Derailing project of the moment, Project "Nephew's Birthday Gift" is... Technically done. Added side seams, because he's turning four, and pockets, because cool rocks exist.

I also kept the promise of it not taking up much space. It's about the size of a T-shirt, and I'm so very very tempted to just... Buy a T-shirt and play an innocent prank on the birthday boy.

And then the fiber craft demons struck, in the shape of a very charming man in the open air museum doing a demonstration with five dozen cards and sewing thread on a +5m inkle loom, and I decided nephew needs a knighty belt. Because that's what kindergartners care about: handmade decorative techniques that were available to people in the era. It's definitely not just that he wants a dress-up outfit to boink his brother on the butt with a toy sword in.

I know everyone focuses on Momo and Tohru when talking about bad costume design (with good reason), but can we talk about Koji and Rikido?

Like, one of them is a ketchup and mustard coloured shirt and shorts and the other one is a basic ass yellow bodysuit. I don't think it's a hot take to call them the ugliest hero suits in the entire story. I genuinely cannot think of an uglier one than theirs. Even Eraserhead's depressed emo hobo sweater looks cooler.

And both of them have solid themes going for them too.

Koji could get a nature theme for his suit to look like a living mountain that his animals inhabit or a bunch of really neat fur patterns that could be painted on it.

And I've fought too many dessert themed bosses in video games for Rikido's suit to look acceptable.

I kinda hope we gat a CC chapter where they get some fashion advice.

I think the reason they don't get as much shit for the bad costume design is because Momo and Hagakure's are the sexualized type of bad.

But yeah my boys got shafted. I can't even say it's because they're minor characters within the class because there's legit minor characters who have cooler designs.

I do want to swing around to redesigning them though but that'll probably be a while?

sorry that every pet i've gotten besides my goldies has been a sudden semi-emergency. ig thats what happens when you are not actively looking for a new pet but are open to speedrunning newcomers that need help asap. i will always find a way to help a creature if i am able, but i will be stressed out the entire time 👍 i do not take guys that i CANNOT care for. but i am good at making room. so it will happen again lol.

Yesterday I was saying that I wanted to buy second hand cargo pants and modify them to give them a more techwear look but today I'm thinking of sewing a zipper top instead which makes me think I don't want a specific thing it's just a vibe and missing sewing

So I evidently did a shit job of packing and failed to pack my black and green felts (which I need to finish an ornament) and also somehow missed that I needed green seed beads. So for the second time in, like, a week, I will be going to Joanns for far more felt than I need (literally just need a tiny bit for a beak and an even tinier bit for a singular accent piece). I'm sure the lines will be lovely.

...might buy some yarn on sale as well for even more kitty blankets, because I can plow through those pretty quickly and the only other project I brought along (besides the ornaments for Christmas presents) is a cross-stitch thing that will be my brother's present next year, and I can't work on that when he's around.
