Could you write a short fic for Zoros reaction to his s/o falling down some stairs (but she is ok just bruised) please. BTW love your writing
Characters: Zoro x female reader CW: none :) Total word count: 1k
Slip and Fall
One second you were upright, walking down the stairs. The next moment, you were staring up at the ceiling.
The pain caught up with you quickly, and you groaned from the aches that riddled your body. Judging by the pain in your back, you must’ve slid down the stairs. Nothing seemed to be broken, but you were certain you’d have a few bruises to show for your misstep.
You closed your eyes and focused on your breathing, trying to recenter yourself and minimize the pain.
“What the hell was-” Zoro’s irritated voice cut off abruptly, and you braced yourself for some kind of cheap joke at your expense.
But nothing came. You were certain he hadn’t left, but he also made no move to get closer to you. Or do anything.
“Y/N?” Zoro’s voice came out as a harsh whisper.
“I’m fine, thanks for asking.” You breathed out a laugh. The pain seemed to be getting worse the more you lay there. “Help me up, will you?”
“No!” Zoro finally moved, rushing over to you to keep you still. “You shouldn’t move. It could-you could-I don’t want you to-”
“Zoro,” you groaned, finally opening your eyes and instantly meeting his.
His eyes were so full of worry. They raked over your body, searching for any sign of injury. And you realized that Zoro was truly scared.
Naturally, his fear made you panic.
“What?” you tried to lift your head, but Zoro refused to let you move.
“Chopper needs to check for a spinal injury. If you landed wrong…” He shook his head, as if he were shaking a thought from his head.
“Zoro, I’m fine.” Though your back was probably blossoming with bruises, you were sure you’d survive.
“Let me go get Chopper. Just stay here for a minute. Please.” His last word was barely a whisper. It was that word, that small act of begging, that kept you anchored to where you laid.
“Alright, alright.” You closed your eyes. “You fuss too much.”
“I do not-” You could hear him clench his jaw in frustration. “Just stay still for a minute!”
His hurried footsteps receded, and you could hear distant shouts from off in the distance, followed by footsteps coming back to you quickly.
“She slipped and fell,” Zoro said softly, and you could hear Chopper set down his medical kit and open it.
“Can you open your eyes for me?” Chopper asked. You opened them.
“Do you know your name?”
You laughed. “Of course I do!”
Chopper and Zoro didn’t join your laughter, so you gave your full name to the doctor.
The reindeer nodded. “And do you know where you are?”
You sighed. “The Sunny. The Grand Line. Don’t ask me where on the Grand Line, because I wouldn’t even know that on my best day.”
Chopper gave a slight smile at that answer, but Zoro was still watching you from a few feet away. He was tucked back in a corner, almost as if he was scared of you.
“Did you hear me?” Chopper asked, waving a hand in front of your face.
You blinked. You hadn’t heard his question. You hadn’t even realized he was speaking.
“What is five plus five?” Chopper asked again.
“Oh. Ten,” you answered quickly, taking your eyes off of Zoro for only a moment before finding him again. He looked so pale, and his mouth was pressed in such a tight line as he watched Chopper. You opened your mouth to speak, but Chopper spoke first.
“Zoro, can you come help her sit up? I’d like to check her back for any signs of injury.”
“Chopper, I told you already! I’m fine!” Your words were accompanied with a groan as you tried to sit up on your own.
Zoro was suddenly there, gently guiding you into a sitting position. You rolled back your shoulders, trying to shake off the stiffness of your muscles. Zoro only watched you, his face still hard as stone.
“Zoro.” Your fingers cupped his face, forcing his eyes to lock onto yours. “I’m here. I’m okay, really.”
“She’s right,” Chopper agreed, looking at you. “Some icky bruises for a few days, and you probably have a minor concussion, but you’re okay.”
“See?” You smiled. “I’m okay.”
Zoro nodded and pulled his face away from your grip. The panic in his eyes has subsided, but only slightly.
“I probably need a lot of bedrest though, right Chopper?” You gave a slight nudge to the reindeer.
“Huh? You don’t-” Chopper caught your wink and worried glance at Zoro. “Oh! Yes! She needs lots of rest. And she shouldn’t be alone…because of the concussion! Zoro, can you look after her?”
Zoro narrowed his eyes slightly, and you gave him a sheepish grin and you held out your hands. “Help me up?” you asked.
He did you one better, gently picking you up off the ground. He was careful to avoid the sensitive spots on your back. How he knew exactly where they were, you weren’t sure, but you were thankful he was considerate.
You were quick to pull him into bed and snuggle into his chest. Even if it wasn’t the most comfortable for your sore body, you were happy to be close to him.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“No.” His response was short, clipped.
“Okay,” you hummed, curling in closer to him.
A few minutes passed in comforting silence, and you were almost asleep when he kissed the top of your head.
“I thought you were dead,” he whispered hoarsely. “I thought I lost you and I just…I couldn’t go through that again. I can’t lose you.”
“You won’t. I’m right here,” you murmured softly into his chest, letting his warmth lull you into a deep sleep.

The Straw Hats (+Ace) with you being injury prone
Featuring: Zoro x Reader, Luffy x Reader, Sanji x Reader, Usopp x Reader, Ace x Reader
Summary - you get hurt very easily. waking up with random bruises, tripping over your own feet, walking into walls, etc. and your boyfriend is extremely concerned.
Warnings - like one swear word
A/N: im super clumsy and VERY injury prone, so i thought this might be fun to write. writing this with ice on a bump on my head :))))
ZORO
Zoro tends to get murderous when he spots an injury or even the smallest cut on you. He is immediately ready to tear up whatever caused it, or slice the person responsible into ribbons. So you try to hide it as best you can, especially since you are especially clumsy and getting hurt is your biggest skill. Got a cut or bruise? You're wearing long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Bump on your head? Beanie or hat.
Sometimes, though, your body forgets you're trying to conceal your clumsiness and it will blatantly expose you, such as right now.
"OW! DAMN IT!"
You had been trying to sneak up on Zoro, who was laying out on deck - you guessed it - taking another nap. One of his eyes opened at the sudden cry, landing on your figure nearby. You were hopping around on one foot, clutching your knee with both hands, your expression pained. The swordsman sat up.
"How did you hurt your knee?"
Indeed, there was nothing around for you to hit your knee on - a precaution taken by Nami and Chopper, the only two who knew about your unfortunate tendency to get hurt.
"I...I kicked it."
"How did you-" Zoro was absolutely stunned. He was an idiot, but even he knew there's no way you could kick your own knee. It was physically impossible. He got up to come an inspect it.
"I'm fine!" You promised, setting your foot down - unfortunately for you, it twisted and took you down with it. "OW!"
Zoro's jaw dropped. It took a hot minute for him to react, too shocked to fully comprehend what had just happened. When he got over it he carefully lifted you up, taking you back to his hammock so he could take care of you. He had turned his back for a second before he heard a loud thud.
You groaned.
"HOW DID YOU FALL OFF THE HAMMOCK?!"
He was immediately rushing over to pick you up again, keeping you in his arms this time. He was so worried, the poor guy, eyes grazing over your body in concern. You didn't look physically hurt, but he could tell you were in pain. Mostly from the impacts of your falls. From then on, he's your personal bodyguard, having to physically move some things so you wouldn't knock against them, or move you so you wouldn't hit anything. As for the hammock...he always made sure to get on first so he could hold you and keep you from rolling off.
Good luck convincing him to ever let you walk anywhere - or do anything - alone again.
LUFFY
Luffy is a menace. Far from being concerned about you when you would trip or bump your head, this damn idiot has the nerve to burst into loud, uncontrollable laughter.
"You're funny, (Name)!"
And he doesn't mean to hurt or upset you, it's just the way he is. He's seen you on the battlefield, mercilessly crushing whoever got in your way, so he doesn't think much of these little accidents. He thinks you're not hurt, that you're completely fine and doing it on purpose to - yes this is his reason - entertain him. After all, why else would such a ruthless fighter just flop and fall around for no reason?
"Luffy, I don't think she did that on purpose..." Usopp tried to tell the captain, who was trying to convince you to fall again.
You frowned, trying your best to not get upset with your dumbass boyfriend, and before you could stop yourself, your body already obliged. You turned and walked right into the mast - face smashing against the hard wood. You groaned and stumbled back, your nose hurting and eyes glossing over. You fell onto your butt, earning another round of obnoxious laughter from Luffy.
"DON'T JUST SIT THERE AND LAUGH!" Sanji knocked Luffy so hard on his head that the captain fell to the floor, hitting the deck face-first. Then the cook came to help you up.
"Thanks," you mumbled, feeling so embarrassed.
It was then that Luffy noticed your tears, and he sprung to his feet - completely unaffected by Sanji's attack. He came up to you and grabbed your arms, making you look at him.
"(Name), what's wrong?"
"I'm fine," you smiled, shaking off his concern. You made to walk away, but you once again turned and slammed into the mast.
"CAN WE MOVE THIS DAMN THING?!"
"But that's...that's always been there?" Usopp said-asked meekly.
You shot him a glare so withering that he screamed and cowered behind Luffy, who just laughed and wrapped his arms around you, extending them until he had you completely encased in a cocoon made by his arms.
"There, now you can't get hurt!"
SANJI
Sanji, like Zoro, tends to overreact when you get hurt. And by overreact, I mean he dropkicks everyone and everything that dared to cause you harm. So you try to hide your injuries from your overly concerned boyfriend, opting to cover them with layers. Sanji found this a bit odd, but otherwise didn't press. But slowly he started to notice things he hadn't before.
"My love, watch that-"
You bumped into the wall, sending your book crashing onto your face.
"-wall."
He rushed over to check if you were okay, laughing a little when you pulled the book away from your face to smile at him sheepishly.
"I'm fine."
Seconds after you said that disaster struck again, with you tripping over your own feet - with absolutely nothing being in the way - and falling over. Sanji's eyes widened and he quickly helped you back up.
"You are very clumsy, (Name)," he chuckled, not knowing that was exactly it.
"I am," you agreed, hiding your embarrassed blush behind your book.
Before he could say anything else, you took off and tried to quickly walk away before he could notice the growing bruise on your knee. That failed, as you hadn't taken three steps before you crashed into one of your oncoming crewmates, and fell backwards.
"Mosshead! Why did you push (Name)!" Sanji yelled, coming over looking ready to throw hands.
"As if I would do that!" The swordsman snapped back.
"Well she's on the floor isn't she?!"
"She bumped into me!"
"How dare you blame (Name) you big oaf!"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
You quickly stood up and got in between them, averting the total destruction of the Going Merry.
"He's right, Sanji. I bumped into him. I told you I'm clumsy."
You didn't have to say more before you were suddenly scooped up into the cook's arms, hearts in his eyes with his next words.
"Well then I'll just carry you everywhere my love!"
USOPP
Generally speaking, Usopp is a lot more alert than most of the crew. So it's no surprise that he picked up on your clumsiness early on, but he didn't think it was anything to worry about since it was just small stuff. But the moment you walked in one day with a bag of ice on your head, unsuccessfully trying to conceal it under a hat, Usopp grew alarmed.
"(Name), is everything okay?" Your concerned boyfriend asked you, stopping you from lifting something up. "Your head-"
"Is fine," you finished with a smile, kissing his cheek. "But thanks babe."
You walked away before he could insist on you telling him what was going on. But unfortunately for you, your two left feet gave you away and you stumbled forward, dropping the box and then tumbling over it. Usopp cried out in alarm and ran to your side, helping you up.
"(Name)!" He fussed over you. "Okay that's it, what's going on?"
"Should have known I couldn't fool the brave Captain Usopp," you smiled, trying to divert his attention.
"Well, I-" He stopped laughing confidently when he realised what you were doing, "Hey! You can't do that! Tell me, I'm worried."
You sighed, "I'm just clumsy, that's all. And injury prone."
"That...explains a lot..."
You growled and smacked him, "Is that all you can say?!"
"S-sorry!" He apologised quickly, rubbing his head. He was about to take you to Chopper for nothing other than he was worried you were hurt internally, when you suddenly tripped and fell on top of him.
He groaned, "Clumsy is an understatement."
ACE
He notices right away. There was no way it was normal for someone to walk into a wall that they knew was there, or to trip on a flat surface, or bonk their head on a shelf that they knew was over their heads - multiple times. But somehow, you managed to do all of that and more, and poor Ace was sick with worry about your physical health.
"OW! FUCK!"
Ace's head shot up from the bed, "What happened?!"
"I hit my head again..."
"Same shelf?"
"...Same shelf."
He chuckled before getting up and going over to you, bringing you into his strong arms. He placed a kiss on your head, replacing your hand rubbing your sore spot with his hand.
Later on, you were trying to bring him something, when you stubbed your toe on the bedframe and tumbled onto the bed, startling the poor man out of his nap.
"(Name)!" He figured you must have tripped, but he was not prepared for your tears. "Where does it hurt?"
"My toe..." You pouted. "I hit my food on the bed."
He face-palmed. It takes a lot for Ace of all people to face-palm, so embarrassment creeped up on you. Before you could protest, he pulled you on top of him and made you lay on his chest.
"I swear, you're a walking safety hazard," he teased. "Looks like I can't let you leave the room now."
He meant it. And if you did leave, it was with him. He was just too worried about not being around when you hurt yourself, which was valid because he was always your source of comfort.
Later...
"What happened to your eye?"
"I...fell...out of the bed..."
"...."
You are on the verge of making Ace cry.

Talking about chronic pain Zoro. What about ZoSopp getting bodyswitched, as a prompt? And when Usopp tells Chopper about all the pain, he's just !!!!?¡¡¡¡¿¿??!!!!
“Why can’t we just ask Traffy to switch us back.” Usopp’s whining voice coming from Zoro’s face is still off putting. If Nami squints she can see Usopp’s mannerisms on the face.
“He’s not the one who switched you, who knows what that’ll do.” Chopper notes with a worried expression creasing his brow.
Nami crosses her arms. “Not to mention I am not calling in one of out favors from him if this just resolves itself.” She says, waving her hand dismissively.
Usopp groans, slumping over the table. “This sucks so bad, everything hurts.” He glances over at Zoro, who is occupying his body. “How are you just chilling?”
It’s almost comical to see Zoro’s serious resting expression on Usopp’s face. He stands there with his arms crossed and raises and eyebrow.
“I’m fine.” Zoro says simply, shrugging.
Usopp scoffs. His skin is slightly shiny from sweat. “That’s so unfair. My head’s killing me. How do you deal with the lack of depth perception? My ankle’s hurt when I walk. Were you training all night or what?” He asks, full well knowing Zoro was sleeping like the dead - Franky on guard duty for the night - right until they were attacked.
“Do you have any pain Zoro? Or discomfort.” Chopper asks. “Or what Usopp would consider pain.” He adds and Usopp throws in a protesting ‘hey’.
Zoro rolls his neck and shoulders, shifts on his feet. “Feel better than usual actually.” He says shrugging and entirely oblivious to the way his words land like a gavel.
“Are you usually in pain?” Nami asks.
Zoro looks at her strangely. “What?”
She closes her eyes and folds her hands in front of her face. Instead she turns to Usopp. “The pain in your legs, is it around here.” She says, pointing a few inches above her ankle. Usopp scoots to the edge of the chair and puts pressure on Zoro’s legs. His face contorts marginally even from the little amount of force. He leans down to point towards a general area around lower leg.
“Like around here I guess.” He says and Chopper comes closer to examine it, opening the laches on Zoro’s boots.
“So around where you tried to chop your legs off at Little Garden.” Nami tells Zoro.
Chopper gasps. “He did what?”
He shrugs, one brow raised. “So? It healed fine.”
“How deep did you cut?” Chopper asks, alarmed, voice rising in volume and Usopp winces.
“Can we not yell, maybe? Thanks. Head? Still hurting.” Usopp tells them with growing irritation.
And Nami feels so ridiculously foolish. “Probably a strain headache.” She used to get them all the time, working by weak candlelight for hours to finish Arlong’s maps.
Chopper looks towards Zoro with the disappointment of a worried parent and Zoro does his best to avoid his gaze. “Dunno what the big deal is, you said it would wear off right? It’ll be back to normal soon.” He mutters, almost apologetic towards Usopp who looks at him with his mouth falling open.
“Man, that’s so not the issue right now.” Usopp tells him. “Do you always fee like this?” He asks.
Zoro pulls his shoulders up marginally and if Nami didn’t know his tells she could mistake the motion as annoyance.
Instead she reads it as almost embarrassed. “Not always. It’s not that bad anyway. Don’t know if the switch did something.” He mumbles, not looking at any of them.
“Shit, really?” Usopp asks with open shock.
Zoro just shrugs again and says nothing.

Dracule Mihawk X Archer!Fem!Reader
Summary: After almost bleeding to death going up against an admiral you find yourself on a dark and gloomy island where your injuries get the best of you. Making your way through the ominous land and standing off with a baboon on steroids you stumble upon a seemingly empty castle. Little did you know that not only was the castle occupied but occupied by a warlord, the world's greatest swordsman in training, and... A ghost girl?
word count: +5k
Warnings: blood, fighting, Zoro being Zoro, ooc Akainu, reader gets a bounty eventually, stealing from the marines, intrigued Mihawk, unsuspecting Kobe, feels for Mihawk, slow burn
Author's Notes: I'm SO happy people seem to like Chapter 1 of Learning Curve (Katakuri x Valkyrie!Fem!Reader) Updates will be slow but I promise it'll be worth the wait! If you ask to be tagged in the series I will def tag you! Anyway! Here is my first Mihawk writing, not sure if it will continue but let me know if you want more!
The waves were aggressive in these parts of the sea and you knew it, you just didn't want to admit you didn't know how to sail on your own, especially in the grad line. The blood running down your abdomen wasn't helping either. You hiss trying to tether the sails so you don't drift off course in your little boat. With the rain pelting your face you genuinely didn't know which direction you were going you just knew you had to get far away from here. In the distance behind you, there sits a smoking marine ship up in flames with the distinct shouts of everyone trying to give hurried orders. Your bow lay thrown on the deck with your arrows scattered at your feet. Escaping was particularly hard not knowing a fleet admiral was on board.
What was meant to be a small robbery turned into a wild goose chase the second you crawled over the port side where said admiral was enjoying his tea. You both stare at each other for a solid minute before you laugh, smile, and book it.
Running through the ship grabbing anything that looked of value, your dodging skills came in handy when the bullets started whizzing by your head. You didn’t mean to catch the ship on fire, honestly, that was the admiral's fault.
All the halls look the same to you as you dip in and out of doors. Some meeting rooms, some with bunk beds, and some supply closets.
As you make your way through a kitchen you snag a tasty-looking roll then come face-to-face with Akainu blocking the only other exit in the room. You turn to go back the way you came when three more lieutenants block your way. They bring up their guns as you raise your hands and slowly turn back to the admiral.
“If you give up now we won't have to do this the hard way.” Akainu tried to intimidate you, tried to give you an out but to no avail, you only smirk in response.
“Now where’s the fun in that admiral?” In seconds you draw your bow and an arrow of your creation to send it straight through Akainu. He turns part of his abdomen to lava to avoid the arrow, exactly what you hoped for. A thick wire was attached to the arrow you shot connecting it to your wrist brace. Hitting a switch on your bow the wire starts to coil around the arrow pulling your light frame through the air. Due to Akainu melting half his abdomen to avoid the arrow, you fly through him. You hit the wall hard outside the kitchen with a grunt. That'll bruise for sure. You cut the wire with a blade attached to your thigh and bolt to your left hoping to be heading toward an exit. Unbeknownst to you back in the kitchen the three lieutenants are panicking watching the lava eat through the floor, the hole getting bigger by the minute.
“Well, what are you waiting for go after her!” Akainu’s voice booms. The three lieutenants scatter out the door they were blocking, one dropping his rifle and going after you.
Continuing through the halls you bound past two smaller marines, one with pinkish hair and glasses, the other one with yellow hair and a weird bullcut. With the roll in your mouth, you make eye contact with the pink-haired marine and wink. His face flushes but does nothing to stop you. Rounding through the corridors you come in contact with a few more trainees but you take them out easily. One you knocked in the head with your bow and another you choke tell he passes out. The last one was a little harder engaging in combat with you. His moves were slow, not aiming for any of your vitals so you swiped his legs and carried on.
The alarms start to blare in your ears when you notice the smell of paint burning. You make it to the front deck of the ship, slamming through a door, when you turn to see smoke billowing out from one side of the ship. While fighting off a handful of men one tries to pull your hair. You grimace while giving him a crazed smile as you cut your hair severing his hold on you. To be fair he didn't have a good hold so thankfully there was more length left than you thought. You kick his stomach with your heavy boot and run to a dingy attached to the side of the ship.
Before you can safely lower the small boat you hear a deafening voice calling for more backup on the side you were trying to escape from. You look up and see Akainu standing on the tallest deck, face contorted in anger. You panic and start cutting the rope with the dagger to get as far away as possible. Right before you cut the last line Akainu sends some of his lava in your direction shaped as, who would have guessed, the arrow you shot earlier. You lift your arm swinging hard trying to get through the rope before it hits you. As the line severs and the boat drops you get hit directly in the abdomen, straight to where you aimed at Akainu. The impact of the water was bruising, and the added sting from the wound made you groan in agony while trying to set sail. Thankfully it was not a direct hit, most of Akainu’s shot hit the railing of the ship as you fell.
You drifted from the smoky ship, shooting your head up when you started to hear guns fire. Once the small sail was finally set you paddle to add the extra distance.
This is where you find yourself now, struggling against a storm that came out of nowhere. The Marine ship is now a small dot in the distance as you struggle to tie a piece of ripped cloth around your burned stomach. After, you try to make-shift some shelter from the emergency kit on board to protect yourself from the storm. You tie one last knot in the rope holding the sail then take cover as much as you can. You take a moment to assess your wound before hissing and pulling your shirt back down. Becoming exhausted from your little adventure (disaster) the sound of the thunder becomes a thought in the back of your mind as you drift farther into a warm darkness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Waking up who knows how long after your extravagant exit you find your undersized rig beached on a gloomy island. You try to sit up but hiss at the pain shooting through your torso. You quickly squeeze the wound trying to stop not only the bleeding but the pain. Slowly as you hold your breath you use the side of the boat to lift yourself to your feet. In the distance can be herded wild screams from an animal you hope not to run into. You sway as you take in your surroundings looking from left to right. At the top of a mountain sits an old-looking gray brick castle. Occupied or not you knew you needed to get to some safe cover. Trying and failing to pull the dingy more onshore you give up and hurry to grab your bow and arrows from the makeshift tent on board. Turning to the line of the forest you hesitate only for a second listening to the monstrous noises. The burning in your abdomen makes you take the first step.
Pushing past the first couple of bushes and trees the light becomes scarce with how dense the woods are. You pick up a stick and start taking out spider webs before you run into them venturing forward. With your other hand holding your wound you hurry in the direction of the castle.
The ominous sounds become closer the deeper you go. Noticing a branch snapping and the rustling of leaves you believe something is following you. You pause for a brief moment and hear it again but this time from above you. You turn to look behind you, the shore a small picture in the distance. As you turn to take a step to move on your head gets dizzy and your vision tunnels. For a split second, you thought you were gonna pass out from blood loss but something else kept you awake. A blood-curdling screech sounds from above you confirming that someone or something was tailing you.
You lurch forward and roll on the ground with a deep painful grunt before taking your bow off your back, pointing an arrow at the beast that made contact with the ground behind you. The earth shakes with its landing and your balance almost wavers. The beast stands tall on two feet with a sword in hand. It resembles other monkey species you've run into before but you still don't know exactly what you were up against.
Before it leaps for you, you let an arrow fly at its face. You turn quickly and flee before you can see the arrow burst into a powder on the creature. You glance behind your shoulder not stopping while clutching your side seeing the pinkish hase dissipate and the beast falls forward looking very sleepy. You let out a breath you don't realize you are holding. You haven’t tested the sleeping powder before now so you are very satisfied it seems to work! Before you can fully celebrate you start to hear even more loud beastly calls from the trees above you. They swung from tree to tree after you causing your stomach to drop, they were gaining on you. You pick up your pace hoping it's not too long before you reach the castle. Pushing past some thick shrubbery you almost fall forward as you come across a wide opening. You realize it's a stone path leading to the front doors of the castle.
Still clutching your bleeding abdomen you rush forward not realizing the sounds of the beasts fade the closer you get to said castle. This time when your vision tunnels and your limbs get heavy you fall against tall double doors. You reach your bloodied hand up and start to pound, it may look abandoned and you may be dying but you still have decent common sense no matter how fast you are fading. Knocking was polite. Your blood was a stark contrast to the clean wood of the double door. Just when you think the castle is indeed abandoned you hear a female voice call from within. It didn't sound like it was directed to you but to others inside. You take a stumble back hearing a lock click before the door creaks open. Before you see anyone you hear the female voice speak again.
“This better be good enough to interrupt my baking sesh otherwise I swear-” Cutting in you feel warmth fill your mouth.
“Help ple-” Instead of finishing the sentence blood pools your mouth and spills over. You lift your hand trying to stop it from leaking out but there is too much.
The younger girl with pink hair and frilly apron gasps, eyes widening as she yanks the door wider.
“ZORO!” She shouts and before you can comprehend it there is a male presence next to you. Your eyes water with the realization that you might not make this one out alive.
The green-haired male lifts your figure and halls you inside. Passing the threshold you become limp in his arms.
“Perona get Mihawk now.” Zoro says sternly yet he stays calm overall. The pinkette disappears down some hall as Zoro walks you down some corridors. The lights overhead are fading with every blink. You clutch onto Zoro’s shirt trying to stay conscious. He eventually kicks a door open and walks into a well-lit room.
Zoro is talking to you, asking you questions trying to keep you conscious. You don't understand the words he says but you can still see his lips moving. Zoro lightly sets you on what you assume to be a bed before he rushes over to a table with some drawers on it.
Turning your head you try to speak but nothing but blood splatters the white sheets.
“Don't do that you'll make it worse.” You hear in the distance. Zoro is back with rags, gauze, and other things you didn't quite recognize in your hazy state. You hear more than feel Zoro rip your shirt open before pressing a rag to your wound. You don't hiss or react only close your eyes and let the tears flow. In the distance you hear the sound of clicking heals and heavy footsteps. A minute or so later the door to what you assume to be a medical ward opens swiftly. The pink-haired girl stands in the doorway with a tall and intimidating figure behind her.
The first thing you notice are his striking golden eyes. If you weren't dying you'd be blushing because of his intense stare. The second thing you notice as your eyes drift is the pinched look on the girl's face. Did you look that bad?
“What is going on here?” The taller figure asks with a clipped tone. Perona, as Zoro called her, glances at the greenette and then back up at the man beside her.
“We aren't 100% sure, she was banging on the front door and this is how we found her.” Zoro removes the bloodied cloth from your wound to examine it.
“Mihawk this looks bad, it's a major burn wound and it won't stop bleeding from the main laceration.” Zoro turns on his heels to face the two. “If we don't do something she is going to die.”
Perona looks up to who you now know as Mihawk, his face is blank. You don't recognize the name at first in your state but you feel like you should be more scared of the man in the doorway. His eyes shift down from Zoro’s face to yours. You hope your eyes were expressive enough to get across your plea for help. Perona shifts uneasily as Mihawk stays still, unmoving. With a deep sigh, he uncrosses his arms and steps in. Rolling up his sleeves he proclaims,
“Fine but you are in charge of her when she wakes Perona.” Some type of relief falls over your body and you sag with exhaustion.
“Me!? Why me?!” Perona shouts at Mihawk for assigning her to nurse duty. Zoro gets out of Mihawk's way as he sits down to examine your wound. He feels your forehead, eyes slightly scowling knowing you are likely running a fever as well. Mihawk starts listing off things for Zoro and Perona to get for him to work on you but your consciousness is fading fast. Mihawk notices with a side glance and tilts his head to you.
“Sleep. You won't want to feel this.” These are the last words you remember before the darkness takes hold of your body.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two days pass unbeknownst to you. Your sleeping figure fighting against the wound and the fever. Zoro goes about his business training though stopping by whenever he seems to stumble upon the medical ward. His straight face was easily readable to Perona, knowing he was worried about the stranger lying unconscious in the bed. Perona was bouncing around the infirmary rinsing cool rags and setting them on your head, she also changed your wound dressings when she noticed them getting a little too red. Most of the bleeding stopped by the first night but every once in a while you would jolt in your sleep and a new gush of blood would slowly seep through the dressings.
If Perona wasn't taking care of you she was sitting next to you reading and sipping on some tea. Mihawk hovers only to see when you would wake up. On the second night, everyone retires for the evening when you wake up with a start. You gasp with wide eyes as you try to remember where you were. The room is dark with only the moonlight and a single candle illuminating the wide space. Your hand makes its way to the throbbing of your side to find newly wrapped gauze and padding. You slowly move the blankets and shirt to look down at yourself. Admiring a job well done you try to sit up. The pain that shoots through you makes you hesitate but you push yourself. You swing your feet over to have them land on cool tiling. You notice you weren't in your original clothing, now sporting loose joggers and a loose-fitting top. You take a deep breath almost gagging at how sterile the room is, you could almost taste it.
Taking small light steps you make your way to the door opening it slowly. You lean heavily on the door frame when entering the hall. You look both ways before you notice a very faint light coming from the end of the hall around the corner. Relying on the stability of the wall you make your way past paintings and doors. Once you reach the end of the hall you turn to find an archway about a quarter way down the corridor. Hissing at the sharp pain when you try to stand straight you step forward anyway. Reaching the warm light you now see a cozy yet large library with a fireplace burning on one side of the room. Your eyes widen at the vast collection of books. You take one step inside before you feel a hand grab your left arm.
“You are supposed to be resting little one.” You gasp at the light hold and deep voice. Whipping your head to the side you meet the same piercing gold eyes with the same intense stare. You have to crane your neck to fully meet his gaze. You stutter trying to respond but before you can Mihawk is leading you to a sofa in front of the fireplace. A book lay abandoned on the arm of the couch which you assume he was occupying before you interrupted. He sat you down gingerly before taking a seat in the chair diagonal from you. You clear your throat when you finally find your voice.
“Thank you… For everything. I wasn’t aware this castle was occupied when I landed here but I am very grateful it was. All of you saved my life.” You stare into the fire mesmerized by the dancing flames. You glance at Mihawk nervous now conscious of who he was. First an admiral and now a warlord. What next? The king of the pirates?
Mihawk sat frozen with his legs crossed and his hands conjoined above his mouth just observing you. You shift under his gaze and look back to the fire. Before you find the words to continue Mihawk breaks his silence.
“The other two showed up in similar states. At this point, it's like I’m running a hospital.” You turn away and grimace. You knew you were being a burden but he didn't need to say it so coldly. As if reading your thoughts Mihawk continues seemingly unbothered.
“Perona will be taking care of you as you burn heals. From the looks of your abdomen, you probably won't be able to sail for at least two weeks.” Your eyes widen at his words, just how bad did Akainu get you? Your eyes drift down to your wound where your hand already sat. You were in a good amount of pain right now all things considered. Probably not the best idea to wonder for too long.
“Either way, thank you for your hospitality and I’ll work hard to get out of your hair soon enough Sir.” You don't meet his eyes but you can feel his gaze on you, his eyes raking over your body. To you, he’s analyzing if you were to become a threat. In reality, he was wondering how much longer you would stay conscious. You have some pretty heavy pain meds in your system now so for you to be holding a conversation was impressive. Not that he would admit that.
“Mihawk is fine.” This is when you finally meet his eyes. Expecting his intense and methodical stare you were surprised to see curiosity and interest. You turn your head back to the fireplace in hopes the glow of the flames could mask your slight blush. His eyes were gorgeous when not giving someone the death glare.
“Since you seem fine enough to hold a basic conversation, I am intrigued to know how you stumbled upon my land and home. Do tell little one.” Mihawk uncrosses his legs and stands. He walks over to a wine rack and picks a bottle easily. “Wine?” He questions without turning around. You take a chance to admire his back muscles while you can.
“Please. That sounds fantastic. And the names (Y/n) for your information.” You wear a hint of a smile enjoying your banter with the warlord. Mihawk walks back to his seat across from you and sets down two wine glasses. He fills them equally and leans back taking a long sip. You grab yours and smell, you’ve always enjoyed a nice aroma to your wine. Taking a sip you lean back as well, relaxing on the sofa.
“Well, where do I even begin? First and foremost, I am a traveling merchant. I get hired to do odd jobs as I travel around from island to island. My skills are a wide variety from handling a bow and arrow to basic construction to hunting people down. I like to keep people on their toes. Currently, I am between jobs, I was sailing to Water 7 when I came in contact with a Marine vessel. It was smaller, maybe a cargo ship. I thought since I am low on funds, what's a little scavenger hunt gonna do?” You take another sip of your wine before setting down the glass on the low table in front of you. Resting your elbows on your knees you warm your hands up and rest them against your face.
“I didn't know there was a fleet admiral on board at the time. Let alone know it was Akainu.” You side glance at Mihawk and see the barest twitch of his eyebrows. You take that as a queue to continue.
“I climbed aboard not thinking much of it at the time but I should have scoped it out more beforehand. I should have absorbed my surroundings and should have followed the ship for a while before boarding. There was plenty I could have done at the moment to prevent what happened but… I slipped up. I was starving, being out at sea for so long without food and water will do that to ya I guess.” Your shoulders slump as you sag backward. “At first when I got past him I thought I was in the clear. I should have known from the moment I set foot on the deck that I wasn't getting away unscathed. After running around for a while and tumbling through marine after marine he finally spotted my getaway. Before I knew it I was dropping a dinghy into the water and my abdomen was bleeding. My goal was Water 7 but a storm swept in. My old rig being left behind I set sail and hoped for the best.”
You were leaving out key details like the amount you got off the ship or how you got jumped by a baboon on steroids on your way to his castle but he didn't need to know that. You open your eyes to look at the man beside you and notice he is looking into the fireplace. You couldn’t recognize the emotions you saw in his eyes but you assumed it was nothing bad considering you were still sitting next to the warlord. For a brief moment, you didn’t think he would say anything but he surprised you by setting down his now-empty wine glass and standing. You follow his movements out of your peripheral and take the last swig of your wine. Before a second thought crosses your mind Mihawk then extends his hand in invitation. You glance at his hand and then up to meet his eyes but he still looks towards the fire. You set your wine glass down next to his and proceed to stand. Or, attempt to stand, that is. As you flex your abdomine to gain balance a sharp pain runs through your stomach. You hiss as you drop back on the sofa. You look up to Mihawk again now understanding his gesture. You take his hand without looking at his face and he helps you stand on your own two feet.
“You must be hungry. I always say a good wine requires a good snack.” Mihawk lets you lean some weight onto his arm as he leads you out of the library.
“A snack sounds fantastic right about now.” As if in queue your stomach lets out an atrocious growl that reddens your face. Mihawk peeks at you while you look at a very interesting painting as if your stomach didn't drop an atomic bomb in the hallway.
“With the looks of it, I’m surprised you lasted this long without collapsing. Undernourished and injured do not mix well.” It’s as if the briefest hint of a smile crosses Mihawk’s face. You barely catch a glimpse as your eyes dart to his.
“As small as I seem I am one tough cookie thank you very much.” You retort as you raise your head high. “My skills with my bow did not come easily.” You say almost to yourself. Mihawk does not miss this. The rest of the walk to what you assumed to be the kitchen was silent. A comfortable silence as you admire the decor and photos. Most are of landscapes and waterfalls but one in particular caught your attention before you walked past a threshold.
Sitting upon the bleak wall was a massive photo of Yoru, Mihawk’s beloved sword. You pause admiring the beautiful craftwork and detail in the painting. Mihawk glances at the painting before down at you. His gaze sweeps your face admiring the awe in your eyes. He’d never admit it but the look on your face now was almost as beautiful as the painting you admire. With your mouth slightly open and eyes wide you take your time to absorb the scene. Yoru stands tall in the center, leaning up against gold and jewels. The gold cross-guard somehow shone brighter than any piece of jewelry in the painting. The black blade is a contrast to the vibrant colors of the gems surrounding it. Your breath catches in your throat as your memory is thrown to your beloved bow and arrows.
“My stuff. Where is it?” Your voice was slightly colder in tone when you spoke. Mihawk lets you lean against the wall next to the painting of Yoru and takes a step away. He turns and crosses the threshold to the kitchen before responding calmly.
“Your things are in a guest bedroom you will be moving to after you eat.” You visibly calm, the tension leaving your body. You take one last glance at Yoru before proceeding. Your bow and arrows were your most valuable possessions, a gift that could never be replaced. You support more of your weight on your feet as you follow Mihawk. You venture to the island in the middle of the room and sit on a bar stool. Mihawk opens a pantry pulls out a loaf of bread and makes his way to a refrigerator. He proceeds to pull out some ingredients and begins to make you a sandwich. To your amazement, you find a delicious meal presented to you on a porcelain plate within a minute or so.
“Again, thank you…” You glance up at Mihawk before you continue. “You know, for a terrifying warlord you’re very sweet.”
You look from the food to him again. He stands across from you leaning up against the opposite counter. His sleeves are rolled up to his elbows and you can't help but notice the veins running down his forearms and into his hands. A shiver runs down your spine and you take a big bite of the sandwich averting your eyes. Before you can question if Mihawk saw you staring he takes a couple of steps forward resting his hands on the island you sit at. He acts as if your last comment was never said.
“For the next few days, I don't expect you to be up and walking as much. Once you are however we can discuss payment options for my… Services.” Mihawk says with an earnest gaze. Swallowing hard you set the sandwich back onto its place in front of you. Trying to sit up as straight as possible you meet his eyes head-on, trying not to seem intimidated or nervous even when your stomach was in knots. However, you couldn't tell if it was from hunger or anxiety.
“Of course, I understand. Whatever it is I’ll do my best to pay you back. You did save my life after all.” Mihawk just hums in reply and stands.
“Finish your food and I’ll assist you to your room.” With that, he steps out of the kitchen for a moment.
Taking this opportunity you shove your face with the delicious sandwich. Nothing has ever tasted so good after weeks of no food at sea. You slow down reaching the last few bites of the sandwich wanting to savor the flavors like it's your last meal. With your life, you never knew when your last meal was going to be. Licking your fingers and patting your stomach you sigh. With the food now in your full stomach you take a moment to look around the Kitchen. It's a decent size even with the island in the middle of the room. Plenty of cabinets lined the tall walls and a pantry sits in one corner. You wonder if Mihawk likes to cook. With the look of how clean it was he either loved to cook or never did. You stand gingerly trying to walk without the support of a wall or counter. You felt confident the first few steps to the sink but right when you thought you were in the clear a stabbing pain flew through your abdomen making you cringe and fall forward. You were able to lightly toss the plate onto the countertop before hitting the ground on your knees. Before your face falls flat on the hardwood an arm comes across your chest. Even with your hair now blocking your face you knew it was Mihawk from the solid frame and sweet red wine breath. One hand clutches his arm as the other goes to your wound. You inhale sharply feeling yourself start to sweat from the pain.
“Let's get you to your room shall we?” Mihawk’s warm breath fans the top of your head, you squeeze your eyes shut trying to will away the pain.
“Give me a second to catch my breath and I-”
Without warning you are lifted into the air and pressed against a warm chest.
“Please, if you walk now you'll reopen my stitching.” Mihawk begins to walk gently out of the kitchen to a tall set of stairs by the front double doors. You can’t say anything with the warmth that spreads across your face. Hawkeye freaking Mihawk is carrying you up to a guest bedroom and you think your heart is about to jump out of your throat. Whether it is from butterflies or anxiety you couldn't tell.
Mihawk observes you for a brief moment noticing you hiding your face with your hair but chooses not to say anything. He knows his presence is intimidating and even though that is not his goal he can't help it. The persona he has built over the years as an intimidating warlord has protected him and haunted him. Yes, he may not be actively trying to participate with a group of pirates but no one ever said he never got lonely. With Zoro and Perona around, their presence has helped him realize he wouldn’t mind having someone around permanently possibly. Someone he knows is always going to be at home when he returns. What circumstances of the relationship with that person were still unknown to him but having another body around would be nice, to say the least.
Reaching the top of the stairs Mihawk turns to the right and passes a couple doors before stopping in front of one that was slightly ajar. Using his elbow to open it all the way Mihawk turns to not hit you on the door. He walks over to the king-sized bed that was situated at the far wall of the room and lies you gently on the covers. You take in the room, your head on a swivel when you notice all of your belongings on the desk up against a wall. You visibly relax as you turn your attention to Mihawk who is now at the end of the bed. He gestures to a small tray lying on the trunk stationed at the end of the bed.
“If the pain gets any worse take these and they will help you sleep. In the morning I’ll let Perona know you woke up late in the night and she will meet you for breakfast.” Before Mihawk could turn away and exit he gets caught frozen in place. You sat situated in the middle of the bed now, hair frazzled from days of not being washed yet the look you give him makes his heart skip a beat. Your appreciative gaze is crinkled by the wide smile you show him. You look younger, not injured. Your cheeks are rosy from the cool night air and your nose scrunches with your now Cheshire cat smile.
“Thank you Mihawk, truly. I look forward to speaking with you again.” You open your eyes once more and you could have sworn you saw the tips of his ears turn a shade of pink. Before you can see, Mihawk is turning towards the door and making his exit.
“Likewise little one.”

WC: 1.4k
Bad Summary: Luffy asks you about sex.
Black Fem Reader
CW: Reader is mentioned to have locs, Inexperienced Reader, Inexperienced Luffy, Luffy is surprisingly Shy/Nervous, this is no smut yet , just discussion of sex between you and him and a little suggestive, A Kiss, I tried my best to make it as Luffy accurate as possible….also Luffy speaks a little spanish.
-
“Y/NNNNNN!” Luffy’s whine echoed through out the Sunny. Once again on his daily duty to bother you, because it became one of his favorite hobbies since you joined. You’re his little escape when he wants to really rewind and relax.
Almost everyday at around 3-4pm when the ship isn’t busy he gets up from where ever he is to find you, ask you a thousand and one questions, hang out with you and today was no different except—
“Y/N!” Luffy beamed and barged into your room, as expected, but still managed to leave you shocked especially since you were getting dressed from just leaving the bath.
“Lu!” You throw your robe over your body, sure you’ve seen Luffy naked and he seems to never care about seeing your lady parts, but it was still something you obviously didn’t want to be a reoccurring situation between you both. “I’m—“
“I’m borreeddd!” Your nonplus captain closed the door with his foot before belly flopping on your bed, “Let’s finish playing that one card game you were teaching me—“
“LUFFY!” You snapped at him causing his face to look at your entire shape making you cover more of your body, “Can I get dressed in private pleassseeeee? And then we’ll play.”
“Meh.” He shrugged face planting himself back into your pillow, softly inhaling your natural scent he loved so much, “I won’t look, just hurry up.”
You sigh, you had no point of arguing with him, whatever Luffy wanted he got, and he was a man of his word so he didn’t look.
You strip of your towel and face the chair with your clean clothes. You hear him sigh with boredom, Luffy scoots his way at the edge of your bed and sees a magazines with pretty colors on it. Out of his wonderful curiosity he pulls the magazine out and his eyes widen.
“These are the same kinda magazines Sanji looks at! But with more guys.” Luffy thought scrolling through the pages, he was pretty shocked to see you also own a magazine for a split second, but his shock turned into curiosity.
“Did you take one of Sanji’s magazines, Y/N?”
You instantly felt your soul drop, you knew from nothing, but the silence of the pages turning and small giggles your captain had once again taken something he had no business taking.
“Y/N!—“
You quickly snatch the magazine from his hands, his smile fading just a little seeing the anger in your eyes as you went to slam it on your nightstand, “Don’t you know not to touch things that don’t belong to you?!”
You never yelled at Luffy before. You felt a bit of guilt arising in your chest so you turn away from him. The awkward tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. You expected to hear Luffy run off or even burst out laughing, but Eventually you feel his warm hand on your bare shoulder as you held your towel tightly.
“Y/n, are you embarrassed?”
The question was worded as if he were teasing but his tone sounded genuinely curious.
“No…I just…—“
“Y/N, do you also jack off?”
There wasn’t enough adjectives in the world to describe the crooked look you gave, snapping your head at him from behind seeing him grin at you playing with your locs again.
“…Luffy what—“
“You know, play with yourself and make yourself feel good. I mean Sanji does it with those magazines, Zoro and Usopp do too. So…if you had it—“
“Luffy women can’t jack off..it’s called..masturbating—-you know what that’s not the point! You can’t ask that?!”
“Why! It’s normal right?”
“….have you?”
Luffy shrugged, his fingers still fiddling with your hair a little while longer before sitting on your dresser to face you and swing his feet. “I did once, but got bored maybe I wasn’t doin it right.”
“…but how many times have you done it? Have you also done that stuff in the magazine too?”
If you had any color in your face is was already being sucked out of you. Gosh your captain was a interesting guy.
“Are you asking me if I ever had sex?”
“Yeah.”
“….n-no. No Luffy I haven’t.”
“Really? You and Traffy seemed like you did. You’re so close with him and—“
“No! No! Law and I have never.”
“Then why not? I’ve read—“
“You read?”
“…Robin read to me about sex and it was something very normal and common between people. Everybody else on the ship has, Nami, Robin, Zoro, even Sanji and he’s a pervert—“
“Well I haven’t.” You barked at him, you began to get a little defensive. It felt like he was almost poking fun at you for being a virgin. “There’s nothing wrong with not having sex Luffy.”
“Even if it was who cares? I don’t! I was just askin’…” He hopped off the dresser to now inch closer to your face and plant his hat on your head. “I have thought about it a few times though.”
You shot your head back up in shock to read his face, if it isn’t about being the pirate king or meat no way he could ever have something like SEX on his mind???
“Really?”
“Yeah, I just wanted to know what the big deal was, y’know? You have thought about it right? Like what it feels like instead of ….looking at pictures of it.”
His blunt remarks were cute, Luffy’s usual very proud and assertive when he speaks, but now it was like his energy shifted.
“Would you ever wanna try it?”
His question brought you out of your thoughts, causing you to blink blankly at him, “Well?”
“….Yes…Luffy, I have always thought abou—“
“Then let’s try it together!”
“Luffy!” You raised your voice seeing him grab your wrist to pull you down on top of him on the bed, your body being constrained by his limbs wrapping twice around your body. “Luf!!”
“What?” He ask plainly watching you squirm against his chest, “Don’t you wanna?”
You swallowed the lump in your throat, sure you did and embarrassingly enough you have thought about with him specifically but he never gave you the impression he was ever interested in sex, this all felt like a cruel joke in someway.
“I…do, but Luffy we should…we should slow down. Do it the right way just in case someone gets hurt, plus…do you really want to?”
“oh…right.” Your captain clears his throat softly shaking his head at his forwardness noticing it made you a bit uncomfortable to then place you beside him on the edge of the bed releasing you, “I have for a while..since Dressrosa.”
“What happened there that you haven’t told me already?”
Luffy mimics zipping his lips with his hand, rolling your eyes playfully you both share a giggle, “But 1 thing I seen a lot was..um…”
He wasn’t that he didn’t know what it was he would have just rather taken the time to show you, so looking around your room he stretches his arm out to show you said magazine, scrolling quickly through the pages he lands on a picture of two people, “That. A lot of people did that.”
“Kissing?” You ask and he nods happily giggling which made your tense face soften, sighing at him you cup his squishy cheeks with both hands, you admired his features for a moment.
His light brown skin, pretty dark hair, the small dimples on his cheeks that always appear when he smiles, how unreal his smooth skin is under your fingers, maybe it wasn’t a bad thought to trust Luffy with something like this?
Too caught up in the moment you cock your head to the side and kiss him, a small whimper of shock and a grip of your arms was all Luffy could respond to the sudden touch.
“You um….did you like it?”
The blush on his face told you enough, for once Luffy didn’t have a remark, so to close the gap he grabbed your cheeks this to kiss you again.
As uncoordinated as he was his lips were so sweet from the candy he ate earlier and soft, his lower lip was fatter than his upper and he wasn’t shy to steal a few licks inside your mouth. You felt some slavia seep through the corner of your lips, and the longer you allowed him to kiss you the messier he became now crawling atop of you.
“Lu…” You moan out parting from his now swollen lips, “Are we ganna do this now?”
“Yeah.” He quickly nods , hoping you won’t decline him, he already had a taste and now he wants—-NEEDS the real thing. “I want it, Y/n.”
“Te quiero.”
“What?” You peer your eyes up at him, not sure what exactly he meant so he bends lower to touch noses with you.
“I want you.”

WordCount: 5.6K
Sanji x Reader, Sanji x Y/N, One piece X Reader.
Law POV…
I dodged Doflamingo’s attacks, weaving through the barrage of deadly strings that cut through the air with terrifying precision. “Just a little more!” I thought, my breath ragged as I narrowly avoided another sharp strike. But in an instant, the strings closed in on me, wrapping around my limbs and slamming me against a tree with brutal force. My sword clattered to the ground, and my body strained against the pressure, the sharp wires biting into my skin.
Doflamingo loomed closer, a twisted grin on his face. “Why don’t you just hand over Caesar’s heart?” he sneered.
I smirked, despite the pain. “Is it really Caesar you want?” I asked, my voice dripping with mockery. “Or are you just scared Kaido’s going to kill you when you can’t produce SMILEs anymore?”
Doflamingo’s grin faltered, replaced by a flash of anger. The strings tightened around me, squeezing the breath from my lungs. He unleashed another wave of razor-sharp threads, aimed right at me.
“Room! Shambles!” I called out, swapping places just in time to evade the attack. My heart pounded as I landed a few feet away. “2.5 seconds… and I would’ve been sliced to bits,” I thought, my body aching from the narrow escape.
I tried to retreat, to get some distance between us, but Doflamingo’s strings lashed out once more, catching my leg and yanking me back. In a flash, he was on top of me, his knee pressing into my chest, pinning me to the ground. My vision blurred, the weight of his strength crushing me.
“You’re mine now,” Doflamingo hissed, his voice low and menacing. His fingers curled, ready to finish me off.
But then, the weight shifted, and I felt the sudden presence of another force. A sword—heavy and deliberate—pressed down, not from Doflamingo, but from above.
“Fujitora… why did you save him!?” Doflamingo snarled, his voice filled with fury.
The gravity around me intensified, pushing me deeper into the ground, every bone in my body screaming under the strain. “Ahhh!” I groaned, unable to move.
“I have my orders,” Fujitora said calmly, standing above me, his sword still raised. “I didn’t come here to kill him. My objective is to apprehend him.”
The crushing force kept me immobilized, my breaths shallow and labored. I felt my heart pound in my chest, but even that felt distant, muffled under the pressure.
Doflamingo’s cold laughter filled the air. “Now, about Caesar’s heart…” he said with a sinister smile, reaching down and snatching the small, fragile organ from my side.
Sanji POV…
I stood with Kinemon, watching the commotion at the Coliseum unfold. My mind raced, trying to figure out how we could sneak in and warn Luffy before things spiraled even further out of control. I gritted my teeth, frustration building. There’s no easy way in with all these Marines crawling around.
Just then, I heard a familiar voice that grated on my nerves instantly.
“Hey! What the hell are you guys doing here?” came the all-too-recognizable tone of Mosshead.
“What… that’s—” Kinemon shouted in surprise. “It’s Sir Zoro! Hey, over here!”
“Subtlety, Kinemon!” I groaned, delivering a swift kick to his side to shut him up. "Do you want the Marines to find us?"
Zoro approached us from the shadows of the alley, his usual look of nonchalance plastered on his face. As much as I hated to admit it, I was relieved to see him. But there was something more pressing. Desperation clawed at my insides as I stepped closer to him.
“Zoro, have you seen Y/N by any chance?!” I asked, my voice laced with urgency. Every second without word from her was twisting my gut into tighter knots.
Zoro furrowed his brow and scratched his head. “No, actually I haven’t. But I did hear someone telling me to wait a couple minutes ago.”
I froze for a second, the words hanging in the air. Then, without thinking, I lunged toward him. “YOU IDIOT! That was her!” I yelled, grabbing him by the collar. “She’s in even more danger now, and you couldn’t even stop for two seconds to check?!”
Zoro glared, shoving me back. “How was I supposed to know it was her, dart-brow? I’m not some psychic who can read minds. Besides, I was busy trying to figure out where you wandered off to!”
“Oh yeah? Well maybe if you actually had a sense of direction for once in your life, we wouldn’t be having this conversation!” I shot back, my irritation with him rising as it always did.
Zoro’s eye twitched. “You wanna go, love-cook? 'Cause I’ve got time to deal with you!”
“Deal with me? You can’t even deal with finding your way down a straight road!” I snapped, our bickering escalating by the second.
Kinemon sighed in the background, shaking his head at our usual back-and-forth. “Perhaps now is not the time for this—”
Zoro cut him off. “Look, I’m not here to fight you. I’m heading back to the Sunny. It’s under attack by one of Doflamingo’s executives.”
My heart dropped, and my annoyance with Zoro quickly shifted to concern. “What? Damn it! I knew something wasn’t right! Nami and the others are in trouble!” I clenched my fists, turning towards Zoro. “Alright, I’m coming with you!”
Just as I was about to take off, Kinemon stepped in front of me. “Wait, Sir Sanji! We have vital information that we must bestow upon Sir Luffy! We cannot abandon our mission.”
Before I could respond, a familiar voice echoed from the shadows. “There you are.”
I whirled around, and my heart skipped a beat. “Violet, my sweet!” I exclaimed, practically floating over to her. I swooped in and grabbed her hands, swooning as I gazed into her eyes.
“Sanji, this isn’t—” Violet began, but I was too far gone.
“This is fate, destiny bringing us together again in this moment of chaos!” I declared, still holding her hands like we were in some romantic drama.
Zoro groaned, glaring at me. “That kind of crap is going to get you killed, idiot. Snap out of it!” he growled, but I waved him off, completely ignoring his rant.
“Zoro, you wouldn’t understand the complexities of love,” I said, still fixated on Violet’s eyes. “In a world as chaotic as ours, love is a shining beacon of hope and—”
“Shut up, dart-brow!” Zoro barked, his patience wearing thin. “We don’t have time for your romantic delusions! The Sunny’s under attack!”
But I paid him no mind, too engrossed in Violet’s presence. Just as I was about to pull her into a dramatic embrace, Zoro muttered something that snapped me out of it.
“Well, I guess that favor Y/N owes me is finally getting cashed in tonight,” Zoro said with a smirk. “Since you’re not lovesick for her anymore, that’s one less competition I have to deal with.”
I froze mid-swoon, releasing Violet’s hands and spinning on my heel to face Zoro, my eyes blazing with fury. “What did you just say?!”
Zoro’s smirk widened. “You heard me. Now that you’re all wrapped up in your latest fling, maybe I’ll finally have some peace without you hovering over Y/N like some lost puppy.”
My temper flared. “As if Y/N would ever fall for someone like you, you brainless swordsman! She has taste and refinement, something you severely lack!”
Zoro’s smirk turned into a full grin. “Oh yeah? Then why is she always hanging around me, huh? Maybe she prefers a real man who doesn’t get distracted by every pretty face that walks by.”
I clenched my fists, my face turning red with anger. “She does not! Y/N deserves someone with class and elegance, not some brute who can’t even find his way to the nearest tavern!”
Zoro crossed his arms, clearly enjoying how riled up I was getting. “Keep telling yourself that, love-cook. But when she realizes you’re too busy swooning over every girl in Dressrosa, don’t come crying to me.”
“Why you—” I lunged at him, ready to knock that stupid grin off his face.
Before I could get any closer, Violet’s voice cut through the tension like a blade. “Listen, Black Leg!” she said sharply, stepping between us. “Your ship has been hijacked by my colleague Giolla, and they’re making their way to Greenbit right now.” She looked at me with a mix of urgency and empathy. “If you don’t act fast, you might lose everything you’ve been fighting for.”
Laws POV…
Doflamingo’s laughter echoed through the forest as Fujitora’s gravity technique kept me pinned to the ground, each second more suffocating than the last. I could barely move, my breathing labored and strained.
Doflamingo’s mocking voice cut through the haze of pain. “You know, Law, all this time you’ve been fighting against something far greater than you realize.”
I forced myself to focus despite the crushing weight. “What are you talking about?” I managed to croak out.
Doflamingo’s grin widened. “The World Government, Law. The 20 kingdoms that formed the foundation of this world, the Celestial Dragons—those who hold absolute power. The agreements made to keep this twisted system in place. It’s all part of the grand design.”
I struggled to piece together his words through the pain. “All this time you were a...” I began, my voice labored.
Doflamingo’s laughter grew louder as he continued to toy with Caesar’s heart, dropping it and catching it with cruel precision
Sanji POV…
I stood at the crossroads of my decisions, torn between rescuing Nami and continuing my search for Y/N. The weight of my choices was heavy, but the thought of Y/N still missing gnawed at me. "Y/N, where are you, my sweet?" I muttered under my breath.
Flashback to 10 minutes earlier…
“Listen, mosshead, butt out of this decision!” I snapped at Zoro. “I’m looking for Y/N and also saving Nami and the others, got it?”
Zoro crossed his arms, glaring at me. “Idiot! How the hell are you going to be in two places at once? You can’t just split yourself in half!”
“Listen, I’ll head to the Colosseum, tell Luffy what’s going on, and then I’ll be the one in search of Y/N, got it?” Zoro shot back, his frustration evident.
“Alright, alright!” I relented, rubbing my temples in frustration. “I’ll go rescue Nami, and you find Y/N. Deal?”
Zoro nodded, a hint of relief on his face. “Deal. Just make sure you don’t get yourself killed while you’re at it.”
“Same to you,” I shot back, a smirk on my face despite the tension. “Don’t mess up and make me come rescue you too.”
End of flashback..
Here I was, riding the toy stallion with Violet. It still pained me to make the decision to split up, but if Y/N was anywhere close by, Zoro and Kinemon would be the first to find you. I tried to focus on the task at hand, though my heart ached with worry.
“Now, Violet, I told you to wait at the harbor, you naughty girl,” I said, fawning.
“I would, but the place is covered with Marines,” Violet replied, as we sped through the streets. “You and your friends may want to rethink your rendezvous point. I counted four battleships total, which means there are about 3,000 Marines scattered around.”
“And you managed to find that out in such a short amount of time?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“It’s one of my abilities,” Violet said with a laugh. “Clairvoyance.”
“Clairvoyance, huh? That’s impressive,” I said, trying to keep the worry out of my voice. Violet assured me not to worry about her safety, but then she suddenly tensed, her gaze distant.
“I should be able to see your ship, but it’s simply not there,” Violet said, her tone turning serious.
“Wait, like it disappeared?” I asked, my heart sinking.
“It’s bad. It seems your ship emerged by now… where? And your ship was struck by lightning!” Violet said, her concern evident.
“Struck by lightning? Then Nami must be safe!” I said, relief washing over me as I made my way toward where the ship should be.
Law POV…
Doflamingo continued to taunt as Fujitora’s gravity powers kept me pinned to the ground. Each breath was labored, and the crushing weight felt like it was suffocating me.
“Damn that power,” I thought. “I’m completely immobilized.”
“There’s no way you’re a Celestial Dragon!” I managed to heave out, my voice strained.
“That’s me, well, that was me at least,” Doflamingo sneered. “But not anymore. Not many can say they’ve lived a checkered life as I have.” His taunts were infuriating, each word dripping with arrogance.
“Who cares, stop rambling, bastard!” I gasped, trying to push through the crushing weight.
“Sorry, Law,” Doflamingo said with a mocking tone. “Believe me, I would like nothing more than to knock back a few drinks and tell you all about my life story. But I don’t have time for all that. The Straw Hats are in Dressrosa, and I need to address that. And while I’m at it, I need to get my hands on that princess. It makes me most excited thinking about it.”
His words stung, and I could barely keep my eyes open as the pain intensified. The thought of you and the others in danger fueled my resolve. I had to find a way out of this, no matter what.
Fujitora’s head tilted slightly, his attention shifting. “I heard a thunderclap. I may be blind, but I’ve always had a keen sense for weather,” he remarked, his voice calm but focused.
From the bushes, Caesar emerged, desperate and frantic. “Joker! What are you doing?! Give me my heart back! I want it back now!” he whined, his usual panic setting in.
Doflamingo glanced at the heart in his hand, an amused grin spreading across his face. I struggled under the weight of Fujitora’s gravity power, each breath coming harder than the last.
“No good… I never said whose heart it was,” I managed to say between gasps of air. The words caught Doflamingo’s attention, and his grin widened.
Without a second thought, he crushed the heart, testing my claim. Caesar let out a dramatic wail, collapsing to the ground as if the very life had been squeezed out of him. But when nothing serious happened, and the realization struck that the heart didn’t belong to Caesar after all, Doflamingo’s amusement vanished. It was a marine soldier’s heart.
Taking the moment of confusion, I made my move. “Room!” I summoned my ability, the familiar blue dome surrounding us. “Shambles!” In an instant, I swapped myself out with a log, grabbing Caesar by the scruff and making a run for it.
“Joker, help me!!” Caesar shrieked, flailing in my grasp as we made our escape.
“You’ve got a lot of energy left, Law,” Doflamingo called out, already chasing us down with terrifying speed. Each time he attacked, I would switch the trajectory with an object, barely staying ahead of him.
We were heading toward the bridge, the path narrowing with every step. In the distance, I heard the panicked cries of the Straw Hat crew.
“Idiots! Keep your mouths shut!” I barked at them, knowing their noise would only draw more attention.
“So that’s your plan,” Doflamingo cackled, his eyes locked on the Thousand Sunny. “You think you can escape me by hiding behind your little pirate friends?”
“Doflamingo, wait! This doesn’t involve them!” I shouted, desperation creeping into my voice.
“Too late, Law!” Doflamingo’s laughter echoed through the air as he closed in. “Besides, I’m here to collect what’s mine.” His gaze fixed on the Sunny, and I could feel the threat looming over them.
I gritted my teeth. I had to stop him, no matter the cost.
Sanji POV…
"Hey! You made my crewmates cry! You're going down!" I yelled as I launched myself into the sky with my Skywalk, my leg igniting with Diable Jambe. I aimed straight for Doflamingo, landing a burning kick right to his side.
"Sanji's here!" I heard Nami, Chopper, Brook, and Momo shout in relief. But Doflamingo simply laughed.
"This should be fun," he said with a wicked grin, his eyes gleaming with malice. "So, you're with the Straw Hats… Black Leg Sanji."
He moved so fast, I barely saw it coming. "Penta-Chromatic Strings!" Doflamingo shouted, and I felt the sharp pain as his strings sliced into me, knocking me out of the air.
"Sanji's hit!" Brook cried. "How? I didn’t even see him move!" Chopper added, panic in his voice.
I grunted in pain as I was falling from the sky clutching my side. "You don't have the strength to protect anyone," Doflamingo mocked, his laughter cutting through the pain. "Sanji!" Nami yelled, her voice filled with worry.
Gritting my teeth, I pushed myself up, forcing the pain away. "Don't you dare turn your back on me… or my Diable Jambe!" I snarled, my left leg igniting in flames once again. "Poele a Friere: Spectre!" I unleashed a barrage of fiery kicks at Doflamingo.
"Let's go, Sanji!" Nami cheered. "Kick his butt!" Chopper added.
But then, I felt it—the sudden stop, my body freezing mid-attack. "What… I can't move! What the hell is wrong with me?!" My limbs wouldn't respond, as if they were bound by invisible chains.
Doflamingo laughed again, his voice filled with sadistic pleasure. "You’re no match for me, Black Leg."
I could see the crew in the distance, watching, their faces filled with fear. "What the hell are you guys waiting around for?! Use the Coup de Burst and get out of here!" I yelled, desperate for them to escape.
"We're not leaving you!" Nami shouted back, defiant.
But Doflamingo wasn't done. A flaming whip formed in his hand. "Overheat!" he called, launching the attack at me. I braced myself, but my body wouldn't respond.
"Shambles!" A voice from my left—Law. In an instant, I was teleported away from the strike, landing safely back on the ship with everyone else.
"There's been a slight change of plans. To the ship!" Law ordered, already assessing the situation. My left arm throbbed with pain, but I clutched it, trying to hide it from Chopper’s worried gaze.
"Sanji!" Nami shouted, running toward me.
"Oh… hey, Nami," I said, forcing a grin, but the pain and exhaustion were starting to catch up.
"Doflamingo is heading back!" Chopper cried out, his panic rising again.
"Great," I muttered under my breath, trying to regain my focus. Then Law turned to me, his voice low and urgent. "Sanji… what about the factory?"
"We found out where it is, but Franky says it's going to be tougher to infiltrate than we thought," I replied, my tone serious.
"And… Y/N?" Law's voice was barely above a whisper, but the weight of his words hit hard.
I looked down at the deck, my chest tightening. "No, I couldn’t find her… Zoro's looking for her now." My voice cracked, and I hated myself for it.
"Wait, Sanji… what do you mean find Y/N?" Chopper asked, his concern growing. I could see the worry in their eyes.
"I lost her," I confessed, my voice strained. "I’ve searched everywhere, but she’s nowhere in Dressrosa. I don’t know where she is…"
"Hmph, the young princess is missing, huh?" Caesar chimed in, a smug grin on his face. "Maybe Doflamingo’s men already captured her."
I clenched my fist, anger boiling in my veins. "If they’ve touched her…" But I didn’t finish the sentence. There was no time for that now. I had to believe Zoro would find her. I had to believe she was still safe.
"We still need more time!" Law said, clutching something in his hand—a heart.
"Is that… my heart?!" Caesar wailed in panic.
"I'm afraid this is mine," Law responded coldly. "Yours? I've had that hidden this whole time." He held Caesar's heart firmly, showing no signs of letting it go.
"Listen, you guys need to head to Zou," Law continued, his tone sharp. "There are only two tasks left—destroy the factory and find out where Y/N is."
"Wait a minute!" Nami interrupted, her voice full of fire. "Hold on! We’re not going anywhere yet! If you think we’re going to set sail without our captain, you're nuts! We take orders from Luffy, NOT you!" she declared, standing her ground.
Just then, a massive explosion rocked the ship as we were hit with a cannonball from a nearby Navy ship. "Not good," I muttered, glancing at the damage. Things were escalating fast.
"Hold up, Law," I said, turning to him. "I realize we need to get out of here now and keep Caesar safe, but the operation with Caesar was just a waypoint. Our shared goal was to take down Kaido, wasn’t it? Why are you getting so hung up on Doflamingo?"
Law’s face darkened, but before he could answer, Nami shouted, "Time to go! Everyone ready?"
"Listen, Nami, you need to get to a clear sky!" Law called out. "Doflamingo possesses the String-String Fruit. He uses the clouds to get around."
"That explains it!" I said, realizing how Doflamingo had been moving so quickly.
Law then placed his blade against Giolla’s throat, using her as leverage. "One wrong move from Doflamingo, and she’s done," he warned, eyes cold.
With no other option, and knowing the clock was ticking, we initiated the Coup de Burst. The Sunny rocketed away from Greenbit, leaving the chaos behind us for now.
Zoro POV…
We made it to the Coliseum, but there was still no sign of Y/N. Frustration bubbled up as I muttered, "Damn it, Y/N, where the hell did you go?"
"Do you have any ideas on how to get in? It’s all locked up," Kinemon asked, his voice low but urgent.
"No, but I could slash the bars down," I replied without thinking.
"We're trying to avoid exposure!" Kinemon snapped, clearly annoyed.
"Okay, so I can slash it quietly?" I offered with a smirk.
"That’s no help at all!" Kinemon shot back, his patience wearing thin.
Just then, we spotted someone passing by the bars of the Coliseum. "Hey! You!" I yelled, trying to get his attention. The guy froze, looking like a deer in headlights, then started freaking out.
"Hey, don’t leave yet! There’s something important I need to ask you!" I called out, but he just continued freaking out and cheering wildly.
"You sure this is a Coliseum and not a mental institution?" Kinemon muttered.
I rolled my eyes. "Hey! I’m talking to you! Second floor, over here!" I kept shouting.
"Tears of joy shall flow to the end of time!" the guy screamed, completely ignoring me.
"Look, I don’t know who you are, but is there a way into the Coliseum? All the entrances I’ve found are closed up!" I shouted again, growing more irritated.
"I’m so glad I became a pirate! I can die happy!" the guy yelled, tears streaming down his face.
"What the..." I muttered, trying to process the madness.
Kinemon sighed. "Wait a moment, he said he knows Sir Luffy?" he asked, clearly confused. "How could he tell with our brilliant disguises?"
"Yeah, I know..." I muttered, wondering the same thing.
Just then, my transponder snail rang. I grabbed it quickly. "Hello?!" I barked.
"Now, Roronoa, there's no need to yell," came the familiar voice, making my heart stop.
"Where the hell are you, Y/N?! We've been looking for you!" I yelled into the transponder.
"Me?! I was yelling for you to wait!" she snapped back, clearly annoyed.
"Listen, that’s not the point," Y/N continued. "Doflamingo's men have been chasing me block after block. I had to change out of my disguise. Doflamingo has something planned for me, along with all of us and the rest of Dressrosa. That’s why I can't be anywhere near you guys yet."
"Where are you?!" I demanded, clenching my fists.
"Don't worry, I'm safe for now. I'll call again in a few minutes, Zoro. Please stay safe," she said, her tone softening at the end.
"Wait, don’t—!" I started, but the call ended.
I stared at the transponder snail, frustration building. "At least we know she's safe, Sir Zoro," Kinemon said, trying to ease the tension.
"Yeah, but we still need to find her. She could say she's safe, but that doesn't mean she's out of danger," I replied, my mind racing. "We need to talk to Luffy, tell him everything, and figure out where Y/N is before it's too late."
Y/N POV…
"You got in contact with your crew?" Sabo asked as I handed back the transponder snail.
"Yeah, I reached Zoro," I replied, wiping my brow. "Told him I'd call back in a few minutes to explain the plan I have. Too bad that thug passed out from fear though... but we've still got two more left to make the call to Doflamingo." I smirked, glancing at the remaining thugs.
"And what's your plan?" Sabo asked, stepping closer with a curious yet cautious look in his eyes.
"Simple," I said, crossing my arms confidently. "We get one of these fools to call Doflamingo and tell him they’ve caught me. Lure him to the front of the Coliseum, kick his ass, make him chase me, let him think he's cornered me—only to have me lead him straight to the palace where we shut the whole operation down." I grinned, like I'd just outlined the most brilliant plan in the world.
Sabo stared at me, clearly skeptical. "Listen, Y/N, I'm all for kicking ass and taking down Doflamingo... but I don’t want anything to happen to you," he said, his voice growing serious as he placed his hands gently on my hips. "I just got you back, and I'm not about to risk losing you again."
His voice cracked, and I felt the weight of his words as tears began to fall from his eyes onto my chest. He was trembling, and I could feel the grief beneath his tough exterior.
"I already lost one brother... I can’t..." he said, choking on his tears.
The depth of his pain hit me hard. I stared at him in shock.
"You were Ace's brother?" I asked, the shock of the revelation settling in.
Sabo nodded, his hands still holding me tightly. "And since you're Luffy's brother... that means you lost Ace too," I whispered, the weight of it all hitting me.
Sabo’s expression darkened, his eyes filled with guilt and sorrow. "When I found out... I lost it," he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. "I crashed. I... should have been there for him. I should have been there for Luffy."
"When did you find out?" I asked gently, placing a hand on his cheek and wiping away his tears.
"The day you were knocked out by King, and he caught us," Sabo replied, his body trembling. "When John and I went to treat your injuries, I went to an office and… saw the newspaper."
"Sabo..." I whispered, my heart aching for him.
"I should have been there... I should have been by his side. Luffy needed me, Ace needed me, and I wasn’t there for either of them." His voice cracked again, the pain of regret clear in every word.
I pulled him closer, feeling his pain radiating through me. "You can't blame yourself... you didn’t know," I whispered softly. "And now, you're here. You’re fighting for Luffy, and for everything Ace stood for."
Tears continued to stream down his face as he rested his forehead against mine. "I can’t lose anyone else, Y/N. Not you, not Luffy," he said, his voice barely a whisper.
I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him close, letting him feel the safety of the embrace. "You’ve been through so much, Sabo. And even with all that, you were there for me."
He pulled back slightly, his eyes full of emotion. “But that's the thing, Y/N," he said, his voice rough with raw emotion. "You’re not just another person I’m protecting. You’re a part of my world. I’ve lost so much, I can’t... I won’t lose you too."
He exhaled deeply, his grip on my shoulders tightening as if grounding himself. “That’s why I have to go to that Colosseum," he said, determination flaring in his eyes. "To win the Flame-Flame Fruit. So I can carry Ace’s legacy and protect those who are important to me. If I have that power... I can make sure no one I care about gets hurt again."
I was about to respond when I heard groaning from one of the thugs. Giving Sabo a knowing look, I released the hug and made my way toward him. "Good morning there," I smirked. "Now, are you going to pass out like your buddy here, or are you going to follow directions?"
The man nodded frantically. "Good," I smirked, grabbing his transponder snail. "Now make the call."
We waited until Doflamingo picked up. His voice oozed malice. "Hello. This better be important, as I am dealing with an important matter."
"Sir, we got her... We got the girl, young master!" the thug said.
Doflamingo laughed. "I knew she couldn’t run forever. Now tell me, is she tied up nice and snug?"
It took everything in me not to snap back. "Yeah, she is. She’s tied up. Meet us at the Colosseum at the front, so you can take her."
"Splendid work you did. I’ll see you soon," Doflamingo said before ending the call.
I clenched my right hand, crouching in front of the thug. "Good job!" I said, landing a punch to his cheek and sending him flying into the wall. "Now what?" Sabo asked.
"Now, I call Zoro again." I grabbed Sabo's transponder snail and dialed Zoro. "Hello?! Y/N?!" Zoro's voice came through urgently.
"Y/N?! Where have you been?!" Luffy's voice followed, almost grinning through the call.
"Hey, captain. How’s it going? I was checking on your fight. I wish I was there to kick some ass too!" I said.
"Same here, Y/N," Zoro said.
"Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is I’m safe, but Doflamingo has had me tracked since I got here. He’s even got three men chasing me block after block," I explained.
"Where are you?!" Luffy demanded.
"Don’t worry, Luffy. I’m safe. I’m with... someone very special," I whispered that last part, hoping he wouldn’t pry. "I have a plan, but I want to ask your permission first."
"What is it?" Luffy asked.
"I’m going to have to get Doflamingo to take me to his palace," I said.
"WAIT, AS IN KIDNAPPED?!" Zoro’s voice cracked with disbelief.
"Yes, as in kidnapped. I need to get him away from the Colosseum and into the palace where I can hopefully shut things down. There’s more to the plan, but I can’t say much right now. I’ll see you guys in the palace."
Zoro's frustration was palpable. "This is a terrible idea! We can't just let you get captured!"
"I know it sounds risky, Zoro, but it's the only way to draw Doflamingo out and get him where we need him. If I stay hidden, he’ll just keep searching for me. This way, I can use the opportunity to get to the palace and stop him from causing more chaos," I tried to reason.
“This is insane!” Zoro snapped. “You’re not just walking into a trap—you’re running into it! How many things can go wrong here, Y/N? Do we need to pull out the list? You’re going up against a warlord who is psychotic, you could get thrown in a dungeon, or worse! And we won’t even know where you are!”
“I know the risks, Zoro. But it’s the only way to distract him long enough for us to make our move.” I said
Luffy, who had been quiet up until now, suddenly chimed in. “Y/N, this is risky, even for you...”
“I know,” she answered, her voice steady. “But I can do this. If I can get him off the streets and into the palace, it’ll give us the upper hand. You just need to trust me.”
“Trust you?” I scoffed, rubbing the back of my neck in frustration. “I trust you, but this plan is reckless even by your standards! Do you even know what you're up against?”
“Zoro, I’ll be fine. Just make sure you guys get to the palace. I’ll be waiting.” I laughed as I continued speaking to Zoro over the transponder snail.
"Trust me, Zoro. I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t think it was the best option. I need to be where I can make the most impact, and right now, that’s in the palace. The plan is risky, but it's our best shot at stopping Doflamingo and getting back to safety."
Luffy cut in before Zoro could respond further. "Okay, Y/N, but I need you to be careful. We’ll be there just as soon as I figure out a way out of this Colosseum!"
“I’ll be fine,” I said, my voice lighter now, trying to ease the tension. “I trust you guys to back me up.”
Zoro is not fully convinced. “This is still a terrible idea... If anything happens to you, I’m coming to drag your reckless ass out of there myself.”
I laughed trying to ease the tension. “I know you will, Zoro. But you won’t have to. Just be ready when it’s time.”
I ended the call and turned back to Sabo. “Okay, that’s phase one of the plan. Phase two will be when Luffy gets to the palace. You need to get to the Colosseum,” I said, giving his arm a playful shove.
Sabo’s eyes lit up with a roguish smile. “You know, a bit of encouragement would go a long way. How about a good luck kiss?”
I raised an eyebrow, trying to suppress a smile. “Focus on the plan, Sabo. We got things to do.”
He leaned in closer, his smile widening. “Oh, come on. Just one kiss for luck?”
I laughed softly, shaking my head. “You’re incorrigible. Just make sure you don’t get yourself into trouble. I’ll be waiting for you.”
Sabo gave me a lingering look before nodding. “You’ve got it. I’ll be careful. But don’t think I’m letting you off the hook for that kiss.”
I watched him go, a mixture of worry and affection in my heart.
I continued to run, my feet pounding against the cobblestones as the towering walls of the Colosseum loomed in the distance. The sound of distant battles and the chaotic energy of Dressrosa filled the air, but I focused only on reaching my destination.
Finally, I arrived, stopping just outside the Colosseum. I caught my breath, glancing around to make sure I wasn’t being followed. "Alright," I muttered to myself, scanning the area. "Now, I wait."
From my vantage point, I could see Zoro and Kin’emon standing near the entrance, talking to Luffy, who was behind the bars. Their conversation seemed tense, as Luffy’s impatience was written all over his face. I narrowed my eyes, watching carefully, making sure no one else had eyes on them.
This was it—the moment before everything would change. I just hoped I could intervene at the right time

“I’m boooooooooored!” Luffy whined, hanging upside down on the bow of the ship. “Someone come play a game with me.”
“Busy,” the long-nosed pirate murmured, tinkering with some kind of device.
“But Usoooooooopp!” The captain moaned in agony.
How was he supposed to survive in these conditions? God gives his toughest battles to his silliest soldiers…
A glint of joy sparkled in his eye in a moment’s notice. “Hey! Wanna have a tickle fight?!”
The gunner visibly tensed, clamping his arms down to his sides. “No way! I’m- I’m working on something!”
“But you’re so fun to play games with! And I have to know if you’re ticklish!!”
Growing more flustered and frustrated, Usopp barked out an absentminded response. “Come over and make me then!”
“Hehe, okay,” Luffy replied with a Cheshire grin. He stretched his arm out to grab the pole next to his crewmate, letting his body cling to said position.
A small squeak left the gunner as his eyes widened. “Uh… h-hi.”
“Hi!” The stretchy boy cooed, “betcha’ forgot I could do that, huh?”
Usopp did not like the menacing look that was glinting in his captain’s eyes. He shifted apprehensively as he slowly tried to step back. He looked for an exit, eyes darting drastically around the ship. He locked onto Sanji serving some kind of snack to Zoro and Nami, opting to break into a full sprint toward the three.
“SAVE MEEEE! SAAAAAVE MEEEE!!!!!”
Six concerned eyes snapped to the frantic Usopp, who was running from a sadistically smiling Luffy. The three relaxed, realizing that Usopp wasn’t actually in any real danger.
“Well, what did you do to piss him off?” Zoro asked as the curly-haired male jumped onto him. “H-Hey! What are you-“ Instinctively, his arms closed securely around his shipmate.
“Zoroooo, he’s gonna kill me!” Usopp cried, drastically hugging the burly man holding him.
“NUH UH!” The captain called after them, making his way over, “I told you, I just wanted to have a tickle fight!”
“And I said I was- HYEAH!”
The long-nosed pirate was cut off by sudden, repeated pinches to his hips, jumping a bit in the swordsman’s tight hold. “H-Hey- EEP! S-Stahap Zoro!”
“What? I’m not doin’ nothin’… Jeez…”
“B-Buhut you a-ahare!”
“Hey! No fair! I was supposed to tickle him!!” Luffy whined, pouting with his arms crossed.
“Oh yeah? Well-“ Zoro hooked his arms under the gunner’s biceps, causing the latter to kick his feet in defense. “Go for it, Captain.”
That glint of joy and menace found its way back, with Luffy settling in front of his shipmates and reaching up to wiggle his fingers at their gunner.
“Waitwaitwaitwait! Can’t we talk about this?!?! I’m sure we can make some kind of ar-ahahahangemehehent! Nohohoho!”
The captain giggled along with Usopp as he spidered his fingers along the long-nosed pirate’s sides.
“Luhuhuffyhyhy! Zohohohoro! Stahahap!”
“Stop? Already? But this is supposed to be a tickle fight!” Luffy cooed, squishing the soft torso of their gunner.
“Yohohou’rehehe uhuhunfahahair! Luhuhuhuffyhyhy!”
“Unfair?! You can get me back anytime you want; I’ll even tell you that I’m most ticklish on my ribs! Hey… speaking of which…”
Usopp’s eyes shot open as he felt Luffy’s fingers worm up onto his ribcage. He kicked his feet drastically, accidentally slamming his ankle down on his captain’s shoulder. “LUHUHUFFYHYHY! HYEAHAHAHAHA!”
“Yeowch… No need to get so violent with him, Usopp.” Zoro quipped, clamping his own arms to his sides and trapping the latter’s there. He spidered his fingers under both of the gunner’s arms, cracking an evil smile.
“NGHAHAHAHA! GUHUHUHUYS!” The curly-haired pirate squealed as he threw his head back onto Zoro’s shoulder.
“This tickle fight seems pretty one-sided to me,” Nami quipped, casually chewing on a piece of cheese.
“Just glad it isn’t me,” Sanji retorted quickly, shifting a bit.
The two locked eyes… oh shit.
“MEHEHEHRCYHYHY!! I CAHAHAHANT TAHAHAKE IHIHIHIT! TOO MUHUHUHUCH!!” Usopp cried, head unmoving from Zoro’s shoulder.
Zoro ceased his attack, freeing the long-nosed pirate’s arms.
“LUHUHUHUFFYHYHY PLEHEHEHEASE! M’GOHOHONNA DIHIHIHIE!”
“Hey, enough kid.” Zoro scooped up the winded Usopp, whisking him away to safety.
“Oh man! I didn’t know that you were so ticklish, Usopp! That was fun!”
“F-for YOU! I thought I was gonna die you motherf-“
Sanji whizzed past the three of them, Nami hot on their heels. “NAMI NO- WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS!”
“You’d think with such long legs that you’d be able to outrun me, Sanji!” The orange-haired girl chimed as she tackled the chef, her fingers finding refuge squeezing at the blonde’s thighs.
“Heh, get his ass Nami!” Zoro called, still absentmindedly cradling Usopp in a safe embrace.

The locals were throwing them a feast in thanks for saving the village. With music and booze and meat - what more could they ask for?
The chief even brought out a local speciality.
"This drink," he explained, "will compell you to go to your friends and tell them something honest." He went on to explain that though it might not be something you would normally say out loud, it very rarely led to hurt feeling on either side - it did of course happen ocasionally, but the drink was made specifically to celebrate and help strengthen bonds.
When offered the chance to try it, no one was surprised that Luffy took the opportunity. Their cook was next, having caught a wiff of it Sanji insisted he needed to learn the flavour profile. Franky was the third and final volunteer, claiming that honesty was SUPER.
The stawhats kept a close eye on their captain as he bounced around chatting with everyone in his vicinity, though it was hard to tell if the drink had taken effect yet, or if Luffy was simply being Luffy.
"Nami-swan!" Sanji called running eagerly up to the red head, with a bright smile on his face.
She greeted him in turn with a polite smile, allowing him to take one of her hands gently in his own
"Nami-swan, you are such a strong, amazing person and I am so glad that we met. I am so happy that we are friends!"
Namis eyes widdened as a blush spread across her cheeks. "Oh!" That wasnt what she had expected him to say at all. Now she found herself stumbling over how to respond.
"I see the elixer has begun to work, cook-san" Robin cut in with a soft smile.
"Robin-chwan!" He cheered taking her hand in his free one. "You are so brilliant and wonderful. Im always excited for you when we find ruins for you to study, or a poneglyph for you to read. I love seeing you happy!"
It was Robins turn to be left speachless. She knew the strawhats were okay with humouring her passion, but it still caught her off guard that they were people, that there could be people, who genuinely cared about her happiness.
Movement off to the side caught Sanjis attention and he took off as quickly as he had appeared.
"Usopp!" He cried, wrapping the man in a hug.
"Oof. Okay okay, you can let go-"
"I know how brave you are Usopp! I see it every time you do what you need to despite being scared! But i will still always do my best to protect you whenever I can!"
Usopps eyes watered for a moment before he threw his arms around the chef. "Sanji!!"
Zoro doesnt know what draws the blondes attention his way, hell maybe its just another special property of the drink, makes you zero in on the people you know one by one. He sort of wishes he hadnt been noticed though.
"Zoro!" He tried not to squirm or duck away as he was approached.
He didnt need the cook rushing over to - what? Tell Zoro that theyre friends? He knows theyre friends, its not something either of them should have to say out loud. Thats not what they do.
Or worse, the curly-browed idiot could decided to say something like 'you're strong', or 'you're a good fighter', or 'I respect you'.
That would just be uncomfortable for both of them. And the cook would probably regret it in the morning.
And just how would Zoro be able to respond to that? Zoro sure as hell cant respond in kind to that sort of comment. Hes not the one who drank a truth potion after all.
He could pick a fight of course, make fun of the blonde for coming over and smiling and talking with complete sincerety. Laugh at him for willingly taking the drink and spilling out his feelings everywhere.
"Oi! Zoro!" The cook was grinning at him in a way he never did, or at least he was until he tripped on something on the path and a look of concentration replaced the smile as the man focused on staying upright while stumbling the last few feet forward. This had Zoro fighting off a smile of his own. The staggering blonde was a stupid, and maybe slightly endearing, sight.
Sanji caught himself with one hand planted on Zoros chest, staring down at it in complete fascination.
"I think about kissing you all the time."
What.
Zoros breath caught.
"I would really like to suck your cock." Sanji continued, licking his lips, "Maybe tie you up first if you'd let me."
What?!
The blondes eyes slowly traced up from his hand on Zoros chest to meet his eyes. When he did, whatever he saw there, he seemed to realize exactly what he had just said.
Zoro watched as his mouth opened and closed several times, a dark blush racing across the mans face.
Finally Sanji snatched his hand away and turned on his heel before running back the way he came. Zoro almost chased after until he saw the blondes path change so he could scoop Chopper up in his arms.
The bright smile was back on his face, the blush fading. Whatever he was saying to Chopper had the reindeer wiggling and delightedly calling him a bastard.
Zoro watched the group - Franky was now openly sobbing while Nami pat his shoulder awkardly, Luffy was fully wrapped around Usopp - while he tried to catch up with what just happened.
How the hell was he supposed to respond to that?!
He sighed and decided he could confront the cook tomorrow. (Maybe.)
For now he needed a drink.

⛥゚・。 protector: chapter twelve
synopsis: " you were supposed to stay a crewate, just another back to watch, " he tightened his hold, " i didn't even notice the change until i woke up one day and realized i'd take a bullet for you "
cw: violence, gore, fighting, mature themes, profanity, MAJOR/MINOR ANIME SPOILERS, follows the plot of the anime, slowww burn.
a/n: reposting from another account
You snapped your eyes open and coughed up a bunch of seawater, your lungs burning.
Once you got a chance to focus, you realized you were on a beach.
"Huh? Where am I?"
That's when it all started coming back to you.
Arlong.
The stabbing.
Nami.
"Dammit! How long have I been out?" you groaned, your throbbing head making you stumble as you tried to stand up.
It looked around sometime in the afternoon.
You ruffled your wings to get the water off them and flew into the air.
"I gotta go help the boys."
You managed to get back to Arlong Park and saw this giant cow-fish monster hybrid attacking the boys.
"Heavenward Stomp!" You shouted, gripping the handle of your mace tight as you forward flipped, bringing it down on the monster's head.
Hard.
You landed on the platform next to the boys and realized the reverberations knocked out half of Arlong's crew.
"Sorry I'm late to the party guys," you panted, glancing at the now unconscious monster.
"Glad to see you're back in the land of the living but YOU ALMOST TOOK US OUT WITH THAT ATTACK!!" Usopp shouted.
"Stop shouting at my (y/n)! I'm so glad you're safe, my angel!" Sanji dreamily shouted.
"Your (y/n)?" Zoro cocked a brow disapprovingly.
"Nice to see you guys, too," you sighed.
"Damn it, (y/n)! I was gonna hit him," Luffy pouted.
That's when you realized his feet were stuck in the ground.
"Why are your feet in the pavement?" you asked, confused.
"'Cause I was gonna do the Gum-Gum Pinwheel!" he whined.
He paused for a moment, moving side to side.
"Well you can remove them now... right?" you suspiciously asked, raising a brow.
"How dare you hurt our brother!" Hachi angrily shouted, taking your attention away from Luffy.
"It seems that we must now join the fight," Ponytail said in a dangerous voice.
"Now you'll get an education in the inferiority of your species. Choo," Lips glared.
"Oh.. .really... I'd like to see that," Zoro smirked.
"Um, guys? There's something I should tell you," Luffy chimed.
Just then, Hachi started inhaling, and it looked like his chest was inflating.
"What the hell's that octopus doing?" Zoro asked.
"Octopus is best when it's cut thin and salted. Add some olive oil and paprika and it makes the perfect snack while drinking," Sanji smirked.
"Listen to me, guys. I'm kind of in trouble," Luffy chimed again.
"Take this! Zero Vision! Hachi Ink Jet!" Hachi shouted, spewing black ink from his mouth.
You, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji jumped out of the way, but Luffy stayed put and got covered in the black goop.
"Idiot! How come you didn't dodge that?!" Zoro exclaimed.
"AAAAAAAAAH! I can't see squat!" Luffy shouted, aggressively rubbing his eyes.
"Now to finish you off!" Hachi shouted, picking up a large column.
"C'mon, Luffy! Run!!" Usopp shouted from behind a pillar.
"That's the problem! I can't run! I can't even walk! My feet are kinda stuck," he groaned.
"You're the one who stuck 'em in the ground in the first place!" you exclaimed as Hachi drew closer and closer.
"Always thinkin' ahead," Zoro facepalmed.
"One Hachi Ink Jet, served on the rocks," Hachi stated, dropping the giant hunk of stone on Luffy, but Sanji kicked it in half.
"You're such a pain," Sanji sighed.
"Sanji that was so totally awesomely awesome!" Luffy cheesed, pumping his fists in the air.
"Looks like I ended picking one hell of an idiot to be my captain," Sanji smirked.
"We all did," Zoro groaned.
"Welcome to the club," you crossed your arms, rolling your eyes.
"But the truth... is that our idiot captain is far better than a gang who'd prey on a lady," Sanji finished.
"A lady, huh? Hmph!" Ponytail scoffed.
"You rushed into certain death for one lousy girl? I think that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard."
Sanji's prideful expression quickly turned sour.
"Lousy girl? If you insult Nami one more time, I can promise you that you'll go from fishman to fish sticks, got that?" He glared, taking out his cigarette.
"Your skills are quite exceptional for a human, but I must admit that chivalry from a pirate seems just a little fake," Ponytail skeptically crossed his arms.
"I'm damn good at what I do, and I guarantee you there's nothing fake about my desire to help a beautiful lady in need," Sanji smirked, letting out a puff of smoke.
Ponytail cracked his knuckles.
"Looks like I'll be acquainting you with the true superiority of the fishman species."
Usopp tried pulling Luffy out from the ground but he stayed right in place.
'How deep did he stick his feet?!'
"Maybe no one told you that the penalty for playing around in Arlong Park... is death!" Hachi shouted, picking up another hunk of stone and chucking.
"Hey, Octopus," Zoro chimed, somehow getting in front of Hachi, "They're a little bit busy at the moment. Why don't you take me on?"
"Ohh! You're Zoro! I forgot! You can't get away with tricking me!" Hachi shouted, slamming down the giant hunk of stone on Zoro, but he easily dodged.
"And how dare you mercilessly slaughter so many of my brothers!"
"That stuff's old news, octopus man. I personally don't care what reasons you have for wanting to kill me. The situation has changed. You see, the tables have turned. You're not the hunters anymore, understand? Now it's you fish freaks who are being hunted," Zoro smirked, unsheathing his sword.
Suddenly, Usopp let go of Luffy and the boy slammed into Choo, the Lips guy, throwing him across the courtyard.
"Oh, you're dead," he spat, sitting up and running for Usopp.
Usopp screamed and quickly ran away, Choo following not too far behind.
"Crap! I'm gonna go help Usopp. I take it you three can handle these guys?" you quickly asked, unfurling your wings.
"Yeah!" Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy agreed in unison.
You gave a firm nod before flying off after Usopp and Choo.
"Jeez! How fast can these two run?!" you exclaimed, picking up speed as you tried to catch up to Usopp.
He and Choo had ran about a quarter mile down this path with rice crops on one side, and trees on the other.
Once you saw that Usopp had gotten a good distance away from the fishman, you landed next to him and began running.
"Idiot! The villagers said you shot him in the face with fire! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" You shouted, smacking him upside the head as the both of you ran.
"Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time!" he shouted back.
He was sweating bullets.
For some reason, he stopped running and turned around, squinting at the distance.
"Jeez. We ran so fast that we lost him. They may be able to swim like fish when they're in the water, but on land they're just like turtles. Nanny Nanny Boo Boo! Stupid, stupid turtle man! You can't catch anything! You just got a big mouth. Big mouth stupid turtle guy! Hahahahaha!" Usopp taunted, doing a stupid dance.
You suddenly heard a shuffling behind the both of you, and knew exactly who it was.
"You're a very funny man, but you're not very smart, are you?" Choo asked.
You pinched the bridge of your nose, sighing.
"Learn to survive gracefully, Usopp," you groaned.
Usopp quickly took off again, Choo following, and you ran after them.
By the time you'd caught up to them, Usopp was laying in a puddle of blood, unmoving, as Choo stood over him, a smug look on his face.
Your eyes went wide.
'Crap! That seawater made me slower than I thought!'
"Heavenward Stomp!" You shouted, drawing your mace and bringing it down on Choo, but he dodged just in time.
"Ah, yes. The girl. I had almost forgotten about you," he smirked.
"Usopp, you dumbass! Are you alive?! Can you move?! I swear, I leave you alone for two seconds!" You frantically exclaimed, keeping your eyes on Choo as you got into a fighting stance.
Suddenly, he ran at you and jumped in the air, forming a fist.
You quickly moved out the way and the punch collided with the ground, creating a tiny crater.
"Angelic Redemption!" you spat, backhanding your mace into Choo's shoulder.
He let out a yell of pain but grabbed your wrist, throwing you and your weapon into a tree, headfirst.
"Usopp Hammer!" Usopp shouted, smacking Choo in the face with a mallet.
After shaking the blurriness out of your vision, you suddenly felt someone yank you behind a couple of trees.
"Huh?! What're y—?" "Shhh! He doesn't know where we are right now. Just leave it to me," Usopp whispered, covering your mouth.
"Special Attack: Lead Star!" he shouted, throwing a sake bottle at the fishman.
Coo caught it and looked at it for a moment before Usopp shot it to a million pieces.
"Damn it, Usopp! That was good sake!" you whisper yelled at the sniper.
Choo's hands quickly covered his eyes and he backed into the water from the rice crops.
"Is this the only way you can fight, you coward?! At least the woman had the guts to take me head on. But there's no place to hide from my squirt cannon!" Choo shouted.
He put his face underwater and began sucking all the water from the section until he was as round as Luffy's Gum-Gum Balloon.
"Squirt Cannon!" he shouted, spraying a giant, pressurized beam of water at the trees.
He missed by a hair, but the area he did hit was blown into a perfect circle.
"No way! This sucks!" Usopp shouted, sticking his head out from behind the tree and going wide eyed at the sight of the destruction.
"I'll shred you to pieces. Squirt Machine Gun!" Choo exclaimed, shooting these small squirts of water that were the equivalent of bullets.
"AHHH! HE FOUND US!" Usopp shouted, crouching behind a tree and covering his head.
"Gee! I wonder how!" you shouted back, covering your ears from the loud firing noise.
Just then, Choo kicked down the tree you were hiding behind and Usopp got thrown to the floor.
But the boy shot a Flaming Star and set Choo on fire.
"Ack! Hot! Hot! Hot! Fire! Water! Need water!" Choo shouted, running back to the crops.
"Oh, no, ya don't," you smirked, flying after him.
"Judgement..." you started, throwing your mace in the air as you flew.
"DAY!" you exclaimed, catching it and bashing Choo over the head before he even knew what was happening.
Blood squirt out from his head and he dropped to the ground, right in the water.
You landed and sheathed your mace before placing your hands on your knees as you caught your breath.
You turned around to see Usopp cheesing as big as you've ever seen and laughed.
"We make a pretty good team, Long Nose," you panted, smiling.
"Hell yeah we do! We did it!" he smirked, doing a little happy dance.
"Alright, enough horseplay. We gotta get back to the main fight and help out," you started, standing up straight and unfurling your wings.
Usopp's expression quickly fell.
"Do we have to?" he whimpered, his lips quivering.
"Oh stop it, you big baby. Let's go," you rolled your eyes, taking off on the path as Usopp ran close behind.
The two of you got back to Arlong Park to see Zoro standing off with Arlong, his swords drawn.
Usopp quickly shot an egg star at the fishman, but he wiped it off as if it was nothing, which it pretty much was.
Zoro quickly swiped his swords at Arlong's nose but they clashed, not making a single scratch, and in the background you saw Hachi getting back up.
"We're not done, Zoro! You may have put me down, but it wasn't for good! Cause I'm still alive, and now I'm gonna get your other friend!"
And with that, he dove into the water.
'Sanji's probably down there. He can handle himself. Right now I gotta help Zoro.'
"What's with all these bandages?" Arlong smirked as he hoisted Zoro up, ripping off the bandages with a squirt of blood.
Your eyes went wide.
The wound got worse since you first bandaged it.
'How in the hell is he still breathing?! How is he still alive?!'
Arlong threw away the blood-soaked bandages and wound up his fist, getting ready for a punch, but Zoro laughed.
"If a person stays still, their wounds won't open up," he started.
"Is that right? Do you find your situation amusing?" Arlong smirked.
"I'm not talking about me. I'm talking about Octo-Man," Zoro smirked back.
You grabbed your mace and stood up, taking off as fast as you could.
'Warriors battle is sacred my ass. I'll take the shame.'
You threw the handle around Arlong's neck and grabbed its butt, pulling to put him in a choke-hold.
"I'm sorry to break it to you, but my neck is far too thick for your puny human body to choke," Arlong smirked, grabbing you by your wing and throwing you into the ground, creating a small crater.
"(y/n), you damn idiot," Zoro grunted.
"Fine, I'll leave you to die then," you groaned, weakly lifting your head.
'Damn, this guy is strong!'
"Zoro! (y/n)!" Luffy happily shouted, shooting his hands down from above and wrapping them around you two.
"Where the hell have you been?" you coughed, blood starting to pour down your head from the slam.
"Hey! Hold on! What're you—!" Zoro's sentence was cut short as the two of you got yanked into the air.
"Let's switch!" Luffy chuckled.
"DAMMIT, LUFFY!" you and Zoro shouted in unison, your voices growing distant.
海賊狩
"That idiot! I'm gonna kill 'im," Zoro groaned, face down on the steps you two landed on.
"Get in line," you grumbled, propping yourself up against a pillar.
He fell sleep, and you groaned in pain.
'I can use my power now. He's gonna be asleep for a while.'
You sucked a breath between your teeth, allowing your head, wing, and shoulder to glow.
They burned, and you winced, but they slowly began to heal, bones snapping back into place, feathers regrowing, and blood replenishing.
When it was all done, the divine glow stopped and you laid down, slowly drifting into sleep.
Unaware that a certain green haired swordsman witnessed everything.

"with him?" for the wip game def not just bc i want a future chapter teaser 🤭 👀
grins evilly...this is from a future Future chapter (chapter 8) but ive been itching to show it to someone
“It wasn’t the same. Usopp chose to leave. I had no other choice. You have no idea how much I wanted to go home to the Sunny.” He says, and Zoro’s surprised to hear the cook’s voice break. Sanji’s not an unemotional hardass- he’s seen the man blubber plenty, but never to him.
Zoro stands his ground, though gears are turning in his head. “You still didn’t put your trust in Luffy, cook.” The nickname almost sounds soft, for once. “You know how he is. He could have turned it around somehow, even without you agreeing to the wedding.”
“I tried not to agree at first.” Sanji says, raising glassy eyes to glare at him. “It wasn’t just the crew they were holding over my head, jackass. They were going to kill Zeff. They were going to take down the Baratie. They said they’d- Fuck, why am I even telling you all this? It’s not like you’re going to change your stubborn-ass mind.”
“I don’t see why we had to talk about it in the first place. It’s all in the past, what happened happened. What about now?”
“What about now?” Sanji asks, balling his fists. “Now, because of all that bullshit, I’m losing my mind! Do you even know why I asked you to kill me, Zoro!?”
“No. And I don’t need to know.”
“Well too fucking bad. It’s because I thought I’d kicked a woman. I thought I’d split her head open, and when I came to my senses she was looking at me, terrified- and bleeding, and-” He pinches the bridge of his nose, fumbling for that cigarette in his pocket from earlier. “And-my body- it’s-”
He pulls out his lighter again, and it flick, flick, flickers- until he spikes it into the ground and lights his foot aflame to light the damn thing instead. The gold mermaid figure makes a loud shink against the road, bouncing up and skidding a few feet away.
“I need to still be able to trust you to do that. I still need you to kill me if you have to.” Sanji says, urgently.
Zoro fixes his gaze to him. “I don’t back down from my word.”
“Even if you, what, fall in love with me?”
“Yes. Even then.”
“Bullshit! I asked you because I knew you were the one person on the crew I could trust to not only pull it off, but do it without doubting yourself. This throws a wrench in all of that!”
“It doesn’t.” Zoro insists, nearly a growl. “If you lose your mind, I’ll kill you. I swore. But you’re delusional if you think I’m gonna let you lose your mind that easily.”
Zoro’s convictions and his contradictions make Sanji dizzy. The anger spinning in his chest- fuck, what did it even start out as?- it’s gripping him and the smoke in his lungs isn’t doing anything to calm it.
“You can’t just wait until the worst of it, Zoro. I need you to nip it in the bud.”
Zoro, who’s been fairly steely calm in comparison, finally balls his fist into Sanji’s shirt, yanking him forward with a growl. “Why are you so desperate to die, huh!? You have no drive to live for yourself, only to make yourself useful to others. It’s humiliating. Don’t you have any pride!?”
“Don’t you think you have too much!?” Sanji screams, gripping Zoro’s suit back just as hard. “I don’t understand your bullshit confidence or your fucking- hypocritical hero complex, sacrificing yourself for the crew almost every battle and then coming at me for trying to do the same!”
“It’s not the same-!” Zoro snarls, and Sanji cuts him off before he can explain.
“It isn’t, mosshead!? Then how come almost every single battle leaves you half-dead, more injured than any of us- even Luffy!? How come every loss has you training yourself to death in the crow’s nest like it’s all your fault it happened!?”
That seems to hit a nerve. “I’m tired of trying to explain myself to you- Clearly all you wanna do is wallow in your own self pity.” Zoro hisses.
Sanji sees red. “You just don’t wanna admit your self-esteem issues are just as glaring as mine, you ‘honorable’ prick.”

What One Piece movies have you watched so far? Can you rank them?
I have watched
1. Strong World
2. Gold
I enjoyed them both. They were appropriately goofy and had good fight scenes. I feel like I liked Strong World better, but now that I’m thinking back, I think Gold was more interesting. Although Luffy fighting the monsters at the beginning of Strong World was bad ass, so maybe that’s really all I need. And the team rolling in at the end was also very stupid (affectionate). Why did Luffy have a tie? None of the costuming made any sense, in either movie and I was here for all of it, especially in Gold when they decided to all wear matching outfits and apparently brought a change of clothes for Zoro so he could match. I liked how they had to save Zoro and there was a car chase and the heist plot. I liked how Nami’s weather powers were appreciated in Strong World.
But they did rehash a lot of old themes, which makes sense because they don’t want to introduce anything too new into something non-canon that still needs to fit with canon. Like “oh no! Nami left the crew to protect us! Should we rescue her???” And “what do you mean the people working in this World Government casino are slaves???” My dudes. Have we learned nothing? Also, the bad guy in Strong World had swords for feet, because he cut off his own legs to escape, and I see who you stole that from, sir.
I don’t really want to watch any of the earlier movies, because they sound bad. And I don’t want to see Red, because I will not stand for Shanks character assassination. I tried to watch Stampede, but it’s not on Netflix. So I guess that’s all the movies for me.

🔅⚔️The Smile of a thousand suns⚔️🔅
Zolu fanfic (Zoro x Luffy) ⚔️👒
🍚 🌟Chapter 4: You are so much🌟🍚
A couple of hours has passed - it seems as though he was in need of a good sleep, especially with all that had happened. The raven haired boy’s eyes fluttered open gently.
“Zoro.” He muttered softly as he tried to push himself up off the floor.
“You know…for telling me you never want to see me again- you sure do love saying my name.” Zoro commented. He was sat, leaning against the back wall of his cell. His voice was solid and his demeanour was a stable one - something Luffy envied.
Heavy rain could be heard from outside and the two could feel the ship rock as waves began to hit the sides of the boat. They were in the midst of the storm.
“Are we on our way to the marine headquarters yet? This place is really uncomfortable.” Luffy yawned
“We’ve been sailing for about three hours now - it looks like we’ve hit the storm.” Zoro informed. Luffy tried to get to his feet - but with the ship rocking and his hands being cuffed he couldn’t keep his balance. His attempt to stand failed, causing Luffy to slide down the back wall for support and sitting with his knees to his chest.
“Three hours? Is that it? I’m so bored of this place!” Luffy groaned
“Well you didn’t have to follow me.”
“I-I wasn’t following you!”
Luffy let out a sigh before resting his arms on his knees and pressing his crimson cheek against his forearm.
He had been backed into a corner and zoro knew it.
“Why did you come after me?” Zoro asked. Sounding a lot softer.
“Because I…I didn’t wanna see you get hurt.” Luffy mumbled into his arm.
“I won’t get get hurt - you and I both know that.” Zoro replied bluntly. Luffy let out a sharp breath, his expression was one of fear.
“I-I…” Luffy stammered.
“That stuff you said back on the sunny - about being nothing…it’s not true.” Zoro said softly.
“I-I know it’s- it’s just hard to feel like it when I was so much…” tears began to form in the captains eyes.
“You are so much.” Zoro said, looking over to his capitan with a small smile.
Hearing those words from the person he needed to - even for a small moment, brought back the euphoria.
“I-I didn’t want you to go. I wanted you to stay.” Luffy admitted. He couldn’t hold back the tears, in response he scrunched up his face to try hold them back. Zoro didn’t say anything in response, he just let Luffy talk.
“I thought you were the reason I lost gear five - I-I mean you were but not it’s not your fault! It’s mine.” Luffy tried explain but it seemed he had gotten tongue tied. Tears began to fall down Luffy’s cheeks.
What had he gotten them into.
Captured by the marines so easily, now powerless and separated from the rest of the crew.
Luffy’s expression turned to one of anger. He said nothing as he pushed himself off the floor. His aura was one of tragedy. Zoro could feel luffy’s sadness but this anger? He couldn’t quite understand where it had come from.
Suddenly a loud bang was heard. It rung though the cells.
“I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!” Luffy screamed, slamming the sea prism bars again the cage. His face was washed with red and streams of tears rolling down his face. “MARINES LIKE YOU DONT DESERVE TO SEE ME CRY!” Luffy broke down, continue to slam his entire body against the bars.
“Only took three hours for you to go insane in that cell?” One of the marines joked.
It was like a punch in the stomach- Luffy was overcome with humiliation and embarrassment. His breaths were heavy and his hair was a mess.
“You…” Luffy growled to himself, gritting his teeth and clenching his fist tightly.
“Luffy.” Zoro said, cutting the silence.
That voice.
Everything dropped.
Just like before.
Slowly, Luffy let his hands fall open. Held them up and looked and what he’d done.
He had pierced his skin with his nails and the small amount of blood had been smeared across the palm of his hands.
It was so familiar to-
“Luffy look at me.” Zoro ordered, knowing exactly what was wrong.
“It looks just like-“ luffy said, his voice sounding so empty. His hands where shaking.
Zoro reached though the bars into Luffys cell and grabbed his arm before pulling him close.
“Listen to me okay.” Zoro comforted. “Just focus on me.”
“You will be okay.” Zoro nodded as he held Luffys hands. “I’ve got you. I’ve got you every step of the way.”
“I-I didn’t want you to go I-“ luffy began.
“You’re not well right now.”
“I…I’m not.”
“You will get through this - I know you.”
“That doesn’t excuse what I did.”
“it doesn’t…But I know that isn’t who you want to be.”
“It’s not.”
“I know it’s not.”
Zoro’s hands where warm. His expression was soft - something that was awfully rare. His eyes looked down at Luffy’s hands.
“I didn’t mean to.” Luffy frowned sadly. He was expecting zoro to be angry, it was something he always warned Luffy of doing. “Are you angry?”
“No.” Zoro hummed to himself, as he looked at the small wounds on Luffy’s palm.
“You’re not?” Luffy tilted his head to one side.
“Those will be the only injuries you’ll get through all this - I promise.” Zoro nodded. His confidence infected Luffy - reassuring him that no matter what he had said or done what was most important was that they got away from the marines safely.
Without warning, the door to the prison quarters swung open. A marine soldier walked in holding a bowl of freshly cooked rice with grilled vegetables. It looked bland but the two hadn’t eaten for a while now so they wouldn’t dare turn it down. Luffys gaze stalked the marines as he walked past his cell. The marine stopped outside of zoro’s cell before offering it to him through the bars.
“WHAT!? How come he gets food and I don’t!?” Luffy huffed before pulling away from zoro.
“Your friend here turned himself in with out any annoyance - you on the other hand cause us grief anytime you’re near us.” The marine growled. Zoro took the food but he was looking rather annoyed that Luffy wasn’t being treated the same. The marine left quickly, leaving the two prisoners and the two guards.
“This isn’t fair.” Luffy moaned as he slumped down against the wall once again.
“Heh- jealous your Friend gets his last meal?” One of the guards jabbed.
“Last meal my ass.” Luffy bit back. “The food looks like trash anyway - where’s the color? The variety? What if I’m allergic and die? Then my bounty would be docked for nothing!”
“I wouldn’t worry about it - you’re not getting any food.” The marine commented.
“Allergic? The only thing you’re allergic too is brain cells.” Zoro added.
“WATCH IT!” Luffy yelled.
Luffy watched, tortured by the sight of food.
“Can you stop staring at me while I eat.” Zoro said - shoveling a spoonful of rice into his mouth. “Here.” He offered, he held the bowl out onto Luffys cell. Zoro had eaten exactly half.
“I would take it…but I can’t exactly.” Luffy smiled awkwardly, highlighting his cuffs. Zoro rolled his eyes and Luffy pushed himself up off the floor.
“Am I really going to have to feed it to you?” Zoro groaned.
“Unless you want your captain to starve!” Luffy exclaimed.
“Stop being dramatic - you won’t starve.”
“If you don’t feed me I will!”
Zoro let out a sigh before he and Luffy faced each other, the a wall of sea prism bars separating them. The green haired swordsman scooped up the rice into the spoon and then went on to feed luffy through the prison bars.
“I think this is more embarrassing than watching you cry.” One of the marine guards cringed
“Shut up! I need food so I can kick your asses!” Luffy snapped back.
“Stop talking.” Zoro lectured.
“Sorry.” Luffy said with a mouthful of rice
After eating, the two relaxed together for a few hours. Luffy was inspecting his restraints, he put his feet to them trying to push them off but it didn’t work. While zoro looked on the verge of sleeping.
“Don’t fall asleep on me! Im so bored!” Luffy complained.
“Eh? What’s that got to do with me?” Zoro replied, is eyes flicking over to a very frustrated looking Luffy.
“I don’t know - throw that bowl at the marines face - he’s pissing me off.” Luffy pouted.
“Is that an order?” Zoro asked.
“No - it’s a suggestion.”
“I’m not going to throw anything at the marines .”
“Why not?” Luffy groaned. “It’ll be entertaining.”
“They’ll shoot us and you keep forgetting that sea stone negates your powers.” Zoro reminded.
“O-Oh yeah…” luffy blushed - it was easy to forget we was on the edge of being powerless.
Moments passed and evening arrived. The two had nothing better to do so they passed the time with sleeping. Luffy was on the floor curled up in a ball, shivering as the remnants of the storm breeze haunted the hallways of the ship. Zoro, on the other hand, hadn’t moved from his position of sitting against the back wall, his eyes darted over to Luffy making sure his captain was okay…well okay as he could be before falling asleep himself.

Out of the Well
More Lux and Zoro? More Lux and Zoro.
Enjoy!
Zoro panted heavily, eyes fleeting between trying to find a new crevice to cling on to and gazing up into the moonlight. Only maybe two or three feet more then he’d be free. First, he’d have to find his swords and then he had to warn the others. Suddenly, he noticed a shadow creep in front of the moon. When he looked up, he was staring right into Jirou’s face. In his shock, he lost his grip along the slippery wall of the well. Just when he thought he was about to fall, he felt Jirou’s hands around his wrist, digging into his flesh. Once again, he was entirely stunned.
“Are you just gonna hang there or what?” Jirou growled, a strain on his voice.
Quickly, Zoro tried to catch his footing again and take some of his weight off Jirou’s shoulders. After all, he was sure to be significantly heavier than this twink of a man.
“Don’t pull me down there with you.”
With heavy breathing and straining muscles, clinging on to Jirou whenever possible just as he clung on to him, Zoro finally managed to climb out of the well, resting against the damp wall as he tried to catch his breath. As he did, his eyes trailed across Jirou once again, like so many times before. He had left behind his jacket and rolled up his sleeves, his collar partly unbuttoned but his holster still sitting across his chest. Wet and dirty stains from Zoro’s hands were scattered across the white fabric of his shirt, making the fabric slightly transparent. For some reason, that caused a spark in Zoro’s brain, one that travelled throughout his muscles and his veins. Could just be the exhaustion… What mattered most, however, was that Jirou was carrying Zoro’s swords.
“You want those back?” he asked, seeing Zoro eye them.
“Yeah,” Zoro groaned, stepping away from the wall. “Why did you come for me?”
“Because I need your help,” Jirou said. “Sorry about the bottle thing, by the way. I hope I didn’t hit you too hard.”
“It was nothing.”
“Yeah, sure. The blood on your scalp says different.”
“Why do you want my help anyway? To kill more people?”
“I didn’t kill Merry, okay? That was Kuro. And yeah, killing might be part of it. I need you to help me save Kaya. If Kuro and the others get in the way, fair game.”
“Why should I trust you? You tried to kill me last time I saw you.”
“Goddammit,” Jirou hissed, “don’t be such a baby. I didn’t try to kill you. I literally tried to be as gentle as possible while knocking you out so it looked like you were dead but you wouldn’t actually die. How was I supposed to know they’d throw you in the well?”
“I still don’t trust you.”
“Kuro has been tricking me into thinking I was sick just like he did with Kaya. The only reason I didn’t get him yet is because I was too weak, I knew nobody would believe me and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to beat Kuro, Buchi and Sham all at the same time. – Also, I’m gonna help you save your captain.”
Now that caught Zoro’s attention. “Luffy? What did he do this time?”
“He drank a full pot of poisoned soup meant for Kaya. He’s still alive but he’s being dragged away by the Marines.”
“Fucking hell…” Zoro grumbled. He reached out his hand. “My swords.”
“That means you’ll help me, huh?”
“Yeah, just give me my swords back before that idiot gets taken off the island.”
“Good boy,” Jirou cooed with a smirk, loosening the belt with Zoro’s swords from around his hips and giving it back to the swordsman. “Follow me – and try to keep up. We’ll cut them off before the main entrance gate.”
-
Further away, on the main road, Luffy was doubled over on the ground, coughing up thick blue soup. Koby was kneeling next to him, gently rubbing his back. Finally, it seemed that all of the goo was out of his system.
“Koby,” Luffy, croaked, looking into his friend’s eyes, “I gotta go back. The butler. He’s gonna kill Kaya. And then he’s gonna go after my crew.”
But Koby only lightly shook his head.
“I’m under direct orders to bring you in,” he said pleadingly.
Luffy placed his hand on Koby’s shoulder. “You said you wanted to help innocent people. Kaya’s innocent.”
“You know what, screw this,” Helmeppo sighed, taking Koby’s attention away from Luffy. With a click, he pulled out his gun.
“Helmeppo, don’t!” Koby called, standing in the way of his shot.
“Father always said, ‘Dead pirate weighs the same as a live one.’”
“Garp gave us strict orders.”
“He gave you strict orders. – Start walking, pirate,” he told Luffy, “or die.”
Suddenly, there was a rustling in the trees surrounding Luffy and the Marines. With a growl, a large cat jumped out onto the road, right into the Marines standing at the front. With its sheer speed and strength alone, it knocked one of the soldiers over, then attacked the next, biting his arm, making him drop his rifle. With a terrified whimper, Helmeppo tried to flee the other way, but he was met by Zoro beating up the soldiers at the back, now staring him right in the face.
“Hey, haircut.”
“Wait!” Luffy called just before the cat jumped at Koby. “He’s my friend!”
To Koby’s surprise, the cat listened. It peacefully sat down on the ground and licked the blood off its muzzle, yawning and watching as Zoro knocked Helmeppo out with a single punch. Now that it was sitting still in the light of a streetlamp, Koby could tell that it was a pretty big lynx with soft-looking fur, white splotches across its body, tufted ears, and now very friendly, amber-colored eyes.
“Zoro!” Luffy happily walked over to his first mate’s side. “How’d you know where to find me?”
“I didn’t,” Zoro said. He nodded at the cat. “He did.”
“Ah. Kaya said she had a pet lynx. – Hi, Bowie! Thanks for the help, big guy.”
“Mhm. Only she lied.”
In front of their eyes, the lynx started morphing in shape, standing up straight before revealing the face of a very familiar person.
“Jirou?!” Luffy gasped.
“Hiya,” Jirou replied with a lazy two-finger salute. “And it’s Lux now, thank you.”
“You-“ Koby stammered, “you’re—”
“Uh-uh. Lux Jirou the Wildcat, formerly of the Black Cat Pirates. But now, I’m the security guard of this place, and I don’t give a shit about your orders. You wanna take these pirates with you? Well, tough luck, ‘cause they’re with me now. That butler in there, that’s Kuro of a Thousand Plans, and he’s trying to kill Kaya, and I can’t let that happen. And don’t think he’s gonna stop at just Kaya. I know him. He already killed Merry, and there are more people to follow. So, if you’re a good Marine, you’re gonna let us go, alright?”
Koby just stood there and stared, his thoughts racing in his mind, duty versus morals.
“Koby,” Luffy said decidedly yet gently, “I know you’ve got a job to do. But we’re gonna go back and help our friends. So, don’t try to stop us.”
With those words, he put his straw hat back on and ran off towards the mansion. Zoro followed right behind. Lux threw a quick smirk at Koby before setting after them, shifting into his lynx form. Within mere seconds, he was at the front of the group and shifted back to explain:
“They put the house on lockdown. We won’t get in trough the main entrance and cracking all the outside security locks would take way too long; we’ll have to take the emergency passage.”
Without even waiting for an answer, he shifted back into lynx form and jumped off the main path, leading Zoro and Luffy into the garden. They were running out of time!

a little snippet from the train au universe from zoro's pov! this takes place in chapter one after the attempted robbery on the train. enjoy!
-
“What happened!?” Nami shouts, pulling him into her apartment quickly and tugging at his jacket. The door slams shut behind him. The frame rattles.
“I’m fine. It’s bandaged.” He says, letting her strip him down until she can inspect his arm. “Can I use your washing machine?”
Nami gapes at him. “Can you-“ She groans, covering her face with her hands. Behind her, her sister Nojiko pokes her head out of the kitchen.
“Are you dying?” She asks in lieu of a hello. Lifting her chin as she looks at him critically.
“No.” Zoro says.
Nojiko nods. “Then please be quiet. I have a headache.” She tells Nami who looks over her shoulder to stick her tongue out. Nojiko returns the gesture in kind before disappearing back into the kitchen.
Nami turns back to him, still standing in her entry way. Her brow deeply furrowed. “What happened?” She asks, putting her hands on her hips briefly before taking his arm and carefully examining the bandages more closely. They are slowly soaking through with blood.
“Someone tried to mug Franky’s train.” He explains, shrugging with one shoulder and hiking up his backpack further.
“And some random thugs got you?” Nami tuts, making Zoro scowl. If he didn’t know it was her way of reacting to worry, he’d be annoyed with her. “Pathetic.”
“I just woke up!” He protests and Nami rolls her eyes, walking further into the apartment and to the bathroom. Zoro rolls his eyes before he follows.
Nami clicks her tongue and wags her finger over her shoulder. “Excuses, excuses. Although-“ She stops by the bathroom door, beckoning him to go inside. She stays in the hallway leaning against the doorframe and strokes her chin.
“Did anyone film you? If this goes public before the next Four Blue we might get a better rate on your bets.” Nami ponders.
Zoro shrugs, taking off his hoodie and throwing it into the washing machine drum alongside his jacket. He digs around his backpack for the rest of his laundry. Might as well take the opportunity to do it all while he's at it.
“I’ll have to call Cavendish. We can work with this. Unless you get yourself killed in the next two years.” She continues, brow furrowed and Zoro glares at her.
“I’m not dying.” He tells her pointedly.
She lifts her brow, looking at his arm. He follows her eyes. “You’re dripping.” She says tersely.
“Huh.” Zoro says. Taking off his clothes must have aggravated the wound. The oozing has increased, thick beads of red pushing through the white gauze. He shrugs. “It’ll stop.”
Nami bites her lip, pressing herself into the doorway as Zoro starts the washing machine. Her fingers drum on her arm. She has fresh nails, a seafoam mint with little pearls by the cuticles. He takes some toilet paper to wipe the blood off the tiles by his feet and dab some excess away from his arm.
“Should I call Chopper?” She asks tersely.
“No, he’s got enough stuff going on. It’s fine.” He tells her, locking eyes with her. Chopper would only ask why he didn’t come to him immediately and Zoro doesn’t feel like explaining. It’s bad enough that half his friends know the shit he’s in. Chopper shouldn’t need to worry about him too.
She wants to say more, he can tell but they've had this argument a hundred times already. “We should change the bandage at least.” Nami says quietly, walking into the bathroom and leaning over him to reach the cupboard with their first aid kit.
Zoro takes a seat on the closed toilet lid, keeping a bunch of toilet paper around the leaking part while Nami gathers her supplies. She shoves a tower of towels to the side to make room. Too large gloves snap over her hands to protect her nails before she unwinds the bandage with a pinched look. Her jaw is clenched, the bone moving underneath her skin.
“Thanks. I’ll pay you back.” He tells her, bumping his knee against hers.
She sighs, shoulders dropping a little. “I’m increasing my cut for your next win.” She says. “Who bandaged you up? Franky’s usually more sloppy.” The bandages land in the little bin next to the toilet and Nami grabs an old, already stained towel to wipe away the blood. The precarious tower of them toppels into the sink.
“That doctor.” Zoro says. "From Hiriluk Station." Remembering the other man’s fingers digging into his arm, rubber gloved hands brushing over his skin. The faint smell of shampoo over the copper of blood. Nami’s furrowed brow deepens as her attempts to stem the blood flow have little success.
“He said I need stitches.” Zoro adds.
She drops her head, groaning. “I was afraid you’d say that.” Nami says miserably. She whines and takes off the dirty gloves before taking the towels out of the sink. “I’ll get my sewing kit. Don’t bleed out.”
Zoro gives her a little salute as she leaves, holding his arm on his lap. There are blood stains on his pants but the fabric is dark enough they aren’t that visible unless you knew they were there. Maybe he can run a second round of laundry later.
Nami returns with a little plastic case and a stool. She sets up on top of the washing machine for lack of surface area, making the needles and thread inside the case rattle.
“He offered to do it.” Zoro says as she cuts off a piece of thread.
Nami looks at him, putting the end of her thread between her lips. “What?”
“The doc. Offered to take care of it. For free.” He says.
Nami scoffs. “Yeah, right.” She squints as she threads the needle. “As if.”
Zoro hums. Nami touches his arm before remembering to put some new gloves on. She also pours some disinfectant over the needle and thread before she returns to her stool. The smell of it fills the small bathroom instantly.
She takes a deep breath to brace herself before she pinches his skin and forces the needle through. He relaxes his fingers. Familiar pain making his arm tingle. The needle tugs at his skin, resisting Nami’s lead. It burns unpleasantly. Zoro watches the laundry spin behind the window of the maschine.
“He told me his name. Said to ask for him.” Zoro mentions. His other hand flexes and he has to resist the urge to bounce his leg.
Nami blows out a breath and Zoro feels it on the wet skin on his arm. “Sounds like a scam." She says dismissively, then she snorts. "Or he wants to sleep with you.”
Zoro cocks his head, inhales deeply. Considers. Thinks about those tattooed hands on him.
“Oh, no. Stop looking like that.” Nami warns him.
“Like what?” He retorts but doesn't meet her glare.
Nami leans in close until she can stare directly in his eye. “You’d think with your blood loss it would be harder to think with your dick.” He rolls his eye and leans away, ingoring her until she focuses back on sewing him shut. Her fingers slip on his slick skin, making it hard to get the needle through.
“I wouldn't mind. He looks good.” He says after a minute of silence.
Nami huffs. “And? There are many good looking guys out there who’d be happy to blow your back out that aren’t stuck up rich dudes.”
“Who’s saying he’s stuck up or rich?” Zoro asks and Nami just gives him a look with a raised bow.
“What about Killer? Ah wait, him and Kidd finally got their shit together, didn’t they.” Nami finishes off the last bit of sewing, tying off the end of the thread with a knot. There is still blood leaking through when she dabs his arm with the towel but much slower. The black thread paints a harsh contrast against his skin.
“What about Yamato? I like Yamato.” Nami offers.
Zoro shakes his head. “He’s been dating some girl for a while. Pretty serious I think.”
Nami blows a raspberry with her lips, reaching over to the first aid kit and grabbing a roll of gauze. “What about the weird giraffe looking guy, Kaku? Or Hachi? Now that his restaurant has taken off he's-”
“Can you stop?" Zoro exhales sharply. She presses her lips together, pulling the gauze tight. "It wouldn’t be anything serious anyway.” Zoro says, looking down at the mess of his arm. He’s not exactly in a position to have a relationship right now. And his track record isn’t anything to write home about either - not that he could blame anyone for that but himself. He might just not be cut out for anything long term. He wasn’t exactly a catch before he became an unemployed bum. Looking at this history it was almost like Zoro was a stepping stone on the path to other people’s happiness. Which is fine. He’s glad they found someone. He doesn't really have the time for a relationship anyway.
Nami gives him a pinched look before she stands and washes her hands.
Water splatters in the sink as the needles continue to rattle in their plastic case.

24 days of Christmas: Christmas tree
Thanks to Minimini123 on AO3 for the prompts that had to do with decorating the Christmas tree! Hope you enjoy :)
JillWellington/Pixabay
The sharp smell of fir permeated the Polar Tang. Usually, Law wouldn’t have minded, but it was giving Penguin a headache and thus he did mind. A lot.
“No.”
Nami stood with arms akimbo, feet firmly planted in front of her tree.
“Yes.”
Law folded his arms, using his height to his advantage, towering over the shorter pirate who did not care one iota.
“It. Stays.”
“And I am putting the wellbeing of my crew before your holiday feelings. The tree goes.”
Nami’s brow bunched as she geared up to what looked to be a telling off of the century.
And then her shoulders dropped in sudden defeat.
“Fine.”
All air had left her, even her voice sounded flat and calm.
Each step away from her tree took away something, diminishing her and whittling away at her spirit. Even her hair, usually electric and lively, moving around her in spirited waves, hang limp, hiding her features.
And Law saw, to his consternation, the wet tracks on her cheeks as she passed under the night light.
“Nami.”
His voice stopped her in her tracks, but she still stood turned away, the slope of her shoulders the only visible sign of her spirit.
Law wrapped his arms around her, leaning his head against hers. Her warmth was countered by icy fingers wrapping around his forearms as she leaned into his touch. He could feel her uneven breathing against his chest, her breaths ragged and irregular.
“Christmas trees are… important for me,” Nami finally managed to say, tears lacing her voice. “I just wanted it to be a surprise. It’s… it’s what Bell-Mére used to do for me and Nojiko when we were small and- and-“
The rest of her sentence was cut off in a wet hiccup.
“And then I started doing it on the Sunny but now I’m not there, so- so I- so…”
Law felt his heart clench.
Of course.
“I understand. But Penguin is allergic,” he said, stroking her hair soothingly, feeling the hiccups course through her as she tried to reign in her tears.
“I- I didn’t know,” Nami admitted in a tiny voice, her hands tightening on his arms. “I just wanted to surprise you.”
Law pressed a kiss to her temple. “Is it the tree or the surprise that’s important?”
“Both. It’s the smell and the surprise and the- the whole thing.”
“Since Penguin will not be able to breathe, we’ll have to figure something else out instead of having a whole-ass tree.”
Nami laughed, a sad and soggy sound. “It would be a damper if he went into anaphylactic shock from a tree.”
“He would have done that already if his allergies were that severe,” Law hummed against her, tightening his grip for a moment and feeling her steadying heartbeat in his grasp. “But he will appreciate not having to spend the holidays wrapped in soothing bandages or coughing his lungs up.”
“How about hyacints?”
“Nah, Bepo can’t have them. He had one once and talked to a wall the rest of the day.”
“Wait, he eats them?”
“You eat bread, but do I comment?”
“Speaking of bread, what about gingerbread?”
“Celiac. No bread.”
“Lussebulle?”
“After the latest fiasco? No, siree.”
“I tried! I even bought some gluten free flour!”
“You shouldn’t have asked Zoro to buy it, now should you?”
Nami’s laugh was brighter now, nary a trace of sorrow left. “Sorry. I really thought the third time had been the charm.”
“It’s fine,” said Law. “But the tree needs to go.”
Nami nodded in understanding, tightening her grip around him for a breath. “Thanks, Law.”
Law smiled and pressed another kiss to her forehead.
“Go to sleep. We’ll figure it out tomorrow.”
Nami merely nodded and sniffled one last time before giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
Law watched the slight figure disappear down the hallway towards their cabin. He waited until he heard the door open and close in the distance before he teleported into the cockpit, where Hakugan and Bepo were on night shift.
“Bepo, call the Sunny. We need to meet up.”
