Hello Rem, do you have any tips for drawing a rabbit's head and ears? I've been using Judy as reference and the head part usually works, but I can never get the ears! It's so frustrating! Just for clarification, I'm talking about Zootopia style buns

Remember that when you draw is very important create a simple base but precise and proportionate.

1. design guidelines: Judy’s head has an oval shape, so you can draw a circle flattened top and bottom and the famous cross lines to center the eyes, nose and mouth. At the cross intersection's point  I draw another little circle that will serve as a guide in the design of the nose.

for the hears: I advise you to establish their height by drawing a line on top (as a measure, they are more or less slightly longer than the head, but you can choose by your taste). I personally like them rounded at the tips (they give her a cute appearance) so I draw two little circles under the line and then  two lines at the sides of each circle up to join them to the head.

2: draw the character:

-I start with the nose,

-the eyes (I draw them without guide lines but you can draw two circles above the horizontal line of the cross and work on them), and the eyebrows.

-the face

- the ears.

remember well: first the simple forms, then the details.

3.: Details: I draw the irises and pupils, the inside of the ear, the nostrils.

Final sketch:

as a guide, I studied a lot of the Cory Loftis’s designs and other original concept arts. if you want to abide by Disney style, you should keep smooth and rounded lines.
