WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON BIOLUMINESCENT TRITONS?!!!?! Obviously Gillion's eyes and coral already glow cause of his funky scrungly squelchy magic BUT what if... he had little glowing freckles... scales? im not fully sure how fish people work.

Your designs for Gillion and Edyn already do an amazing job of separating their underwater biology from humans like Chip and Jay (thinking of the glossy skin, the tails, and the yellow sclera/slitted eyes)- like it's very easy to tell by looking at them that while they are People they are very much FISH People. Which of course sounds pretty obvious but I mention it because a lot of triton art I see usually just looks like a blue person with gills and fins, if that makes sense.

But to expand on my original question- both Gill and Edyn are from the trench, and, in my logic, adjacent at the very least, to other deep sea creatures like anglar fish and some squids. They already have darkvision but the image of them having little hidden patterns when they get super deep in the ocean is... so cute...

im realizing after Ive written all of this that it kinda stopped being a question and started being a ramble so I do apologize :']

you know, now that you've said that the trench is deep under water im realizing that it's something i didn't actually think about. like, i remember hearing Gill say that he's from the trench, but it never actually registered in my brain that trench = deep and dark. everything makes so much sense now oh my god.... finn saying "why did they keep this from us" about the sun, because the sun simply doesn't reach to where they live...

i dont know why i imagined the capital as this bright white sunny coral reef when it should be dark and mysterious and harsh with no sunlight. bruh. it makes so much seeeense. and all the talk about strict rules for safety and foodchain and danger, because they're literally so deep there's a lot of giant spooky creatures.... hold on im having a worldview change.... oh god....

considering all this... YES bioluminescent tritons!!!!!!!!!!!! i imagine they don't glow too much, since while tritons are pretty smart they don't have a lot of natural protection from predators and attracting attention would be suboptimal. but they do have glowing parts for um... reasons. idk, they're magical creatures in a magical world.

i imagine their stripes and eyes and hair and underbellies all emit a glow in low lighting, and in complete darkness only the stripes are visible. and every triton has a unique stripe pattern or color so they're all different like that.

idk how it actually works. like, if they glow in any darkness or only in the darkness under water (although it wouldn't make a difference since they're always wet) or only when they're very deep or if they can choose when to glow or when to not, but its still a very cool detail!!!!!!!!!!! glowy fishy people yayyy

What a lovely theatre it was so beautiful in there the CEILING was so nice. The chairs were comfy too. Uh the walls? They were great also. And the floors were walkable no doubt about it

No problems with the headphones at all except for early on when they all started dancing and jumping around the sound went nuts and the music got really staticy. Not sure if we just got a fritzy night or if thats a problem theyve consistently dealt with. The second the dancing stopped though it was fine again so!

Thats a big part of what really impressed me with the sound too it felt like you could really hear how tightly controlled it was and how much attention to detail theyd put into it with switching peoples mics on and off and adjusting volume when they shouted and looping and overlaying voices. And the sound effects worked really well!!! Incredibly effective and immersive. Sidenote a lady sat in front of us was like oh theres headphones? What are these for? Like i forgot not everybody has dedicated their lives to seeing this play and knows all about it

One downside might be that the audience cant hear themselves so theres a lot of coughing and sneezing and snuffling and snorfing and at one point someones alarm went off and when macduff was doing his all my pretty chickens moment someone was genuinely hacking up a lung behind us. I wonder if thats annoying for the actors LOL i hope the donmar proshot doesnt have a lot of that in the final mix because ill just die

LOVED the use of the glass partition the way theyd have everyone seated in a row and delivering the sort of expositiony lines like i said before. Especially in the second half of macbeth theres a lot of back and forth between lots of short scenes so i really liked the way they dealt with that it never lost momentum. And when they opened the glass and started CLIMBING OUT that was so great

Actually a favourite element was how everyone would start climbing onto the stage and crawling towards macbeth and grasping out at him that was so DELICIOUSLY creepy. Shout out to rona morrison who played lady macduff the woman with the red hair in braids she would crack this extremely unsettling smile whenever she went witchy mode and my eye was always drawn to her.

I have so many macbeths to compare this to bc i watched so many this year and this one is up there as a favourite for sure. I think the descent into madness is hard to do in a way that feels natural and not hammy but we can HEAR the voices in their heads and feel the pressure they feel as everything goes weird around them and the guilt starts to eat at them. I believed it i really did!! The sort of Snap the shift between when hes seeing the dagger versus when duncans dead and hes covered in blood again. YAYYY!!!!! I especially believed his speech about banquo that sort of escalation drawn out by paranoia when hes like make THEM kings???? The SONS of banquo. KINGS??? its like here we go girls…

Also comparing it to all the other macbeths i saw its SO GOOD to have an all scottish cast LOL it really is crazy how that simple change adds so so much

Cush jumbo and her big bright eyes HER EYESSSS shes a very powerful glowy presence in her white dress i loved the way she did this sort of gesture like shes having a migraine paired with the sound and the lights sort of getting keyed up and the ghostly child behind them both and the way she did the out damned spot WAIL and how she said come come give me your hand down low and sweet like to a little kid oh my god…

Im jumping around a lot but the porter was really fun and the way they really harshly snap back into the world of the play after it was really cool like the whole scene was all in HIS head too mmmm

I love when its funny GENUINE comedy like hahaha laughing out loud. It was a rough night! So annoying when you know it could be funny but the actors like nah this is serious business or my name isnt sir kenneth charles branagh. Lets have a giggle mate it makes the frightening parts scarier it makes the tragedy more depthful lets experience the range of human emotions together come on lets go

I just want to keep saying things that worked like the music worked the lights worked the smoke worked the bit where everyones being the witches worked the one child actor playing all the children worked the banquos ghost scene REALLY worked you have DISPLACED the MIRTH the idea that the two of them are carrying a lot of baggage from war and the loss of a child really REALLY works. I think thats the best compliment i can give it like theres nothing i feel like didnt achieve what they were going for or fell short. Im really really impressed by it super super super pleased for everyone for bringing the vision to life so clearly and effectively

After chiseling away at the amber and collecting sparks of a new, warm light, finally one day the pupa shatters away, revealing an unfamiliar face...

After speaking to the very much frazzled cookie, it seems his name is Rich Honey Cookie, and that he trapped him and whatever of his closest subjects he could in amber during the decimation of his kingdom. It was a last ditch effort to try and be sure they survived the event. ...However, clearly there were complications, because nobody has ever heard of this 'Honey Kingdom'.

Once he's brought back to civilization, though, there's definitely a small group of cookies that do have memories of this kingdom, and this cookie flood back to them, as the ancients Hollyberry, Golden Cheese, Dark Cacao, and most of all Pure Vanilla reunite with an old friend.

I just spent 2 hours trying to explain my RQ Roleswap AU for my last Stevetember post haha-

Buttttt ofc I rambled so much it got confusing yayyy

SO!! Here's the uncut version! I have simply Too Much Lore and Even More Time! I hadn't even gotten into how he found out abt the multiverse through Shattered Time or TFC's relation with the roleswap or the multiverse curse and the roleswap! There's So Much! (Pain. I will never be able to explain it all)

This AU is more or less about changing unrecognizably, healing, fate/repeating history, and loops. It all begins after Sabre has spent years alone with Origin, teaching him and growing together. Sabre had changed over the years - into his god form, with wings and animalistic legs and antlers upon which crystals grow. His first god form is mostly green and white. Technically, he has 3 god forms and 3 "mortal" forms.

Origin had started creating the Steves, and becoming an independent young man. Sabre knew he wouldn't need his guidance much longer, and he couldn't reveal his true identity to the first Steves. But he hoped, maybe, something may come along and take him away. The loop, age, something. Nothing came - he realized he had to do the leaving. He worked towards creating a portal, which would close behind him. Somewhere unknown.

He wound up in the RQ Roleswap timeline - in episode 32, aka the pig episode. So already partway through the first season. He retained all his memories - and so he knew what had to do. He had to change history, and change everyone's fate. Most importantly...Orange Steve's. He can't let this all fall down again. He had to unite them all, before bringing about any heroes. He had to support everyone, give everyone room to breathe, treat them all with the love they may not deserve, but that they need. He needed to greet the world with open arms.

Anyways, yeah. That's the basis of the AU - Sabre uses his memories/experience (and carefully constructed journals) to change fate and lead with love. He goes on to warn the Steves of the future, their fates, and their choice to follow it or not. Despite his new outlook on life, he knows he isn't perfect - his past haunts his every calculated move. He tries to just experience reality as it is, but slowly that alienates him in a different way - people are so surprised to hear his thoughts behind all of it that many look up to him. All he really wants is to give everyone a choice in their fate - even his enemies - and appreciate what he has, and had, in this moment. And that mindful, kind mindset puts some people in awe.

Even before he regained his god form, Sabre was already put on a pedestal he tried to jump off of repeatedly. It's not to seem humble - he genuinely doesn't want this power, this gift of second life. But he'd never waste it - he can't let them fall again. One of his greatest accomplishments, in his opinion, is his ever-growing library of stories. Of journals others have given him, his own observations and notes, and of history books detailing stories long gone. He wants to tell everyone's story, and his library is the most important thing to him (in that sense). A daring dream that he has witnessed so much success with. He takes no interest in censorship or revealing secrets, only to make sure they are remembered. Every one of them, every person he meets, every path he has followed.

Near the end of the "main plot" of the roleswap timeline, Sabre locked up Origin (who is in TFC's role) in more chains, refusing to listen to his call. But, eventually, he starts to drift back to the past...if only his old friends could see he's finally saved them, finally been a real hero for once.

Soul and Corruption, the swaps of Time and Elemental, decide to work together to give Sabre a gift: a portal, that they hope takes Sabre back to his home timeline. He's so so excited! A chance to show that he didn't waste his new life! It lands him in the middle of the Rainbow Kingdom just before og Soul/Corrupt attempted a seige with the Darkness, aka episode 144. It takes some convincing to get RQ Light to let them stay - as not only did Soul/Corrupt come with, but so did Orange Steve, who became the 3rd hero....Void.

In the roleswap timeline, Sabre looks more like Shadow Sabre, while Crystal Sabre (the Shabre of the timeline) is brightly colored. The crystals replace the darkness, being amalgamations of infectious gems, so bright they can set things ablaze with sunlight. Sigils are the new crystals, being darker colored just like the main color Steves. In this world, the shadows are comforting and kind, while the light is deadly and violent. (Though no, they aren't really nocturnal...I might change that eventually). Naturally, the Steves have dark skin tones and eyes, looking all too much like the darkness infected. Similar can be said of the og timeline in comparison to the Crystal infected, though ofc the infections are a lot more frightening. You could consider it to be the first stage of infection, I guess.

In the roleswap timeline, there is a specific set of swaps, that change how Sabre is recieved in the og timeline. It goes like this: Prof. Red, Rainbow Red. Void, Rainbow. Soul/Corrupt, Time/Elemental. Assistant Steve, Hypno. The First Curse, Origin. Galaxy, Nightmare. Ultra, Chaos. Faceless, Great Librarian, Ghost. Shadow, Sabre. Sigils, Crystals, Darkness. (For trios, just move them one to the right, that's the role they take on)

This goes beyond Rainbow Quest itself. Twisted Rainbow and Steve Legends are affected, too. There are two TR roleswap timelines. The first one, which TR Shadow/Elite ends up in, only switches he and Sabre's roles. The second one is a semi-shitpost idea turned canon and is completely wild. Btw, the first name takes the second name's role. It goes: Shadow, The Great One. TFC, Sabre. Sabre, Twisted. Twisted, M. Prof. Red, Hypno. M, TFC. (Yeah, that last one was intentionally an insane choice). TR is also the only universe whose roleswap still has normal Color Steves, simply because Twisted/Darkness is already an important motif/split as it is.

Sabre's, the main, FIRST Sabre's, story is split into several acts. Act 1: changing fate, where he repeats RQ with a new ending. Act 2: old friends, where he returns to the og timeline, and defeats TFC/swap Origin with his newest god form. Act 3: reliving history, where Sabre mentors Colle through his swapped timeline. Act 4: domain expansion, in which Sabre discovers the multiverse and is determined to save EVERYONE from evil. Act 5: returning home, in which Sabre, now caring for a whole multiverse, finally creates a portal to Earth, but has he changed too much? Act 6: doubled over, another shitpost idea made canon, in which Sabre gets stuck in a version of the RQ timeline which has both the og and swap versions, where the world is changing quickly, mimicking the og story, and where Sabre's desire to give everyone a choice in fate is tested.

I've had the AU for awhile before I listened to Epic, but the musical has inspired me to create for it, as well as consider the overarching themes!! So the first drawing, the dual timeline "mortal" form, is basically Sabre at the end of the au, as he becomes a fused form of the swap and og timelines' versions of himself. His crazy outfit is made of bits and bobs from people he meets, sometimes he adds stuff inspired by people around him, but a lot is just gifts he's recieved. He has a goopy Darkness horn and a sharp crystal horn, and a fluffy colorful tail and a sharp black tail. His eyes depict his former infection of crystals/darkness.

Drawing 2, in the upper right with Sabre's arms out in front of him, is meant to be him midway thru act 1. Where he willingly infects himself with the crystals, which are like the darkness, in order to be able to fight Rainbow (who created the infectious crystals, aka the Void of the timeline). Crystal/Shadow Sabres would probably be saying the lyrics to him.

Drawing 3, with the big barrier sigil over Sabre and the Steves, is based on act 6 of the au. He gets the Hypbo variants to help him create the barrier sigil to keep the Steves from changing unexpectedly due to the strange nature of their timeline (its Complicated, but the world is basically changing in accordance w/ the og timeline w/o anyone doing anything). This barrier, as well as the smaller, jewelry-based variants, protects them from time/space basically going by quickly. However, Sabre's insistence on keeping everyone from changing can be seen as almost manipulative, which is why he's saying the lyrics there. He can't give them the choice, not when the world is changing them without them actually doing anything. But by keeping them inside the barrier, he's refusing to let them experience it. So uh...yeah. Complicated.

SORRY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR THE PREVIOUS FRIDAY BUT!! I WAS COOKING FOR THIS ONE.

I have decided to draw a family tree of my khajiit!! Without their respective spouses, for now, because they aren't as important for this/in general. Basically the important members of the family only for now xD

Also, as a side note, only Djai and Eric's designs are final, others are a rough sketch only.

At the top is (Ma')Eric, aka my nerevarine!! I'll ramble about his entire backstory sometime later. I have an outline of his backstory, but I haven't finished morrowind yet and I will complete his backstory once I finish it so it's as lore accurate as possible. x3

Long story short, he has twins, but has to give them away for their own safety because he himself gets death threats basically daily- and his children were already kidnapped once. Also he just doesn't have time, like, at all to care for them. Both twins are ohmes-raht btw!! [possibly. . . with the mix of some dunmer in there. . . but shhh. . . spoilers]

The one of the left ends up in an orphanage in Cyrodiil, before getting adopted by some necromancers. Again gonna ramble more about them later, but I have something planned for them already!!

The other one ends up in Elsweyr, and gets raised by a regular family. He actually has no idea that he is adopted his whole life, I mean, nobody told him and he had no reason to suspect that. He's also, like, a pretty shitty person. Has a talent for magic but never really uses it outside of charming people for his own gain.

He has two children, Murrsea [The one on the left, with a scar on her face] and Djai [the one on the right], Murrsea being two years younger than Djai.

Already rambled about Djai, so going to ramble about Murrsea, but in a more 'meta' way first.

Murrsea is actually really important to me!! She was a shared OC with one of my parents, I helped create and name her a long long time ago when they were playing skyrim and I wanted to watch them play [that was the first time I've ever seen an elder scrolls game, I didn't even know what it was back then]. Since they're not really into OC stuff, though, and they know that I am, they gifted Murrsea to me after finishing skyrim!! :'D Murrsea is also a mage [Duh, everyone in their family is. At least everyone in their family has a natural talent for magic]. She is pretty well-known for killing a dragon once (not completely ofc because she couldn't take its soul), and it was actually rumored she was the dragonborn. She, however, isn't the dragonborn- She's just a really really great battle mage. She took Djai's place when he resigned from being the archmage, and that's kind of what she does now.

I think that's all? Apologies for any mistakes. And once again, a lot of stuff I've written here will likely change later, but the core elements will likely stay.

Hickey Queen - Josh Dun x Reader

It was one of those nights where everything felt electric. The energy from the crowd poured into the backstage area, and I could tell from Josh’s expression that he was absolutely buzzing. I watched him under the dim lights, laughing with the crew, his bright hair poking out from under his beanie, eyes crinkling at the corners in that way that always made my heart flip.

I bit my lip, knowing he’d have to be on stage soon, but I couldn’t shake the itch to get him alone for just a second. Josh had this gravitational pull for me; no matter how many times we’d been here—traveling, watching, hanging out backstage—I wanted him more every day. I wasn’t subtle about it either. 

“Hey, come here,” I murmured, nodding my head toward the side door. Josh raised an eyebrow but immediately followed, like he knew exactly what I had in mind.

“Right now?” he whispered, grinning. “I’m on in, like, five minutes.”

“That’s plenty of time.” I pulled him into the hallway, barely waiting until the door clicked behind us. The noise from the crowd dimmed, replaced by the faint hum of equipment and that comforting silence that belonged to just us.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, tugging him down toward me. “You know you can’t get rid of me that easily,” I whispered, grinning against his lips.

Josh laughed, low and soft, and I could feel his hands sliding down to my waist, steadying me as he leaned in. “I don’t think I’d want to, honestly,” he replied. His voice was warm, teasing, and his eyes held that familiar spark I loved.

Our kiss started slow, with his lips pressing lightly against mine, almost as if he was daring me to push for more. And of course, I did. I deepened the kiss, fingers twisting in his hoodie, pulling him closer like I could never get enough.

I felt the slightest nip of his teeth, and I knew that familiar game of his had begun. He loved to see how far I’d take things when he was about to go on stage. But the low, barely-there hum of his breath against my neck told me he liked it just as much as I did.

“Good luck out there,” I said, smiling as I pulled back just enough to catch my breath.

Josh smirked, brushing a thumb over my cheek. “I’d say you’re my lucky charm, but I don’t know if this is exactly what people mean by that.”

“Lucky in love,” I replied, giving him a wink. He laughed, rolling his eyes, and took a deep breath before letting me pull him back toward the green room. We emerged just in time to hear Tyler calling for him.

“Josh! Come on, man! We’ve got a sold-out show tonight!” Tyler’s voice echoed, and he threw a dramatic look our way as Josh jogged toward him, fixing his beanie.

The show kicked off with a burst of lights and sound, and I found myself caught in the atmosphere. Watching Josh play always gave me chills, but tonight, I was especially wrapped up in him. My eyes traced his every move, his focused expression, the way he bit his lip when he played. He was so in his element, so completely absorbed, and somehow, it made me want him even more.

Halfway through the set, though, something happened that made my stomach drop—and then flare with embarrassment.

Tyler and Josh were doing a bit between songs, talking to the crowd, and Josh leaned down, wiping sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. Tyler tilted his head, squinting, and I immediately noticed the mischievous gleam in his eye.

“Hey, Josh,” Tyler called, his voice booming through the mic. “What’s that on your neck?”

The crowd’s murmurs turned into laughter, and I felt my cheeks heat up. Josh, clueless, just blinked, giving Tyler a look of pure confusion. He glanced down at his arm, as if he was trying to see if there was something on him, and Tyler just laughed harder.

“No, no, right there,” Tyler continued, pointing directly at Josh’s neck. “Is that…a hickey?”

Josh’s face went through a series of expressions—confusion, realization, and finally, a smirk as his gaze flicked to the side of the stage where I was standing. I knew that look. Oh, he was going to make me pay for this one.

I shifted uncomfortably, feeling like the heat from the spotlight had somehow found me, even in the shadows. But then, embarrassment melted into pride, and I lifted my chin slightly, biting back a grin. So what if everyone knew? Josh was mine, and I’d leave as many marks as I wanted.

“That’s none of your business, Tyler,” Josh replied, chuckling, and even though he tried to be casual, I saw the blush creeping up his cheeks. He laughed along with the crowd, raising his sticks in mock surrender as Tyler continued to tease him.

“Dude, seriously,” Tyler pressed, not letting it go. “Isn’t it enough to play the drums? You’re coming in here with battle wounds now?”

The laughter from the crowd grew, and Josh shook his head, playfully rolling his eyes at Tyler before giving a small shrug as if to say, what can you do?

I knew then that I’d never hear the end of it from Tyler. He’d tease us both relentlessly, but I couldn’t bring myself to care. I felt a ridiculous sense of pride, knowing that mark was mine.

The rest of the show went on, with Tyler throwing in the occasional joke about “dedicated fans” and “overly affectionate girlfriends,” which only made Josh and me exchange quick, amused glances. Every time his eyes met mine, I felt like I was back in that quiet hallway, wrapped up in our own little world.

After the final song, I waited at the side of the stage, grinning as Josh came off, sweaty and exhausted but looking happier than ever. Tyler walked past, patting Josh on the back and giving me an exaggerated wink, as if he hadn’t just put us both through the wringer.

“Nice work out there, Hickey Queen,” he said with a laugh, and I rolled my eyes, giving him a light shove.

Josh just chuckled, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and pulling me close. “What can I say?” he murmured in my ear, his voice low and teasing. “Guess I’m just in high demand.”

“Oh, I think you’ve known that for a while,” I replied, grinning up at him. “You didn’t have to make it so obvious, though.”

Josh leaned down, pressing a quick kiss to my cheek. “You’re one to talk.”

We found ourselves slipping away from the post-show bustle, back to the quiet hallway that had become our hiding spot. Josh leaned back against the wall, pulling me close, and I couldn’t help but feel that same surge of pride. Tyler could tease all he wanted—Josh was mine, and I didn’t mind sharing that fact with the world.

“You know,” Josh said, brushing a strand of hair from my face, “we’re probably going to hear about this for the rest of the tour.”

I grinned, sliding my hands around his neck again. “Let them talk,” I replied, pulling him down for another kiss. “It just means they know how lucky I am.”

And in that moment, wrapped up in his arms with the echoes of the crowd fading away, I felt it—lucky didn’t even begin to cover it.

i have a concept for a schmookie fanfic, but i know my ADHD will make it really hard to execute, so here’s the concept if anyone wants to snag it 🎉🎉 (copy pasted from my personal discord server

basically, Jackbox Games Inc. is a huge office where all of the hosts go to to host their games.

Some hosts like The Quizkiller, Captain Chuckhill, and the Champ’d Up Host don’t need to stay there cuz their hosting locations are outside of Jackbox Games Inc. So they only clock in and clock out.

Cookie just got freed from the simulation, and doesn’t really like talking to other people. He either doesn’t know the other hosts or is mildly annoyed by them.

Well, this applies to everyone but Schmitty, of course.

Back in the earlier party packs, the two used to hang out a LOT. They were incredibly close, and care about eachother deeply.

Cookie was about to tell Schmitty how he felt, but before he could, Binjpipe happened. And well, the two didn’t speak to eachother again for 3 years because Cookie got stuck in a simulation.

But now that Cookie is finally free, he’s trying his best to recover his friendship with Schmitty and possibly turn their friendship into something greater.

I can imagine other hosts affecting the plot, like the Champ’d Up host trying to make Cookie be more confident in his feelings, or something of the like.

I want this fanfic to have little to no angst elements. Not because I hate angst, but because I can’t handle it (i’m a pussy).

Oh, and my stupid ass Jackbox Self-Insert (that i never talk about), Fibby “The Sun” Livington, will play a pretty heavy role.

(oh yeah, her nickname is The Sun because she hosts a space themed jackbox game where the players are the planets of the solar system and the audience are the moons.)

So, yeah. That’s basically my idea. It’s painfully simple, but I like it, tbh.

12. Electra is their much younger half sibling :)) to her, they're both the cool, distant older siblings away at college who sometimes visit to break you out of school for a day. Someday I hope to draw them all doing sibling things and goofing off. Also: this Rumpleteazer headcannon literally came to me when I fell asleep in class so it literally came to me in a vision: she has curls. Loose, coily curls that are a little above her shoulders and swish back and forth when she shakes her head. I will be waiting for a production to use this. I expect to be financially compensated for my contribution.

I ADORE the original designs from productions in the 1980s. Rumpleteazers lil unitard is so goddamn cute I adore it so much!!! I think Mungojerrie with the darker colors looks so cool, and I love it when productions mess around with the color scale for the two of them. I understand why productions would get rid of Rumple’s leotard, but it makes me just a little sad, because I think it’s so pretty.

Honorable mention goes to Tecklenburg, ofc. While the designs aren’t my favorite, I do rly like the Bonnie and Clyde vibe they’ve got going on, I think it’s super fun!

im giving her a redemption arc instead of keeping her evil because i think thats what the writers were aiming for,,, it just didnt turn out well :/

also i feel like keeping her as a villain would be way easier so i wanna do the opposite >:)

in this version shes only working for the overlord because he brought her back to life and she doesnt want to die again

a lot less cruel; shows genuine regret over her actions 

still doesnt like lloyd, but willing to work with him to get rid of the overlord

refused to explode the ninja in ep 14 which led to the overlord replacing her with clouse (yes. clouse is here) as his second in command

some shit happens with pythor and harumi finds out that he freed the great devourer. harumi gets pissed and decides to betray the overlord

instead of lloyd escaping on his own harumi helps free him and they escape the temple together. emotional conversation ensues. harumi officially leaves the council and becomes an ally

shes down fighting with the main gang during the climax instead of at the overlord’s floating island thing

after helping to rebuild the monastery she pulls a garmadon and goes off on her own to go on a journey of healing and self-reflection or whatever

or she goes to jail and then goes on a journey of healing and self-reflection or whatever. consequences babeyyyyy

i mean i could also just keep her as a villain

i feel like that would be a lot easier. not rewriting a lot here since keeping her evil takes way less effort than giving her a legitimate redemption arc

lloyd doesnt take her with him when he leaves the temple she just jumps out after him. because she is insane <3

it was built up to be this huge thing and we got like five seconds of him??? unacceptable. where is my boy??? let him be angry and go feral and destroy stuff he deserves it

while escaping the council lloyd goes partial oni. he only realizes this once he ends up in the river, which ends up freaking him out, which ends up with him being unable to revert back to Normal Human Form. not full oni at this point hes just got like. the horns and fangs and stuff

post battle he still keeps the horns and stuff. its part of his acceptance arc or whatever. im a very big fan of creacher lloyd okay

lloyd’s problem with his father learning empathy is less focused on the fact that he’s part oni and more focused on the fact that he was literally brought back as a violent destructive overlord hellbent on murdering his son and conquering ninjago

i get rid of the birthday card line. like i get the significance behind it but you could have picked literally anything else??? turned the emotional moment around real fast 

also lloyd and garmadon get a better reconciliation arc instead of just arguing Forever

Angie you just made me cry with your Saturdays analysis. The first time I listened to it, it felt like the song was about losing someone and not just in the way of breaking up but more permanent you know? And you just put all of that so eloquently and I agree with so much of what you said there. I thought it was about Jay but it makes sense to be about his sister as well. This song was the one I was crying my heart out to when I heard it live, and it probably will always remain that way.

His songwriting just takes you places where he imagines and makes you feel so many emotions. Especially nostalgia. It's the worst feeling ever (at least to me) because it's always so intense and he makes me feel that with so many of his songs! It's why I always connect so deeply to his lyrics and why his voice has so much effect on me. His voice just makes the feeling so much more real cause he's so raw in the songs.

Anyways sorry for the rant. I just love Saturdays and after the concerts I literally can't stop listening to it and crying everytime.

If you don’t mind I will add this to our little Saturdays mental breakdown. You said the perrrfect word: nostalgia. I wrote something about nostalgia in Louis songs and Tumbrl is being kind enough to help me find that post yayyy so I will quote myself lol

The word nostalgia comes from Greek and it contains two words: νοστος and αλγος. It used to indicate the pain (algos) of the return (vostos). It describes the emotional ache of missing something you can’t have and the strive to have it again. […]

The modern use of the word nostalgia is a bit different and it applies to situations that have changed, that somehow stay in the past. You can’t go back to them (and if you try nostalgia gets even deeper). Usually it applies to feelings, emotional states, places. It’s a very mature feeling and I love it. Louis seems to consider it a lot in his music too: «Yeah, it was one of the keywords that kept coming up conceptually was 'change'. 'Changes' and 'Choices' for whatever reason. I think I've got to that age in my life where there is a lot of change happening around me. And also, across a few of the songs on the record there is an element of nostalgia as well which is obviously also related to change so it kind of just happened naturally, really.»

it has been five million billion years since Feli's Ninjago Season Review, but i just finished crystalized. so.

tldr. i watched the first part Some Time Ago and dont recall how i felt outside of "yeah i liked it", the middle section of the season rlly dragged, but the last bit was really good

iirc my main complaint with the nya rescue arc was how it absolutely TRASHED skylor. she BARELY had any speaking lines and was basically just there as a Back Up Zane to keep nya from melting and i hated that. however the last third of the season rectified this by giving her an actual cool moment when she rescues kai and cole, as well as an actual character moment.

like you have the pixane and jaya reunions back to back so kai's talking with skylor again, he still likes her, he tries to ask her out, and she rejects him on grounds of "dude do you know how long it's been?" and both sides here are understandable. like yeah considering everything that happened the past seasons kai rlly didn't have time for a relationship but also skylor is RIGHT to be frustrated he just wants to go back to like. s7. after so long. and it gives the sense that things between them COULD work but they need some time to be friends again first. i like that.

generally all the canon couples were great ESPECIALLY in the last third. the ice emperor as an insane comedy bit was fantastic actually and also rlly funny how pixal just didnt even grieve this time. she did that in s12 already she's just gonna go fix him up np. HOWEVER when her backup squad gets ready to roll and zane isnt repaired yet and she has this monologue abt how zane's sacrifice for her made her more than just a machine and showed her love and she loves him SO much and she gives him a lil kiss and leaves and then he wakes up. i dont CARE if true love's kiss is nonsense for robots it was CUTE i love pixane

"If there is a life after this for beings such as you and I... I will find you there." AURGH paraphrasing the quote here but do you SEE why pixal is my favorite ninjago character ever. i love her so much. my pixal stan instincts got reactivated i did nearly cry at that scene.

third couple jaya also has cute moments. the season shows a lot how they make each other stronger and cover each other's doubts and jay's encouragement giving nya the confidence she needs to regain her abilities is just cute. you can see a lot of skybound-isms esp in how the mechanic ends up goading her saying she's not a "real" ninja (like e.g. how she doesnt get a dragon form) but she kicks his ass anyway cuz it doesnt matter whether she has powers it matters that she gives her all always <3 yayyy

ok next up talking abt MY GIRL HARUMI YEEHAW.

i like her arc this season there's a lot of conflicting elements to her. first of that she for real just DIED is extremely interesting. there's always a juxtaposition of what harumi believed and what was actually true (her thinking lloyd never looked for her when he actually spent so long sifting through rubble the others had to drag him off cuz they had to go find the oni) and i think the climax of that being her hearing from the horse's mouth that the ninja (and lloyd) were never responsible for all she blamed them for was great. like already she was torn on lloyd and i feel like her in the jungle with lloyd seeing that she CANT win his trust back ever again like this did actually like. affect her on some level. she cant trick him anymore she has to live with the consequences of her actions and see that she fucked up. good. her dynamic with the overlord obvs parallels her dynamic with garmadon in s8/9 in how she's his right hand most competent underling whatever but whereas she admired garmadon she doesnt like the overlord and helps him out of fear for her continued existence cuz he DID give her life again and he could take it away just as easily.

but in that sense garmadon initially gave her "life" back too when her parents died and she needed something to hold onto so her opposing the overlord finally means she's taking the reigns and acting without some grand figure in mind but just for herself and what she believes is right

okay next up lloyd. lloyd is SO fucking bitter and angry this season which is a contributing factor to the dark (tiring) tone of the middle third and it does grate but it's understandable. i know some people dont like his new dynamic with garmadon cuz it basically retcons sensei garm who we all love yadda yadda but the new garmadon does have to be seen as his own independant character and if you do he's pretty compelling. anyway lloyd's anger. lloyd fucking HATES garmadon in this which is Delicious. obviously consequence of the hunted trilogy and i like that. lloyd is OVER grieving what could've been and what he lost. he hates what remains and he doesn't want anything to do with garmadon.

except garmadon is showing signs of change. that even though the good part of him remains dead that what's left can still recover and learn compassion and i think why that frustrates lloyd so much is that he hates that this compassion doesn't extend to himself. that though garmadon cares about other things now garmadon still doesnt care about lloyd. lloyd wants that young innocent part of him that always adored his dad to be dead and gone because becoming what was left of his father was his greatest fear for a LONG time now (firmly established in season 11!). but that part is still there. he still loves his dad and hates him at the same time and that's confusing and upsetting him.

christofern is a lloyd analogy obviously. like back in ye old days of the early seasons, lloyd was the only thing garmadon cared about and the catalyst for garmadon's first redemption. even when lloyd withers he comes back. he tries again. ninja never quit just like that damn fern never dies yeah <3

garmadon and lloyd are BOTH kings of poor emotional awareness in crystalized since garm is struggling to even understand compassion and kindness and love at all that he cant see that the part of him that loves lloyd isnt dead either. but the main part of him is just yelling "the green ninja is an enemy." lloyd gets FED UP cuz like if my dad called the girl who tried to murder me like a daughter when ignoring me i'd hate him too. but garm being so mean to lloyd to help lloyd with oni form is garmadon trying to care about him by making him stronger. and since oni form thrives on negativity garm is giving lloyd fuel. obviously this sucks ass and is bad for their personal relationship.

the interesting switch here is in the finale when garm gets lloyd to oni form by pretending to be dead cuz it shows on both their parts an awareness that they love each other. lloyd by showing anger over his father's supposed death and garm by knowing that faking his death would actually work. it means he knows lloyd still cares abt him. then again lloyd is SO fuckin right again to insult garm over this bcuz. dude. that is still emotional manipulation committed with few regrets and lloyd has had enough of that for a lifetime. king of getting manipulated and trying so hard to stay kind despite getting fucked over so often. pythor harumi garmadon. etc etc.

right what else. i cant fucking believe the season made ronin good again GOD BLESS in undoing some of the island's many sins. thank you for showing ronin isn't as selfish as he appears to be and showing up to help the ninja again cuz it's just the right thing to do. thank youuuuu

all the character cameos were great. again skylor (with some caveats), ronin, racer seven!!!! she was so fun!!! blazey hi!!! you're insane!!!!. using vinny's convo with garm from s10 (the best scene in march of the oni, actually) to springboard all of garm's redemption arc bcuz it DID deeply affect garm even in s10 and by extension making vinny a major supporting character. hilarious. fantastic. incredible. oh my god they were roommates.

i also always love the paperboys when they appear. can you BELIEVE they started out as "the random kid who broke his arm in skybound." ah how far they've come. thank you nelson and antonia for being great.

the other camoes at the end were EPIC N COOL like i do like that cole n nya succeeded despite thinking they'd failed cuz it plays into the never give up message but i AM disappointed that none of the cameos got ANY speaking lines cuz (voice actors cost money)

like no little quips no nice to see you again. not even vania fighting her dad? no benthomaar. the whole crew from across basically all of wildbrain era + some extras (how many seasons has it been since cole's dad appeared onscreen?) gave an incredible upswing to the dreariness but it just rings hollow when they dont even get to make noise. dead silent. eerie.

uhhh what else. again i think most of from after harumi and lloyd leave the jungle to wu meeting up with the paperboys fucking DRAGGED cuz it was just one loss after another after another after another and at some point its like DUDE WE GET IT YOU'RE INVINCIBLE. CAN WE GET THE MCGUFFIN ALREADY. but once wu got that upswing and the ninja all had their own little adventures it was good again and a consistently good time for the rest of the season i was enjoying it.

i agree that it def feels like lloyd's arc this season isn't rlly resolved at all. he doesn't embrace his anger or his heritage and is still firmly stuck on denying parts of himself. bcuz lloyd kept denying WHY he's angry and just dancing around it it only got worse. the other ninja had nice cap off points. the other one with the biggest arc is nya but her development mirrors s11 kai (as so helpfully pointed out by jay himself lmao) which ends with nya knowing once again that she doesnt need to be special to be needed and harkens back to ye old conflict "if I'm not a ninja and i'm not samurai x anymore, then who am i?" you're NYA and you're cool as hell that's what. she doesn't need to be anything as long as she can just DO what she has to do.

whereas lloyd is again still just. right in the middle of it.

i do like the ending of garmadon putting the fern in the ground bcuz again lloyd metaphor it means he acknowledges that lloyd's friendships aren't a weakness ("You need roots") and also symbolically he's letting go of lloyd instead of chasing the shadow of the child lloyd used to be. good stuff.

so. season has it's good moments has it's bad moments. it needed some time to find its footing but i like the callbacks to other seasons (A SUPRISING AMOUNT OF SKYBOUND THEMATICS??? a lot of this is skybound but better) and once it did find its footing it was really good.

master of the mountain is still my favorite season though.

Only Kiefer wants to use the Deadly Sins to play chess with the dragon thing! Noooo!

He summoned a table and two chairs, sat down, and then transformed the Deadly Sins into chess pieces.

"Oh look at that," Captain Obvious said. "We're missing one piece," The king. They're missing the most important piece, the king.

So Kiefer decided to summon one himself with his own blood. Eh whatever.

And then dragon thing manifested a human form, sat down and prepared his own magical chess pieces too to start playing.

And then Xiao Ming and entire squad was just sitting there watching Kiefer's and dragon things' passive-aggresive roasting be like:

K: "You should know that the reason I decided to wage war on you... pawn to E4.

D: "...btw, my name is Izanami, pawn to D5."

K: "So you do know why we're waging war on you. Pawn to C4."

I: "Pawn to C6. Can I say, why are you playing this game instead of just killing me? Hmm? Oh, I do wonder..."

K: "Oh? Isn't there meant to be some kind of hidden power in the Deadly Sins? Knight to F3."

I: "Well, yes, but...why play this game? Knight to F6."

K: "Because I need to win this in order to unlock the power, don't I? Knight to C3."

I: "...Pawn to E6."

K: "Oh? Why so quiet now? Well, if you're at a loss for words, let's talk about...why you destroyed the furry village then! Bishop to G5."

I: "I didn't destroy it, someone used the power of the Deadly Sins to force me to! Pawn to H6."

K: "Yes yes yes whatever, whatever helps you sleep at night. Bishop to H4."

And then Xiao Ming and squad fell asleep watching their boring chess game and passive aggresive roasting. Until-

But heng ah. When Kiefer realised he was being checkmated liao, he quickly take the Deadly Sins, transform them back into black diamonds, and then forced it into a visible portal (because clearly he doesn't have enough power to close the portal yet)

"HAHAHAHAHHA! Oh, it's cute that you think that CAN STOP ME!"

And then Izanami immediately rushed forward to where the portal was and tried to steal the seven Deadly Sins from him.

But of course Kiefer also try to run away. And also the others tried to slow or kill Izanami.

Freya rushed forward and directed her sword at him. Then he threw a magically charged shot at her. Then Xiao Hua tried to deflect it back to him, but it just ended up creating another portal to end up hitting him, Grandmaster, Xiao Kang, Zhi Hua, Aniya, and the furry pheonix and lion and fox. Wah it hit and took out a lot of people sia.

"FUCK U LAH! CHAO CIBAI!" Zhi Hua screamed at Xiao Hua.

"Sorry..."

Six charged up his lightning sword with dark energy and swirled it with water, wind and ice energy too. Wah never knew he could wield so many elements sia. I guess water is stormy weather, wind is tornados, and ice is blizzard? Idk

Anyway then he did manage to hit Izanami with his super-electro-charged lightning bolt but then all it did to him was just like: PEW! *has a mild 5 second seizure* "Oh I'm sorry you were saying?"

Whoops. Then Juqla and Tempest tried to be big brain and shoot him from afar with a bow and gun respectively I guess lmao.

But then of course it didn't work. He just like grabbed the arrow and bullet and just flung it back at them like PEW! *grabs the bullet mid-flight and then flings it back*

And then he went ahead and killed more people.

So basically everyone except Xiao Ming is half-dead. Well that's not good.

So of course it's up to Xiao Ming to save the day. Ya'll pussies can't do one simple thing without needing Xiao Ming to co-

So anyway he swooped in, drew his sword, and...got hit by a volt of magic before he can even start properly fighting yet.

And then Izanami took his sword and continously stabbed him (per se New York man who gets stabbed every 52 seconds)

And then after he was done having fun stabbing Xiao Ming he used Xiao Ming's blood and paralysed Kiefer and stopped him however far he had run.

"Finally," Izanami said as he slowly walked over to Kiefer, sneering at him as he passed him by, "All that trouble just for seven black stones. Haiya, ya'll all so mafan one leh,"

Then he reached forward to the portal and used his divine elemental power, and forced the Deadly Sins out of the portal.

But wait-why the hell did that hurt for him?

"Oh and by the way, I should tell you one last thing before you ascend to godhood and all or idk," said Xiao Ming half-dead at some random corner.

"WHAT THE HELL IS IT?" Izanami was getting impatient now.

"All that you've seen, is but an illusion."

WAIT-

XIAO MING! HIS BASE POWER AS A TURBIDUS! DREAMWALKING AND CREATING ILLUSIONS IN OTHER PEOPLE'S MINDS AND DREAMS! HOLY SHIT-

"Wait huh-" Izanami questioned, then almost immediately his entire surroundings began to melt away and reveal his real surroundings.

And it also revealed what he really pulled out and why it had hurt-his Exuvian Anodyne.

Well, what Xiao Ming had read from Izanami's memories was that that was the core strength of every Exuvia, and grants them divine power far stronger than their already powerful selves. But the only way to take it was if the Exuvia gave it up themselves or another stronger more powerful Exuvia were to take it with their powers (which Xiao Ming clearly isn't).

So essentially Xiao Ming and gang just tricked him into forcing it out himself. The source of all his power, man. The source of all his power. The source of all an Exuvia's power. Man.

And then before Izanami had time to react, he felt his stomach get pierced by something extremely sharp from behind. Must have been a sword of some kind-it's always the swords.

*camera pans to the right* Reveals Izanami's shocked face accompanied by-while holding his sword used to stab Izanami in place, Xiao Ming's smug as fuck face.

I live in Maharashtra so its hot most of the time especially where i live. But I love it so I don't mind much. And maybe it's just me but rainy/cold days make me much less productive so I prefer a clear weather :D

Shinchan Doraemon and Ninja Hattori were in their peak eras when I was a kid . Although I will argue Shinchan is NOT a kid's cartoon fkfkf but yeah they were my favorites ( still are heheheh) . And random power rangers shows as well 😭 . They used to play doraemon right before I went to school and then shinchan when I came back so it brings back a lot of nostalgia as well.

Something I'm excited about.... Well I'm excited to give everyone's gifts this Christmas. It's my first job and first time I've been able to truly spend on my family so that's exciting. I'm excited for all the fics I'll hopefully manage to write next year! What about you?

okay, okay, I think I have something...

CW: religion, religious trauma (I'm going for vaguely christian here, possibly catholic but don't quote me I don't remember my upbringing), abuse, homophobia, discrimination, torture, a bit of descriptive violence, death, this one isn't really for the faint of heart- sorry.

Grian is transfem in this but... not yet. So he/him for this segment but pretty soon after this bit she transes her gender yayyy <3 Also this became a grumbo AU with future mumscarian potential.

I'm not sure I even stuck with my own original concept but something insane happened here... sorry.

A... modern (?) society, not set in a minecraft-type world or anything like that. Some fantasy elements we will get into later.

Grian is raised in a small, very religious community. He's okay with this, doesn't really know any different, and is a good kid. "Raised right", with good manners, honest values, and a spark of creativity and joy that makes him a good farmhand. Out on the land, he spends his time helping his family harvest crops and tend animals, whilst occasionally attending church for schooling.

He's young - twelve, maybe - when he has his first vision. It's a normal day in the fields, checking the cabbage crop, and then suddenly he's somewhere else. Thousands, millions, uncountable numbers of eyes staring down at him. Like he's the most insignificant thing in the world. They speak to him, but he can't remember what they say.

Ever a good kid, he rushes to tell the local pastor, trembling and crying. He's told it was just a nightmare, but to pray away the devil anyway, because there must be something evil inside him. He's stuck praying for an hour before he's allowed to go home.

The visions are few and far between, but after the first, they make themselves more known. Grian doesn't know how to explain the horrific things he sees. Sometimes, it feels so real, it makes him sick. He tells his parents that God is talking to him. They say that it's a blessing. Grian doesn't agree.

At fifteen, he gets his first prophetic vision. He's talking to one of his mother's friends, who is chastising him for his slipping attendance at the church school. She's going on and on about how her son left when he was eighteen, and never writes home, and Grian really should think about his future...

And then he sees something puncture through her chest. Something invisible stabbing through her lungs, breaking ribs, making her collapse in a lifeless heap. He screams.

Then reality snaps back into view. The woman is staring at him, speechless, and Grian feels rather embarrassed. He apologises, saying his visions have been plaguing him more and more lately. The whole community has heard of them by now, some labeling Grian as possessed by the devil, not wanting him near the church, others claiming he has been blessed by God.

He explains the vision to the woman, because he has never had a reason to lie - lying is a sin - and she is horrified. He apologises again. It doesn't stop her from telling everyone.

A week later, the woman falls from a tree and is impaled by a branch while picking apples.

Grian is ostracised. They think he is possessed, or evil, or a bad omen, or under the demonic control of Hell. His parents don't let the community kick Grian out entirely, but he is barred from stepping foot in the church. The pastor continues to visit Grian's house every few weeks, trying various methods of cleansing - from a second baptism to prayer to trying to beat the devil out of him - yet nothing works. Grian's visions continue, and they become more terrifying, more graphic, more horrible every time.

Without school, Grian spends increasing amounts of time in the fields, working. He likes to visit the chickens, their presence acting as a sort of calm in Grian's upset mind. He can't shake the feeling that beyond the visions, and newer feelings of being watched, there is some other thing wrong with him... under it all.

He's eighteen, when he first sees the man in the woods. His parents' farm is bordered on one side by woodland, and Grian spends a lot of time out there away from everyone. And, well, one day he sees someone else.

The man is a little older than him, but not as old as the "proper" adults in Grian's village. He's very awkward after Grian spots him and immediately calls him out, sticking to the darkness of the forest rather than stepping out into the farmland. He introduces himself, stuttering, as Mumbo. Grian tells him that's a weird name, and they shouldn't be friends, because Grian is possessed by the devil.

Grian is not really sure if he believes that he's possessed, but that's what everyone says, so... he goes along with it. Mumbo tells him the possession thing isn't really a problem. He doesn't believe in the devil, himself.

The statement takes Grian aback. He... didn't know you could just not believe. He asks Mumbo to say more. So, Mumbo does, explaining that not everyone believes in God. The whole concept kind of blows Grian's mind.

When he goes home that evening and tries to tell his parents, they beat him until he's quiet and tell him to never converse with strange men in the woods. It seems obvious when they put it that way. He goes to bed hungry and nursing a few bruises.

Only a day later, Mumbo is there in the woods again, eager to talk with Grian. And, to his credit, Grian tries to avoid conversation. He tells the truth when Mumbo asks about his bruises, and Mumbo seems horrified. Grian clarifies that he deserved it for trying to disrespect God.

Mumbo once again says there is no God, and if there is, he wouldn't very well like one of his people getting hurt. Grian considers it, but... he's always been hurt. Disobeying means pain. And it was fine because he was bad. If it was wrong to hurt him, even if he was bad, that would mean-

No. He stops the thought there. But that doesn't mean he stops talking to Mumbo.

That's the problem with Mumbo. He's hard to shake, really, once he's attached. Grian also doesn't exactly try to shake him. Day after day he seeks Mumbo out, even stepping into the forest to talk, since Mumbo won't step out.

They become friends, then close friends, seeing each other almost every day. Sometimes, Grian tests the waters with his parents again, asking questions, and every time the same result. Punishment.

In the village, it feels like everyone's eyes are on him. Always watching for the slightest mistake. Disgust taints the people's features as they look at him. Grian feels shame at their glares. He is a monster. A demon. Abandoned by God.

And the visions keep coming. Predicting deaths and accidents, showing him images of angelic figures turned horrific, feeding him delusions that make him sick.

Through it all, Mumbo is there. The only person to actively interact with him like a human being.

Grian is twenty one when he realises he has... feelings of some kind, for Mumbo. It's weird, because he's never liked any of the women his age, really, but he always thought they were very pretty and he envied their effortless beauty. Now, finally, he's feeling something he'd describe as love, but it's with a man.

One late evening, as the sun paints the sky orange, Grian tries to explain himself to Mumbo. He expects ridicule as he dances around the topic. Mumbo says nothing, simply listening to Grian talk.

Then, he sighs. He says there's something Grian needs to know, and it might break Grian's lovesick feelings. He... isn't human.

At first, Grian laughs. He tells Mumbo there's better ways to reject someone. He wasn't planning on doing anything, anyway, because he knows what a sin is, and he doesn't want to commit such an obvious one. Mumbo rolls his eyes at that, reiterating for the billionth time he doesn't believe in sin, and loving another man isn't bad.

Though Grian doesn't quite understand, Mumbo smiles a little at the irony. Grian thinks he's a monster? Well, Mumbo is one.

"The village wants to kill you, mate." "What? No they don't, they just don't like me. 'Cause of the demons." "Not really. They're planning to rid the village of the devil, and that does mean you, too." "Mumbo-" "I know, actually, because they tried it with me." "... what are you?" "Just like you."

I'm losing motivation to write this well but basically:

Grian finds out the village is going to do a big cleanse and kill him in the process. He doesn't believe that it'll happen until it is literally happening, getting carried into the church by a mob of people. They tie his limbs and try to cut him open to get the demons out of him, but he lashes out.

The angels and monsters from his visions seem to pour from his soul, attacking the church-goers. There's a lot of screaming and blood and Grian doesn't know what's happening until he's outside the church and it's night time and Mumbo is there, helping him up and guiding him away from the village.

Grian slowly realises he's killed a Lot of people and completely blames himself, knowing himself now to be truly demonic. He rushes home, with Mumbo at his side, to confront his parents. They are shocked to see him, since they handed him over to the mob.

They start accusing Grian of all sorts of things, but they also offer to take him away, far away, to some lonely church where they're sure he can be saved. The devil will be purged from his body and he will be normal again.

Mumbo immediately defends Grian, saying he's not got the devil inside him, he's just different and that's okay. In the process, Mumbo gets angry and shouts that he loves Grian. This is the last straw for Grian's parents. They ask Grian if he's a sinner- if he's been seeing this man. When Grian doesn't respond, he's slapped across the face.

Everything after that is a bit of a blur. There are screams. Mumbo is gone from Grian's side, but his own sight is too taken-over with visions to make sense of the scene.

Things get quiet, in reality, and as Grian's visions- angry, judging eyes- calm down, he's met with the image of his parents, dead, bleeding from their necks. Mumbo standing over them, blood dripping from his mouth, sharp fangs and red eyes.

The rest of this, I think, is a healing arc, though there's Drama through the unsolved mystery of What Grian Is, alongside Grian Having A Gender Crisis She's A Girl Now. Mumbo takes Grian to his safe haven where Grian meets Scar (they will polycule it up later) and it's a whole thing.
