Golden Milk (turmeric tea) is one of my favorite cozy, feel good, tri-doshic (Ayurveda speak for 'good for most') nourishing teas. Since moving to the Middle East I'm obsessed with adding dates to everything. Before here, I use to use raisins. ๐Ÿ’› Raisins steeped in hot water and eaten after is a good natural vata constipation remedy. ๐Ÿ’ฉ Typically done before going to bed. ๐Ÿ’› Also good healthier option for the late night sweet tooth. ๐Ÿ’› My version: Almond milk Water Turmeric Cinnamon Ginger (raw or dried) Raisins or dates...heck, or both Coconut oil ๐Ÿ’› Directions: -find the mug you're going to drink out of. -fill 1/2 with almond milk. 1/2 with water. -empty into pot -add turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and dates/raisins -i don't measure. This is all by preference, taste, and for me color. It will have this beautiful golden color. I also like the taste of turmeric so use more than most. -ok, ok all you measuring types. It's about 1 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1-2 slices ginger, 1/8tsp dried ginger, 3 dates/small handful of raisins. -bring to boil...don't let it overflow...what a mess! - pour into your beloved mug. -add small scoop (1tsp of coconut oil) -smile with giddiness -enjoy when cooled ๐Ÿค— ๐Ÿ’› Warning: coconut oil will retain heat of tea longer, so be careful not to burn your lips. ๐Ÿ™Š Also...turmeric will stain and eventually come out of counter tops, and maybe clothes if you get it washed and a stain remover on it pronto. Not advisable to have it boil over and stain the day before moving out of a rental property.
