Flora Pop! Pretty Cure got nominated for two Fancuries (Best Ongoing and Best Transformation Item), so I decided I’d focus on my 80s kids for this year’s red carpet.

I also got nominations for Best Dollmaker Artist, and most importantly to me, Best Writer! I don’t often feel very confident in my writing, especially where I try weird things with perspective/POV with my fanseries that most don’t, so it means a lot that anyone thinks I deserve that kind of acknowledgement.

It was really fun trying the lineless look and exploring more 80s fashion.

I did an age progression with Violet / Cure Darling because she's present in pretty much every "flowerverse" fanseries.

Age 5 (1955), 10 (1960), 17 (1967), 38 (1988), 66 (2016), 96-99 (2046-2049) - from 1967/17yo onward its the age she progressively is in each fanseries.

the samaras! i plan on doing the other three families of joie de vivre too :)

my prof said to me recently that portraiture feels more grounded when based in an actual person reference so i decided to play around with that using my ocs as guinea pigs. i may continue to do more, bc this was fun.

first pic is my marya samara (cure snowy) and her older sisters ameenah (l) and nadeen ®, and the second is their parents saadia and aariz in their court robes (they’re both lawyers - and idk if lawyers can wear hijab in court but im gonna pretend to live in a world where they can (i did fruitlessly google it tho, js)). the actors i referenced (bc it felt less weird than randos) were: zaira wasim (marya), hafsia herzi (nadeen), ayesha takai (ameenah), saba qamar (saadia) and alexander siddig (aariz).
