Thank you for the Opportunities
It’s been a while with hectic work, before I can finally sit down, gather my thoughts about Wildstar, about the people there, and the first time in ages I felt invested in trying to do something different. Those times have come to an end, and while I was not active at the end of it all, it still remains the game that made enormous amount of impact on me. Some for the better, some for the worse.
Wildstar was a game of opportunities, of something fresh, with a completely mindboggling and intelligent housing design system, and funny gameplay mechanics. It had every right to be a good game, and I thank those people I spent hours with in game to make it a delightful experience. Life goes on, and nothing lasts forever, but Wildstar budded creativity. Some of which I have had the pleasure to actually witness firsthand. Be it really cool homes, hangar bays, bar and discos I have always marvelled at the creativity put on display by players. The roleplay was unforgettable.
Carbine took and gave us something that was player driven in many aspects, where nothing really seemed the same from one player to the next, it gave us freedom to build, to prosper as we saw fit. The RP community was built on the shoulders of those that wanted to take a step in, and make something happen, I would like to thank those people too. It can’t have been easy.
It would be wrong of me to not thank Carbine as well, not only for a unique experience I won’t be able to replicate anywhere else, but also for the opportunity to get to know what truely competent housing and creative freedom feels like, and to know that it can be done, if one is willing to work their bollocks off. And you did.
Lastly I want to thank the people who I met, befriended and got to know in this game. It resparked an old dream of writing again, even if my small writings never made it far, you gave me the inspiration (Que “You’re the inspiration” - Chicago), thank you for that.
When we go our seperate ways, I hope and trust you will be well. Thank you for the time you spent with me in Wildstar and with Nexus Weekly.

The Old, The New, The Adventurous (OOC Catchup Time)
The Gauntlet:
The Gauntlet was one project in which I invite more adventurous players to have a go on a gauntlet for a testrun with some roll-tables to see how people were doing and if there was a general interest in it. The short answer to that question is ‘Mweh’.
The idea afterall was to make some easily accessible gameplay with a few easily digestible challenges that could give some story and boost to why a character can be great. But these challenges and the setup was not as digestable because majority of players thought it was rubbish, on what I consider fairly strange criteria.
What happened to the Gauntlet?:
The Gauntlet is still alive and has a bit of rework going on at the moment, before I decide to either move to to EntityNA and testrun it there or testrun it on JabbitEU again. Mostly this rework has been in the instances with ‘damage’ and ‘flair for camera’ which was apparently an issue for some players that they would appear ‘negatively’, get ‘hurt’ or otherwise rather than show that their character was a complete badass. Which in fairness was also the original idea of the concept.
What to do with the Gauntlet?:
Once it is decided where I go with the Gauntlet I’ll invite some playtester to the actual thing. With two new challenges and another on the way, I have to be sure it does better than last time.
The Adventure Roleplay:
Has been turned strictly to player-to-player based interaction? What does that mean? Well that means in all fairness that I as the DM/GM/whichever abreviation you prefer can pick my own cast to my own events without having to cater needlessly to players who won’t show up, or appear statuelike in the RP itself.
Bar Rotation:
I am still in two minds about this because it really comes down to where the Gauntlet coin lands. I have previously preached heavily for a JabbitEU for EU players, but it is hard for me to do at this point in time with a retrospective look on Jabbit’s closed off mindset and clique ideals. So either I swallow my JabbitEU pride or I make events that cater to EU players on an NA base. Both seem rather silly choices and that is why this has taken even longer to put forward.
Nexus Weekly:
Will remain the same - Posts whenever I feel like them with no particular connection to the ingame happenings.
What is next?
I really don’t know what is next on the agenda for myself and my RP, I miss my characters on Wildstar and perhaps I’ll find a way to make all this actually work. If people have ideas to what should happen next with an open mind they can contact me as usual either through here, or through Discord. I should be easy to find on the Wildstar RP discord (NA).

PIRATES IN SPAAAACE!
First Issue: Tonsilatus ‘Thornsplitter’ Diaton - Lowborn Cassian
Our newest segment, Pirates in Space will introduce some of the fiercest and most famous pirates in the galaxy. Today’s issue is about Tonsilatus ‘Thornspitter’ Diaton.
Who is Thornspitter?:
Famous almost in his pedigree Thornspitter was a lowborn Dominion Privateer in the Dominion Navy, excercising almost historically wild and uncontrolled raids onto Exile or Subjugated Worlds to allow Dominion to instigate Martial law on said planets until the raiding stopped (Which they mostly did when political enemies and general opposition had be quietly ‘shipped offworld’.)
DNN in these phases of ‘outsourcing’ managed to paint Thornspitter as a villain inventing stories to make him sound more morbid, corrupt and evil. Until eventually he became just that. Not satisfied by merely mimicking what the DNN accused him off. Thornspitter and his then First Mate, Necksnapper Brutallus, set out to give them something to talk about.
In this period Thornspitter hires a rather large amount of Draken Crew, knowing they are more likely to follow his orders as long as he provide them targets to fire at. It is also in this period he earns the name Thornspitter, through the Draken game of Thornspit*.
First Raid against the Dominion Overlords:
It is a quiet day on Cassus Spaceport 71, when a heavily armed frigate hailing with Military Boarding Code docks on Platform 5 and 6. The Dominion Lowborn Navigator has some trouble clearing out some merchant shipment, which apparently caused a commotion in the docking back. The frigate suddenly begins to turn around, in a movement that nearly scrapes paint off the side, the leviathan of a beast almost creak. That is about the time when the groundforces know something is wrong and try to enable shields, but too late the heated plasma cannons blow the entire platform into a molten mess with one barrage through the lowered shields and disappear without much of a radar chase.
At first the DNN calls this a Seperatist attack, caused by exile slaves or off-world merchants and keep the truth hidden. Their own Privateer has begun to like being the most feared man in the Dominion Space. And was not about to let that opportunity slip away.
In the first immitate hours after most Dominion ships were recalled to Cassus fearing for another attack on spacestations or the planet itself. However it would be some time before Thornspitter would show his face again.
Raids against the Dominion:
Off-world raids and attacks on settlements began to escalate around the time of the first release of DNN’s assumption that Thornspitter’s attacks had been a seperatist action, hoping to spike his own ‘popularity’ he made sure there was no doubt who he was in his entire slaughter. Attacking DNN’s stations and making his own broadcasts was the first time people actually saw Thornspitter.
A scarred, but strangely aristocratic ‘villain’ with a flair for dramatics, Thornspitter wanted to spread fear, and held his own public executions on the network whenever he could get away with it, within the time it took Dominion Fleet showing up.
His invention for cruelty showed in the way the Draken revered and respected him. Collecting skulls of those that wronged him and their subjects was a habit of his. One particular skull of fellow newsreader Amias the Agile was found in the aftermath of Thornspitters regime of Terror as a flush-o-matic ‘accessory’.
Thornspitters own regime lasted for nearly a decade before he was caught, by his own Vanity the Captain had left his ship giving a broadcast on how invincible his ship was, to fight off the invading Dominion Fleet. The Ravager was shot out of the sky, falling like burning debris on the already destroyed city. Thornspitter and his last men was finally rounded up, and even then in his own megalomania Thornspitter claimed himself Emperor of the Dominion. He was executed the following day on Cassus.
Accomplishments?:
Thornsplitter most famous achievement is the fact he has the longest running score against Dominion Ships, and has on his record at least 76 Dragoons, 31 Frigates, 1 Flagship and 2 Spacestations. All within Dominion space. While his achievements doesn’t aspire to anything like other well-known pirates who are opposed to the Dominion out of their controlling sphere, Thornspitter was merely about creating a sphere of fear that could dominate far better than any Emperor could have done. Similary he is the Pirate with apparently the lowest rate of looting, and seem to have been more focused on razing dominion infrastructure and housing to the ground. What little looting there was has been against army deposits for power sources, food and ammunition. His crew at the time of his death was nearly only Draken, with two Chua engineers and one Mechari operative. He is the only pirate to ever have been publicly executed on the DNN network, to calm the masses, and to quell his legendary status.
*Thornspitting requires two sets of Cactus Fruit with any type of thorns. Where most Draken prefer the thorns to be actual useful for spitting. Two opponents sits faced with eachother and has to eat the fruit while spitting thorns or spikes at the opponent. The winner is often declared early, but some games can take hours before a playersubmits. Thornspitter in this regard is supposedly famous for having won this game against actual living cacti.

Glistening Granite blocked out Prophet of the Scions
Tumblr media
Earlier today the Prophet of the Scions found herself shocked to discover that the broadcast of her speech had been interrupted by the Cassian News Networks (CNN) broadcasting Fifty Shades of Granite. The Prophet had only just begun her speech when the screens flickered black for a second and turned back on (Literally), with intense Granok action, ironically just seconds after the Prophet had dedicated this afternoon to Evindra the Righteous. The film ran for almost five minutes, which would be what most people would have needed, before the Cassian News Network (CNN) managed to kill the broadcast, resulting in a shutdown of most common communication along with it.
Fifty Shades of Granite, is a classic film loved by many Exiles, however this classic is banned on most of Cassian controlled spaces, although from what we know, certain officials on Belzegor are allowed to hold personal copies.
In response to the Fifty Shades of Granite broadcast Vigilant Church have initiated an inquisition hearing of all responsible members of CNN later today; though one Highborn have already been acquitted for the offense to the Scion.
We’ll be following the events as they unfold

The Old, the Wild, the Adventurous - Summer Events Announcement
News have spread about the newest Protostar funded events happening around Nexus, and for the summer we broadcast a few dates that might be worthwhile to look into.
Tumblr media
Wilderrun Conclussion - June the 25th, conclusion of the Wilderrun Event that has been postponed ridiculously long returns the 25th for a finale. The event is still open for everyone that wants to tag along into the jungle. We set off at 12 PM BST from Marshal’s Haven.
Abandon Ware - July the 9th, What happen when you put a group of people on a breaking and entering mission into an old abandoned lab with ‘shit will go down’ written all over it? Heck if Protostar know, but we’ll follow the development as the old Freebot Facility is scoured for loot, prizes and deadly machinery. (Note that this event has a limited Guest List.)
Dalladon’s Birthday - July the 24th, Journalist Dalladon’s Birthday. Not a particular action oriented event, but with a few surprises and happenings during the evening (More on that later). The event will be guest list based, so please do give me a nudge ingame or offgame if you plan to show up.
 Events still to be announced:
Dominion Settler Event – Expected in August, planned along with Eugene Pickman, but with a few more details to be settled yet.
Sabotage at Cassian News Network event – Expected in August, apparently someone got tired of competition and decided to send a message.
 ---
OOC News - the Nexus Weekly will from today and to an unspecific future, only be announcing events (Using the Old, The Wild and the Adventurous tagline), there will be no more blog/news about the RP community. This is largely due to the fact that I am sick of certain players thinking that this is somehow my job to write these things, and that they are entitled to nag about whether ‘their article’ is gonna be released soon. Yes it started out as an amusing thing to do, but it quickly turned into demanding consumerism, which was never the intention.
I’ll continue making my small random quiffs that are unrelated to RP communities such as the Fire in Celestion and the upcoming Scandal at the Cassian News Network. And if a single RP related news sneaks in it will be on my own leisure, and my own time.

The Old, The Wild, The Adventuruos - Wilderrun Expedition, before take-off
With the event coming up at Sunday. Protostar Publisher’s have now closed any additional request to join the expedition. With two new additions to the Expedition.
Tumblr media
Ivan Lazvic - Mordesh Male, Mercenary/Medic. - The only Mordesh coming along for the Expedition, Ivan Lazvic is not a certified doctor, but an excelent field operative able to patch up and stop bleeding in harshest of conditions. In a jungle his expertise will be invaluable.
Anlini Starshard - Aurin Female, Scientist - While the name might be unknown to some, Miss Starshard is one of the more Adventurous Scientist to ever have travelled Nexus, infamous perhaps to some, for the more malign rumour regarding her connection to the Royal Collegium, Miss Starshard should be granted great respect for the progressed understanding and cooperation between XAS and the Royal Collegium.

The Old, The Wild, The Adventurous - Wilderrun Expedition.
Protostar Publishers is happy to announce it’s first funded expedition into Wilderrun, here among the ruins of the old Eldan civilization we should hope to uncover some of the mysteries that lie behind this highly fertile and mysterious place.
Lead into the wilderness by an ancient Eldan artifact we hope to bring some light to what the Eldan might have left behind. The Expedition at this current stage consists of 9 members.
Tumblr media
Tarek Youkai - Expedition Guide, Aurin Male, and also the owner of the mysterious artifact. When first approaching Protostar his desire was merely to find a team and finance the trip himself. However Protostar acknowledged his travel as a important  and decided to back him in his expedition into Wilderrun proper.
Dalladon Helstrum - Protostar Journalist, Aurin Male, sent along to the Wilderness to document and broadcast the heroics and bravery of the expeditions members as they go along.
Nayas Treefoot - Designer and Construction Expert, Aurin Male, joining in the expedition at the behest of Dalladon Helstrum. Nayas Treefoot was chosen mainly as the only civilian along with himself to come along.
Keeran Ruinfog - FCON specialist Commander, Aurin Female, having her own unit - The Blue Phoenix, within FCON it might seem curious for the Commander to join a small expedition, however Commander Keeran Ruinfog is by far a force to be reckoned with on her own.
Nord Whitefield - Corporal, FCON Scout, Aurin Male. As a Scout in FCON, Nord Whitefield was chosen for the initial security and scouting - but also for his high marksmanship in the wilds.
Tadeas Curse - Mercenary, Aurin Male, brought along as an independent contract before FCON additions to the expedition for protective measures. Tadeas Curse is by Protostar Standards a reliable choice.
Feru Needlewind - Mercenary, Female Aurin, joining alongside Tadeas Curse on an independent contract. Considered wild yet cold, Feedlewind has shown time and time again that she’s an excellent combatant.
Varain Shyfell - Treasure Hunter, Aurin Male, chosen by Protostar mainly because of his own investigation in Wilderrun. Alongside Tarek Youkai, both males have similar interest in the Eldan Artifact.
Lopp Sinba - Treasure Hunter, Lopp Male, having an uncanny affinity for ‘Shinies’, Sinba was selected not individually, but rather as a team with his partner Varain, both form an excellent double act within the Expedition.
Tumblr media
- OOC ANNOUNCEMENT -
Expedition will be done the 8th of May. 12PM - 16PM. Interested in joining for the expedition need to contact me urgently so I can readjust the rooster. Current members should receive a letter from Dalladon Helstrum in their ingame mailbox during the 1st of May, but in the meantime should please check out the rules setup and post any questions or comments to me.
The Expedition will be held as an Adventure RP test run for future Protostar Adventure Events. For people interested in doing Adventure RP keep an eye out for The Old, The Wild, The Adventurous which is the ‘magazine’ tagline we use for publishing these events. Events will primarily use the system on the Tumblr Page. Feel free to contact Dalladon Helstrum or Ask this tumblr for more information.

Celestion Wildfire turned out to be Smoke and Mirrors
A rumour that a Dominion attack was mounting on Celestion turned out to be nothing more than a fluke. The smoke rising from the northwest of the forest turned out to be an aftermath ignition of the recent Dominion occupation in the forest. The disposal units from FCON were transporting heavy amounts of flammable liquids that were left in the wake of Chua and Draken invaders who, intending on torching the Aurin communities there, had brought what is estimated to little above thousand gallons worth of flammable canisters to Celestion.
Tumblr media
One of the lifters caught fire one early morning and crashed out into a tree, blazing it alight and bringing two of its brothers aflame as well. Aurin Warders present managed to contain the fire to just the three of them, but by then the damage was already done and several Aurin had felt the torment in the woods, and had raised alarm that a second Dominion invasion might be underway.
FCON units were fast to respond, though it unnerved residents of Celestion at the time. A spokesman from FCON could this morning confirm that there were no casualties, though a Granok got injured severely when one a tree shot splinters and hot sap through the air.
Tumblr media
Some still do recall the damage done on Celestion by Draken and Chua dominion forces, and some feared a similar scenario like the hunting of Aurin in the southern vales and the torching of the western woods. However FCON confirms there are no signs of Hostile Dominion troops in Celestion, yet still advice people to follow the careful guidelines of travelling in Celestions, such as avoiding certain types of wildlife (Girrok, Larger Arachnids, Yetis, and more.) and staying clear of Eldan Constructs where they might appear.

Sky Diamonds - Blackthorne Lounge
”Once upon a time” - like a fairytale. Or that's how it almost sounded like when I went to meet Manager Kosei Blackthorne and DJ Wysper Soulbark, on the Blackthorne Lounge grounds, there was a dream, or a vision, of one lady Dizcordia Blackthorne. Today stands the testimony of that Vision in form of the Blackthorne Lounge and the Conclavers Taven.
Tumblr media
And quite apropos the place is like stepping into a fairytale, the weather is mild for the season, trees rise high and lights flicker in and out creating an atmosphere of true dreamworld. Between the trees you can get a glimpse of the Nightclub, towering up three stories up calling to you like a beacon. The place is huge, and most would be forgiven for thinking that the nightclub entirely lives on the outside of the massive building, snaking itself upwards in outdoor terraces filled with comfortable furniture and dancefloors where DJ's practice their arts of getting people dancing crazy all night long.  It is here we find DJ Dizcordia Blackthorne, the owner of the establishment, and quite the master with her mixer, she keeps the groove on every monday evening, She was regrettably unable to comment.
Tumblr media
The more adventurous of guests might easily find themselves inside the rustic and warm Conclavers Tavern, and this is where DJ Wysper Soulbark rules as queen of the dancefloor, giving it her all for as she says “Happy people dance more, keep ‘em happy”.
Some might even dare the heights in the trees with the concealed Treetop Lounge, each place has it's own atmosphere and offers even the most picky to find place to have a grand time. Especially with the coming of the Reawakening. Celebrating the turn to Spring like the Aurin Cloverwood Tribe, The Blackthorne Lounge is throwing a grand celebration tonight, at 19:30 standard Protostar Time, with huge prizes. DJ Wysper Soulbark was very excited when we asked her about tonight as she had been appointed judge of the ‘The Best Green Dressed Individual’ competition. We asked her to give a little reveal into what she will judge the best tonight, “Well it will be Green” was the sly DJ’s comment.
The DJ even managed to take Mr. Blackthorne by surprise when revealing her special secret weapon for tonight. ‘Cloverglow’, a mysterious green drink with a enchanting scent.
Tumblr media
Co-manager Kosei Blackthorne could also tell us that any profit made, goes to straight to a private contractor, specializing procuring the needed materials from Protostar to manifacture weapons for the Exile Wareffort. When asked how many Bingberry Juice it would take to get a new Granok Artillery Gun, Mr. Blackthorne commented: “Of that particular drink it would take rather alot, but every little bit helps.” Which I can only recommend you do.
Nothin will ever be as fun as aiding the war-effort while spending a night amongst the trees, with great music, thrilling dancing and flowing drinks. Blackthorne Lounge is definitely worth a visit.
