Asia Pacific 106 years ago today: Second Chinese Revolution (28 Jul 1913) https://buff.ly/2MhadrL Although military strongman Yuan Shikai had been made provisional president of the new Republic of China to preserve peace, he soon began acting more and more dictatorial, cracking down on Sun Yatsen's Nationalist Party (the Kuomintang). In 1913, Sun attempted to launch another revolution but was forced to flee to Japan. #asiapacific #history #welovehistory #welovemaps #map #1910s #20thcentury #modernhistory #1913 #chinesehistory #japanesehistory #july #july28 #kuomintang #chineserevolution #chineseempire #qingdynasty #sunyatsen #yuanshikai #warlordchina #maps #todayinhistory #historytoday #historyteacher #historybuff #historygeek #historynerd #worldhistory #cartography #geopolitics (at Wuhan, China) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0c86vgAIe9/?igshid=1x2t2xbjb6mv0

Southern Asia 107 years ago today: Chinese Revolution (13 Nov 1911) https://buff.ly/2T8kZ4y In 1910, the Chinese Empire reasserted itself and occupied Tibet. However, this would be the decadent Empire’s last triumph. All across China, revolutionary groups had formed to overthrow the regime, with one such group managing to seize power in the city of Wuchang on October 10, 1911. From there the revolution spread quickly, and, in January 1912, China was declared a republic. #southernasia #history #welovemaps #map #1910s #1911 #chinesehistory #xinhairevolution #chineserevolution #november #november13 #historyoftibet #tibetanhistory #maps #chinesenationalism #wuchang #chiangkaishek #sunyatsen #sunyixian #yuanshikai #chineseempire #historyteacher #historybuff #todayinhistory #historytoday #historygeek #historynerd #republicofchina #britishempire (at Wuhan, China) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqHNEyFA8zv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=gr3g4ur9uf7a
