anyway in the past week the irish government has voted down two motions which would have condemned the genocide in gaza.

i need everyone to stop lionising ireland as if its not also a european government with strong ties to the us. american weapons pass through shannon airport and will continue to, because yesterday the motion to stop that was voted down 83 to 50.

other governments have done much more but somehow people still act as though ireland is the ultimate palestinian ally and exempt from criticism on its handling of palestine bc it was once colonised, even though that past experience clearly isnt being taken into account by the irish government when creating policy.

i live here i know there’s a lot of public support and sympathy for palestine, which is great, but that isnt reflected in government, and i think ireland should be treated like other countries whose governments have done nothing.

A Linked Universe meets The Dark Crystal AU! I don't even remember what started it at this point. I remembered that the Dark Crystal and Age of Resistance are things I like, blinked, and woke up three days later with an AU and a bunch of art.

The designs and the story are a wip and for fun so expect a lot of variation! (I have a few different beginnings, ideas for different designs, etc)! :D

Yuma Uchida be voicing every single gay depressed/angry character and serves every single time, I remember his voice as Ash Lynx's and when I try to watch another BL and I hear his voice I get flashbacks but I try my best and now he voices Hisashi in Twilight out of Focus (which is the only reason I read it and watched the episode) and the resemblence is crazyyy 😭😭😭 they didnt need to look exactly like Ash and Eiji but I'm thankful they did 'cause now we can be delulu and say they got their happy ending in another life

Okay so setting aside the already returning characters from the previous games, including the literal playable character, I would in fact, hope my video game I am playing would in fact, be about the protagonist. I would also in fact, hope the interactive media I am consuming would respond to my inputs, dare I say it, choices as well. I believe in fact it is fair to expect this, these are not selling points or highlights to be praised to high heaven. It is something that is part of video games overall, and especially RPGs.

What made Bioware standout, and became a literal staple of their two flagship franchises, is not only did these choices matter, but it would carry over into the next one. I get it's been a number of years out since both Mass Effect and Dragon Age's latest entries, but this wasn't some gimmick it was a core mechanic! This is what they were built on! This was a selling point! This was a highlight! This was something video games did not do prior, and still really don't! Like you cannot sit there and say it's fine they don't do this, when this is literally what the franchise was marketed as!!!

Hawke and The Inquisitor's stories were not hampered or cheapened by being tied to what came before, it added to their stories, and the overall world, to literally have anchors to the world as both characters and to players. The world was lived in, the previous cast didn't simply vanish they are still running around, still changing, still existing, and you, as the player, got to engage with that. This is what was magical to me, and many, many others as well.

It's not even stagnating the franchise, it's actively regressive at this point. I don't think we'll see the impact for this game, but if there is another I'm sure it'll be seen then.
