Just a few of the stories my great aunt told me about women in the 60s:

1) A woman she worked with at the hospital who had a baby with one of the ambulance drivers. When work found out they fired her (he kept his job). She tried to self-abort with a knitting needle.

2) The sister of one of her neighbours who wasn’t able to rent a room because she was a ‘fallen woman’.

3) A girl who got sent to a convent house and scrubbed floors until the day she gave birth. Her baby was given up for adoption without her consent.

4) Girls who had babies with priests.

5) Women who were on their fifth, sixth, seventh child, who had been pregnant for the best part of a decade, begging for sterilisation because their husbands wouldn’t wear a condom.

Banning abortion has never ever stopped it from happening. It’s just meant more stigma, more prejudice, more risks and more deaths.

What if Shakespeare pulled a Gilderoy Lockhart on us and all his plays were stolen from others and their ideas but he did something to make them shut up about it like "your play is published and famous, rejoice in that even if you don’t get credit" or he threatened their families or just plain killed them but nobody ever suspected it

Lucasfilm did not fire Gina Carano from The Mandalorian for being Transphobic:

She got fired for being Anti-Semitic.

Her being Transphobic is not at all okay either but,

Anti-Semitism is not talked about enough.

She basically just compared Holocaust victims to being a Republican. Do you realize how fucked up that is?!

I’m Jewish. I really don’t like when someone compares the genocide of 6 million of my people to being a Republican. When was the last time 6 million Republicans were murdered via gas chambers?

People need to know that this was why she got fired. Don’t you dare just like this post!

So my dad is Conservative and I’m more Liberal and I know it drives him up the wall that I don’t lean more Republican. I hear him rant a lot about liberals, will just go off about how we’re ruining the country, and one thing he likes to say a lot is that Liberals are a lot more selfish than Conservatives and all I can think about when he says that is the fact that conservatives are against government run healthcare because they don’t want to have to pay the extra taxes out of their pocket but there are literally people who’s lives are destroyed because some emergency happens and they couldn't afford healthcare so now they’re being bombarded by hospital bills or they can’t get the treatment they need at all because they can’t afford it, like talk about selfish but I would have no problem paying just a little more so that people are actually taken care of and have a sense of security. Don’t call us selfish and a problem to this country when you’re not even willing to help take care of the people in the country you say you’re so loyal to.

Harry Potter Question

Yo so I’m re-reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and something just occurred to me. Why didn’t Remus see past Harry and Hermione when they we’re saving Buckbeak????? Like he had been watching the marauders map for that exact reason, wouldn’t he have seen an extra Harry and Hermione in the forest??
