It's the 50th anniversary this year of John Carpenter's cult classic, Dark Star.

Made as a film student at USC for approximately zero dollars, it is definitely full of cheesy B movie fun, but somehow also actually interesting and showing the early signs of Carpenter's directing talent. A must watch for bad Sci Fi enthusiasts and old movie fans.
