on a warm friday evening at 4:40, y/n was just about to put the key into the hole of the door, but it opened just before she could, and a tall figure smacked right into her and almost sent her flying backwards. matt caught her before she was able to hit the ground and cursed under his breath. she steadied herself easily in his grip, palms flat against his chest as she looked up and laughed lightly at the sight of his surprised face. “i’m so sorry, honey. i didn’t even realize you were right there.” he said to the girl, which made her laugh even more.

y/n picked up her bag and lightly pushed on his chest. the couple maneuvered themselves back inside and closed the door. y/n set her bag down once again and turned to matt. “i have to go to training.” he said. “i completely forgot about that.” she sighed. “i’ll be back in a few hours though,i promise.” he explained. “i know you will, don’t worry.” she replied. y/n stood on her tippy toes to reach him and give him a small peck, which he gladly accepted, before she backed away and help him pick his bag up. he slung it over his shoulder and glanced back once more, giving a soft smile before making his way out the door. y/n stared at the door for a few seconds longer, making sure he wouldn’t come back for anything before picking her bag up once again and making her way into the living room to begin lesson planning for the next week.

when matt returned home, it was well after 7:00. he opened the door and sighed lightly, throwing his bag down on the bench near the door and stretching. a few of his bones popped and he groaned at the feeling, but began making his way to the living room, floorboards creeking under his weight. when he got there, the room was dark besides the lamp on y/n’s desk emitting light. she was so immersed in lesson planning that she didn’t even hear matt enter the room, or the apartment for that matter. ideas were running through her mind at a great speed until matt gently tapped her shoulder, making her jump and let out a small scream of surprise.

she lightly glared at matt as he snickered at her reaction. “that wasn’t funny. you scared me.” she said seemingly angry, but the small smile threatening to break through said otherwise. “how long have you been working on this, y/n?” matt questioned her, his voice coming out in a slightly worried tone. “uhh i’m not sure. what time is it?” she asked him. he looked at his phone quickly. “7:58.” the girls eyes widened. “since you left.” she said. she was in slight disbelief that she had lost track of time that easily. she hadn’t taken a break since she sat down, and she was starting to feel the result of that.

matt’s eyebrows furrowed he pinched the bridge of his nose sighing. “you need to take a break. you can finish this another day. you have all weekend.” he said in a firm but kind tone. “okay mother.” y/n snorted, but still smiled at his care for her. he rolled his eyes dramatically with a smirk. she stood up and stretched and he moved towards the table in the center of the room to grab the remote and switch on the tv. he sat down and leaned his head back on the couch and waiting for y/n to walk over. when she did, she sat beside him. as if it was an instinct, his left arm came to wrap around the girl. she fit into his side perfectly, almost as if she was made to be there. he kissed her head as he flipped through channels, landing on a show that the both of them enjoyed.

they stayed like that for the rest of the night and they later fell asleep together on the couch, the tv still running in the background.

Right! Off we go off we go! Andreana and Kako. Yeah I'm still torn on this. I just think the original doppel worked really well and this one just... ruined it..? I don't think they needed to change the doppel aspects and in doing so it made it look worse. The dual blades looks too busy and kinda dumb and why is her hand up there?? I get she's reckless so she might have cut it off but still... I'm unsure about the legs either. Her whole body is a mishmash of colours and her legs are suddenly all one colour? Dunno... I'd give her a bigger book skirt, highlight the bookmarks more (yes I know the legs are probably bookmarks but moreso as a skirt) and probably give her legs more like her arms.

Oh dear Maura... why did they choose the curtain one..? Maura and Nanaka. It's... it's boring, anyone with eyes can see it's boring. I just feel like the witch takes away from everything interesting about the original. My favourite part is how dark Nanaka's inclusion is and of course, that's absent here. And even the upside down curtain was at least a little interesting but now it's just curtains hanging the regular ol' way. I feel like this witch would be way way better animated instead of just sitting there curtain-ly. They should've chosen someone else with a better doppel...

Meiyui and Delanna. Now I know why she's in a crib, she's just straight up babyish and sleep themed. I think she's fine, nothing special. The crib is fun and creepy. I kinda wish the mouths were more creepy but I guess that's just her style :T

Cendrillon and Rena. Now. I think the full witch is beautiful. The colours are so pretty, the faces are horrifying and the bird detailing is lovely. But... is it the doppel..? N-Not for me... Like, I just feel the bird theming comes out of NOWHERE. Her theme is Cinderella, where did this come from?! (actually do birds peck out the eyes of the ugly stepsisters or something in the original? Maybe, that would be a bit better) And the three legs don't do it for me. I felt the one leg to highlight the missing glass slipper works well. And the hair pieces being on the side of her body doesn't sit right with me. Neither does the tail(?) piece, looks stuck on like they were like 'oh, fuck, we forgot the fan part!' BUT. It is a beautiful witch. Do I see this doppel coming from it if it was the other way around? No Also here I included Cendrillon's brief anime appearance and it lines up pretty well! I think in the anime one the body looks more lumpy, the beak isn't as big and its missing the wings.

Zola and Kaede. Meh, disappointed. Why is she less detailed than the doppel??? But I suppose we already kinda saw what she was gonna look like anyway, I should have prepared myself... From the anime, my favourite part was her body and it just feels kinda hard to see here, like, show me those RIBS! I wanna see them! And those big ol' arms! But they're so hidden by the background and her body mehh. Plus I think the face of the doppel is weird and creepy and that's just not there in the final... Also don't like how the horns(?) just completely differ from the doppels style. They kinda look like veins but I dunno if I like them.

Let's finish on a good one! Momoko and Elfriede! Another that's super pretty, I have few complaints. The head is horrifying and I love it and the dress is still super pretty. Only gripe is I prefer the black lace to the gold gems. My biggest gripe is the fat, bloated hand at the bottom. Why..? What was wrong with the doppel's ones? I think such a slim and elegant needed something better than a hand that looks like a balloon dog. If the fingers were longer I think it would have worked better. Honestly it could have work better had was a series. It was too face paced that its passes multiple arcs without letting it sits. Hell it completely bypass the arc Xiaotian(erlang dog. Bc i forgot how his name shorthanded to) was in

Yes the love interest had a plot but it wasn’t prioritized properly and been given to the sideline to push her in like a semi love difficult w erlang.(yes swk was there but he too much of a aroace king for the love triangle plot to affect him bad. He did bonded w her but i considered his strongest bond w erlang in the movie. He was going through it tho😭😭 man was third wheeling.

And it was bad in the end. Like idk what happened?? But they parted ways sadly.(mild spoilers but really, all u need to know what happened is that trope that happened to every swk’s love interest happened here.

Despite the tittle being called a jttw movie, it sured bypassed much of jttw stuff to tell erlang story. HELL IT WAS JUST A MENTION THAT SWK GOT HIS NAME IN THE MOVIE AND SHOWED LITTLE OF THE HAVOC HES CAUSING(erlang was happy to remeeting him tho)

Worst movie:

I have honestly now idea. I thought of the movie "Die goldene Rute" (transl.: Hot Spanking Rod). And NO, it is not porn. It's just so stupid and silly, but then I remembered that it's literally a comedy and supposed to be like that. So honestly, I can't think of the worst movie at the moment. Might come to me when I least think about it.

Favourite movie and why: I have a few favourites

Howl's Moving Castle -> simply for the beautiful story and the slow paced comfort it gives me. The slow pace in which the story progresses is such a beautiful change to the fast pace of normal movies nowadays. It's a peaceful aura thatt makes me feel like nothing bad could happen. And I always cry when Howl and Sophie fall in love, it kills me cause that's the kind of love I want to have as well. Someone who's searching for me and eventually will find me when I least expect it.

Spirited Away -> almost the same reason as Howl's Moving Castle. It's a beautifully written and executed movie with a slow pace and some great comfort moments.

Shawshank Redemption -> I'm a sucker for this drama, like no joke. The acting and the setting is just so immaculate. The question whether Andy did kill his wife or not is always there, even if there are moments where you doubt he could ever do anything criminal. But still, I just love this movie for every reason

Fight Club -> "You met me at a very strange time in my life." Probably one of my favourite movie quotes. But then again, the entire Movie is so quote-worthy, it's absolutely brilliant with the way it shifts from a dude who can't sleep to the detailed attack on consumerism and attempted destruction of all social order.

Ten Things I Hate About You -> one of the classic movies from the 90s, I love it. I know I talked to someone about this movie recently (I forgot who), but it's one of those movies I simply adore for all the right reasons. First of all, the main girl (if you can call her that) is so headstrong and independent. The premise of her falling in love doesn't equal her being saved or finding self worth or a place to belong, which is usually the case with romance. It's simply her falling in love. Sure the guy (played by the beautiful and late Heath Ledger) screws up, but he's so honest and redeems himself, he opens up and shares things he never shared. Sometime through the movie he didn't even wanna take money anymore, I think that shows his genuine intention clear, even though he got persuaded by the amount and eventually took it (bastard). But everything about this movie is so fucking great from start to finish.

One movie I'm planning to watch:

The Boy and the Heron -> mostly cause it's ghibli but I've also seen a few gifs of it and heard bits of the story which confused me so I really wanna watch it.
