Weston College AU - o!Ciel x m!Lizzy (Elliot)
Mini fic [read here] ↓
"Lizzy, we can't be seen together so often, or people will start to suspect," warned the young Earl Phantomhive, now a student at the prestigious Weston College.
"I'm sorry, Ciel! But there's new information I must tell you," replied his fiancée, Elizabeth Midford, who had cut her hair and now wore boys' uniform to infiltrate the school. Ciel sighed.
"You said the same thing yesterday and only told me about your classmates…"
"You're right, but this time I found out something about the blond boy!" Lizzy defended herself as she leaned in close to Ciel's ear. This small action made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, but he quickly focused on her words.
"Listen, at night—" Ciel quickly interrupted her, placing a hand over her lips and gripping her left arm, pushing her against the wall. The young woman was surprised but did nothing.
"Shh," he hushed her, turning her head to the left. Elizabeth, now going by the name Elliot, immediately noticed his gesture and turned her face in the same direction.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but this is neither the time nor the place for trivial discussions," interrupted a figure that had approached.
"Seb-- Professor Michaelis!?" Lizzy stifled a small scream. Regardless of the situation, the engaged couple couldn't be alone in closed places, as agreed upon. Lizzy recalled that 'small' detail.
"It's not proper for gentlemen to eavesdrop," Ciel interrupted, annoyed by the intrusion.
"It's study hours; students are not allowed to converse," responded the butler, now in the role of a teacher, looking at the young couple with a disapproving grimace, "and especially not to be alone together," he added. Elizabeth blushed violently at his comment. Her proximity to Ciel wasn't unusual, but they had never been alone together.
"I-I'm sorry, Professor Michaelis. We'll talk later, Ciel. G-goodbye!" Elizabeth said nervously, hurrying away. Her silhouette disappeared after a few seconds.
"Really?" questioned the student to the professor, glancing at him from the corner of his eye as he crossed his arms.
"Young master, I intend to fulfill my role as a butler regardless of the situation, and that includes you acting as a gentleman," Sebastian responded with a smile, "I cannot allow inappropriate activities between you and Miss Elizabeth."
"What…?" The color red flooded Ciel's face, a mix of annoyance and embarrassment, as he projected his fiancée's face in his mind. Reluctantly, he stepped away from Sebastian, who sighed. Nanny to two engaged teenagers; just what he needed.

The importance of details
𖤐Hello everyone Kuronians𖤐
To day I would like to tell you about a very interesting frame that can be seen in the fourth season of Kuroshitsuji. This frame made me realise the importance of details and how much Yanuzza takes care of his work.
As we can see, Ciel is in bed with the blanket covering him a little below his shoulder. He looks relaxed and we can tell this state because of his relaxed hand. The problem, however, is that Ciel would never sleep like that. A child who has been through something as traumatic as Ciel's would certainly not feel relaxed and comfortable in a strange place and with strange people. Rather, he would unconsciously seek some sort of 'protection', something that would shield him from reality, because as stupid as it sounds, falling asleep is not easy. Closing your eyes and resting means that you are relaxing and that you feel safe in the place where you are.
Yanuzza in the manga did not draw Ciel casually. First of all, the blanket covers him up to his shoulders, or rather, up to his neck, as if to shield him, to protect him from the outside, thus giving him the right reassurance. The hand is clenched into a fist, as if to indicate a certain rigidity due to the new situation he finds himself in.
When we sleep, we do not have control over our bodies, and precisely because of this, the positions in which we sleep can tell us a lot about ourselves because our bodies can reveal needs, fears and more.
The fact that Ciel sleeps in the fetal position is no coincidence, because people who sleep in this position often have a sort of unconscious desire to regress to childhood. Could this be the case for Ciel? Yes probably, considering that he was once happy. The point is not so much this but the fact that those who sleep in this position unconsciously seek protection. I find this last point very interesting indeed because it is precisely what Ciel lacked at the time....
Besides that, in the first volumes (Luxury Line arc) when we see Sebasian's memories, we can see the first night of the human cub at the mansion. He was completely wrapped up under the blankets (including his head) and if I remember correctly, this position is called the 'sarcophagus position' or a similar name that has to do with death anyway. It is not only a comforting position, but it really becomes a den, a safe place.
In the new season they have changed the position by unintentionally giving a new character to Ciel.Surely there will be people who think like me while others will say 'but it's just a frame'.
What do I think as a graphic designer studying at the Rainbow academy? (yes, the Winx) in the other animated series (excluding Atlantic) although the character design was immature (so much so that in certain scenes the characters from a distance had coloured dots as eyes) the details seem to me to have remained the same, but if it had been the other way round I would have turned a blind eye, after all the whole reflected the dark world of Kuroshitsuji. I certainly can't say the same about the new season since they changed both the colour palette and the character design.
For the umpteenth time since this new season came out, here I am again saying 'I am sorry that Yanuzza's work has been belittled' . I think that in order to understand certain things, one has to be 'in it', for example: to make my monogram and give it a story, I spent a good three months on it! Yes, three months for a monogram. As always, I'll be honest, I don't like the fact that she works her ass off for all these details (details that undoubtedly distinguish a story from one with dicks) details that are then not mentioned in the anime (not to mention the colours and other things because otherwise we'd be here a week)
For example, see how the real Ciel. It is the exact opposite of the position of "Ciel. If the brother is insecure enough to seek protection with blankets, Ciel doesn't give a damn about blankets. That is a position of one who is not afraid of anyone, a position that suggests a certain self-confidence, something that was missing in 'Ciel's' position.
I hope you enjoyed this post that makes us reflect on the details of the manga, a work that deserves much more because of the themes it deals with and the luxurious pain it is imbued with.

Hello
I love your art. It’s so beautiful.
I have a question
What is a manga or something that really influenced your art
Hello! :)
Thank you very much for the message and for the kind words! <33
Hmm, there are quite a few things that have influenced my art over the years - illustrations for anime to manga and sequential illustrations by popular artists in Art History. One of the most important aspects for me in the process of developing my own art would be the need to do better. More elaborate. More complex. Until I defined my own style (it all starts with the horribly disproportionate and childish fanarts that any young potential artist creates at the beginning of his exploration), I longed for the idea of reaching the most complex level possible. Of course this could not happen on the first try and it is certainly not necessarily a pattern for me at the moment - it took some time for me to understand that there are more ways to achieve complexity when we talk about visual art.
But let's move on to some examples.
✦ I think my first impulse towards visual complexity was given to me by the works of Shibamoto Thores, the artist who created the artistbook for Trinity Blood. Her illustrations fascinated me because every time I looked, I always found a new detail that had escaped my previous inspection. Her characters are intriguing by their posture, color shades and design and the very detailed backgrounds give a certain solemnity to the artworks. Her art also made me interested in the Gothic style.
✦ Another example in this approach is Ayami Kojima, who created illustrations and character designs for the video game Castlevania (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, 1997). Her characters were drawn with an extraordinary elegance, which at the time I could only dream of; that's why I particularly liked her designs, which at the same time increased my fascination with the world of fashion design.
✦ The first mangaka I will mention is none other than Shin-ichi Sakamoto, who exploited his talent to the maximum in this project - and many others - "Innocent" (2013-2015), closely followed by "Innocent: Rogue" (2015 - 2020). The manga is a historical one, based on Masakatsu Adachi's book "The Executioner Sanson". The action takes place in France, before the French Revolution. I want to mention that the story is mature, being loaded with metaphors and various graphic scenes of torture, executions and sex. Sakamoto's art made me want to push my limits even more in terms of visual complexity. I mean, seriously, the man is a true master of details:
✦ Boichi is another top mangaka whose comic book projects have influenced my decisions throughout my artistic exploration. He started his career illustrating mature subjects (porn), which sometimes explains the fanservices in his projects, lol. Like Sakamoto, Boichi has a unique artistic style and an affinity for detail and semi-realism. Sun-Ken Rock is among my favorite stories he created. Besides this, I also liked "Origin" (2016-2019), "Wallman" (2013-2015) "Dr. Stone" (2017-2022, art only), "Raqyia" (2008-2010, art only).
✦ Yana Toboso is one of my favorite comic artists. I still remember the moments when I discovered Black Butler, haha. How nostalgic! The fact that the story is fantasy, which still incorporates a lot of Victorian elements - clothes, customs, food, clothing - fascinated me so much that at one point I tried to create my own version that would include Victorian elements. Of course, it all ended in disaster, lol.
Among other manga works that have inspired me, especially in terms of details and fashion design, are:
✦ "Arte" (2013 -) by Ookubo Kei.
✦ "Death Note" (2003-2006, art by Obata Takeshi).
✦ "Zetman" (2002-2014) by Masakazu Katsura.
✦ "Berserk" (1989 - ) by the late Kentarou Miura.
Among the artists of sequential art who represented and continue to represent a source of inspiration during my artistic exploration are:
✦ Gustave Doré.
✦ Walter Crane.

Bitter Rabbit cafe
𖤐Hello everyone Kuronians𖤐
Those who have been following me for a long time will have realized that i madly loved the bitter rabbits' black label, so much that i now have various products of this amazing as well as interesting pop-up store. When i saw the first visual, the first illustration that yanuzza created for this event, i immediately noticed those little critters, they are the protagonists of this cafe after all; besides them being adorable, it almost seemed to me like taking a step back and relive very similar emotions as the emerald witch arc's. Are they just cute products or is there much more behind it all?
During the morning of december 14th Cutie Pie opened the advent calendar's box, and in the drawer number fourteen he found two pawns in the shape of a rabbit. This animal not only symbolizes for cutie pie the end of everything, but also what should have been the most special day that he impatiently waited for; other than that our kid despite everything managed to make his little big dream come true, that is opening a toy shop where bitter rabbits are the main piece of the collection. The rabbit is not just an animal, it's a symbol that like a circle encloses many situations: Cutie Pie's past, the weakness of character that he thinks he has (the word "rabbit" is also used as a synonym for "coward" after all, and also we could tie it to the fact that that day he decided to run away, to impersonate his brother instead of facing the issue) and even the relationship between him and sebastian, as we know, the stronger animal eats the weaker one. Crazy how everything can be enclosed in one unique symbol.
Another thing that really interested me about this cafe is that yanuzza said that these fun and adorable Bitter Rabbits are alive, in fact as we can see we find Sebastian's bitter rabbit ready to serve another dish to the client, while cutie pie's is sitting on the floor in a very adorable manner indicating with its little hand something on the menu. All bitter rabbits of this edition are animated and i find it extremely interesting because as soon as i saw them i wondered if they have the same characteristics as the Tsum Tsums, i mean like the ones from twisted wonderland, where not only the tsum was similar to the main character, but looked exactly like it was exasperating their behaviors, in fact the word tsum tsum contains (or is similar to, i don't remember) the Japanese word that means "similar". I'd like to dive deeper in this topic about the bitter rabbit cafe because we know that the bunnies are alive but what personalities do they have? Are they the same as the original characters are they like twisted wonderland's Tsum Tsums?
If it was like that it would be an interesting story because not only we'd have a Sebastian BR with his true personality mocking his young master all the time and teasing him, but we'd also see cutie pie's BR with his true personality, the personality of a child that lost his family and that despite all the cracks and tiny pieces to pick up, shyly tries to move one step at a time. Anyway, considering the way they were drawn, it makes me think that this could be true and exactly for this reason it would really be great to have a second edition where the personalities of the rabbits are shown more into detail. I want to end the post by focusing for the last time the attention on these stuffed animals. According to the psychologist Maslow, every human being has six needs that need to be satisfied at the right age, and when these needs aren't satisfied we carry them inside inseparably: if for example the need for security isn't satisfied, as adults we'll try to to unconsciously satisfy the need for security for example with an older partner or with a solid financial position that can give us security.
Considering the same need, the stuffed animals have the same calming and reassuring effect, it's no coincidence that children use them to fall asleep. Other than that i asked myself a question... If cutie pie is impersonating his brother, the BR doesn't have his appearance but Ciel's, so when he hugs it it's like he's hugging him. After all cutie pie isn't egocentric to the point of creating a stuffed animal that resembles him. I find that bitter rabbits aren't just cute plushies but are much more: a reminder of what has happened, a way to view himself in that "rabbit", a small flick of hope about having reached his dream despite everything, but most of all the object that Cutie Pie involuntarily uses to fullfill his needs that will probably never be satisfied.
————————IG post description——-————
Besides what you've just read, the rabbit (as absurd as it may seem) doesn't exclude our butler either, that is because the animal in question is a strong symbol in satanism in fact: rabbit, crow and goat are the triad that represents baphomet, that is to say satan. In the field of esotericism the rabbit appears again as a symbol of "rebirth" but also as a sacrificial animal (in satanic rituals you can offer a human or animal life). The term "rebirth" is pretty funny because in some way we can say that Ciel is "reborn" in the body of cutie pie considering that he decided to take the resemblance of his brother.
As i wrote the post i realized that the rabbit could have another way darker meaning. Since the beginning of the series we've been taking with us all the symbolism of chess with the attached pawns (so much that we have illustrations, figures etc.) thus, considering that in satanic rituals animals can be sacrificed as well, i wonder if that was a symbol, like a warning of what would be happening.
After all cutie pie himself uses the word "pawns" associated with the two rabbits, and as if that wasn't enough, the fact that vincent in chapter 132* talks with a priest about the infamous "st Michael's holiday" doesn't make us think of him as dad of the year.
*Even though it may seem absurd, i noticed that in books some authors play this "fun" game in which you have to sum up the numbers to discover a certain thing. Adding 1+3+2 we have as result a very shady 6. According to luciferians (they worship lucifer not as a symbol of evil but as a fallen angel) the number 666 doesn't indicate Lucifer or any other malevolent creature, but the human being as an evil figure. I don't know if it's random that in ch 132 we see the twins' past with a bit of a focus on Vincent's mysterious character, but in any way, the theory about the devil's number seems very spot on for kuroshitsuji.
