Animation commission I guess...

Um... ha-ha, okay, it has been stuck in my head for the whole month, but if I will keep it any more I will explode, I need to busy my brain even more I'd like to take an animation commission. Like, a fully colored, shaded, with lightning, with in-betweens, with the clean line (and background). Up to 5 seconds depending on what you want to get I guess the price may start from 250$ and be higher or less depending on complexity of the details, character or movement (<- of course everything will be negotiated) I never took such commissions before so please be patient with me since I might spend even months ha-ha (really wanna beat this fear of taking something more complex) But I will do my best since it will be first experimental time for me 1. Payment via Boosty after acceptance of the sketch animation (very rough idea) 2. I think I can draw mostly anything (but won't 18+, guro and I can decline something if I feel like I will not like to do it) 3. You must have a reference of the character, I'm not ready to work with something that doesn't have a ref to start working right away 4. Please, properly think of what you'd like to see, I will not make 3 different rough animations of different ideas because you suddenly had another idea ;~;; 5. Note me in dms if you'd like to take commission... (I'd like to move to discord later since it's more comfortable in here) Uh... MXTX protagonists ranked by how bad their mommy/daddy issues are

Luo Binghe: absolutely nuclear level of mommy/daddy issues. this is the consequence of giving your protagonist two deadbeat dads and two dead moms, and then letting him project all those issues onto his overly indulgent teacher

Wei Wuxian: he could've had perfectly normal orphan levels of parent trauma, but what's that?? IT'S THE JIANG PARENTS WITH A STEEL CHAIR!!! the combo of fear and respect he had for Yu Ziyuan is already bad enough, but then there's also the feeling of responsibility for the Jiang siblings that they put on him, which then leads to, you know, all the Yunmeng sibling problems

Lan Wangji: this dude is so haunted by his father potentially kidnapping his mother and then locking her up and putting himself in seclusion, and this significantly shapes his relationship with Wei Wuxian. plus he took his mother's death really, really badly :(

Shen Qingqiu: he like never mentions his parents?? which is weird, but at least he's not haunted by it. however, he gets the special privilege of being the person exacerbating someone else's mommy/daddy issues. he brought this on himself. he doesn't get to walk out of a confession involving a metaphor where he'd be pregnant with his partner and act like that's normal

Xie Lian: he definitely has trauma surrounding his parents for sure, but they don't seem to have manifested as specifically mommy/daddy issues? it's just, you know. normal grief. honestly, there's so much shit going on with his trauma and baggage that he can't be defined by this one thing

Hua Cheng: does not seem to care about his parents?? at all???? he's presumably an orphan and they're probably the origin of his self worth issues, but like. in the grand scheme of things, they do not seem to be that big of a concern for him. who needs mommy issues when you have devotion to dianxia i guess

so a dunmeshi fan on Twitter pointed this out and even if it might have been meant jokingly, it started making me think a lil

sure, you could argue that he flips out more with Mithrun bc they’re trapped alone in a lower level of the dungeon with more dangerous monsters waiting to be rescued, and i’m sure that’s part of it lol, but

it also made me think abt this moment from earlier when Kabru is fighting the sea serpent, that has stuck in my mind since

why can't Kabru let himself panic? why does Kabru "have to handle it"? like OK i think the rest of his party had wiped again and it was up to him to save everyone. but beyond that...

Kabru is his party's leader, simply enough, but i can also imagine him feeling responsible for them bc the "prevent another Utaya" mission is his, and he recruited them to come along with him and help. we've also seen how they mostly defer to his decisions, think he's the best person to rule over the dungeon, etc, and with that trust comes weight and the potential to let those who trust in you down.

i'm not saying they blindly follow him or aren't competent adventurers, but there's a leader <-> follower dynamic there.

thinking back to earlier in the story, we don't really see Kabru outwardly flipping out, even when he's possibly about to get killed (like he is here). we see him smiling and keeping a cheery, approachable front around his party generally, but i think his mask extends to keeping a brave face in front of danger so the others don't get (more) alarmed, too.

as others have pointed out though, while waiting for rescue, kabumisu depend on each other to have each other's back, as equals. beyond Kabru knowing Mithrun doesn't have any desires, Kabru also doesn't have to be a leader and keep morale up in the ways he usually would.

but, yeah, we see Kabru losing it in his internal narration earlier on in the story sometimes, but not outwardly, i don't think. it's quite something to imagine that he might've been screaming internally the whole time but simply setting it aside for the good of his party members
