And I think that's maybe what the OP is keying in on? To boil various "outsider" lines ALL down to an allegory to queerness is super boring and usually brought on by queers that live in a more comfortably narrow walk of life/health point/class rank, or at least that's what I think. Take it with a grain of salt.
