Team Name: Lilycove Lurkers

Backstory/Extra Info: A newer team in the Association, the Lilycove Lurkers was formed by the trainer Shingo in order to bring a new, less “refined” type of excitement to the city. Unofficially representing Mt. Pyre (as it’s not a city or town and thus can’t have its own team), the Lurkers’ strategy tends to involve misdirecting and confusing the opposing team while steadily making progress toward a win.

Team colors are gray and the standard Ghost-type purple, with yellow accents.

Exciting News!

Currently, we have 8 teams including the 4 teams on stand-by! We plan to continue to leave applications open, but 8 teams was the minimum requirement we had for our first tournament bracket! Thank you to our current participants! We hope to add more to the bracket in the new future.

Our next goal is to begin introducing the stand-by teams as well as formally introducing us commentators!

Clarifying statements in light of recent team submissions! While teams are encouraged to be an evolutionary line, in the past we have made exceptions to this rule as long as the Pokemon meet other requirements. Our goal with this is less to restrict creativity, but to promote teams to compete on a level playing field. If folks would prefer, we can make this clearer or remove the evolutionary line suggestion entirely.

An alternative we have discussed is with clearer roles and positions within the team, given the format of a small but agile runner (typically fulfilled by first stage Pokemon) , a larger heavy hitter (typically fulfilled by third stage Pokemon), and then a versatile position that can function as a goalie (typically fulfilled by second stage Pokemon). Teams would also be required to maintain a theme, i.e. [Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear] and [Meowth, Galarian Meowth, Alolan Meowth] were two suggested teams that we would allow.

We want to try and avoid balancing issues, as we had in years previous with including the Nimbasa Legends. With this clarification in mind, we would like to extend the opportunity for teams to swap duplicate Pokemon on their bench with new ones if they choose to do so. Apologies again for the confusion!

Backstory/Extra Info: Former Gym Trainer who turned to Baccer after semi-retiring. Team colors are #e1f1ff, accents in #e5e5e5. Insists that the name, in the abbreviated form SSSS, is pronounced [eerily accurate sound of a blizzard passing through a pine forest].

OOC: While there are guidelines in place specify what types of Pokemon are to be included in a team, there is nothing specifying the trainer coaching the team must be a human. If sentient Pokemon blogs wish to use this loophole to enter, they are welcome to ask and we can work something out. We are even willing to relax some of the team requirements potentially, tho that would need to be discussed individually.

All teams must still consist of three Pokemon, and the trainer in charge of them cannot be one of these three members. The trainer must be able to communicate with WBA staff through some means (human speech, telepathy, technology). Keep in mind, if you do this it will be acknowledged as a novelty by commentators, unless there is a case of a zoroark or ditto disguised as a trainer.

Team colors are #c93e53, with #7eb95b as a minor secondary accent color. The jersey is a modified Grass Gym Uniform top from the Galar region, changed to be most the main team color instead of white, the little details on it in the secondary color of the team. The Turrfield Orchards logo is still visible on it as well.

A big fan of the strategy of setting up grassy terrain, and then having the team go fast with the use of grassy glide.
