"I pocketed strangers in my memory, one by one, and tied them closer for all the ways in which they looked completely normal, all the ways they looked like me." // Sometimes you gain closure from the person you thought you needed it from, and sometimes it comes from seemingly a stranger. A stranger that comes into your life and speaks truth into parts of your heart that had become hardened to life-giving peace and comfort. That stranger is now someone that I have had the blessing to hear speak twice and tonight got to drink coffee with, along with 12 other beautiful women of Nashville. I am incredibly thankful for and indebted to Hannah Brencher and the ways her words have inspired me and my life in the past 8 months. // #IfYouFindThisLetter #WriteMoreLoveLetters

I'm an old soul. I write letters. I've written to family members, friends, beaus, people I've burned, and people that have burned me. Several months ago I wrote the hardest letter I've ever sat down to write. I mailed it and received nothing in return but radio silence. The day after putting that letter in the mail, I heard Hannah Brencher speak at a conference in Atlanta. I had never heard of her or her story, but as soon as she began to speak, chills went down my spine. She spoke of letters left on subways, letters mailed to the sick, ex-boyfriends, best friends, and mothers. I was completely in awe of God's timing and the peace of mind that I received from her words. Although the radio silence received from that letter that I mailed back in September hurt me more than I like to admit, I know that I reluctantly mailed it for a reason. I'm so ready to read this book and gain even more clarity surrounding letters written without response, and be encouraged to keep writing regardless of the outcome. // #IfYouFindThisLetter #WriteMoreLoveLetters #HannahBrencher
