Canon R5 and R6 for Wedding Films- My first impressions

The Canon R5 and R6 are going to be AMAZING cameras for WEDDING FILMMAKERS!  If you're just getting started with wedding filmmaking, check out my course here: https://weddingfilmcoach.teachable.com/p/get-started-with-wedding-filmmaking-coaching-program   It's the best, easiest, and fastest way to start making money with video and skip 5 years of trial and error. If you film weddings, it's been a sad few years for us.  No real huge upgrade in camera bodies for a while.  Now, Canon has officially announced the R5 and R6 mirrorless cameras.  Both of these cameras are incredible leaps forward in technology and engineering.  As a wedding filmmaker they both bring a lot of features and specs to the table that will have most videographers feeling satisfied and emptying their wallets.   This video covers my first impressions of the Canon R5 and Canon R6, where I go through the released info and cover the specs and give you my thoughts on these new cameras as a wedding filmmaker.  The Canon R5 8K Raw Video offers a huge perk with the best quality video we've ever seen in a non-cinema camera.  However, the Canon R5 Overheating issues could be a deal breaker if you'll need more consistent use at such high quality.  The Canon R6 overheating should be non-existent, but we'll have to wait and see.  The Canon R5 IBIS and Canon R6 IBIS bring a lot to the table with 8-stops of image stabilization.  This will be a game changer for many who will be able to leave their gimbals at home now.  The Canon R6 Low Light specs with ISO seem to indicate superior quality.  This will be another thing we'll have to wait for tests to confirm.  The Canon R6 Price makes it an incredible option for wedding filmmakers.  The Canon R6 for wedding filmmakers will be the new king, until hopefully the Sony a7s iii dethrones it in a few weeks.   I hope you enjoy the video. ��Check out my new course "The Beginner Wedding Filmmaker Coaching Program."  https://weddingfilmcoach.teachable.com/p/get-started-with-wedding-filmmaking-coaching-program I'm also giving away a free e-book on how to get started with weddings, access that here: https://www.weddingfilmcoach.com/getting-started-with-wedding-filmmaking I am a part of the Amazon Affiliate Program.  If you need any video gear it would be appreciated if you clicked on my links.  This will give me a small commission, but cost you nothing.  Thanks for supporting the channel. Panasonic S1H 6K Footage: Beautiful wedding footage in V-Log and CineLik...

Panasonic S1H 6K Footage. In this video you'll see panasonic s1h 6k video.  All of the panasonic s1h test footage was shot at 6k to give you an idea of how the Panasonic S1H 6k video looks.  The footage really shows off the Panasonic S1H color.  This camera can shoot in up to 10-bit and 4:2:2.  It's a beast.  The S1H sample footage is in 24 fps.  I'm really please with how this Panasonic S1H 6K sample footage looks.  It's not to sharp but gives a really clean image.  There have been some reports of ghosting when using vLog, but I'm still testing that.

The parts of the video where I'm talking are a good indicator of the poor Panasonic S1H autofocus.  It tracks well on the LCD screen, but it fails to maintain stable focus even as I was standing still.  I'll play around with the settings and make another S1H autofocus video soon.

Wedding film coach is all about helping beginners get started with video in the wedding industry.  Right now, I still don't think I would recommend the Panasonic s1h for weddings, but if you are a pro and used to using cinema cameras, then it's possible this might be a good b- camera for you, maybe even an a- camera depending what you're coming from.

Panasonic S1H Footage: Test footage at 4k 24p and 60p

In this video you'll see some panasonic s1h video.  All of the panasonic s1h test footage was shot at 4k to give you an idea of how the Panasonic S1H 4k video looks.  The footage really shows off the Panasonic S1H color.  This camera can shoot in up to 10-bit and 4:2:2.  It's a beast.  The S1H sample footage is in 24 fps and 60fps slowed down at 40% in a 24fps timeline.  The slow motion looks nice and smooth.  I'm still disappointed in the Panasonic S1H autofocus, but I'm hoping that it works better with a native panasonic lens which I'll be able to test over the weekend.
