I need everyone upset about Liam's promotion to understand that it had nothing to do with him being better/worse than Yuki. Yuki outperformed him. Yuki deserved the chance. BUT Yuki is not a Redbull driver. He is a Honda driver. He has no loyalty to Redbull and that is why he did not get a chance next to Max. It's not that he didn't deserve it. It's pure business.
Redbull are ending their relationship with Honda. They are creating their own engines. It's likely seen as a big liability to Redbull to have Yuki actively involved in any tests or even near anything involving the 2026 engine.
This is not an attack on Yuki or his character or anything like that, so please do not take it that way. But, Yuki's loyalty to a different engine manufacturer is a major risk to any new manufacturer like the Ford/Redbull powertrain. You just never know. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a good drive, but Yuki's loyalty will forever be to Honda (as it should) and that poses a lot of risks for Redbull.
Once again, I am not commenting on Yuki's character or making assumptions about him when I say this, but there are a lot of big concerns if he gets promoted. He could ditch them for Aston immediately because Honda asks, he could share information about the new engine to Honda, or he could give questionable feedback that negatively impacts the new powertrain. Maybe he wouldn't do these things. But if there's even the most miniscule potential that he could, it would make any team hesitant. F1 is rampant with cheating allegations and questionable tactics to win. The teams will want to protect themselves in any eventuality. And that is what's working against Yuki so greatly.
Yuki has proven to be a very competent driver over the past year, but let's not forget that he nearly lost his seat in 2023 and the rumored reason he stayed is due to Honda. He owes his career to Honda, not Redbull. And at the end of the day, that's his main flaw within this team. It's not his driving. It's not his temper. It's not anything else. It's purely who he is aligned to poltically in the racing world. Is that fair? No. Is that how racing works? Unfortunately, yes.

If I think about the double standard and the disparity with which the media handled Daniel in comparison to everyone else I may lose my mind.

I genuinely have nothing against Yuki whatsoever, and I know that he's absolutely been the target of some pretty racist and unfair media rhetoric during his F1 career, BUT I just can't not feel that if Daniel had said this about himself anytime over the last year/season he would've been absolutely annihilated by fans and F1 media, meanwhile Yuki says this to praise and an almost media-led campaign for him to be promoted to Red Bull 🙃😑

Red Bull picks drivers the way America elects presidents: always choosing the least qualified person for the job.
But in truth, what did we expect from a team that keeps Christian Horner-a man who was revealed to have been sexually harassing a female employee by someone dropping the text messages-around while also covering for him?
You cannot look me in the eyes and say it isn’t racism or bias when Yuki has always performed better then Liam-Yuki was faster then him in all six races Liam started in. There hasn’t been a single race where Liam beat Yuki, yet somehow after 11 races he’s more deserving of the spot? Because of his “mental fortitude feistiness?” A trait Yuki has as well?
I didn’t need a reason to hate Red Bull more, but thanks for the early Christmas gift to ring in the new season.

anyway, hello streets are saying checo is going to announce his retirement in a few hours and that it’s most definitely liam getting promoted (which, whatever, don’t even want to get into it rn 😒) but i found out earlier that apparently horner and marko aren’t even in charge of checo’s contract??? like it’s with the shareholders and that’s why they had a meeting yesterday AND that they had come to a agreement that the issues were with checo’s side of the garage including his race engineer which!!! we’ve been saying that that man dislikes checo
anywho, if checo does announce his retirement (since horner and marko can’t exact drop him) i will be the most annoying person on this app especially if they chose liam over yuki

genuinely think it is racism now bcs how does liam deserve that seat more than yuki? yuki has been out performing his teammates for forever now. why would they make him drive the post season tests, tell him they’re impressed w him and then give the seat to liam.
sure okay liam has been waiting for a long time to get his shot at F1, but he needs to build up. yuki has given his all to this team and christian horner and helmut marko would rather chose a rookie over someone who has stuck w this team.
the second driver seat at red bull comes with such insane levels of pressure. liam is not prepared. idk if christian and helmut think this is a good move for the constructors because it really is not. their car is fucked, the only reason max even won the wdc this year is only on him and his fucking insane skills. i am so upset for yuki rn he doe not deserve this.

I’m a hater to my core but it’s nice to know his friends are deff sending him all the pics and love from the popup and the race
Yeah but when those friends failed at their actual jobs, it’s kind of annoying.
