I've heard people talking about how Ingo should be sent back to the future or Emmet should be sent to the past but I think the funniest option is that Ingo keeps showing up in every single Legends game without any explanation or context

So, fun fact! The setting of Pokémon Legends Arceus is most likely set during the equivalent of the Meiji Restoration during the mid 19th century, roughly a year or two before Hisui is renamed to Sinnoh. Firstly, this means that yes, there are trains in this period! The lingo might not be there for the Galaxy team to understand Ingo, but steam trains were made in the early 19th century. (Have fun #submas people) But the main reason I bring this up is due to the timeframe. Pokéballs had (supposedly) recently been invented - this pretty much puts a limit on how far back a Pokémon Legends game could be set without making a contradiction, this limit being...lets be generous and say 1850. While that does limit what could be done (at least, when looking at setting a Legends story in the past), there’s still plenty of settings that could be made: - A Victorian style Galar is still possible, with said era lasting from 1837 to 1901 - We don’t know which region Kamado and Beni came from, but it could reasonably be the Johto region. If so, we can explore the near immediate aftermath of their village having burned down. Furthermore, presuming the events of Gold and Silver happen around 2000, that means that a Legends in Johto would have quite a large focus on the Legendary Beasts - the Burned Tower burned down 150 years prior to the events of the Johto games, which would happen to line up with our estimate of 1850. - Unova is harder because, while it alone represents America in the Pokémon World (for now), it is only the equivalent of New York City (as well as parts of New York and New Jersey), so a Wild West setting while being cool wouldn’t really fit that well.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the minimum year of 1850 has to be a set limit - alternate timelines do exist within the Pokémon universe/multiverse, so in one Pokéballs may have been invented earlier, and in some they may have also been invented later. You can also just set it in the future. Can’t contradict with the known future if there is none.
