sorry just been seeing a weird backlash against academics from leftists too like was the right-wing backlash not enough lol. i'm not sure when professors became a ideologically homogeneous group intent on upholding """cultural hegemony""" for either political side. like sorry but nobody reads academic monographs except for other college students/faculty omg ......... and whatever influence they actually have in the classroom is probably overstated

#also from experience. most college students don't read academic monographs either #like literally most students don't do the fucking readings it's goddamn exhausting #as a TA they literally don't do the work but i am FORCED to give them As and Bs and summarize the material for them #because if these lazy rich and middle class kids don't get their degrees it looks BAD for the uni #like criticize academia all you want but frankly the administration and class barrier system in place is the problem. it is Not professors #who are barely making a living wage and fighting over the 3 tenure track positions in the country at any given minute
