Scar long enough to trust that he can survive on his own, and thinks that they should try to not hold each other back, and depending on who you ask this was either a really good or REALLY REALLY BAD CALL in Secret Life (because Scar did win on his own merits, but was left all alone)

Ariel and Eric for bottom Vox x Alastor is so cute. Like hold on lemme post gifs too but listen to this bruh, like Vox is definitely the one to run off every so often and BAM...what's this creature that walks on...sticks?? Twigs?? Like BROO IM FINNA DRAW THIS LISTEN TO ME

anyway Vox is curious and of course he's told not to go, I'm thinking maybe instead of the family scenario in the little mermaid, Valentino could be like Ariel's father. Like he's always telling Vox about those humans and stuff, to stay away and all that even though Vox feels such a pull.

He goes anyway. "It'll just be for a moment... No one will even notice!" And then he goes out there, builds this thing where watching Alastor go on about his day to day is a lot more interesting then the ocean all of the sudden.

Bro would literally freak out when it comes down to Alastor actually catching him in the act. Like imagine them freezing for a moment and just looking at each other before Vox seems to realize he's been caught and immediately ducks back down into the ocean just so he can fathom it.

"H-He saw me! Holy shit he actually saw me this time!"

"The people", being Alastor. Vox finds that he desperately wants to be so much closer to Alastor and interestingly enough, the feeling is mutual.

Like come on, Alastor saw a mermaid! How could he not want to investigate further?

I'm also thinking something like imagine Alastor having internal moments of like he's feeling like something is missing and just for a splint moment, just as he lets his guard down, he lifts his head with a little smile and casts his eyes up, perking when he's met with another pair of eyes.

Radiostatic: Bottom Alastor x Top Vox

I LOVE the repunzal x Eugene idea too since I know those two better but yo immediately thinking of this scene.

Alastor would be so spooked to find Vox there that this is TOO him 😭😭😭😂 he definitely wasn't playing with Vox at first and then considering Alastor's a deer it's also giving those videos of deers jumping extra hard at something when it spooks them. Immediately on guard.

Thing is, Vox is quite charming, like more so than Alastor would have ever initially thought.

Vox definitely finds himself looking at Alastor like this often after they get along a bit more. Like he's always been able to run around and be 'free', a commitment issue with saying in one place for too long surely, but Alastor's always been...locked up, hidden away and hardly ever exploring the world around them. Vox finds that while their adventures together are CRAZY he really likes that light in Alastor that Alastor has never been given the chance to show others before.

Alastor has always had to be something so much smaller than what he really is and Vox sees it when they run into each other and he doesn't necessarily mean to but he manages to be up for pulling that side out of Alastor.

Imagine Vox being so lovesick while Alastor is still understanding it, like he's patient but he's always there if Alastor actually needs him, always willing to rush to his aid and keep him safe because after everything Alastor has been through Vox is willing to be the peace he deserves. It's all for Alastor in his head though later Vox really comes to the understanding that it is in fact for himself as well because in reality...all he's ever wanted was someone to love who loved him too.

Radioapple: Bottom Lucifer x Top Alastor

Snow White and Florian! I'm telling you you are brilliant.

For one work with me here because Snow White is an older movie so I'm recounting right now and hopefully accurately but Snow White lived on her own with the animals and such before right?? If that's the cause when Lucifer went about his life he did so simply, doing what he loves. Like it's giving that he is a hopeless romantic here, like imagine when he's outside watching the animals be together and find mates he smiles because of course he wishes he could have something like that. A partner and one who adores him.

In the case from earlier where Vox is a lover boy Lucifer here is too but like I said, hopeless romantic. Where basically he continues to wait, wait, and wait even if doing so gets him down from time to time.

Maybe one day someone will come, maybe someday someone will find him and in moments like that he sings because it feels right. What else would he do anyway?

I see a scene in my head that I wanna draw and basically Lucifer is outside, probably sitting in a patch of grass, bonus points if it's flowers and he sings as the sun shines down on him. Animals would start approaching and Alastor would hear it in a distance, hunting though ..he has to know who's singing. He'll follow the singing, careful just as he would be with an animal just in case he spooks whoever it is and then he'll find him. He'll see Lucifer and just stop for a moment as he listens.

Alastor would definitely take a radio with him when he was outside every once in a while just to do so but imagine his face hearing Lucifer sing. He's starting to worry he may never be able to listen to the radio again without thinking of the mystery man who loves the animals.

It probably leaves him thinking a lot. He must leave him be.. no, no. He must talk to him! Alastor probably would be conflicted on whether he wants to get closer or pull away and act like he never heard anything to begin with.

Imagine he does decide to leave at first but he just keeps coming back later like he can't help but find this beautiful man who sings in the woods every time Alastor goes. Definitely would be a really good slow burn honestly but they definitely would find each other later and Alastor is so careful with Lucifer, easy with him and as they grow together it just feels right.

Radioapple: Bottom Alastor x Top Lucifer

I'm finna eat this up so good. Both Meg x Hercules and Tiana x Naveen are amazing ships for how I think this dynamic between them would go.

Lucifer is so witty and charming so moments like when Naveen was walking out playing his little guitar and stopped for a moment to like wink or whatever at Tiana and the moment when Hercules was at the waterhole and smitten but Meg and the two scenes that jump to mind thinking of Lucifer x Alastor here.

Like Lucifer probably shows more of his fun loving nature here, like he works for himself but he's really just chilling, not particular goal in mind though he does have dreams and ambitions. Pfft frog Lucifer x Frog Alastor needs to be drawn or something because the back and forth that Tiana and Naveen had was top tier Radioapple 😩😭

YOOO THIS IS SO YHEM IDC IDC

Like I always thought that in the movie even before they turned to frogs, that it was interesting that Naveen and Tiana had that moment. It was giving accidentally soulmates or something along those lines because in the cause of radioapple, Lucifer probably seen Alastor at that moment and thought he was cute so tipped his hat and grinned and Alastor rolls his eyes and it's just that. Lucifer doesn't push for anything more and then BAM they run into each other again later and have to deal with each other.

Lol and we saw in Princess in the frog later how when they were frogs Naveen and Tiana had their disputes and such when trying to turn back human and Alastor and Lucifer would literally be the very same way 😂

Same in the concept of them being like Hercules and Meg. With both ships Lucifer is the witty charming love interest and Alastor is the hardworking other who isn't necessarily searching for love but it finds him anyway.

Like they definitely have their moments of arguing but they work so well together when they actually choose to do so and Alastor finds himself being more and more drawn in by Lucifer's presence as they spend time together.

Really it's Alastor having to trust Lucifer and Lucifer having to prove that he's trustworthy but once Alastor lets him in everything else seems to be history.

THE WIND WAKER AHHHHHHHH I love this game SO much, ranked right below OOT and MM for my all time favorites.

One of my biggest critiques of the game is that I wish Aonuma was given the proper time to develop the game since you can tell that there should be more but a lot was cut out for time constraints. Still an incredible game but what I would give to have a full scale sequel or the full scope of the original game T^T!!!

I love this game so much holy shit. What a perfect sequel to the Hero of Time story, what a great continuation of Ganondorf's motive. I definitely wish there was more, esp dungeons and zora and towns, but this game was made pretty quick after MM and on the GC so I know there are limitations. Everything from Link, Tetra, the sound effects, the stylization, the Rito, the Koroks, Ganondorf, oh my god I absolutely adore it. Everything about it is so unique yet having the core Zelda elements within it. I also noticed how many future games took a lot of inspiration from this game, esp TP and TOTK. I also love how involved Tetra/Zelda is to the plot, Link could not have succeeded without her help, esp in the final battle and when saving Aryll. This game gives so much personality and background to Link and Tetra, every single cutscene is such a delight. This would be a super replayable game if my GC wasn't so wonky. Hopefully it'll come back to the switch. I love this game :')
