How Does MIG Welding Work?
Mig welding means Metal-Inert-Gas welding. It is a semi-automated process discovered and developed in the 1940s.  It is one of the easiest and flexible welding processes. Any beginner with seven days of training could learn this process and weld perfectly. It has 4 main parts to get welded. The first part is the welding power supply that flows the electricity to create heat and the second one is its wire feed system that feeds the wire to help weld joints. The third one is the handle and the trigger that controls the wire feeder and the final one is the shielding gas that helps to protect the weld from the air. To Get more info on how does Mig welding works follow the below article.

The process of Mig welding.
In simple terms, you need to understand three things to know how it works, the first thing it needs is electricity to produce heat and the second thing it needs is an electrode to fill the weld joint. Finally, you will need a shielding gas, to protect your weld from the direct air. During welding, Mig uses a small electrode to feed continuously and the welder controls the amount of weld that needs to be done. But sometimes when a robot takes the control then it becomes automatic welding. The way Mig welding is done, an operator or welder presses the trigger of the mig gun and then electricity starts to flow and charge the electrode to start feeding the wire and then mig gun feed through by using shield gas. Then the arc of the electrode contacts with metal and starts melting to get weld. It is very clean and produces very little smoke. The greatest part of mig welding is it is cheap and as well as fast.

What metals can be weld through Mig?
It is a kind of process through which you can weld almost every metal. In some cases, it may not be the best option but it is super fast, efficient and effective for high production. The most common metal that is mostly welded by mig welding is stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum. Mig welding is most effective for carbon steel because mig has a powerful ability to weld thicker metal.
