Cole got bored at work and loves your characters questions, go! lol 1. Does Ms Liz know diner lingo? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diner_lingo) I love it so much and she seems like a perfect fit to use it. 2. Can Exscaleibur (I probably butchered his name spelling, I'm sorry) actually visit the library, or does he look too draconic (Rose called him a drake as well as a bearded dragon so wasn't sure which he is, if not both) to be seen by the non magical community? If the latter, could he wear/get a collar enchanted to act like the library wards do, and make him seem like a regular lizard to normies? I could see Beth helping with that for a challenge lol 3. We know Celine collected items. What is her favorite/weirdest item she collected? (Sorry if you already answered this, I tried checking but didn't find it) 4. What's the biggest work pet peeve for any of these lovelies: Beth (Tailor), Simon (Butcher), Abby (Uber), Rose (Librarian), Ranger (Ranger), Chloe (Spa Worker) 5. Your choice of characters - favorite pizza topping(s)? Or if you want more specific, which heathens (said lovingly, as my partner is one) put pineapple on pizza? lol
Hope you're having a great day, and thank you so much for indulging all of us! My partner has heard me ramble about your audios and characters many a time, and while they are not personally someone who enjoys ASMR RPs, they do enjoy hearing about yours! ^_^
Cole! Always enjoy answering your queries!
1- Miss Liza does know diner lingo!
2- Exscaleibur is quite literally a plain bearded dragon, nothing magical about him so he can visit the library whenever! Rose just doesn't bring him all too often in case she gets too busy to look after him, but Dear helps out with babysitting!
3- She's since moved them to an archive at a museum as an anonymous donor, but she used to have a filing cabinet full of newspaper clippings and magazines of historical discoveries that turned out to be completely wrong. She found so much joy in the discoveries of the world and how them being incorrect changed history.
4- Beth: Whenever people sit in on a person's fitting just to nitpick their body and make judgmental comments. She's tossed out multiple spouses, parents, and "friends" in her time at the shop.
Rose: Dog-earing the pages in books
Abby: People who leave their food in the back of her seat, she keeps her car so nice! It's just rude.
Simon: When people think they can return unused meat that they bought.... Yes, it happens.
Chloe: When people think they can get extra services and more expensive items if they dangle a nice tip in her face.
Ranger: Mysterious families who randomly move in and takeover an abandoned country club. And poachers.
5- Ohhh!! Heathens include: Me :) But also Ro, Chloe, Knight, Claire, and Isla.

𝕀𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨 - 𝕃'𝕫𝕖𝕥𝕥𝕒 𝕄𝕠𝕣𝕘𝕦𝕖
Tumblr media
► Name ➔  “Just call me Liz… Or come up with another epithet. People seem to like those.”
► Are you single ➔ “What kind of question is that..? I dont like this interview… Who are you again?”
► Are you happy ➔   “…Why do I feel like you just want to take that away from me? … Sorry if Im wrong, but, this? …This is a weird way to start an interview.”
► Are you angry? ➔   “No. Again, sorry, if I come out like that. What’s the point in being angry anyway? It wont change the outcome… More often, it just makes it worse...”
► Are your parents still married ➔  “No, my mom cut her ties to the bastard when she found out he’s been cheating on her. And poor thing couldn’t even take it like a man… Then again… In my experience, men tend to take the easy card out. Or torment those they know cant fight back… Disgusting.”
NINE FACTS
► Birth Place ➔ “A traveling caravan in Thanalan, on its way to Shroud, or so I was told.”
► Hair Color ➔ “Used to be black, like my mother’s, but I colored it… Now its purple.”
► Eye Color ➔ “… Metallic red. The only good thing I got from my dad… And even with that, he only gave me one… The other one is foggy and blind. Been since I was born. No heroic tale behind it.”
► Birthday ➔  “ 31st Sun of the 2nd Astral Moon”
► Mood ➔   “… Lonely. My customers are… not too talkative, really. Great listeners they are tough. And longing, maybe? I miss someone very dear to me… We will see again soon though.. We are going East.”
► Gender ➔  “Female. How does this matter to you anyway?”
► Summer or winter ➔ “I like summer. But then again, winter graves are very much calming. And I would love to see the towers of Ishgard one day… They say its always cold in Coerthas.”
► Morning or afternoon ➔ “I’ll say evening… We good?”
EIGHT THINGS ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE
► Are you in love ➔ “… Excuse me? S… Seriously, w.. what games are you playing. Me? In love? Uhhh… L.. Love is a strong word.. M.. Maybe? …What? Is it so hard to believe?”
► Do you believe in love at first sight ➔ “Sounds like a fairytale, but it may occur once in a blue moon… B.. But basically no. I do not.”
► Who ended your last relationship ➔ “I have only had one. So I could say Death did. But death is… a temporary thing..”
► Have you ever broken someone’s heart ➔  “Not to my knowing. You see… I have never been the first choise for people, when it comes for romantic interest. Except for my dear Zole, I guess. For her… I was the first choise.. Its one thing that made her special.”
► Are you afraid of commitments ➔ “Like… Overall, or are we still talking about lovey-dovey things? Yes! No? …Maybe.”
► Have you hugged someone within the last week? ➔ “Yes. …What? N..Need a picture for a proof or something?”
► Have you ever had a secret admirer ➔ “Hard to believe, but who knows? Its as… unlikely as a snowstorm in Sagolii though…”
► Have you ever broken your own heart? ➔ “Yes. Does this even require further explanation? I just told you about my late wife’s passing..”
SIX CHOICES
► Love or lust ➔ “Love. Without love, we are lost. Without love, the lust is empty. Too often people… seem to mistake lust for love though… And that… It never ends well.”
► Lemonade or iced tea ➔ “Iced tea, I guess. I like warm drinks more though… Can I say coffee? Black… Bit of vanilla sugar.”
► Cats or Dogs ➔ “Cats. Im not a dog person. Im little bit afraid of dogs. Got bitten by one when I was young. He was just playing, but still. … Also, I have a pet cat… He’s very dear to me. And only man I ever need in my life.”
► A few best friends or many regular friends ➔ “Well, either is better than no friends, right? Few best friends, I guess… Im not… I dont enjoy crowded places, thats all.”
► Wild night out or romantic night in ➔ “I prefer romantic night in. Some good food… beautiful music, candles.. A bath.. maybe rose petals floating in the tub.. Just hanging around, wearing a bathrobe.. or nothing. Maybe chocolate and strawberries! Like.. for eating. Not to wear them… Then again.. why not? … One can dream, though? Yes? I.. dont know how that would work in reality though… I guess it would just be awkward..”
► Day or night ➔ “Even though I am a Seeker, I prefer night. The air feels fresh and everything is quiet.”
FIVE HAVE YOU EVERS
► Been caught sneaking out ➔ “Had a habit to sneak out when I still traveled with the caravan.. My… My mom kept telling me nights are for sleeping… But I dont know. I.. I really enjoy going out at night. Sometimes I got caught… But I learned to be more careful..”
► Fallen down/up the stairs ➔ “… From what reality are you coming from, if falling up the stairs is a thing for you? When you fall, you go down. There is no such a thing as an uplifting fall. You just fall down.. And land miserably on your face. … So have I? Yes. Got pushed down the stairs though, so… Its not kinda my fault. Or is it? …I guess it may just be.”
► Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? ➔ “…Yes. … And yeah, thats all you gonna get.”
► Wanted to disappear ➔ “… Countless times, when I was in my teens… Oh, how I did wish I could just turn invisible… Or just disappear completely.. Can.. Can we talk about something else? This is making me uncomfortable.. …Or wait. Was that your plan all along..?”
FOUR PREFERENCES
► Smile or eyes ➔ “… You know you can smile with your eyes? … Eyes. Eyes will show you all the emotions. In some eyes, you see nothing though… Stay away from people with such eyes.”
► Shorter or Taller ➔ “Im not… very tall myself… I think I like taller.. My Zole was a roegadyn.. She… She could just carry me around on her shoulder.. Up until… Yeah. My Xue is also a little bit taller than me.. I mean! … I mean, Xue. She’s not.. mine… I mean… Can we go on?”
► Intelligence or Attraction ➔  “… I… I think you basically need bit of both for it to work… On like… relationship level..”
► Hook-up or Relationship ➔ “… I have no experience of hook-ups… So I guess its relationship... Even though, I hardly have experience of those either... But the whole idea of hook-up… just sounds unnerving. How can you just put your trust on a person like that?”
FAMILY
► Do you and your family get along ➔  “Yes. Me and mom do. I visit her time to time. …Its been a while though… Maybe I should pay her a visit.. Maybe with…”, she covers her mouth with a palm, a rosy blush rising on her cheeks.
► Would you say you have a “messed up life” ➔ “Yes. Its not my fault though. People just seem to love to mess with me… If it was for me, I would just like to… live.”
► Have you ever ran away from home ➔ “Yes. I did when I was in my teens. Did not get far though. My… heart started to act up, as I ran, and I almost died… Mom was so mad at me.”
► Have you ever gotten kicked out ➔ “From home? No… I got kicked out from a band of hunters though… I used to work for them as a medic… Until.. Well, things happened… For some reason, they still see it right to torment me though.”
FRIENDS
► Do you secretly hate one of your friends ➔ “… One… of my friends? Y.. You know.. If I did hate her, I would basically hate all my friends.”
► Do you consider all of your friends good friends ➔ “Okai, now.. Now you are just trying to make me feel miserable. Are we done with this? B..Because I am.”
► Who is your best friend ➔ “… You know… I think I was right about this from the beginning… You just try to dig some information out of me, so you can take away the few things I still care for. Well, t…thats not gonna happen. L…Leave me alone…”
► Who knows everything about you ➔ “…Well, you dont… You dont know anything about me…”

3-8? 27 and 28
From the d&d asks, here.
3. What two feats would you have? Me as a person? I’d like observant and prodigy. Eavesdropping? Being Super Good at something? Yes please.
4. What has been your favorite character you’ve played? My favorite character to play has for sure been Maz, my shifter ranger (and rogue/cleric) in my main campaign. She is the Mom Friend, and she is armed with Anxiety, a Longbow, Love for her Friends and a Cool Raccoon. That being said, I have really loved playing my oneshot characters, Markus (full name too damn long), the human storm sorcerer, and Liz, the human gunslinger.
5. Which of your characters has been the most like you? Maz is probably the most like me, for better or for worse. Mostly for better. That being said, Maz’s issues and Mom Friend Tendencies are much stronger than mine. And she’s much more easily stressed out.
6. Which of your characters has been the least like you? Uhhhh probably Markus? Though I’m tempted to say Liz. But Markus is a charismatic, pretentious, dumbass sorcerer who cares a lot about politics and social standing. And also lightning.
7. How do you go about making a character or NPC? Oh, that’s kinda tough? Sometimes I have a vague idea? Like with Maz, I had the idea that I wanted to play with the idea of living on the borders of things, kind of going between the city and the wilderness, and her character, as a ranger/rogue who mostly serves as a guide for people as they travel across these sort of border spaces. Or at least, that was the original idea. I’ve stuck to some of the themes of that, and built on them, taking the idea of borders and moving from physical borders to more abstract ones, like the border between life and death, and picking up a level as a grave cleric. Things change from how you expect, especially for a character I’ve had for over a year, and the way the campaign is shaping up. For the one shot characters like Liz and Markus, I rolled some things on the random event tables, and then built their stories from there. Less went into it, but it was just as fun in a different way.
8. What is the most memorable natural 20 you’ve ever experienced? Uhhhh this is actually tricky because I tend not to remember my nat 20s because they’re usually on skill checks and rarely that interesting. But Maz, my -1 charisma ranger, did manage to convince the owner of a casino that her raccoon animal companion was an “emotional support cat” with a rare nat 20 deception role.
27. If you could cast one spell from d&d, what would it be?  Uhhhh I think comprehend languages or tongues would be cool. I’d always like to know more languages. I know that’s sort of a boring answer. Um. Misty Step would be neat. Wait. You know what? I take it back. Transport via plants. Done. Is it practical? Eh. Is it cool? Yes.
28. What is the most memorable natural one you’ve experienced? Ah, so. Poor Maz. So you see, we stepped out of this hidden staircase into a room full of enemy cultists (like you do). And no one was saying anything, and they were about to attack. So I had Maz speak up and say “Uh, we were in the area, and wanted to know more about your organization?” You know. Like how you interact with cults. Nat 1 deception. Needless to say, they did not believe I was trying to be recruited.
Alternate answer to 28: Maz’s nat 1 intelligence check to identify a unicorn. So, to her, it was a “very fancy horse”.

Werewolf AU : 03. Laughter and tears I
I will be post new chapter and refresh my Masterlist every Monday 😇
Have a nice week everyone 🙌
****************
"Melamory, what happened, I do not understand, explain it to me again." Her mother was insisting on knowing everything.
"Mom, I told you, nothing happened, they just scared me, I saw those men and I got a little scared. Because they were strange and unknown people, and besides, you told me to use a whistle, right? "
"Yes, and I'm glad you used it." She hugged Melamory and kissed her forehead.
"Teo, have you called the forest guards?" she asked her husband
"Yes, I've talked to them and I've told them what happened, they're going to send a patrol car to check the area and look for evidence of the poachers."
"Well, I hope they catch  those bastards."
"Liz, do not swear in the presence of our daughter, you give her a bad example," Teo looked at his wife with a serious face, but into his eyes were sparks of a smile.
"This is not a swear word, it’s their name, hmm..  Mory, sweetie, you can not say these words, not yet .."
"Very educational, Liz, a tip of your style helps a lot in the education of our daughter." Teo rolled his eyes.
They stayed in the small cabin that was there, her parents had to finish their work, so this weekend they would be there.
Mory had school days off for summer vacations, so she also had many plans to have fun and explore everything she had around her.
After dinner, her parents were discussing their work plans. She came out on the porch with headphones listening to the music and a cup of tea, she settled into a hanging chair of ratan that was in the porch.
Melamory was listening to the music, but her thoughts were on the wolf that she saw that afternoon. She never saw a wild animal so close, but she did not feel fear, it was just curiosity and a desire to save the poor animal.
"Will the wolf be in the cave? Or will it have gone away? I hope to see that wolf again someday ..."
She stayed there looking at the forest, it was late and in the sky she could see the stars, still not very clear. The sun was descending behind the horizon little by little.
Suddenly she felt a chill, as if someone was staring at her.
Melamory got up from the chair and looked at the forest searching for someone there, but there was no one or so it seemed, she took off the headphones, everything was quiet, she could only hear the sound of the leaves of the trees whispering in the soft breeze.
But the feeling that someone was watching her persisted, she thought for a moment and then went inside the cabin.
She went to the kitchen and made some sandwiches, one with the chicken and the other with the ham and then she went back outside.
She waited a few moments on the porch, looking at the forest, then she went down the stairs and left on top of a napkin two sandwiches ...
"I hope that is not my imaginations ..." she thought and then she went inside the cabin ..
The next morning Mory woke up very early and the first thing she did was to go outside and check if the sandwiches were still there, for her surprise there was no sign of them.
She jumped of joy and then she stayed put, looked around and then ran on her tiptoes into the cabin.
After breakfast, some rangers arrived in a patrol car. Melamory's father went outside to talk to them and she came out on the porch to hear what they were talking about.
"Melamory, do you know that curiosity killed the cat?" Her mother asked from the entrance of the cabin.
"But mom, I want to know what happens ..."
"Do not be so impatient, your father will tell us later everything we need to know, just wait a little longer."
Her mother approached and hugged her, put her chin on top of Melamory´s head.
"Are you okay, sweetie? Are you having fun here? Or could it be better for you to go to your aunt Nell's house?"
"I am fine mom, and I do not want to go to aunt Nell's house, I'm happy here, with you and with dad and I have a lot of fun exploring the forest."
"But I'm worried you have no friends here, don't you feel alone?"
"No, I'm fine, don’t worry about this, I have friends at school, but here I like to be alone, and I have friends among animals ..."
"Friends? Animals?"
"Yeah, hmm..Bob, it's a carpenter bird, then Boomer is a raccoon, and then Tic and Tac the squirrels .."
"Agreed..ha ha ha..honey you're something .." her mother hugged her tight, "I love you."
"I love you too, mom."
The rangers left and her father returned to the cabin.
"What did they say to you  dear, something happened?"
"Not exactly Liz, they did not find yesterday's men, and there weren't any indications that they were hunting animals, but today and tomorrow forest rangers will patrol the area regularly just in case."
"Well it's good news, we can be calmer, especially for our girl, I hope it will not be anything serious."
"I also expect this, Liz, but for now Melamory I want you to be close to us, do not go far looking for  adventures, are you understanding me daughter?"
"Yes, dad, but I ..."
"No buts, for now you will be with us, you will help your mother with the cameras and then we’ll see .."
"Okay ..."  Melamory sighed, arguing with her father was useless ..
Melamory was looking through the lens of a photo camera, the nest of the eagles seemed to be very close, she could see the feathers encrypted in the branches of the nest, and two large eggs, the future eagles that were about to hatch.
Melamory was a bit bored, not being able to get far from viewpoint, but she promised her parents not to go far, but she was not going very far just to take some pictures of the surroundings.
She went down the road and was taking pictures of the trees and birds posing on top of some wild blackberry bushes.
Suddenly she caught with her lens a white animal, which was on top of a rock, her heart began to beat faster.
"The white wolf ... is here ... I have to get closer a little, one more ..." she started walking slowly, looking at the wolf through the lens, but looking like that, she didn’t see a ravine that was just below and she fell there ..
She hit her knee when she fell and let go of the camera, the ravine was not very deep, but deep down it was covered in water and mud.
"Ouch, my god ... my camera ..." she started looking for the camera, but in the grass and the fallen branches of the trees she couldn't find it.
Her eyes filled with tears, she let out a few sobs, but then wiped the tears with her hand and opened them up with the determination of looking for the camera.
Her boots, knees and dress were stained with mud and dry leaves, but she kept looking for the camera, then she sat on a tree branch.
"Where is …, God ... I cannot believe that I'm this silly ..." a noise unleashed her from her thoughts, she looked up and froze, on the edge of the ravine was the wolf watching her, it was laying looking at her, its crimson eyes were following her with curiosity, then it shook its head ..
"Don't you dare to make fun of me ..."  said Melamory addressing the wolf  "It's not funny, go laugh at the other side .."
The wolf bowed its head looking at her ..
"Okay, you can laugh .. I'm leaving .." she got up and started to get out of the ravine on a flat and less steep side ..
"Melamory !!! For God's sake !!! What happened to you? You look like a little pig after a mud bath ..." Her mother was looking at her trying to stop her  lauther rushing out.
"Do not laugh, mom, it's not funny ..."
"Well, for you I’m sure it's not ... hahaha.. Teo look at this beauty and bring the camera to capture this unforgettable moment."
"Liz, what are you talking about…? oh..what ..." her father stopped looking at the Melamory.
"Wonderful, is it a new type of camouflage? ..." her father was smiling.
"Yes, it is, I'm leaving, and you can laugh all you want, you're all the same .." Melamory went in the direction of the cabin angrily ..
"We’re all the same?" Her parents looked at each other "She’s angry," said Liz
"Do not worry, this fast anger is going to end, then everything will be fine."
"I'm going to the cabin with her, let's see what happened?" Liz went after Melamory.
Melamory was angry, first because she couldn't find the camera, and second because the wolf was laughing at her, she was sure of it, and lastly her parents also laughed at her.
"Okay, I'm ridiculous and I'm clumsy and I'm a fool.." her tears began to fall again.
"Honey, wait, wait for me," she heard her mother's voice.
Liz reached Melamory on the way.
"Honey, don't get mad, let's go to the cabin, you'll take a bath and then we'll have a tea with sweets, okay?" she wiped away her daughter's tears. "Do not cry, my sweet cake, come on."
After taking a bath and calming down a bit, Melamory came out of the bathroom, she felt a little better. Her mother was in the kitchen preparing tea and cutting a lemon biscuit.
"Here you are, well, take, it’s for you." she put a cup of tea in front of Melamory and a plate with a piece of biscuit. "Do you feel better?"
"Yes, I'm fine ... I'm sorry .."
"Do not apologize, you didn't do anything bad .."
"Yes, I did ... I lost my camera when I fell ... I couldn’t find it ..." Melamory was looking at the cup that she held with both hands.
"Oh, honey, do not worry, tomorrow we can go together and look for it, I'm sure we'll find it.
Okay? Do not cry anymore ok? " Liz stroked her daughter's head " The most important thing is that you did not hurt yourself, the rest does not matter. "
Melamory hugged her mother hiding her face.
"Now go to rest, I'm going back to your father, try to get some sleep, okay?"
"Okay.."
Melamory lay on the couch in front of the TV, trying to follow the show that was on the screen, but her eyes closed and she fell asleep ..
When she woke up on TV it was the same show as before.
"How long has it been since I fell asleep?" She looked at the clock on the wall, only spent two hours.
She got up from the couch and went to the kitchen to get some water, suddenly the walkie talkie, which was at the base in the kitchen, woke up with the voice of Melamory's mother.
"The queen mother calls the castle, the queen mother calls the castle."
Melamory pulled the trigger to answer.
"The guard of the castle responding to the queen mother, the guard of the castle responding to the queen mother."
"Honey we will be late, the eggs of eagles are about to hatch, and it is an important moment for research..over."
"Don't worry, I'll be in the cabin watching TV ... over."
"Ok, don’t forget dinner, eat something, kiss for you ..over.”
"Ok, be careful, I love you both ... over."
Melamory put the walkie talkie in the base and sighed.
She knew it perfectly and this was not a surprise, when they were working it could last a long time, because they would be absorbed in their investigation.
She made some sandwiches and took out a bottle of red fruit soda.
"Dinner time .."
She put everything in a tray and went out on the porch, sat on the first step of the entrance staircase, put the tray next to her and grabbed a sandwich. But the sandwich stopped in the middle way of her mouth. Because she saw it, the wolf that was sitting a few meters from the porch.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
The wolf got up and came a little closer and sat again looking at Melamory.
"No No No, go away, I don't want to see you ... I'm angry ..."
The wolf moved its tail ..
"You're a very bad wolf, you were laughing at me, I'm sure you were laughing .."The wolf shook its head ..
"Ah, you say no ... well, I don’t believe you ..."
The wolf got up and went to the forest ..
Melamory was watching it go away.
It disappeared behind the bushes.
Melamory sighed, but she was still a little angry.
Suddenly the wolf came back and went directly to the porch and released the photo camera from its mouth on the grass next to the stairs, then sat down and looked at the Melamory.
"Oh ... seriously, how did you find it?" she went down the stairs and took the camera in her hands, it was dirty but it wasn’t broken.
Melamory was jumping out of joy, and then she pounced on the wolf and hugged him tightly, she didn't think at that moment that it was a wild animal or anything like that.
The wolf was still, only the tail moved.
"Oh ... I'm sorry ..." she pulled away from the animal. "You're not going to bite me … are you?
The wolf looked away ...
"Thanks for returning the camera, it's very important for me, it's a gift from my parents for my birthday." She was looking directly into the wolf's eyes.
"Oh, right, are you hungry? Do you want a sandwich?" She took the tray and put it in front of the wolf.
"Here you have it, good wolf." She was smiling.

We gather here because our discovery and understanding of the life and times of Harriet tubman continues to be revealed and continues to inspire us and with that I am pleased to present our first speaker Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford, the lieutenant governor is someone uh we have gotten to know at the Maryland park service. Our staff has welcomed him to dozens of state parks as he continues his, what I like to call is odyssey to visit all of the state parks in Maryland and promote them most recently. Last week when he kicked off our first ever state parks week. Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford was elected to office with governor Larry Hogan in 2014 and re elected in 2018. He is an accomplished attorney with a lifetime of experience in both public and private service, including the U. S. General Service Administration, U. S. Department of Agriculture and his secretary of the Maryland Department of General Services. In addition to his public service, he has extensive legal and business experience, including service and business and government law, information technology, sales and small and minority business development. As lieutenant governor, he has been a strong partner with Governor Hogan, leading the administration’s efforts to combat the opioid epidemic reform, burdensome regulations on job creators, uh break the cycle of poverty between family generations. And he has also led the state’s efforts to modernize procurement, improve the mental health delivery system and make Maryland a national leader in the implementation of the federal opportunity zones program. The lieutenant governor attended the dedication of the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad State Park in 2017 and joins us today for this momentous occasion. Please welcome Lieutenant Governor Rutherford. Good morning and thank you Superintendent uh, Latina. Every time I hear that bio, I feel older and older every day. But you know, it’s a beautiful day here. Uh, it’s always beautiful day on the eastern shore. And so it’s great to be here at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historic Park here in Dorchester County. And it brings me great joy to highlight a historic fine that that takes, that took a significant investment on the part of the state of Maryland. Our federal partners, historians and others who seek to preserve our, our history for the last year, archaeologists at the State Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration have searched the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge for a site where Harriet Tubman’s father, Ben Ross, once lived in november. They found signs that indicated that they were on the right track and a breakthrough occurred in March, Archaeologists uncovered evidence of a home site and its historic artifacts dating back to the early 1800s, early to mid 1800s. Today, I’m excited to announce that our archaeologists have confirmed that this site was once the home of Ben Ross and may have been where Harriet Tubman spent her early years. I want to share a little more about what we have learned about Ben Ross and his life on the eastern shore of Maryland. For several years. We believe that mr ross harvested trees on the property and sold the timber and the timber was then transported two shipyards by free Black Mariners to use to make ships in Baltimore. Harriet Tubman worked alongside her father as a teenager and historians believe that Tubman learned to navigate the land and waterways she would later traverse to lead enslaved people to freedom. The discovery of Ben rosters. Cabinet is a major fine and I’m proud that julie Schablitsky and her team of archaeologists at the Maryland Department of Transportation, we’re able to use their hard work and dedication to make this project a reality. And yes, the Department of Transportation does have archaeologists on staff and they are scientists who lend their expertise and planning in planning infrastructure in order to avoid disturbing structures, cemeteries and other significant historic areas. In that process. Their commitment to their work is illustrated by their willingness to brave the elements and other obstacles to preserve the nation’s history. And the State Department of Transportation also supports archaeological projects that chronicle how transportation systems and communities have evolved over time so that we can share those stories with the public and save precious remnants of our history. Maryland is full of history from the mountains of western Maryland to the beaches of the eastern shore. The addition of Ben Ross’s homesite to the Harriet Tubman by way, will bring a boost to Dor Dorchester County visitors and historical significance to this area. This discovery adds to another puzzle piece in the story of Harriet tubman, the state of Maryland and our nation. It is important that we continue to uncover parts of our history that we can learn from, especially when we can do this before time and other forces wash it away. I hope that this latest success story can inspire similar efforts and help strengthen our partnerships in the future. Thank you very much. Yeah, thank you. Lieutenant Governor. Our next speaker is a valued partner of the Harriet tubman Underground Railroad State Park and National Historical Park Marcia up ratings. Marcia is the project leader of the Chesapeake Marshlands National Wildlife Refuge complex with the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Since joining us on the Eastern Shore five years ago, she has focused on strengthening relationships with the community, helping new audiences engage with the outdoors through programs like mentored hunts and finding the connections between people and wildlife that make conservation successful. Please welcome Miss Marcia proteins. Thank you so much, Nita and thank you everybody for joining us here today. Yes, shocking. I was going to make some joke but I decided not to Thank you when I first started here. Not quite five years ago, I was so excited about the prospects ahead of me. Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is a magnet for residents all over the Maryland, D. C. Virginia area and even all over the globe. We have 30,000 acres of wildlife habitat that attract people as well as wildlife. But I was most excited about the potential to invite new audiences to the refuge to learn how conservation is valuable, not only to wildlife but also to people history, into the landscape that made us all who we are today. The future of conservation lies in the hands of people and it must have value to everyone when we can serve habitat. We also conserve the stories of those who came before us, like Harriet Tubman’s father, Ben Ross, and all the others whose names we may never ever hear about. And that worked alongside of him in the marshes and the forests of the refuge with the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitors Center is our immediate neighbour. We have an opportunity to welcome even more people and to do more together than any of us could do alone. The Peters Neck property has been an extremely important piece for the refuge to acquire ever since. Our comprehensive conservation plan was first written all the way back in 2000 and six, With rising sea levels, increased storms, loss of habitat, its value to us only increased. The area is predicted to naturally convert to marsh, with parts remaining forested all the way into the year 20 100. The 2600 acre parcel was bought for $6 million dollars, But not with taxpayer dollars. It was bought by dollars from those waterfowl hunters and birders who bought the federal duck stamp for only $25 each, and offshore oil and gas leases from the land and water conservation fund. So this is a major investment in conservation and outdoor recreation right here in Dorchester County. But we also heard that perhaps just perhaps Ben Ross’s Homestead might be on the parcel, we weren’t sure. But with that in mind, before we even stepped onto the property, we began discussions about what to do next with the state park and with the National Park Service, Thankfully, Maryland stepped up to meet the very first challenge before us to begin the search for what they call Ben’s 10. I don’t think they knew what they were getting into here with our outrageous mosquitoes that call us home. Yes, the relentless flooding from rain and tied. Yes. And the mud that results, we can’t thank them enough for their hard work and their dedication in the field. All of those weeks in october and then again in april In less than one year from when we purchased the site. The crew has indeed found Ben’s 10. And just in time as the river rises, invaluable, bits of the story were about to be lost forever. What happens next is just as exciting, but we need a team to make it reality. We opened the parcel to hunting already, but before doing so we set aside a potential trail system for interpretation with the help of our partners. Should we be able to secure path forward to improve the roads to the area for the public hand in hand with our partners in Maryland, Department of Natural Resources and the National Park Service. We have a big vision that we’re excited to find a way to fulfill for conservation of our natural and cultural resources. When land is treated well, it is many values including wildlife and fish, habitat, sustainable timber, storm buffers, water quality, soil, health, recreation and even history. And when it comes to cultural history. This land has rich stories to tell from the native americans who first walked here harvesting from the woods in the river to Ben ross, teaching his daughter how to manage timber or even fred Bensley Maryland’s first state forester who owned this land and stayed in his family up until the point that we required it. We want to honor those stories And help create new stories from a refuge hunter who hears a sick of bugle before dawn in October two. A birdwatcher hiking the trail that we plan to bill perhaps hearing their very first pine warbler in spring or a family that comes to visit to immerse themselves in what the landscape was like when Harriet tubman was growing into the strong woman, she was to become Together, we will nurture all of these stories yet to be written. Thank you. Yeah. Okay. thank you Marcia. I was sitting there listening to your remarks and the birds uh surrounding us. I could hear eagles. Uh we are so fortunate to be surrounded by your your refuge. So thank you for your conservation service. It is now my pleasure to introduce dr Shuli julie Schablitsky, Otherwise known as I understand it very fondly by her colleagues. As Dr julie. She is the chief archaeologist at the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration. She is noted for her Maryland research on african american sites and the recovery of D. N. A from artifacts. In her role, she oversees archaeologists and architectural historians who managed projects for the Department of Transportation as well as local governments. Uh We recently partnered with the Maryland Department of Transportation and dr julie on several archaeology projects, including most recently at Newtown Next State Park, which is in southern Maryland, where dr Schablitsky is. Recent archaeological survey discovered a 300 year old slave quarters on a former Jesuit plantation that is part of Newtown Next state Park. And the lieutenant Governor and the Secretary and myself had an opportunity to meet you there and see the artifacts, some of the artifacts she recovered. Um It is really my pleasure to welcome dr julie Schablitsky whose work has made today possible. Thank you. Okay, thank you. So right before Covid hit, I got this call from Marcia and she said we just aren’t going to be being going to acquire some property that may have Ben’s 10 on it. And I asked I said what’s Ben’s 10? And she said, well it’s where Harriet tubman’s father lived and we believe that it could be in this location that we found. But we’re not sure. And I said all right, you know, this sounds like a great opportunity. We could, if we find it, put it on the heritage and underground railroad. By way, it would be a great way to share it with the public because that’s what we do. We have a stewardship program at m dot that also we have the ability to share it with the public. So we plan to going out in March. But of course everything shut down. And finally, in august the hottest time of the year and the worst time to be in a swamp is the time we decided to all gather together. So, so Marcia ratings, Ray Patera, um, dana terra, Deana Mitchell in my archaeology colleague and and um partner in Crime Aaron Leventhal. We all met out there and Peter’s neck with our mosquito netting on and our rubber boots to our knees in our four wheel drive vehicles. And we went out there when we began to look at the property and its wooded. It’s very wet, it’s very buggy. And I I was inspired. I thought, you know, we can find this if it’s here, we’re going to find it. And they’re like, yeah, that’s the spirit. But then in the back of my head I’m like, I don’t know, it’s really wet and you know when you dig holes, it’s muddy and you have to push all that that stuff through those screens, looking for little bits of broken things. You know, how can we possibly find this site? But we decided to do it anyway. So um trials in hand shovels at our side, rubber boots on. We decided to go out in november of last year. So How do we know where to even begin? Well, we know that in 1836, Anthony Thompson’s will and he was a person who enslaved Ben Ross. He put in there. That and five years from his death that that Ben would be monumental, freed and be given 10 acres. So that’s where you get that. Ben’s 10. So those 10 acres or where he was supposed to live, but where in this place? Would would it be? Not only with the will, but also some land deeds over time began to mention old bends place alongside the road in this location by the water and putting those clues together, we had a search area and within that search area we began to bring a dozen archaeologist along the roadways and dig hole after hole after hole after 1000 holes, I was getting a little frustrated. I’m like, where is this place? And then I thought, well, I have one more tool in my toolkit and that’s a military doctor. I’m gonna go and see if I can go out and find perhaps nails that are social with a building. So within five minutes I’m jumping inside the road with my mellow detector. I got this beep beep beep and I and I dug it out and it looked like a shock. I thought this was a shotgun shell signature. But no and I dug. And what came up was this coin from 1808, A 50 Cent Liberty, ironically had 50 cent piece. And this to me was my clue that we’re getting close 1808 was Ben Ross and rick Green. Harriet’s parents date that they were married and began their family. So I thought alright we’re gonna keep going. So we got to the end near the road and began to find little broken bits of ceramics. These are the calling cards to the archaeologist that you’re getting two something old, something important. But guess what? We found this in the last few days of the project, We ran out of time, ran out of money and our time was up. But we were inspired to come back yet again. So we came back last month with more archaeologists in tow and with our rubber boots and it wasn’t quite as wet and the bugs still weren’t out. And so we had, we felt inspired. So we went out to the location and began to to our little small holes that we used to find sites began to be dug larger sites, five ft by five ft units and each unit that we dug revealed more and more information artifacts dating to the first half of the 19th century because that’s what we’re looking for. But we also want to know, not only do we have a domestic site where someone live, but where is the building? Where is the home? Where’s the cabin? And what would that look like? Well, luckily enough, in fact, there’s a brick right there. That’s from Ben Ross’s cabin. He probably had a building set on brick piers. And within that associated with that site, we’re finding drawer pulls from his bureau. We’re finding a button from his shirt. We’re finding pipe bowls and pipe stems from what he smoked all that in this location. But was it old enough? Ben was there in 1830s 1840s. So we looked at the artifacts closer and confirm that these artifacts due date to the time period he was living there. So how do we know that? We have it? How are we? Sure. Well, we looked everywhere. We could with that search here. And the only thing, Only space that told us that this could be at something from the early 19th century is where the place that we have found. So with that, with the artifacts, the archaeology, the evidence of a building and just the location. Knowing he worked in in the timber wetlands. Those multiple lines of evidence tell us unequivocally that this is the home of Ben Ross. So why is this find important? Well, as someone who knows something about Harriet tubman, um I always thought, well, is this everything we’re ever going to learn? How do we learn more? And sometimes the answer is archaeology. When we’re able to find an extra sites, additional sites out of their people who inspired her, who gave that lesson of integrity and perseverance. Like her father, It’s not only it takes her kind of in a situation and puts her as a daughter as a child, as someone who is standing on the shoulder of a giant her father. And I think that kind of gives us that um excitement that we can learn more about Harriet tubman through her, her parents. We can learn more about the people who taught her how to navigate, negotiate through places like wetlands and woods. So I think that’s what’s important. We have also just begin to excavate that location. We’re keeping it private and so that no one will disturb it. But we want to return back because we want to learn more. What did, what did he eat? What did he have in his home? How big was this site? So all those questions have yet to be answered. And so we’re going to be able to learn more. Now the thing is, it’s great that archaeologists are out in this, in this marshland looking for this important site, but it means nothing if we don’t have a descendant community with us. So from the beginning we did have Herschell johnson who’s here today. He’s the local community member and historian. He was well this to help inspire us and help and have us reach out to the community. We have been able to make contact with Douglas Mitchell who’s in Washington state. Probably hopefully watching right now. He’s a descendant. He’s a great great great great grandson of Ben Ross. We also have Tina White here with us today and she’s the great great great grand niece of Harriet tubman and great great great great great grand daughter of Ben Ross. And while we’re out there every day I was sending them photographs of the things that would pop up a prettily painted piece of ceramic went through their phone for my phone to their phone. So in a way they were sitting on my shoulder, looking over my shoulder as we’re beginning to pull these things out of the earth and that is the reason we do this. It’s great for marylanders but it’s also very important that we’re in a way creating memories and giving them photographs of their family and their families items. So without thought any more talk about archaeology and I’m happy to have to answer questions later, but I’d like to introduce um Tina Wyatt, the descendant of Harriet Tubman and Ben Ross. Okay, yeah, greetings to you, Lieutenant Governor and to all those working in the Maryland State Department and it’s great to be here. I love coming down here. Um ever since that we, you know, had the opening and before we had the opening, it was just a wonderful place to be for something that occurred that was so horrific to my people. This place is so peaceful and so calm and I just love it. I love just coming standing out here and I’m just looking around and knowing that you know, this was a part of her life, the beginnings of her life and knowing that it’s and the other thing that is so wonderful about it is that it’s pretty much untouched from the time that she was here, that he was here. So we’re able to really see what she saw here, what she heard and look and just feel the environment. She embraced this environment, not her circumstances but the environment. And she learned from it. She learned from what her father had to teach her. And he also embraced that environment and made the best of it most of all I want to thank Dr julie yeah, who kept us abreast as family every step. You know, she contacted us even though we couldn’t be here and I wish I could have been here. I would have loved to have been here. Uh, but you know, safety and everything else comes first. So, uh, but she text us, she, she sent pictures as soon as it came. Uh, a parent to her. So it was, it was like, as she described as like we were right there with her, you know, the next best thing. Uh, and it means so much to the family to be able to, to see all of this. And and that’s why I want to thank the state of Maryland for having the vision and also to have to give the support to create this tourist center and also to keep funding things that that relate to it, that keep the story going and expanding because it’s so important not just for family but for, you know, the world to understand about our history, to know what happened and to, and uh, to be able to understand the differences between the different types of plantations and farms and things that existed then. And I think this is part of also what the dig that julie is doing um, shows because when she showed us the fragments of, of some of the plates, things like that. And I looked at him, I said, wow. I asked, I said, this is to me it looks highly decorative. I didn’t expect to see something like this used by enslaved people. I mean because my knowledge of seeing things were, you know, guards and wooden spoons and wooden plates, things like that. But to see that, I said, you know that, that dispels a myth, you know, how is that related, is it related to just this area uh, to this plantation? Was it related because who he was because for him to have been given 10 acres, You know, and, and, and freedom, but mostly that 10 acres, that’s something that’s not common, you know? So was it, was he using those kinds of uh, everyday utensils, uh, to be able to eat off of and use on the data because of who he was, The status that he had within the plantation. Um, we don’t know. And so that’s something that, you know, continues to be explored. And as you come up with more and more artifacts, it tells the story, it expands the story of our family, but also of telling the story of enslaved life, uh, and also afterwards for, you know, for United States and the world to be able to see. So um it also humanizes him. It makes a connection for us as a family to be able to be able to, because julie just showed me the the half dollar And I and 1808 and that’s when they were married. Uh So, you know, it helps me to visualize them getting married. Maybe they, maybe they were given that half dollar. Um and you know, it being there and then they dropped it or something like that. Um you know, making up my own story about what it was. Um And so it also tells me when, when she found the pipe, I said, oh, so he was a pipe smoker, you know, and uh, you know, so that helped me to visualize at the end of his day, did he have time to go and and sit in his cabin and uh, smoke his pipe? You know, sit down and contemplate what he was going to do next? Uh Because for for him to be a supervisor, um for the timbering, that was something unusual as well. But but but but with him being her father, I’m Harriet’s father. He taught her many valuable lessons, things that she used throughout her life, things. She used to liberate herself to liberate others, things that she used when she went down to fight in the civil war that made her so great at what she did. A lot of that came from her father and that knowledge that she uh embraced as she was growing up, no matter what her circumstances were. So, you know, I love you dr julie for being for persevering and being so determined to keep on trying to uncover uh their life story that brings it more of alive to us. Thank you Archaeologists discover homesite owned by Harriet Tubman’s father Historic artifacts date back to early to mid 1800s Updated: 11:10 AM EDT Apr 20, 2021 Archaeologists in Maryland discovered the historic homesite once owned by the father of Harriet Tubman, state officials announced Tuesday. The former home of Tubman’s father, Ben Ross, was discovered on property acquired in 2020 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as an addition to the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Dorchester County. “I am excited to announce our archaeologists have confirmed that this site was once the home of Ben Ross, and may have been where Harriet Tubman spent her early years,” Lt. I’ve only played Dungeons & Dragons once (1) in my life so I’m no expert! I’d consider my thoughts suggestions (like with my takes on the charaters’ MBTI types, which I’m not an expert of either):
Noelle as a Wizard sounds right, since she definitely can’t do anything reliant on physical strength. She would be an asshole and attempt things like building a Clone Army
AKARSHA THE BARD. Rogue sounds too cool for her
Diya: I actually want to say she’s a Ranger because the Wiki on 5th edition says “The Beast Master archetype forges a connection between civilization and beasts, allowing the character to interact with animals in certain ways including gaining an animal companion to control.“ Fighter and Knight also sound plausible though!
Min: Barbarian with high Strength and no Intelligence and Wisdom
Tumblr media
I don’t want to say too much because I want to save things for the sequel, but here’s some stuff:
She actually played against Diya in youth leagues before she transitioned. That’s why she recognizes Diya+specifically approached her to sign the baseball club form while Diya doesn’t recognize her. At the first club meeting Liz tells her “I was at one of your games when you were little” -- This is purposefully ambiguous/misleading (sounds like Liz was just watching) because she passes and doesn’t want to out herself to a bunch of club members she doesn’t know well
After transitioning she quit baseball and switched to softball. It was weird being the one trans girl on a team of cis dudes, and additionally when she was younger she sort of felt like she had to prove she was a girl; she naturally has feminine taste, but she’d overperform it by 25%. It wasn’t until she got close to Chryssa and found out she also liked baseball that she reclaimed her interest in it
She has a nice resting face so strangers tend to ask her for directions
Sunburns easily

Yesss check the FAQ guys! Fangames are fine as long as you explicitly say it’s a fangame!!
Tumblr media
I’m almost mad I didn’t think of this myself. I’m one of those people who overuses “spoopy”
Tumblr media
All art in the game (including the title screen) can be downloaded here!
Tumblr media
NO!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Noelle. The day the others find out will be the End of her
Tumblr media
Akarsha was reading some yaoi so it came up in conversation, and since Noelle had never heard of it Akarsha gleefully educated her (to Noelle’s horror). Noelle was extremely scandalized that Akarsha kept sending her inappropriate images, and Akarsha was like “i’m doing this out of the kindness of my heart! it’s for ur education!! me: Master Teacher. call me sensei”
Following this Akarsha changed her chat name to YAOI SEME as seen at the beginning of the game
Tumblr media
Diya and Noelle: Never tried it
Min: Has tried it
Akarsha: She constantly makes weed jokes but actually only does it rarely
Tumblr media
Yes, I’m planning on exploring this more in the sequel!
Tumblr media
Diya; Dee-ya. Rhymes with “See ya”
Min-seo: Korean way, but most characters like Diya pronounce it like Min-so, with the “Min” rhyming with “win” (not like “mean”). The “so” is one syllable (not like “see oh”)
Akarsha: uh-KAR-sha
Noelle: No L
Tumblr media
I was planning on making the sprites blink! I’m still a bit sad I didn’t end up doing it
Tumblr media
It’s supposed to be fall 2008 when they’re in high school, but I took a LOT of artistic liberties when it came to the references. For example, Akarsha makes a Durarara reference even though the anime didn’t come out until 2010, and there’s a lot of modern memes that ended up in there too...I couldn’t hold back...
The IGF trailer video is especially modern-day meme-wise -- since it broke the 4th wall, it was like, all bets are off. Don’t think too hard about it!
Tumblr media
I wanted to put a lot of 90s and early 00s hits in the game for the nostalgia factor, like Complicated, Rock Your Body, Dilemma, etc. I think it would’ve made the experience even more surreal for players who are around my age!

At one point Diya finds out what it means on her own. After she finds out, she uses it for the actual meaning :) (added this to the FAQ now)
Tumblr media
I can totally relate to all of them, but I’d say Diya! (added this to the FAQ now)
Tumblr media
that sounds a bit alarming
Tumblr media
(I added this to the FAQ page now, thanks for reminding me)  I’m fine with people shipping whatever!! The only thing I can think of that’d make me uncomfortable is incest and shipping Diya and Min with male characters – other than that, go nuts
Tumblr media
Oh noo im sorry, that must’ve been stressful! For those who don’t know, I chatted about my game for a few minutes last week with MEGA (a USC club I used to be in!). I’ve adapted them here with what I assume what the questions were:
1. Is that your cat on your Skype icon?
yeah it is!! it's burrito
(people think it’s a cute name)
LOL glad you guys approve
2. Was the game made in Renpy? What do you think of Renpy vs. Twine?
yep! it's made in renpy! I actually started out in twine -- twine is impossible if your game is like longer than an hour and is image heavy. the engine started lagging so bad it would take 30 secs to do anything
2. Would you eat a tiny 2 inch man for $100 million?
LOL it's hard..it's a lot of money. I don't think I would
(but you could use that money to save many more lives! utilitarianism)
it's a real dude tho! i'd feel awful for him haha it's hard when you have to physically do it LOL
3. How long did it take for you to make Butterfly Soup?
FOREVER. I thought of it in my junior year over winter break
4. Was it for school (like an assignment)?
nah! just on my own
(people saying that’s impressive)
yeah!! self motivation
5. What’s your favorite part of the game?
hmmmmM I like the "date" with min in the dream. it's so fun, with the dog park
6. Which character do you relate to the most?
diya!! social anxiety queen, so relatable
(people comment on how she runs around when anxious)
i really did that before my sat once, ran 2 miles at the school's track
7. Are you from the San Francisco Bay Area
yeah i'm from the bay! east bay
8. Which year did you first come up with Butterfly Soup?
winter 2014 i think
(people trying to calculate which year was my junior year)
i graduated a year early so junior year was also senior year
9. Are you making a sequel?
yes!! once ihave more time. i have a lot of ideas for stuff that goes after
10. Was this a prequel to Pom Gets Wi-Fi? Or maybe spiritual successor?
this is a prequel. i dunno about spiritual successor tho, they're a bit differnt
11. Any tips on how to balance schoolwork and working on personal projects?
hmm...i honestly sucked at this and could only work on it on breaks lol...if you can try to work it into your school projects, like some bit of it...
other than that i cant think of anything LOL it's hard
12. How did you organize yourself making such a long game? Any tips?
it was SUPER hard to organize, i was really lost until i split it into 4 sections with each character. so if you're planning on making a game this big definitely think about forcing yourself into sections like that
the art was the most confusing to do bc of how many assets there were. i was going to say "have consistent naming conventions" but that's literally impossible LOL it'll always become inconsistent no matter how hard u try
13. What part of the game took the longest (writing? art?)
writing, actually, despite how much i complain about art assets. it's really hard making sure the structure and themes come across correctly. like pacing is so hard. art is like #2 biggest time sink
14. How early in did you write the Akarsha/Min skateboard scene?
that came pretty late haha i put it in at last second
15. Are the characters based on real people?
they're all inspired by combinations of ppl i know! i wouldn't say based on them, tho. for example min is like a combination of 3 friends i have, strategically arranged to play her part in the story
character design is design so u still gotta be deliberate about it
16. Who’s the other cat on the computer? (they’re referring to the cat on my desktop wallpaper)
that one's maru! he's a famous japaense cat. he's super photogenic
(people speculating that he’s the “tube one”)
the tube one? probably. he's famous for going into stuff
17. What was your favorite aspect of working on the game?
definitely getting to put specific Asian-American experiences into it
i was like HAHOH i can do this and no one can stop me! it was really fun getting to do this without any creative direction from like, a studio or anything. so i could just go bonkers. i hate pitching stuff so
18. Any writing advice?
definitely have other people beta your writing as soon as possible! they always catch stuff you missed. also this is like a cheat, make your characters really extreme. like find one aspect of yourself, and turn it up to 11 and make it into a character. that way they'll be relatable and memorable at the same time. i think most people don't make their characters extreme enough so they're all kinda samey
19. (I can’t remember what they asked me here, sorry! They were asking if a specific meme was in the game)
LMAO nah it's not. i did briefly think about it though, i will admit
20. Would you eat a Gusher the size of your hand?
that would be pretty cool. i don't think i could eat it all at once tho...i would try to save it. like half
Tumblr media
You’re welcome, I’m really happy to hear it helped the game feel relatable!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you! I hope you have a good day too!!
Tumblr media
haha I feel like my game is almost propaganda bc so many people wish they had girlfriends after playing it! the agenda...Thank you for waiting for the sequel, it makes me super happy to hear people are looking forward to it!
Tumblr media
You’re welcome!! I’ll do my best!!!
Tumblr media
You’re welcome!!!! :>
Tumblr media
You’re welcome!!!

The following blog entry are intended only for mature audiences. Reader discretion is strongly advised. Although it goes without saying about three quotes in, this is neither an incendiary nor defamatory tribute to the year past, although if someone were to put together such a “tribute”, I’d completely understand. Thank you. And enjoy the show. Because you helped make it.  Ladies and gentlemen and non-binary conforming life forms across seven star systems... the Gourmet Academy’s World Famous Get Down Like a Hound Party ‘til You Puke Semi-Quotable 2020 Quotedown Quotetacular begins in five... ... four... ... three... ... two... So when I walked through those doors, I had that desire, that determination to be that very first face to give hope to those behind me who have the desire to come in here and play this game. Not seeing a face that looks like mine is very discouraging, it’s hurtful and it does make me feel like maybe it’s impossible. But I’m wrong about that because it’s definitively possible. We can do it. It just hasn’t been done yet… I want to acknowledge every African American who has walked through those doors with the same desire to be that face that I have. I see you, I salute you and I appreciate you. You came in here, you knew the odds were against you, you knew it was going to be an uphill battle and you still fought and you fought like hell. Because he's now eligible to join the Actors Guild, which means he'll have potential work when 1. RTF goes down in flames, 2. And we still don’t want to watch Quibi.” - Mike Shields (@digitalshields) “I love Peanut Butter. I love Africa.” - Bill Walton "So in the last 3 days Tom Brady has violated social distancing guidelines and broken into somebody's house. The media laughs it off. It pays to be white." - Barry McCockiner “BREAKING: I have decided to follow @James_Holzhauer on Twitter, since he’s been following me on Jeopardy all week.” - Ken Jennings “I was debating who had a worse night in Vegas — Mike Bloomberg or Deontay Wilder. I thought it was Wilder but it wasn’t. He didn’t have to show up a week later and get his ass kicked all over again. #DemDebate2020” - Jelani Cobb “What in the name of God’s ass is on Linda Dano’s head?” - Quisla “My 13 year-old self with my hero in Nov '83, Boston, MA. That’s tough.” - JJ Watt “Jeffrey Toobin gave a whole new meaning to the word “laptop.” - Gerard Mulligan “No matter how gloom things things get, there's always the future, even the United States of America used to have a future. They tried to us Americans the sky’s the limit, so we destroyed the sky. Where’s your limit now? Oh! burning with toxic poison? Suck that limit!” - Xavier: Renegade Angel “Everything good espn ever did was copied from the George Michael Sports Machine.” - @[email protected] “How is the @WWE not calling this #Wrestlemania36 In Your House?!?!” - Marty DeRosa “When people complain about "cancel culture," they very often mean: I want to live in a world in which there are abundant social and economic rewards for saying and doing certain (but not all!) controversial things, and no social and economic penalties for those same things.” - David Frum “Herb Abrams left this world doing what he loved. Plating is 5 points.” -C “They say you should spend three months income on your wife’s engagement ring. I spent June July and August from the summer that I turned 13… But in my defense it was a wet summer and I mowed a lotta grass, that should count for something.” -Brian (ladies....) “You can’t fuck with Ed Lover.” -Greg “You thought that it was bad now? Wait 25 years. Today's children are tomorrow's leaders; and they will have been have been homeschooled by day drinkers. No one needs sloppy disorganized holes or balls. #pause.” -Gordon “You know... We grew up watching Kamen Rider & Super Sentai wanting to be masked heroes. Pretty sure this isn’t what I had in mind.” -D “Some of y’all have not been chased around the house by your sibling with a knife and it shows.” -Jenna “At least it wasn't real maple syrup. Based on the bottle and consistency it appears to be maple-flavoured sugar liquid spread.” -Dane, on Gritty drinking breakfast syrup “And who decides Lacey Chabert should be the voice of love? She was hardly the voice of Meg Griffin!” -C “That is one UGLY ASS FISH!” -Cat "CBD infused deep dish pizza now available at White Sox games." -Carl “Gordon Pepper You're a psychotic Macaulay Culkin? I fear and respect you.” -Dom “Now I don’t even have to leave my home to not watch a movie.” -Kevin, on HBOMax “Fuck your widgets.” -Klauss “I told Galileo to stop working on his telescope. He’s not fooling anyone!” -Greg as Time Traveling Rip Taylor “Chris Wallace failed so badly that Mike Wallace also failed, and he’s been dead eight years.” -Kevin “Yay for fat shaming.” -Amberlee “Philip Rivers: Miami Dolphin?” -Carl “I don’t have enough black leggings for this shit.” -Shannon “You ever have shrunken beef?” -G “Phrasing.” -Aaron “You put the brain in Vibranium.” -Matt Richards “Several flaws in his argument, most notably that while he is correct that the meat in boneless chicken wings doesn’t come from the wings, neither does it come from the “tender”. And chicken nuggets aren’t made from a chicken’s... um... nuggets. That said, it is Nebraska, and this is what happens in that God forsaken state when they cancel football.” -Kevin “I never got spanked. We were very good kids growing up. Dad threatened us a different way. He reminded us as he was a famous person if we screwed up we would see it on page 6 of the ny post.” -G “God’s perfect idiot.” -Ryan Reynolds “You can’t clean house with a filthy mop.” -Kevin "Four." -Course Manager Joe translating Sir Goph to the crowd at Holey Moley. “May (Tim Tebow’s) marriage last longer than Million Dollar Mile.” -C “They were so offended, they weren’t.” -G “Meanwhile I can't choose a fuck fish...” -Kimberly “I have questions.” -Bressler “Do not insult the good name of Bowzer, damn it!” -Greg “Hiya Barbie! No Ken. He’s sold separately and I’m cutting unnecessary spending.” -Eden as Barbie “I’ll be at the bench if you need me. Please don’t need me.” -C as David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck “Fayetteville gonna Fayetteville.” -Jordan “Why you gotta go make good employees angry? You think another decent phleb is just gonna pop out of nowhere like a State Farm agent? ... 🎵 Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there! 🎵 POOF!” -C “I like my men like I like my commuter car: silent.” -Robin “The fact that I had to put "Real Email -- Not Wingo SPAM" in an email subject line tells you a lot about how I comport myself with my colleagues.” -Wingo “Savage Question Song! Y’all fucking FUCKED UP! YOU FUCKED UP! YOU GOT IT WRONG! YOU ARE DUMB! No, I’m kidding, you’re not dumb. You fucked up, it happens. That’s life.” -Matt Richards “You know, bucatini. It’s like spaghetti... with goals.” -C “Love like you’re Jesus Christ. Wash your hands like you’re Pontius Pilate.” -Brian “Show me on the tackling dummy where the illegal touching happened.” -Nikki “Get cable. Discover Disney Junior. Muppet Babies. Weird. So weird. #NotMyMuppetBabies.” -Paul  “Take the swabs. Leave the cannoli.” -C “Facetyfacetyfacetyfaaaaaaaace!” -Nikki “If you win, you may smoke it. WHEN you lose, you must eat it. Director of Medicine Belichick talks to his staff and is irate that instead of researching Vrabel-Tannehillitis, they brought him documents on Bunglaria. He punishes them by making them work on back cases and organizing them by bacteria count. In the operating room, time is not on the side of the staff as the patient is also suffering from Henry Syndrome where he rushed for 182 yards and a touchdown. To further accentuate the problems, Belichick finds out that Vrabel-Tennehillitis eats up the time left in the patient, despite his efforts to make time stand still. With time running out, Brady tries to push through his decline and makes a dangerous surgical operation. Sadly, the operation would turn to be fatal for the patient as Brady slips and cuts through vital organs and the scalpal is intercepted by the heart. The patient dies on the table and leaving both Brady and Belichick wondering if they still have what it takes in this new era of medicine. Will our dynamic duo return? find out next season...on St. Patswhere.” -Cyndi “That looks nothing like Tom Villard.” -Mike, anytime someone mentions Chris “Captain America” Evans as “America’s ass” “Okay, no no no no stop halt quit it cease desist. Coffee is everything.” -LiyaZee “in the grand scheme of things, aren't we ALL between a sex store and a crematorium?” -Chelsea “You can cancel the show. You can not. Cancel. The culture.” -Chico “Go be bitter elsewhere.” -Hannah “Happy holidays ... and you’re welcome.” -Wayne Brady.... after telling us he’s not wearing underwear. === May our collective 2021 not suck as much as this year did. Another Moment - Part 1
A/N: this is part 1 of my luke x OC series and i really hope you´ll like it <3 i would be happy to get some feedback on it!
“Ugh, does the paperwork ever stop?!”, JJ groaned as she put down her pen and leaned back in her chair.
“It´s the worst part of the job!”, Matt exclaimed at which all of his co-workers agreed.
“I need some coffee. Anyone want some too?”, Reid asked as he got up.
“I could use another cup.”, Luke said and with this, Spencer disappeared into the kitchen.
It was around 5pm and the team minus Tara and David was still at work finishing the case files and paperwork of their latest casae. They all are tired and wanted to get some rest, but the files also needed to be finished soon and they wanted to work on them as long as everything was still fresh in their minds. Just when Reid came back with the coffees and put one cup down on Luke´s desk, the ex-rangers cellphonebegan to rang. Checking who was calling, he saw that it was his daughter and it immediatley put a smile on his face. He picked up the call, happy for the distraction.
“Hey Princess!”, He greeted happily.
“D-Dad...”, he heard his daughter whimper which immediatley put im into a worried state.
“Sienna? What´s wrong?”, he asked, earning confused and concerned glances from his co-workers. Even Emily came out of her office to see what was going on.
“W-We...Mom and I....we were driving a-and then t-there was this tree a-and Mom, she´s not b-breathing and I´m scared. Dad. I-I don´t know what to do.”, the young girl cried.
“What? Okay, Sienna, princess. You need to tell me where you are. Are the medics on their way?”, Luke asked as he slowly got up, calling Garcia from his desk phone.
“I-I don´t know. Everything hurts a-and I´m feeling dizzy. You´re the first one I´m calling. We were on our way home from a school meeting, I can´t see anything. E-Everything is dar. God, Dad. I´m so scared.”, Sienna sobbed.
“Shhhh, princess. You need to calm down. Everything will be okay, do you hear me? Listen, I´ll let Garcia traack your phone and she will send you help. I´m on my way now, but we´ll meet at the hospital. I promise you, everything will be alright. You have to stay strong for Mom, okay? I love you.”, Luke tried to reassure his daughter.
“O-okay...c-can you stay on the phone with me until the medics arrive?”, the girl begged.
“Sure, just give me a second.”, he said and quickly put his phone aside, “Garcia, did you get everything?”
“Yes, Newbie. They are on the interstate in McLean, Virginia. Medics are on their way, they should be there in less than five minutes.”
“Thank you!”, he said as he hung up with the analyst.
“D-Dad....I can hear them.”, Sienna suddenly said as she hissed in pain.
“Okay, baby. You´re doing good, I´m so proud of you. Listen, I´ll come over to you and Mom, okay. Just wait for them to arrive, nothing is gonna happen to you. They will help you.”
“O-okay...I-I love you Dad.”
“I love you too. Stay strong.”, and with this, Luke hung up and sighed as he grabbed his keys and jacket.
“Luke?”, Spence asked confused as they only got bits and pieces of the call.
“Sienna and Megan...they were in a car crash. I need to head over and check on them.”, he explained.
“Go!”, Emily said as she slowly came to a stop opposite of the agent, “Matt, you´re going with him.”
“No, I can go there alone.”
“I won´t argue about this with you, Alvez. You are absolutley not able right now to drive a car. Take Matt with you and keep us all updated.”
“Thank you!”, he sighed and with his, Matt and Luke left. Hopefully, they wouldn´t be too late...
About 30 minutes and a few broken street rules later, Alvez and Simmons arrived at the hospital in McLean.
“Hi, I´m Agent Luke Alvez. My daughter and her Mom were brought here. They were in an accident.”, he told the nurse.
“What´s her name?”, she asked him.
“Sienna Miller, she´s 15. Please, I need to know if she´s okay.”
The nurse nodded and checked her computer. After a while, she said: “I found her, Sienna Grace Miller, 15. Brought in after a car accident.”
“Yes, that´s her. Where´s she?!”
“She´s being checked out by Dr. Lennon. If you want, you can wait down there in the waiting room.”
“What about her mother? Megan Miller?”
“Let me see...ah, here. Megan Miller, 36. She´s still in surgery.”
“Okay, thank you!”, Luke said and together with Matt, he made his way over to the waiting room where he began pacing around nervously.
“Lukey, maybe you should sit down and...”, Matt began but was soon interrupted by the agent.
“No, I won´t sit down. I need to know that she´ll be okay. I can´t imagine what would happen if...”, he began, but stopped, unable to continue.
“She´ll be fine. She´s your daughter and she´s strong as her parents.”
“Yes, but...”, but just was he was about to continue, a doctor entered the waiting room.
“Sienna Miller?”
“Yes, I´m her Dad. Is she alright? Can I see her?”
“Sienna is as alright as one can be in such a situation. She has a few scratches and bruises as well as a concussion. Also, she got three partially fractured ribs. We gave her some pain medication, but I think within the next one to two hours, she should be able to go home. She needs to be really careful though.”, the doctor said.
“What about her Mom?”
“She´s still in surgery, but it doesn´t look too good. You should prepare for the worst.”
Luke closed his eyes and wiped his hand across his face.
“Can I see Sienna?”
“Of course, she is also asking for you. Your daughter is in Room 118. The second room down on the left side. If you´ll excuse me, I have to check on my other patients now.”
“Thank you!”, Matt said as they both made their way down to the girls room.
Luke knocked at the door before he entered the room.
“Dad!”, Sienna exclaimed and tried to sit up, but fell back into the pillow as she winced in pain.
“Be careful! Take it easy.”, Luke answered as he took a chair and put it beside her bed.
“How are you feeling?”, Simmons wanted to know.
“I´ve been better. What about Mom? Is she alright?”
“She´s still in surgery. The doctors are doing their best.”, Luke reassured her and took her hand. He didn´t want to stress out his daughter more than she already was.
“I was so scared, Dad. She wasn´t breathing a-and I did not know what to do.”, Sienna replied as the tears started to stream down her face.
“No, Baby. Everything will be alright. You did good!”, he said as he wiped away her tears and gave her a smile.
Just when the girl was about to argue, another doctor entered the room. As soon as Sienna looked at him she knew, what was going on.
“No...”, she whispered, squeezing her father´s hand a little to hard.
“I am truly and deeply sorry, but there was nothing we could do. I´m really sorry for your loss.”, the doctor said as he looked at the broken girl, feeling guilty for her pain.
Suddenyl, it felt like the world stopped turning around Sienna and there was nothing she could do to keep it going.

Power Ranger App
Name: Mallory “Mal” Holloway
Face Claim: Dove Cameron
Ranger Color: Purple
Zord: Dragon
Age: 17
A Little Bit About Your Character In This AU ( At Least One Line ): She’s trouble, she’s bad, some would even say she’s evil. She has an attitude, certainly, and has done many questionable things, but don’t think for a second that she’s exactly what her reputation marks her as. Born to a wealthy family, Mal spends most of her time tagging the local area.  She regularly runs away from her abusive home and, because of it, she knows all the ins and outs in the city, as well as which houses are absent or abandoned.  She managed to convince a local martial arts instructor to start giving her lessons  after her first time running away.  In payment, Mal painted a mural for his back wall for him.

All About Eve 28.3/30
Robin: before we begin, has anyone seen this before? Any strong feelings about it?
Liz: no and no. but it has Marilyn Monroe and I love her
Robin: Until yesterday, the only thing I was aware of was the title; I'm very excited to discover it's a black and white film featuring such great actresses, I'm literally bouncing in excitement at some of these names
Nick Blake: Monroe!
Liz: 3
Robin: 2
Liz: 1
Robin: go!
Nick Blake: ACTIVATE
Liz: Bette Davis!
Robin: When i gave this a test watch yesterday, I got all excited thinking it was going to be a silent movie
Nick Blake: that was a very convincing Robot Wars impression btw
Liz: (no it wasn't)
Robin: before I realised actually my sound was off
Nick Blake: any movie's a silent movie if the sound's off
Robin: BETTE DAVIS YES I am screaming i delight
Nick Blake: My Dinner With Andre, for example
Robin: I know! We could do it silent, just for a laugh
Robin: follow the progression of cinema
Nick Blake: the writer sounds familiar, I may have seen his other stuff
Robin: HOW DARE THEY QUESTION THE PULITZER
Robin: Oh wow, the comedy in this is phenomenal already - "being an actor... it is not important you hear what he says."
Liz: "Award for Distinguished Achievement"
Liz: I like
Nick Blake: these are clearly some Men of Achievement
Robin: "Minor awards are such as for writer and director" YES, THE WRITING IN THIS FILM IS DEFINITELY GOOD
Nick Blake: this man is essential to the theatre. he must be stopped at once!
Robin: "I am critic and commentator. I am essential to the teatre." THE SHADE BEING THROWN ALL OVER
Liz: I would like to take a moment to appreciate Joseph L. Mankiewicz. I already love this film
Nick Blake: good ol' Mankie
Liz: Joe Mankie
Robin: Mankie my bro
Nick Blake: I appreciate Mankie's wits
Nick Blake: who'd a thunk it, an actor quoting Hamlet
Robin: Every second of this, of the narration and of every tiny gesture they do while on screen, is so phenomenal, they've put so much thought into it
Robin: This film already deserves Best Picture
Liz: I think this project may already be over. Best Picture Ever
Nick Blake: coming out of the gate strong like a horse made of celluloid
Nick Blake: it shall never be turned into glue
Robin: like a flammable horse made of celluloid
Liz: all horses are flammable
Nick Blake: all horses are flammable. That's their beauty and their tragedy
Robin: true true
Robin: wow, A+ hivemind you guys!!
Robin: And now, Citizen Kane herself...
Liz: this is why we're getting married
Nick Blake: there are other reasons, but those are secondary
Robin: <3 <3 <3
Robin: It's mainly for the horses
Robin: FREEZEFRAME
Robin: honestly, why did we develop cinema past this point?? It's already the best
Nick Blake: record scratch
Liz: "you're probably wondering how she got here"
Robin: man, I need to watch more black and white pictures
Nick Blake: there are some quality B/W pictures to come. for instance, The Apartment (1960) which is just A++++
Nick Blake: multiple narrators? by golly, this complicates the narrative
Robin: "Where was she? I found myself looking for a girl I'd never spoken to..." GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY
Liz: this is apparently Monroe's breakthrough role so I am PUMPED
Robin: "I've seen you so often, it took every bit of courage I could raise..." GAY GAY GAY GAY GAY
Robin: Is Monroe Margot Channing? I'm bad at recognising ppl in different roles
Nick Blake: it feels odd to me to see Monroe's breakthrough. She's so emblematic of celebrity that it seems bizarre that there was a point she wasn't famous
Liz: Miss Caswell, a minor character who has not appeared yet
Robin: Wow, so Eve has been famous for less than a year?
Robin: Harp box in the corner like a coffin
Nick Blake: "write me one about a nice, normal woman who just shoots her husband" yes, good
Liz: 10/10 would watch
Robin: I have good news for you about the musical 'Chicago'
Liz: shoots the lover, abandons the husband
Nick Blake: Chekhov's Nice Normal Woman. If she's in the play in act 1, she'd better shoot her husband in act 3
Robin: "They're never indoors long enough" Kids these days, playing outside
Nick Blake: Like and share if you remember kids confined to the salon to practice pianoforte like a good boy
Robin: "My good friend and companion" is this Actually Gay? I feel so many good vibes
Liz: all old films are gay, it is a Fact
Robin: I'm surprised to find it post-30s, I guess
Nick Blake: If I may quote Sunset Boulevard "It was gay, alright, but it was about to get REALLY FUCKIN GAY"
Nick Blake: I think I paraphrase, but still
Robin: San Francisco, yes, okay, confirmed
Robin: The way the babble overlapped just then, and then Eve being interrupted, and then dead silence... wow. That's incredible writing
Liz: I'm enjoying the classic breathy-yet-stilted exposition
Liz: lean forward at the end of every sentence to emphasise the banality
Robin: Mmm yeah, makes it old-timey even for the time. Turns this into a proper fairytale about the magic of the stage for baby Eve
Nick Blake: One night, Margo Channing came to play and then BAM gay thoughts
Liz: "there were theatres is San Francisco" WHAAAAAA?
Robin: I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to turn this into me repeating GAY over and over, but:
- offscreen husband
- she goes to SF to meet him
- husband fridged
- instead she found the woman of her dreams who brought light back into her life
Robin: BIRDIE IS A BUTCH LESBIAN, AS ALL VAUDEVILLIANS ARE
Nick Blake: I'm sorry if I upset you, it's just how dang butch I am
Robin: GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Liz: "what are you two, lovers?" probably
Nick Blake: "I love a psychotic" - superwholock blogger confirmed
Robin: "What are you two, lovers?" "Only in some ways." THIS MOVIE DELIVERS
Nick Blake: Only in the homosexual fashion
Nick Blake: There are probably other themes. theatre, possibly?
Liz: the theme is Eve, obviously
Liz: look at the title
Nick Blake: I thought it was All About Eaves, the Samwise Gamgee story
Robin: I really do like the Citizen Kane aspect, it looks like it really is going to be vignettes from different people about her maybe
Liz: you say Citizen Kane, I say that one scene from Mean Girls
Liz: "one time, Eve punched me in the face"
Nick Blake: Donald Duck, Ibsen and the Lone Ranger... we didn't start the fire
Robin: Loving this scene about theatre being flea circuses and cartoons too; NB, your 'non-gay theme' could be about 'what is theatre'
Robin: is it writers or is it the essential critic. broadway or television.
Robin: Her one earring is in the gay ear #confirmed
Liz: Bette Davis cannot throw, apparently
Robin: Wait, the straight ear. Oops. I take it back.
Liz: "throw that letter away" drops it but behind her head
Nick Blake: it's half about art, half about complete fascination with an individual; the impersonal and the deeply personal
Nick Blake: "Everybody can't be Gregory Peck" the attitude of a QUITTER
Robin: I like the Gregory Peck reference - I love that he's real in this fictional universe
Liz: Gregory Peck is the universal constant
Nick Blake: so Roman Holiday exists in this universe. It's a good universe.
Robin: Eve, averting her eyes from this outrageous display of heterosexuality
Robin: Wow, they're already moving in together
Nick Blake: "THE HONEYMOON WAS ON"
Robin: Hello, and welcome to our new blog 'Every Film Is Gay'
Nick Blake: If it weren't for the Hays Code, who knows how this film could have been? It's really inviting this reading in a way I wasn't expecting.
Liz: BURN THE HAYS CODE
Robin: You are going to be so happy when we reach Wings in ten years
Nick Blake: black and white is the warmest colour
Liz: quality brisk undressing there
 Liz: oh no...THE UNIONS
Nick Blake: gosh darn them unions
 Robin: Wardrobe mistress...
Robin: unions...
Nick Blake: a beat poem by robin
 Robin: aaaw, Eve...
Nick Blake: oh no, calling a man
Robin: Do either of you know when this film is set? I suppose contemporary, if Roman Holiday exists
Nick Blake: nyet
Liz: I think the start is contemporary (read 1950)
Liz: oh ok it's based on a 1946 short story so I guess mid 40s
Nick Blake: Eve I feel may not be a good person
Robin: Mmm, if the honeymoon period is coming to a close...
Robin: I wonder how much of this is also about age - the ageing star versus the young, perfect Eve
Liz: maybe this is why Margo looked grumpy at the beginning
Robin: "a lifetime is a season; and a season, a lifetime"
Robin: much in the same way Margot is so rude to Birdie
Nick Blake: imitation is the sincerest form of I HAVE ABSORBED YOUR PHYSICAL FORM
Robin: YES loving that creepiness
Liz: she's literally wearing her old clothes...
Robin: "I'm sure that's very flattering, I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it."
Robin: BETTE DAVIS IN A SUIT THOUGH. The only thing I wanted from this film, fulfilled.
Robin: "It seems I can't think of a thing you haven't thought of." OOOOH, THE STUDENT BECOMES THE MASTER.
Liz: Eve is Anne Baxter
Liz: Bette Davis is Margo
Robin: Oops
Nick Blake: same thing
Liz: but Anne Baxter in a suit is also very good
Nick Blake: quality content
Robin: The only way this film could become better is getting these women in some trousers
Liz: ROBIN SUCH INPROPRIETY
Robin: I WANNA SEE SOME LEGS!!!
Robin: Is... is that 'french ventriloquist' joke about cunnilingus? I feel like it could be a very oblique cunnilingus joke
Liz: I googled French ventriloquist and all I found was that Britain's Got Talent dog
Robin: "I'll tell you about looking into the heart of an artichoke some snowy night in front of the fire" is what you say to someone you're about to murder
Robin: no but like... linguistics, and being good with tongues, I mean? And it was also a sex joke definitely
Liz: makes sense
Nick Blake: what is she doing with this man who is quite clearly not a lesbian
Robin: I love how Margo is really being presented as reasonable for picking up on all these things, but it still looks from the outside that she's being a ridiculous diva
Robin: and that Eve is innocent but still predatory, like a cuckoo chick
Nick Blake: that's the perfect analogy
Robin: "What about her fangs?" "She hasn't cut them yet and you know it!" Except she's currently cutting them now, on Margo!
Liz: what's Margo got against milkshakes that bitch
Nick Blake: delicious symbols of innocence
Liz: I'm 22 I want a milkshake
Robin: They're bringing boys to her yard
Nick Blake: tasty tasty childhood symbolism
Liz: but she wants girls, oh no!
Robin: Hmm, more symbolism:
Robin: - Eve taking people's clothes at the start, subservient
- Eve literally wearing Margo's clothes, donning her skin
- And now, taking ppl's coats looks like theft
Liz: It's really ridiculously well done
Liz: MARILYN
Nick Blake: "ok but this time I'm onto something" is the vibe i'm getting off Margo, which is great. It's so frustrating and fascinating
Robin: "What has, or is about to happen?" I'M GONNA MARRY THIS SCREENWRITER
Nick Blake: the first time anyone has ever said that
Robin: Wow, they got a genuine frenchman
Robin: I think I'm correct in saying "in passing" is a sex joke
Liz: has to be
Robin: "You won't bore him, you won't even get a chance to talk!" LOVE YOU, MARILYN
Robin: Margo, holding a cocktail and a cigarette and someone else's lollipop is the symbol of this film
Robin: "Play it again." HEY THERE!
Liz: do you know the story about Marilyn Monroe and pissing?
Robin: No, please tell it
Nick Blake: "I AM DYING HERE ARE MY BURIAL REQUESTS" - Margo with the sad twitter aesthettic
Liz: ok so when she was dating Arthur Miller she went with him to meet his mother, needed the toilet, and turned on the taps to cover the sound
Liz: the mother later said she was a "wonderful girl, but she pisses like a horse"
Robin: YES, I LOVE THAT STORY
Robin: There's something wonderfully meta about a film with an aspiring actress featuring Marilyn Monroe as an aspiring actress
Liz: I'm always suspicious of films about actors etc. but this is top quality
Robin: Old Hollywood was remarkably self aware
Nick Blake: I think films about actors/films/theatre should be rationed. So maybe 2 per director. You need a special permit for fourth wall breaking.
Nick Blake: Mankie's cool, he's got it right. But we need a system.
Robin: I endorse that statement
Liz: I always wondered, what order are the other walls in?
Liz: I'd probably put the back as the first wall but then which?
Robin: left, back, right, fourth?
Nick Blake: they all vie for position. It's a tough gig.
Robin: No, right, back, left, fourth. The door is on the right in all sitcoms.
Liz: that's true actually, I never noticed
Liz: ok that order wins
Robin: 1950 AND BETTE DAVIS IS CALLING OUT HOW ALL FEMALE PROTAGS ARE WAY TOO YOUNG
Robin: BETTE DAVIS, THE HERO WE NEED TODAY
Liz: YES
Liz: "I'll wear rompers and come in rolling a hoop" sass central
Nick Blake: that's my business wear
Robin: Eve is almost vampiric, isn't she? Her youth feels eternal since she too young to worry about age yet, and she is stealing Margo's lifeblood...
Nick Blake: she bite
Nick Blake: oh no
Liz: yeah it's quite interesting how much of the events are incidental to the story they're telling mostly visually
Liz: I think Marilyn might be being set up as a rival too
Robin: Sable//Gable, actors as objects
Nick Blake: "I've listened backstage to people applaud"... I think this is the key line of it
Robin: I really like this scene of two men pontificating on the stairs, and the women not merely absorbing it, but weaponising it?
Robin: Writer and critic talking about how to get ahead, while Marilyn and Eve sharpen their pickaxes and take notes
Robin: OOOOF I LOVE THIS
Nick Blake: it's marvellous just how angry Margo gets
Robin: Margo who came up in vaudeville sounding off against her friend who went to Radcliffe
Robin: Margo, so far the only one Eve has been feeding off, not understanding how no one else can see what's lurkin in the shadows
Robin: I love her
Nick Blake: she's haunted
Robin: Yes!!!
Liz: It's almost Gothic isn't it
Robin: Hitchcockian
Nick Blake: yep, Eve is her gothic double!
Robin: Yes! Eve is the Dorian Grey to her portrait
Liz: tragic heroine. mysterious draining force. double. everyone else ignoring what's happening
Liz: this is a gothic film and I'll fight anyone who denies it
Robin: And I do think she's completely innocent, Eve is, it's just that her youth and her eagerness is by definition a danger
Liz: idk I think the phonecall thing was intentional
Liz: she's trying to find a quick way to the top using Margo as a stepping stone
Nick Blake: This is a tragedy; either the brilliant Margo is exploited by a cunning trickster, or Eve is just inherently vampiric. The tragedy is either Margo's or Eve's
Robin: Love also how all those paintings (of Margo, I think?) are Ye Olde, really puts her as a symbol of the past
Robin: 'Eve is new and unpregnant'; 'I must start wearing a watch, I never have, you know!' Every line gets more and more sinister as the film goes on
Robin: "In TIME she'll be what you are" oof!
Robin: "He listened to his play as if it had been written by someone else..." Eve is stealing the play too! This is incredible!
Liz: oooh she's fighting back!
Liz: I think this confirms my gothic theory. she's fighting back against the enemy and being essentially called paranoid
Robin: Yes yes yes
Robin: Also wonderfully calling out "Hey, don't you think it's odd the way women's ages are represented in fiction?" and being told she doesn't understand and is missing the point
Liz: especially with the repeated referring to Margo as a tool or an instrument
Robin: Bette Davis putting out her cigarette defiantly on the stage is my sexuality
Nick Blake: it's very interesting how the writers and critics are men. They're interpreting and critiquing the actions of the women, putting them into context or twisting them.
Liz: oh god it's about sexism and ageism, not just gay
Robin: yesssss
Nick Blake: "a body with a voice"
Robin: It's terrifying - he's holding her down like a bad psychiatric doctor; and it's a position/framing that could be sexual, except we've never seen them interact sexually on screen, it's only been referenced
Robin: what a film
Robin: The thing is, what the man is saying is true? She is great and talented and at the peak of her career etc
Nick Blake: "I told you how to view things, will you comply woman?"
Robin: but she lives in her real world and is talking about the real truth that she is Too Old
Liz: "I don't like your explanation. Tell me what's happening"
Robin: THE SHOT OF HER CRYING ON A BED, AND ZOOMING OUT TO SHOW IT'S A BED ON A STAGE
Robin: Ooof, the man talking about how Margo knew Eve was her understudy when she came in and acted all shocked, therefore her shock must have been an act - it was an act! she was fighting! how could he not see, not interpret her technique correctly!
Robin: Men.
Nick Blake: Eve doesn't have to do anything, she's just way easier to work with now than Margo who is so angry
Robin: yup
Robin: "What time is it?" "When you asked a minute ago, it was..." Time is so good in this
Nick Blake: mortalityyyyyy
Liz: almost crashing and stranded in the snow? DEATH
Liz: HOW MUCH TIME HAVE WE GOT
Liz: "I detest cheap sentiment" No Margo it's because it's the song from the party isn't it
Robin: Did cigarettes kill you in 1950 or were they still recommended by the Surgeon General? Did they age you, at least?
Robin: Bc I think Margo is the only one we've seen smoking...
Robin: Oooof yeah, I didn't catch that about the song!
Robin: "I want him to love me, not Margo Channing." THIS IS THE BEST FILM EVER
Liz: Apparently the official warning was 1964
Liz: but there were lots of reports before that from the 20s
Robin: Interesting
Liz: so I guess in the 40s it'd be a "maybe you shouldn't. maybe?"
Robin: "Gender is performative" - Bette Davis, 1950
Robin: I love Margo recognising that Eve isn't the problem, it's what Eve symbolises, but that a symbol can be dangerous in and of itself
Liz: oh god there's so much sabotage going on though
Robin: YES
Liz: and this was definitely all the friend's doing
Liz: but was she sabotaging Margo on purpose or just giving Eve a little chance?
Robin: Mmm, that and at the very start - Margo didn't want to meet a fan, but the friend wanted Eve to have a chance
Robin: UMM, I CAN'T TELL THE MEN APART, BUT ISN'T THIS THE ONE WHO IS IN LOVE WITH MARGO
Liz: YES
Robin: EVE NO
Liz: AND EVE KNOWS IT
Robin: EVE MY FEELINGS ABOUT YOU ARE CHANGING
Liz: BILL YOU ARE THE ONLY GUY NOT TO CHEAT WITH THE YOUNGER MODEL IN A FILM AND I SALUTE YOU
Robin: Yeah, but I'm not a huge fan of his reasoning being "I don't like a forward woman"
Robin: it should have been more along the lines of "MARGO AND I ARE TOGETHER"
Liz: well no, but nobody's perfect, and especially not 40s/50s men
Robin: hdu, Casablanca had already come out at this point
Nick Blake: I like Dewitt's turns of phrase
Liz: Rick is an outlier and should not be counted
Robin: Dewitt wants her to leave her bathroom door open a bit, and as a human being I am deeply uncomfortable
Liz: at least she's not actually...going
Robin: "An oasis of civilisation in the desert..." uuuhhhhh
Nick Blake: Eddie Lastname
Robin: OH he's catching her on her lies and that won't be a real theatre/husband
Robin: I thought he was just really bad at knowing things about San Francisco
Liz: implies she shed his name too, which would also be interesting
Robin: oooh yes!!
Liz: since he died in the war...
Nick Blake: he died of LIES
Robin: That adds to the performativity of her being a woman - not an innocent wife and widow, but someone self-driven and playing that up to be alluring even though she already cast him aside
Liz: THIS FILM IS SO GOOD I LOVE YOU JOE MANKY WHEREVER YOU ARE
Robin: //opinions on the film do not reflect my real feelings about human women who change their names
Robin: YES JOE MANKEY THANK YOU
Liz: I like that you spell it like the Pokémon not the adjective
Robin: Pokémon are the only screenwriters I trust
Liz: we are buffering
Robin: I paused at "what are the differences between theatre and civilisation"
Robin: which is wowza
Liz: we're at reading the newspaper "vigour of which they retain but a dim memory"
Robin: Okay, tell me when you get to civilisation!
Nick Blake: eggs
Liz: I'm thinking it might be good it when we do our ratings it's kind of a box quote thing?
Liz: words words words x out of 10
Nick Blake: nice
Robin: Yeah, that sounds good!
Liz: go
Nick Blake: civilisation!
Liz: I love when people smack newspapers in things
Nick Blake: what did the newspaper do
Liz: supported eve
Nick Blake: o no
Robin: Bill called it filth! Bill gets points back!
Liz: oh god
Liz: Eve
Nick Blake: top quality Bill
Liz: the original betrayer
Liz: YOU GUYYYYYS
Robin: EVE THE ORIGINAL BETRAYER!!!!!!!!
Robin: I was thinking all this time "Eve the original woman" but BETRAYER
Nick Blake: woooooah
Robin: Who's the serpent? Fame/theatre, or the friend, or...
Liz: I think the friend
Robin: "Eve would never ask to be in a play like that!" She would never ask...
Liz: Eve seems genuinely quiet and shy at the start, even if her backstory is a lie
Liz: although maybe Eve is the serpent
Liz: tricking the friend in betraying Margo
Robin: Yeah, I'm feeling that way too
Robin: The friend is so interesting - I'm thinking of Lyra in HDM, how she was a betrayer without meaning to be
Liz: Yes so much that
Robin: innocently leading her friend to his death
Robin: It's incredible how the movie is changing my opinions of Eve so effectively, I was completely on her side at the start and now I'm reevaluating my entire life
Robin: "In a cathedral or a ball park or a penny arcade..." He's talking about love the same way he talked about theatre at the start
Robin: I do like Bill
Nick Blake: same thing #makeuthink
Robin: Oooooooooo
Robin: MARGO GONNA GLASS EVE IN THE FACE WITH A CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE IN THE BATHROOM
Robin: I'M LIVING
Liz: god that'd be so good
Liz: the classiest thug
Robin: Karen marching straight past Dewitt without looking. Blood in the air.
Liz: did she just fucking bite a bone or is black and white making veg look like bone?
Robin: I CAN'T BELIEVE BETTE DAVIS JUST BIT A MAN'S DICK OFF
Robin: I think it was celery
Nick Blake: wowsers
Robin: This movie is such #lifegoals
Liz: I think the key is to be Margo but deck Eve early on
Robin: "Don't treat me as if I was the queen mother" - she's repeating what she criticised Margo for saying. Battle lines being drawn.
Robin: Eve's face and makeup is so intent and villainous here - a real change from her in a wet raincoat at the start
Robin: Local Girl Gets Makeover And Turns Evil
Liz: it's a tale as old as time
Liz: song as old as rhyme
Liz: don't trust fucking Eve
Nick Blake: biting off a dick
Robin: And now Eve is drawing the friend back into her fold!
Robin: This is the best chess game I've ever seen
Liz: This isn't chess this is Kal-toh
Nick Blake: reminds me of the TV Hannibal - doesn't have to say what you should do, just quietly manipulates people into saying the thing and doing the thing. no culpability
Robin: "It might have been Margo's fifteen years ago, but it's my part now!" Looking up from below, black dress//white dress, holding her hand, winged eyeliner - it looks absolutely like a deal being made with the devil
Robin: AND NOW THE BLACKMAIL BEGINS
Robin: HOLY SHIT
Liz: mmmm humble pie
Robin: :D
Robin: Shut Up About Eve, the movie
Robin: I love all the references to the title
Robin: They're all master-level
Nick Blake: it was arrested development
Robin: Eve//Evil
Liz: I think I need to see more Mankiewicz
Robin: "It means I've got a life to live, I don't have to play parts I'm too old for." I want to watch this film a thousand times, just to see more of Margo
Nick Blake: I can guess what rating you're going to give it
Robin: You're not allowed to guess, I'm an international man of mystery
Liz: gay out of sassy
Nick Blake: save it for the Austin Powers episode
Robin: Seperate beds - a comment on the relationship, or sustaining the Hays Code?
Robin: EVE IS STEALING YET ANOTHER MAN
Liz: I'd guess relationship
Robin: BREAKING FRIENDSHIPS
Liz: Hays code separate beds tend to be next to each other
Robin: LURKING IN THE SHADOWS
Robin: that's true, that's true!!
Liz: oh that's some quality green screen
Nick Blake: Yes We Are Really Walking Down a Street
Liz: No That's Not My Perfectly Flat Shadow
Nick Blake: that's my butt
Robin: Very good cut though, of them awkwardly "walking into a building" and then having them walking out of an elevator - carries the movement but doesn't make it seem completely false because there has been spacial disconnect
Liz: yeah that was just bad
Nick Blake: I feel like the film started happy and gay, and it's ending sad and straight
Robin: DEWITT IS COMING FOR LOUISA MAY ALCOTT AND HE IS MY ENEMY
Liz: WHO IS LOUISA MAY ALCOTT
Robin: Wrote Little Women and also some sickass trashy scifi about throwing people into volcanos and pirates and stuff
Liz: ah ok cool
Robin: Mainly known for Little Women
Nick Blake: I can imagine being thrown into a volcano, but being thrown into a pirate is altogether beyond me
Liz: like a javelin
Liz: or a dart
Robin: Something wonderful about Eve's convo with Dewitt here - he uses his words as a weapon, and she's doing the same. Like two devils meeting.
Robin: "Killer to killer." "Champion to champion."
Nick Blake: "yes I am a critic therefore i'm going to hell"
Liz: I think killer is appropriate. They can both kill people's careers in different ways
Robin: Yes!!
Nick Blake: "you will belong to me" fucking hell
Robin: "you will belong to me" is a mix of sexism/wedding, and also of the sataic contracts that keep popping up
Robin: UUUH
Robin: DEWITT
Robin: GO FUCK YOURSELF
Liz: good post-slap face though
Nick Blake: All About Gertrude
Liz: Not a great name...
Liz: "Dead Heroes and The Women Who Loved Them"
Nick Blake: "Dead Heroes and the Women Who Loved Them", a paperback by Addison Dewitt
Robin: I read that as "dead horses"
Liz: also that
Nick Blake: Society says neigh, but their hearts say yes
Robin: "desire to love and to be loved" - interesting words from a critic, whose job is cruelty
Liz: I thought it was inability to love and be loved?
Nick Blake: if the critic can possess Eve he can possess theatre
Robin: oh, I must have misheard! That's much better!
Liz: also appropriate mind, but in a smaller way
Liz: oh it's now again
Nick Blake: aaaand we're up to the opening
Nick Blake: I feel like someone's going to die
Liz: there are guns behind her. symbolic?
Robin: The fact her whole story was fake makes it very different, the feeling when she told it how it was like a monologue from a film ten years before
Robin: GOOD EYE FOR CHECKOV'S GUN!!
Liz: I was thinking more like she'll get old eventually and be displaced by the next Eve
Robin: Yessssss
Nick Blake: it feels like her shoutouts are veiled threats
Liz: oh without a doubt
Robin: Fascinating how all the women are uncomfortable with being Eve's friend - and Bill, I suppose, who is an honourary woman by way of being a respectful and caring spouse - and all the men are seduced
Liz: I wouldn't say she seduced Addison
Robin: Mmm yeah, she lost the war on that one
Robin: She tried, but he won
Robin: I'LL BE BACK TO CLAIM IT
Liz: terminator voice
Nick Blake: "If you want me back" - the self-effacing manipulator strikes again
Robin: Interesting too that this is a film about theatre - Eve is leaving Broadway for Hollywood, Marilyn is leaving theatre for TV (which is like film but less classy)
Liz: SICK BURN MARGO
Robin: new overtaking the old
Robin: Eve talking about how the party is for the award and not for her - like Margo was saying in the car
Liz: she won, but she's still ultimately a prop
Nick Blake: thought - was Margo once an Eve?
Robin: I think so? She came up via vaudeville, but it sounds like she did the second act while Birdie - aged, over the hill - did the first act
Nick Blake: she was so angry and upset because she saw the moves that she once tried, and that means it's over
Nick Blake: the cycle continues
Robin: HERE WE GO HERE WE GO HERE WE GO
Liz: HERE WE FUCKING GO
Robin: YEAH!!!!!!!!
Robin: Extremely stalkerish behaviour, but please, it's a compliment!
Liz: It's ok because I made a club about you
Robin: "Of course, they're just movie stars..." but Eve is going to hollywood and will elevate it
Robin: Remember how Eve put Margo's affairs in order? And now here, New Kid is cleaning Eve's carpet even though Eve is so tired and the maid will get it in the morning
Liz: yeah that was quick
Robin: SYMBOLISM OF NEW KID BEING HANDED THE AWARD, HOLY SHIT
Liz: FAKE NAME, ADDISON GETTING INVOLVED
Robin: Eve looks like she's aged ten years since she picked that award up
Liz: trying on the cape like she tried the dress!!!
Robin: Yes!!!!
Robin: amazing mirror placement
Liz: she looks like the evil queen
Nick Blake: it's like a coronation or wedding
Robin: Who is Phoebe? The moon? The moon is also virginity and innocence, much like Eve in the garden
Liz: oh god oh god oh god
Liz: HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHITBALLS BOX QUOTES GO
Nick Blake: A very well crafted film about theatre, obsession, fame, men and women and many other things. Its only drawback is being a tad on the long side.
Nick Blake: 9/10
Liz: A lesson in visual storytelling. 9.3/10
Robin: Absolutely incredible film; I had high hopes and it surpassed them by miles. I want to watch it a million times to soak in every detail. The acting, the WRITING, the cinematography, it was all absolutely phenomenal. I want to write a book about this movie. I feel very bad starting out so high in this grand experiment, but I can't give it anything less than a 10 -- it had so many incredible things that I love and adore and had wonderful, complex heroines and villains, all about excellent women and wonderfully presented. No faults. 10/10
Liz: That's a big box
Robin: shit I don't actually know what a boxquote is. should it be shorter.
Liz: All About Eve: 28.3 out of 30
Robin: Surpassed my highest hopes with its wonderful writing and acting. Incredible and complex female characters. 10/10
Liz: That was so fun!
Robin: Yeah!! I really enjoyed it!!
Robin: One question, to include or not: Do you think this film could be remade/rereleased today? With the same script and everything? It's put together so wonderfully, every line has a purpose
Liz: I honestly don't like remakes as a rule and the stuff I'd change is very minor
Liz: (Also next month is All Quiet on the Western Front, so that'll be fun)
Nick Blake: I fear what would happen to the motivations of characters. Eve would be a rote psychotic character rather than a clever manipulator
Liz: that's true
Liz: a lot of what they do is interesting in part because it was the 40s
Nick Blake: based on a true story
Nick Blake: originated in an anecdote told to Mary Orr by Elisabeth Bergner
Robin: I think my favourite moment in this film, in retrospect, was Eve's life story at the start - bc it felt like a 40s emotional monologue, which must have been a little dated even by 1950, so it would have felt very much like a performance to viewers
Nick Blake: became a short story by Orr which Mankie then went "yeah i'll make this"
Robin: and idk if that would translate to now. It's a perfect film of the time
Robin: ooooooh, interesting!!!!
Nick Blake: there's specifics about the war dead which makes it hard to alter - the fake WW2 dead husband
Liz: idk there's always wars
Robin: Her husband could still have fake died in WWII, it'd just make her Definitely A Vampire
Nick Blake: but the bodycounts are different, each one's on the news
Liz: could update it a bit and say Vietnam
Robin: No one remembers each name though - you'd have to check, like Dewitt did
Liz: or, killed in a terrorist attack
Liz: go full on and say 9/11
Nick Blake: "I was working in a brewery when my husband 9/11ed"
Robin: GOSH
Robin: You know that's an actual thing?
Robin: One of the heads of, I don't remember whether it was 9/11 survivors or if it was widows, but had no connection with 9/11 at all, built a whole false identity around it
Robin: And it would gain instant sympathy
Liz: oh god I saw that
Nick Blake: how you remake it - lean into the contemporary elements. Young woman with tragic backstory goes viral, receives help from an Ellen-type figure. Whole thing was fake and she's trying to usurp her.
Robin: Yeah; it wouldn't be theatre, but something else

Some White Sox fans don't know who Derek Holland is yet
Pitcher Derek Holland is new to the Chicago White Sox. He was signed in mid-December, and since the baseball season hasn’t started yet, some fans might not know who he is. That’s just a reality.
But how about coming face-to-face with that reality on the phone with a camera rolling? Yeah, that seems a little … strange.
"Derek Holland? Yeah, I'm new. You might not know me but I am new. I am with this White Sox team." — @dutchoven45 ????
A video posted by Chicago White Sox (@whitesox) on Jan 26, 2017 at 8:48pm PST
Yes, the White Sox had Derek Holland making phone calls (presumably to season ticket holders to say thank you), and they filmed him calling someone who had no idea who he was. And then they posted it to Instagram.
So let’s cover the best thing about this video first: Derek Holland isn’t ruffled at all when the person he’s calling has no idea who he is. He just calmly says, “Yeah, I’m new. You might not know me but I am new. I am with this White Sox team.” The second best thing about this video? Holland calls the person on the phone “big guy.” It’s been a long time since I’ve heard anyone get called big guy, but it’s something that we as a society should consider bringing back.
Now let’s get to some of the other things about this short video, namely: why post this!? It’s sort of funny, but maybe not in the way they want. It’s like someone said, “Let’s highlight that our season-ticket holders, aka the people who are most likely very invested in this team, have no idea who we signed.” Admittedly it’s tough for a rebuilding team like the White Sox to drum up excitement about some of the players they’ve recently signed, but why highlight that?
Tumblr media

Also, they couldn’t put Holland in a nice, neat, White Sox branded conference room to make those phone calls? It looks like he’s making the calls at the desk of someone who took a three-day weekend.
Again, at least Holland is a good sport about it. Hearing that a season-ticket holder has no idea who you are can’t be easy, especially since it’s not like he was signed yesterday. The White Sox signed him on Dec. 14, about six weeks ago. And the good news? When the baseball season starts, White Sox fans will have the opportunity to get to know him.
But seriously: come back soon, baseball. The teams are getting desperate.

Another Moment - Part 2
A/N: since you all enjoyed part 1 so much ( thank you for all the feedback<3) i worked on part 2 today :) as usual, feedback is appreciated :) enjoy!
in case you haven´t read part 1 yet, click HERE!
“How are you guys holding up?”, Emily asked.
“Well, they gave Sienna some meds to calm her down. She´s sleeping now. I can take her home with me as soon as she wakes up and is cleared to go.”, Luke said to his boss.
After receiving the news of her mothers passing, Sienna had a heavy panic attack and nobody was able to caml her down. This was when the doctor decided to give her a sedative. It hurt Luke to see his daughter this devasted and all he wanted to do was holding her and telling her that everything would be alright soon, eventually.
“And what about you?”, Emily asked again, worry lacing in her voice. In all his worry for his daughter, he hadn´t have time to cope with the message for his own sake.
“Well, I´m okay, I think. It still feels unreal and it will take some time to actually realize it, but my number 1 priority is my daughter right now.”
“I know, Luke. Take as much time as you need to geteverything settled. If you need help we´re all only one phone calle away.”
“Thank you, Emily. This means a lot.”
“We´re family, Luke. No one gets left behind. I have to go now. Keep us updated, okay?”
“I will, thank you and tell the others I said hi.”
“I will.”, and with this, they ended the phone call. LUke put his cell away and reentered the room where Sienna was sleeping in the huge hospital bed. She looked so fragile and small laying there. Slowly, he walked towards the bed and sat back down in the chair beside the bed.
“So, what will you do now?”, Matt asked to avoid the silence which was building up.
“Well, I´ll try and get full custody since I´m the last blood relative person she has left and I´m her Dad, so it shouldn´t be that hard.” Matt nodded and leaned back in his chair.
“Hey, whenever you need help or if you just wanna talk, I´m there. It can be tough raising a child on your own, Luke, but I´m sure you´ll do great.”
“Thanks, I´m not gonna lie. I´m nervous that I´ll mess things up, but I am also scared. Our job is dangerous and I don´t wanna cause her any more pain than she already experienced.”
“Don´t worry, we´ll take care of you.”, Simmons smiled, reassuring his friend, which Luke returned.
“Well, I can´t make that decision without her. If she doesn´t want to move to Quantico with me because of the friends and school her in McLean, we have to find a different solution.”, the Ex-Ranger sighed.
“Just take your time to decide. Everything will fall in place by itself.”, Matt responded.
Luke was about to go on talking when he noticed that Sienna was slowly starting to wake up. The teenager groaned as she carefully opened her eyes, the bright lights blinding her.
“Hey, how are you feeling?”, the agent asked as he took his daughter´s hand and gave it a getle squeeze. Sienna only shrugged with her shoulders and kept staring outside the hospital window. Luke sighed. This would be a long way to go.
“Hey, listen. We have to talk about where you´ll be staying after you get discharged from the hospital. There are different options and personally, I would suggest that...”, he started to explain as Sienna interrupted him.
“Please, don´t put me into foster care. I don´t want to, please.”, the girl begged, tears glazing her eyes as she kept looking at her father. Matt´s and Luke´s hearts broke right there and then.
“No, Baby Girl, no, I did not plan to. I actually was about to ask you if you would want to come to Quantico with me. You could live at my place and...”
“Yes, please. I just don´t wanna be alone, Dad.”, the girl said as she started to cry.
Luke immediatley engulfed the girl in a hugh and tried to comfort her as he whispered sweet nothings into her ear. After a while, when Sienna had calmed down, they broke apart and the girl leaned back into her pillow.
“It´s all my fault.”, she then whispered.
“What?!”, Simmons and Alvez asked at the same time.
“That accident...it´s my fault.”
“How could you possibly think that, Sienna?”, Matt said.
“Mom was angry with me. We were at a school meeting before and my teachers were telling her that my grades were dropping and that it would be difficult for me to get into the next grade with these grades. When we got back into the car, we started fighting. She blamed my friends for my bad grades. She said that they would be a bad influence. That´s when I snapped. I was yelling at her that if she would have paid more attention to me than to this Scott guy, the she would have noticed that I was looking for help because I was struggling.”
“Wait, who is Scott?”, Luke wanted to know since he never heard that name before.
“Scott was Mom´s new lover. They met here and there, but never were a thing. He was disgusting and just not right for her. Anyway, we kept fighting and at some point I said that I hated her. And sometime after that, when she wasn´t focusing on the street...we got off the road and crashed into that tree. We crashed because she was mad at me. It´s all my fault and the last thing she heard of me before she died was that i hated her.”, Sienna finished explaining and started to heavyly sob. Luke, who also shed some tears at his daughters words, sat down on the bed beside her and held her tight. It broke his heart to see her like this. How could she blame herself?!
“Shhhh...Princess. It was not your fault. It was no onés fault.”, he tried to console her.
“I-I just miss her so much. Why does it hurt so bad?”
Luke held her even tighter, too scared to let her go.
“I promise you, everything will be alright. We´ll figure this out.” Sienna sniffled.
“C-Can we go home now, please? I-I don´t wanna be here any longer.”
“I´ll go get the doctor.”, Matt said and got up to leave as Luke gave him a thankful look.
About 10 minutes later, Matt returned with Sienna´s doctor and a nurse and they freed her from all the needles and machines.
“Okay, you´re free to go. I just need you to sign the release papers and you´re officially free. I´ll be right back.”, the doctor said and left the room.
“I´ll go and call Emily to let her know that we´re coming back while I go get the car.”, Simmons told them and also left.
Just when the agent left, the doctor came back and Luke signed the papers.
“You´re ready?”, he asked Sienna as the doctor left and he helped her get down from the bed at which she nodded.
“Okay, let´s go then.”, Luke said and was about to start walking when he felt his daughter hesitating. He looked down at her and noticed the tears in her eyes.
“Hey now, what´s wrong?” Sienna sniffled before she spoke:
“Can you please promise me something, Dad?”
“Anything.”
“Don´t ever leave me.”
