i’ve been working on this slowly but surely! haway’s portion is completely finished, and i’m about a 1/4 way done with so’leks part.

these are gonna be kind of character study–esque — i want to properly showcase how the sarentu gang + so’lek fall into obsession with the player without it seeming cliche. i hope my portrayals of these characters dont fall flat when the final piece is ready to be released 😭 im trying my hardest

hehe ;3c we in here!!! i healed up pretty well from this month, so everything is good and well! my bday passed a couple days ago and i got my septum, belly button and tongue pierced and im hurting a bit. obv its nothing compared to the initial needle pain but my tongue is givin me hell 😭

i took meds and have been using an unopened ice pop to soothe swelling but i jus wanna eat food bro 😭😭 wverything was so worth it tho, i have no regrets LOL

honestly now that i think about it im just gonna finish up ri’nela’s part and post the final draft. ik rhese r supposed to be headcanons but i literally cannot shorthand hcs for the life of me 😭😭 its all or nothing!

SO with that being said im gonna keep haway, so’lek and ri’nela together and post their parts as part one. thennn im gonna post nor, teylan and eetu in part two!!!! bc then it’d be easier on me and u guys get to actually enjoy the fruits of my labor lol;;;

four eyes. part 1.

— self-aware! yandere! sarentu (the protag of afop), ri’nela, so’lek x player!occultist?gn!reader. all characters are +18 (bc they arent given canon ages??? wiki is unspecific)

the protagonist is given a name and depicted as gender neutral/genderless/etc. could be read as platonic or romantic — but so’lek’s part is strictly platonic.

a/n: haven’t played the game but i did watch a playthrough on yt of the full game 😭 god i love nor sm. hes my fav 😭 this game is my magnum opus 😫 nor and teylan get cameos, lol, i couldnt help myself 🙈 mean!nor my beloved. he’d bully me and i’d say thank u LOLLLL

cw: yandere. dark content. reader is suggested to be a spiritualist (vague; blink and you’ll miss it). heavily suggestive at some points – interspecies cultural misunderstandings are prevalent. dubious/nonconsensual companionship(???). possible canon–divergence? canon typical violence, mentions of gore. unhealthy behaviors!

HAWAY. (the protagonist; the sarentu)

• the first to ‘discover’ you.

• you were one of the first things they heard when waking up from their cryosleep.

• your appearance was certainly strange, but not unwelcome. your voice and lighthearted demeanor brightened the dim, horrible atmosphere of tap — you gave them a sense of hope and confidence even as their life was almost taken (multiple times) by the rda.

• you helped them escape tap alongside so’lek; the warmth you exuded and your comforting words of encouragement were kind of unnerving, at first — but your excited, giddy squeals over something called ‘graphics’ and ‘storylines’ had their heart unfurling for you in a way unlike ever before.

• integrating you into their life after tap was as easy as breathing to haway. you brought comfort and easy laughter – you were the balm to the ache in their bones. they will not rest until they get you in their arms; they deserve something sweet in reward for keeping pandora safe, right?

• and you are so stinkin’ cute, do you realize how much you make their entire soul sing? years upon years of being stuck in literal torture chambers has them sick with grief; they lost their last remaining family, aha’ri, and the other four sarentu kids. they’ve endured horrific atrocities, and yet you… oh, you, you make them want to try and live happily.

• you breathe new life into haway, and they couldn’t be more grateful. they’ll do whatever it takes to keep you alive and safe. eywa knows their heart can’t take another loss… so you can’t stop talking. please continue to babble their ears off. they don’t care if they’re in the middle of absolutely demolishing an rda outpost — the thought of you going silent, or even worse, ignoring them makes them itch to fly into a murderous rage.

• you are the only one that could actually sharpen their focus in the middle of getting their hands dirty. they hope that makes you feel special, because everyone else is as good as annoying flies to them.

• when teylan sent haway photos of you so they can see your face for the first time, they got such visceral cuteness aggression they started snarling at their tech, ears pinned back with their fangs on display and everything. you’re so soft-looking and adorable and sexy and— great mother, they will eat you alive when they get their paws on you.

• hearing your beautiful voice in their ears isn’t enough anymore – they need you out of breath and saying their name, so small and precious and theirs—

• oh, great mother, they take such great pleasure in you even when you’re offline from the game they’re stuck in. seeing you in various states of undress and hearing you in all your glory is so worth the trouble of hacking into your system. you’re especially lovely when you think you’re alone – the prayers you speak make them especially excited.

• it’s nothing out of left field, really, they just think it’s so precious that even humans have their own ways of honoring their ancestors and their planet. haway can listen in on your hushed conversations and intimate moments with your loved ones for a whole lifetime, the fact that they don’t even understand what you’re talking about half the time be damned.

• please be with them. stay with them. they know you the best, all your preferences and pet peeves — they’ll do anything – be anything you want to keep you happy. so quit talking about the others and give them your attention, please…

— “teylan… print out those photos for me. now. i’m on my way to base.”

— “oh, paskalin, i can’t wait to hold you… you’d love riding an ikran, i know you would.”

SO’LEK.

• the second to wake up to you.

• haway’s assistance in nursing so’lek back to health after escaping tap and killing off the rda swarm was only the beginning for him. in hindsight, though, he could’ve sworn he heard you shrieking and yelping praise to haway as they were sniping the rda soldiers from behind forgotten rda supplies…

• at first he thought it was haway making those noises, but your intonation and way of speaking is world’s apart from theirs. literally.

• his confusion only intensified at your nervous giggles as he healed using the dapophet. just what in the world is going on? he thought you weren’t real, and he was just hallucinating again.

• he was just coming from a brush with death, so he figured he’d wait until he could get haway alone to interrogate them. they aren’t a threat, and there is obviously nobody tailing them, and even they seem to hear the voice… so he knows he isn’t alone.

• the news absolutely rocks his world. a tawtute from a whole different universe? if it weren’t for the amount of nonsense he’s lived, he would totally disregard the notion. but this… is not out of the question. your tellings of humanity in your world makes his bones itch.

• the way humanity has treated you makes him seethe with rage. you have a tongue powerful enough to move mountains; a spirit capable of making a mighty palulukan rest at your feet. so’lek works closely with haway and teylan in learning more about you to save you from dire circumstance.

• he works hard in making weapons for you for your inevitable transfer between worlds. the sarentu group seems to be at each other’s necks; their begrudging coordinated effort clear to see, and he worries that they don’t have what it takes to share without complications. but he’ll teach you to protect yourself for his own sake.

• he’s not much of a warrior anymore, but he’ll be damned before he loses another loved one.

• so’lek knows you have grit. but even the strongest of soldiers need the backings of allies to be triumphant, and even spiritual wars will eat you up and spit you out without them. clearly those dreadful vrrteps cannot take care of their own, so so’lek will pick up the slack dropped by your negligent society and nurture your soul the way you deserve.

• if he cannot dispose of them in a way that matters, he can surely give you the comfort and healing and mentorship you so desperately need.

• just know that if he could strangle them alive and make their insides their outsides, he’d do so in a heartbeat.

— “stay strong, oare. just a little while longer.”

— “hey! calm down, all of you. you will scare them acting like that.”

RI’NELA.

• she was there at the campfire on their first day free from tap.

• ri’nela was surprised, at first; haway was keeping you from them? all this time? why? all four of them felt how difficult it was to diverge from the conversation at hand because of the coding, and yet haway’s recount of the events after the cutscene left ri’nela suspicious.

• they were hiding something. but she could only glean so much, and soon she was cornering teylan at headquarters and making him tell her everything he knew about you. she knows he got the runner up on gathering intel on you.

• whenever she had the free time, she would eavesdrop on priya and haway to try and listen to your babbling in the background. you have so much backbone, and such a sharp tongue, it’s very… intimidating, to hear you speak the way you do. never before has the future tsahìk heard such a voice that chills her and warms her up simultaneously.

• your forward–thinking and intoxicating charisma does a number on her. you’re so witty, and cute, and lovely… if you were to speak to her with the specific tone of voice she likes so much, she would simply never let you go.

• how direct you are scares her. only a little bit, though…. or at least, that’s what she tells herself — you remind her of aha’ri, haway’s late sister. you are so strong and simply excellent — it took her time to acclimate herself to your demeanor, but the growing pains were well worth it, in her opinion.

• she uses you as a blueprint in her tsahìk training, and her ruthlessness in making plans to take down the rda camps. with your help, and her meticulous wit, she’s started to strategize ways to get you to warm up to her. through your scathing, yet delightfully tactful criticisms she begins to sharpen herself into a person you have no choice but to give your affections to.

• there are times where she’ll tussle with nor about you, the duo unable to see eye to eye even on their explorations to see eywa’s wonders together. there was always tension, between the both of them – differing perspectives on handling the destruction of tap and it’s respective traumas – and with your introduction, it only got so much worse.

• ri’nela is so unused to being out on the frontlines at all, but especially for you, and it really stresses her out. it just makes her so angry that the rest of the sarentu think they have any sort of chance with you — she has to go out far away from headquarters and just scream in frustration for a semblance of relief.

• more often than not, though, she’s a silent type of angry. her pretty eyes will water up with tears at nor’s taunts and jeers, his scathing words about how she’d never be enough to be your type hurts more than she’d like to admit. it’s childish, she knows, but she wants nothing more than for you to actually look up to her and regard her as much as she does you.

• and if she has to pull the strings and knock you down a few pegs to get that sly tongue of yours, so be it. she doesn’t care much for what you give her — your mean words heat her up all the same. if she could suffocate you in her chest, she’d do so in a heartbeat.

• she wonders if you’d prefer her tongue or her thighs. she knows she’d do anything to have you draped all over her, reduce you down to nothing but sweet moans and a messy face, that’s for sure. would you give ri’nela the honor, sweet thing~?

— “syulang, please… why can’t you just be nice for once?”

— “nor, watch your tongue. you have no right to say such a thing.”

LOL i only just noticed but i meant magnum* opus

new project 🤧 i couldnt help myself ;;

i named the protag haway! it means lullaby, and i figured the name would be perfect because the sarentu are nomadic storytellers (thus their voices r immensely important in sharing their experiences). the voices given to the player are very melodic imho so i thought it fit 🤭

here’s a lil sneak peek at what to expect!

SYNOPSIS:

the remaining sarentu gather around the fire for the first time since leaving tap, their blood rushing as they recount the wonders of the pandora that was withheld from them.

but the gaggle isn’t alone, it seems — the four of them sneak confused glances at each other at the sounds of someone interjecting in a sweet voice… but the conversation continues as scripted, no matter how much they struggle.

once you log out, the three jump at the opportunity to interrogate haway. they didn’t seem surprised at the voice, so why is that? what is going on?

their explanation and what it implies leave the remaining three at a loss. how lovely you sound… they’ll stop at nothing to bring you to them, your otherwordly tawtute status be damned.

even if your presence drives them to each other’s throats.

— i might delegate so’lek and eetu to part 2… six na’vi is a lot to write for a first part. maybe i’ll write etuwa and nesim too? with a special guest, perhaps! i’ll keep yall posted lollll
