Discover Solar System 8 Planets Names and Their Details
Types of Solar System Planets:
The term “terrestrial planets” refers to the rocky surfaces of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Pluto has never been categorized among the four terrestrial planets, despite having a hard, although frozen, surface.
Planets ranked in order of largest to smallest
If you were to order the planets by size from smallest to largest, they would be Mercury, Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter.
Uranus and Neptune, which are farther distant, are known as the ice giants, whereas Jupiter and Saturn are often referred to as the gas giants. According to the Planetary System, Uranus and Neptune have more atmospheric water and other ice-forming compounds, including methane, hydrogen sulfide, and phosphene, which solidify as clouds under the planet’s freezing temperatures. According to the National Library of Medicine in the United States, methane crystallizes at minus 296 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 183 degrees Celsius).
