Since the park is open from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M and on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., you have the flexibility of time to go. My nephews and my nieces really love to go here with me every time. In fact, they love to go every weekend. It is both fun and educational, especially for young kids like them. Keep the Celebration Going!

In our family, we keep celebrating Christmas throughout our entire winter break. So what if December 25th has past, we’re still fa-la-laing and watching Christmas movies. That said, we took our celebrating up a notch the other night when we visited the Christmas Wonderland of Lights at Zootastic in Troutman. The last time my husband and I saw the lights at Zootastic was when I was pregnant with our soon-to-be 8-year-old twins. So you can imagine how much fun we had driving them through this magical light show.

The lights are set to music, which you can tune into with your radio, and there are all sorts of holiday themes throughout the display from reindeer on sliding boards to fish jumping out of the pond to nativity scenes. I loved the tall cosmic Christmas tree near the beginning of the drive. You can also visit the petting zoo, where I saw my first live porcupine. Who knew these guys could be that big? 

The lights will be on through January 1, so hang onto your holiday spirit and head to Zootastic!
