You were always the odd bird in the group you always seemed upset but no one could understand why until an accident happened everyone was getting dressed from a dip in the river but your clothes and richies got mixed up and you accidentally got in his clothes everyone laughed but richie saw those eyes. They were tears like something clicked in your head

Something about his clothes made you emotional but he didn’t want to speak up so he made a joke about himself jokingly putting on your dress to get the attention off you everyone cracked up eventually everyone had to go so the clothes got sorted out as he finished getting his clothes back

“ Y/n did.. you finally feel happy wearing my clothes..? Are boy clothes.. your happy place? I never seen you so moved before “ he said quietly silently looking over at you abit worried about talking about it as you choked back a sob then silently nodded hugging him tightly he found himself tearing up himself slowly taking off his glasses wiping his eyes

“ how about I use my allowance and sneak them over for you and some of mine i need new ones anyways… “ he smiled softly you never felt so loved that someone understood with no judgment

You eventually got the clothes and he helped cut your hair abit shorter to be more boyish and showed up to the gang as everyone stares shocked at first but they never seen you smile like that. You actually seemed at peace Eddie was the first to hug you tightly becoming emotional sobbing out a “ shut the fuck up trash mouth “ but it was barely English with the sobs and gasps for air they were truly your family now
