Our present generation describes as the emergence  of technology  and others such as social media platforms. Social media defined as Interent and computer-based technology that allows and facilitates easy sharing of every aspect of a person's  life particularly their ideas, photographs, thoughts, opinions and other  information discussing among human beings through virtual networks and communities.

  

  Social media takes a huge part not only in our society but also in every individuals life. It serves as necessary  tool in order for us to be aware and knowledgeable  about the things and happenings  surrounding us.  It gives as an opportunity  to express our thoughts that might contribute in order for us to have improvements. Social media is versatile  due to its effectiveness, usefulness  and convenience, it can even give people an opportunity to have source of income through advertisements and online selling. It is legitimised  that social media is powerful and has the ability to influence the way we act and decide. However, due to its  power to influence, sometimes  people became either powerless and lack of self-control, because  they become dependent on it that may result  adverse effect like technology addiction, triggers  mental health problems and social media conflicts. Social media serves an information platform but because of its  relevance  it allows other people to dissiminate disinformation  and misinformation. Additionally, social media serves as a platform for cyber bullying, hacking, pharming, hacking and scamming.

     In conclusion, social media gives us advantage and disadvantages  that affects our life. It is necessary  to manage ourself in order for us to maintain healthy living and have a productive  life.  People should control social media and not social media controls people because we are the one who has the ability to choose what we are going to do. Always remember that the outcome is the reflection of our actions and decisions we make and choose.

1. What advantage does the creation of social media offers citizens to developing countries?

The social media has a lot of advantages in different aspects including in the citizens of developing countries. The fostering connection with people and getting a latest updates on what's going on in their country or in the world will surely help them to become more better in their way of living. Through social media we can voice out our concerns and opinions. and also through social media the developing countries are able to gain access on how are they going to understand and interacts with the modern economy.

2. Should International policy makers and organization concerned with economic development and human rights enhance social media as tools for achieving those ends? How should social media fit into the broader text of ICT?

Yes. Based on my understanding, social media can fit into a broader text of ICT in the way that the information we can gather through social media platforms serves as a reliable resource. But in contrary, social media is also a complex information resource that can also give us negatives or cons. Like what I've said media is complex, that means it is wide that can allow people to get some inaccurate or fake infomations as well as prevalence of misinformation and disinformation.

STEM: My Branch of Knowledge

SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING and MATHEMATICS (STEM) is one of the academic strand in senior high school. It is an educational program in which it develops and guides the primary and secondary students to be prepare in college. It will integrates us into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real world application. In addition it aims to foster inquiring minds, logical reasoning and collaborating skills of a students.

I only chose STEM academic strand because it sounds so cool. Peer pressure is one of the reason why I chose stem because most of my friends take this strand. Tripping is one of the reason too why I chose this strand, because of the specific subject that I want to study(General Physics 1&2, General mathematics, Statistics, Pre-calculus and Basic-Calculus). A lot of people says that they find STEM as difficult strand to take so I came up with a conclusion and make my curiousity kills me, then after that, a lot of questions pop up into my mind “does taking STEM strand really that hard?”, “how hard it is?”, “Can I survive if I try it?” This types of questions really gives me goosebumps because I always want a struggles, problems, challenges and thrills when it comes in life. On the other hand the reason why I choose this strand was it is aligned with my course that I will be going to take in college which is the Engineering courses. There’s a lot of oppurtunities that encompasses in this strand and it is flexible in multiple career paths.

In conclusion, it will help me to develop my critical and logical skills and also it will enhance my creativity, my initiative, on how to socialize, on how communicate, and to become independent. By taking STEM strand I gain a lot of knowledge about the world and it help me to understand everything way better. Why I chose STEM is because most of in-demand jobs and high paying jobs are here. And as far as I know, this strand will enhance the student or someone to make them more employable and ready to meet the current labor demand.
