What people think why i became a bookbinder: Oh she wants to explore her artistic horizon with those pretty leather bound books of hers. She even gives them out as gifts to her friends. It most likely helps her with anxiety or maybe she just wanted a more special costume made notebook.

Why I actually became a bookbinder: I just illegally downloaded and printed out several of my favourite fanfics and books and started binding them into books cuz I love reading them but looking at screens for too long gives me headaches.

Witchy Poppet Tip

Anisha here and I have a witchy tip to share with you today i am a witch who does not know how to sew to save my life. So when the day arised that i needed to make a poppet or doll babie "voodoo doll" I came up with this idea. Now in hoodoo you use what you have to make it work especially without spending alot of money and thats exactly what i did. So if you dont know how to sew a simple way to make a poppet is out of clay. Of course you can also use corn husk dolls, twigs or an already made figure candle but this is my prefer way.

Step 1: get black or red (color depends on intent) play dough from the dollar tree. If they dont have those colors buy the yellow play dough they have.

Step 2: if they didnt have the color you wanted and you bought the yellow. Go to your local grocery store and buy food coloring (in my case i bought black food coloring)

Step 3: wear gloves it gets messy when you dye your play dough and then let it dry for 5 mins. The yellow play dough is very easy to dye and it will change colors.

Step 4: once dried roll play dough into a ball and smash flat into a round flat thin cake.

Step 5: put the herbs/oils you want to use in the middle of the flat cake. Also add personal concerns or anything else you want inside your poppet.

Step 6: Now roll your play dough into a clinder shape where everything is now covered in the middle.

Step 7: shape play dough into a human figure and now you have a poppet made without sewing!!

SPELL:  Remembering & Recalling Dreams

During the Basic Spellwriting class that Salt hosted tonight on the server, the WAMILY members gathered and constructed a spell together.  This was an amazing team effort and the collaboration produced a simple, yet effective spell.  This is what they came up with!

PURPOSE OF THE SPELL:  

To dream deeply and vividly, and to recall it when you wake.

SPECIAL TIMING:  

During the New Moon; and/or on a Saturday (a day of relaxation.)  Bonus points if you can score a New Moon on a Saturday!  

Each New Moon is a brand new beginning.  It offers the opportunity to make a change, to re-orient yourself, or to conjure a new aspect of yourself and your life into being.  The energy of the new moon is great for initiating a new project or the start of an adventure.  And with it being hidden in darkness, there are parallels drawn between the darker sides of the moon as well as our minds.

ITEMS NEEDED:

Soft Pajamas: for comfort.

Fluffy Pillow: to rest our head, where dreams happen.

Cup of tea: to warm and relax our bodies.

Amethyst: to remove stress, to boost intelligence and promote personality growth, to protect from harmful outside influences, to strengthen memory.

SPELLWORK:

1.  On the night of a New Moon (or a Saturday, or both), climb into bed wearing soft pajamas and tea in hand.  Sip your tea and focus your energy on a night of restful sleep.  Think back on the past vivid dreams you have had and the details of them.  You can also set an amethyst by your bedside, under a pillow, or near a window.

2.  When your tea is finished and you are sleepy, read the following incantation, focusing on the mysterious, majestic power of the New Moon.  Visualize its shadows as a cloak that will conceal you.  The New Moon will inspire the start of your adventure in the dreamscape.

3.  Recite the following spell:

I ask the New Moon to allow peaceful and calm rest.  To the depths of my subconscious, give me access.  Let the absence of the Moon be my shield and guide,  and when I wake, let the dreams ever-flow to my mind.

4.  Turn off the lights, rest your head on your pillow, and allow for your dreams to blossom!  In the morning, you should wake and be able to recall the details of the dream.  (We suggest writing them down!)

On A Sunbeam by Tillie Walden: Sci-fi; main character (MC) is wlw. Everything by Tillie Walden is great, but especially this story!

Motor Crush by Babs Tarr, Brenden Fletcher, and Cameron Stewart: Sci-fi; MC is wlw.

Low by Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini: Sci-fi; one of the MCs in the second volume is WLW; warning for gore, and the love interest dies. The rep isn’t ideal, but I think the series is worth checking out for the interesting worldbuilding.
