Safe Groceries

Food is one of our basic needs in life. It is a way for us to survive. But how can we make sure that we are being safe when buying our food today puts us at risk? Many reports have acknowledged that people get infected of the virus through grocery shopping. Because why not? The items that are being displayed on the shelves are touched and held by so many people we don’t know who. We don’t want to think negatively but this is the truth and we don’t want to be too complacent especially at these times. So to give you a minimal way of cleaning these groceries I made a video and some of the techniques I exerted here were taught by Doctor Jeffrey Vanwingen, a family doctor from Michigan. Make Up Remover: Micellar Water or Cleansing Balm

Every generation is going to have a different make up technology for sure. When I was starting to learn putting make up in my college days because school does require it, the only make up remover I know is baby oil. That’s it. And then Koreans invaded the skin care world especially in Asia, I mean who wouldn’t roll over to get that porcelain glass skin that they have?? And then the make up world turned completely different. There was water with oil, water-based, oil-based, pure oil, pure water and now balm...

Okay, is this like the petroleum jelly that I know when I was a kid and my mom used it on my burns? Yes, you’re right. I remember my mom told me before that if I didn’t want to use a baby oil to remove my make up then I could use petroleum jelly as well. Fashion indeed is repeating itself but in a more expensive techie kind of way, right?

So for the 5th episode of my quarantine series, because I didn’t want my make up on my previous video to just go simply like that and waste my efforts of putting it (LOL) let me be a little efficient and use it for another blog post. I have been using a micellar water for quite a while now after using up my cleansing oil I got from Etude House which btw I still kind of recommend. This cleansing oil, removes my make up effortlessly but not 100% and stings when it gets in your eyes and sometimes there are still make up residues mostly the super duper waterproof makeups. Philippine Airlines Cabin Crew for a Day

Philippine Airlines has always been my dream airline from the moment I decided I wanted to become a flight attendant. From my video about My Journey of Becoming a Flight Attendant I shared how many times I tried to apply and got rejected, but these failures never stopped me from believing I can be one of them even until now considering I am an international flight attendant already. Yes I earn 2-3x their salary now, but you know when they say know where your heart is? Or sometimes home is where your heart is? This is exactly what I feel towards this prestige airline. I once worked as their ground staff for 2 months then I had to quit for my current job, but in that short time it has proved to me that the quality of their service and hospitality even towards each employees  really is like no other. I cannot compare it with any airlines. Truly it is a service with a heart. From their training and grooming to their rules and policy implementations, everything is beyond standards. 

Now that I experience working for an International Airline, every time I hear their tagline and theme song anywhere I always get a magnet feeling that touches my heart and making me feel so proud that I am a Filipino and I want to go home so bad. That is why I look up to all their employees so much. 

So as for my quarantine series, even just in my own channel for now, I chased my dream and became a PAL cabin crew. I tried to copy their makeup and grooming standards as much as I can and all I can say is that I need to learn to use a hair spray that holds the hair extremely to achieve the perfect neat hair. (LOL!) Also, hear me do the cabin announcement which is actually a part of my job and is something I really love to do. Enjoy the video!

Quarantine Series: Omelette

On my social media accounts, everyone is talking about how they miss travelling and going out, who wouldn’t? As part of my job, me surely miss travelling as well and by means of travelling we not only get to experience and explore the place but it also means trying out their local foods. 

Since travelling is still banned nowadays, the only way we can have a slight taste of a place that we miss is through our kitchen. So I decided to explore and cook 10 different kinds of food from different countries around the world using of course one of the most versatile food you can find in the comfort of your kitchen, EGGS. Why not? I mean you can always have it at anytime of the day, right? 

So again, I want to share 10 omelette recipes I learned during this pandemic season and I ranked them from least to most in favor of my i-am-not-a-picky-eater-food-is-life taste buds. I hope you try them out too and let me know which one you did and how you liked the result of your egg cooking.

Quarantine Series: Clean My Room

Cleaning our own spaces is one of the most procrastinated tasks ever. Living alone in Saudi Arabia as an overseas employee with no one to motivate you to tidy your space up is so discouraging. However, we can’t let this simple things bring us down and having a messy surrounding adds up to the depression that we feel mostly to those people who are living independently especially during these times. So come along and clean my room with me because I just simply can’t stand having dusty area nowadays. I feel like I am becoming more organize and I am also trying to become as minimalist as I can and it is not easy. Who would have thought this pandemic is bringing such change and optimism?

Quarantine Series: Toast Recipes

We are all stuck in our houses these days doing nothing but eat, sleep and repeat. Most of us may be even skipping breakfast, the most important part of every day. As an Asian, rice is always a part of our breakfast, but can be too much work for a lazybum like me. Thank goodness to whoever came up with the idea of toast, I can even have a tasty breakfast without having to defrost any goods early in the morning and everything is almost always available in the kitchen cupboard. So here I want to share 5 of my favorite toast recipes that you would want to try and enjoy with me.

Out of so much free time, and just simply creativity, my boyfriend and I wrote a poem for each other. We did not set a theme or a specific topic for this and we were both surprised when we read each other's poem.

We have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years now. Four months after we started dating, we were parted because I chased my dream job and that is being an international flight attendant. I never imagined myself being in a distant relationship like this. They say it is never gonna work. But now I have come to realize that there is not a thing that can speak on behalf of love. Relationship works because it is your choice - a choice if you want to keep it to keep going or a choice if you want to let go and be free.

A Day in a Life of a Flight Attendant During Pandemic

It has been 3 months already when everything was still normal. You know, the normal normal. It is like the world suddenly stopped. Today, I started my day with a healthy smoothie I made last night. I made myself a cup of coffee too like how I used to do on my typical days. I had a good breakfast and took a relaxing morning shower. I am preparing for work. Today feels weird as I felt an excitement doing all these things again after quite a while. Like my first time. But it feels a little different too. How is the world outside of this house doing now? How do you act normal in the now new normal? Today I am flying to Madrid, Spain. But contrary to the usual flight attendant life, we are not staying in that beautiful city.

Before, we send tourists to beautiful places for pleasure. We send businessmen to attend their meetings, events, and whatnots. Today, we still send a family member back to their families, but this family member may have suffered being locked down in a place for weeks or months already and could have been anxious, stressed or even depressed about being away from their safest place during this tough time, their family.

I have a choice. A choice not to report for my flight today. A choice to stay safe in the comfort of my room all day. But I want to see people. I want to see how people are now. Being stucked in my home for weeks gave me anxiety to the extent that even meditation wasnt helping. To be honest, I dont like this new normal, nobody does. I feel like it stops me from learning a new wisdom and having a good talk from that one stranger that could be a friend. But too cliche as it may be, LIFE MUST GO ON. I have family and friends waiting for me. They too are fighting in this sudden change. Everyone is.

I don't wish that everything will be back to normal because that normal was abusive, careless, greedy, exhausting. It wouldnt do any good to the world anymore. It never did. Tomorrow, another day, another life, will just pass by and eventually all these new normal will never be as complicated as how it all started to change the world, its people and everything thats in it.

There is nothing permanent. But there is always hope in faith. Yes it did change our lifestyle, but the word is already there, CHANGE, it is inevitable, it will not remain, all will just be history, like us.

Truth or Dare

(June 16, 2014)

So.. my story goes like this. We always play mind games to kill time for the past few days and if you lose you have a consequence. It's like truth or dare but we were forced to only choose dare eventually. We had different consequences everyday and today's dare was crazy. I was asked who among the guys i find most attractive and then i said his name.  (Though he's not really that attractive, but guys he plays piano, guitar, drums, saxophone, sings VERY well, CAN dance, and of course i can't like him if he can't drive his own car, LOL). Then I was paired with him the whole time we were playing. OH, the dare. Yes. From mild to wild. (and oh! he goes to gym)

And as I was talking to my friends on the phone earlier he got off the jeep at coastal and said "tama na yan" to me made me kilig deep inside. Haraught!
