Secrets
Logan sargeant x reader
Face claim Olivia Rodrigo
Word count Long
Warning Lando being annoying, not proofread (so maybe some spelling mistakes), Me not really knowing how to describe racing IN a race.
Summary Everyone thinks Logan is single, he isn’t. They also think he is a bad driver. He proves both of them wrong.
A/N this was kind of based of the Canada GP, but I changed a few things about it (you will notice) to fit the plot. ……….I wrote the last part in the middle of the night, so it either won’t make sense, or there will be a lot of spelling mistakes (I think the last one). But I don’t really have time to edit it and ehm I do it will be next week so you will have to do with this. ……………Also one of my favs so far written…
Don’t forget to Reblog comment and give feedback! It helps a lot!🫶❤️

Real life
Being in a relationship with someone can be beautiful. And Y/n would know. The only thing that is annoying about it is when you have to keep it secret. And not that they HAVE to keep it secret, they just do. And if you are asking who is ‘they’ well it’s Logan and Y/n.
They love each other, they really do. But with her being a famous singer and him being a driver that is… struggling. So at the beginning of their relationship they decided to keep it a secret. Of course not from everyone, their family knew, Y/n team, Logan’s team (only a selected few by both). But the world, the fans? They had no clues. They didn’t even know they had partners. But they liked it like this. And they were going to continue like this for a long time… or that was the plan.
And that was all ruined when someone (Logan) couldn’t help but like the others post. So people begin speculating.
And at first they just said it was a celebrity crush, which they then kept rolling with. So the world and the other drivers al thought that Logan Hunter Sargeant had a crush on Y/n Y/l/n. And that was fine…
It was until the teasing comments from both the fans, media and the drivers begin. Every time Logan or someone plays Y/n’s music people looked at him with a teasing look or made comments about her. Even on the driver parades more of the drivers begin talking to him, but only to tease him about his ‘celebrity crush’ even some driver that he had barely spoken to before.
And the world thought that that was just it; Logan who had a crush on someone way out of his league and Y/n who existed not knowing who Logan was.
So when one day there was announced that there will be a special guest at Williams of all teams well that was a surprise to all. The team hadn’t revealed jet who it was, they wanted to keep it quit until the race day. But the guest was in the paddock the whole weekend, just a bit more hidden.
And that is how Y/n ended up in the back of the Williams garage while her boyfriend was racing, it was FP2 at the moment, so one of the first days.
But she wasn’t alone, Lilly (Alex’s girlfriend) was also there with her, keeping her company while their boyfriends were doing their job. And she really enjoyed her company, which wasn’t really a surprise. Lilly was a nice girl, and she was also a fan which was funny with how she reacted to the news that Logan was dating Y/n (which Alex told Logan and Logan told Y/n).
So now the two of them where talking in the back of the garage and looking at the screens to see how the boys where doing.
Alex was currently racing and Logan got to race in FP1, and it was going good (well how good it can be for William that is). Logan was also not with the girls but he was looking at all the data from the practise and the sim races he did before the weekend.
So after FP3 was done and Alex and Logan finished up the team meeting to talk about the practices Logan returned to the back to search for Y/n and so that they could go home. When he spotted her he immediately had a smile on his face and walked towards her.
“Hey how was it?” He asked his girlfriend when he arrived. He smiled and did a kind of wave to Lilly and she took the hint and began walking to Alex.
“It was great. I loved seeing you out on the track, in real life.” She said looking up at him and hugging him.
“Hmmm, I’m glad.” Logan said while kissing the top of her head. “Do you want to go back to the hotel? I’m all done here and maybe it’s good to get some rest before tomorrow.”
“Yeah that smart. Do you. We’d to grab anything from your drivers room?” She asked while looking up at him.
“Yeah a few things. You coming with me?” He asked while looking at the girl. She nodded and they both walked towards his room to grab the stuff. After they had everything they stayed inside for a bit longer to figure out how she can sneak out of the paddock without being seen.
They came up with the plan of them splitting up, Logan going through the usual exit, so that people can still see him and take pictures and that he can see fans, and Y/n going through a more hidden and exit with almost none to no one there so she can have a more secret exit and that she won’t be spotted.
So they separated with a kiss and they both went to their respective exits. Once they were both out of the paddock Logan went to his car and took a detour to pick Y/n up. Once they were both in the car they went back to the hotel.
When they opened the door to their room they decided to just orde some room service and then go to bed. While Logan was deciding what to order Y/n began to get ready for bed. After they had both decided what they wanted they ordered it and got ready while waiting.
When it arrived they set on a movie they could watch and ate while watching. After they hatched eaten they decided to talk about what they would do the next day.
“I think I will just stay here tomorrow.” Y/n said while putting their dirty dishes away.
“Okay. That’s fine. Why?” Logan asks leaning against the table.
“Well it Will be quit busy with qualifying so I thought it would be smart that I could just stay at the hotel and watch here. If that okay with you.” The girl asked while looking at her boyfriend.
“Yeah of course.” Logan said while grabbing his girlfriend’s hand. “If that what you want then that’s fine with me.” He said.
While they talked they asked towords their bedroom and did their night routine.
“Alright. So I will watch here tomorrow and then I will be in the graag for the race.” She said while looking at him. “Do you want to sleep? Get some rest for tomorrow.” She asked.
“Yeah that’s smart. Come cuddle with me.” He said while opening his arms so that she could climb in.
“Okay. But sleep. Please.” She said looking at her boyfriend.
“Of course love.” He said while they laid comfortable in bed. They closed their eyes and drifted to sleep.
———————————<3—————————————
The next day Logan chose to let Y/n sleep. He knew she as still tired from her shows so he decited to let her sleep and write a note. He set an alarm on her phone so that she could wake up on time and then left with the nite lying on the kitchen counter.
Once he arrived at the garage in the paddock Lily immediately came up to him asking where Y/n was. He explained it.
Once they were done with going over the strategy for qualifying he walked out to do a quick last minute track walk. Once he was walking a few people came up to him.
“Hey man how are you?” That was Lando. Logan didn’t know why he was talking to him, they never talked. Oscar also wasn’t there so that was extra weird, because every time Lando or another driver talked to him Alex or Oscar where with him. It was sad, for sure, but it was the reality that Logan was living. And he kind of liked it. It was quite and he had a lot of time to himself, and that way it was easier to hide his relationship with you.
“I’m good. You?” He asked trying to be polite and not sound confused. Because that is what he was, confused. Why was Lando talking to him? And not only Lando, no, Carlos and Charles were also there. Because where Lando goes, Carlos goes and where valies goes, Charles goes. That is how it works.
“Yeah we’re fine.” Lando replied for him and the other drivers. “So I have a question.” Lando said getting straight to the point.
“What is it?” Logan asked. He was still confused with all this, but it was undoubtedly going to make more sense once he knew the question.
“I heard you’re single?” Lando said. And before Logan could reply Lando had already continue talking. “Well I have this friend, she’s American . And she said that you’re cute, so I offered to set you up. So you have a date tomorrow evening.” Lando said, getting straight to the point again. Behind him were Carlos and Charles looking amused, wanting to know how this was going to turn out.
Now it made sense to Logan. He wanted something from him. Logan thought about his wander for a bit, should he say he had a girlfriend? Would they believe him? He knows he isn’t going on that date, no way. Y/n would like it. But she also wouldn’t like if he jay said that they were dating. But he didn’t have to say that it was her… so he came up with the plan.
“No thank you.” He said and then walked away. Yeah… that was the master plan. Just say no and walk away. Of course it didn’t go as he had wished, because Lando immediately followed, Carlos and Charles trailing slowly behing. Wearing amused smiles with how this was going.
“Wait what? I thought you want someone? Who wants to be single? She’s a really nice girl, very cute too. You two would get along.” Lando ranted while quickly catching up with him. Logan didn’t to look as amused as the other boys.
“Sound like you want het more.” Lando said back to Lando. He tried look for anyone else in the track so that he could escape from this conversation.
“No. I havo a girlfriend. Why don’t you want to go?” Lando said accidentally exposing himself, he ding notice. To busy with wondering why Logan didn’t want to go on a date with his friend.
“Who said I was single?” Logan asked again. Avoiding to sensed why he didn’t want to go on a date.
“Well everyone. The driver, mechanic, even some of your team, and basically everyone on the internet.” Lando said revealing his sources.
“Well you believe them? You know how many tongues there are. And there is a lot of gossip going around track. And as you said, people also think you are single. So why also me?” Logan said making Lando and the other 2 think. He took that time to quickly walk away. He finished his walk and then immediately returned to the garage, wanting to see if Y/n was awake and had messaged him.
She did. She said goodmoring and good luck. Once Logan read that he decited to train some more and then get ready for qualifying.
After qualifying Y/n had messaged Logan. He got p13! It wasn’t the best but it was okay.
Logan did the post qualifying interviews and then a last debrief if the day. He then returned to his car, not after taking pictures with fans and signing a few things. He saw some people with his stuff on, he always got happy about that. It showed him that he was important, that people liked him, and even tough he had a change of losing his seat, that he had made it into f1 and that people saw him as a good driver. He took a quick picture to show it to Y/n when he got back. She would be proud. She always is.
And before he got the change to step in his car someone called out his name. The someone being Lando. He was there, again. Logan already had a suspicion about what it was going to be, but he had hope that the McLaren driver just came there for a friendly chat. That wasn’t the case.
“Jo Logan. Can you tell me if you want to go on that date or not? And why not? Cause the girl keeps asking about it and I want her to know.” Lando asked apr och ing him. And with that, all his hoped have disappeared, and instead there came the wanting to go home to his girlfriend.
“As I already said. No I don’t want to go. And I don’t want to go because I am already in a really happy relationship. So if you can just stop with asking me and just let me return to my girlfriend, then I would greatly appreciate that.” Logan said kind of snappy. He opened his car door and sat down. He looked at Lando one time, who was looking quite shocked, and then smalend the door shut, he was going to regret that later. He started the car and drove away to his hotel to his girlfriend.
Once he got back he immediately told her everything that had happened that day. Keeping the part about Lando and his question for last so that she could react to that (she always waited for him to stop with his story before talking. He did the same, that was the way their relationship worked). To say she was shocked was understandable. But surprisingly she wasn’t jealous (despite what some of her songs say), no, she was more angry. Not at Logan, but at Lando. For only talking to her boyfriend about that. He always felt bad that no one on the grid besides Oscar and Alex talks to him (the other sometimes talking to him but that beung ‘forced’ by the other two boys or their teams) and then now talking only for this.
After he got all that of of his chest and Y/n had helped him and talked to him Logan wanted to talk about something else. “What if we just hard launch tomorrow?” He asks a bit nervous.
Y/n laughed a bit at how nerveus he is. It’s like their first date all over. “Yeah, if that’s what you want. But I don’t only want it to be because you want to prove something. I want it to be because you want it. Because I’m totally okay with it.” She says.
“Okay. Then that’s the plan. Would you want to walk with me in the paddock? Or do you want to do it after the race?” Logan asked wanting you to come up with a plan.
“Maybe after? I think it would be fun to see people try and figure out why I am Williams.” She said.
“Aright. That’s good.” Logan said.
After those conversations they got to bed early so that they were well rested the next day.
———————————<3—————————————
The next day Y/n and Logan woke up and got ready for the day (with Y/n helping Logan pick out his clothes (the girlfriend effect is real)). Logan took his car and Y/n took another with her driver driving her (that so they could drive back to the hotel together).
They walked in separately, y/b also going a bit later. Once she entered the paddock a lot of people want crazy, she was quite well know after all, a lot of people where wondering why she was there, where was she staying, and why was it not announces
She walked around while people took pictures and a few fans walked towards her asking for pictures and autographs.
What she also noticed is that quite allot of drivers also looked at her. She heard from Logan that a few of them liked her musics and where trying to get tickets for her show. He even said that some of them had a crush on her. But she didn’t expect it like this; them awkwardly looking at her just silently. She also saw some of them asking their team principal if she would stay with them, the answer being no.
While she took longer than initially thought walking to the garage, that being because of fans and reporters wanted her attention. And all the way of her walking to Williams people where filming and camera’s where on her.
When she entered, well let’s just say she saw the shock on some faces. But they had expected it.
The girl spent a almost half an hour almost unbothered (beside Logan annoying her, the same with Alex and Lily and some other people and guests at Williams). But then the chaos began. She walked out of the garage to get some food and then she was them; a few of the drivers where talking, more like gossiping. And when they saw her they immediately stopped. That’s when Lewis, who was is the group, walked up to her. They had met before so she expected him to come talk to her sometime.
“Hey Y/n. How are you? I didn’t know you would come.” He said trying to make some small talk while also trying to figure out why she was at Williams and not at a different… better… garage.
“Hey Lewis. Good to see you. I’m great, quite busy but it’s amazing. But yeah, I thought it would be fun to come see a race sometimes.” She said, she knew what he wanted to know, but she wanted him to ask directly instead of her just telling him.
“Yeah great. I heard the tour is going good?” He asked.
“Yeah, it’s going amazing. I’m so proud of it. It really is a nee milestone in my career.” She said gappy to talk about her tour.
“Yeah, amazing. I saw some things of it. It looks really cool.” The 7 time world champion said.
“Yeah it is. If you want to go sometimes I could get you some tickets. Just say when and where.” She said. Hoping that he would take her op on the offer. She had always been an f1 fan, so it would be amazing is her and her boyfriends hero would like to go to her tour.
“Yeah, that would be amazing. I will message you sometime. I have some friends who really want to see you but didn’t get tickets.” He said. He still wanted to know why Williams?
“Great. I hope you will enjoy it. So are you ready for the race?” The singer responded.
“Oh yeah. I’m ready to see how it’s going to go. Hopefully get some points and maybe even podium.” Lewis said.
“Oh yeah, that would be great.” The girl said.
“So… Why are you at Williams?” Lewis asked. Finally, he got to the long awated question. He still tried to be respectful as he said it.
“Well. I guess I just wanted to be in a garage of a team like. And I suppose that is Williams.” She said. Trying to be as nonchalant as possible. He didn’t believe her. Almost nobody was a Williams fan, and maybe there were, but not a A-list celebrity.
“Alright. I can respect that.” He said. The conversation was starting to get awkward. So Y/n decided to end the torture.
“I’m glad. Well I guess I have to go. It was great to speek with you gain, let me know about those tickets.” She said. While they said their last goodbyes she walked back into the garage, she knew she wasn’t going to get her food, so she just gave up. She turned around one last time in the garage to see where Lewis was. He was retelling the conversation to the other curious drivers. Of course he was. F1 is basically gossip on weeks. So after looking for a bit longer she walked farther innige garens towards Logan’s driving room to tell him all about her conversation. She liked gossip as well.
———————————<3—————————————
The race was well… surprising… some might say.
It began … okay. But it was the end that shocked everyone.
In the race both Ferraris and one of the Williams DNF’d. Just not the one you might expect.
Because thanks to his… great, qualifying. Logan could go further and further until he was in the top 5.
That was when it got scary. The car had a few problems but that would be something to discuss later. Logan took a quick pitstop while safety car was out, and with that he made it to P3.
He stayed there for a long time. Until…
In the last few laps he had a battle with Lando. They got back and forth for the 2bd place. Both teams being quite … surprised. McLaren didnt expect for Williams, well Logan, to be such a thread. And Williams didn’t expect for Logan to do such a great job and actually get an interesting race out of the shit car they made.
So when at the last lap one of the drivers finally gained some speed and put a few millie seconds between them the team was well… releaved.
There he was, Logan Sargeant. Formula 1 driver for Williams, second year, his first ever podium. And that being second?!
Well let’s just say he let a few tears slip. He felt a lot of emotions; happiness, love, adrenaline and acceptance. He heard the crowd cheating, his team running to congratulate him. You coming to congratulate him. He felt like he was finally accepted as an legitimate Formula 1 driver, not just someone that was in the sport but wasn’t talented. He knew what he had to do.
So he ran to his team and immediately searched fir you. There you where; at the from at the barrier with the team around you. He walked- more like rubbed- towards you and looked at you for a second. Almost like asking permission. You nodded. He kissed you. In front of everyone. This would be your hard launch, after him finishing P2 at the Canadian Grand Prix.
You two heard cameras going wild. You pulled apart and he was immediately greeted by his team congratulating him. While he was doing that you looked at the other drivers. They where shocked. Lando looked like he had seen a ghost. So he did have a girlfriend, and that was you?! He couldn’t believe it. A few of the others where just shocked because 1. They didn’t know Logan was seeing someone. And 2. HOW DID HE PULL YOU?!?!
You just ignored it and looked at your boyfriend. After he was done with his team he began the interview and then the cool-down room. With both Max and Lando congratulating him on his great driving skills.
After that they did the podium ceremony, with the Dutch national anthem playing. When they did the champagne spraying both of tej other drivers sprayed on him before spraying their teams.
After the podium he interviews and then he did a team debrief. When he was down he same to his drivers room. He said a quick help to his girlfriend before talking a quick shower to wash the champagne off.
Once he was clothed again they walked towards his car, hand in hand. They where reveals to the world so they could do that now. They drove back to the hotel for a quick fresh up befriended going to a club Max invited them to to celebrate the win. After partying for a bit they returned to the hotel and talked some more before going to sleep.
They had doen it, they had followed their dreams. Y/n was a world famous sing and songwriter and was touring her newest album. And Logan, he was a Formula 1 driver. Finally with a podium. And while he would lose his Williams seat for the next year, he gained a new one. Because Mercedes got ahold of his data and wanted him. So they got him a good car and he won, more and more and more and more and, well you get it now. He even won 2 championships.
And Y/n eventually got a level of fame no one could even think of (think of Taylor swift level). They got married and had a family that would leave a legacy that would go on forever. The Sargeant-L/n family was a family of all talented people. From F1 drivers, to singers, to poets, to footballers. They would forever be known as one of the greatest families. All because of Logan and Y/n.

calm after the storm - toxic!ex!babydaddy!jj wants you back so bad it makes him look stupid :( a/n: i would like to give a HUGE thank you to @redhead1180 for the baby names i owe you a million kisses <3 18+ smut, p in v, unprotected sex
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JJ had never been in your forever plan, at least not after the first breakup. Sometimes you couldn’t help but wonder how different your life would’ve been had you just had a stronger resolve. Over 3 years in total when you had gotten pregnant, on and off, but the off periods never lasted long; you and JJ just couldn’t stay away from each other.
You had been broken up for about 2 weeks when you found out you were 6 weeks pregnant with your daughter. You and JJ tried to make it work for the remaining 7 and a half months, but something in him always knew how to piss you off, and something in you practically challenged him to do so, so the last month of your pregnancy, you called it off, “For good this time. I mean it, JJ,” you had told him. Of course he didn’t believe you, why should he?
But you made good on your word, at least, more so than you had in the past. You went six whole months without caving, and when you did cave, finally letting JJ back into your bed, you made sure to tell your daughter’s father that it didn’t change anything; you still weren’t together.
Now, your beautiful daughter Lilly was over a year old, and somehow you and JJ made co-parenting work despite not being together, but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t still get pangs of jealousy when the other moms at the park checked him out. What you didn’t know was JJ felt the same way, constantly, just knowing you were ‘single’ drove him nuts.
Before Lilly, sure, JJ had wandering eyes, he never actually cheated, at least not by having sex with anyone else, but in the past, you had caught girls in his dms, and while he never explicitly gave them a chance, he didn’t do much to reject them either. But once you brought his daughter into this world, there would never again be any doubt in his mind that you were the only one for him.
So while you were mentally preparing for the day that JJ brought another woman over to meet your guys’ daughter, he was figuring out a way to get you back.
So, here you were, waiting for JJ to come pick up Lilly for his weekend with her. Hair and makeup done because you were ready for a break from crying, breastfeeding, changing diapers, and worse of all, Lilly hadn’t stopped asking for da-da all day; you needed tequila.
When you heard the rumble of John B’s van (JJ started borrowing it for pick ups after you gave him a long lecture that babies cannot ride on motorbikes), you stood up, holding Lilly on your hip as you opened the door and stood in the doorway.
JJ rolled his eyes the second he got out of the van and saw you, looking all pretty for someone that wasn’t him, but his grimace dropped the second he locked eyes with his daughter, who immediately started reaching for him.
“There’s my sweet girl, you miss daddy?” JJ cooed softly as he took her from your arms, smiling at her sweetly before he turned back to you, his eyes trailing up and down your silhouette before turning back to lovingly baby-talk to his daughter. “Why does mommy look like she’s trying to get me to give you a sibling, hm?”
You rolled your eyes. “Not that it’s any of your business, Jesse,” you sneered, “but I’m going out tonight.” “With who?” JJ was quickly to ask, bouncing Lilly in his arms to keep her placated, his eyes focused on you.  “What part of none of your business did you miss?”
Now it was JJ’s turn to roll his eyes. “Whatever,” he said, grabbing her diaper bag and throwing it over his shoulder with the hand that wasn’t holding Lilly. “Call me when he can’t get you off.”
Before Lilly, you would’ve chewed him out for saying something like that, so cocky, but now, he wasn’t just JJ, the annoying guy who unfortunately was your first love, but he was your daughter’s father, and for her benefit, you learned when to bite your tongue. Like now.
When your girl friends showed up to drive you to the bar you couldn’t be more grateful for the break. Truthfully, you had been nervous about JJ being a father, going as far to offer him an ‘out’ when you told him the news, but he couldn’t have proved you more wrong. He read the books (skimmed) and got sober (on his days with her) and got a good paying job (and a few side hustles). He wasn’t a deadbeat dad, furthest from it. He was constantly texting you to ask if he could stop by before or after work, or when he was on break to see her, he gave you money even though you never took him to court, he bought things for her for his place and yours, and even bought stuff for you to make sure you were taken care of too. You had no worries about leaving JJ alone with Lilly for the whole weekend.
You were two shots deep before you couldn’t get JJ off your mind, not worried about your daughter, or if he was struggling with her, oh no, this was different. You felt your thighs clench together when you picture the way he held Lilly earlier today. You can feel uncomfort between your legs when you remember his snide comment about giving Lilly a sibling. You down your third shot and pull out your phone, immediately opening your texts with JJ.
You: how’s Lil?
JJ is immediately texting back, only a second passing before the read time comes up.
JJ: need me already? You: i asked how our daughter is JJ: she’s fine already asleep. got the baby monitor on her.
You bit your lip as you tried to think of what you could say next, but before you had to struggle long, you felt your phone vibrate in your hand.
JJ: u coming home or what?
You quickly said goodnight to your friends, bumbling out an excuse about Lilly, and ordering an uber to JJ’s front door.
When JJ pulled the front door back, it was with a cocky grin already plastered to his lips.
“Knew you missed me,” he said, his voice low. “I wanted to check on Lilly…” you say, trying to feign innocence. “Lilly’s sleeping,” JJ replies, cocking his head slightly, calling your bluff. When you didn’t say anything, just stared at him with crossed arms, not wanting to give him the satisfaction, he let out a huff and opened the door wider, allowing you in. Without a word you went past him, you knew your way around JJ’s place like it was your own. You slowly opened the door to Lilly’s room, turning your head to look inside her crib. Like promised, she was sound asleep, in mismatched pajamas, but otherwise okay.
You slowly backed up, closing the door with you, but the second you heard the click of the door, JJ’s lips were on yours, his hand on your waist and pushing you against the adjacent wall. A part of you wanted to push JJ off of you out of spite, but the other part wanted him so bad, you couldn’t help but kiss him back.
“There she is,” JJ mumbled against your lips between kisses. Your hand came up to his cheek, pulling him closer in an attempt to silence him. He quickly leaned down to put his hands underneath your thighs, pulling you up to carry you to his bedroom, closing the door with his foot before collapsing on top of you on the bed.
“Knew you still wanted me,” JJ mumbled before his lips kissed down your jaw to your neck, quick to mark his territory. “Shut- up-” you mumble as you hold back small noises of satisfaction. “‘S okay… better even… you’ll always come home to daddy, won’t you, mamas?” JJ ask gruffly, his hands already moving to trail under your shirt and pull it up to your neck, freeing your breasts.
You stayed silent, well except for little huffs you couldn’t help but let out as the moment became more and more heated. But JJ wanted an answer. When your hands moved down to untie the strings to his plaid pajama pants, his hand enveloped yours, forcing you to stop. “Say it…”
You bit your lip as you looked up at him, eyes flickering between his rapidly with need. “I’ll always come home to you daddy…” A smirk stretched its way across his lips as his fingers expertly untied his pajamas pants. “That’s right, mamas… no one else gonna fuck you like I do, you need this dick. Say it.”
“Need your dick, daddy,” you mumble, spreading your legs more for him, allowing him to slot himself right where he belonged as he flipped the hem of your skirt up. JJ pulled himself out of his boxers, his dick already hard in his hand as he slid his tip through your folds. “What do you need, baby?” At this point, you were annoyed. He knew what you wanted, why couldn’t he just get on with it?“You! JJ, I need you, please-”
That was all he needed to hear before slamming into you entirely, your head immediately falling back into the pillow. It had been a couple months since the last time you caved, but the stretch burned with delicious familiarity, something only JJ could give you.
“Fuck! JJ-” you groaned, but he quickly shut you up by moving his hips. “You feel so fucking good, mamas… can’t believe this pussy gave me a baby…” he seethed out, his hips moving at a merciless pace. Small whines and whimpers left your mouth despite your attempts to quiet yourself, until finally you just bit down on JJ’s shoulders, clinging onto him for dear life while he fucked you the way only he could. “Think it could give me another?” you didn’t miss his mumbled words.
“Shut up-” you panted out, wrapping your legs around his waist to encourage him to go deeper. “Want a boy this time…” JJ said between small grunts that left his throat with each thrust. “Whatcha think ‘bout that, hmm baby? Little mini-JJ?”
He knew what his words would do to you, because that’s exactly how you ended up with Lilly. Your eyes rolled back as he hit particularly deep, pulling a loud moan from you. You’d give him whatever he wanted as long as he kept moving his hips, your orgasm already nearing.
“Gonna wake the baby, sweetheart. Gotta keep quiet for me, cupcake,” JJ said his voice low, partial groans escaping with his words. You had to bite down on your lip to keep yourself muffled, your fingertips digging into the flesh of his shoulders, pulling him down closer, giving him the perfect opportunity to press his lips to yours. The kiss was ravenous, like JJ might swallow you whole just to keep you here, and it was just what you needed to push you over the edge, his lips muffled your moans perfectly.
In the blinding pleasure of your orgasm, you didn’t feel him cum inside you, but once you were both laying side by side, panting unevenly, you slowly felt the warmth drip out of you.
“Are you fucking serious?” you said, not angry, more annoyed, sitting up on your elbows to look at him, his eyes focused on your face, a smile on his lips. “Told you I wanted a mini-me.”

hi lilli!! i heard angst and i came running, how about searching for each other in crowded rooms, finding each other everywhere with logan or oscar, whoever sparks the most inspo, but plot twist—not being able to be together for some reason (the why is totally up to you, feel free to ignore if this isn't your cup of tea). thank u thank u <3
kait!!! hello!!! thank u for sending this in!!! im gonna do oscar 😁 it genuinely hurt my feelings SO BADLY to not have them make up at the end of this. so i sympathise with everyone that im about to make sad it was a bad time for me too❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
Tumblr media
It's familiar, this feeling.
The squeeze of your chest, the grieving, panicking thing climbing up your throat. You've been feeling it a lot lately, every time you catch a glimpse of someone with hair the same colour as Oscar's; wearing clothes you swear that he has; a person with the same shoulders, the same gait.
You've been seeing him everywhere. You just think you have. Monaco is small… not that small apparently.
When it had first happened, at the beginning of summer break, you’d half expected to be back together within a week. For Oscar to message you and half-beg to talk to you again. In your dreams, you’d both come grovelling back to each other, apologising for cruel words, making amends for various mistakes. Then you would kiss him and you’d tell him how much you love him and things would get better.
Instead, you’ve spent weeks of your summer break totally and utterly miserable. Missing Oscar like a phantom limb. You reach for him, he’s not there. You go to text him, find a thread of messages discussing the logistics of returning the other’s belongings.
You sit in your flat and you watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy twice in a row twenty two hours and forty-four minutes because it doesn’t remind you of Oscar and it occupies your time in a way nothing else can right now. You cry until your eyes are puffy and you write in a diary you’ve never touched before, because it needs to go somewhere. The feeling stuck in your throat needs to be written down said out loud and you can’t say it to Oscar, who you would usually tell everything, because he needs “distance from you right now”.
Briefly, you convince yourself that “right now”, indicates that there still might be a later for the two of you. That this thing between you that’s fallen to pieces might one day be salvaged. In the quiet moments of Lord of the Rings you spiral down a rabbit hole of ways to get Oscar back, pathetic fantasies of how you might convince him to talk to you again. Then Arwen says, “I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone” and you cry for two hours straight.
You sob, your face in your pillow and you think that was supposed to me! That was supposed to be us! And maybe it wasn’t, maybe you’re not an elven maiden giving up her immortality for a mere man, but you love Oscar. You wanted to spend the rest of your life with Oscar. And now… now…
Well—
It is the waiting that’s the worst.
No texts, no calls. Lando sends you a few, but you can’t bear to hold a conversation with him, knowing he’s playing both sides. And anyway, you’re just thinking about Oscar. Is he there? Is he reading your texts? Seeing the pathetic selfies of you on your couch in days-old PJs? Is he staring at your stagnant text thread just like you are? Has he blocked you?
Your every waking thought is consumed by him. You drag yourself out of the apartment for coffee down the street and you wonder what he’s doing. Has he been rotting at home like you? More than likely he’s been doing things. Playing padel with Lando, going out for lunch, training at the gym, FaceTiming his family.
You feel sick to you stomach. You can list on one hand the activities that you’ve done since Oscar broke up with you at the beginning of the month:
Sleeping, crying, watching Lord of the Rings, ordering takeout, training because you have to. Going for coffee had been a big step out of your current comfort zone. You’re wearing pants that aren’t sweatpants… you’d even showered properly for fuckssake.
You got your most noise-cancelling headphones on, blasting sad Taylor Swift (who you don’t even like. It’s just something to fill the void) and staring down the barista so you can lip-read if they’re saying your name or the words Large Oat Latte. And then—
Then. The barista is mouthing Oscar and your stomach lurches as the exact object of your ire temporary depression walks to the counter. You try to convince yourself it’s not him, you keep seeing him places but it’s never really him. But it is, that’s his burgundy shirt, his swoop of hair, his knobbly little ankles.
You release a ragged breath that you hope isn’t too loud. You duck your head, try to avoid his gaze as he turns, pretending that you haven’t seen him. Try to look occupied by your phone though you’ve only had time to open to your home screen. Tears prick at the corners of your eyes, you blink furiously, trying your best not to fall apart in this coffee shop.
At least he’s not with someone else, you think as a tightness crawls up your throat to settle at the base of your tongue. But he looks happy, he looks fine, he looks better than you feel right now. God, what if he’s better off without you? What does it mean that you don’t seem to better off without him?
There’s something wet sliding down your left cheek and then you see Nike trainers entering your vision, still directed firmly downward. Someone puts a hand on your shoulder— you don’t jump but it’s a near thing. You reach up to slip your headphones off, wiping the tear discreetly as you go. Then you look up and it’s him, it’s Oscar.
He’s holding out a paper cup labeled, Oat Latte and smiling at you tightly.
“They were calling your name,” he says by way of explanation.
“Right,” your voice is shaky, weak, “Thanks.”
He nods, you take the coffee, careful not to touch his hand. You’re trying to swallow down the lump in your throat that’s rising rising trying to claw its way out of your mouth. You blink away the tears filling the corners of your eyes. You can’t look at him.
You’re looking up at the ceiling instead, biting the inside of your mouth. Breathing in and out, in and out.
He says your name, and then, “Do you want to talk?”
You feel like a tonne of bricks has just hit your chest. Knocking the wind out of you. Tears, hot and wet, are slipping down your cheeks. You can’t speak, you turn around and leave the coffee shop without saying anything because surely you’ll just start crying if you open your mouth. Oscar finds you again across the road, in a dark cobbled alleyway. The heel of your hand is pressed to the middle of your chest, you’re hiccuping, trying to stifle heavy sobs that you’d much prefer to let out in the privacy of your own apartment.
“Hey,” he says, gathering you into his arms before you can push him away, “It’s okay.”
You whine, collapsing into his chest, face pressing into his shoulder, “No, it’s not.”
You cry loudly, trying fruitlessly to keep the sobs in. Oscar’s hand rubs comforting circles into your back, which makes it better until you realise it’s Oscar, which makes it immediately worse. You stay there a while. Until your eyes are puffy and your throat sore.
“Better?”, Oscar asks, the crease between his eyebrows prominent.
You sigh tiredly, shrug, “Sure.”
Your coffee is cold now, your chest feels void, hollow.
You shake your head before Oscar can say anything further, before you’re set off on another fucking pathetic crying fit in the arms of your ex-boyfriend, “I can’t talk, Oscar. I really can’t.”
“Okay,” he says, nodding and swallowing some lump in his own throat.
You bite down hard on your tongue. Turn to leave the dark alley to go home, your back prickling with Oscar’s wet brown-eyed stare on you. He lets you leave. You spend the ten minute walk wiping tears before they fall and itching to run back, to kiss him, to pour all the emotion in your chest into some physical action.
There’s an awful grieving ache in your chest that’s carving out your insides and when you check your phone after walking in the door there’s a text from Oscar that reads:
I miss you. I’d really like to talk to you soon.
Tumblr media
not sure if it was weird but the lord of the rings Mentions were kinda about how you’re in such a fragile state during a breakup that something as irrelevant to your break up at lord of the rings will make you cry for hours for no real reason. (and not to expose myself but after a break up i did watch the lotr trilogy two times in a row. told my friends and got a text from one of them asking if i was depressed 😭 like yes… temporarily alright)
send me a prompt/req + driver and i'll write something. pls check if my requests are open first 💖

Bookstore boy - Matt Rempe x gender neutral reader
Warnings: 18+ smut, mutual masturbation, sexting, sex toys
Summary: Matt, your bookstore regular, finally gets your number. What happens when he gathers the courage to message you first?
Word count: 2.9k
It’s hard to be subtle when you’re standing literally head and shoulders above the top of the bookcases. Matt loves shopping at tiny little bookstores or small secondhand book shops but this is always the drawback; he was like a bull in a China shop bumbling around the tight corners and too close together shelves. Turning another corner he was at least glad that no one else was in the aisle. Grinding the wobbly shelf is one thing but he hated having to try to move his arms, legs, and body awkwardly around while trying to avoid contact with a stranger in public. Luckily for him he was alone…well it was him, the shop cat (there was always a shop cat in small stores, and it was another reason Matt liked coming to them. Hockey guys always had dogs and he was never much of a dog person) and the bored, presumably nonbinary college aged cashier scrolling on their phone at the front register.
He pulled a worn book down from the shelf in front of him, the smell of dust and decades-old paper wafting as he opened the front cover and prayed silently that it wouldn’t crack off in his hands. He was flipping pages, reading through small passages to see if he wanted to add it to his growing collection of random paperbacks when he heard the front doorbell ring as another body entered the shop.
“Hey Lilly,” the new voice said, “you can head on break I’ll grab the register.” Matt pretended to keep reading as he peeked over the shelves across the store to see the new cashier who now took their post at the front of the shop. The two employees discussed a few work matters before the first cashier, who he now knew was Lilly, asked their coworker for their lunch order (“nah I'm good just grab me one of those white sugar-free monsters, ok?”) before the tinkling of the bell on the door marked the return of just two bodies in the shop. He thought he was being inconspicuous when he heard a voice call out in his direction.
“You know I can see you, right? It's sort of hard not to when you’re the tallest thing in the shop.” At first Matt still tried his rouse of pretending to read before realizing it was futile and he pulled the book away from his face. “At least tell me your name if you’re going to gawk at me,” the cashier continued.
“Uhhh Matt.” (Shit my voice is cracking. Try it again.) “My name is Matt,” he said after clearing his throat.
“What are you reading there, Matt?”
He began briefly summarizing what he had gleaned from the pages of the fantasy book in his hand when he realized he didn't know this person’s name. “Sorry, I didn’t ask your name, did I?”
“Y/N. My name is Y/N.”
Matt would appear at the small New Jersey shop every few weeks when the Rangers were back home. He liked the anonymity of it (as anonymous as a few jeers from the local hockey fans and lots of stares at his size could be) and he especially liked talking to you. You talked about books you both read and were going to read (“You know if it has a map of the land printed in the title pages it's going to be a good one”), hockey (“Matt, I just don’t like your team. You guys suck.” “But we’re first in the league! How can you even say we’re bad?” “Because you just are!” “Yeah, rich coming from a Devils fan”), and even life in general (“yeah I mean sometimes it gets lonely being so far from my mom back home but I’ve been making friends with the guys especially since I’ve been living with Quick.” “What about your love life? That has to be helping.” “…What love life?”)
As the season wore on his visits became more and more spaced out; Matt had been getting more ice time and therefore had to be practicing even harder to keep his spot in the lineup, but he would pop in whenever he had some free time and some patience to deal with New Jersey Transit. It wasn’t all bad though; as time wore on he was even closer with his teammates and about two months after meeting you for the first time Matt finally got your number. “You know, in case you want to talk about books or whatever when you’re out of town,” you said as you scribbled the ten digits onto a post it and attached it to Matt’s latest purchase.
Later that night, Matt agonized over hitting the send button. He thought texting seemed like too much, too serious for this, so he decided to use your phone number to find your Snapchat (as if this made the act less weird). All the text said was, “Hey, it’s Matt,” but it still felt weird. What if he seemed like a loser texting so soon? What if you just gave your number to talk about books and not because there was some weird…tension between you two whenever he was in the shop? What if this was a joke and it wasn’t even a real number? “Ughhh fine,” he said to himself, hitting “add friend” and pressing send on his message before tossing his phone to the foot of his bed so he didn’t sit and wait and watch eagerly for a response. A few minutes went by and Matt still didn’t see that you had opened his message. Admitting defeat, he stripped off his jeans and sweatshirt and gathered up his things for a shower.
When he got back to his room a half hour later he saw three notifications on his phone.
“Hey, nice to hear from you :) Not that I was waiting, that would be really weird.
Ok now that sounded weird. Anyway, hi Matt. What are you up to? How is that book you grabbed today?”
Matt smiled to himself and read and reread the messages when another notification popped in: a picture. He took a deep breath and opened it embarrassingly fast. Staring back at him was a selfie of you, this time without the glasses and work clothes from earlier, replaced with a bare face and an oversized Devils hoodie. He could see that from this angle you made it clear that he wanted to show off your legs, your supple thighs peeking out from the bottom of the clothing. Not so casually, Matt imagined this would be what you looked like wearing one of his hoodies and then immediately tried to erase the image from his mind. Matt sat up in bed, taking in the image from top to bottom. He was so thankful you forgot to change the time settings so he had all the time in the world.
He couldn’t stop staring, knowing he was smiling like an idiot at the phone. It’s not weird, everyone gets a little excited when their new friend texts them though, and obviously everyone thinks about hanging out with their friend when they’re at work, or in bed before they sleep, or in the shower when they’re jacking off. Ok, maybe not that last one but was it his fault you were so cute and your lips looked so kissable and your ass filled out your jeans so well? And fuck, those thighs looked delicious.
Matt felt that familiar blood-rushing feeling as he kept looking at you and thinking about your eyes and how your eyeliner would run when he fucked you senseless, how big his cock would look in your cute little hands as you jerked him off, and your smile and how it would look so much cuter sucking around his head and taking him into the back of your throat. “Shit,” Matt said quietly as he slipped his hands into his sweats to relieve some of the pressure. He pumped himself, slowly at first as he languished in the feeling but speeding up as flashes of you riding him in nothing but that hoodie came into his head. The thoughts kept flooding his mind and soon enough he felt his sticky release into his hand. Cleaning himself off he realized he’d left you on read, like an asshole.
“Hey,” he typed once he threw on a new pair of shorts, “I haven’t even started it yet honestly. I’ve been busy tonight.” You didn’t need to know what he was busy with, but seeing as the reply was going out after midnight Matt couldn’t help but feel like maybe he could be caught. He felt like a high school kid again, hard at the very thought of someone cute giving him attention and needing to get off as soon as possible. He was sheepish as he laid back in bed, a slight blush on his cheeks. What the fuck was going on here?
The sound of his phone alerting him to a new message tore Matt from his thoughts. He jumped to open the message embarrassingly quickly, knowing that with the read receipts, he was about to look desperate. “Oooh late night business? I won’t even ask LMAO. Well, good thing you have a road trip coming up, more than enough time to catch up on some reading.”
Matt smiled, thinking it was sweet that you knew his schedule even when he only mentioned the upcoming trip in passing. Then he remembered he was in the NHL and everyone could technically know his schedule, and he felt the embarrassment creep up his neck.
“True. I haven’t been sleeping too well lately anyway, so even more time to read.”
Another picture came in, this time of you in bed. Your hair was messy and your bare shoulders and neck hinted at the rest of your bare skin below the blanket not so carefully pulled up to your chest. ‘Two can play at that game,’ Matt thought. He laid back in bed, putting a hand behind his head so his bicep was flexed and you could see his pecs. He hoped at this angle his bedhead looked sexy rather than messy and before he could overthink it he hit send.
“So that’s what an NHL player has got in terms of ]game? Just a bare arm huh? No wonder you have so many people in line begging for dates.”
Ouch, that one stung a little bit but maybe he just needed to be a little bolder to shut you up. Padding down the hall to the bathroom, Matt closed the door behind him and stood in front of the mirror. He pulled his shorts down just enough to show off his v-lines and the full expanse of his tight abs; trapped in his basketball shorts was just enough of his growing hardness to show off but not too much to technically be lewd. Flexing just so, he snapped a pic in the mirror and typed “Nah, this is why they’re lining up” and quickly sent it before he could pick it apart and decide not to go through with it.
“Now that’s a good boy,” the response said. “you look absolutely fuckable.” Matt felt a growl rise up in his throat, knowing you felt about him and how he felt about you. “I only wish I could see more.”
“Not without something in return,” Matt sent back. He saw you start to type and then stop and he held his breath for what seemed like days. This could be it, he was explicitly crossing the friend line now and you would either shut him down and never text him again, or he was about to see something beautiful. A few minutes later a video came through, and Matt braced himself for you telling him off and saying you hated him. But, when he opened the message it was you in bed propping your phone up against the wall before you moved back to slowly strip off the hoodie you were now wearing. His eyes followed your fingers as they trailed your body, up and down your chest, over your nipples, down your stomach, to the band of the tiny shorts you were wearing. Your fingers looped under the fabric and began to inch them down to your hips and Matt was practically willing you to remove the final piece of clothing when you winked to the camera and leaned in to end the video.
Suddenly, his phone began to ring and he realized you were calling him through Snapchat. “Matt,” you whispered, voice raspy. “What are you doing right now?”
His brain was numb. “I…I’m in bed. Looking at how gorgeous you are.”
“Did you like my video?”
“Of course, I did,” he did his best to sound cool and collected but he wasn’t quite sure it was working. He heard the smirk in your voice as you asked, “Are you hard right now?” He gulped, pausing a moment, not sure if this was still a test and you would laugh and hang up. “How could I not be? Your body is amazing.”
There was a pause on your end. “Matty, I want you to touch yourself for me. Imagine I was there with you.” Oh fuck, this is really happening. “Stroke yourself nice and slow.” Matt did what he was told without a second thought. The desire in your voice was palpable and he could faintly hear the buzzing of a vibrator in the background. “Now show me. I want to see how big you are, babe.”
Matt immediately pulled the phone from his ear and angled it towards his dick. He held it in his hand and sent a video with the other as he jerked himself for you. Eight inches (which, considering his height, he felt wasn’t too bad), and a fierce pink at the tip being revealed as the foreskin went up and down with his movements. In the dim light of his phone, he could see the precum glistening on his head and he groaned your name into the phone before he ended his own video.
“Fuck, Matt that’s so hot. I wish I was there to taste you,” you whispered into the phone. Matt could hear the vibrator increase in speed and it just made him harder as he thought of you pleasuring yourself to the sight of him. Him, all him, making you cum. He couldn’t help but moan softly as he kept his movements going. “Tell me about it, baby,” he whispered back. “Tell me what you’d want me to do to you.”
“Well,” you started, “right now I’m thinking of you bending me over your bed and fucking me from behind. I can practically feel you in my stomach with how deep you’d be inside of me.”
“Oh fuuuuck,” he groaned, having to drop his cock to avoid cumming too soon. He wanted more of this, so he teased you in the only way he could now. “You’d like that wouldn’t you, being filled up with my dick.” You choked on a moan of your own, “Yes, Matt. Please stuff me full of your cock. Fuck me so hard I forget my own name.” Another stifled groan came from your end of the phone.
“So dirty, teasing me like this without being here. When I get you I’ll have to punish you for this. Maybe I won’t touch you at all.”
“No Matt, please.” Oh god, he loved how you sounded begging for him. “I want you to touch me all over. Play with my nipples, finger me, fuck my face, use me however you want but please just touch me.” Matt couldn’t help but pick up his dick again, feeling it twitch in his hand with longing. He wished it was you clenched around his dick instead of his own hand.
“Oh baby, I’m gonna cum if you talk like that.”
“Good, Matty, that’s just what I want. I want you to cum thinking of me just like I’m thinking of you. You fucking me senseless, toying with me while you’re inside just to add to the pleasure. You cumming inside of me leaving me a dripping mess.”
And that was enough, Matt was spilling into his hand again repeating your name like a prayer into the phone receiver. He could hear you echoing his name as a response and he knew you were cumming too. The sound of faint vibrations ended and all that could be heard was each of you panting into the phone. “Damn, Matt, if you could rile me up like that over the phone I can’t wait to see what you do to me in person.”
Matt smiled, wiping himself off with his t-shirt and stopping himself just short of telling you he loved you. He knew it was true but at this point, it would sound like a post-nut confession rather than the truth. There would be a time for that, anyway. “So is that you asking me on a date?” he laughed into the phone. “Hmmmm I guess,” you replied and he could hear your smile over the other end of the line. “Next time you’re in Jersey we can talk about it. Now, I hope this helped you and your insomnia.”
He blushed slightly, once again feeling sheepish but also worn out enough to finally sleep. “Oh is that what this was? You helping me sleep?”
“Well,” you said, “I was having trouble sleeping too so I figured we could both help each other out. Now you gotta get to bed since you have a plane to catch in the morning. I’ll call you tomorrow for real, and not just to jack off.”
He smiled, feeling the drowsiness wash over him. “I’ll hold you to that then. Goodnight, babe.”
“Sweet dreams, Matt.”

even statues crumble if they're made to wait
Pairing: Jake x Fem!MC
Genre: Post-Episode 10 Duskwood, Post-Episode 1 Moonvale
Words: 8,916
Summary: It's been three months since the explosion in the mine. Three months since Hannah was found. And MC's accepted that Jake is never coming back. When she gets roped into another missing person's case, it makes for the perfect distraction. Jake is dead. It's fine. That is, until she finds herself on the phone with Alan Bloomgate who says he has something to show her. But it's fine. Jake is dead.
Until he's not.
EPISODE-1 MOONVALE SPOILERS AHEAD (MAYBE)!
[ A/N: Hello! :)
I know it's been a while since I've done this, but I finished Moonvale Episode 1 and if you've seen the ending (and used its Duskwood code), you know what happened and how excited I was to receive that bit of Duskwood. So, I took it and ran with it, and out came this extremely long fic. I did not proofread this as it took me literally almost 12 hours to write so it is completely and 100% me and my love for Jake and I hope you love it.
Side note: I suck with anything related to timelines, so I made one up on my own. I know Episode 1 of Moonvale takes place over the course of a day or two, but for the purpose of this fic, it made sense to make it longer, so it's not a typo, or me losing my mind, it's just the way my brain processed this.
Enjoy! :) ]
It’s been three months since the explosion in the mine.
Three months since Richy had been killed. Three months since Hannah was rescued. Three months since I had last spoken to Thomas or Cleo or Lilly or…or Jessy. I didn’t blame her then and I don’t blame her now. Any of them, really. I didn’t share the bond they had with each other. I wasn’t from Duskwood. It didn’t matter that we’d experienced a tragedy together—and yes, perhaps them more than me, but I loved Richy too. I had lost Richy too. And Jake—
But mostly, I think they just wanted to forget. To move on. They didn’t want to remember that their friend had been capable of…of that. And I was a constant reminder of that to them. So I understood why we didn’t necessarily talk anymore.
The one person I did keep in contact with from Duskwood, oddly enough, other than the occasional update from Alan Bloomgate, was Dan. We weren’t best friends or anything, but he allowed me to check in on our friends in a way that I didn’t know how to do with anyone else. Maybe because I thought he was the least affected among them. I knew he cared about Hannah, but he wasn’t to her what Thomas or Cleo or Lilly were. And he wasn’t to Richy what Jessy had been.
I’d learned from him that Thomas and Hannah had broken up. There was no bad blood, but Thomas hadn’t quite figured out how to accept the things he’d learned about his girlfriend when she’d been gone, and Hannah hadn’t quite figured out how to re-trust someone after Richy. Even if that person was Thomas. But I’d hoped they would find their way back to each other in the end.
I thought about reaching out to Jessy every once in a while—even just as an apology for everything that had happened. I’m sorry that Hannah was found at the expense of Richy. I’m sorry that he did this to you. I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner. We should have. We should have. We should have. I miss you. But I never send it. I’m not all that sure she’d respond anyway.
Cleo and I were never all that close. She has her best friend back, so I think she’s probably as okay as she can be. Helping Hannah find a new kind of normal in a time where her childhood friend had kidnapped her in order to prove a point. I don’t know how you come back from that—I don’t know how you come back from knowing that you killed somebody at all.
I hadn’t found the courage to ask if somebody had told Hannah about Jake.
Not that I think it would matter anyway. I hadn’t heard from him since before the explosion in the mine, which was, like I said—three months ago. I waited the appropriate amount of time—twenty-five days—before I broke down and concluded that maybe he hadn’t survived. Which just piled a shit-ton of guilt onto my shoulders because it was supposed to be me in that mine. He had gone in place of me and now he was dead.
It was the only explanation that made sense. I was used to Jake disappearing for days at a time, but never as long as he had been now. And he didn’t seem like the type to tell me he loved me and then leave without a single explanation. Not unless he had to. But it had been three months and as much as I missed him, as much as my chest ached with the thought that we would never eat Chinese food out of shitty motels and have that on-the-run ending we talked about, I had accepted that he wasn’t coming back.
I wonder if he had known about Richy or if he had died still thinking Michael Hanson was the one who had kidnapped Hannah. I wonder if his last thoughts were of me. Maybe it’s selfish, but I kind of hope they were, because I’m pretty sure I’ll think about him for the rest of my life.
I wonder what it would have felt like to run my hands through his hair. To kiss him. To spend every waking moment with him and know it was because I loved him. Because I would have. Talking to Jake became about more than just finding Hannah. It became a part of my day I looked forward to more than anything else. He confided in me in a way that told me he never had with anyone, maybe not even Hannah, and I needed that from somebody. I needed somebody to trust in me the way that Jake did. I needed somebody to love me the way that Jake did.
It was strange—and maybe a little ironic—the thought that something so beautiful could come out of something so tragic.
Anyway, my point is: it’s been a long couple of months. Of thinking about my friends. Of thinking about Jake. Of wondering if I should have done things differently. I should have gone to Duskwood to help. Not even with the mine, but sooner. I could have. I could’ve gone when Jessy was attacked on the way home. I could’ve gone when the group made plans to cut out of town and hide away in the house Richy had found. Selfishly, I should have. In that moment, when they were settled around the fire and Lilly called me, I had never remembered wanting anything more. I should have grabbed Jake—metaphorically, maybe even literally—and rode it out with them to the end.
I don’t stop missing them after three months. Of wishing things could have been different. Wishing I could have done more. But exactly ninety-five days after the explosion in the mine, seventy days since I had accepted that Jake was never coming back, twenty-two days since I had last heard from anybody from Duskwood (Dan included), my phone dings with a new message.
And the cycle starts all over again.
It’s somebody named Eric, who claims he needs my help to find his friend Adam, who disappeared while he was waiting for a ride in someplace called Redlog Pines. And much like with Duskwood, I have never heard of Redlog, and the case reminds me way too much of Thomas’ first message to me, so much that it makes my chest ache, but I can’t say no because there’s somebody missing, and if I’d say no the first time, God knows where Hannah would be.
So, I say yes, and I help out where I can, and Eric decides he needs to bring about four more friends in on his little plan and I try my best to stay emotionally unattached because I remember everything that happened the last time and I can’t go through that again. I offer up information when I can and keep my words short and careful because I’m not ready to get attached to somebody else I know I might never meet.
I know how this ends.
Two days in, Ash, one of Eric’s friends, brings up my Duskwood past and the unhealed wound I’ve been trying to mend breaks open again. She asks about Richy, and about the mine, and then because I’m me and I can’t help myself, I tell her about Jake. She tells me the news never mentioned another body and I shove that thought to the back of my head because hoping for something that will never come true will kill me.
Four days into Adam’s disappearance, and the police not giving a shit—as Charlie, somebody who reminds me far too much of Richy for comfort, points out—my phone beeps with an incoming call from somebody I haven’t spoken to in a while.
“Go for [MC].” I answer my phone.
Ever since Hannah had been found in the mine and Jake had…you know, my phone had been more silent than I’d gotten used to. Until this new case. But even that—it was only a few days old and I didn’t want to go down the same path with them that I did with my friends in Duskwood. We didn’t really know each other that long, sure—even though sometimes it’d felt like it—but it felt like I’d finally been a part of something. Like, I had found these people who had chosen me for me.
And originally, maybe they had. Maybe they’d had every intention of keeping me around, but then Richy was the Man Without A Face and Alan Bloomgate had rescued Hannah and nothing was the same as it had been when we’d met each other. We knew too many secrets about each other by the time the town settled. Secrets we would have to take to the grave.
Or maybe I’m losing my mind a bit and I had really only been a means to an end.
Either way.
“Alan?” I raise my voice when there’s nothing but breathing on the other end of the line. “Did you mean to call me?”
His tone is clipped. “I found something.”
“You found something.” I repeat.
My heart clenches. For all I know, it might fall into my stomach. As far I know, from watching the news, from what Ash told me, Jake’s body was never found. Richy’s was. Or what was left of him to find, anyway. I had assumed that there just hadn’t been enough of Jake left. The thought left me nauseous, but it was better than hoping for something I knew I could never have.
“I’m sending it to your phone now.” He responds. “Let me know what you think of this.”
And then he hangs up.
That was a riveting conversation, I think as my phone dings with a message. I do my best to ignore my other messages—contacts from Duskwood I’m still not ready to acknowledge—and click Alan Bloomgate. He sent me a video that looks like—oh God.
Immediately, I’m overcome with emotion as an all-too-familiar forest pops up on my phone. It’s a video of Alan’s bodycam footage. He’s searching the Duskwood forest. A forest I’ve seen too many times in the background of other video calls.
I watch as he stumbles upon an object that’s too dark to make out at first. When he gets closer, it’s clear that it’s a backpack. It’s simple. Black. Nothing about it that screams this is mine and I left it here about anybody in particular. You stupid, stupid idiot, I tell my heart when it rattles against my chest in hope. He’s dead.
Alan stands and treks away from the backpack—I want to scream at him to go back, to open it and look through it and tell me if it’s what my heart aches to believe, but I can’t, because this is a video and I’m simply watching with wide eyes, waiting for…for something. But then. But then, he moves further into the forest and I watch as he stumbles upon an object that makes my knees tremble and tears rush to my eyes and my hands shake. A black hoodie. It looks like it’s been through hell, with holes scattered up the sleeves and dirt cakes into the hood, but it’s unmistakably his.
And then—Alan lifts the hood and picks up something that makes me sink to my knees with a sob that wracks my entire frame. Because I’m staring at Jake’s mask. The mask he doesn’t go anywhere without. The mask that protects him. And so my relief is short-lived, because I realize that even if he’s alive—which seems like a very big possibility at this point—he’s alive without the things that he needs to survive.
And then the anger kicks in. Because if he’s been alive, on his own, for three months—why has he not contacted me? Unless he survived the mine but he didn’t survive the after. But that didn’t make any sense. So, okay, he wasn’t dead. But that didn’t make any sense either. He told me he wouldn’t let them catch him. Because catching that meant he would be apart from me. Did something happen that prevented him from being able to reach out and tell me he was at least okay? A quick text that said didn’t die in the explosion in the mine, you don’t need to mourn me, by the way, going off radar for another year. Did he think I would have given up on him?
I wipe my eyes and shoot a message to Alan.
ME: Recently?? Did nobody search the forests before?
ALAN: Searched the forests for what, [MC]? The logical assumption seemed to be that if anybody was inside the mine when Richy set the fire, they would have perished alongside him. Officers were stationed outside every known entrance and exit. Besides, after the story you and your friends spun around this town, do you think anybody would have gone back into its forests?
ME: But it’s possible?
ALAN: I would say these items had been there for some time. But I would say it is likely he ditched them when he fled the mine, yes.
Another sob tears through my throat. Jake is alive. I don’t know quite what that means for us as of now, but I know it’s the best news I’ve heard since Hannah was found. Jake is alive. He’s out there somewhere. And even if it’s been three months, and even if I’m a little bit mad at him right now, I know that if he was here, I would throw my arms around his neck and hold on to him until someone dragged me off, and even then—I would fight kicking and screaming.
I close out of my messages with Alan and pull up a conversation I haven’t had the heart to look at in quite some time.
ME: Jake’s alive.
LILLY: …
LILLY: Have you spoken to him?
ME: Alan called. He found some of Jake’s things in Duskwood. I don’t know a lot of details. But I know he made it out of the mine.
Lilly types for a long while, but she doesn’t respond. I don’t take it personally. I think it’s probably hard for her to be happy that her brother’s okay while also trying to accept that her sister may never be okay again. Her sister, who had once-upon-a-time been kind-of-sort-of in love with their brother she didn’t know she had. I think that would probably mess with any family’s heads. And on top of all that, you throw in manslaughter and a kidnapping. I wouldn’t wish anybody, not even my worst enemy, to have had to go through what the Donforts had.
When it becomes adamant that Lilly isn’t going to respond, I start scrolling through messages with the rest of the group in Duskwood. I click on Jessy. I’m here if you need me. That had been the last thing I sent to her, a couple of days after Richy’s death. She hadn’t responded. I click out of Jessy’s contact and click on Thomas’ instead. Thank you for everything. That had been his last message to me after we found Hannah. I’d liked it. I hadn’t expected at the time it would be the last thing we’d ever say to each other. I click out of Thomas’ and click on Richy. So, you want to turn yourself in? I’d asked. That was before he called me. Before he lit a match and burned himself and the mine to the ground. Some people would call that heroic. I mostly call him a coward.
I click on Jake’s name. It’s been a while since I read messages between the two of us. Maybe before I had accepted—thought—he was dead. In that twenty-five-day period when I’d hoped with all I’d had that he would come back. I love you. That was the last message he sent me. I’d responded with I love you too, Jake. Then, four days later: Are you okay? A week later: Jake, please, you’re starting to scare me. I know you said you would contact when you could, but it’s been a week. After twenty-five days, when I had finally accepted our fate, I’d sent one final message: I hope you know that I love you, and I will always care about you, but I think it’s time for me to move on. I’m so sorry that I sent you into the mine. It should have been me. And I will probably feel the guilt from that for the rest of my life. Thank you for everything. Take care of yourself, wherever you are.
After that, I had closed out of our messages and hadn’t looked back. Partly because I couldn’t bear the pain of it. It felt like I had given up on him. I hadn’t—if I had thought for a second that he was alive, if I knew then what I know now, I would have never sent that message. But holding out hope for somebody who I thought was a ghost at the time? That was slowly killing me.
It’s only then that I notice the screen flickering. Much like the way it used to whenever Jake would hack into my phone. I don’t think he’s much in the mood to be hacking right now, but somehow, I know it’s him. When had he done this? Recently? If I had opened our messages, would I have seen this ten—twenty—even fifty days ago? It hadn’t looked like this the last time I texted him. Did he see my last message about needing to move on? Was that why he hadn’t reached out to tell me that he was okay? Because he thought I was moving on happily without him?
No, my brain supplies. He wouldn’t. He would reach out anyway, because he knows how much the thought of him not being okay would have destroyed you.
The screen flickers once more and then a message pops up, bright and blue-tinted and clear as day on my phone.
[MC]
I WILL FIND YOU
And the world around me shifts.
--------------------------------------------------
Maybe it sounds crazy, considering I’ve never seen his face before, but I always thought that if I’d ran into Jake one day, maybe on the street or at one of those motels he stayed at or maybe even in Duskwood, surrounded by all our friends, I would know it was him. I would, because it’s him, and it’s me, and we’re the only two people who understand each other quite the way we do.
I still believe that.
I believe it when I book my flight to Duskwood (or rather, twenty miles outside of town, which is the closest airport). I believe it when I board the airplane and find a seat next to a mother with her screaming child and when I shoot off a quick text to Eric to let him know I’ll be MIA for the next few hours, but to message me if he needs anything—and I think about how much easier this case would probably be to solve if we had Jake.
Maybe it would have been harder to find Hannah without me, but I know damn well they would’ve never found her without Jake.
Dan picks me up from the airport. I haven’t told the others yet. Something about it felt off—like I shouldn’t message them and say hey, I know we haven’t spoken in a while, but I’m booking a flight to look into why my maybe-slash-not-really boyfriend left his belongings in a forest we really wish we could forget about, and by the way, can I crash at your place?
It’s quiet on the car ride back into town. I’m looking through my messages from Eric and the group from Redlog Pines and thinking about how I’m Duskwood with this group and I want so badly to laugh because it’s ironic, but Dan wouldn’t understand. He might just call me crazy. Better yet, he would ask how I manage to get myself into these situations, and really, I don’t have an answer for him.
“How have you been?” I ask, just to break the tension, as Charlie, in my messages, tries to persuade his friends to head back into that creepy cave in the middle of the forest. He’s going to get someone killed, I think.
Dan looks over at me. “Are you still with Hackerman?”
My chest squeezes. “His name is Jake, Dan. And we were never really together.”
“Hm.” He nods like he doesn’t quite believe me. “You already know mostly everything that’s been happening here. Thomas and Hannah called it quits. They say it was some mutual decision, but it’s hard to find them in the same room together. Jessy hasn’t been out with us since. I think we remind her too much of Richy. The group’s all changed.”
“And you?” I ask.
He gives me a cheshire-like grin that doesn’t quite meet his eyes. “I’m always the same.”
We make it to Duskwood just as the sun’s going down. Much too late for me to try and trek through the forest and retrace the steps Jake might have taken that night. Not that I think it would help give me any clues as to where he might have gone, but mostly because I wonder if it will make me feel closer to him. We’ve never been in the same place before, and even if he’s not there now—he once was.
“Can you drop me at the police station?”
Dan blinks. “The police station.”
I nod. “Yeah.”
“We answered their questions for weeks, [MC]. I don’t think anything you have to tell them at this point is going to help. The investigation’s closed. Everybody knows Richy did it. He died with the fire in the mine. Everybody’s trying to move on from that.” He works his jaw. “Did you come here to open old wounds after all this time?”
I try not to show the hurt look on my face. “This isn’t about Richy. Look, Alan called me. He asked if I could look at some things. I figured it was better for me to do it in person. That’s it. Nothing to do with Richy. Nothing to do with Jessy. Nothing to do with you.”
He sighs, and I’m not entirely sure he’s going to abide by my wishes until we pull in front of a tiny building—tinier than most—that says Duskwood Police on the sign. Duskwood must not have that much crime. Well, not until this, I suppose.
“Thank you.” I tell him as I reach over to undo my seatbelt and climb out of the car. “This is a nice ride, by the way.”
He raises a hand in some mock-salute. “Need me to pick you up?”
“Nah.” I shake my head. “Think I’ll explore the town for a little bit.”
“Suit yourself.” He shrugs and then he’s off.
I square my shoulders and take a deep breath before opening the door to the police station. It wasn’t like Alan asked me to come down here. He hadn’t. Even during the investigation into Richy’s death and Hannah’s kidnapping, when he questioned us, he never asked me to come to Duskwood. We’d done way too many video calls and phone calls and at one point, I had asked if he thought it would be easier for me to come to Duskwood, to which he responded back, are you ready for that?
No, I hadn’t been. I’m not even so sure I was now. But knowing that Jake was alive, that here was the last place was, I had to try.
“Can I help you?” The woman at the front desk asks.
I clear my throat. “I was wondering if I could speak to Alan Bloomgate. I’m one of—I was involved in the Hannah Donfort case. My name is [MC].”
Her eyes widen. “Give me a moment.” She stands and heads to some back office—which looks to me more like a closet—and then returns with a clipped smile. “He’ll be right out.”
Apparently, she isn’t lying, because not two minutes later, Alan is stepping out from the same door and staring me down. I hold his gaze and hope it says that I’m not here to argue. I will tell him my truth, but only my truth, not Hannah’s, not Jake’s, not anybody else’s.
“I was wondering when I would see you.” He says.
I shrug one shoulder. “Isn’t a few months later better than never?”
“Let’s go into my office.” He says, and leads me around the desk and back into the closet space he had come out of. He sits behind the desk and motions for me to take a seat opposite him. “I’m just going to guess you’re not here to talk about Miss Donfort.”
“I want to see them.” I tell him. “His things. I want to see them for myself. And whatever you want from me in return, I’ll give to you.”
“You’re playing a dangerous game here, [MC].”
“He isn’t a game to me.” I snap back and then sit back and try to relax. “I appreciate that you called me. It’s—I helped you find Hannah. I would do it again. Even with knowing the things that we do now, I would do it all again. That’s how much that group means to me. That’s how much he means to me. I’m not asking you to break any rules or to lie for him or to—to let him hide in your basement for the next five years. I’m just asking you to show me what you found.”
He stares me down for a moment. Then, he sighs, says “wait here for a minute” and disappears to another room. When he comes back, it’s with an evidence bag in his hand filled with the objects I saw on his bodycam footage. My breath hitches in my throat.
“I can’t let you touch them.” He says as he lays them in front of me.
I stare into the eyes of the mask. “Did you tell anybody that he’s alive?”
“I don’t know that he’s alive,” is all the answer he gives, which is an answer to my question. I slide my gaze down to the black hoodie, to the dirtied sleeves and muddy hood, and think about the fact that Jake wore this. I’m so close to him.
And yet I’ve never been further away from him.
“Thank you.” I tell him. “For—for this. And for listening to me about Hannah. If you hadn’t, I—I don’t know what would have happened. How much longer he would have gone on for. If he would have ever stopped.”
Alan’s silent for a minute. Then, he clears his throat. “You know, it was strange to me. Both Hannah and yourself swore to me that neither of you knew the other.”
“I don’t.” I swear.
It was one of the (albeit many) things that didn’t make sense to me. How Hannah got a hold of my number. How she sent it to Thomas. She’d told Alan she hadn’t really remembered texting him my number at all.
“I believe you.” He reassures. “I just think it’s strange. One mistake, if you can call it that, and you throw yourself into a missing persons case to help a stranger.”
“They’re not strangers.” Even though Hannah is kind of still a stranger.
“But they were.” Alan reasons. “You had no reason to say yes to helping Thomas. I doubt anybody would have held it against you if you turned the other way. But you decided to follow this until the end. To make sure they found Hannah. And you care about them. Maybe that’s why I find that I’m more lenient with you than maybe I should be. Why you’re sitting across from me right now calling the shots. Why I’m not asking you about the hacker.”
“I wouldn’t tell you if you did.” I look him in the eye so he knows I’m telling the truth.
He returns my gaze. “Maybe that’s the other reason.”
“Hm.” I acknowledge before I turn my gaze away—from him, from the objects that I know belong to Jake and it takes everything in me not to snatch them up and run. “Well. Thank you for allowing me to steal some of your time. For letting me—” I cut myself off before I say something that makes me break down in a fit of tears in front of him. “—just thank you.”
Leaving the station is easier than coming in. I’m still not any closer to knowing where Jake is than I was when I arrived here, but there’s a comfort in knowing he walked these streets. I wonder what he would think if he knew I was here. He hadn’t wanted me to come to Duskwood when everything was happening…but now that it was over, would he be happy that I was here? That I had come to Duskwood to piece together where he might have gone? Would he track my location and come to find me and…or was I grasping at straws?
It felt like I had just gotten him back. Not really, not entirely…but knowing that he was alive, that he was out there somewhere, maybe thinking of me and looking for ways to come back, to live the life we talked about when he asked me if I was sure…that was worth it. The thought that we could maybe someday have that—even if it was a twenty percent chance.
I check my phone again to see a new message from Ash. She’s asking me if I’ve heard from Charlie in the last few hours. Apparently, he’s AWOL, and I want to help, really, but…it doesn’t really feel like that’s where I am at the moment. Not just physically—obviously—but mentally. We got lucky with Hannah. And that was really only because we had Jake. Adam didn’t have a Jake. Or…maybe he did and I just hadn’t met him yet. But I already had a Jake and I didn’t want another one.
Maybe—if I found him, I could convince him to help. That was a big maybe. Not because I thought Jake would say no. He would say yes to anything I asked of him. The maybe was whether or not I could find him. More likely, the maybe was whether or not he would find me.
Three months ago, I would have been able to come to Duskwood and have no shortage of things I wanted to do and people I wanted to see. Now, as I stand outside Duskwood’s police station, I feel nothing but loneliness. Nobody knows I’m here. I could pass Thomas on the street and he wouldn’t even know it. I could run into Jessy at the library and she would walk by me without even a second thought. Why would they? I hadn’t told them I was here.
So, with nothing left to do, I walked. Toward the town center. Toward the library that Jessy showed me on our walk through Duskwood. Toward the Rainbow Café where I knew that Cleo and Hannah had spent a lot of their time. Toward the Black Swan. Toward—
Ah, what the hell.
I had nothing better to do and The Aurora seemed like a great place to drown my sorrows. To think about my next steps. To figure out—now that I was in Duskwood—what I planned to do. The thing about Jake being so secretive (and on the run) was that I couldn’t retrace his steps. I wasn’t able to ask if anyone had seen him. One, because he would make sure nobody had. And two, because three months was a long time to forget somebody’s face if you didn’t know who you were looking for.
I pull open the door to the bar and step inside. Immediately, I’m hit with the stench of whiskey and a handful of chatter. Duskwood’s a small town. And The Aurora definitely proves it. The bartenders move melodically around each other, serving patrons on the other side of the bar. If you walk down further, there’s a handful of tables.
And dead in the center is a table with my friends. Or, some of them. Dan and Cleo and Lilly. Could I still call them my friends? Ex-friends, maybe? Acquaintances? I didn’t know what they were. Or how to address them. It wasn’t like we had gotten into a fight. We didn’t stop talking for any reason other than that we did. We stopped talking.
I make a beeline for the bar to avoid a confrontation and plant myself on one of the stools. One of the bartenders—a girl cute with bleach blonde hair and brown Bambi eyes—asks what I want and I channel my inner Dan to order a whiskey—neat.
Looking over my shoulder, I focus on the table of them. On Lilly, who’s smiling at something Cleo said. On Dan, who’s the only one of them who actually knows I’m here. But even he’s focused on the conversation they’re having. It’s strange—to see Dan a part of something I’m not sure he would have been before. It’s nice.
“[MC]?”
I turn my head away from the table of my friends and focus my attention across the bar on someone I should’ve expected to see. “Phil.”
“I thought I recognized your voice from when we talked.” He smiles. “I wasn’t sure, but I saw you staring longingly at them—” He nods towards Dan and Cleo and Lilly. “—and I knew. What brings you around here? I expected you to show up maybe a few months ago, but by now, I thought you’d moved on without us.”
I was tired of the words move on. Like I’d had a choice. Like the people from this town might open their arms and welcome me back into their lives. So I’d been part of the group who’d saved Hannah Donfort. So had a lot of people. It didn’t make me special and everyone here knew it.
I offer him a smile in return. “I’m looking for somebody.”
“Anybody I know?” He asks.
I shake my head. “Nah. At least nobody you would recognize.” I pause. “How’s Jessy?”
“She’s—Jessy.” He answers, like that is an answer. “I don’t know if she’ll ever really be okay with the way things happened with Richy. I wouldn’t expect her to. Obviously. But I don’t know. I think I just thought she would have gone back to her normal life by now. And then I remember that most of her life revolved around him. He was her best friend. She worked for him. And I’m trying to be patient about that. But—” He shakes his head. “Maybe you should talk to her.”
“She doesn’t know I’m in town.”
“Okay.” He hums. “So, you’re not in town for my sister. And you’re not in town for your group of friends because they’re over there and you look like you’d rather be anywhere else. There’s always Hannah, but I don’t think you knew her that well. Or at all. Would I be right to assume this is about a certain hacker who helped to find Hannah?”
“He didn’t help find Hannah.” I defend. “He was the entire reason we found Hannah. I would have never been able to do it on my own. Even with the others’ help. He’s the only reason we found out about—” I pause before I say something I maybe shouldn’t. “It doesn’t matter. He’s the only reason we found her. Everything I did was just dumb luck.”
“That wasn’t what the news said.” A voice cuts in and I turn my attention from Phil to focus on the stranger that slides into the seat beside me. Not too close—a couple inches away. I don’t recognize him. I don’t know him. But I don’t know every person in Duskwood. Maybe a total of like nine or ten. “I’m sorry to interrupt. But I heard you had a lot to do with finding Hannah Donfort. The news said you were some kind of hero.”
I offer him a tight smile. “That’s nice of them. But…if they knew my—friend—knew what he did to find her, I don’t think I would be as much of a hero as everybody says.”
“That’s noble.” He says, eyes meeting mine, and it strikes me at once how handsome he is. He has dark hair. Bright green eyes. Focus, [MC]. I scold. You have a…a someone.
My phone buzzes.
ERIC SENT A PHOTO.
ERIC: What do you make of this?
I sigh and click on the photo. It’s of—some object. Much like the one that was addressed to me on the envelope in Adam’s glove compartment. The image is a bit different—but I don’t know enough about what it means to have an answer as to why.
ME: Was this one addressed to me?
ERIC: Nope. Ash.
“Are you okay?” Phil asks.
I clear my throat. “I’m a popular person—apparently.” A thought strikes. “Have you ever heard of a place called Redlog Pines?”
Phil frowns. “No.”
I turn to look at the stranger. “You?”
“Redlog Pines is a small town about two hundred miles north of Duskwood.” He answers. “Known for their wooded forests, much like Duskwood.”
“Why are you looking into a place with forests as creepy as ours?” Phil asks, incredulously. “Didn’t you get enough of that with Hannah’s case?”
“Yeah.” I sigh. “You would think.”
“Hey, [MC]!”
I wince at the sound of Dan’s voice. Shooting Phil a look that screams please help me to which he shakes his head amusedly, I turn and plaster on a fake smile as I take in the shocked looks on Cleo and Lilly’s faces. I should have known better than to come to The Aurora and talk to Phil when the three of them were having a conversation across the room. I should have known they would sooner or later see me. I just hoped it was later.
“Hey.” I hop off my stool and make my way across the bar to them. “It’s, uh, fancy seeing the three of you here.”
“What are you doing here?” Cleo asks.
“I haven’t really figured that out.” My eyes meet Lilly’s. “It sounds crazy to say it out loud. But I was hoping that—I’m not sure if Lilly told you—”
“That Jake’s alive.” Cleo nods. “None of us ever really thought he wasn’t.”
I don’t think she means it as a dig—but it still feels like one. Like she’s saying you gave up on him you gave up on him you gave up on him even though she’s not and she didn’t really know him and the only person I can talk to at this table who even might understand is Lilly and even—Jake didn’t confide in her the way he did me.
“Right.” I acknowledge. “So I thought that maybe if I came here, I could trace his steps from when he was here and—I haven’t really thought that far ahead. It’s not like I thought he left me any clues in the forest or anything like that. I don’t think he expected me to be here. He hadn’t wanted me to be the last time we talked. But that was before everything happened.”
Lilly’s eyes track behind me. “Does Jake still have Nymos on your phone?”
“Uh.” I furrow my brows. “I think so. I hadn’t heard from him in a while, but I went back and read through our messages after I talked to Alan and…my phone glitched, like it used to when Jake had hacked it. And then this message appeared on my screen.”
“And by chance, can Nymos track your location?”
“What—” I shake my head. “Maybe. I don’t think I ever really asked him. It didn’t seem necessary at the time.”
“Uh huh.” She focuses on me once more. “Let’s say, for one minute, that Jake has access to Nymos who has access to your location.”
Cleo must catch onto something I’m not sure of. “Jake didn’t want you here.”
“Uh, thank you?”
“You know that’s not what I mean.” She waves me off. “He didn’t want you in Duskwood. He had been adamant about that when we were talking about the mine. That’s why he went. If you showed up in Duskwood—”
“Nymos would have alerted him.” Dan finishes.
“Okay…” I’m not entirely sure I’m on the same page as them. “So—you think that Jake found out when I came to Duskwood.”
“Correct.” Lilly beams like she just solved life’s greatest mystery.
“And you think he would—come find me?”
She smiles sympathetically at me—like I’m the world’s biggest idiot for not realizing what she has been trying to say sooner. “I think he already has.”
“You think Jake’s in Duskwood.” I deadpan.
“[MC].” Cleo grabs my shoulders and turns me around. “We think he’s in this bar.”
Stranger, as I had nicknamed him—AKA the guy sitting beside me at the bar, with Phil and Redlog Pines (which he probably only knew about because of me) and the whole Hannah being kidnapped and not taking any of the credit thing—was looking back at me. So was Phil. Like they thought I was the crazy one. Like it would’ve been so hard for him to look and me and say it’s me or anything that might have clued me into the fact that—
“Jake?” I whisper, because I’ve lost quite a bit of sleep over the past couple of months and I’m not one hundred percent sure what—or who—I’m seeing is real. “Are you here?”
He tilts his head and smiles at me. Actually smiles. A bit shyly, like it’s something he’s not used to doing, but maybe like it’s something he could get used to. And I think about how terrible I probably look right now because I’m not wearing makeup and my hair is tousled from constantly pulling at it and my clothes are wrinkled from the plane and the police station and I look like a mess. But our relationship has never been about looks. Clearly. I didn’t even know the person I’d been talking to until Lilly and Cleo and even Dan pointed out the obvious.
“If I—” I close my eyes and open them again. Nope. Still there. “I need you to still be there by the time I reach you because it’s been a—” I sniffle. “—it’s been a rough few months and I don’t think I could handle you disappearing again.”
He stands from the stool he was sitting on and shuffles his feet. Like he’s not quite sure where he’s supposed to stand. If he thinks about moving, I’ll tackle him onto the floor of The Aurora and then apologize to Phil later. It feels like everything I wanted is right here in front of me. And I’m scared to death that it’s not real.
“What’s one thing you would take with you if you were stranded on an island?”
His smile stretches. “My computer.”
And that—that’s what breaks me. I think I might start blubbering like an idiot but I don’t remember the time it takes for me to cross the measly twenty feet between us. All I remember is grabbing his black hoodie—because of course—and dragging him to me. I don’t kiss him, despite how much I want to, because I don’t want our first kiss to be tainted with my snot and tears. Instead, I bury my face in his collarbone and wrap my arms around his neck and hold on for dear life.
Because I can. Because he isn’t dead.
“Y—You’re here.” I pull back and cup his face with my hands. “How are you here?”
“You came to Duskwood.” He responds, and then—hesitantly—he presses his lips to my forehead in a kiss. “Alan called you.”
“He found your things in the forest.” I whisper back. “He said they’d been there a while. The police hadn’t searched the forest because they assume you died in the mine.”
“They aren’t looking for me here.” He confirms. “I didn’t expect it to take so long for them to find my belongings, but I anticipated that you would find out. At the time, it wasn’t safe for me to reach out and contact you. They kept on my trail for a while before they assumed I died in the mine with Richy.”
“Why didn’t you contact me then?” I ask. “Is it because of what I last messaged you? I didn’t mean it—I swear, I thought you were dead. If I had known you were alive, I would have waited, however long it took. I wasn’t trying to give up on you.”
“Hey.” He places both hands on either side of my face. “I know. I know that, [MC]. That was never why I didn’t reach out to you. I know you said you wanted this life with me. But I didn’t want that for you. But I was selfish. I couldn’t let you go. So I was trying to find a way to make both of those things true. But I was always coming back to you.”
“And did you?”
“Come back to you?” He asks.
I sniffle. “Find a way to make both of those things true.”
“Not entirely.” He admits. “Nymos alerted me you had boarded a plane headed in the direction of Duskwood and I—” He shook his head. “I knew I would find you here.”
“You could have found me sooner.”
He lets go of my face and he feels like he takes my skin with him. “It wasn’t that easy.”
“It could have been.” I demand.
I’m angry again. Now that I know he’s alive and okay and that he could have found me, I’m angry that he didn’t. I told him I would choose that life with him. Over and over and over. He didn’t need to make the decision for me. He didn’t need to try and protect me. And yes, maybe the fact that he did makes my heart flutter a tiny little bit, but that’s besides the point.
“I told you before you left me.” I tell him and I’m aware it sounds like we’ve been in a relationship for five years and I’m aware that everybody in here is watching and listening in on our conversation and they probably all know we’re who we are, two people involved in helping to find the kidnapped Hannah Donfort, and maybe that’s all we’ll ever be in this town. But I would rather be the girl who found Hannah Donfort in Duskwood with him than be me anywhere else. “You told me you would let me go with you.”
“That was before I told you I loved you.”
My heart skips a beat. It screams I love you I love you I love you back, but I say— “What does that have to do with anything?”
He looks somewhat amused. Like he knows I would never hold it against him. It’s clear to both of us that I wouldn’t because even though I’m glaring up at him with my furrowed eyebrows and my lips pouted, I’m still pressed tightly against him. His hands—even though they’ve moved from my face—are now resting on my hips. Pulling my tighter to him. There’s no space in between us. If it was up to me, I’m pretty sure there never would be again.
“[MC].” He says, and oh god I wish he would say my name every day for the rest of his life. “Have I—in the short time we have known each other—ever struck you as the type of person who says I love you? But with you…” His words are a whisper against my lips. “It’s easy to fall back into old emotions with you.”
“I want to be angry with you.” I tell him.
He shakes his head. “No, you don’t.”
“No, I don’t.” I agree. “But I might be if you don’t kiss me.”
He brought one finger underneath my chin and tilted it up until our lips were separated by a fraction of an inch. My eyelids fluttered. I didn’t care that everyone in here was about to see just how much Jake meant to be. I didn’t care because I had waited too long for this. And then—just as I’m leaning toward him to press our lips together, he whispers— “[MC]?”
“Hm.” I acknowledge.
“Who’s Eric?”
My eyelids crack open and I shove at his chest. “That’s what you’re worried about right now? Here I am, in front of you, covered in snot and tears and who-knows-what-else because you’re here right now, and you’re worried about some guy I don’t even know?”
“Who’s Eric?” He repeats.
“Ugh.” I run my hands through my hair and take a step back. “I don’t know. He’s the other side of Thomas or whatever you want to call him. If we lived in a different town.” I glare back at him and try not to admit that I think his jealous side is a little cute. “He messaged me. Thought I picked up his friend from some parking lot and I didn’t, but his friend sent him my number, and it was Hannah all over again. I’m trying to help them.”
“This Adam has been sending you a lot of videos.”
“You know I hate when you hack my phone.” I complain, even though I really don’t. Even though I had prayed for him to help me with this case. “I really don’t know Adam. Like—even less than I know Eric.
“But you know Eric.”
“For like a week.” I reassure. “He added me to this group chat with him and like three other friends of his. They’re desperate to find Adam who has apparently dropped off the face of the earth and I don’t know what to do. I had you with Hannah’s case. And you knew her. And they—” I look over my shoulder at Cleo and Dan and Lilly, who are pretending like they’re not listening in even though I know and Jake knows they are. “—they knew her. And obviously Adam’s friends must know him but I don’t and you don’t and there is no Jake in Redlog Pines.”
“I don’t trust him.” He shakes his head. “Any of them.”
I laugh. “Jake, you didn’t trust half the people in this bar when we first started talking.” I look over at Phil and then Dan. “It doesn’t mean they committed a crime. If I had backed off when you asked me to help you find Hannah, we may never have.”
“I thought that was all thanks to me.” He sounds smug, like that little smiley face he loved to annoy me with (AKA make me fall in love with him). “Did he flirt with you?”
“No.” I deadpan. “I think he was focused on his missing friend.”
“I was focused on my missing sister.” He shoots back.
I close my mouth. Alright. He has a point. But I wasn’t flirting with Eric. He was focused on finding Adam and I was focused on mourning—and then finding—Jake. Maybe it felt like Eric and I were two sides of the same coin. Maybe that’s why I agreed to help him. Because I didn’t want to happen to him what I thought had happened to Jake—to me.
“You’re being ridiculous.” I say instead. “How do you think I could ever entertain the idea of being with somebody else when for the past three months—more than that if you count the time we have actually had together—I’ve been focused on you? On discussing Hannah with you and then talking to you about anything and everything and then worrying about you and then hating you a little for convincing me you should me the one to go into the mine and then mourning you when it was hard to even think about you and then finding you?”
His eyes are wide. I think I’ve rendered him speechless. Which—serves him right. I know he’s not somebody who serves their feelings up on a silver platter. I know that. Obviously, I knew that from the first time I spoke to him. Back when he was nothing more than ??? and I was almost convinced that Dan was right and he was the Man Without A Face—a thought that I now hate with everything in me. But I need him to trust me. Jealousy streak and FBI and the missing persons cases aside, he needs to trust me.
“Trust me.” I cup the sides of his face again. “He’s nothing like you.”
He swallows. “Some people might consider that to be a perk.”
“I don’t.” I say.
And then I’m kissing him and it feels like coming home.

"demure" part 2
best friends dad! james x reader
Tumblr media

PART 1

warnings: age gap, cheating, rough sex (not too much smut in this one tho soz), jamie is kinda a dick, everyone is of age!!!
MDNI
---
It had been 3 days.
3 whole days since the night you spent with James and he hadn't spoken one word to you.
In the grand scheme of things, 3 days isn't too long. But when those 3 days are spent longing after someone who is pretending you don't exist it is.
You were frustrated in every sense of the word, and with just over a week until you go back to Hogwarts - you were becoming desperate.
Every one was floating in between the kitchen and living room. It was rare that there was ever a quiet moment at the Potter's which made it even more difficult to find James alone.
You sat with your head resting lightly on Ron's shoulder whilst him and Hermione chatted about something you couldn't even focus on, your mind a million miles away.
Surprisingly, you had barely felt any guilt towards your actions a few nights prior. Every time you felt a bit bad about what you'd done, Ron would piss you off and it all made sense again.
You had even tried to somewhat recreate the incident with Ron, actually trying it on with him every single night but he would just make fun of you or would already be asleep before you'd even had the chance to touch him.
"Y/N?" Ron pushed you off his shoulder. "I said, are you okay?"
"Yeah," you half heartedly smiled. "I'm just gonna grab some water."
"I can get it for you-"
"No, it's fine."
You stood to your feet and wandered through to the kitchen and there he stood.
James was leaning against the kitchen counter, a mirrored image of how he was stood just a few nights ago.
Your breath hitched in your throat.
A white shirt hung from his body as he had just gotten back from his job at the ministry under an hour ago. A half empty glass of red wine sat in his hand as he spoke intently to Remus.
When he noticed you enter, he stopped talking and his jaw tightened.
He had been on your mind 24/7. The way his hands felt on you, the way he spoke softly into your ear, the way he made you feel.
It was constant, you couldn't think of anything other than James.
James broke eye contact after a brief moment. He muttered something inaudible to Remus before quickly walking past you.
James' heavy footsteps echoed through the house as he almost stormed up the stairs.
Remus nodded his head at you. You couldn't tell wether he was indicating for you to follow him or if it was just a simple greeting.
You didn't care either way, you were bored of being ignored.
Turning swiftly, you padded quietly up the stairs after James.
You were unsure of what exactly you were going to say to him, but something was better than nothing.
The house was huge and you weren't exactly sure which room he had gone into.
You decided on his bedroom.
You slowly opened the big oak door before entering quietly.
He wasn't in there, but it still caught your attention.
A strange feeling overwhelmed you as you took in the detail of the room James shared with his wife.
Jealousy? Guilt? You couldn't quite put your finger on it.
Everything was perfectly clean. On one bedside table sat a picture from their wedding day and the other was a picture of Harry.
Chewing your cheek out of anxiety, you stepped closer to the one of James and Lilly's wedding.
You had always been under the impression that they were so in love, so happy. Yet James had done this.
It almost felt like you had dreamt it all.
The door to the bedroom opened, making you jump.
You turned around to see James stood there with an angry look on his face.
"What are you doing?" James grumbled, stepping forward.
"I-I don't know." You muttered, your cheeks growing red.
"You can't do this, Y/N." He demanded, almost like he was telling you off. "I- What happened between us... it can't happen again."
He was frustrated, breathing heavy with his eyebrows furrowed.
You stood there twiddling your thumbs, unsure of what to reply.
"I fucking mean it-" James began pacing back and forth. "Shit, I could get in so much trouble for this, Y/N, you don't understand."
A ball of anger was whirling up inside you uncontrollably at his words.
A little voice inside your head telling you that he used you, he regrets you, he's embarrassed of you.
"You can't just ignore me!" You spat out. "I'm not just someone you can touch like that and then pretend doesn't exist!"
"I don't have a fucking option, Y/N." He came closer to you. "What did you think was going to happen? This can't be anything."
"What did you think was going to happen, James?" You bit back, sick of him talking down to you.
He was taken aback at your words, veins almost popping out of his forehead as he looked as if he was at war with himself.
"Fuck!" He spat, turning his back to you.
You weren't scared of him, he couldn't just use you and act like it never happened.
"You need to stop fucking doing this to me, Y/N." James muttered.
"I-I'm not doing anything!" You expressed, "I just want you to-"
Before you had the chance to finish your sentence, you were pressed up against the wall with his mouth on yours.
It happened all to quickly.
He lifted you up, legs wrapped around him.
James connected his tongue with yours, hands travelling all over you.
"I can't stop fucking thinking about you, Y/N." James muttered against your lips.
You could feel his hard cock pressing into you through his trousers as he pushed himself closer to you.
"Your sweet little moans,"
He pushed your dress up to your waist, hands travelling underneath to your breasts.
"Your tight little pussy,"
You let out a gasp as his cold hands brushed over your nipples.
"You think I haven't always noticed the way you look at me?"
In a swift movement he had you pressed up against the wall, ready to take you from behind. Your dress pushed up to your waist and his trousers around his ankles.
"Not so fucking innocent around you, Y/N?"
You must be dreaming. You must have dreamt this whole thing. There was no way your fantasy was unravelling in front of you.
"Do you want this, baby?"
You nodded with no hesitation.
"Words, kitten."
"Yes, James." You groaned. "I want you."
"Good girl." He muttered as he pushed his cock into you.
You gasped, he was much bigger than you'd ever had before.
It took a second for you to adjust but soon he was thrusting into you.
James couldn't contain himself, fucking you relentlessly as you moaned his name over and over.
"Have you been thinking about this, baby?" James groaned, choking you from behind. "I bet you have."
He was like an animal with stamina you didn't know existed.
"You gonna cum for me, sweet girl?"
You couldn't muster any words in response, just a loud moan harmonising with the clapping of him pounding into you.
It wasn't long before you were riding out your high, another unexplainable feeling he'd given you for the second time.
You tightened around him, only causing him to quicken his pace.
"Fuck-" He choked out as you felt his warm cum between your legs, his thrusts slowing down.
You both stood there attempting to catch your breath.
"No matter how hard I try," James said after a short moment. "I can't get you off of my mind."
"Likewise." You muttered.
"Y/N?" You heard a voice from the hallway. It was Ron.
"Shit." You whispered. "You- You stay here."
You quickly tried to fix your hair, pulling your dress down and trying your hardest to act like you didn't have James cum dripping into your panties.
You walked out to the hallway and smiled at Ron.
"What were you doing in there?"
"Just snooping." You shrugged, grabbing his hand and quickly pulling him back downstairs.

part 3 will be up tomorrow!

Ghetsis's immediate answer to a problem is attempted murder. He tries killing the MC in BW and B2W2 (tho B2W2 is more blatant, he tells the MC they must be eliminated in BW), threatened to kill Lillie when he's defeated in Ultra, in Masters, N has to get him to back off from pursuing Giovanni further after Gio betrayed him, and he nearly killed Paulo's Rockruff. (That said, it tends to be a retaliatory action whenever he attempts to kill someone. However, he did have N's Dragon in Ultra and it's been speculated that he did plan to kill N after he fulfilled his use. His ace Hydreigon is specifically built to wipe out N's entire team.)
Lysandre actually has a body count that we know about thanks to Masters, with it being heavily implied he boiled two Rocket grunts alive using Volcanion. And then he's later shown stalking a Break grunt thru the fog in his Sync Pair story, calling the grunt a coward for fleeing in "self-preservation" when they get bad vibes and run away. Plus, his entire organization is a genocidal secret police that controls the media and actively taps people's phone-equivalents. They're definitely keeping a watch for anybody catching on. (Expresses remorse that the Pokemon won't survive tho.)
Giovanni is a mob boss out for world domination, which I don't think he could do without some degree of blood getting shed, so that's why he's counted here. Definitely feels like he would kill you if it were deemed "better for business" if you weren't around, but probably wouldn't go out of his way to really harm civilians all that much otherwise.
Volo feels the least likely to me in terms of killing before, but I feel he would be best at luring people in with his false friendly demeanor. Everyone's a tool to him that will be discarded once he resets existence and recreates the world, the player experienced that firsthand.

I could die for your writings, babe🩷This is Rafe turning around when he hears footsteps behind him; he already knows it's you even though you're supposed to be asleep, but the sight of your sleepy figure, fist clenched on your lovey as tears roll down your cheeks, doesn't worry him that much. He simply sighs before crouching down in front of you, stroking your cheek in a soothing way. 'Hey, what's happened, huh? Thought you were sleeping.' You shrug your shoulders and tell him you had another nightmare :( and he lets you fall asleep on him to make sure you are safe
This just screams brother!rafe :'( LOVE YOU BUN 🫶🏻
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rafe is standing by his closet, in the middle of getting ready for a party when the familiar sounds of sniffles reach his ears, turning around while buttoning up his shirt.
There you stand, one hand still on the door handle with your bunny lovey tucked under chin and tears streaming down your rather chubby cheeks. "Rafey..."
With a sigh he walks over to you, crouching down to be at eye level with you. "What's wrong, hm? Thought you were sleeping."
"B-Bad dream..." You whimper, leaning into Rafe's touch as he reaches up to cup your face with his hand, gently wiping your tears away.
He hums, his hands going under your armpits before he stands back up to cradle you against his chest, one arm under your bottom to support your weight while rubbing your back with his free hand. "Don't worry, your brother's got you."
Your crying slowly subsided thanks to Rafe bouncing you a little while pacing his room, murmuring sweet nothings to you, ignoring the repeating buzzing of his phone in his pocket knowing it's probably Topper asking where the hell he's at.
You nuzzle your face in his neck, your fingers fidgeting with one of the buttons on his shirt. Rafe moves over to sit on the edge of his bed, patting your back. "Better now?"
You shake your head even though you do feel calmer again, knowing that if you said yes he would send you back to your room and you just don't want this moment to end, feeling comfortable in your brother's presence.
Rafe ever being the observant one smirks to himself at your reluctance to pull away from him, wrapping his arms a little firmer around you.
He lets his upper body fall against the mattress with you on top of him, not missing the way you let out a quiet giggle.
"Then I guess we have to stay like this forever." He shrugs, feeling you nod in agreement.
"Foreva..." You yawn, your eyes fluttering shut again, feeling safe in his embrace.
After a few minutes Rafe can feel your body relaxing as your grip on him loosens, chuckling when he hears your soft snores, lifting his head a little to press a kiss to the top of your head. "Sweet dreams, kid..."

Favorite Student (Teacher!Sanemi X SeniorStudent!Reader)
I've written sloppy smut, but this is the worst one yet.
I haven't written in while. I'll go back and re-read it later to double check perspectives since I've had a bad habbit of mixing them.
Mature & General Content Warning: StudentXTeacher, fingering, squirting, Kaigaku being a bully and a bit of an ooc Sanemi at times
“It has to be here somewhere,” (Y/N) said as she dug through the trash can, looking for her lost item.
“(Y/N)?” A familiar, stern voice was heard from behind her. She turned around to see the math teacher, Sanemi Shinzugawa looking at her with his arms folded. “What on earth are you doing here after hours?”
“Huh?” (Y/N) said, turning around after stepping away from looking in a trash can. She was probably Sanemi’s best student, the only one who listened in math. Just maybe she was his favorite, “Oh, Mr. Shinazugawa.” It was odd she was at school after hours, she was a good senior student who wouldn’t be getting into trouble.
In the teacher's mind, she was not the type of student to do something mischievous or foolish, so he assumed she had a pretty valid reason for being at school. "Why are you here?" He repeated his question, his arms still crossed.
“Someone stole my diary, and I was trying to find it.” She said, looking worried as looked back in the trash can, “I thought maybe he’d have tossed it out after he probably read through it…”
His eyes widened when you informed him that someone stole your diary. He felt protective over you, since she was known as his favorite student. "Let me ask you something. Do you have any idea who stole your diary?" He asked, his tone turning more serious.
“It… It was Kaigaku.” She admitted, looking away. She had really hoped that she could take care of this issue on her own.
His eyebrows shot up, and his jaw dropped a bit. He could not believe that a fellow student would steal his favorite student's diary. But then again, it was Kaigaku.
"And why do you think it was him?" He asked, with suspicion.
“He told me he wanted me to do his history homework for him…” She said, looking very upset her diary was gone. “I guess he wanted to use it as blackmail, or hold it over my head.”
Sanemi-Shinazugawa's eyes widened with disbelief and rage as he processed what you just said. "So... this was all because you didn't let him cheat off of you.."
“Yes…” (Y/N) wasn’t the type to let someone copy her. She’d be more than willing to help and tutor, but she wouldn’t aid cheating.
"Hmm..." *He thought for a moment, tapping his chin.* "He has to have put it somewhere... I don't think he would just toss it out..." Part of him wanted to catch Kaigaku with it, just to take the annoying brat down a peg.
“He might still have it.” She said sadly, wondering just how many pages he’d probably have already read through.
"I bet he still has it." He grumbled, crossing his arms and clenching his fists a bit. He got mad whenever anyone did something mean to you, his favorite student.
“I guess I should just go home then, and to track him down tomorrow.” She said, “I should get going, it’s almost about to start raining…”
He was about to let her go, but he stopped her. "Wait, Lilli. Before you go, answer me one more question."
“Huh?” She was confused but followed him anyway to the school entrance.
Sanemi had thought as much. Your diary was probably your safe space of sorts, and he figured that you could get really honest and personal in it.
"And... is there anything specific about..." *He hesitated to ask the question that was on his mind. But still, he couldn’t help but wonder what could be in there that Kaigaku would be desperate to get his hands on.
“Boys?” She guessed the end of his sentence,* “Yes, more personal feelings written in there…”
"Hmph..." The math teacher mumbled before clearing his throat and saying with a slightly less strict tone, "Alright. Well, I guess you still should go home... it's late and the rain's almost here..."
“Yeah, I better hurry.” She said, “Thank you for understanding.” She was glad she wasn’t in trouble for trying to find her lost possession.
He only nodded and watched her walk down the hallway as his eyes followed her, making sure she made it out of the school safely in the late night. Part of him was worried about her walk home, but hopefully the short walk from school would be okay.
Lilli missed math class that next morning, something unusual and out of character for her. As the students left he could hear whispers about Lilli crying in the broken girls bathroom.
That bathroom had been broken for months, causing it to be abandoned by students. No water supply to it left it as a secret hangout or for Lilli a hiding place to cry in.
The math teacher grew suspicious and concerned when hearing the rumors that (Y/N) was crying in the abandoned girl's room. He immediately left his classroom and went straight to the girl's restroom.
"(Y-Y/N)?" Sanemi called out, the anger in his voice becoming something a bit more concerned and even, dare he not say, protective. "Is that you?"
"I'm down here..." She whimpered, making Sanemi realize she was crying on the floor, curled up under a sink.
He crouched down in front of her, his tone turning more gentle. "What's wrong, (Y/N)? I heard you crying and I-" His eyes widened and his heart nearly dropped in horror when he saw the graffiti on the wall.
Suddenly, a large piece of graffiti in the hallway caught his attention. *In huge letters it read, ‘(Y/N) Loves Mr. Shinazugawa' as if someone had found out a secret and wanted to taunt and torture her with it.
"He's painted it everywhere," she said, "It's all over campus."
The math teacher grit his teeth, it felt like steam could come out of his ears as if he was an enraged kettle.
"That stupid ass..." He snapped, but immediately turned a bit softer and looked genuinely a bit worried for your safety. "He didn't hurt you, did he?"
"No..." She whimpered, her face buried in her knees.
"(Y/N), look at me." He said in a stern, but yet reassuring tone, crouching before her and placing a hand on her shoulder.
(Y/N) shyly looked up at him, her mascara running down her face from how she had been crying.
He felt his heart sink when he saw the tears running down her face and the makeup running down with it. His entire persona softened and his strictness disappeared as if it was all just a show.
"(Y/N)... don't beat yourself up over it..." He said, using a gentle, comforting tone that he's only used for the rare moments he ever encountered little kids. "If you want, you don't have to go to your final class today... You can just go to the nurse’s office until I take care of this..."
"I... I don't want to go to the nurse..." She whimpered, "It's the last period of the day, can't I just... hide in here?"
He pondered for a bit before sighing and nodding. "Fine... But don't get yourself caught, okay?" He replied as he stood and dusted himself off, before looking down at her again. "If you need anything, my classroom is right down the hall. You can come to my classroom instead. Got it?"
"Can I just hide in there?" She asked, knowing this last class of the day was his free period.
"Hmm... Fine." He said after thinking again and holding out a hand to help her up. "But you've got to promise to keep it a secret and not let other students see you in there, okay?"
"Okay," She said, taking his hand and standing up.
When they got into her classroom she sat in her usual seat. She decided now that this would be a good time to do today's homework assignments.
The math teacher sat at his desk and continued to grade tests, keeping an eagle eye watch at the door in case a student passed by. He looked over to see Lilli starting to do her homework, and felt bad for her. He had to say something to ease her worries a bit.
"Hey, Lilli..." He said, his tone surprisingly gentle and soft as he made a motion for her to come and sit by him at his desk.
"Y-Yes Mr. Shinazugawa?" She said, a bit startled. She was still a bit embarrassed about the secret of her crush on him being out.
He looked her directly in the eyes and gave her a very gentle and warm smile that nearly turned him into almost a different person than the strict teacher student knew him as.
"It's alright, (Y/N). Ignore all the stupid and dumb things written on those walls, okay?" He said, putting a hand on her shoulder and giving her a sincere and understanding look "And no matter what your students say and do, you're still the top student in my class."
"I just..." She said, looking away shyly, "I wish things... could be a bit different..."
He raised an eyebrow, slightly confused by what she meant by that. "What do you mean? What things could be a bit different?" He inquired, placing a hand on her chin and turning her head to face him once more.
"Y-You and I..." She shyly answered. He knew what she meant, her crush was discovered by Kaigaku. He saw the spray painting on the wall.
He was surprised at how she felt about him. He was still processing the fact that Lilli was his self-proclaimed favorite student, and yet she had a crush on him. “So... you have a crush on me?" *Sanemi asked quietly, her nodding in response.
His face slightly turned pink, and he had to prevent himself from leaning back on his desk. He also had to refrain from wrapping his arms around her, and pulling her into an embrace.
"It's... not everyday that my student has a crush on me." He spoke, trying to keep his composure. "Not to mention my favorite one..."
It was true, most students were afraid of him or hated him. "I just... I don't know how it happened..."
"Well, I guess we're both surprised by this... But, that doesn't change the fact that I'm still a teacher..." He pulled his hand from her chin, but kept his eyes on her and leaned a bit close to her in a way that she had to look at him. "But... it also doesn't change the fact that I like you too... a lot… But still," He answered after a few moments of staring into her eyes. He knew as well as she did how taboo their relationship would be.
"I-I know but..." *She said, having a bit of a pleading look in her eyes as he leaned back a bit away from her and sighed.
"No buts. I'm a teacher, and you're my student. It would be inappropriate for us to date and be in a relationship while we're still at school." He said as a matter-of-fact tone, crossing his arms and trying to look even a bit stern.
"Maybe though.." She said with a pleading look, "Just... one kiss?"
The math teacher gulped, feeling a bit flustered at hearing her ask to kiss him. On one hand, kissing her was a bad idea, because they were still in school and she was a student.
"Just one?" He inquired, his stern expression slowly starting to fade.
"Yes, I won't ask for another one, I promise." She said, maybe just having a short, little fix of him could help her feel better. Maybe it'd fulfill whatever daydreams she had of him as well.
"Fine, but just one, alright?" Sanemi said as he started to feel a bit bashful about the entire situation, and yet it didn't stop him from leaning in and putting a hand on the side of (Y/N)'s cheek as he closed his eyes and puckered his lips. He seemed almost excited that he was finally going to kiss his favorite student, and even more since he'd never actually kissed someone in a long time.
She closed her eyes, puckering her lips and meeting him halfway. It truly felt like a magical moment. Something they could share together behind closed doors.
The math teacher let out a content, and almost relieved sigh as he moved his lips against hers. He gently pulled her in, his other hand wrapping around her waist as he kissed her in a deep and passionate kiss that felt like fireworks. It was more than just a little kiss. It was a kiss that had Sanemi second guessing himself.
Sanemi Shinazugawa was almost shocked that he started second guessing himself. Why did it feel so good? What about it made him want more and not just leave it at a kiss?
He kept holding (Y/N) close to himself as he kissed her a bit deeper, gently pulling her tongue into his mouth to deepen the kiss a bit more. (Y/N) opened her mouth, allowing his tongue to enter. She let out a small sound as their tongues entwined with each other.
The math teacher couldn't help but let out a low groan of pleasure and contentment as he felt (Y/N)'s tongue in his mouth. He slowly and gently lifted her up and sat her on the desk, holding her back with one hand and using the other to keep cupping her cheek. She let out a surprised sound. She looked up at him, panting as they pulled apart.
He panted quietly in surprise and shock after they pulled apart. He took a moment to examine (Y/N)’s face, making sure to not miss a single detail. He looked down at her from where she sat on the desk, and the first thing he noticed was the lustful and needy look in her eyes.
He'd never expected her to have such a look. Her skirt had hiked up from how he had placed her on the table in the heat of the moment. The math teacher gulped, watching as her skirt started to ride up, revealing her knees, and even more. “(Y-Y/N)..." *He said in an almost shocked, but lustful tone.
"Mr. Shinazugawa," She breathed out, the love and passion for her teacher visible in her eyes. He couldn't believe what was happening, he finally felt a sense of being loved and accepted and desired, something that was new for him. He gently pushed the chair he was sitting in away from the desk as he moved closer to Lilli, the look in his eyes still one that was burning with lust and longing.
"Wh-What are we doing?" She asked, wanting to know what his next intentions were. She was a smart girl, she knew what his plan was.
"I don't know... We really shouldn't be doing this, but... I think I'll be making an exception this time..." The math teacher answered, leaning into (Y/N) and gently pressing soft, needy kisses onto her neck.
He moaned lowly against one of (Y/N)'s more sensitive spots on her neck, sending shivers down her spine and causing her to feel a spark of pleasure. He started to kiss and suck on that same spot, his warm and soft touch feeling comforting as he continued to mark her neck.
"Y-You can't leave marks," She whimpered, "someone will see it..."
He was hesitant, but he let out a little sigh and pulled away from her neck. "You're right... But that doesn't mean I won't mark up other parts of you." He placed another kiss on her neck before pulling back.
He gently brushed his fingers along her thigh, gently stroking her soft and heated skin. The math teacher got a sudden mischievous look in his eyes as a mischievous idea crossed his mind.
He slowly and gently caressed one of her thighs, rubbing small circles on it with his thumb. "You know... I never realized how soft your skin is." He whispered, his other hand gently tracing some of the other parts of her body. He slowly let his hands wander to the buttons of her blouse.
He quietly unbuttoned her shirt, letting out a small gulp himself. He still couldn't believe that this was happening, and he almost felt a sense of disbelief as the heat in the room slowly rose.
"You're sure you're okay with doing this?" He asked her as he gently helped pull her shirt over her shoulders.
"Are you okay with it?" She asked, her lavender colored bra finally exposed. She knew what he said earlier, and she’d hate for him to get in trouble if someone caught or heard the two of them.
The math teacher gulped and tried his best not to stare too hard but couldn't help but stare at her breasts. "I really am," He said, gently tracing her skin with the tips of his fingers, watching goosebumps rise up. He didn’t care about what he had said earlier.
“I’m glad you have this free period,” (Y/N) confessed as she shivered at his touch, “It can be just the two of us.”
"Although, what?" The math teacher asked, looking up from her chest and into her eyes.
“I… I’m still a virgin and… I don’t know how ready I’m feeling to go all the way.” She said, “It’s complicated, I want you to feel good too but…”
He was surprised by this confession, but didn't seem disappointed or upset.  "Don’t worry, I understand, and it’s okay... Why don't we work on making sure that you feel good for right now?"
He gently caressed her inner thigh and hummed in contentment. "Does that feel good?" He inquired as she nodded, his own pants becoming a bit uncomfortable as the heat in the room continued to rise. He could tell just by the look in her eyes that she wanted him, but he wanted to hear it.
He hummed and gently ran his fingers along the elastic band of her underwear, caressing her skin. "Just how needy are you?" He asked as his fingers teased her.
“A lot… b-but only for you.” She begged as he slipped off her panties.
His heart was racing and he felt himself getting more excited as he took off her underwear. He never thought he’d be in such a situation with anyone, much less his favorite student.
"Well I'm honored..." He mumbled as he gently traced his fingers along her most intimate area.
He hummed lowly as he felt her heat and wetness, the feel of her insides on his fingers felt exciting and new to him. “That didn't take much to get you so excited, (Y/N)."
He felt her tighten around his fingered, warm velvety walls full of her neediness, “M-Mr. Shinazugawa~” The look on her face showed out much it was affecting her, it was like she was drunk just from the feelings of his fingers. Was she this sensitive of a virgin?
He was a bit shocked by how sensitive and needy she already was. "You're already so tight and needy, (Y/N)," He whispered.
“A-Ah~!” (Y/N) moaned, tensing up a bit at the sensation, “P-Please…” She whined,
He kept teasing her sensitive bud, gently rubbing in small, slow circles. "Please, what?" He murmured in a teasing tone, wanting to hear her whine and beg more.
“Please, I want more,” She whined, wanting him to go faster. She could feel herself growing wetter as his fingers were able to move more easily.
"How much more? Do you think you deserve it from me?" *He inquired, continuing to tease her with his slow circles. He was getting a bit more excited himself, and felt a bit more comfortable about the whole situation now as he continued rubbing her sensitive bud.
“A-Ah, oh no~” She said, closing her eyes tightly as she felt the coil in her gut wind tighter, knowing she was getting close. But she didn’t want to release yet, she wanted to keep going. She didn’t want this to stop, but she couldn’t already feel part of herself leaking out. “P-Please, I’m your best student.”
"Maybe you are my favorite student, you're so needy and sensitive already... I can feel you already leaking onto my fingers-" He said, moving his fingers faster and curling them ever so slightly.
“I’m gonna make a mess on the desk~” She moaned, trying to keep herself together.
He couldn't help but let out a seductive and sadistic chuckle as he listened to her needy moans. "You're going to make a mess, huh? Sounds like you need to be punished a bit..." He said as he began to move his fingers faster.
“B-But I- Ah~!” (Y/n) cried out, her eyes shut tightly as she felt her body tense. The coil finally snapped and she could feel herself release in a gush on his fingers. Her legs twitched as he continued to play with her, overstimulation taking hold.
He grinned lowly, watching her release herself in a gush on his fingers. "That's the first punishment, my favorite student." He smirked as he continued to rub her sensitive bud, wanting to overstimulate her and make her feel more sensations. The math teacher enjoyed seeing her overstimulated, seeing her needy and sensitive reactions.
“Ah~ Mmm~” She said, having mixed feelings on the overstimulation. It was painful, but so good at the same time. She wriggled and bucked her hips into his hands as she craved more of the sweet, torturous, pleasurable feeling.
“Now, be nice and a good girl or your punishment will continue…” His other hand that had been holding her leg in place came and gently gripped onto her hip, not wanting her wriggling while overstimulated. He whispered as he slowed his rubbing, wanting to give her a little break while she overstimulated.*
“I-It feels soooo good~” She said, absolutely drunk of pleasure. So much for a punishment.
“You like being punished? Maybe I’m not being harsh enough…” He teased as he began to rub his fingers harder and faster once again, keeping his grip tightly on her hip.
“A-Ahh~!” She cried out, “Mr. Shinazugawa~ More! I promise I’ll be a good student~ I always have been~”
"Oh? Always have been a good student?" He murmured. He said as he stopped to gently pull away his hand, pulling it out of her skirt. He couldn’t help but smirk as he listened to her beg and whine for more. “I guess you deserve a reward then…”
(Y/N) cried out once more as she came for a second time, making yet another mess on Sanemi’s desk. Finally, he pulled his fingers out before licking them clean. (Y/N) seemed to be in too much of a daze as she tried catching her breath.
“I think that’s enough for today,” Sanemi said, figuring she was far too tired to continue any further. But he planned to come back to this later on, and you knew it too.

Benny x Reader
A/N: first off, want to say this is my first time not only writing a Benny fic, but also writing something different to my usual stuff. So please be kind, as I am terrified to post this haha.
I have been thinking about this idea, and possible series, for over a week. So I finally bit the bullet and wrote out the first part. It's more of a set up for the reader, as I want to make this a series. As well, I left out places and such, but tried to do it in away that its not bad. Only because I'm from Australia and don't really know much with America, only what I've seen in movies and TV shows.
If it is not really liked, I will take it down. But if anyone is interested, I am happy to keep going. I have two more parts kind of planned out. But there is a few idea's I'm not 100% sure of. So if anyone want to talk Benny and these ideas, please message me.
Alright, I guess on to the story then...
Tumblr media
“Tell me about the first time you met Benny?” Danny asked moving his microphone towards you.
You were sitting on your couch, lit smoke in hand. “Honestly, the first time I saw Benny, that was something. He saw me more then I really saw him”.
“What did he say to you? Or what did you say to him?” Danny asked adjusting the recorder.
You chuckled. “We never said anything to each other, well I said something but it wasn’t to him. You see I’d just gotten back from living with my Aunt for over three years. I’d gone to live with her when I was nineteen, prior to that for the last ten years the woman had been on my dads case. She believed a man couldn’t raise a girl. My old man wouldn’t listen to her. So I grew up a tomboy, eventually he entertained her request”.
You took a drag from the cigarette between your fingers, before releasing the smoke. “I can tell you living with that woman was torture. Along with her daughter, who had just gotten engaged when I arrived. They both took to teaching what is expected of a lady, how to dress, walk and talk. The only way I survived it was when I made friends with some locals there that raced motorcycles. When my Aunt found out, she flipped out, sent me back after I wouldn’t change my ways...”
~~~
How you managed to pack up three years in two large suitcases surprised you. But here they were, back in your old room on your families farm. The room looked just as you had left it, only a tad dusty from half assed cleaning courtesy of your dad and brother. Looking around brought back memories. Your best friend pushed past you and took a seat on your bed.
“Can see the males of the house don’t know how to clean properly” she commented running her hand over your bedding.
“Unfortunately not. If they did, along with being able to cook, then women would not be required” you laughed lifting and bringing a suitcase over, before dropping it on the bed.
“Agreed" she laughed with you.
You began to unpack the suitcase, which had mostly shoes, tops, bottoms, personal items. Once that one was done you removed it from its place before replacing it with the second suitcase. This one had a few more tops and bottoms, but mostly your dresses.
“Lilly, do you mind getting the dresses out and I will hang them up?” You asked her as you put away the last of your tops and bottoms.
“Sure” was her response before taking out the first dress and handing it out to you.
You thanked her while taking the garment from her hands, putting it on a hanger and then placing it in your closet. While doing this together Lilly filled you in on the town gossip, along with that of people you had gone to school with.
“You remember Anne, right?” – You nodded your head – “she has turned into a real Miss Prim and Proper! No doubt it’s her mummy’s doing, dolling up her daughter in hopes for her to catch a big fish!”
You laughed. “Really? You believe her mum would do that?”
Lilly gave you a pointed look. “Just about every girls mum wants her daughter to land the perfect catch. They practically raise girls to be perfect house wives. My mum done it with me, it’s only half stuck” she laughed pulling out another dress.
You felt a pain in your heart at your friends words, for you didn’t have the luxury of growing up with a mum. You only knew your mum till you were eight, before she died. You love your dad but you missed your mum, and all the stuff you missed out on learning from her. Thankfully Lilly’s mum was a great second mum, not to mention your Aunt when she would come and visit would also give you a little of what you missed out on.
Lilly sighed holding your dress to her body, “I’m so jealous of all the lovely dresses you have”.
You smiled softly. “They are nice, but not ideal for a farm”.
“Well of course not! But when we go to town or parties, they will be perfect! Maybe I could borrow one or two sometime, specially when I have a hot date” Lilly asked leaning toward you batting her eyelashes.
You laughed taking the dress. “Sure, but make sure they are cleaned before returning them. Don’t want any suspicious stains on them”.
She gave you a disgusted look retrieving another dress. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m a lady” Lilly proclaimed sweetly.
You laughed taking the dress from her hands, while she gave you an offender look before she in turn laughed, not hurt by anything you said or done. That was your friendship, completely open and honest. Since you were both children you got on like a house on fire. You told each other everything and not once judged each other. Lilly was the sister you never had.
Once you had finished unpacking that was when you heard the revs of a motorcycle. You looked to Lilly, just as she looked to you. Without saying anything the both of you left your room and headed outside, hearing the revs again you figured it was coming from the old barn away from the house. Both giggling at the intrigue, you both headed for the barn. You were the one to put your weight into opening one of the barn doors, wiping your hands on your jeans walking into the space, Lilly right behind you.
Before you was your older brother, Andy with a racing bike. He looked up when realizing he wasn’t alone, wiping his hand on an old rag. Once his eyes landed on you did he smile brightly before pocketing the rag and coming over to engulf you in a big hug, which lifted you off the ground.
You laughed. “What a great welcome home”.
Andy laughed swinging you around. “Welcome home kid. I’ve missed you!”
You hit his shoulder telling him to put you down, which he did reluctantly. “You saw me a few months ago”.
“Still missed you!” He laughed.
You shook your head at your older brother, before eyes going back to the racer. “Project of yours?” You asked as you walked toward the bike.
Both Andy and Lilly followed you. Andy took the place he had originally been when you entered the barn, while you moved to the other side of the bike, Lilly chose to stand back. You looked over the bike, admiring it’s beauty. Motorcycles was the one thing you and your brother had in common. It was a great way to bond together when you were a teenager.
“When did you start racing?” You asked running a hand over the bikes seat. “Does dad know?”
Andy rolled his eyes. “Yeah he knows. I’ve been racing on and off for seven or so months”.
“He has ever since joining the Vandals” added Lilly.
You looked to your friend before back to your brother with a raised eyebrow. “Really? The Vandals huh? When were you going to tell me, hmm?”
Picking up a tool, Andy went back to adjusting something on the bike that you couldn’t see while shrugging his shoulders. “Does it matter?”
“You usually tell me these things Andy, I feel hurt you didn’t mention it” you said with a touch of sadness. “And dads fine with it?”
He laughed. “Of course, he’s fine with it. Since he knows most of the guys in the club”.
You nodded. “Alright.”.
“Don’t worry (Y/N), Uncle Johnny keeps an eye out for his boys” Lilly spoke up, knowing you worried about your brother.
Yes, you recall Lilly mentioning her Uncle Johnny, and that you had met him a few times when he had stopped off at Lilly’s house, was the leader of The Vandals. He seemed like a nice man, always looking out for his family. You also recalled her mentioning the club, but you hadn’t been around when it turned into a riding club, just when it was in the early stages of a racing club.
After that you and Lilly chatted with Andy while he worked on the bike. The atmosphere had returned to a happy and fun one. You learnt about what had been going on with Andy and the farm, along with your dad, who you still hadn’t seen yet. You couldn’t wait to see your old man, you had seen him a few months back when you saw Andy, but you missed the time with him. You had missed both men in your life. But now you were back where you belonged.
“There” sighed Andy dropping the tool in his hand and turning the bike off, “I think that will do for now. Just have to test her”.
“Her?” Both you and Lilly questioned looking at Andy.
“Yeah, her” he replied moving to kick up the bikes kickstand and holding the bike up. “It’s been nothing but temperamental and trouble, just like a female”. His tone was teasing, telling you he was joking around.
“Sounds more like a male” retorted Lilly with a laugh.
Andy shot her a dark look before laughing himself. You shook your head laughing at the two of them. Eventually he admitted defeat when he and Lilly went back and forth a bit more.
Andy began to move the bike around and then out the barn door, both you and Lilly following behind him. Out in the sunlight you can see the bike better, watching as Andy gave it another look over. You stepped up to him and watch him. Once he was happy with the bike, Andy was about to get on when you stopped him.
“Could I give it ago?” You asked softly. You’d ridden bikes before when you were a teen. Plus when you were living with your Aunt, which may or may not have upset her.
He looked at you unsure. “I don’t know kid. She hasn’t gotten all the kinks worked out of her. I still have this issue with her taking off when you go up in gears, she just accelerates and can be hard to handle”.
You nodded but smiled. “I promise to be careful and not go too fast. Please, can I?” You gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes you could.
Andy wasn’t sure if he should let you, but Lilly came to your defense. “Come on Andy, you know she will be careful. It’s just a few laps, it won’t hurt”.
Reluctantly he agreed and you shot Lilly a big smile, which she returned. So with his consent, you grasped the handle before moving to swing your leg over the bike, and sat down taking hold of the other handle. Andy stepped up and walked you through starting her up, you knew what to do but let him instruct you. He went over everything; front brake lever, throttle, clutch lever, gearshift lever and rear brake pedal. With his instructions he stepped back from you and let you go.
You started out slow, going around in circles before both your brother and friend. Lilly was cheering you on, which made you laugh. Gradually you picked up the speed and at Andy’s words, you did wider laps.
“You look so cool!” Called Lilly. Which you rolled your eyes at.
“Alright kid” Andy called. “Why don’t you take her back up behind the barn, then down toward the house and then turn right to take the long way back to the barn, get her speed up a bit more”.
You nodded giving him a solute, which made Lilly laugh and your brother call out for you to keep your hands on the handlebars. You did as he instructed before turning around and riding up behind the barn. As you looped back around you revved up the bike, and as you straightened up and headed for the house, you shifted the gears. Unfortunately the little issue your brother warned you about decided to come forth as you gained speed. The bike jerked with the acceleration, you held onto the handlebars tightly doing everything to keep the bike in check.
Andy noticed the change in your body and figured out what had happened, panic setting in he began calling out to you. He couldn’t do much more than that. He prayed you could handle the bike, and didn’t want to think of what could happen to you.
All the while before you had gotten on the bike, none of you were aware that your dad had returned home. Along with him were two men from The Vandals, the older male had dark hair while the younger dirty blonde hair, with stubble to match. They were discussing some business before heading around to the back of the house, when they all caught the sounds of a bike.
“Take it Andy’s working on his racer” the older male commented to your dad.
He laughed. “Yeah, the boys determined to smoke the competition Johnny”.
Johnny laughed. “He’s a good kid and rider, no doubt he will beat them”.
The Three started to make their way around to behind the house. They all looked up to the barn to see the bike take off up behind the old building. Your dad noticed two figures standing by the barn, one looked to be Andy, which confused the man. He wondered who was on the bike then. That was when the bike came back into view, heading towards the house. The shouting from the barn caught everyone’s attention, worry setting into your dad.
You had been so focused on staying in control of the bike you hadn’t noticed the three figures walking into your path until last minute. Upon seeing them you quickly dropped the gears on the bike before hitting the back brakes. With the light weight of the bike you managed to turn it right, planting your right foot to the ground and pulling off a slide stop. Dirt kicked up at your manoeuvre, you sat there a little stunned as the bike idled away.
You blinked a few times before turning to look at the males before you. But mostly to your dad, who looked just as stunned as you.
“Ah, hi dad” you said slowly. “Didn’t know you were home”.
He looked at you, to the bike you sat on and then back to you. “What are you doing?! You shouldn’t be riding that!”
You flinched at his slightly raised voice. “I was testing the bike for Andy...”
He shook his head. “Did he tell you about the issue it has with acceleration?” – You nodded – “and he still let you ride it!?”
“Well I promised to be careful” you replied.
Your old man shook his head. “You shouldn’t haven’t gotten on it (Y/N), what if you had crashed! Turn it off and get off it, now!”
“But I didn’t crash, I think I handled her pretty well” you defended as you turned off the bike before getting off it.
By this time both Andy and Lilly had jogged down to the scene. Your dad turned and began to have words with your brother, while he took the bike from you.
“Seriously Andy, I thought you’d know better than to let anyone on that bike before getting it sorted out” he said with a deep sigh.
Andy looked down while apologizing.
“It’s not all his fault, I wanted to ride it” you came to your brothers defense.
“Yes, well I’m disappointed in both of you. What if something had happened to you? Your brother would have to live with that” he guilt tripped you.
“I am sorry dad. But I kinda knew what I was doing...” you said softly not looking at the man before you.
That was when you noticed the other two on lookers. Suddenly you felt embarrassed that both of them were witnessing you and your brother getting a scolding.
While from the time you had stopped and until you finally noticed them, the younger of the two males had been looking at you. He was surprised when you had slid stopped the bike you were on. It had been like an Angel had slid before him. He was impressed by how you had not only handled the bike, but also your dad. But found you cute when you got embarrassed by him and Johnny. He could tell there was more to you, and it was fascinating.
Before you could really take in the two Vandals, your dad sighed once more. “Andy, take the bike back to the barn. (Y/N), go back into the house with Lilly”.
Lilly walked up to you and linked arms with you and began to pull you to the house, reluctantly you let her do so. All the while Lilly softly comment on the events. But before disappearing into the house, you watched your brother push his bike back up to the barn, then you looked to your dad and the older male watching your brother. Looking to the younger Vandal you saw him looking at you, and not to were the other two beside him was looking. But then Lilly pulled you into the house, severing eye contact to the young Vandal.
“What was that Fred?” Johnny finally questioned.
Your dad sighed. “That was my daughter. She got back today from her Aunts”.
Johnny whistled. “Might have your hands full with that one. But I will admit, that stop was impressive”.
Fred shook his head. “Don’t let her hear that. Don’t want to encourage her” he laughed darkly. “Come on, the sheds this way”.
Your dad started to walk again, while the other males followed. Johnny continued to ask about you, which your dad filled in. He said how he’d lost your mum when you were eight. How he did his best to raise you, all the while his sister-in-law kept hassling him about letting her take you in and raise you.
“The old battle-axe didn’t think I could raise a girl” Fred said with a sigh. “She was kinda right. I raised a tomboy”.
Johnny laughed while the other male smiled. “Nothin’ wrong with that” comment Johnny.
“I agree” said Fred, “but (Y/N) missed out on a lot not having a mum around. Thankfully Lilly's mum was there when it came to female things”.
Johnny nodded before following Fred into the shed. The younger male decided to wait outside, which was fine with the pair. Walking over to a fence before the shed, the young male lent back on the post, retrieving a pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket. Taking out a cigarette, he pocketed the packet and pulled out his lighter. With the cigarette between his lips he sparked the lighter and lit it. Taking the first drag he put away the lighter, eyes looking back at your house as he released the smoke into the air.
Honestly, he can say he had never seen a female ride a bike before. Usually the females that were around The Vandals were always on the back of one. So seeing you handle that bike like you had was not only impressive but also a turn on. He hoped to cross paths with you again sometime soon.
Johnny came out of the shed with Fred. “Come on Benny, were done here”.
Moving from the fence post, Benny followed both men back to the front of the house and where their bikes were. Once on their bikes, they both started them up. They sat there for a few minutes, which allowed Benny a few more drags from his smoke before tossing it off to the side. He and Johnny began to move their bikes back to turn around, when Benny got a glance of both you and Lilly by the window. With a small smile, they both took off, heading back into town and to the bar.
~~~
“As I said, it was something. Me embarrassed by my old man having words with me. I didn’t really take Benny in at the time” you stated putting out your cigarette.
“You said Benny noticed you more?” Danny asked checking his recorder.
“Yeah, he told me so later on. He’d call me his Angel on wheels” you laughed.
“So the next time you saw Benny, you finally spoke to each other?”
You laughed more at his words. “Unfortunately, no. We might have if the time was right. But that second time I saw Benny, I really saw him...”
A/N: please don't hate me for this lol. I am also sorry for the use of (Y/N).

Two beating heart’s part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Turn it over, ”feeling her chin on my shoulder, “can we do it togetherr?" "Yeah“ turning it over …
Turning the stick over, two pink lines started us right back in our faces. "Two pink lines” Kyra whispered, her tears dampening my shoulder. "Two pink lines," I said, turning around and letting my tears fall. I brought my hands up to her face, wiping her tears away. "We're going to be moms."

In the moment, the reality of what the test really meant sank in. We were going to be moms, and we were going to have a baby in 9 months. A little human that would depend on us Amidst my excitement and nerves, I'm scared. What if I'm a bad mom? "Kyra, I'm scared."
pulling away. looking down at me with confusion and concern spreads over her face. "Why are you scared?" looking anywhere but her. "What if I do something wrong? What if something happens to the baby?  Kyra What if I fuck up?" Putting her hand over my mouth to stop me from talking.
"You won't. You will be the best mom in the world, and if something happens, we will do our best to fix it. We will just have to wait and see. But you and I will try our best. I know that."

Putting my head on her chest, "I love you, Kyra, and I can't wait to have a little you running around," her chest going up and down as she chuckles, "I love you, and I think you're going to take that back at some point," laughing because I know that’s probably true, “Can we go to bed? I’m really tired, and we have training tomorrow.“ pulling her with me to the bed. “Okay.“ pulling back the blanket and climbing in, pulling Kyra into my arms just so I could kiss her.
————————————————————————————
I know this is short I’m going to try and make a longer one soon but for now this is all you are getting all so I’m going to say that kyra is 20 and Lilly is 19 this book starts on 24/9/22 she is 2 weeks pregnant

Heyyyy! How’s everything going?
If you’re up for it, I’d love to see a Sirius Black x fem reader where she’s sick or injured and he takes care of her.
Totally understandable if this doesn’t inspire you though!
Have an awesome day 🥰
DELUSIONS AND DAYDREAMS
Sirius x f!reader, 1000 words
a/n: hey anon, im doing good thank you! I hope everyone is also doing well :) this was such a cute lil fic, I hope it’s the right dosage of fluff mixed with angst for your day <3
c/w: friends with tension. Reader has a twisted ankle, smoking, sexual connotations and a confession of love.
Tumblr media
He warned you not to do it, he really did. When you said you were going ice-skating on the black lake with your friends he told you that you’re “too clumsy for your own good”, but due to your unresolving stubbornness you went anyways. So he’s not surprised when Marlene messages him a few hours later, bluntly stating that you “twisted your ankle and need someone to come and get you.”
Without a second thought he walks down to you, throwing some weak and easily transparent excuse over his shoulders to his friends. Rest assured the moment he leaves James will make a comment on how head over heels for you he is. When he arrives, it doesn’t take him long to spot you. You’re sitting alone on the edge of the lake, snow cushioning your jeaned legs from the ground and a despondent look on your face as you watch your friends laugh and scream without you. His poor girl, you look so upset by yourself. He creeps up behind you, sitting down to meet your sniffily little figure.
“Hey darling.” He coos, the oddly romantic pet name rolling off his tongue like many times before. “Siri…” You mutter, flopping your forehead onto his shoulder weakly. Sirius chuckles, scratching your head comfortingly. “Come on, I’m taking you back to my dorm.” You groan, not even moving from your spot, but Sirius doesn’t give in easily. He never does. Instead he merely huffs, effortlessly picking you up regardless of your protests. You always tell him he’s “too much”, constantly flirting or playing with you. “I’m not going to ever get a boyfriend if you keep on doing this!” you always yell. Perhaps that’s his plan, because he’s been desperately in love with you from the day you first met.
As you walk, he ignores the judging stares of others and instead opts to focus on easing your pain.
“How bad does it hurt?”
“Like a seven out of ten.”
“Well that’s no good princess! You didn’t try any spells on it?”
“Lilly did, but I don’t think it helped much”
“I’ve got some tokes in my room, maybe that’ll help.”
“Yay!!”
When the two of you arrive, the boys are sitting in the common room, staring disappointedly at him as he carries you into his room. He knows later he’ll get some lecture by Remus about how he needs to start “putting himself first”, but he doesn’t care one bit when he sees you lying on his bed, silky hair spread out on his linen and eyes fluttering in a daze. What if he was on top of you right now, making you scream his name with that pretty little voice and scrunched up face and-
No. He can’t think about that. It’s wrong.
As promised earlier, Sirius whips out a pack of cigarettes and hands you one, smiling when you giggle in delight. The two of you sit in a blissful silence for a while, both separately enjoying the smoke and depth within both of your lungs. That is, until you break the silence with something Sirius wouldn’t even imagine in his own mind.
“Wouldn’t it be crazy if we dated?” Hah, that would be insane he thinks, respective of his own ideas. Instead Sirius just stays silent, too scared of what could blurt out of his mouth. “Cause Frank mentioned something to me the other day that got me thinking… Why did nothing ever happen between us?” Sirius darts his head up to meet you, puzzled by the question. Truthfully, he has pondered this very idea on many sleepless nights, wondering why you always went for the good, boring guys and never blushed whenever he makes some blatant flirt in your direction. He was hot, other girls tell him that all the time. And you know that you can trust him, you’ve been friends for years. But of course it never happened. Perhaps your just out of his league.
“I-I don’t know. I guess we were just never into each other like that.” He finally manages. You scoff, your half lidded eyes looking at him in jest. “That’s not true. I was crazy for you all of year one two and three.” “Wait, what?” You laugh at his shock, which quickly turns into a grimace as you moved your foot in some awkward way, forgetting it was injured. “Sirius, you could never tell? I used to pray to Merlin that you would like me back, but then you got with Daisy M and I moved on.”
Every moment, every time he cursed himself for feeling how he does and dreaming about you came crashing down on him. How could he be so stupid? In one big puff his cigarette is finished, snuffing it out onto his battered and broken bedside table and placing his head in his hands.
Although it appeared distant in his confused state, he heard your voice clearly rattling his brain as you continue to speak. “I think we could do it. Like, we could be a thing. Your hot, I’m… average and we know each other better than anyone. Plus, it would probably be easiest. Instead of wasting our time trying to find someone else.”  Sirius tries not to break down at your words, revealing it’s all he’s ever wanted. “Just a chance” he would say, “Just one chance to prove I’m worth your time.”
But before he can say any of the millions of thoughts swirling around in his head your fast asleep, the pain from earlier finally catching up with you and the cigarette ash coating his bed to the side of you.
He brushes it off, kisses your forehead and walks out.
“I love you darling.”

Pantyhose or pantywhores?
barbie dolls:James x regulus x Lily x fem reader
word:2.5k ish
summmary: you and your partners go to a dinner and you're hot so they take you home as fast as possible
warnings: regulus likes pantyhose, choking you revive and give, James eats you out and regulus fingers Lily, tights stay on during sex, rushed ending, very little dirty talk, James gets called a whore oops, I think that's it but idk
request: yeah how'd you know are you watching me
Regulus loved pantyhose on you, spefically the ones that he bought you for your birthday. They had flowers swirling around the legs, lillies. James loved tight dresses. He loved when his lovers sat down in them. Their thighs would push the hem up. James was a big lover of thighs. Lily loved cardigans, revealing tops, and dress that hugged your hips. She loved hip dips, often dragging her tongue over the indents.
Today appeared to their lucky day. You four were going to have dinner with Sirius and Remus. Sirius told you to dress like a high end prostute that has gotten married to a rich man, and stopped working. With that helpful statement, you dressed in your stockings, a short and flowing dress, with a pretty cardigan to pull it all together.
When you stepped out to leave, all three of your partners looked up and froze. You noticed their change, suddenly feeling like you should change. Regulus closed his book, setting it on the side table next to him.
“I don’t think Sirius will miss us. I’m sure we could stay home.” Regulus muttered. Lily hummed in agreeance. You felt your shoulders sink even more.
“Is it that bad?” You asked. James sputtered.
“It’s that good.” James said, staring dircetly at your thighs. You scoffed and rolled your eyes.
“Oh do pull yourselves together.” You declared, moving towards the front door. You were pulling you coat off the hook and shrugging it on just as the three of them joined you.
“Im compsed, I just also want to see you naked.” Regulus said, stamping a kiss to your temple.
“And Sirius said they had news to share.” You argued, handing Regulus’ coat to him. Lily joined you at your side, pulling on her own jacket.
“Yes, I agree. I can suck your tits after we have dinner.” Lily smiled at you innocently. James huffed, snatching his jacket from Lily’s hands.
“Damn Sirius and his annocments.” James grumbled. You were finally out the door and headed towards the restraunt in no time.
Dinner seemed to be particularly hard for your lovers. They were staring at you most of the evening. Lily sat across from you, Regulus sat next to her. On the sides you had James, across from Regulus, and Sirius. He was sat across from Remus. Lily was the first to catch on to your antics. She noticed you leaning over the table more often, and squeezing your arms together. Lily understood what you were doing and was trying her hardest to not let you see her staring down your shirt. Not to let you win, she was not going to look at your boobs. That’s just disrespectful.
Regulus was the second to catch on. He first jumped at the feeling of you bumping your foot by the hem of his trousers, making the dishware clink. Sirius looked over at him with an eyebrow raised.
“You alright?” Remus asked. Regulus nodded, making up some lie about seeing a waiter almost drop a plate. You gave him a worried look, playing the act of his innocent partner. Then just as things were settling, you started pushing the hem of his pants up his calf. Regulus looked up from his plate, glaring at you. Lily was still distracted, staring down your top.
James was the last. He assumed it was just that he was particularly horny, not that you were purposely pushing the edge of your dress up. His eyes were trained on your thighs the entire dinner. Lily eventually kicked him, coming out of her boob trance. James startled, looking up at you. You smirked at him and shrugged your shoulder, thats when he conected Regulus’ blush and your displayed thighs.
Dinner was hell for all of them, trying their hardest to pull themselves together and not eyefuck you. Regulus ignored the feeling of you playing footsie with him. Lily was trying her hardest to ignore your cleavage (extremly hard). James was trying to focus on the conversation, not your very biteable thighs. Eventually Sirius and Remus made their annocment, they were getting a new couch, and you were being pushed out the door.
You were home in no time, James putting aside his good Samaritan agenda to speed. Regulus was pulling your coat and cardigan off and throwing them in the general direction of coat rack. You heard a clatter but it left your mind as Regulus pulled you against him. He kissed with a fever you weren’t sure if you’d even seen. You heard Lily’s heels click towards you both. You felt her hand grip the fabric of the back of your dress. You were tugged towards your shared bedroom, taking Regulus along. You heard James’ heavy footfalls following you three.
Lily unzipped the back of your dress as Regulus prodded at your mouth with his tongue. You slipped your arms out of the sleeves, letting the dress pool at your ankles. You pulled back from Regulus as Lily unhooked your bra. She pulled the straps down your arms, before turning you face her. You found her already naked. James was probably the culprit, too egar for his own good. Lily quickly pulled you into a kiss, running her hands along the tiny net stretched over your hips. She pushed her tongue to meet yours as she dropped her hands to your ass, squeezing.
You nipped at her bottom lip. You felt a warm hand press against your back. You pulled away from Lily, wrapping your arms around James’ neck. You pulled him in for a kiss as well. James rested his hands on the back of your thighs before pulling you off the ground. He gently placed you on your back against the mattress. You laughed as smiled against your mouth. Regulus patted James’ shoulder. James moved out of the way so Regulus could reach you. He gently lifted one leg by the ankle. Regulus slipped your shoe off before setting it down by the nightstand. He did the same with your other shoe as Lily moved to sit next to you on the bed. Regulus then spread your legs slowly, stepping between them. He leaned down and gently kissed your lips. Regulus pulled back to stare into your eyes with all the seriousness his face could muster.
“I’ll buy you a new set, ma amour.” You gave him a confused face. Regulus dropped his hands between your legs. He grabbed either side of the fragile fabric before pulling in opposite directions. You heard a loud rip and a chill breeze float over you. You heard Regulus groan before placing a small kiss to your inner thigh, the pantyhose covering the skin. You glanced down to check his handiwork. Regulus had ripped a tear along the seam down the middle of the stockings. James peered over your raised leg. He looked back at you with a raised eyebrow.
“No underwear? Who are you? Naomi Lapaglia?” James asked. Lily leaned over at the mention of no underwear. She hummed and looked back at you. Regulus was too busy kissing at your leg to even notice.
“First of all James, It’s quite embarrassing you know her by name. Secondly, they’d make lines. Thirdly, Regulus likes it more that way.” You said, pointing at Regulus who was now tracing the lines on your calf. James glanced over at Regulus. Regulus side eyed James before making eye contact with him finally.
“You’re such a sheltered Victorian man, Regulus.” James muttered. Regulus glared at James.
“I know you can not be talking Mr. Please-tie-me-up-and-call-me-a-slut.” Regulus whispered against the skin of your knee. James gasped and pointed at Regulus, ready to start a war.
“Boys. Do try to get your priorities straight. You have two naked women on your bed and your more focused on wining an argument. “ Lily said, motioning to both you and herself. James dropped his hand.
“Too right you are, Ma chère.” Regulus said, leaning over you to kiss Lily. Regulus' attention was dragged back to your stockings, the feeling under his fingers pulling him back. He pressed his lips the a stitched flower under your knee. He looked up, making eye contact with you as he dragged a finger down the inside of your thigh. You sighed happily at him. Regulus moved back to you.
“vous êtes si belle, ma amour.” You smiled into his kiss. Regulus' hand dragged up and down the side of your legs, feeling the fabric beneath his fingertips. James patted Regulus' hip.
“Alright, alright, quite hogging.” James said. Regulus pulled back from you and glared at him. He rolled his eyes and stepped away from you, crawling on top the bed. Regulus moved to Lily, meeting her lips. James kneeled down to the floor, settling on his knees. He pulled you closer to the edge of the bed by your hips.
James glanced up at you, meeting your eyes. You nodded. He delved his face down, warming your folds with a wide swip of his tongue. You moaned, missing the feeling of James between your legs. Lily pulled away from Regulus, pressing her lips to your sternum. James moved his tongue with skill, having memorized the shape of your cunt.
You felt Regulus' hand gently stroke your cheek. You looked up at him. You smiled. Lily brought your nipple into her mouth, circling it with her tongue. You groaned at the feeling of two of your partners running their tongue over your body. James pulled your legs over his shoulders, bringing you closer. Regulus kissed your temple, tracing your eyebrow. Lily massaged your other tit just as James circled your clit. You sighed, meeting Regulus' eyes above you.
James focused his attention on your clit as Lily switched nipples. Regulus pulled you into a kiss, swallowing your whines. You pressed your thighs to James' ears. He pushed his tongue into your hole. You nipped Regulus' lip in response. Regulus slid one hand around to your throat. He tightened his hold on the sides. You crossed your ankles behind James' back.
James moaned into you, the vibrations making you roll your eyes back. You looked over her, seeing James staring up at you from between your legs. You threw your head back into Regulus' lap. Regulus released your neck, letting your blood reach your head again. Lily pulled away from your chest, pinching both nipples now. She kissed you before dipping her head now to your neck. Regulus dragged his hand down your sternum and kissed your cheek. Lily leaned over his arm, switching sides of your neck to mark there too.
Regulus placed his hand on Lily's arched back, following the curve of her ass. He pinched her cheek. Lily pulled her head away from your neck. She flicked her hair off her shoulder, glaring at Regulus. Regulus lurched forward and pressed his lips to hers. Lily pulled him closer by the back of his head, meeting his tongue. You watched them closely, focused on their movements against each other. Regulus slid his hand down her back and past her hips, dipping between her legs. You couldn't see the movement of his hands but you could assume by Lily's moans it was good.
Lily sighed and leaned down further, resting on her elbows. She pressed her forehead into the mattress as Regulus kissed her back, continuing his movements between her legs. Over Lily's back you could see James watching them, he had pulled his head up with his jaw slack. You glared at him, jutting your hips up. James moved his eyes from Regulus' hand circling Lily's clit to your face. You raised an eyebrow. James winked at you before moving back between your legs.
You moaned at his tongue. You had been so focused on Lily and Regulus you didn't notice the lack of his warmth. With it returned you remembered how nice his tongue felt. Lily pushed her hips back into Regulus' hand as she let out a whimper. James' eyes rolled back the sight, groaning into you. You pressed your thighs into his ears, dropping your head back.
As Lily's moans grew closer together so did yours. Regulus kissed Lily’s back as he countinued rubbing her clit. James kept his face squeezed tightly between your legs, pushing his tongue into your hole over and over again. You felt James moving in a repetive motion, his nose bumping into your clit. You slapped Regulus’ thigh. He snapped his head at you. You pointed at James before he moved his nose just right, making you moan and squeeze your eyes shut. Regulus looked over the edge of the bed to see what James was doing.
Regulus saw James rutting his clothed cock against the edge of the mattress. Regulus sat bacck, keeping his fingers busy as he lightly pressed a kiss to your cheek. He whispered in your ear what James was doing. You pulled Regulus into a proper kiss. Regulus moved back, kissing on Lily’s neck. You tapped James on his back with your heel. James looked up, his eyes a little glazed.
“Youre such a pathetic slut, we haven’t even touched you and you're humping against the edge of bed like a whore.” You mocked James’ whines. He squeezed his eyes shut as he kept his mouth working. Regulus pulled you into a kiss again. You nipped at his bottom lip before James knocked his nose up into your clit in just the right angle. You dropped your head back, shutting your eyes as he repeated this. Regulus kissed down your exposed throat, leaving a few marks behind. You felt Lily push herself further down into the mattress, her chest pressing into your stomach. Regulus returned his attention to her. You dropped your hand to her nearby neck, squeezing at the sides. Lily let out a strangled squeal, rocking her hips back into Regulus’ hand.
James was quickening his motions, your muscles tightening. You felt your orgasm quickly approaching, tightening your grip on Lily’s neck. You noticed her stretching her fingers out in the sheets. You knocked James in the back with your heel as you tightened your jaw from his unending torture. He plunged his tongue into your hole again before pulling your clit between his lips. You moaned as you finished, James moving quickly to lap at you. You heard Lily orgasm soon after, dropping her forehead onto the mattress. You released her neck and pulled your thighs away from James’ ears.
When his head popped up, his chin was wet, he was grinning like a fool , and the sides of his face had the inprint of your tights. Regulus’ hand came into your veiw of James’ face, slipping his fingers past James’ lips. James stared up into Regulus’ eyes as James swirled his tongue around his fimgertips. Eventually you were all seperating yourselves and dragging each other to the bathroom.
You wrapped up your night sitting on the couch in fresh pajamas, a bowl of ice cream in your lap, and Megamind playing on your tv. Regulus mentioned during your bath that he had never seen it and James was not allowing that. You passed out in Lily’s lap before Megamid met Tighten.

Are you still taking requests if not by past this
Lilly (Marshall’s daughter) has a recital that she invited him to but for obvious reasons (him being a celebrity) he isn’t able to go so Lilly is upset and Marshall is kinda bummed and he try’s to make it up to her
« Just Daddy » - Eminem One Shot
Tumblr media
Author’s note : THANK YOU for your request ! I am so in love with the Lily/Marshall duo ! If ay of you guys have any requests about this… PLEASE keep them coming, because they make my heart full ! (Also, it is the perfect opportunity for some cute and comforting fluff !!!)
MARSHALL’S POV
Marshall usually needed a very good reason to interrupt a studio session, especially if it was one with Dre. In that case, he had interrupted a studio session with Dre, Fifty and Snoop, which could only mean one thing : there was an emergency. In that case, the emergency was Lily’s first big ballet recital, which he couldn’t attend. In truth, he could easily have rescheduled his trip to LA to record a feature and produce a few tracks for Fifty’s latest album, but he couldn’t have attended the recital in person anyway. So far, he had managed to attend the smaller representations, but since this very recital involved most of the art schools in Detroit, with a bit of press coverage involved, he couldn’t take the risk of causing any problems. So instead, he had his wife FaceTime him, so that he would not miss the whole thing.
The sight would make anyone raise an eyebrow : four hip-hop legends sitting in front of an iPad, watching a five year-old’s ballet recital.
Which one’s yours, man ? Snoop asked.
Here, Marshall said proudly. Front and center.
He lovingly watched his baby dance on stage, dressed as a little mouse (or was it supposed to be a cat ?) In a tiny pink tutu. He arbored the brightest smile upon noticing his good his baby was doing. And, being totally objective, she was the one shining the brightest ! When the performance ended and his wife ended the call, he reluctantly turned off the iPad. He had been gone for a whole week and he was gutted to miss such a big event for Lily. So far, in spite of his hectic schedule, he had been able to attend all the major events for her, showing up whenever he could, whether it was school activities or dance performances.
You good, bro ? Fifty asked.
Yeah, yeah, he shrugged.
Missing the family ? Dre chimed in.
… Yeah, he admitted. I’m usually able to be there for these things.
We could have rescheduled, you know ? Snoop said. This shit’s important. I’d never miss my grandchildren’s things.
I know, Marshall replied. I would have. But it’s a fairly big city event, there’s press and I can’t show up like that. You can’t have Eminem ruining a children’s performance by causing a riot or whatever… I wouldn’t have been able to attend anyway, so I might as well work, you know ?
The press still don’t know about your kid, right ? Dre asked.
Nope, he said with a smile. Best kept secret in the country, so far.
Drake’s meat gets leaked on the Internet and meanwhile, you have a family the world knows nothing about, Fifty mused with a grin.
It’s better this way, Marshall shrugged. Lily’s living the life I always wanted for my eldest : I can give her everything and she doesn’t have to deal with the whole « being Eminem’s daughter » craze. And Y/N doesn’t have do deal with the attention either.
Not bad, Dre conceded. We all know you love your privacy.
And how you get crazy when it comes to your kids’ lives, Fifty added.
They never asked for the bullshit, Marshall simply said. And I swear to God, if Lily’s face ever gets leaked to the press, you guys will have to visit me in jail.
The others all chuckled. He had always been a protective father but it was even worse when it came to Lily. Rightfully so, though : when the eldest were growing up, attention was a bit easier to avoid. But now, with social media, his baby could become viral in a matter of hours, with no hope for his team to be able to kill the story by bribing the press or threatening to sue. Even now that Alaina, Hailie and Stevie were grown up, they were always dealing with the consequences of having a famous dad, and he wanted to avoid that for his youngest. The less she knew, the better. As far as she was concerned, her Dad made music she didn’t really care about (who was Eminem to compete with Disney princesses and puppies anyway ?) and she had no idea of the magnitude of things. Most of the time, he was able to go places with her and, on the rare occasion people walked up to him, she just assumed it was people he knew. He was also lucky that, so far, she hadn’t really batted an eye when it came to the security officers that discreetly accompanied them.
They slowly went back to their recording session, the conversation shifting to the others’ kids, then going back to what brought them to Dre’s studio in the first place : music. A few hours later, he was getting ready for dinner, while FaceTiming Y/N.
We miss you here, she said.
I miss you girls too, he admitted. Three days and I’m back home. Is Lily with you ? I want to congratulate her.
In her room, his wife said. She… doesn’t want to talk to you.
What do you mean she doesn’t want to talk to me ?! He asked. What’s wrong ? The performance was good, she was amazing on stage… What went wrong ?
You weren’t there to hug her when she walked off stage, like you usually are, Y/N explained. She’s upset. She was a mess for fifteen minutes and Hailie had to bribe her with ice cream.
Shit, he sighed.
I told her you had to work, she explained with tears in her eyes. But yes… That was a hard.
Babe… Are you crying ? He asked.
Don’t worry, she said with a smile. I’m tired and hormonal. Blame it on the babies you put in me.
How are my sons, by the way ? He asked with a soft smile.
Your possible sons are making their mom’s life a nightmare, she laughed. If I could, I would sleep all the time. And I don’t sleep as well when you’re not in bed with me.
A few more nights and I’ll be able to cuddle the shit out of you, he said reassuringly. And I’ll stay home for the rest of your pregnancy.
It’s fine, she said with a yawn. I’m only nine weeks pregnant. I can manage.
I can’t wait to tell everyone we’re having two more babies, he said. We talked kids with the guys and I swear… Keeping it a secret is harder than I thought it would be. I’m so excited for my sons.
Possible sons, she giggled. I have to go and put Lily to bed. Say hi to everyone for me, will you ?
Sure, he replied. Tell Lily I love her ? I’ll try and call tomorrow morning, ok ?
Of course, Y/N said. I should warn you though… She’s really upset. And she has her Daddy’s temper, too.
Fuck, babe, can you… Can you try and get her to talk to me ? Please ?
He could see Y/N open the door to Lily’s room and ask her if she wanted to say hi to him before bed but he heard his daughter’s voice say « No. He wasn’t here, I’m not talking to him ». These two sentences were enough to break his heart, nearly making him sick. He could see his wife looking annoyed and upset, mouthing a silent « I’m sorry » to the camera. They exchanged a few more words and « I love you » to each other and they ended the call.
It took about thirty seconds for Marshall to make up his mind : screw dinner, screw work, he was flying home. When he decided to adopt Lily, he promised himself to love her, care for her and never do anything to hurt her, and there was no way he would stay in LA while knowing his baby was sad because of him. What kind of father and husband would that make him, leaving his hormonal pregnant wife to pick up his slack ? In five minutes, he packed everything he had in the guest bedroom he occupied at Dre’s house and went downstairs, carrying his bag.
Ready for dinner ? Dre asked before seeing he had his bag in hand. Oh…
Sorry man, he said. I have to fly home.
Anything wrong ? His mentor asked.
Upset daughter, exhausted pregnant wife, guilty me, he summed up.
Pregnant wife, huh ?
Shit. Wasn’t supposed to tell you, he chuckled. But, yeah. Twins.
Congrats, man, Dre said as he dapped him. Alright. Go back to the family, we’ll pick up sometimes soon.
Sure, he said. Thanks. Dinner’s on me, I already put my card down at the restaurant. Say bye to the guys for me.
I should have known you’d fly home, Dre grinned.
Why ? Marshall chuckled.
Because it’s Lily, Dre replied. As far as you’re concerned, it’s her world and we’re all living in it.
Ten minutes later, he was in the car, begging an annoyed Paul to arrange for the jet to fly him back to Detroit as soon as possible. The manager tried to argue with him about his schedule and how late it was but he knew him well enough to know that there was no convincing him to stay in California any longer. Six hours later, in the middle of the night, he crossed the threshold to his house, his heart warming up at the sight of his family’s things scattered all over the place. Evidently, Y/N had had her arms full with Lily in the past week and he couldn’t help but wonder how they would manage once the twins would be born. He usually preferred tidy spaces, by far, but the realization that the mess was caused by his growing, loving family put a smile on his face. He let his bags in the foyer and went to the bedroom, where he found Y/N fast asleep in one of his tee-shirts, hugging his pillow. He got undressed and tried not to wake her up, though he failed miserably as she jumped as soon as she felt the dip in the mattress.
Hey beautiful, he said softly. It’s just me.
You’re home ? She asked with a confused expression on her face.
It’s 90°F in California but the bed was too cold without you, he said with a smile. I was missing home.
She immediately engulfed him in a hug and he took in her lovely scent as he returned the embrace. One week without the love of his life was too much. He sniffed and noticed something different. His cologne. On her.
Missed me ? He asked with a grin.
Oh, shut up, Y/N said as she rolled her eyes. You know I need a big if you you to fall asleep.
I see, he said with a smile. Enjoy the tee-shirt, babe. Soon, you’ll be too fat to put my clothes on.
And you’ll have to sleep on the couch to give my fat ass some space in bed, she giggled.
No way, he chuckled with a shake of his head. We’re sleeping together until the end of this pregnancy. The four of us.
He placed a loving hand on his wife’s stomach. She wasn’t really showing yet, but he could swear it was just a tiny bit rounder than when he had left. Or maybe he was simply too excited. Y/N laid back down and he kissed her tenderly before kissing her stomach as well.
Hey guys, he said softly. I’m home. Thanks for taking care of your Mama for me.
They’re beating the shit out of me, she giggled before yawning. Between fatigue and morning sickness, work and taking care of Lily, I’m a mess. Haven’t had the time to clean up much.
I saw that, he replied with a smile. I’ll take care of Lily and the mess tomorrow, you just rest, alright ?
Ok, she said before kissing him. I think Lily’s going to be pleased to see you.
You think ? He asked anxiously.
She’s mad but she’ll get over it eventually, she shrugged.
How mad are we talking, exactly ?
« The time you forgot our anniversary » mad, I think, she chuckled.
Any chance the Hermès bag works for Lily as well ? He joked.
You’re not getting our five year-old a designer bag, she warned. And you know what got you forgiven wasn’t the bag, or any of the other thousand fancy presents you bought to suck up to me that day.
I know, he chuckled. I’ll find a way to make it up to her. Hopefully it doesn’t involve watching Frozen again.
You’re on your own with this one, buddy, Y/N said. If I have to sing « Let it go » one more time, I am jumping out of the window.
Buddy ? He asked. One week away from you and I’ve been downgraded from « My love » to « Buddy » ?
Make up for your absence and we’ll see, homie.
You’re lucky I slept on the jet and I’m all energized, he grinned before pulling her to him.
Safe to say they didn’t sleep much that night, making up for the time spent apart. Y/N was fast to blame the horniness on the hormones and he couldn’t help but think to himself that, if that was true, he would have a lot of fun in the upcoming months. After the deed was done, though, she immediately fell asleep in his arms. She did seem exhausted and it was probably a good thing that he was back, so that she could rest as much as possible. A glance at the clock and he noticed that it was almost 8:00. Lily’s wake up time. And time for him to make amends to his baby girl. He put on some clothes and made his way to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast. He was putting everything on a tray, ready to bring it to her bedroom when the doorbell rang, the florist delivering the huge bouquet he had ordered just in time. Bouquet in one hand, tray I the other, he went up the stairs and knocked on the door with his foot before entering.
Daddy ! Lily said as soon as she saw him.
Hey bug, he said with a smile.
She was sitting up in bed, in her pink PJs, her hair still in the bun she wore for the representation. A smile passed on his baby’s face, before being quickly replaced by a frown. Almost as if she suddenly remembered that she was mad at him. Y/N could say what she wanted, that she took a lot after his personality (which was not wrong) she was so her mother. Thankfully, fifty years of life, countless girlfriends and four daughters had taught him a lot when it comes to charm offensive.
Thought you’d enjoy breakfast in bed, today, he said. Got you some flowers, too. Do you know what they are ?
Lilies, she said with a smile - and he could see she was trying hard to conceal it. Like me.
That’s right, baby, he grinned. You did amazing at your recital, you know ? Made me proud.
You missed the recital, Daddy  she said.
I know, bug, he said as he put the tray and the bouquet on her bedside table. But Mommy FaceTimed me and I still watched you dance, you know ?
You did ? She asked.
Of course, he replied. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Uncle Dre, Uncle Fifty and Snoop watched with me, too.
But it’s not the same, she pointed out.
I know, he said. Mommy told you I had to work, right ?
She nodded with a small pout and mumbled something about him usually never working on Saturdays. At five years old, she wasn’t exactly a baby anymore and she was perfectly capable of sensing when things weren’t usual. Seeing the sadness and disappointment in her eyes broke his heart. He sighed and sat on the edge of her bed.
Want to eat, bug ? He asked. I made your favorite pancakes.
Ok, she said, still frowning.
You’re mad at me, huh ?
She nodded as she started eating. He sighed, not sure what he could say. His wife giving him the silent treatment when she was mad at him wasn’t enjoyable, but having your five year-old do it was a nightmare.
I’m really sorry, he said.
Will you come to the next year’s ? She asked.
I… uh… maybe, he said.
Obviously, this wasn’t the desired answer. She stared at him with her big blue eyes, as if she was giving him an opportunity to correct his answers. He scratched his throat and realized that it was probably time to have a talk about him possibly having to miss some events.
Look, bug, I might not be able to make it to next year’s recital if it’s a big event, he explained.
Why ? She asked. You don’t want to see me on the stage ?
No, no, it’s not that, baby, he said reassuringly. I always want to see you on stage. No one is more proud of you than I am. I want to show up to all of your recitals, but sometimes, there’s a lot of people.
So ?
So… You know I make music, right ? He asked. You know that’s my job, and that’s how I make money ?
Yes, she said. In the studio. With the big words I can’t say.
That’s right, he nodded. Well… A lot of people listen to my music.
They do ? She asked with a raised eyebrow.
The side-eye almost made him chuckle. With his level of fame, it would be easy for him to get big-headed but, thankfully, having children usually did a great job in keeping you humble. Rap God or not, his kids usually weren’t too impressed. It had taken years for his eldest to start showing an interest in his music, and Lily was no different.
They do, he nodded. I’m sort of… famous. So a lot of people know me. You know, the places where we usually go, a lot of people wave and say hi ?
Yes, she said.
They’re not my friends, he said. They know me from my music.
Ok, she said, still not seeing what he was getting at.
Usually, people are very nice to me, and it’s not a big deal, but if I turn up at a big event, a lot of people might come and talk to me. Like… A lot of people, he explained. And if I show up to one of your big events where the press is, people are going to take pictures and if they see you with me, they might start bugging you.
Really ? She asked.
Yes. And, as your Dad, it’s my job to be there for you, but a most important part of the job is to make sure that no one bothers you, he added. So, if you have these big events, I’m super proud of you, and I want to be there but, sometimes, I’m going to have to watch from somewhere else. I will always try to show up, and I can do it if it’s small events for school and stuff, but big events with thousands of people is a bit harder.
Oh. Ok, she said with a hint of disappointment.
But no matter if I’m here or not, I’m always super proud of you, you know ? And I never want to make you sad, he added.
So, it’s not that you like work more ? She asked with pleading eyes.
Of course not, bug, he said as he stroked her cheek. Work will never be more important than you. Never.
Ok, she said with an understanding face.
Are you still mad at me ? He asked.
No, she shrugged. But I’m still sad.
Let me make it up to you, ok ? He suggested. How about we spend the day together, just the two of us ? We can do whatever you want.
She nodded with a sly smile and, deep down, though he was relieved to see her smile, he knew he was doomed. And, indeed, she made him go through the labour of Hercules. They went to walk Winky, the corgi they got her for her fifth birthday and then, she wanted to go for some ice cream. She knew full well she wouldn’t be allowed to have it so soon after breakfast, but she reminded him that he said they could do « whatever she wanted », while making puppy eyes at him. He obliged and took her to her favorite ice cream place, at the mall. Thankfully, it was Sunday so there weren’t a lot of people around. The two security guards, dressed in regular civilian clothes so as not to attract attention, were almost unnecessary. It was one of the perks of living in Detroit : not as many people as NYC or LA, no paparazzis, not so many tourists and, mostly, people either didn’t recognize him (perks of dressing with regular, inexpensive clothes for everyday life) or treated him as part of the scenery. He knew full well that, if he had lived elsewhere, everyone would know about his marriage, him adopting Lily and his wife being pregnant. Thankfully, though, he was able to maintain a private family life and prayed that it would remain this way for as long as possible. At the mall, they saw a poster for Taylor Swift’s album and Lily was really excited.
Daddy, when you say you’re famous… Do you mean like her ? Lily asked.
Yes, he said. Kind of like her. A bit more. I’ve been doing this for a long time, you know ? Longer than her.
Because you’re old ? She asked.
Older, he grimaced.
Mommy says you’re old, she pointed out with a giggle.
Well I’m going to have to have a talk with Mommy, he said as he rolled his eyes.
Lily ended up dragging him to what seemed to be every single store of the mall. Ice cream shop. Build A Bear. Clothing stores. Toy stores. They finally went home after he spent an ungodly amount of money but the smile on Lily’s face was worth it. However, the day was still young and his daughter was clearly not done. Once they were home, she insisted on having a princess tea party with him and the two bears they made at the mall, so he found himself on the floor of her bedroom, drinking juice in a teacup while she applied makeup on his face. He inspected himself in the mirror.
Are you sure that’s the exact same way you had your makeup done for your dance recital ? He asked with a raised eyebrow.
Yes, she nodded. Just like that. But I had whiskers because I was a mouse.
Mmmh, ok, he said as he tried to hold a chuckle. I need the whiskers then.
When his wife came to see them, she burst out laughing as soon as she saw him.
Are you guys having fun ? She asked with a grin.
Time of our lives, he said sarcastically. Right Lily ?
Yes, she said. Daddy said we can do whatever I want today.
Is that so ? Y/N asked. Looks like Daddy should be more careful with his words.
Aren’t I the prettiest princess in all the land ? Marshall asked.
Yes my love, she giggled. Though I believe a princess would have a proper manicure.
Mommy can I have your nail polish for Daddy ?! Lily suddenly exclaimed.
I’ll bring it right away, Y/N said with an evil grin.
I can divorce you. I have my lawyer on speed-dial, he warned - but she was already gone.
Of course, Y/N just had to join the fun and get in on the torture. He loudly complained but, in truth, he was too happy to see the smiles on the faces of two of his favorite girls as they did his nails.
Starting to miss Dre’s house ? Y/N asked.
Missed you girls too much, he said. I don’t think I could get such an… artsy manicure in California.
Do you like it, Daddy ? Lily asked proudly.
Oh, sure, he said. I never thought my cuticles could use sparkly nail polish all over them, but I was clearly missing out.
You’ll be so pretty for tonight, his daughter said.
Tonight ? He asked.
Your daughters are coming for dinner, Y/N said. I didn’t tell them you’re back, it’ll be a nice surprise. Especially if they see you like this.
No way in hell, he chuckled.
Not even the nails ? Lily asked with puppy eyes. But you said…
Maybe the nails can stay, he sighed.
They spent the rest of the day as a family of three and, just when he thought he had dodged a bullet, Lily begged them to watch Frozen. Again. And just like every parent bullied by the smiles and supplication of their little one, they obliged. Y/N fell asleep on Marshall’s shoulder and Lily sang along to Let It Go while coloring his tattoos with highlighters.
I missed you, Daddy, she said. I’m happy you’re home.
I’m happy to be home, he said. I missed you too, bug.
I’m having fun today, she added.
I’m glad, he chuckled.
In the evening, the whole family was reunited for dinner and no one missed Marshall’s elegant manicure. This brought back memories for Alaina and Hailie, who used to beg him to do his makeup. Being a girl Dad for about thirty years, he’d certainly had his fair share of tea parties and home spa sessions. He absolutely loved having daughters, though, and if that’s what it took to put a smile on their faces, he would happily endure hours of this. However, he wondered what it would be like, having boys in the house. He was absolutely positive the twins were boys - no specific reason, just a gut feeling. Originally, Y/N and him had agreed not to find out the gender before the birth, but he wasn’t too sure how he could be expected to wait for about seven more months. And he couldn’t wait to hit the twelve week mark either, because keeping the pregnancy a secret from the rest of the family was a nightmare. He was just so excited to be a Dad again and he was so proud that the love of his life was carrying his children. She was already a splendid Mom for Lily and he knew it would be the same for the twins. The conversation shifted and someone pronounced the word « delusional ».
What’s that word ? Lily asked.
Delusional ? Hailie said. When someone’s delusional, it means that they believe things that aren’t true.
Oh ok, she said. Like what ?
Like believing in San- Stevie began.
Like Stevie believing she’s getting that new car if she doesn’t pay attention, Marshall scolded with a smile - not wanting Lily to be crushed if she learned Santa wasn’t real.
Oops, she said.
Is Daddy  delusional then ? Lily asked.
Wha- No ? Y/N said confused. Why would he be delusional, baby ?
Because he thinks he’s more famous than Taylor Swift, Lily explained.
You don’t believe me ? He asked, almost offended.
She is really really famous you know ? his daughter explained. You, you’re just Daddy.
Everyone chuckled and stared lovingly at Lily. They all knew how important it was to Marshall that she be shielded from his fame, also because he didn’t want it to get to her head that her Dad was famous. He kissed the top of her head and smiled. He was fine with the title, really. When he was at home with his children, he was just Daddy, and that was more than fine with him. There was nothing more upsetting to him than Eminem getting in the way of his family life. So he was really fine with her not getting the level of things for now, hoping that he wouldn’t have to miss another event anytime soon.
When it was time to put Lily to bed, he went with her downstairs to tuck her in and read her a bedtime story.
Time to sleep, now, baby, he said. Good night.
I had fun today, Daddy, she said softly. And thank you for the flowers.
Am I forgiven ? He asked with a smile.
Yes, she said.
I love you, you know ? He said softly. And, as much as possible, I promise I will not let work get in the way. I always do my best, you know ? Whether it’s for you, Hailie, Lainey, Stevie or the babies…
What babies ? She asked.
He stared at her with a hint of panic, internally facepalming himself. Oops.
Do you know how to keep secrets, baby ?

My heart is yours
Tumblr media
a/n I know this ain't TLOU gif but I had to. Look how this man could hold you. Anyways... happy reading. This just came out of nowhere.
summary: Jackson doesn't seem to kill the fears in Joel's mind, only awaking new kind of doubts. Can you actually be in love with him or is it a hopeless dream that Joel is chasing?
Requested and inspired by my little lilly 🪷
warning: past injuries, hand trauma.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Joel didn't care for any of it. He didn't care about a safe space to live in. He didn't care about what or where he slept. What he ate and if he ate in general. Pills and alcohol were all he needed at night. Even after twenty years, life hadn't been the same. And by that point, Joel simply didn't care. He lived in black and white. There was no in-between. He no longer believed in happiness. No longer strived to make a change. He was simply surviving.
Yet Joel's imagination would paint pictures of a somewhat different world. A handful of pills later, the blanket that laid over his shoulders would turn into a lover's embrace. Where the pillow felt like the soft flesh of the significant other. Joel was thankful when he had no recollections of the night like that. Where there was blank darkness and no evidence that he had been nothing but lonely. Longing. Somewhere deep down, longing to make a change. Most importantly, longing to be loved. Longing for someone to see him. To dust off the pain and make him feel something different.
Then Ellie came along, and you were right beside her. At first, Joel didn't even understand why Marlene wanted him on this job when you were with Ellie. Wild animals were less frenzied than you. Surely getting Ellie to the fireflies was like a walk in the park for you. That was until Joel noticed your trembling hands. The way you rubbed your palms together. How you only stick to knives for self-defense.
You had opened up about your past one night as you both sat under the starry sky, with Ellie fast asleep not far away from you. The cold temperature was extremely brutal for your hands. The ache seemed never-ending. "Do you want these?", Joel broke the silence, taking off his much thicker gloves before handing them to you. You just started at him. Of course, you had talked before. You've been on the road with him for some time now. But it always seemed cold and bitter. If there was one thing Joel was extremely good at, it was making people feel like they were the problem.
You shook your hand, inching towards the fire, moving your palms closer to the flame. Joel gazed at you, letting out a sigh. It was odd considering the type of your communication but he could feel the strange feeling bubbling inside him. The feeling would perk up if he would woke up to you by his side or if your head would fall onto his shoulder as you dozed off while keeping watch. Even when you laughed alongside Ellie, Joel couldn't help that strange sensation in his stomach.
"I would prefer if you took them. I'm not cold anyway", Joel spoke up again. "And I'm not a cripple", "I never said that", you turned to him quickly. Even in the dim light, Joel could see the tears that glossed over your eyes. "Your eyes say enough", you bit back, turning your attention to the flame in front of you. Joel wasn't sure why he was even doing this, but he moved forward, resting his hands on your shoulder. It had been weird between you two. You had kissed a couple of times. And if the first kiss was the aftermath of too much adrenaline after a near-death experience. The second time had no justification. "What happened", Joel said softly, rubbing your shoulders ever so slightly. He had once selfishly examined your hands while you slept. Joel knew that was an invasion of privacy, but his eyes caught onto the scars and his fingers moved without a second thought.
You let out a bitter laugh. "I was a bad girl. I got involved with bad people, and well, bad people do bad things", Joel had seen. Had inspected the scars and permanent discoloration that covered your hands. He wondered what had happened. Wondered who were the people that had done this. Most importantly, he wondered how good it would feel to make them slowly suffer for all that was done to you.
Joel had never done this when you two were fully awake, never fully aware. He pulled you closer to him. Your hands instantly clasped over his arm wrapped around your shoulders. Silent tears fall down your cheeks. Oddly enough, Joel had been a safe space for you. Someone you knew would go that extra mile to make sure that you were safe. "You have nothing to fear now. I've got you. You can count on me, sweet", Joel said, making you let out a silent sob as you held onto him tighter. "What if I fail to protect you though…", you whispered. Joel quickly turned you around in his arms so he could face you. "Didn't seem like a problem when you stabbed that guy in the throat", Joel said, referencing the attack in the store, but you just narrowed your eyes at him. "We have each other, and now that Ellie has a gun, believe me, we are good", you let out a light chuckle while leaning your head against Joel's chest. That was the night you saw a future in him. Leaving you to hope that Joel felt the same way.
Ellie was bubbling through all the stories of today. In all honesty, she was supposed to do her homework while you fished off with dinner, but you didn't have the heart to stop her. Seeing her so full of life was refreshing. You three haven't been in Jackson very long. A month at best, and it still seemed like a dream. Tommy had very kindly landed you a small cottage at the side of the town. They even arranged a little celebration to welcome you, Ellie, and Joel in. Joel of course snarled through most of it.
Holding onto your hips as he zoned in and out. Partly listening to the conversations you were having with people that were around him and partly just trying to ground himself. He hated places like this. There was too much buzz. Joel wasn't used to it. Not to mention the attention that was put on you three. That was way too exhausting. You would occasionally turn to him. Running your fingers through Joel's hair or simply resting your hands on top of his hands that were lazily curled over your middle.
A protective gesture. You called it Joel's circle. He did this often. Even if you two were in the comfort of your new home. His arms would wrap around your middle. The only moving space you had was within Joel's embrace. You knew it was still so hard for him to feel safe. To not fear that something was going to happen. Joel loved running over the worst scenarios. Your broody, grumpy grape. You shifted in his embrace. Your eyes searched his tired ones. "Should we make a grand outing? So that everyone would think that we are going to fuck our night away?", you said casually, making Joel let out a laugh. His bold ray of sunshine. God, that smart mouth of yours drove Joel insane. "Depends on how loud you are willing to moan", you let out a gasp, shoving him slightly, as you got lost in Joel's smile. A rare sight for sore eyes.
Everyone was quick to label you as Joel's girl. It was in a way strange at first because no matter where you went, you were met with the same greeting, but then again, you couldn't blame them. Joel watched you like a hawk. Eyes rarely left you if you were in his sight. Always looking. Always watching. Even here, he was a man who was feared. Well, besides the fact that most females were ready to hook their arms around his neck. You wondered if he ever noticed how they drooled over him. You were hoping that he didn't because if Joel chose any of them over you… Not that you had a say, but your heart would be shattered.
"And then I said that I was done with the project", Ellie continued to chirp, "But I gave you guys credit, don't worry", you let out a laugh at her words. You three had lots of fun building that paper rocket ship. Ellie came home with an assignment to build her dream. Seeing the space was one of them. So you three sat on the living room floor for hours. Small talk lingers. The plate with cookies was nearly empty. "Did you give credit to Joel's back?", you turned to Ellie, and the smirk on her face was outrageous considering that she was still a child. "Got a special mention on the title page", Ellie said sheepishly, and you two fell into fits of laughter just as Joel stepped into the kitchen.
"What are we laughing about?", Joel moved straight to you, planting a gentle kiss on the side of your head. His usual way of greeting you. You closed your eyes at the sensation, savoring the feeling of his lips against your skin. "Honestly?", Ellie asked, and Joel nodded. "How I wrote a special appreciation poem for your back because you helped with the ship", Joel rolled his eyes at that. Ellie took great joy in making fun of his age. But Joel never really cared about it. As long as she was happy, so was he.
Joel noticed the jar in your hands and how your palms flexed as you tried to open it. Without a single word, Joel placed his hands over yours. Pressing ever so slightly as he turned the lid off. You bit your lip. That was another thing that Joel did. If it wasn't necessary, he never took the things you were trying to open away from your hands. He just offered additional strength with his hands. It was his way of making sure that you didn't feel worthless. Joel would notice your struggles; he always did. But he had learned to read your body language and to know when you needed his aid and when it was best to leave you to it alone.
You turned to face him, meeting his eyes with a silent thank you that he answered with yet another kiss to your temple. "Okay, you two are doing that cute shit again", Ellie's voice made you both turn her way. "Don't you look at me like that? Will I have to drag you two to the altar or are you going to do something about it yourself?", she blurted out, making your eyes grow big. "You get back to your homework, miss, 'cause if it's not done before dinner, you're not eating", Joel pointed a warning finger the girl's way, which she graciously met by sticking out her tongue.
A light blush crept up on your cheeks. Alter seemed way out of reach. Well, for now at least. You weren't even sure if you two were together. You assumed you were, but… You had never talked. It was a silent promise. As if you claimed one another without words. Leaving it to the actions. Joel held on to you like you were his lifeline most nights. Face buried in the crook of your neck. Arms pulling you as close to his chest as possible. If nightmares clouded his mind, you would pull him closer to yourself. Gently guiding him to lay down practically on top of you as you brushed your fingers through his salt-and-pepper. hair You loved them. It was almost embarrassing that sometimes you just twirled Joel's curls between your fingers with such admiration. You knew he never found himself beautiful, but in your eyes, he was the most handsome male you had ever laid your eyes on.
"Will you grab the plate, I…", you didn't even have to finish the sentence. Joel was already moving through the kitchen. "How was patrol?", "Nothing new, although the weather is getting better", you hummed at Joel's words. The sun was shining for most of the day today, and you could tell that everyone was in a much more cheerful mood. "How was the meeting with Becky?", Becky was a woman in her eighties. She had worked many years in the medical field, especially with post-trauma treatments. You visited her every other day, and she guided you through different exercises to rebuild the strength of your hands. "It was okay, but as you can see, I can barely hold the spoon," you said as you lifted your trembling head up for Joel to see, but he didn't find much amusement in that. He feared that you pushed yourself too much with this. Stepping closer, Joel took both of your hands into him before pressing them to his lips. "Please wash your hands before you pour my bowl; I don't want Joel's saliva in it", Ellie sassed from the other side of the room. "Ellie", you said with a chuckle, and Joel threw a towel her way, making you both fall into fits of laughter.
Jackson felt like a dream. Like a lucky coin. A four-petal clover. You name it. Yet Joel still couldn't settle his mind. Now more than ever, it felt so clustered. He watched you and Ellie laughing over dinner. The table he also sat at, but did he deserve to be here? Or were you two better on your own? Joel wasn't blind; he saw how people practically melted when you walked through the streets offering everyone a smile. You brought life to an already lively town. Contributing to help anywhere and everywhere. Seeing you shift from this constantly scared girl to a lovely young woman was a huge gift to Joel.
He wanted you to live. To experience happiness and joy. He wanted you to be carefree. To dance your nights away. To be twirled around the dance floor by different males and females. You deserve to live. Something Joel probably couldn't afford to be a part of. Moments when he saw younger males looking your way, talking amongst themselves as they looked you up and down made him both unimaginably angry and jealous. First of all, you weren't an object to be gawked at. You deserved a respectful partner. And second of all, Joel knew if he had met you earlier, when he was full of life, it would have been so different. He would have given you everything. He would be the one twirling you around the dance floor. He would have taken you on dates by the river. Played you different songs on his guitar. Now that side of him was dead. Buried by all the pain. Buried beside Sarah.
"Joel…", after feeling your hand on his, Joel quickly turned your way. Your brows were crushed down. "You haven't touched your food, hun", you said softly. Joel's eyes drifted to the plate in front of him. The tightness in his throat and chest increased. As the thoughts of being only a burden swirled through his brain. Why were you here? Were you simply scared? Scared to explore something more because he was here? Would Ellie be happier if you settled for someone younger? It sure would make a more normal-looking family. Joel quickly stood up, nearly knocking the chair over as he rose. "I'm not hungry; I'm going for a walk", he said coldly as he stepped out of the kitchen. You called his name a couple of times. Joel braced himself against the fence. Hand on the chest as he tried to take in at least a single gulp of air.
You waited for Joel to return almost all night, but he didn't show up. You had wondered if you should go and try to find him, but deep down you knew that your wandering down the street in the night would only add to whatever that was going on with him. You've got Ellie ready for school. Making extra scrambled eggs and scribbling a little note for Joel. You're not alone. You can count on me, it said. A tiny heart by the end of it. Now you could only hope that it wasn't something you had done.
You pupped to help out another elderly lady while you waited for Ellie to be done with her classes. She made the most delicious meat pies and pastries. The delicious smell followed you around the bakery all day. You did as much as your hand allowed you, for the rest compensating with your smile. Already thinking about how you were going to surprise Joel with a pie that you had made yourself. He was a sweet guy deep down. And it had been way too long since you all had a proper pie.
You slipped inside the school just as the last class was finishing. The sight of Ellie nearly leaning out of her chair as she followed every word that the teacher was saying was endearing. She needed this. Needed other kids. Needed to learn. Needed to feel normal. "Y/N, right?", you quickly turned to the side. "Sorry, didn't mean to make you jump", the guy, who wasn't that much older than you, said, rubbing the back of his neck. You've seen him around, but if you were being honest, you had no clue who he was. As if sensing this, the guy quickly said, "Ben, one of Ellie's teachers. We've met at the bar". You smiled at him, "Right, yes, sorry. A lot of new faces still". Your eyes drifted back to Ellie. For some reason, you felt uneasy in his presence.
"So am… You… I'm making such a fool of myself", Ben rambled on, quickly popping into what you assumed was a teacher's room. For a split second, you wondered if you should just walk away, but Ben walked out with a big bouquet of flowers you didn't even know the name of. You raised your eyebrows in surprise. "I was hoping that you would pop in today. Got you those", you knew that you needed to say something but you felt lost for words. No one had ever gotten you flowers and… Ben carefully placed the bouquet in your hands. "You just caught my eye, and I've been wanting to ask you out. I know this is super straightforward", you shook your head, "I… they are beautiful, thank you, but… I." A part of you was screaming that this was wrong. You wanted to tell him that you were with Joel. But were you with Joel? Your head felt like it was spinning, but you just didn't feel it. It didn't feel the same. Didn't feel like it did with Joel.
"Look… I'm sure you are a really sweet guy, but I'm in a… Well, I like someone else, and I just", your voice sounded so small. You hated that you weren't confident. Ben gave an awkward nod, "Right, the big guy. I should have guessed", "I'm sorry; I'm sure there's a sweet girl out there for you. Thank you for… well, for the flowers though. Unless you want to keep them". You pushed the bouquet towards him, but he only shook his head and said, "Keep them, and I hope we can still get to know each other. Like friends, of course", you smiled at him right as the door opened and kids spilled out of the classroom.
"So, wait, he just did like… Did he kiss you?", Ellie hadn't stopped talking ever since you left the building. To her, this was the most hilarious thing ever, while you still tried to process it all. "Of course not. I would have never let him do that", you said. "Do you reckon he fantasizes about you?", you glared at her quickly. Ellie only lifted her hands in defiance.
"A pie and flowers. Are we celebrating something?", you didn't even realize that you were standing in front of the cottage with Joel leaning against the open door. You opened your mouth, but Ellie beat you to it: "Ben got Y/N flowers; bet he is like in love with her", she said as she wiggled her eyebrows at Joel. You knew this was innocent. You knew she didn't understand what was going on between you two. So you couldn't blame her, but you wished she hadn't said it like that. Joel's jaw clenched. Anger washed over him. He turned away from you moving to the back patio.
Joel knew who Ben was. Most importantly, Joel saw the way Ben looked at you. That guy was a good bit younger than him. Broad shoulders, piercing eyes. Desire burned inside him. Ben wanted you and Joel could see it. Did you want him as well? "Joel, wait, Joel,", he heard your pleading voice as he rushed down the little stairs, moving to the backside garden. "Go back to your boyfriend", Joel snarled through gritted teeth. "Ben is just Ellie's teacher. I didn't even…", Joel turned to you quickly, "Who gives you flowers", "Well, maybe he's just being sweet", you knew that you both knew that that was bullshit. And honestly, now you wondered if downplaying it would only make it worse.
"Maybe he just likes you", Joel spat back, frustration dripping off him. "Do you seriously don't see it? That fuck had a big old crush on you ever since you came here". Those words, however, did take you by surprise because you didn't see it. You never acknowledged Ben's presence. You didn't care what Ben was doing. You never looked for it. "Well, I didn't see it, no", Joel gave you a look that clearly showed you that he didn't believe you. "Oh, come on. I've never had a man show me attention before you; how am I supposed to know?", you asked, raising your hand in frustration. Growling as Joel turned and started to walk again. "Joel, stop fucking walking or I'll throw the fucking flowers at you!", you shouted as your frustration laced through you. Joel stopped in his tracks.
"Do you seriously feel like he's my type?", you approached the man in front of you slowly, dropping the flowers to the side as you walked. "Joel", "I don't know", he muttered under his breath. He wasn't good at this thing. He wasn't good with his emotions. But the fear of losing you crippled him. "Well, my type is anything but that. I like my man mature like wine or cheese", you said, moving to cup Joel's cheeks. "Come on, turn the frown upside down", you encouraged him slowly, but Joel only shifted his eyes to you. Piercing through your soul.
"Listen to me, you stubborn hulk. This", you took a hold of his hand, pulling it up and pressing it over your heart, "Beats for you. I picked you a long time ago. And if you think some thirty-something dickhead can come in and swoop me away", you shook your head. "Yeah, have more faith in yourself, especially when all of Jackson's females have an orgasm when you walk by", you sassed. "No, they don't", Joel argued, but you only crooked your head to the side, raising an eyebrow.
"Did you mean it?", Joel asked, arms now sneaking to hold onto your hips, "That my heart is yours? With my whole life", you smiled up at him. Joel leaned in. A breath hitched in your throat as he erased the last bit of distance between you two and your lips met his. You felt like you had blacked out for a moment as all the fireworks started to explode from within you. You held on to Joel for dear life as he pressed you closer to his body. His other hand cupped your cheek. It was desperate. Needy. Long overdue, and you couldn't suppress the giggle that fell from your lips as you two finally parted. Hiding your face in Joel's chest.
You could feel how fast his own heart was beating. Smiling to yourself that it was you who had such an effect on him, "I love you", he whispered. Barely audible but more than enough for you to step on your tiptoes and kiss him again. "I'm in a daring mood to let the whole of Jackson know that I am yours", you mumbled after a while in Joel's embrace. "Pick your words carefully, baby girl,", Joel warned, but you only smirked back at him. Before pulling the devilish smile, "Want to fuck me against the electricity pole?", Joel let out a surprised laugh before shaking his head at you. Scooping you up in his arms quickly, making you let out a scream followed by fits of giggles as he carried you back into the cottage.
