ugh stobin arranged marriage au........

The Harringtons are a wealthy family and they only have one son, Steve, whose terrible luck with ladies is talked about far and wide. He's a charming, good-looking, athletic boy, so many people think the reason he can't keep a suitor for more than a week must be some terrible awful secret, some insurmountable personal failing.

The ladies assure everyone they meet that no, Steve is quite pleasant to be around. He's attentive, diplomatic, polite, and always respectful. But... that's all he is. There's interest but no passion, friendliness without warmth, smiles that don't touch his eyes. He's not much more than a puppet pretending to be a real boy. And while that may please the fathers of potential suitors (and Mr. Harrington), all of Steve's failed arrangements felt they deserved a little more from their spouse. And Steve, ever so pleasant, normally agreed.

The Buckleys are really their last resort. Word has it that their daughter has been struggling to keep an arrangement herself; it probably has something to do with that nasty independent streak they'd heard so much about, not to mention the number of political incidents she'd almost caused by forgetting basic court etiquette.

The Harringtons are desperate enough to reach out, and the Buckleys, more than a little strapped for cash, are desperate enough to agree.

Steve, terrified of what his parents might do if this thing doesn't work out, is determined to make this relationship the one that sticks. Robin, on the other hand, swears that the ever-pleasant Steve Harrington must be hiding something, something big enough to scare off nearly a dozen women from a life of luxury.

And she's going to be the one who finally exposes him.

Obviously they become best friends and get lavender married etc. etc.

i tried to make a comic before and I got too preoccupied w backgrounds and colours and drawing in my painterly style and never finished it. this is attempt no. 2

A couple wips lately

It's cold, but the wind on your skin barely registers. Sitting in the birds nest, watching over the dark Seas, you sat silently, arms wrapped around your legs as your eyes moved to spot any incoming land.

While the log pose was already locked on the next island, you accepted that it was your turn to keep watch and ignored everyone's confused stares as you made your way from the long dinner tables to head upstairs.

This was the first time since joining the crew that you hadn't thrown a mini fit over having watch duty.

"Yo."

You flinched at the sudden voice, looking up at your towering Captain with wide eyes.

"... yo."

It never ceased to amaze you how silent the man could be when he wanted to.

Kid frowned deeply, looking down at you with an unreadable look for a few moments. You shuffled slightly, letting your legs fall into a crossed position with your hands rested in your lap. It was quiet for a while until you finally asked,

"Everything okay, boss?"

Eustass gave a low "Tsk," at your question, debating on giving you an answer but decided against it, his mouth snapping shut instead. You pursed your lips to the side, still looking up at him.

"... Red?"

His eyes softened at the nickname, giving a deep sigh through his nose before settling behind you, pulling you into his lap. His flesh arm wrapped tightly around you while his metal one pulled his heavy cloak around you for warmth.

"... you're freezing."

You simply hummed in response, letting your eyes close for a moment as you settled into him.

"You know you can talk to me, right?"

A soft grin washed over your face as your replied tiredly,

"I know, Red."

His arms tightened around you for a moment his lips pressing a kiss to the crown of your head.

"Good. Don't fucking forget that."

You titled your head back to press a few butterfly kisses to his jawline before letting your forehead rest against the side of his throat, one hand resting over his chest as you barely got out,

"I won't."
