BIOGRAPHY

Young Violeta Aliza Grandiose was not born under the best of circumstances, despite the fact that both of her parents loved her with everything that they had.  You see, despite all recommendations, Violet’s Parisian mother (Daphne) had fallen in love with an Israeli soldier, Adam. They were bonkers in love with each other; and Daphne eventually moved out of Paris and into the land of Israel once she found out she was pregnant with baby Violet. The two adored their daughter immensely and provided everything that she could ever need. Some would even say she was spoiled, though her family wasn’t extremely wealthy. Her parents just went above and beyond to dote on her.  But those were turbulent times in that part of the world. Israel and Palestine were in the midst of a bloody and violent war. Civilians from both ends of the spectrum were being murdered on a daily basis and often times the victims were innocent children— killed in the streets on the way to school, or blown up just for existing and being different.  Needless to say, it was far from the ideal place to raise a beautiful new daughter. Still, Adam felt as if it was his duty to stand for what he believed in and Daphne supported him completely, because she loved him completely— all the way up until his death. Adam was killed in 1999 when Violet was 19 years old.  That was when Daphne knew it was time to run. She grabbed her daughter by the wrists and didn’t let her go until they had boarded the airplane taking them to America. Luckily, Adam’s life insurance paid for their immigration expenses, and there was just enough left over to send Violet to college. She graduated with a Bachelor in Criminal Justice and was continuing her education until the day that she found at the she, herself, was pregnant.  2007 would prove to be a monumental year for Violet, and not in good ways. She learned that she was pregnant with twins in February of that year and despite not knowing the father that well (one-night stand), she was excited to be a mother and prepared to do most of the work on her own. It gave her something to look forward to and it would have made her father very proud. Plus, I mean, Violet knew they would be gorgeous babies.  Tragedy was never far away from her, however, and she lost the twins after being tricked by a strange man in a club on a windy September night. She was seven weeks away from being full term but had gone out that night anyway in support of her best friend’s engagement. A man stealthily drugged her tonic-water while she wasn’t looking, and to this day, all other events of the evening are totally wiped from her memory. The only thing Violet knew was that she had died. Somehow, someway, she knew that much was true.  Yet the next day she woke up alone.  Violet found that everything about her had changed suddenly. For starters, there was her (lack of a) pregnant belly. Then, there was her increased strength, agility, speed, stamina, and her heightened bone structure. Next came the teeth. Hell, even her own moral code seemed to change— slowly at first, and then all at once. While she was normally a pretty upright and kind-hearted person, all of the sudden she was vengeful and bloodthirsty. She had been stripped of all her control. Her own children had been taken away from her. She wasn’t just out for blood, she was out for total destruction.  The young vampire’s quest for revenge lasted about eight years, until she was advised by Drummond’s INC that it was time for her to leave town. She had never been closer to the truth than she was at that moment, but the organization had been keeping a close watch on her and knew that things were about to get ugly. The vampire who turned Violet had his own slew of dark secrets— secrets that Violet didn’t need to find out about.

So Violet left and moved to Drummond’s End. It would be impossible for her to get revenge if her attacker knew what she was up to, so she’d have to build a new life and seek answers from afar. Currently, Violet works the night shift as a security guard. In her free time, she works independently as a Private Investigator. A large portion of her clients are women that pay her to track down their ex’s who owe child support. It’s the perfect gig for someone that has as many pent-up issues as Violet does. Plus, it’s a great way to lash out some anger.  For the most part, Violet hangs out alone now. She can occasionally be seen at a bar getting drunk (she likes gin and tonic), shopping at Target (because they’re open late + other obvious reasons), or taking her dog Moose out for a midnight run. The only humans she’ll feed off of now are the delinquent clients that she comes in contact with at work. However, she loves the idea of turning a few humans on her own and treating them as her children. Her transformation was traumatizing, and since she never got to have a good relationship with her Maker, she longs to give a better experience to someone else. Violet just hasn’t found the love, kindness, or energy to do so yet.

Biography: TW: miscarriage and infertility In a House that prized knowledge and education, organization becomes a founding stone. The Chateau du Nantes has a world-class library of both physical, electronic and web-based resources. Scholars from around the world apply to access this extensive private library. To keep such an amazing library in shape takes a special hand and that hand belongs to Sarai Abgnall. Other libraries and research facilities have tried to lure her away but she has never considered that more than mere flattery. Why would she leave the perfect job? Sarai is devoted to her work.  With the Duchess’ permission, she resides at the Chateau in one of its more elegant apartments. Her family is one of the larger branches of the House of Nantes and she is proud of their achievements. However, she has little interest in drawing attention to herself. She may be called upon at the drop of a hat or in any moment of crisis and she will do all that she can to assist. She is renowned within the family for cross-checking of references and footnotes prior to the publication of academic papers. She has saved more than one member of her House from embarrassment through her cautious edits and the through nature of her work. Her personal life has been one of repeated loss. Her first relationship ended with her submissive’s untimely death. The second relationship ended upon the cruel discovery of her submissive’s infidelity when he got another pregnant. He blamed his cheating on her inability to carry a child to term. To say she had been devastated would be an understatement. Sarai poured herself into her work and put all thought of personal relationships out of her mind. A bordello would suit her needs perfectly. Of course, she was added to the internal research team looking into the tragic death of the King. If any House can determine the precise cause, it is hers. Of this she is confident. Everything else is irrelevant.

→ Background

Hayden’s upbringing wasn’t the best. She was raised in Bridgefield by a single mother, who was addicted to drugs most of her life. She had to grow up pretty fast and sort of take care of things around the house when her mother was high or passed out. She got a job at a young age, cleaning at a local art gallery, and she moved out as soon as she was able to, moving one town over to Baberton. Though she was never able to let go of her mother and checked in on her often, driving almost every night back to make sure she wasn’t dead or something. Baberton became her new home and she settled in quite quickly, enjoying that it was a bit smaller than Bridgefield, and the people she met were a lot nicer than the ones she used to know around her old neighbourhood, probably because they’d always looked down on her mother, and nobody here knew about it.

She got a job in the art gallery in Baberton, cleaning still, and it was the best job but she knew how to do it and it paid the bills so she stuck at it. Nowhere else seemed to want to hire her anyway and she was just grateful that she hadn’t grown up the way some other girls in her situation would have and ended up having to work in a strip club or something horrible like that. She’d always been pretty stuck up about that stuff but it’s only because she never wanted to end up forced into that life to pay the bills. It was a relief when Hayden could finally move out of her mother’s house, though the woman would always steal money from her when she visited.

→ Back to Baberton

Baberton has become a bit darker the last few years, with all the murders. Hayden doesn’t like that the town has started to be dubbed “Murderville” or whatever and she’s really on edge while the police continue to investigate all these deaths. She doesn’t understand how somebody could do something like this and she really hopes that they catch the guy soon. Things are complicated and she tends to stay out of the drama, and not read the newspapers as much since there’s mostly gossip and drama in the local rag. She doesn’t like to talk bad about other residents since it’s none of her business and she knows what it’s like to be judged, especially for something out of your control.

Hayden still works in the art gallery, still cleaning and she sometimes goes up to the school after hours to help clean there too for some extra money. She’s always liked art and has been thinking about trying to get a different position in the gallery, even just a receptionist would suit her find so she’s waiting for a position to open up. Anything but cleaning as she’s getting pretty sick of doing it every day for others when it’s pretty much taken for granted. She likes flowers too and has always liked perusing the local flower shop, and the local book store. She likes simple things like that, she likes being on her own and having her independence to enjoy it. She’s not big on internet or mobile phones, though she does have a phone for convenience, since she never really had it growing up and she never really bothered after she moved out.

→ What’s Her Secret?

When her mother died a year ago, she told Hayden that she’d had another daughter years previously that she’d been forced to put up for adoption. Hayden was shocked that she’d never known this, and she was even more shocked when it came out that her sister was a woman that she knew, at least by name. Her mother had been able to track the girl down some time after she’d been adopted out, during a period where she’d given up drugs yet again, maybe hoping to get her daughter back. When she traced her to Baberton, she saw her daughter had a happy life and didn’t interfere, instead having Hayden. Hayden sort of wishes her mother was still alive so she could try to get more information about Josie Williamson, her sister, though it’s not like she thinks her mum knew everything. It’s just a shock and it’s hard not having anyone else to talk about it with. She doesn’t know how to approach Josie or tell her who she is and she’s worried the woman won’t believe her anyway… or won’t want her since she has her own life.

→ Background Information

Born into a wealthy family, Iracebeth had it from the get-go. She could have decided on any career path, and her parents would have made it happen for her. Modeling fit her perfectly though. The combination of her hard-to-break heart and her hardy personality meant she was tough enough to make the cut. Once her name was established, Iracebeth felt like her life was perfect. She had her dream man - incredibly attractive and so kind that he was an absolute pushover. She had her dream home, with the important feature of a huge walk-in-wardrobe. Everything was just the way she wanted it. 

→ Living Situation

Beth would rather be caught dead than sharing a place with someone else. One of the very first things she did upon moving to Libertas was get in the best decorators in the city to do it up to her standards. There were some compromises she had to make, obviously. What had been a storage cupboard was turned into a mini walk-in-wardrobe. It’s far smaller than the one she had back home but at least it’s something. She had marble fixtures installed in her kitchen and bathroom. Iracebeth did not hold back at all. 

→ Relocation Explanation

A sexscapade gone wrong resulted in the death of Iracebeth’s boyfriend of three years. A lot of their time as a couple was spent arguing, but that didn’t mean he meant nothing to her. Shortly after, everything else around her began to collapse. Her boyfriend’s friend, Thomas Hatter, was leaving. Her assistant resigned and was also leaving the city. She pretends like she’s extremely independent but Beth wasn’t ready to entirely let go of everyone just yet. What would she do with all her spare time if the people she spends all her time annoying are gone? So, Iracebeth manipulated Edwin into admitting where he and Thomas were moving to. She followed them not too long later.

→ Her Personality

It’s hard for Iracebeth to even so much as consider the needs of other people. Her mind is always preoccupied with her own needs first. This probably comes from being so spoiled as a child, and being treated as if her needs did come above everyone else’s. Similarly, Beth has next to no patience. She likes thinks to be done straight away. Whether this is proactive, assertive or downright aggressive, it depends on what kind of mood she’s in that day. While her personality might not be the prettiest, the same can’t be said about her fashion and styling. Beth is always known to really push boundaries, but does often return to her classic red looks with heart-shaped accents.

Thomas Hatter (Enemy): Iracebeth is well aware that Thomas moved to Libertas to try and escape her. She’s a stubborn one though and isn’t going to let him get away that easy. Her main focus in life isn’t to ruin his, but she does enjoy stopping in to visit his store with ‘looking to buy a book.’ In reality, she is there to just make his day a little bit more difficult.

Melanie Carabosse (Friend): Having never really been the sort to have friends, Iracebeth found it incredibly shocking when she seemingly got along so well with Melanie. They met after bumping into each other in the toilets on a night out. This is normally a situation in which Beth would take off someone’s head. And yet, the pair found a mutual respect for each other and have been good friends ever since.

Edwin White (Ex-employee): Beth wasn’t exactly the nicest woman to work for. Never did she expect though to have her assistant hand in his resignation and leave. It didn’t take too long for her though to weasel out of Edwin where he was moving to though. She might not be his employer anymore but she’s still good at getting information out of him when she needs to.

→ Possible Connections

Charlie Mace (Enemy): Charlie and Iracebeth have actually crossed paths a few times in Thomas’s store. Beth hasn’t once stopped to actually talk to Charlie though, because why would she care for a simple member of staff. Not only are they just a member of staff, but they’re also a friend of Thomas. So that’s extra reason for Beth to dislike them.

Alice Kingsleigh (Enemy): Despite Alice and Iracebeth never having met, it’s almost certain that Iracebeth wouldn’t like her. She doesn’t pay much attention to Thomas Hatter’s life which is why Iracebth doesn’t really know of Alice all that much. But, similar to Charlie, Beth has no time for anyone who is a friend of Thomas’. Also, Alice doesn’t mind standing up for herself and Iracebeth doesn’t like people who talk back. So it’s basically a disaster waiting to happen.

James Hook (Friend): When it comes to tattooing, Iracebeth is very specific about what she wants. Having someone who knows exactly how she works and she’s comfortable with is very handy. James Hook is that person. Every tattoo she’s had since moving to Libertas has been done by him.

Iracebeth is based on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
