Do you currently use scooters in public? Do you feel embarrassed about it?
sometimes, but usually only when i know there's gonna be a lot of walking involved! used one in vegas, at the state fair, and zooming around disneyworld! at first i was super embarrassed but the convenience of not being all sweaty and tired and having to stop to sit down a lot is super worth it. + i can keep all my snacks in the basket!!!
#when i went to epcot they were having a world food fair and i went to every country and got a lil tasting tray#so i can appreciate the novelty of a fat woman zooming around on a scooter precariously balancing 5 trays of food#but i do go 😬😬😬 when it makes the loud backing up beep#ask

"I got us matching shirts!" for PeterPatterLina because they would
When the three of them decided to go on their first official vacation as a throuple, Julie asked the boys where they wanted to go.
"I don't want to have to get a passport, so can we stay stateside?' Luke asked.
"You know we have a tour coming up right? Where we are going to Canada?" Julie reminded him.
"I have dual citizenship," Luke replied smugly. "I'll worry about it when we have to go to Europe. Or Puerto Rico to meet your extended family."
"That's fair," Julie said with a shrug. "Where do you wanna go Reggie?"
"I-I've never really been on a vacation," Reggie said meekly. "We always just went back to MeeMaw's ranch when I was growing up, we didn't have the money for more."
Luke and Julie pulled him into an embrace at that, holding him tight. They were well aware of Reggie's family circumstances; the poverty, the fighting, the abuse. How he got emancipated to make it all stop and came to live with Tia Victoria to keep a roof over his head until the three of them got together and had a home of their own.
Thus they made it their mission to remind him every day how loved and valued he was.
"Well where is somewhere you always wanted to go as a kid?" Luke finally asked.
"Or someplace you want to go now," Julie continued. "You pick, and we see if it something that works for all three of us."
"Disney?" Reggie finally suggested. "Florida or California, I'm not picky."
"Or we're definitely going to Florida," Luke said. "We can go to Disneyland any day, bu Disney World is where it's at. We went when I was really small, but now they have all the new worlds and tie in franchises."
"I've never been to Disney World," Julie replied. "So I'd love the first time I visit to be with you two."
Reggie beamed. "Alrighty then, Florida here we come!"
It took a few weeks to arrange everything, but less than a month later, they were in Orlando, up early to head out to the Magic Kingdom. Julie was nursing her coffee as Luke towelled his hair dry and Reggie munched on an apple. "Oh, I have something for you two," he said, digging into his suitcase. He pulled out shirts, tossing them each one, and unveiling them. "I got us matching shirts!"
The shirts had an image of Cinderella's castle, with Disney World and the year written underneath. Julie's was in a metallic purple, Luke's was a dark blue, and Reggie's a bright red.
"These are sick!" luke exclaimed. "I promise I won't cut the arms off of it."
"I made a cut off version too for when we hit Epcot," Reggie beamed. "And tanks for me and Julie."
"That's so sweet cariño," Julie said, pecking his cheek. "That's so thoughtful. Let's get them on, and get to the park, I wanna get ears and Fast Passes for a bunch of rides."
"I want a Mickey pretzel," Luke said. "And a Dole whip."
"We just had breakfast!" Julie argued.
Luke shrugged. "I think food rules don't apply here. Plus I'll share."
"You'd better," Julie muttered. "Reggie, anything in particular you want to do?"
"Ummm Star Wars area of course," Reggie replied. "And I want to meet as many face characters as I can. But I really want to go on the Jungle Cruise ride-because I want to see if the puns are really as bad as they say."
Julie rolled her eyes fondly. "Of course you do. Alright then boys, suit up!"
They all put on the shirts-which were super soft, comfortable, and breathable, and set off. By the end of the day they were tired, hot, and worn out. But they had a on of food in their tummies, a bunch of photos of their day, and most importantly of all-a lifetime of memories.
Plus a vow to come back every year they could, just to experience the magic all over again. Plus it gave Reggie the chance to give their kids the vacation he always wanted.
Complete with matching family shirts.

My ideas for Zootopia 2
Ah, Zootopia. It broke the record for the biggest opening weekend for an animated film, went on to be Disney Animation’s third most profitable film ever, became the second highest grossing original film of all time, and was nominated for and won innumerable awards including many for best animated picture, and rightfully so. It introduced us to a beautiful, creative, and lovable world populated by amazing characters, and had a poignant message that was conveyed, in my humble opinion, in the best possible way. I liked it a lot when it first came out, but after recently getting into stuff with a similar concept (Beastars), and being subsequently recommended various fan content on YT (Savage Company, Return to Zootopia), I got back into the film again and absolutely fell in love with it to the point that it’s joined my top three films alongside Coco, and The Land Before Time.
Which is why I am really, really craving a followup of some kind.
Seriously, of all of Disney Animation’s recent films (or heck, films in general), I feel like this one has the greatest potential for a sequel. The setting oozes creativity from its every pore, has so many nooks and crannies that we didn’t manage to explore in the film, its two main leads were perfect and I really feel still have plenty of room to grow, and there are still so many ideas old and new that can be explored. So far we’ve received a few tie-in books, a hidden object game which is no longer available, a few comics, including a series about stories from Nick and Judy’s childhoods, a very large and intricate land expansion under construction in Shanghai Disneyland and a game starring Nick and Judy in Epcot, and a Disney+ original series focusing on various characters from around the city. All of these are fantastic, but four years after the film’s release, we’ve received no official confirmation of a proper continuation to Nick and Judy’s story like a sequel or TV series, just a few rumors here and there.
We’ll get some kind of proper followup eventually, that’s for sure, but what could it do? What kinds of places could they take us to? What ideas could it explore? What could happen to our leads, and what kinds of new characters could they befriend or combat? Well, I’m gonna give my ideas right here; buckle up, because I have a lot.
The City
Let me start off with the City itself. I mean… It’s marvelous. The architecture, like the Oasis Casino, central station, first precinct, the various neighborhoods. The accommodations like the sprinklers, water tubes, Little Rodentia, and the climate wall! The city of Zootopia is a star in and of itself with just how much care, attention, and creativity was put into its every crevice, and we barely got to see half of what it has to offer, as we only got a proper look at five of its twelve districts. They’ve revealed a few other districts via some maps and books (Meadowlands, Outback Island, Canal District) but there are a bunch of others yet to be revealed, and plenty unexplored.
Let’s start with what could be done with the ones already revealed. The Canal District could accommodate the city’s highly aquatic residents like hippos, otters, muskrats, beavers and manatees, and also be one of the city’s primary trade hubs. In terms of layout, it could be like Venice meets the Mekong Delta on steroids where the citizens live and make their living either in boats, or in buildings whose entrances are right on the water. There could be some walkways for less aquatic animals, but most of the transportation is through the water; either via swimming, or via motorboats, riverboats, jet skis, and ferries. And indeed, this is possibly what they had in mind judging by the concept art of the canals. I hope to see them implement something like this in the future; this stuff is just insanely cool! In terms of infrastructure, alongside the various docks and warehouses, I’m thinking that it could be a place for aquaculture where all manner of freshwater seafood are raised, as well as plenty of touristy stuff like river cruises. Maybe we could have a boat chase here, or perhaps just a relaxing moment between our leads, or maybe both.
The meadowlands would be a place for more temperate grazers like sheep, horses, bison, and various kinds of deer. It could be akin to a massive park district with plenty of recreation and places to enjoy a bit of fresh air, and its buildings could possibly be like hobbit holes and built into the hills. I’m thinking it could also be a place with a lot of mills to process both food and textiles, and its overall atmosphere could be quite agricultural and country while being in the middle of a city and not having much in the way of crops.
Now on to potential districts
Credit to @florenze
The one that I and many others have thought of the most is a nocturnal cave district. This would be located beneath the rest of the city, and would, of course, have little to no light in order to accommodate its main inhabitants such as moles, mole rats, and bats. This place could have homes on the ceiling and walls for the bats, with various cranes and elevators for the non-bats to get around both to visit, and do maintenance. I imagine bat homes could be quite atypical compared to other species since they’d likely sleep upside down and crawl on walls a fair bit, and if they need to get anywhere they can just fly, so much like the canals, they might not have much in the way of front yards and instead just have elevators and sheer drops on their front doors. Likewise, the less residential buildings could have entrances at higher floors for the bats as well. Entrances to the district could be drive-in cave mouths, as well as big openings for the bats to just fly straight out of to see the other districts at night.
As an opposite to that, I was thinking that a central mountain district would also be cool to see. This would accommodate mountain sheep and goats, takins, pikas, llamas, as well as snow leopards, brown bears, and other mammals who like high and rocky locales. This place could be even more vertical than the cave district, and require either elevators, stairways, or surefootedness to get around, as well as perhaps some oxygen tanks depending on how high it goes. Therefore, cars would be nowhere to be seen, and if anyone wants to get in, they’ll need to park outside, or better yet just take public transportation to allow room for residents’ vehicles. Buildings could possibly be carved out from the stone, and the overall atmosphere could be a mix of the Himalayas and the Andes, and also a bit of the Rockies and Urals.
Regardless of what districts they show us, I would like to see a few more angles to the city than just a bright and clean middle class. Show off its dirty underbelly too, and I don’t just mean more of the street hustlers and thieves like Nick, Finnick, and Weaselton. The first film did an excellent job of showing us that Zootopia wasn’t some perfect society with its discrimination and criminals, and while we did get a nice glimpse of its dirtier side, I want to see more of the run down neighborhoods and their residents. Heck, maybe make poverty an aspect of the plot and a motivator for the villain. Although, they also could also easily cover it with Nick due to the fact that his family was struggling back in the day. Alongside that, I’d like to see high society too, especially the oasis casino that they really wanted to show off, but couldn't find a way to. Show us just how both lavish and run down this city can be.
New Characters
Of all the things I love the film for, its characters and their arcs are probably the biggest things, especially those of the leads. This film has a very diverse cast from a big old cape buffalo to a tiny little fennec fox, and they’re all quite memorable and fun. Now I know what some of you are thinking, “why are you covering new characters before the old ones”? Mostly because I have fewer ideas, but also because the ideas I have for some of the old characters are quite big.
Firstly, I’d like to talk about Nick’s family, starting with his mother. Yes, Mrs. Wilde is already an established character, but I’m still putting her in here since I want to talk about Nick’s family in the same section, and she’s gotten very little characterization; heck, we don't even know her name. She seems like a very nice and supportive vixen from what we saw from the flashback, there was a tweet from Rich Moore that we can infer a fair bit from, and the end of a comic that showed her being a very nice mother and a massive fan of a rock band made of rabbits. Nick is seemingly an only child since no siblings are mentioned anywhere, and they certainly seemed to be financially struggling at some point since he said that his mom “scraped up” the money for the scout uniform, and in the comics he was always extremely short on money and didn’t even have an allowance. Rich referring to her as “Mrs. Wilde” as opposed to “Ms. Wilde” shows that she was/is married and that the husband was probably Nick’s father. The last line of the tweet highly indicates that she and Nick are in contact and on speaking terms (although it really begs the question of where she was during his graduation as there’s not a fox in sight (although there were plenty of seats out of sight and obscured)), and also potentially hints at, uh… Things we’ll get to later. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything more about her. Did she know about Nick’s bad behavior? Did Nick even tell her about the incident with the scouts? Was she ever estranged from him? I’d like for it to be talked about, preferably with her present. I don’t want her to just show up in a call or something, I want her to actually have a scene with her son, and I’d love for her to meet Judy as well.
At least we know a thing or two about her, but we don’t know a thing about Nick’s father that has been confirmed. In one of the original cuts of the film, Mr. Wilde was a tailor who wanted to start up a company with his son called Wilde and Son’s Suitopia and give his kit the best future he could possibly have. Unfortunately, after many attempts at getting a loan to start it up, Nick tried to stop some lemming bankers from denying their loan by trying to grab the stamp from them, was spotted by a guard, and was forcibly and permanently separated from his dad because the city in that cut was was a horrible place full of horrible prey who thought that predators were nothing but horrible monsters ready to blow at any time to the point that they were forced to wear shock collars that would zap them whenever they got even remotely excited. Seriously, screw this setting, it made Beastars look like a freaking paradise. Anyway, back on track. Nick only mentions his mom, so where is his dad? Again, a fair bit can be inferred from the sources on his mother. The simple fact that he wasn’t mentioned in the flashback or the comics seems to indicate that he was out of their lives at that point in Nick’s childhood. Go figure, fans have gone nuts with the possibilities. I’ve seen depictions of him ranging from dead, to estranged, to a genuinely good dad who’s back in their lives now, and a psychotic criminal mastermind who wants Nick to be his heir… Yeah. Out of all those depictions, the loving father one is my favorite. Sure, Rich didn’t mention him in the tweet, but that could have been a simple omission since the question was about Mrs. Wilde. I’ll be honest, my perfect version of this idea is from the fan comic It Should Have Been Me, in which which his backstory and character is almost exactly what it was in the original cut: he was a fabric worker who moved to Zootopia with his wife and son in order to make it big on a tailor business, as he strongly believed in the ideals of the city and wanted to show Nick what a fox could become. He was repeatedly denied a loan, and eventually his obsession with making the business made his wife leave with Nick. After some time, he finally realized that being a role model was not the same as being a father and returned to them. I adore this interpretation for how it shows a family that struggled to stay together for reasons mostly within their control, but still managed to, and are now seemingly happier than ever, something I can’t recall seeing at all in any of Disney Animation’s films (if you know any examples, please list them), and also the fact that Mr. Wilde is a great, likable, and kind of complex character here who is a good man who just messed up as opposed to a simple deadbeat dad I've often seen him depicted as. I want to see something like this out of his father in an official follow-up, but even if he is still separated from his wife, I’d like to see him, and if he’s dead, still give us something; I want to know who this guy is and where he is now, and if there’s anyone else in the Wilde family, I’d love to meet them too, and I want to know how they feel about Nick turning his life around and bucking expectations and stereotypes. His mother is probably exceedingly proud of him, and his dad probably is too if my preferred version is used. Either way, give us a lovely father, mother and son scene (or just mother and son scene, because you know, she’s the only one confirmed to still be around).
On to the villain! The villain should be as opposite to Bellwether as possible; big, male, predator, and not trying to fool anyone into believing that he’s not the mastermind behind anything. We’ll know, at least partially, who this guy is from the moment he’s introduced and what his motivations are early on. Unlike Bellwether, we’ll dive into his character more and more as the film goes on and see what makes him tick. So, what could he want? The idea I’ve conjured up was that he could be a segregationist extremist who sees the founding principles of Zootopia as foolish, believes that this all mammal society is unsustainable, and that all species should completely separate from each other. Perhaps he just wants to get back at the city that he believes wronged him and/or his kind, or perhaps he wants to go back to the wild square one where it’s every species for themselves, and perhaps he thinks that will genuinely be better for everyone. Regardless, I think that this idea would be an interesting continuation of the first film’s ideas of prejudice and living in peace with your neighbor, where this villain would want to bring down the city because he hates prejudice, wants to bring down what he sees as a hypocritical city, and wants mammals to be better off by being separate and under harm. Also, unlike Bellwether who was a power hungry sociopath, this guy will be far more genuine in his pursuit and see himself as a liberator. But as I said, he could very well just be using it all as an excuse for petty vengeance and lashing out at the world in a spiteful rage.
Despite what I said before, I do think that there should be an air of mystery around him. Since he’ll see himself as a demagogue for all animal’s “liberation”, he could conceal himself in shadows during his broadcasts, and also cover himself from head to toe in feature hiding clothes such as a helmet/mask, and specially designed gloves and shoes that hide what his hands and feet look like in order to not show off what species he is. Basically, he could be a twist on the twist villain; he’ll be all mysterious and some could think that he may be a character that we’ve met, but in reality he’s the same character we’ve known all along. As for what species he could be, I was thinking that he could be a less looked at member of a well known family of animals. My best bet would be a smaller and less predatory species of bear like an American black bear, sloth bear, or a sun bear since we saw so many brown and polar bears in the film, and while he’d be small by bear standards, he’d still be quite large, and heck, maybe they could make him particularly large and scary for his species of bear. Also, since he would be a kind of bear whose protein historically consisted entirely of insects (especially in the case of the latter two), he could have extra reason to be angry with society since his kind never wronged prey (although again not quite the case with American black bears since they will sometimes eat fawns and even fully grown deer), but yet he was lumped in with the brown and polar bears. Of the three species I listed, I think the sloth bear would work the best since their protein entirely consists of insects, but, despite their small size and goofy appearance, they’re one of the most aggressive species of bear and have been known to charge at elephants and rhinos at the drop of a hat, and this could play into his characterization as bear Kratos. I think there could be some hints to his species throughout the story, despite how well he may try to hide it. For instance, American black bears when scared tend to do things such as pulsing and clapping their jaws together, while the south Asian bears tend to rear up and stretch their chests out to expose their white stripe. Perhaps he could unconsciously do things like that when particularly agitated or under pressure.
What exactly could make him want all of this? I was thinking that much like our favorite fox cop, he could have experienced much discrimination throughout his life, only far worse, and been downright spiteful instead of rolling with the punches like Nick did. And again, it could have been more pronounced on him since the discrimination was due to “Sins of the cousins” and his kind had nothing to do with any of what they accused him of. A tipping point could have been the Night Howler Crisis, which could have either personally affected him, or just confirmed his beliefs and made him want to go through with his plans to try and tear Zootopia down, and now, about a year or so after that Crisis, his plans can finally go into motion. As for how he’ll go about things, well, he’d go for the hearts, minds and the infrastructure of the city. Perhaps he could broadcast all over to spread his propaganda and instill doubts in in the population (notably in his fellow preds by reminding them what happened not long ago), and also strike fear in those who oppose him. Other than that, he’ll of course go straight for the city’s infrastructure via sabotage and kidnappings. One victim could be the mayor, who this time could actually be a good person and politician, or, as one official comic showed, Lionheart again… Was this an error, or was he seriously canonically reinstated after the shady crap he got up to!?
Anyway, expanding on the idea of the concealing outfit, I’m thinking that his followers (who I’ll just call The Cell for now) could do the same thing with tail hiders, stilts, and padding which would be especially effective for bigger animals to possibly lean over and look like something shorter and fatter in order to make themselves appear roughly the same as to make themselves not see each other as another species for the duration of this insane operation (it also has the added effect of making them harder to differentiate and track). This will eventually be their downfall for reasons you may have surmised, but I’ll explain that later.
Speaking of more villainous characters, I'd like to see a bit more of the criminal syndicates and mobs throughout the city. I'd like to learn who rules what parts of the city, how far their reach goes, and how they operate. Although, we’ll probably only get a glimpse in the film, but we could see the criminal organizations focused on more in a TV series or official comic book, because I think a film would be about a much larger and complex threat that could change the city and characters as we know them.
What about more heroic characters? Well, perhaps we could see the return of concepts from the original pitch of the film like secret agents. Considering that the villain’s plot could be citywide and insidious, I think it would make sense. It could be cool to see conceptual characters such as Skye developed and implemented, and have them helping our leads with the case (or perhaps they could just be a cameo in a movie theater, I dunno, they had a billion other ideas when conceptualizing). I’d like to see her come back because she seemed like quite an interesting concept of a mechanic and badass secret agent (Also, look at that concept art; she's flipping adorable). Perhaps she could be undercover in The Cell, and Nick and Judy could meet her after being ambushed by them. As they’re driving away, Nick gets shot in the shoulder with a dart, but when they reach safety, he realizes that he’s fine. He pulls the dart out and finds that it’s hollow and clear and has a note inside it. They read the note and it includes an apology and directions to a garage in the meadowlands. Later they go to the address and find a light tan fox working on a car. She introduces herself, apologizes further to Nick for shooting him, and then brings them into a safehouse where she gives them vital info on The Cell, and gives them a number to call her at and a few special signals and monikers to help out.
If I were to describe the character I imagine her having, it would be extremely enthusiastic, friendly, and possibly coming off as a little childish, but also intelligent, savvy, and consummately professional and well trained. Basically, a quintessential bunny ears lawyer.
Some people have wanted her to have some kind of past affiliation with Nick, but I’m not sure. I mean, it would be interesting and a good callback to the cut where she was his sidekick, but in this version him knowing someone who just so happens to also be a secret agent would seem a little odd. Then again, he knows everybody. Maybe she’s that mysterious Lady Friend mentioned by Finnick…? (she is a mechanic after all, and he loves his van).
Other than that, I’d love to see the ZPD itself expanded and characterized a heck of a lot more. Maybe we could actually get to know Nick and Judy’s fellow officers like McHorn, Pennington, and Wolfard, and finally see some actual detectives as opposed to just patrolmen, and also get to see the city’s other precincts. I’d love to see the folks at first precinct all working with and respecting our leads, and for all of their strengths to be shown to the max. As in, I want to see them in full SWAT gear conducting a raid; Bogo and the big boys breaching doors, the wolves and cats on marksman duty, and Nick and Judy doing infiltration.
Returning Characters
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite tiny fox, shall we? Finnick wasn’t in the film all that much and only said a total of 37 words (yes I counted), but despite this, he still left a shockingly large impact on audiences for his in your face attitude and vocal dissonance of being a little fennec fox played by a giant former pro wrestler, Tommy Lister Jr (may he rest in peace). And honestly, I flipping adored him too. The creators also liked him a lot and have featured him extensively in newer material such as Zootopia Crime Files, which had him heavily involved in a case and really managed to flesh out his character and specify what his relationship with Nick was like (which is to say, they are genuinely friends), and he even appears as a playable character in Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, and they have said that they wanted to feature him more in a sequel. So what could he do in a follow up? I’m thinking that he could become a major supporting character. I’d like to see him having some genuine friendly times and conversations with Nick and Judy such as going out to eat with them, and also get them out of some scrapes; perhaps by going nuts on a perp that’s threatening them and/or driving them out of a sticky situation. Perhaps he could also help the investigation by acting like an informant or mole (but as I said, in this cut that could already be taken by someone else). Or perhaps he’s gone or will go relatively straight and operate a totally legitimate ice cream shop instead of running a complex hustle. Perhaps he could also act as a shippe- again something we’ll get to later. I’d also like to learn more about him as a person; did he get into the hustling life because of some kind of discrimination like Nick, or is he just a roughhouser who genuinely likes what he does and wouldn’t have it any other way? Who’s this lady friend he mentions? Does he harbor any resentment for Nick for getting off the street and into the force? Obviously it’s not too strong if he’s still giving him Pawpcicles and interacting with him in a cordial way, but is there any there? I’d really like to see. Also, what's his real name? The directors said that Finnick isn't his real name, so what is it? Maybe tell us, maybe don't. As for who could replace Zeus, I’m thinking Kevin Michael Richardson. Whoever they get, I hope he does him justice.
Leave Bellwether out of this; she's served her purpose.
I wouldn’t be mad at seeing Mr. Big return, but I don’t really have any ideas for him. That said, I think that Fru-Fru could be a nice inclusion as a good friend of Judy. Perhaps Judy could hang out with her and do a few things like a little bit of Godmothering for the little shrew bearing her name.
Flash… If he shows up at all, make it a minor appearance, maybe even a cameo.
Bogo was technically the tritagonist of the last film, and I’d like him to remain in a prominent role. I loved his character and evolution in the last film; he starts off barely giving Judy the time of day and repeatedly gets really pissed off at her antics, and also blows off Nick on the simple basis of him being a fox. But he’s an extremely principled and just fellow, and in my opinion, an example of what a good police chief should be, especially since he gets over his prejudices and comes to respect our leads as much as his other officers (which is to say, a LOT). And it’s that respect that I really want to see in a follow up. I want him to send Nick and Judy out on important missions, I want him to trust them with their conduct and intel, and most of all, I want him to protect them and treat them like valuable members of the force. For instance we could see him chew out another officer for talking badly of them, and also risk his life to keep them alive. Speaking of, I also want to see him in action, not just in his office playing with apps (although I certainly wouldn’t complain if we saw him messing around) or showing up after the fact to arrest a perp; I want to see this big bull kicking tail and taking names. Again that prospective swat raid. Other than that, I’d like to learn a bit more about him as a person outside his job, and maybe get a full name.
Benjamin Clawhauser… I don’t have much in the way of new ideas for him other than seeing him interact with Nick. I and many others think that the two of them would be great friends with some awesome banter (and in the Tame Collar cut he was supposed to be one of Nick’s employees at Wilde Times, so they’ve got some of their dynamic figured out already). If I were to imagine Nick's nickname (or I guess we could say Nick Name) for him, it may be Chomps. Other than that, for the third time, flesh him and his backstory out a bit more; he’s a likable guy and I’d like to know more about him. I also absolutely think that he’d be yet another shi- Oh yeah, the main characters!
Nick and Judy
And finally, the part that I’ve wanted to talk about the most; Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. These two are incredible. I know I’ve already gushed about every last little thing this film has done even remotely right, but these two are genuinely just plain perfection. They’re my favorite cinematic duo ever, and some of my favorite fictional characters ever. Their dynamic, their chemistry, their dedication and adoration of each other, the way they grow because of each other, it’s all just wonderful. If you want more details as to why they’re so wonderful (especially together), check out @beastars-takes post on their relationship and why it’s so darn awesome; there is not an off word in there, offers a lot of insight into the hidden depths that you may not have noticed, and helped me understand these two and the film all the better and gave me the intense love I have for it. Buckle up, these two are the longest part of the essay, because they were the best and biggest part of the movie, and thus I’ve got the most to say.
Honestly, my favorite parts with them were in the last 20 minutes of the film where they are just a perfect buddy cop duo (and ironically enough, weren’t even cops at this point) who clearly had an unbelievable amount of love for each other and even faith in each other while kicking serious butt, and seeing Nick give off that extremely genuine smile upon finally being able to live up to the oath he made as a kid at his graduation was absolutely heartwarming. I want to see more of THIS duo in the next film; a duo of true companions absolutely brimming with charm and endearment who you want to be on screen as much as possible. These two had such good chemistry by the end of the film that many people wondered whether there was something more between them than mere friendship. Were they… Romantically involved? If not, should they be in the future? Many people have been against this idea because they either don’t interpret their relationship that way, and/or they feel that a romance would be cliched and/or forced. What’s my opinion on this whole thing? We’ll get to that soon, for now, let's talk about character focus and development!
I think that Nick should be in the protagonist seat this time, and Judy should be switched to deuteragonist, although she’ll be more in focus than Nick was last time. I want to see how Nick feels about his new life as an officer, his past and connections, his home (does he live in a leaky pipe ridden apartment and sleep in a drawer like in this concept art, or does he live in a better place?), him kicking but with his new training, and as said previously, his family. I want to see him being truly happy and fulfilled for the first time in his adult life, and how it affects him. I want to see the full weight of everything that he’s gained and will continue to have at the forefront of his story arc, and likewise with Judy. I want to see him open up to people more, and I want to see him continue to prove to the world that a fox can be more than a shyster, and heck, maybe he and Judy are becoming something of celebrities from their adventures and maybe the two of them are using their status to help their communities in ways other than police work. Maybe the two of them will visit schools, more run down neighborhoods and communities of stereotyped animals to tell their story and show them what they can become if they believe in themselves and in others. I also want a big emotional scene from him, or at least an adult big emotional scene. While we did see plenty of big emotional scenes from him and certainly saw the depths of what he’s been through, it was Judy who really brought out the most emotion. This time around, I want to see Nick carry the most emotional scene, tears and all. My choice would be him realizing the weight of what he has gained and how much he doesn’t want to lose it. For instance, perhaps they could have a party at the station in honor of their promotions (I'd guess detective given their skill sets) with him, his fellow officers, his parents, and even his and her civilian friends such as Finnick. He’ll sit down next to Judy and his folks with a plate and a cup, and they’ll start conversing. Suddenly, officer McHorn comes up and commends him and Judy for their great work in their short time on the force, and how they deserve to be detectives after all the cases big and small that they've solved. Nick will look at him with a smile as he’s talking, and then notice something: all of the most important people in his world are right there in that room, and each and every one loves, respects, and appreciates him. His parents, his friends, and most importantly his brothers in arms, and especially the one who brought him into the fold and changed his life forever. The realization that he’s achieved the camaraderie he wanted and fulfilled the promise he made in his youth, how he's made people see him for who he is and not what he is, and how whole his life has become from this job and how it will get even better from this promotion hit him like a train and he starts shedding tears. His parents, Judy and McHorn notice. He tries to play it off initially, but he realizes that he has nothing to hide anymore and explains everything. McHorn says he really meant what he said and that he’s an integral part of the PD, and Judy and his folks begin comforting him and eventually Judy says “Oh you foxes, you're so emotional”. Nick gets a big smile on his face and gives her a tight hug, and then chooses to get up on a table and say a big speech of thanks and cheers to his family, friends, his fellow officers, and especially to the greatest gal he’s ever known.
Speaking of the sly bunny, I want to see how the events of the last film have affected her and have shaped her into a wiser person and more effective officer. Much like with Nick, I want to see her continue to buck other’s expectations of her and prove that rabbits can be far more than just meek farmers. I want to see her grow even more street smart, wise, and a better problem solver from seeing all that Zootopia has to offer and from her proximity with Nick. I want her to see more of the world’s complicated problems and for her to start to understand the bad parts of it even more, but at the same time continuing to see plenty of good as well (sometimes, a bit of both). Also, there’s a lot of Zootopia as a city that she still hasn’t seen; species, districts, holidays, you name it. I want a big part of her story to also be her experiencing everything the city has to offer, preferably with Nick at her side, and the wonder on her face. That said, I want the wonder to be shared. I want to see Nick enjoying this city like never before since he can look at it in a whole new light, and do so with the one who made it all possible. And likewise, Judy would feel the same in regards to being able to explore it with the one who changed her for the better, helped her keep her career, learn more about herself, and has continued to be there for her. And again like Nick, I want her to really feel what she’s gained: a great career, comrades who respect her, the ability to help others, and fulfillment of the dream she’s wanted since childhood, and an amazing partner who helped her achieve it all and got all the same things because of her.
And all that of course brings us to the big question. How should their relationship evolve? Well, uh… I think… You see, I… I uh… Well...
This is on the bookshelf in my room
And this is one of my most viewed images on furaffinity (credit to RelaxableFur)
Of important note; I’m not someone who casually ships characters. I may consider the idea of them being a couple when they’re together on screen and have good chemistry, but I’m never like “Oh my god, they need to get together!” (in fact, I was neutral about the idea of WildeHopps until last year when I dived back into the movie), and I’m especially not one of those people who ships characters who obviously have no chance in hell of being romantically involved. I only really get on a ship if I think there’s a strong precedent for it in terms of character plausibility and storytelling potential (and it also helps if they’re absolutely adorable on screen). And in the case of these two, I absolutely think that they hit all three categories.
Now, let’s get into details. Do I think they’re just friends at the end of the film? Not necessarily. Do I think they’re romantically involved? Again, not necessarily. I think their relationship is complicated. As I said, they trust, respect, and care for each other to such an incredible degree that they were willing to do THIS all for the sake of milking the scene and keeping up appearances to keep the bad guy talking (and as you may or may not have noticed, Judy’s nose didn’t move even a bit during the entire act until Nick was right on top of her, whereas before at even the slightest sign of distress it would twitch like crazy), and then just casually laugh about the whole thing while holding each other. Speaking of which, they are clearly very comfortable with physical contact; Judy comforts Nick with some arm caresses
Nick let Judy cry into him and wrapped his tail around her when making up (how else would she step on it)
The two of them share the aforementioned very nice embrace when gloating to Bellwether (yes, Judy had a wounded leg, but the way they’re holding each other and how comfortable they are indicates way more than just physical support)
And there was also this part in the concert…
Y’all thought that was just a hip check, didn’t you!?
There’s also the fact that, while it’s obviously a rather playful exchange, they just casually threw the big, big L out there in their last conversation, and not only that, but the whole thing is delivered in a kind of longing fashion, and depending on the translation the wording gets either more or less explicitly romantic.
As myself and Beastars Takes have stated, they are perfect kindred spirits who have irrevocably changed each other’s lives for the better, and they believed in each other when no one else would. For those reasons they have grown closer to each other than anyone else and can’t get enough of each other. They made each other’s dreams come true, they’re the greatest things that have happened to each other, and they will continue to be so, especially now that they’re together nearly every day of the year since they’re now on the job together. To me, that’s not a will they get together, that’s a when will they get together, and I’d find it more forced if they didn’t become an item (unless their sexualities don’t match, but I doubt that, because again all of their dialogue and physical closeness)
And this officially licensed merch…
And these park character interactions.
And honestly, I think that many mammals will probably think the same way. As I almost said throughout, I think plenty of folks like Clawhauser and Finnick will see the spark between them and be Shippers on Deck. I could imagine Finnick teasing their obvious affection for each other, and Clawhauser could just be his usual self and just make little squees and mental notes whenever he sees them interacting, and there could be a few rumors about them floating around the PD.
So how should their romance develop, and how should their couple dynamic be? Subtly, and not too much of a change from how they already are, respectively. As I said, these two already think the world of and can’t get enough of each other, and I really think that there’s already a romantic spark between them that they just need to think through and expose. I give them half a year on the force before they’re all over each other, a year at most. I don’t think that they’ll even have to make any real confession of love to each other, I think they’ll just have to have the right moment to properly figure out that their relationship already is romantic and/or that it really would be able to work out between them, and actually cement it right there and then. That said, don’t drag the hookup out. Don’t have their entire arc be about them getting together. Don’t have them magically be together at the start of the story, but certainly don’t drag for the whole time. Give us time for them to be the slightly better than best friends we saw at the end of the last film while building up some extra tension, and then have them properly hook up in the second act. But as I said, their dynamic shouldn’t change too much. Again, it’d be more of a realization than a decision since they already have an unbelievably high opinion of and affection towards each other (and they seemingly already know that there’s something between them), and it’d be an enhancement of what they already have as opposed to a change; they’ll continue to be the best friends that they’ve been, just with an extra openly romantic component. Have them be even more willing to show affection both physical (hand holding, cuddling, and kissing) and verbal (more flirtation, and some I love yous). I want this romance to be sweet and unique with a lot more friendly banter, discussion and enjoying more platonic fun stuff (like playing games and joking together), and way less lubby dubby crap. I want their trust and love and respect for each other to be extremely apparent; continue to have it be clear that they think the world of each other and show the reasons for it, and don’t have them be too doting, or at least not that often. That said, absolutely feature some powerful romantic moments like a little dance, or the hookup stated before.
As I said before, I also really get on to a ship if I believe that it can add to the story, and in this case, I really do think it can. I think that their relationship could bring up and/or amplify a lot of strong themes that would complement the first film’s message perfectly. For instance, friendship, love and family not knowing the boundaries of species.
Now, it’s clear that interspecies relationships and marriages are a thing in this city: the directors talked a bit about how society could see their relationship and how Zootopia is probably open to the idea; the first couple that Judy meets in Zootopia are her neighbors Bucky and Pronk Oryx-Antlerson, who are a greater kudu and a gemsbok (they’re also same sex, so that indicates even more societal openness)
There was also an official comic about Flash trying to ask Priscilla out on a date to a movie, but he was too slow and lost out to a Hyena, so that indicates that even predator-prey relationships aren’t widely looked down upon.
However, as the first film showed, Zootopia’s not a perfect society, so they absolutely could receive some nasty stares and insults in the city, and Bunnyburrow Seems to be less open on the whole. Yes, I’m bringing up the ever so popular “Nick meets Judy’s parents after their hookup” idea that hundreds of people have written stories about, but I genuinely think it’s a fun idea, and I’d like to see their reaction to Nick if he’s romantically involved with their daughter, and Nick trying to get used to country life and bonding with a new family. We saw in the last film that Bonnie and Stu are opening up to foxes, and I would imagine that they met Nick around the time of the concert in the credits, but how could they feel about their daughter being with a non-bunny? That could be a fantastic storyline to cover, and it could be a fantastic way to explore that theme of interspecies bonds, and also of families being built on love. That being said, them visiting Bunnyburrow (AKA my hometown in upstate NY: we seem to have an infestation of rabbits here), would be best for a TV series arc or a comic as opposed to a theatrical release, but they could still have the Hopps family visit Zootopia in the film and have many similar things go down. Another scenario could be from Nick’s family. Remember what Rich said about his mother waiting for a grandkit? Does this mean that she actually wants him to continue the family line, or does it mean that she just wants another little tyke to help raise? Either way, she could be an interesting addition to this idea since the creators have specified that they normally fall back on what is scientifically plausible for the film, meaning that Nick and Judy probably wouldn't be able to conceive a child, so they could introduce some hesitance or vice versa into the story through her.
With my previous villain idea, the theme of bonds beyond species could come up quite often. Nick and Judy could become targets of The Cell from the beginning for their friendship, but they could perhaps become more of targets once it becomes clearer to The Cell that they may be more (and because they’re likely foiling their plans). If the villain actually saw proof up close that they were together, he could absolutely lose it and just try to tear them limb from limb. But of course, their bond could also be used to their advantage alongside the villains’ hypocrisy and foolishness. For instance, in a final confrontation. Here’s my prospective scene: Nick, Judy and possibly other characters are surrounded by Cell members who are armed to the teeth and pointing all they have right at them. Everyone in the room is weary from all that’s happened over the course of the film, and are hesitant to start fighting again. Then, Nick speaks up and asks The Cell why they’re still fighting. He brings up the fact that they’re all fighting for the downfall of Zootopia and the separation of all species since they believe that animals only see each other for what they are and are cruel because of it, and that they’re going as far as to hide their species from their comrades to not see each other as separate, but only until the job is done, and then they'll go their separate ways. Of course, why should they see each other as one only for now? They’ve all bonded and seen each other as comrades all this time while not knowing each other’s species; why should knowing what they are be any different? This would result in some taking the plunge and removing their helmets, which would then result in the others seeing what they are. Our leads would tell them that they have not known each other's species this long and yet they’ve bonded together as brothers in arms; why would they want to break that because of stupid differences, and why would they want to use those differences to separate themselves? Some folks can tear and digest meat, some can clip and digest grass; what difference should that make? If they want things to be better, then they must be better, and show those who hate them that things can be better (and for extra effect, Nick and Judy could show off the bond that they’ve gained despite being not just two different species, but predator and prey). One member throws his mask out, then another, and another. More and more continue to throw away their masks and even suits, either because they were convinced or because they see the cause as hopeless, and within a minute the floor is littered with masks and discarded body suits, and the members of the once mighty Cell walk out of the room, many with their arms around one another, and some holding hands, and soon it’s just the leader and the officers alone.
Conclusion
So those were my ideas for a Zootopia sequel. To recap, I want to see even more of the city’s districts and more of its socio-economic angles. I want to see new characters both brand new and from old drafts, and I want an interesting and fresh villain who we can gain a bit of sympathy for. I want to see all of our favorite supporting characters from the first film continue to be great and have expanded roles. And above all, I want our leads to continue to grow themselves and their bond into something even more wonderful. I want to see Nick grow as a person and officer, and I want to see Judy grow alongside him. I want to see Nick’s family and connections, I want how his new life is affecting him, and I want to see him open up emotionally with himself and with those he loves, and I want Judy to continue to grow wiser about the world and everything ugly and beautiful about it, and how being on the force, and with the one she cares about most no less, shapes her into an even more effective problem solver.
So when could we see a sequel? Well, we may have to wait a while longer. While it’s very clear that the franchise isn’t dead, we’ve heard absolutely nothing official on a sequel, and current events at Disney Animation Studios are making it seem like we may have to wait more for one to come. The director and mastermind behind the film, Byron Howard, and the co-director and screenwriter, Jared Bush, are currently working on a musical film currently called Encanto which is set to release in November. Why did they do this instead of going straight for Zootopia 2? Rich Moore, the other head director, had to scramble back to work on Ralph Breaks The Internet after leaving it for a year and a half, and that pretty much left the team in pieces. Considering how much he seemed to want to be a part of the development of a sequel and how they said that they didn’t want to rush it, the other guys seem to have started Encanto to do something new while Rich was busy, and of course shake up their creative juices. However, Rich left the studio in 2019 to join Sony Animation, although he said he left the studio in good hands, and I certainly hope that’s true. Considering that Disney tends to announce films around two years before release, and also tends to have directors work on films released two years apart, 2023 seems like a likely release year, but 2024 would work better for getting a bit more development time into it, get some test screening done and to iron out any possible issues.
That said, the extra year may not be totally necessary. Considering how well developed the first film’s world and characters were, and how much they conceptualized during its production, I don’t think they’ll have to conceptualize quite as hard, and most of what they’ll have to create from scratch will be storylines, themes, character development, and brand new characters, as well as possibly a few districts and species designs. But again, there was so much that they have already made that they just need to show us, as well as so many concepts to fall back on with developing brand new content that even in the conceptual stage that it may have be in they’ll have a relatively easy time coming up with incredible new content; unlike Frozen II & Ralph Breaks the Internet where they had to make up totally new locations, concepts, and everything in between. I’m of the opinion that with all the time that it’s likely been in partial production that the relatively little new stuff that they've had to come up with has probably already been quite refined, and by the time Encanto is done, they may well have something extremely robust and just need to refine it, and then make models and animate it, and give us Disney Animation's best sequel ever. But then again, that extra year may be good for it. But then again, I'm not a filmmaker, so I don't know crap.
And after that, we could end up getting a TV series with further adventures of Nick and Judy, and also flesh out the world even more by showing us districts, criminal groups, precincts, and all manner of other things. Perhaps it could be a police procedural with our leads taking on whatever the city has to offer as well as de showing off more about them and other characters than the films could, and also potentially be a bit of a Segway into the next film (why yes, I think a Zootopia trilogy could be amazing). Thankfully the majority of the cast is made up of accomplished TV actors, so they’ll probably be able to get almost everyone back (but I am hoping for Jason Bateman the most since he IS Nick Wilde and no one can replace him (the same applies to Ginnifer Goodwin with Judy to a very slightly lesser extent)). My hope is that it'll be a D+ original, and thus have an extra good budget that'll hopefully bring in a great cast, and excellent animation and writing.
But anyway, thanks for reading! I hope you all enjoyed my ideas. Was there anything you'd like to add, or anything you didn't quite agree with (or any mistakes I didn't notice while proofreading)? Well then please do discuss them. Until next time, may your battles be won and your day be blessed, and may you be excellent to all those you meet!

My Everything - Part Ten
A Take it Slow Sequel
What happens with Harry and Y/N after he proposes? How will the two navigate the engaged life while also continuing to juggle their jobs, friends, and families? Let’s find out.
Warnings: Fluff and Smut! 6K
Masterpost
You and Harry let Buster sleep in the bed with you that night since you’d be away from him for so long. Niall drove you both to the airport the next morning. You were beyond excited for this trip. You and Harry were pros at flying together at this point. He knew to keep an arm around you while you slept, and he’d keep his head rested on yours.
When you get off the plane you each head into the bathroom to change into some lighter clothes. You brought a light green pair of shorts and a white tank top to wear, and Harry changed into a pair of light blue shorts with a black t-shirt. You both looked very ready for Florida.
“I can’t wait for you to bust out your real Florida clothes.” You giggle. “You know the ones that make you look like a grandpa in Miami?”
“Oh baby, I brought all that shit.” He winks. He reaches into his carry on and hands you your fast pass band. “We need ‘em when we get in line for the buses.”
You both navigate through the Orlando airport, and wait for the bus to your resort. You get on and about halfway through the ride you go into the Disney app to see if your room is ready.
“Oh look! Floor four, room 3000.” You show Harry your phone. “But our luggage most likely won’t be there until later tonight.”
“S’alright, we can at least stick our backpacks in the room for now.”
You hum your response. The two of you were in awe of the resort. You were able to use your wristbands to unlock the door, you didn’t even need to go to the desk in the lobby to check in. There was a note on the little table in the room.
“Listen to this!” You exclaim, and he turns to look at you. “Congratulations on your recent partnership, we thank you for wanting to celebrate your honeymoon with us. Let us know how we can make this experience even more magical for you.”
“That’s cute.” He pouts.
The two of you walk the grounds of the resort just to get familiar with where the pool and restaurants are.
“Alright, so we’re doin’ EPCOT this afternoon?” He asks.
“Mhm, look that’s where all the shuttles come.”
It takes a few minutes to actually get into the park, but once you do you couldn’t be more thrilled. They give you and Harry buttons that say “Just Married” on them for you to wear. You use your Fast Pass to go on Spaceship Earth first. You were mostly excited to get to the World’s Fair so you could eat a ton of the different food.
You and Harry have a lot of fun in Mexico, and go on the Donald Duck ride. You take lots of selfies as you go around from country to country. You ended up eating at a French restaurant that night and it was delicious. You both stayed in the park to see the fireworks and it was beautiful. Harry had his arms wrapped around you, chin resting on your head.
By the time you got back to your room, you were pooped. You both do your nightly routine and climb into bed.
“Oh my god, this is beyond comfortable.” You say.
“What’s on the itinerary tomorrow, sweetheart?”
“We are spending the day at Magic Kingdom. Our first Fast Pass is at Space Mountain. Once we use all three we can add more. Our reservation is at like 9AM, so we’ll have time for breakfast here.”
“It’s gonna be really sunny tomorrow, we’ll need sunscreen and all that.”
“We can also take a break in the afternoon if we feel like coming back for a swim before going back in for dinner. We’re eating in Disney Springs tomorrow.”
“Great first day, hm?”
“It was perfect.” You kiss goodnight and slowly drift off after getting comfortable.
//
“Are you sure you’re okay with goin’ on this ride? You hate roller coasters.” Harry says to you as you’re in line for Space Mountain.
“I think I’ll be okay. Oh shit…we can’t sit together?”
“It’s a single rider, you wanna go behind me?”
“Yeah.”
Harry couldn’t help but laugh during the ride when he heard you scream and then start to laugh like you always did.
“I did pretty well.”
“You did, I’m very proud of you.” He kisses your hairline. “What’s next?”
“We are meeting Princess Ariel.” You beam. “She’s my favorite.”
“Sounds good to me. Gives us a chance to really walk through the park.”
There was even more wonderful food to snack on at Magic Kingdom. You both were just having an amazing time. The weather was beautiful and you had no cares in the world. Over the next few days you did everything in the Disney book. You had dinner in Belle’s Castle, you screamed your head off on the Tower of Terror, and opted to let Harry go on the Rockin’ Roller Coaster alone. You took a ton of pictures, especially in front of Cinderella’s Castle. You also tried every Dole Whip you could find in each park. The only thing was that most nights by the time you’d finally get back to your room, you both would be too tired to be intimate. And then in the morning, you’d have to get up, eat breakfast and get to the park. It was an amazing four days, but you were excited to head to Fort Meyers.
//
Harry rented a car for the two of you, and to the West Coast you went.
“God, that was so much fun, I already wanna plan our next trip.” You laugh. “I think Sarah had the right idea about a group trip.”
“Oh, definitely. We could all stay on resort, drink around the world, it would be great.”
“Maybe in a few years, yeah? It took so long to save up and pay off.”
“I agree, this is something you do once in a while. Thanks for takin’ care of most of the plannin’ for it.” He rubs your thigh. “Wait until you see the place we’re headed, you’ll love it.”
“I’m very excited.” You check your phone. “I was hoping Mariah would have sent us some photos…”
“She said she wants it all to be a big surprise. She’s working on making us a book and all that. Just be patient, baby. Then we can take our time goin’ through all of it.”
“You’re right. Plus, now we can go through all the pictures we just took. The one of you and Goofy has got to be my favorite.”
“I liked the ones you took with Woody and Bo Peep, that was hilarious.”
“Should we stop off at a grocery store before going to the house just to get what we need for the next few days?”
“Good idea, I don’t see us leavin’ too much.” He smirks.
“You know…and I don’t want this to kill the vibe at all…but the day we come back our flight is in the late afternoon, and we’re only an hour from Nannie. I was wondering if maybe she could come have breakfast with us?”
“On the last morning? Sure.” He shrugs. “She won’t mind takin’ the drive?”
“Nah, plus, she’d bring a friend with her. Thanks, I just feel guilty being in Florida and not seeing her, even though we just saw her.”
“No, I get it. I’d wanna spend time with her too.” He smiles. “She was so cute when she danced with me at the wedding.”
“She couldn’t wait to get her hands on you.” You laugh and put your hand over his. “Neither can I. Oh! Seth just texted a picture of Buster, our little baby boy.” You pout and show Harry quick. You can’t help but start laughing.
“What?”
“Nothing, I just…sometimes I think back, and like, did you ever think Seth would be one of your best friends?”
“No.” Harry laughs. “He really is a great guy, I’m glad he’s in my life.”
“I think he wants to marry Isaac, they could be next out of all our friends.”
“I wanna know what the fuckin’ hold up with Niall and Sarah is. I feel like something’s comin’ soon with them, but I can’t put my finger on it.”
“Sarah’s looking at new schools to work at…she, uh, really wants to get in at a prep school. They may start looking at houses soon.”
“Yeah, Niall mentioned something about that. He really likes living in the city, it would suck to commute like that.”
“I know.” You sigh. “They have a lot to consider. At least Rach and Mariah seem to be staying in the city for a bit longer.”
“I think Mariah wants to have a baby soon too.”
“Oh really?!” You squeal.
“Yeah, she’s mentioned it a couple of times. They haven’t talked about it much, but she wants to be the one to get pregnant and carry it if they do.” Harry chuckles. “Isaac even offered up his sperm.”
“Aw, what a sweetie.” You giggle.
You and Harry go grocery shopping quickly before getting to the house he rented.
“Oh my god.” You gasp as he pulls up.
“The boat’s already at the dock out back too. Got my license online and everything. We’ll be able to go out and enjoy a few rides.”
“Oh, I can’t wait, babe.” You get everything into the house and go outside. “Wow, this is really private.”
“Mhm, we can screw out here and no one would know.”
“Oh, stop it.” You swat a hand at him. You walk down further and feel the sand between your toes. “I can’t wait to swim. The boat is perfect too, honey, well done.”
“Wanna explore the inside?”
“Definitely.”
You both go back in. It was a simple ranch style home, but it was beautiful. The master bedroom was ginormous and it had a giant en suite. The kitchen was open concept and flowed naturally into a living and eating area. There was a nice patio out back as well.
“It’s perfect, Harry. Thank you.” You wrap your arms around his neck. “So…I spoke with Dr. Mara a few weeks ago, and I didn’t say anything to you, but I switched medications.”
“You did?” He steps back from you. “Seems like an odd thing not to tell me, Y/N.”
“I know, we just had a lot going on. I…wanted to be able to have alcohol for this part of our honeymoon. It was really hard not to get anything in Disney, especially while you were trying a bunch of stuff, but I was afraid of going overboard too soon. I want us to be able to be romantic and have wine and just really enjoy this part of things. Anyways, the new medication I’m on allows me to have alcohol in small amounts.”
“So that’s why you were so adamant about getting wine at the store.” He says in understanding.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I wanted to see how my mood changed and all that.”
“I literally didn’t notice a difference.”
“I know! So it’s doing its job.”
You both were feeling a bit nervous since you wanted this all to be special.
“Okay, what do you say we put our suits on, and head to the boat. We can bring some of the snacks we just bought and just have some fun on the water.”
“I think that’s a great idea.” You smile.
You put on a cute light blue two piece, and Harry had his yellow trunks. You pack up some snacks and water. You both lather each other with sunscreen, and go down to the boat. Harry uses a map so he knows where he can go. There was a sandbar that the owners of the house told him about.
“There! Where the other boats are parked.” You point out to him. “How do you even know how to do drive this thing?”
“I’ve driven a boat before.” He scoffs. “Have you met me? I’m good at everything anyways.”
You roll your eyes and nudge him. He parks the boat and throws the anchor. You open the bag of baby carrots and pop a couple into your mouth.
“Should we swim? It’s fuckin’ hot out.”
“You’re just full of great ideas today.”
You both get in the water and swim around. You splash and giggle and just have a great time. You both sit out and get some sun as well. Eventually, you go back to the house and Harry grills some veggie burgers for the two of you. As the sun sets, you both change into some warmer clothes, and he gets a fire started in the pit. He grabs some sticks and you get some marshmallows.
“What do you say, want some wine?” You ask.
“Mhm, if you do.”
“I do…I should probably stick to one glass so I don’t get fucked up.” You laugh.
You sit together outside and roast your marshmallows. You clink your glasses and enjoy the sweet red wine.
“Mm, I forgot how good wine tasted.” You giggle.
Harry’s arm was around you. He set his glass on the ground, and tilts your chin up to look at him. He presses his lips to yours and swipes his tongue along your bottom lip. He pulls away and smiles.
“I agree, very sweet.” He leans back and kisses you again. “Is it helpin’ yeh relax at all? I don’t want you to feel pressured.”
“It’s helping, yeah. I know there’s no pressure, I’ll either come back pregnant or I won’t. It could stake a few tries, and that’s fine. This is all just so romantic, I want it so badly.”
“Me too, and when it’s meant to it will.” He assures you.
You both finish your glasses, and it definitely hit you. Your tolerance had gotten really low. You both clean everything up and head inside.
“That was a nice fire.” You wrap your arms around his neck and his go around your waist.
“Yeah?”
“Mhm.” You get on your tip toes and kiss him.
He walks you into the bedroom and you both fall onto the bed. He gets you far back so your head can rest on the soft pillows.
“You looked so sexy in your swim suit today.” He kisses on your neck and you giggle. “I wanted to take it off with my teeth.”
“Aw, why didn’t you?” You pout. “Tomorrow I’ll put it on just so you can take it off that exact way.” He grinds his hips down against yours and you groan. “Knew you’d like that.”
“I’d love it.” He growls as his hands slide up under your shirt. Your hips buck up towards his. “Tell me what you want, angel.” His eyes were locked on yours now.
“I want to make a baby with you.” You say just above a whisper.
“Fuck.” He says under his breath.
He lifts your shirt off you and practically rips your bra away. He pulls his own shirt off and attaches his lips to your right nipple. Your hand tugs at his hair as he sucks on you. His other hand kneads your left breast. He moves to start kissing down your body, sucking wherever he pleases, leaving behind all of the marks he wants. Your body felt hot all over with every touch he left behind. He tugs your shorts and underwear off, and he licks his lips as you open your legs for him.
“We’re gonna take our time, okay? We have nowhere to be, so we’re in no rush.” He says, planting kissing on your inner thigh.
“Okay. I want this to be really good for both of us, it’s not just about me.”
“Tonight it is, but we have three more nights here after tonight, don’t you worry.”
You gasp when you feel his tongue lick through your folds and up to your clit. He does this a few times just enjoying the way you taste. His hands spread you further apart as he swirls his tongue around your clit. Your hands grip at the roots of his curls. He works two fingers inside you slowly, and it makes your head spin. He was really feeling around, he knew the territory well, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t still occasionally explore. Plus, he knew you liked the way his fingers would stretch you out.
He nibbles and sucks on your clit as his fingers curl up against that spongey spot. You grind against him and let out soft whimpers. He was giving you exactly what you needed. He knew you were under a lot of pressure. Erica had been trying to get pregnant ever since her wedding, and she had a lot of trouble. She was only three and a half years older than you, and you weren’t sure if you’d run into the same issues.
“Oh fuck, oh my god, shit.” You were panting as his fingers picked up the pace. “Harry, oh my god!” Your head rolls back further into the pillow as you release onto his fingers. He retracts them slowly and sucks them into his mouth. “Get your pants off, now.”
He smirks and gets the rest of his clothes off. He hovers over you as you grip him in your hand. You drag his tip against your clit and folds, almost teasing yourself.
“God, I can’t wait to really feel you again, it’s been way too long.”
“I can’t wait to feel your come inside me again.” You line him up with you and he slowly starts to push in.
You both moan out once he’s all the way in. You clench around him, never wanting him to leave.
“If you do that m’not gonna be able to last long.”
“I’m sorry, you just feel incredible already.”
He smooths your hair away from your forehead and kisses it. He kisses your nose next, and then slots his mouth over yours as he rocks in and out of you. You wrap your legs around his waist and drag your nails down his back as his tongue molds to yours.
You were both sweating even with the A.C. on. It was pooling between your stomachs, but neither of you cared. You both were so caught up in just feeling good. He hooks an arm under one of your legs and drive in a little deeper. It hits just the right spot, and your nails sink into his ass.
“Right there, Harry, fuck.”
He sponges kisses to your neck and bites down on you. You lose it at that and he feels you come around his cock. He drops your leg and pulls out. He grabs your hips and flips you over. He spreads you apart with his thumbs and slides back in. One of his hands grips the back of your neck while the other presses into your hip. You loved this part. Sometimes harry would start out so sweet, make sure you came a couple of times, and then he’d get a little rough.
“How’s this?” He grunts.
“So good, so fucking good, rail me babe.”
He thrusts in and out of you faster and faster, but then he slows down. He pulls out of you again and flips you back on your back.
“What’s wrong?” You out.
“Nothing.” He slides back in. “I just wanna be able to see your face, that’s all.”
You smile at each other as he thrusts in and out of you again. His tip brushes against your g-spot so you grip onto his biceps to relieve some of the pressure building. You groan when you feel his muscles flex.
“Harry, please, I want you to come.”
“You do?” He grunts.
“Yes, please, I want us to come at the same time.”
He strokes your cheek and leans down to give you a kiss as his movements get sloppier. You can’t hold on much longer, but it doesn’t matter because the second you feel his warm come paint your walls, you release again. He moans your name as he continues to fill you up. You clench around him while he slowly pulls out so you don’t lose a single drop.
“You might wanna sit with your legs up for a few minutes, angel.”
You clamp your thighs together the second he’s out. He helps you shift and turn around so you can rest your legs up against the headboard. He sits next to you and looks down at your flushed face.
“How long do you think I should stay like this?” You giggle.
“Don’t know.” He shrugs. “Five minutes maybe?” You reach your hand out and rest it on his thigh.
“That was really nice. I feel like we haven’t been close like that in a long time.”
“I know.” He rests his hand on yours. “Things got really hectic, huh?”
“Mhm.”
You both slept really well that night. The next morning, Harry fucked you in the shower, and then again while you were trying to make breakfast. You had promised him he could take your swim suit off with his teeth, after all. You both enjoyed the sun and sand on your little private beach.
“I’m gonna dip my feet in the water.” You tell him and he hums his response, not looking up from his book.
Harry stretches and sets his book down. He tips his sunglasses down his nose to properly watch you strut down to the water. As you walk back you notice him looking at you. He makes a “come here” motion with his index finger. You giggle and go over to him, straddling him in the long beach chair.
“You’re hard.” You say into his neck.
“Mhm, can’t help it. My wife is just so sexy.” He grips your hips tightly.
“I could say the same about my husband.”
He reaches between the two of you and moves your bathing suit bottom to the side to rub your slit. His fingers easily slip inside you and you bite down on his neck.
“Can I fuck you our here?” He grumbles as his fingers work your insides.
“Yes.” You breathe.
Your hands roam down his stomach to the top of his swim suit. You pull out his hard cock and line it up with your center. He takes his fingers out of you so you can slip him in. It was the middle day, you two were out in broad daylight, and you were fucking in the open air. Normally you wouldn’t do something like this, but you really did have a lot of privacy.
He rocks you up and down on his cock. You prayed the chair underneath you wouldn’t break. He gets a little frustrated, so he picks you up and lays you on the towel you had laid out between your chairs. You giggle as he puts your legs over his shoulders.
“Tell me this isn’t more comfortable?”
“It is, you’re just cute.”
“Can’t get enough of yeh.”
He sucks on your neck in multiple spots, really making a mess of you. Your bathing suit top loosens from the way your breasts are bouncing up and down and he nearly comes at the sight. He grabs the front of it and rips it away. He dips his head down as he drops your legs to suck one of your nipples into his mouth. You rub your clit as he does all of this and you start moaning out a little louder. He loved when you both would work together like this. He comes inside you just as you release.
After Harry goes inside to grab some waters, he sees you still laying on your back, spraying some sunscreen on your chest.
“What are you doin’?” He chuckles, handing you a water.
“When do I ever get the chance to just openly tan my entire chest? I’m taking advantage of the privacy.”
That night for dinner, you pack up some sandwiches, and harry takes you for a boat ride. You end up giving him a much deserved blow job. The rest of your trip was just sort of like this. The two of you making love any time you felt like it. There was one day you didn’t even really leave the bedroom, you could barely walk by the time you needed to meet your Nannie for breakfast before you caught your plane home. Needless to say, Harry wore you out in hopes of getting you pregnant, and you didn’t mind one bit.
//
Isaac and Seth had dropped Buster off before you got home so he’d be there waiting for you. You drop to your knees and let him lick your face when you see him.
“My baby! Mummy missed you soooo much!” Harry joins you on the floor with him and hugs him. “Daddy did too.”
“Should we, uh, buy some tests tomorrow?” He asks, petting his boy.
“Yeah, we could. I don’t know how soon you can tell though. We might have to wait a couple of weeks.”
“True, might not be a bad idea to just stock up on ‘em.”
“I’ll go to the drug store tomorrow after work.”
“Ugh, work.” He gets up and helps you to your feet. “Not lookin’ forward to that.”
“Me neither.” You sigh.
“Well, I shouldn’t say that, I just wish we could stay like this.”
“I know what you mean. If I could relive the last two weeks over and over, I would.” You walk over to the living room and gasp when you see the photo album sitting on the coffee table. “Harry, look!” You squeal.
You both sit down and snuggle up with the album. You both get glossy eyed when you look over everything. Mariah did an incredible job, not that either of you were worried.
“Your dress really was stunning, baby.”
“So was your suit.”
You look at each other. It didn’t take long until you were both naked and fucking on the couch.
//
“Look at how beautiful the castle was at night.” You were showing Niall a ton of your photos.
“The lights look incredible. Sarah’s been talkin’ about going now, I think you put a bug in her ear.” He chuckles.
“You two should definitely go! She loves the princesses and all that.”
“Believe me, I know. We were thinkin’ of going at the end of this summer.”
“Oh?!” You smile.
“Yeah, I, uh…well…” He takes his phone out and shows you a picture of a ring and you gasp. “Do you think she’ll like it?”
“Oh my god, she’s going to love it!” You hug him. “And she’d love a Disney proposal, are you kidding me?”
“She won’t think it’s cheesy?”
“No! She’ll die, oh my goodness.” You hug him again. “This is wild, we’re all so adult.”
“Well, I figured if we’re gonna buy a house together, I might as well put a ring on it before her dad kills me.” He jokes.
“What towns have you guys been looking in?”
“Right now, just the Milton area. We don’t wanna be too far from the city since I don’t plan on lookin’ for a new job any time soon.”
“It’ll be weird not having you across the street, but I understand wanting a home.”
“Do you think you and Harry will start lookin’ for a house?”
“Not anytime soon. We like living in the city.” You shrug.
“What about when you start havin’ kids?”
“Our apartment can handle a child. If we have more, which we probably will, then I’m sure we’ll need to move. But for now we can stay where we are. I’m kind of nervous. Erica’s been having trouble getting pregnant, and…”
“Hey.” He puts his hand on your shoulder. “It’ll happen when it happens, okay?” He smiles reassuringly.
//
When your period came, Harry seemed more upset than you.
“I guess I just don’t understand how it all works.” He sighs.
“We knew this could happen, we’ll just have to try again when I’m ovulating next.” You give his hand a squeeze and smile. “We need to try not to think about it as much. A lot of people conceive when they’re least expecting it.”
“I know, you’re right.” He kisses your cheek. “We’ll get there.”
//
Two more months had gone by, and you still hadn’t gotten pregnant. Harry was getting ready to take you away for your birthday. Just a simple weekend at a spa to relax. Your summer had gotten sort of stressful. You had gotten hired as a TL at your old college to teach a class online for the summer. It was going really well, and the class was just about over. Your passion for teaching students about media was growing stronger.
This meant, though, many of your nights had been long. You would often stay in your office after hours to get some grading and other work done. Harry hated it, of course. The stress couldn’t have been helping. It was nearly 7PM, and the office was empty. You just needed to get through some emails from your students and then you could go home to start your much needed long weekend for your twenty-seventh birthday.
There was a knock on the outside of your door. It was Harry with a bouquet of flowers. You look up and smile.
“What are you doing here?”
“Thought we could go to dinner. Dropped Buster off with Niall and Sarah.”
“God, I’m gonna miss them when they’re not right across the street.” You frown. “But I’m happy their offer got accepted.”
“Me too. And what great timing that they’re headed to Disney soon too. They can relax from all the stress they’ve been under. I’m glad they’ve gone through it first, to be honest.” He closes the door behind him and locks it.
“No one’s here, you could’ve left that open.”
“Eh, force of habit.” He shrugs.
You stand up to give him a hug. He looks you up and down. You had a red, short sleeve blouse on paired with a black pencil skirt.
“These flowers are beautiful, thank you.”
“Happy almost birthday, my love.” He cups your cheek with one hand and kisses you.
“I just need to finish up some emails and then we can go.”
You sit back down and he comes around to stand behind you. He starts rubbing your shoulders just as you begin typing. Your fingers stop and your eyes flutter closed. Harry would always be your favorite masseuse.
“You look good enough to eat, you know that right?” He whispers in your ear, sending a shiver up your spine.
You send your last email and turn your monitor off. He spins you around in your chair so you’re facing him. You look up at him through your lashes. For years you had told Harry you’d never have sex in your office. But you were ovulating and extremely turned on.
“So why not have your appetizer here then?”
His eyebrows shoot up. He was expecting you to say no or to tell him anything other than what you just said. His hands drag up from your knees to your thighs, bunching up your skirt to your hips. He grips your panties and takes them off of you. He drops to his knees and puts your legs over his shoulders, pulling you closer to the edge of your seat. His tongue was on you in seconds, but he takes it away just as quickly. He nips at your inner thigh, sucking a very dark mark into your skin.
“Fuck.” You breathe as he does it to the other one.
He licks into you again, getting a very good taste. He drags his tongue up to your clit and sucks on you.
“Harry.” Your head rolls back, and the chair nearly tips over, but he steadies it.
One of his hands reaches up to grip your throat, and your eyes roll into the back of your head as you come on his tongue. He stands up and undoes his pants. He licks his lips when he looks at you, he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do to you first.
“Take me on the floor, please.” You beg him.
“Get on your back then.”
You stand up and lay on the ground. Harry chuckles as he gets on the ground over you.
“What?”
“Thought you would’ve wanted me to bend you over the desk.”
“No, I want it like this.” His lips ghost over yours.
You gasp as he enters you, and his tongue goes into your mouth. Yours molds to his and he swallows your groans. He carefully unbuttons your blouse so he can cup your breasts over your bra. He was ramming into you, and it felt incredible.
“Oh my god, Harry.” Your back arches slightly. Something about doing it in your office after saying no for so long was really doing something for you. “Holy shit!” You scream as he rubs on your clit. “Don’t stop.” You groan.
“Baby.” He moans. “Fuck, you’re so beautiful like this.”
You wrap your legs around him to pull him closer to you. You knew your back was going to hurt tomorrow, but you didn’t care. He takes his other hand to grab yours, intertwining your fingers. He pins it next to your head. You use your free hand to grip his throat. You were thankful there was A/C in your office, or the two of you would be drenched in even more sweat than you were.
You tighten around him as you come to another release. He squeezes your hand as he comes inside you. Your grip loosens around his throat as you both catch your breaths. He sticks a finger inside you so nothing slips out, and then he grabs your underwear to slide up your legs.
“Hope you won’t be too uncomfortable at dinner.” He says as he helps you up.
“I’ll be fine.” You smile and kiss him. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
//
At the end of the month, on their trip in Disney, Niall proposed to Sarah, and she happily accepted. You couldn’t wait to celebrate with them when they got back. The class you taught got amazing reviews in the course evaluations. You were asked to come in for a meeting with the head of the Communication Department.
“Y/N!” Dr. Harrison calls you into her office. You knew her very well. “It’s so good to see you.”
“You too.” You shake her hand and have a seat. “Weird, last time I sat in this seat I was asking you about internships.” You laugh.
“Funny how things come full circle sometimes.” She smiles. “We were very impressed with how well your class went. We haven’t had students do so well with TL like this in a while. A lot of students who take summer courses take them to improve their GPA’s.”
“So I noticed. I had them send me intro videos for their first assignments, and a lot of them said they were grateful my class was being taught.”
“One of our faculty members is heading to another institution next semester. So she’ll only be here for the fall term. We have to start figuring out spring semester courses later this month. She teaches a lot of the film and media courses.” You nod. “You have your MEd, correct?”
“That’s right.”
“We’re going to be searching for a new teaching position soon. I’ve been speaking with the other faculty, you were such a rock star of a student, and we were wondering if you’d consider applying once we open it.”
“What?” You were in shock.
“I know that’s a lot to ask, obviously, you seem to really like your job. You’re good at what you do, but you also seem to be a great teacher. We’d like you to teach more of our students.”
“I…I don’t know…see, my husband and I are trying to start a family, and my work has amazing maternity leave options and benefits. I mean, I could be pregnant now, and if I was that would mean I’d literally just make it to the end of the spring semester, and then I’d be on maternity all summer, and I know being a junior faculty means a lot of-“
“Y/N slow down.” She chuckles.
“It’s just, I essentially get six months off for maternity at my work…”
“I could get you some information about our union benefits. We have nine month contracts and twelve month contracts. Lots of different options. I don’t have kids of my own, but I have to say our insurance benefits are really great. You don’t have to decide anything right now, just know we’d love to have you. We’re going to open the position up at the end of September. At least consider applying, alright?”
On your way home from the meeting you had to pull over on the side of the road to throw up. You had taken the afternoon off from work to go to this meeting, so you go right home. You throw up again the second you get inside, luckily you made it to the toilet.
“What the fuck?” You say to yourself, and then it dawns on you. You get your phone and call Harry. You promised him any time you took a test that you needed to be together.
“Hey baby, how’d the meeting go?”
“Can you come home?”
“Um…uh…I have a client coming soon, why?”
“I’ve been throwing up all afternoon…I think I should take a test.”
“Oh! This shouldn’t take long, could you wait until I get home?”
“Harry.” You groan.
“Okay, take it, but don’t look at the results until I get home, please.”
“Alright.”
You go into the bathroom and take a pregnancy test. You had been trying for five months now, and you hadn’t had a symptom like this yet. You stick the test on the counter in the bathroom and go out to the living room. You had so many things to think over. Teaching had just become a new passion of yours, but was this opportunity worth disrupting everything right now?
You sit down and look over the union information Dr. Harrison gave you. You pull up your benefits package from work on your laptop and try to compare the two. The university, believe it or not, actually had better insurance policies. Being protected by a union would also be nice. This was the shitty part about working for a good business. You felt guilty for wanting something new. You were so grateful for everything, but you did the same thing every single day, and it just wasn’t giving you the same fulfillment it used to. You had been there since you were twenty-one, fresh out of college. You were twenty-seven now, maybe something new would be good. Besides that, you knew Niall had one foot out the door. Sarah had gotten a position at a nice prep-school, and he was looking at some other companies closer to their new house. He needed to be able to move up, and there were no positions opening up any time soon. He had been at Mark It even longer than you. A lot was changing all at once.
You take a deep breath and tell yourself you’ll talk things over with Harry later. A couple of hours later, Harry bursts through the door with Buster. You stand up immediately and walk with him hand in hand to the bathroom. You both look at the test sitting there and take a deep as you walk up to it. Both of your eyes widen when you look at it.

JAPAN
WHERE: Shiki's Sushi Babylon, New York *has since closed*
My first experience with Japanese food was when an old friend of mine took me to Shiki Japanese Restaurant in Babylon, Long Island way back around the early 2000s. She loved sushi but back then sushi was not yet a mainstream thing, so I had never had it before. When she took me there, she asked if I knew how to use chopsticks. I had to confess that I did not. So she told me that they didn't have any forks at this restaurant so it was either use the chopsticks or I wasn't going to be able to eat my lunch.
It took me a good hour of looking like a complete fool, trial by hunger and dropping the pieces over and over again before I finally was able to eat anything. By the end of the meal, I was able to use chopsticks at least a little-- enough to finish my lunch at least. Hunger can be such a motivating teacher!
She smiled as we were leaving and told me, "actually, I lied, they do have forks, but I didn't want you to look like an amateur."
My mouth fell open, dropping right down like one of the pieces of sushi that had fallen to my plate dozens of times.
I forgave her for this after sushi became one of my favorite meals though. And she paid me back for her prank by teaching me the difference between sashimi (raw fish/meat and vegetables), sushi (fish, seaweed, vegetables and rice), nigiri (raw fish, seaweed, veggies and rice) and maki (fish, seaweed and rice). And I was able to pick up a new skill that day, which was fun to show off. I can still remember my grandfather watching me with chopsticks and Chinese food (switching ethnic cuisines a bit here), and he laughed and said, "You don't know how to use those. Just grab a fork." and I smiled at him, winked and used my chopsticks just like my friend had shown me. Life is pretty cool when you've got skills you can show off like that when people are laughing at you.
My favorites types of sushi have always been the cooked versions. Firstly because the sushi episode on The Simpsons still scares me and I don't trust any chef to give me the right part of the blowfish, heh. Secondly, because once I actually tasted raw sushi many years later, I found it far too slimy for me to enjoy. And thirdly, the crunchies and the tempura are the best parts!
AND ALSO...
WHERE: Jimmy's Sushi (600 Portion Rd, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779)
Sushi started to pick up steam in the mainstream throughout the early 2000s and eventually more places were offering it. One of my favorite sushi places to go to on Long Island eventually became Jimmy's Sushi. I LOVE this place! I even had sushi at the fancy Japanese restaurant in EPCOT years later, Teppan Edo, but no one does sushi like Jimmy's. They were a favorite amongst my college friends and I have so many memories of groups of us going there, popping open the edamame appetizers, and talking about random stuff while devouring mango topped tempura shrimp and other delicacies.
Jimmy's Sushi was also where my then-fiancé took me and his family when they visited up from Florida, wherein his little nephew looked over his little marinated octopi and lamented, "why do baby octopuses have to be so delicious?" And then proceeded to gobble every last one on his plate like a madman. It became a running joke for us back then.
AND ALSO...
WHERE: Kit Kats sent from Japan
When I moved to Virginia, my Japanese food eating days were far from over. A friend of mine went to vacation in Japan and asked if he could send me some souvenirs. I'm not one to turn down free gifts, so I replied, "please do!"
He proceeded to send me a huge box of an assortment of Japanese Kit Kat bars.
The Kit Kats for today only had Japanese writing on them with no picture and I had to search for a translator online to help. Found out that they were green tea. They were... very strange. I think if I knew what flavor I was eating it would have made more sense to my taste buds. According to Wikipedia, "Marketing for Kit Kats in Japan is believed to have benefited from the coincidental false cognate with "Kitto Katsu", a phrase meaning "You will surely win" in Japanese. Some market research has shown that the brand is strongly correlated to good luck charms, particularly among students ahead of exams." And back then, having just come out of my relationship with my fiancé and living in a completely foreign new state with no job yet, I could use all the luck anyone would send me! Why are my friends so good to me?
I taste tested all of them as I devoured every single one (partially due to the fact that I didn't have a lot of food around that time to begin with). My findings were that peanut butter Kit Kats are pretty good (not as good as Reese's which I love, but Reese's is like professional at that kind of peanut butter/chocolate combination). And strawberry was my favorite at first, until the cherry cheesecake flavored ones beat those by a nose.
AND ALSO...
WHERE: King's Sushi (9125 W Broad St & 9111 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA)
Once I was successfully living in Richmond, I found my new sushi joint which really has been the only place to ever tie with Jimmy's Sushi. It's called King Sushi, and as far as Virginia goes, it is the absolute best Sushi joint down here! It's part buffet but also table service-- you pay one price and then just keep pointing at the menu, ordering things until your stomach feels like it might explode with food... but like in a happy way, you know? heh. I'll never get tired of this place. It filled my heart with the power of sushi when I could no longer go to Jimmy's, so it definitely gets a nod.
AND ALSO...
WHERE: Random Pocky snacks and Universal Yum Yums Subscription Box
I have also had my fair share of Pocky chocolate-coated biscuit sticks just being around a lot of people who are into anime at geek conventions and such.
Universal Yum Yums has also been a great place for me to get some Japanese snacks. In May 2017, they send a box of kawaii snacks and treats, my favorite being the little baby gummy hamburgers that made me feel like I was a giant Godzilla here to eat all the human food in one bite. Rawr!! Always fun to chow down on some Japanese treats when playing Sushi Go (such an adorable game, btw!).
AND ALSO...
WHERE: EPCOT Festival of The Arts 2020
Also want to just point out the frozen sake they have in Epcot. Sake might have been first produced in 500 BC with its invention predating recorded history, but freezing the traditional rice wine is a new style of eating it straight out of Florida. A little of the new world and old world, creating something so very tasty. I think all alcohol drink should be slushies! I would drink so many more of them that way. I ran away that weekend, heading out of town because I was annoyed and needed to go someplace other than home for a while and I just somehow ended up at Disney that Valentine's Day.
In my own drunken social media words, "I'm drunk in Japan in EPCOT drinking frozen sake. There are some manic episodes I regret, but this is not one of them."

Food and Wine Festival
Food and Wine Festival
Tom Holland x Reader
Warnings: Fluff and Food
Summary: A trip to Disney World, but seeing it in a new light.
A/N: This is my first of two works I have for @peeterparkr and @marvelousxtsh (now @lovestrucktom) for their Rom Coms writing challenge. Both of them are separate from one another. I am VERY LATE on this, but I had to get my college readings annotated before band camp starts because I know I will have no time then to work at all.
#mandnchickflicksummer
I’ve only been to Epcot once on a band trip and I realized why I don’t like it (or maybe it’s just my family). I tried to do some research before writing this. Comments and feedback are always appreciated. Requests are open and Messages are open if you want to chat. I’m trying to make these shorter because I’m behind on some of my writing. Also, sorry for not really putting the events in order by where they are in the park. I haven’t been there in years and forget how it’s set up. P.P.S. As I was googling stuff, the question came up on what phd does Dr. Doofenshmirtz have on reddit? The person who asked had a username of u/SEND_ME_YOUR_D1CK and that made me laugh at 5 a.m. I’m going to link the two videos that helped me out. One is from Disney Food Blog which gives great coverage on disney snacks in all parks and one is a vlog from one of my favorite youtubers, Syndicate (on his Life of Tom vlog channel)

P.S. Ok, I’ve now seen Far From Home because I won a bet and my mom said she’d take me to see my first Marvel movie in theaters. I’m going to write something else about what happened that day. ♡

Song Prompt:
1. I see the light – Tangled
Word count: 1,383
This ended up being so much longer than I intended.
"Tom. Please. I've been to Disney World a million times. I can probably make it around Magic Kingdom without a map that's how well I know it." It was late summer, before the hussle of school and work swept everyone away, Tom wanted to get away for a mini vacation with you.
“Please come with me. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. And you know how much Disneyland freaks out when there's a celebrity there. Also, you can go on different things that you wouldn't normally go on.” You don’t like to admit when he’s right. Your family can be a little controlling when it comes to vacations. Like why does a baseball game need to be involved in every one.
“You know that won’t stop people from coming up to you.”
“We’ll just wear our matching bucket hats and be that couple. Please.” You couldn’t resist his puppy pout anymore, and you both needed a break.
“Ok, as long as we don't go on roller coasters if I get sick from one.”
“I won't make you go through that. Especially the amount of stories you tell me about someone being sick on vacation.”
After a long plane ride and a good night's rest, you two are ready for a trip. You got your backpack with the old school Disney World logo ready to get your weekly tickets. You got the tickets while Tom was spending time with a couple people who noticed him. You both never minded it as long as they were respectful. You thank the lady as Tom heads back to where you’re standing.
“Ok, you want to head to Epcot first?”
That five letter word made you choke on your own spit. You followed Tom up the railway to the monorail. As you waited in line, you felt the need to tell Tom what's been eating at your mind. “Tom, you know I don't really like Epcot that much.”
“What! Why?”
“Well, the only other time I've been here was with my family once we went on the band field trip here. You know my dad never keeps his opinion to himself about how he thinks all of this ozone layer and eco saving thing is bullshit and how he hates culture. He just kinda complained that whole day, so I've never liked the park. Also, there's more food than rides here and you know I’m not a big food guru.”
“Is your dad coming with us?”
“What?”
“Is your dad coming on our vacation with us?”
“No. But what does that-.”
“Then his opinion and voice should not affect our judgement.” To be fair, Tom has changed your opinion on a lot of things, football (English kind) being one of them. You just didn't know if you could shut up that annoying tick in the back of your head that repeats all the things your Dad would say about this place, but you were willing to give it a shot. You grabbed a food passport and map in front of the golf ball and off you two went.
Before entering the park, you booked fastpasses for the one thing you knew you loved at Epcot, and that was Sorin’. It felt like you had wings and earth with its gravity could never take hold of you again. Even with the fastpasses the line wasn’t too long because people wanted to be the first to get the food in all the countries. It reminded you how Harry would have his drones to get the cinematic videos of the ocean washing up on the beach that look gorgeous. But alas, you had to touch ground again and continue.
You two went to have a good time eating stuff. Like you wanted to order everything from the Irish stand, except the alcohol which Tom took so you could keep the decorative cup (best boyfriend ever), so you settled on chocolate pudding with custard and the two of you split the Irish sausage with potatoes and gravy. You two weren’t worried about overfilling yourselves because 1) everyone does that at the food and wine festival and 2) there weren’t many rides that could make you throw up afterwards.
You grab a Light Lab Phosphorescent Phreeze (you secretly wanted to collect all the cups you could) and signed up to do a Perry the Platypus adventure in the UK (just to see if Tom liked their stereotyping). “Okay, well this is from and American Disney Show Phineas and Ferb where they do a bunch of crazy stuff during the summer, and the subplot is their pet platypus is a secret agent that stops this not-so-good supervillain every episode. Dr. Dofesnberg-something was his name. You basically have to go to different shops within the country, follow the story video on our phone, and some objects will move as you interact with stuff. Basically stopping this guy from carrying out his completely elaborate and unnecessary evil scheme to rule the world.”
“Okay, and of course it’s about golf. How can you get more British than that.” Apparently the adventure included tea once you told the cashier a secret word phrase, so yes, it got more British than golf.
You guys stopped by Canada and you could not stop doing impressions of Ryan Renolds as you stopped for a quick snack as the Perry the Platypus mission took an hour. You ordered a Canadian Cheddar Cheese and Bacon soup with pretzel rolls to split (of which you only at the pretzels because even Tom doesn’t know why you don’t like bacon).
After the Frozen ride and a couple more snacks along the way you settled in China and watched some acrobatics and get out of the heat. You couldn’t do everything in Mexico, but the San Angel Inn would be a place you save for a different trip. You got your faces painted to be half skulls with decorative details. It definitely helped you get recognized less.
Last stop of the night before the fireworks/water show you traveled to Japan. The architecture was realistic and you just thought of the time it took for someone to design and construct that. You both waited in line to try to see if you could get a pearl out of an oyster. You both end up getting one with the lady being very excited for you two. “Mine was 7 ¾ mm, and what was your Tom?”
“7 ½ mm. But you know size doesn’t matter.”
It wasn’t long before the fireworks and lights danced on the water’s surface and you two were heading back from a long day. Tom wanted to take the ferry boat back complaining that the line for the monorail was too long. It always is but the boat was very slow. You gave into his wishes because he was the one who made you enjoy the park today. You stood over the bow of the ship looking at your reflection upon the water until Tom broke you from your thoughts.
“So, didn't I say you would have a good time?”
“Yes you did. My dad's opinion did not affect my judgement as much as I thought it would. It’s still hard to see things with my own opinion, but I’m getting better at it. Thank you Tom.”
“My pleasure princess. Maybe next time we can crack some oysters and keep the pearl” You two share a sweet kiss and the fireworks in Magic Kingdom across the water started going off. Nothing could make this moment more romantic. “But there's still one more thing to do tonight.”
“Thomas Stanley Holland. Do NOT follow that statement with ‘when we get back to the hotel’.”
He laughed so much that he leaned back and his eyes crinkled in the corners. “Not what I was going to say darling.” You’re still confused at his intentions, until he starts playing music from his phone and holds your arms out while you two are on the tip of the boat; keeping his hands on your hips.
“Only you could turn this into a Titanic moment. “I'm flying Jack. I'm flying.”
The moment had gotten better once you realized Tom had asked a crew member to take your picture, and now you have a new phone background and a new perspective.

Have a Magical Day 1/?
Pairing: Chris Evans x You, Chris Evans x OFC
Summary: A deserved break from work with your best friend turns your life upside when you meet the Evans Family while at Disney World. Follow along as Belle and Chris get to know each other over 10 days at the Most Magical Place on Earth™. Will they have a fairytale happy ending or is this just a vacation fling?
Warnings: Disney Rides Spoilers?, Mild Swearing, Chris Evans is a big kid, Fluff, Eventual Smut, long ass descriptions of rides, I don’t know how to write without turning it into a 10K fic, sorry ‘bout that
“Well, maybe next time we ‘Drink Around the World’ you’ll listen to me. I told you we should’ve eaten a pretzel in Germany or Fish and Chips at England.”
This was supposed to be your first night at Epcot and now your best friend was drunk and looking like hell warmed over.
“Bitch don’t talk food to me damnit, I’m so close to throwing up.” He leaned back into the bench and pinched his eyes. ‘Look, I’m sorry alright, I know it’s tradition, but Illuminations will have to wait till next week. I’m walking back to the Boardwalk, the fresh air might help, you stay and enjoy Extra Magic Hours.”
You sighed and asked if he was sure he’d make back to the hotel and he waved you off, saying it’s like walking backing home, which was true, you ever only stayed at The Boardwalk Villas as that was your DVC resort.
“OK, I’m skipping the firework and going back to Future World, Test Track was down all afternoon and I just looked at the app and it’s back on.” You kissed his cheek and he knew he was a bit better when he exclaimed ‘ewww girl slob’ at you, pulling a face.
You left him by International Gateway and started to your left when you heard someone behind you.
“Excuse me miss, you said Test Track was back on?” a sharp voice asked.
Turning around you saw a group of about 10 people, adults and a couple of kids plus a stroller. The voice belonged to one of the three males, he was tall, had on a character black shirt and had a NASA baseball cap pulled down low on his head.
“Yes? I just checked the app two minutes ago.” You pulled your phone from your shell cross body purse, opened the app again and confirmed it’s on. “Are you guys on site? Extra Magic Hour is on till 11 pm.”
“We are! We arrived this afternoon and didn’t look at the time schedule yet, thanks!” A short brunette answered you.
“No problem, you guys have a magical day.” You groaned when your cast member training kicked in.
Waving, you start to walk but could hear them talking and when you looked back the guy who had first talked to you, a shorter blond guy and the brunette girl had broken from the group and were now a few paces behind you.
You knew him from somewhere, didn’t you? When your mind couldn’t provide the answer, you shrugged.
You made your way through England and Canada, people watching as you went. People were lining up near the lagoon to watch Illuminations but seeing it alone wasn’t the same and you continued your way. You debated whether or not to stop at Starbucks and 15 minutes later you’re happily sipping on your Iced Caramel Macchiato while walking the corridors of Mouse Gear on a brisk pace.
You were checking your Twitter feed, head down and immersed on your phone when you walked into a wall. Because that what felt like right, who on earth was that hard?
“Ughh,” looking up you saw the same man from before, hat even lower now. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry”.
You both said it at the same time, while you put your phone away.
“No, no, I was on my phone and didn’t see you there. You’re okay?”
You were near one of the least used exits of the store, and for a moment you thought that he as hiding. You quickly put that thought away, why would someone hide inside Mouse Gear anyways?
“No, I’m the one who’s sorry, I was… some people saw…” he scrunched his nose, rubbing his eyes with both hands.
“Don’t sweat it, crowds can be a bitch sometimes.” You had seen your fair share of people having panic attacks, anyone could have them. “I’m glad I didn’t pour my drink all over you. Sorry again.”
Just when you turned to leave you saw his companions looking around and making their way over.
“Hey Ch…” the blond stopped when he saw you. He looked at you a little suspicious. “Hey.”
“Hi again! I’m glad you’re here, your friend’s not really doing well, but he does a nice wall cosplay!”
“She’s cool man, I wasn’t looking where I was going, and we collided. She’s been keeping me company while my panic attack goes away.” He looked funny when he said panic attack but you let it go. He turned to you, “Meet my brother and my sister, Scott and Shanna. I’m… Chris.”
Oh. OH.
“Nice to meet you all, I’m Belle.” You’re prepared for the reactions that followed because let’s face it, that was just too much of a coincidence.
“Like the princess?
“No, you’re not!”
“It suits you.”
The last one came from Chris. That wasn’t new but wasn’t a norm either. You choose to ignore the blush rising on your neck and turned to the others.
“It’s Isobel... But Belle is easier. It was nice meeting you guys, see you around.”
You had the feeling the Scott Evans wasn’t overly fond of you, so you made yourself scarce. You heard someone calling for you to wait, but you’re already halfway through the door.
Captain freaking America. Talk about timing.
You heard the last booms signaling Illuminations was over and hurried to Test Track before the throng of people descended from World Showcase.
The few day guests are still in line, but you went through the single rider line and was quickly seated. Although you loved the thrill the ride offered, they placed you on your least favorite seat, so you made your way back to the front entrance and got into the normal line, scanning your Magic Band to show you’re staying at one of the Disney hotels and could ride during the extra time.
Making your way through the queue you got to the designing room and was excited to design a cool car. You had just started when someone cleared their throat behind you.
“And we meet again!” Chris and his brothers were standing at the same station as you. “I guess we have to share our car making skills.”
“Hurry up, we only have one minute and a half left.” Captain freaking America or not, no one messed your mojo when it was time to design your Test Track model car.
Turning back to the screen you tried to pick the shape of your car, laughing when Chris tried to turn it to a sports car but coming up with a beetle-like car. You argued about the color and accessories, pushing each other from the control panel and when the countdown reached zero, you had a bit of a Frankenstein car in front of you.
“It’s… cute?” you laughed when the green stripped car turned around the screen. Not your best work for sure, but you’d had a good time.
“It’s something alright, but cute it ain’t.”
You both laughed and Chris scanned his magic band to lock the car to your group and the doors opened to the final part of the queue.
“After you, Mademoiselle,” you laughed when he sang the first few lines of Be Our Guest when you did a little curtsy.
Scott was right behind you in line and he holds your elbow when the queue stopped moving.
“Sorry about earlier, I’m kinda protective about my brother.”
“It’s all good really. Water, bridges and all that.” you reserved judgment on the younger man, understanding his need to protect his family’s privacy. “You said you arrived today?”
“Yeah, unpacked and came straight to EPCOT, had dinner at Le Cellier,” Shanna said from somewhere behind Chris. She was a tiny thing when compared with her muscled big brother. “We’re heading back but heard you talking to your friend about Test Track and here we are!”
“Yeah, it’s down most of the day, we arrived around noon and every time I searched the wait times Test Track was unavailable. I’m glad they got it back together for EMH.”
“What about you Belle? It’s not your last day or anything is it?” Well, that was… interesting? Chris seemed eager somehow and on the back of your mind you chucked it for anxiety. Hadn’t you read somewhere he had anxiety? “Your friend seemed upset when he said you’d miss Illuminations.”
The queue moved and you could see the cars on the loading dock.
“It’s our little tradition, Corey and I came up with it like 10 years ago. We have to watch a fireworks show on our first park day. But he overdid it during the afternoon, especially because we were already a little drunk from Jelly Rolls last night.” They were next in line now. “How do you wanna play this?”
“First row!” You jumped when both Scott and Shanna screamed.
“Any place is fine really,” Chris said.
“Well, I’ a firm believer in the back row, right side, so you can have the left.” You looked around and saw that the single rider line was now closed. “With the number of people here, I don’t think they’re gonna force single riders on us.”
The cast member manning the loading area asked you how many but it was Scott who answered. A girl pointed you to the last loading station, the cars pulling up as you walked.
“You went to Jelly Rolls last night?” Chris asked, a hand out to help you enter the ride.
“Thank you. Yes, we arrived yesterday and mostly hanged on the Boardwalk. Saw some magic shows and had a way later night than we’d planned. But Jelly Rolls was awesome, I love the place and the sangria was so good.”
Chris nodded, sitting down and sprawling his long legs. “We love the place, there’s just something about live karaoke with a band, people are either really good or really fucking bad, it’s fun either way!”
The four of you snapped on your seat belts while you talked, and the car launched to the checkpoint. The girl making the checks must’ve been either new or slacking because she never asked Chris to remove his hat.
The car launched again, the usual spiel starting and then you’re off, speeding on the make-believe vehicle safety test drive. A particular turn had you moving on your seat so bad a hand shot out to hold you in place, landing on your knee and staying there. The fastest part of the ride arrived and everyone screamed, the wind outside making you tear up a little. Chris almost lost his hat and you made a mental note to send a memo to the ride’s crew leader.
Then it was over. The car made its way to the unloading dock while you clapped and then you’re cleared to open your seatbelts.
“Well, now we know why they put six people in the car, I was afraid you’d fly out of your seat when we hit 85 mph.” Chris again helped you out the car.
Gosh, that was fun, wasn’t it? You smiled at him waiting for Scott who had his seatbelt stuck somehow. Then an idea struck you.
“You guys wanna go again?” you took a chance because you’re having fun and damnit, he might be Captain freaking America but he was also cute as hell with that thick beard, plump lips and blue eyes, and if you could prolong this just one ride more, well, why not?
“Won’t we lose too much time going around front again? Looks like there are quite a few people in line behind us.” Chris looked at you and you could see the cogs turning inside his head, a frown forming. Maybe he thought he’d use his status to get another ride? You scoffed. As if.
“Nah, I got connections man.” You grinned at him and went to the guy you knew was the person in charge. Patrick laughed and hugged you with one arm, claiming you need to catch up before calling on his radio and them directed you again to the last dock.
“Thanks, Patrick, I owe you one” you bumped fists before the car moved forward.
This time when the car moved to the checkpoint a young man asked Chris to remove his hat. He did it with a sigh, fingers trying to tame the hair back in place and you had to struggle a giggle when the other guy working on the checkpoint squeaked.
You kept on a detached face and send a smile his way. The man was here to have fun, the best you could do was not bring attention to who he was. Besides, you were really enjoying his laid back attitude. He could’ve used a guide or gone through backstage, but here he was, waiting for his time in the queue like everyone else and you’re the one actually using your job to get what you wanted.
Chris once again helped you out and you were tempted to run your fingers through Chris’ hair, the wind had played havoc with the locks.
“This is the best ride ever, my favorite by far.” Shanna skipped ahead to see the automated picture and scan her Magic Band to move it to their Disney account.
You walked behind with Chris and Scott and it took you a few seconds to realize you still were holding hands with Chris. You raised an eyebrow at him but he just shrugged, a smile on his lips.
“Mine is definitely the whole Avatar area and of course Flight of Passage,” Scott said and then also raised an eyebrow at Chris but he got a friendly tap to the head when tried to actually point it out.
“Nah, it’s the classics, the best will always be Space Mountain.” He took the NASA cap off again, turning it backward when the three of you got outside and he did it all without letting go of your hand. Impressive fella, wasn’t he?
“Sorry to burst your bubble but Space Mountain sucks, at least here in Florida. My knees hurt just thinking about it.” You faked a shudder, also making a face for good measure.
“Oh, them be fighting words!” Chris tickled your side making you squirm and laugh.
Shanna reappeared a few seconds later, asking where to next.
You’re having way too much fun but didn’t want to intrude and started to say goodbye when both Shanna and Chris protested.
“No, no, come with us, you don’t need to hang out alone, what’s the fun in that?” Chris was right by your side when you turned to leave. He cocked his head to the side, beckoning you back to him.
“Are you sure you don’t mind? I don’t want to impose or anything.”
“Believe me when I say I don’t do anything I don’t want to. Come on.” His little hand wave calling you to him was enough to give you butterflies in your belly as you took his hand, lacing your fingers together.
“Again I ask, where to?” Shanna pulled free the sweater she had tied around her waist and put it on and you realized that the early December night was indeed a bit chilly but you didn’t have a sweater and Mouse Gears was closed during the extended hours.
“Anyone up for Mission: Space?” Chris wasn’t looking at anyone when he asked but rummaging around the left pocket of his long shorts. With a little ‘aha’ he found what he was looking for and before straightening up now wearing a pair of prescription glasses.
Your uterus may or may not have imploded at the sight, but you’d never tell.
Clearing your throat, you shook your head.
“You guys go ahead, if I set foot inside one of those enclosed capsules after 11 drinks in three hours, I’ll make the girl in The Exorcist look like she just burped a little.”
Scott guffawed, doubling over, hands on his knees. “Oh, that was fun! Ok, girlie, you’re an okay person, I give whatever this is my blessing!” He moved your hand between you and Chris.
“For fuck’s sake Scott!” Chris groaned, his free hand slapping his forehead.
“Why thank you messier, merci beaucoup.” You took off an imaginary hat to him and he returned the gesture chuckling.
“Don’t go getting your tighty whities in a bunch brother,” Scott grabbed Shanna by the arm and brought her closer to him. “$50 bucks for your sweater, Shanna.”
“No Scott, next time you listen to Mom. I say no to Mission Space, yes to Nemo.” She said looking at Chris.
“Mine.” Scott pulled at her sweater.
“Are they always like this?” you stage whispered to Chris.
“Sometimes I say they’re distant cousins, but the fucker looks way too much like me for that to stick.” He laughed when following Scott and Shanna with his eyes, his brother was running after Shanna screaming ‘mine, mine, mine’ Shanna was doing a great job evading Scott till he faked left and grabbed her by the arm when she tried to go right. “Children!”
“You playing a hot dad next? Might need a few tips from Pratt for that.” The hand that smacked Scott upside the head was Shanna’s. “Watch the hair woman.”
“Just how much sugar have you guys had so far?” You could barely keep up with them, but they were fun to be around. Like oversized retriever puppies. Times a million or something.
“Not enough Miss Connections, but I’ll have the tea anyway.” Scott fell into step next to you as you walked by Fountain of Nations.
“You speak gay? Are you and my friend Corey cut from the same cloth my dear Scott?” you ask and he laughs next to you.
“Sparkly lumberjack? Hell yes. Now come on, gimme, I hate cold tea.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about and I don’t think I want to know.” Chris shook his head. What a sweet beautiful Labrador, you just wanted to eat him up with a spoon.
“He wants to know what’s my job with Disney.”
“Oh, in that case, I wanna know too. What gives?”
“I’m one of the four VPs for Media and Public Relations.” You proudly say. You had worked hard for that job, starting as rider operator way back then, putting yourself through college while working long hours under the hot Floridian sun.
“Oh, fancy. I thought you worked here, you seen to know everyone.” Scott commented.
“I worked here for 15 years. Ride operator, character handler, parade dancer…” she lowered her voice, “I was also friends with my namesake and Snow White for two years as well.”
“You’re friends with Belle? Oh, OH!” Chris’ eyes widened. “You’ve played the princesses.”
“Never, ever say that.” You looked around. “You say Marvel has snipers but so does Disney! All princess and characters are real; we just get to be friends with them. Know what I mean?”
“Sorry! I consider myself pretty versed in Disney speak but I never heard that one before.”
“Yeah, manly cast members know that one.” You agreed. “After I graduated I worked my way up to Media Relations here in Orlando and two years ago I finally got my dream job, and I’ve been in Los Angeles since then. I work with promotions, social media, and influencers. It’s a pretty sweet job.”
“Need an assistant?” Shanna asked as you entered the line for Nemo. “That sounds pretty rad!”
“Do you have any experience in PR?”
You separated into two groups when the cast member asked ‘how many’, Chris and Scott, you and Shanna. You entered your shell with the brunette still talking about a possible job and what she’d need to get it.
On the other shell, Chris looked confused.
“Did she just ditched me?” He asked his brother dumbfounded.
Scott laughed and shook his head.
“Oh, how the mighty have fallen.” He laughed again. “Welcome to the real world brother! Not everyone will fawn over you, as hard it is to believe it!”
“I thought we’re hitting it pretty well,” he got comfortable on the ride vehicle, taking off his hat so he could see the aquariums and screens where Dory, Marlin, and Nemo played, “did I read it all wrong?”
“Nah, she’s into you as well, as far as I could see.” Scott nodded. “She strikes me as a sisters before misters kinda woman, and she was talking to Shanna while we waited we queued.”
Chris uhmed in agreement.
He hoped you’re not putting up a front for him, because he liked you from the moment he bumped into you at Mouse Gears. He saw the moment you realized who he was but you had been pretty cool so far, and besides the sniper comment, you hadn’t made a big deal out of it. Definitely a breath of fresh air, it had been a while since he could be himself outside his immediate circle of friends. The fact you knew that joke told him you had seen some of his or his co-star interviews but as you worked handling the media and social media accounts for Disney he believed seeing footage of his movies was part of your job and that put his mind at ease and he decided to give that little spark between you a chance.
You were beautiful, full heart-shaped lips, long mahogany hair, aquamarine eyes, and a soft but toned body. He wanted to get to know you better, see if you felt the same connection he did.
The ride reached the end and he saw you getting out, still talking to Shanna.
“I mean it, send it to me, I’ll see what I can do.”
“The fact that I’d have to move to Los Angeles is a concern, but that kind of job would be fun. Thanks, Belle, I’ll think about it.”
“You’re most welcome. But don’t forget, I can only get your foot inside the door, you’d have to walk whenever you want to be by yourself.” You saw Chris and Scott approaching and a huge smile broke up on your face. “How about we go fly around the world?”
“Yes, finally! Soarin’ has been calling my name since we left Test Track!” Scott exclaimed.
He linked his arms with Shanna and dragged her along in front of you and Chris.
“He’s not very subtle, is he?” You questioned Chris when he stepped next to you.
Chris laughed and put his baseball cap back on backward. He looked ridiculously handsome, his longish hair escaping on the sides, his black ‘I am smiling’ Grumpy T-shirt stretched along his hard chest and biceps, black and white basketball shorts hugging that delectable ass he had. You licked your lips and gave him your brightest smile when he caught you staring.
“I guess neither is you.” He winked at you and grabbed your hand.
“Yeah, sue me, I refuse to play the virgin giggling girl when I see something I like.”
“Do you see me complaining?”
You shook your head as you play catch up to Shanna and Scott, who were already inside The Land pavilion.
“You never answered when I asked you if this was your last day,” Chris said while you rode the escalator to the lower floor.
“It isn’t; we’re staying for 10 days.” You saw Scott waving you over to the ride entrance. “Why’s that?”
Before Chris had a chance to answer Shanna bellowed.
“Come on slowpokes! We’re wasting time here.”
“Can we go on Living with The Land before Soarin’? I forgot it was open during EMH. I’ve never seen it at night.”
“Oh come on Scott, Living is so boring!” Shanna complained.
“Living with the Land is not boring,” Chris argued back, siding with Scott.
“It is so.”
“Not.”
“Children!” You waved a hand between them and they stopped. “How ‘bout this, we do Soarin’ once, get back to Living and quickly backtrack and do Soarin’ again?”
“Finally, someone with a plan.” Chris clapped. “But do we have time?”
You checked your watch.
“There are 45 minutes left before the park closes, I believe we can make it if we hurry.”
“Let’s do this then.
You hurried up the queue for Soarin’, once again cursing Disney Imaginners for making it so freaking long. There was a decent amount of people in front of you when you got to the split before the theaters. If things were the same there would be only one theater open for the extended hours and with about 150 people on the queue it would take about 10 minutes to get to the front of the line.
Scott lowered his voice.
“Now remember, it’s B1 or nothing alright? I don’t want to look up and see dangling feet in front of me.”
“Ah, a man after my own heart.” You agreed.
“Have you seen the new film? I liked it but I miss the old one.” Chris commented. “I was hoping they’d keep the Soarin’ Over California in Anaheim but they are all the same now.”
“I really like the soaring around the world aspect, but I miss the orange smell. Childhood memories and all that.” You walked over to the line for the first row of the second string of seats, dead center inside the theater. Those were indeed the best seats in the house and you’re surprised Scott knew about them.
“This is not our first rodeo, Miss Connections! We’ve been coming to Disney twice a year for the past thirty plus years, sometimes more if Chris can swing it.” Scott explained. “You’ve probably even seen us before, or operated a ride while we were on it.”
“You’re probably right!” Shanna gasped. “Oh my god, you might even be in our pictures, Belle.”
“No way, I would remember taking pictures with this hot beefcake by my side.” You pointed to Chris making it seem he was showing him off with your hands.
“But would you really?” Chris said in a lower voice. “I barely remember the face of the girl who asked me for a picture this morning at the airport. How many pictures you would take in one day?”
You looked shocked, they did have a point. Could you really be in a picture with Chris and his family?
“There were always two friends taking turns during the set but it was a freaking lot. Akershus alone might make that number reach a thousand during the holidays.”
“I’m pulling all the photo albums from the library when we get back home, I’m really curious right now!”
Shanna looked excited at the prospect of finding you in their family photos, and you tried to jog your memories of thousands of families you met over the years. Chris was right, there was no way you could have remembered them, especially if it was before his Captain America days.
You talked through the whole pre-boarding video and were now being directed to your seats. B1 was a popular choice so Scott played buffer and sat between Chris and the other guest, you sat beside Chris with Shanna by your side. He waited till the cast member checking the seatbelt got to him before removing his hat and sticking it on the bin below his seat.
The ride started and the music swirled around you as the seats were lifted from the ground, making it appear as you were indeed soaring around big blue skies, mountains, and lakes around the world. You smiled as the powerful aroma of roses reached your nose while flying over the Taj-Mahal, giggling when the sea breeze smell reached your nose when you glided over Fiji and squealing when the turned upwards to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower. Soarin’ was probably your favorite ride in all parks and the smile on your face when the ride ended with fireworks over Epcot was a testament to that.
You unbuckled your seatbelt and were one of the first out of the theater, walking so fast a cast member reminded you no running was allowed. Chris sent a sorry his way but your group didn’t slow down, cruising the corridors to get to Living with The Land.
Shanna checked his watch when you got there and cheered when there was only a family of three in line for the boat.
“Ok, guys 27 minutes left. How long is this ride anyway? I want to ride Soarin’ again!”
They all turned to you waiting for an answer.
“20 minutes.” You said and Shanna groaned. “We’re gonna cut close, but as long as we’re inside the queue for Soarin’ before 11 pm they will let us in. We might not get B1 again though.”
“It’s ok, we’re coming back to Epcot to hit more of the food booths anyway, I can live without the best seats for once.” Scott nodded.
You let the family in front of you get on the boat that was docked and waited for the next one. Thankfully there was no one else behind you so you got the next boat all to yourselves.
Scott seated with Shanna, who immediately opened her phone, earning a glare from Scott.
You sat with Chris two rows behind them, Chris entering first and offering you his hand to help you inside the boat.
“Why thank you, Prince Charming.” You accepted his hand, noticing he didn’t let go when you sat beside him. Which suited you just as well because you had your own plans for him.
“I thought I was Prince Adam to your Belle?” He got closer as the boat started its journey through different types of nature scenes, putting his arm around your shoulder as you entered the rain forest and the boat waved a bit.
Oh, he was a smooth one. You grinned at him and scooted a little closer your sides now pressed together.
“You know Adam is not an official name right?”
“That’s not possible, his name’s Adam.” He doubted you.
“Nope, he’s never named during the animation. The actor who voices him is just credited as ‘Beast’.”
You loved Disney Trivia and could quote the most obscure facts and anecdotes about the parks, movies, and Walt’s life.
“Well, my childhood has been ruined. Thank you for that.”
He tickled your sides in retaliation, making you squirm and giggle. When you tried to tickle him back he grabbed your hands and pinned them down between the two of you.
Your laugh subsided when you noticed Chris looking at your lips and you subconsciously licked them because they suddenly felt dry as sandpaper. He looked at your eyes and back to your mouth in a silent question, blue eyes searching your face for what could happen next.
You nod almost imperceptibly and Chris smiles, leaning towards you, full lips slighted parted.
“How much trouble would I be if plucked a miracle fruit from the tree over th… oh my bad!”
Chris curses his brother and you blink away the nervousness that surrounded you.
“Do not try to pick up a berry, that’s cause for revoking your annual pass and you’ll be escorted out of the park.” You speak as you try to control your beating heart.
“No way!”
“I’ve been the one waiting for the poor soul at the end of the ride Scott. Not a very fun part of the job and also so many forms to fill out.”
Maybe it was better this way. You knew you were attracted to each other but all rides were full of cameras, it’d only take one less than honest cast member to sell the footage to TMZ anyway.
Chris didn’t try to kiss you again but kept on holding your hand as the boat glided over the murky water, passing through the suspended hydroponics plants, the self-sustained display with fish and plants and finally reaching the end of the ride.
The boat wasn’t even properly docked and Shanna was already on the move, making a tight turn on the tunnel leading to Soarin’.
You had two minutes to get there before they closed the queue so you hurried over, Chris pulling you along, your legs barely keeping up with his stride.
You entered the line with seconds to spare and as soon as you did the cast member pulled a rope behind you, indicating the end of operation hours.
The four of you laughed while making your way up to concourse C, the only theater that was open.
“I don’t think I’ve run so much at Disney before.” Scott breathlessly said.
“That’s because you have an escort who gets you backstage and takes you to the front of the line! Us mere mortals are the ones queueing for six hours for Flight of Passage.”
“As if you ever waited that long.” Shanna quipped from the front of the line.
“Uhm… who’s to say I didn’t?” You winked at her. Chris looked at you quizzically. “Okay, so maybe I haven’t, but I’ve done the running thing before, I do wonder to the dark side and Escape from Gringotts is almost as bad as Flight of Passage. People run like crazy mofos to get there.”
“You cheat on the Mouse?” Scott put a hand over his heart.
“Say it louder to the people in the back.” You hit him in the shoulder. You turn to one of the corners of the queue, playing as if there was a camera there. You move your hand as if bowing, “It’s all lies oh Big Cheese who reigns supreme and all hear and all see, I’d never cheat on you!”
Chris guffawed, both hands grabbing his chest.
“You’re crazy!” He laughed.
“Shhhhh, you never know who’s listening!” You winked at him.
As it turned out there were only four other people waiting for the last flight of the night and as you approached the end of the line you were directed to B1 anyway, as each row of seats sat 10 people each.
You decided to let all brothers be together and sat on the outside this time, Chris by your side.
He turned to say something to you at the same time you leaned over to let him know there was a hidden Mickey on the flight over Monument Valley and his lips grazed yours. You both paused, surprised at the sudden touch. Then he was kissing you for real, full lips pressed over yours, sending sparks all over your body. He brought his right hand to your neck, holding you close as he deepened the kiss, your lips danced together.
As fast as first kisses went, you ranked this one a solid 13 in a one to five scales. He never pressured you to open your mouth or tried to slip you the tongue, his lips were plump and he moved them with purpose, alternating hard pressed and feathered touches. You opened your eyes when he moved away and he gave you a little nod which you returned, grinning at each other.
The ride was over before you knew it and the cast member was ushering you out, saying good night.
Your little group made your way over World Showcase again, you saying goodnight to all cast members you passed by, thanking them for staying back during Extra Magic Hours.
“You sound sincere too,” Shanna commented as you walked the dark path leading you to Canada.
“That’s because I am. Most of them will have a shift no later than 10 am tomorrow and they won’t leave here for another two hours. Sometimes more. Saying thank you is the least I can do.”
“And could you do more?” Chris inquired.
“I can actually. All visiting cast members fill a form when we get back to work, citing areas we think the parks can improve, what was good, bad and exceptional.”
“That’s cool, I wish we could do something like that,” Chris commented.
“Actually you can. In 2014 we introduced Cast Compliments.” The three of them looked at you, never reading about it before. “Say you wanna say something nice about a particular cast member; you get their name, go on Twitter and tag either @DisneylandToday or @WDWToday using the hashtag CastCompliment. Write their name, location, and your motive. We will print your twit, and take a picture of the cast member with it. They also get a mark on their file. Every 5 marks they receive a monetary bonus.”
“Wow, that’s crazy cool. And you came up with this idea?” Shanna was already on her phone looking up the hashtag. She gave the phone to Chris and he scrolled through the feed, smiling at the amount of love being shared.
“My team and I did, together with HR” you nodded.
“That’s amazing and so thoughtful Belle!” Scott was the one looking at the phone now.
“They are the ones keeping the park running after all.” You smiled.
You reached International Gateway, waving to the guards and everyone said goodnight this time.
The temperature had dropped quite a bit and you shivered, Chris immediately pulling you close and running his hands over your arms. You smiled at him in thanks and asked where they are staying.
“We’re at the Grand, it’s our favorite resort,” Chris answered. “How about you?”
“I’m a DVC member, I’m right over there at the Boardwalk Villas.” You pointed to the red building on the other side of the man-made lake.
“Mind we walked you over to the lobby? That way I know we got back home safely and we can call a Minnie Van?” Chris smiled at you.
“Absolutely!”
You crossed the bridge to Boardwalk Inn in silence, just appreciating each other companies. When you reached the well-manicured lawn of back gardens he stopped you, mentioning for his siblings to go ahead.
He brought you under the canopy of a huge tree, giving you a little privacy from the passersby.
“What are you doing tomorrow?” He inquired, his back leaning on the tree trunk.
“My friend and I have brunch reservations at Boma, so we’ll be at Animal Kingdom till around 11 am. Our fast passes are for Hollywood Studios but they don’t start till 3 pm.”
“Damn, we’re staying at the Magic Kingdom all day, the kids really want to see the parade.”
“I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time with your family.” You nodded. It was a shame you would be at different parks but you had fast passes for Slinky Dog Dash and that was one ride, not even you could swing your non-existent badge at the cast member and get in on a whim so you weren’t changing your own plans.
“I will, but I also wanna see you again.” He whined and you giggled, he was the perfect mix of gorgeous man and little boy and the butterflies in your belly certainly agreed. “MK closes at six for the Christmas Party though, and we’re not going till Tuesday. Mind if I join you after we leave?”
“I’d love to see you again too, so I don’t mind it at all. Word of warning though, Corey will freak out, even with me telling him you’ll be joining us, so come prepared.”
“How bad are we talking about?” Chris sighed. You had been so cool-headed about everything, almost no one recognized him today and now your friend was almost guaranteed to make a scene.
“I’ll try to prep him over carbs while we have brunch, but he’ll stare and be mute for a while.” You told Chris the truth. Corey had a major crush on both Chris and Sebastian Stan and was a diehard Stucky shipper. That would be an interesting conversation to have.
“As long as he doesn’t draw attention, I can deal with some staring.” Chris acquiesced. He wanted to spend more time with you, see if there was anything else besides physical attraction drawing him in.
He pulled out his phone and asked for your number before sending you a text so you could have his.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then.” You looked over at him with a little smile. You started walking backward still holding his hand.
“Not so fast!”
Chris pulled you back so fast you fell on his chest with a little oomph. He tilted your head up with two fingers and his lips descended on yours, kissing you long and hard. You gripped the sides of his T-shirt, hands digging on his waist as he held your head closer to him, one hand bunching up your hair, the other touching your neck and cheek in slow circles. You felt his soft beard brushing your skin, heightening your pleasure. A warm feeling spread all over you and you melted into Chris, parting your lips slightly. When his tongue skimmed yours you kissed him harder, tongues touching languidly.
You had been kissed quite well in the past but Chris was definitely the best one so far, he maintained full body contact and he kissed you like he had nothing else to do for the rest of his life. He pulled your lower lip as he broke the kiss, his thumb caressing the bite while he alternated between nips and kisses over your chin and neck.
Your hands got under his T-shirt and ran over the hard v on his waist, circling it to press your thumbs on the dimples on the small of his back. Your fingers touched his back vehemently, nails dragging a line just under the band of his shorts. He rocked against you and you felt him pressed against your belly, your hands itching to get closer.
“God, you’re beautiful.” He whispered against your skin. “I want to take you back to my room and kiss you all over and see if the rest of you are as soft as your lips.”
You shivered again and you weren’t sure if it was the draft wind or your reaction to his words, but you’d put good money on the latter. You felt your hardened nipples and the damp spot in your underwear and a quick look down was enough to see the hard on the basketball shorts could barely conceal. You definitely clicked on a physical level, never a kiss had such an impact on you before.
Your brain took over as you remembered you’re in a public space and you took a little step back, just enough so you could think straight.
“Maybe this is enough for one night.” You exhaled hard, trying to clear your head.
Chris nodded, he never lost control so quickly with anyone before, you barely touched his skin and he was almost rutting you to the ground right by Disney’s Boardwalk.
“Right, you’re right.” He kissed your forehead before pushing himself off the tree trunk and adjusting himself as best as he could. “Want me to walk you to your room?”
“I’m good, let’s not tempt faith, shall we?”
You had rented a two-bedroom suite so you and Corey could have more privacy, so it wouldn’t be hard to sneak Chris back to your room, lock the door and spend the rest of the night learning each other’s body.
He nodded and rested his head over your shoulder. You stayed like that till his phone vibrated on his pocket.
“That was Scott, Minnie van is here.” Chris looked over from his phone. “Thank you for today, for hanging out with me, I really liked it. I really liked you, Belle.”
“I really liked you too Chris.” You pressed a chaste kiss on his lips, hugging him for good measure.
“I’ll text you and we can work out the details for tomorrow ok?” He said while hugging you back.
“Alright.”
Neither of you moved and his phone ringed.
Chris rolled his eyes when he answered.
“I’m on my way meathead, give me one second. No, he won’t leave, you know they can wait for a while. Alright, I’m going, Jesus, hold your damn horses.”
You giggled and let go of him, telling him to go.
“Bye princess Belle.”
With a quick peck on your lips, he was off, taking the stairs to the main floor two at a time.
You stayed at the same spot till he disappeared upstairs before making your way to the Villas side of the Boardwalk, quickening up your pace to get away from the cold air.
Entering your room, you sighed against the door as you closed it.
This had been indeed the most special Extra Magic Hour you ever spent at EPCOT and you couldn’t wait to see what tomorrow would bring.

A quick note about the depression that makes my posting so sporadic. I’m not like sad, or miserable or anything. I literally just have zero energy and a great life. Its a weird combination. But please, don’t feel bad for me lol, I’m okay. I just either sleep or work or hang out with my kids. I write when I can though, and since @ladynonsense said she’d forgive me if I wrote new chapters, here is the next one.

(I didn’t realize how big this tag list got last chapter lol. You guys super rock)
“I apologize for pushing past you. I just saw this photo and, Kendra this looks exactly like me. Is this what you were trying to tell me back at the UN party?” He stated, shocked and alarmed.
“Shit” was all I managed to mumble out.
Time seemed to freeze as we stared at each other, the photo in his hand and the NDA in mine. His question hung in the air, seeming to gain weight by the second. The pit of unease that had formed in my stomach when I realized who Liam was turned and coiled in the space between us. Minutes ticked by that felt like hours while Liam waited for an answer. “Well?” He finally breathed, breaking the silence finally. My brain stuttered, as I fumbled for words. A sentence of any kind would work right now, but I just couldn’t seem to remember how to speak.
Liam ran his free hand through his hair, taking another look at the photo in his hand. I looked at the smiling trio depicted in the photo, memories flashing through my mind.
“I wonder if he would have been a good dad.” I mused, watching my son playing in the small tot play area in the food court. We had spent the better part of the day exploring the Epcot park, and enjoying the different shows and rides. Cadence was a stroller ride away from a deep nap, and my dad and I were almost in a food coma. “Liam?” My dad questioned, we didn’t usually talk about Liam, or the fact that he was no longer in the picture. Once we realized we couldn’t find him, we just decided to leave it at that; but seeing the other kids run over to their parents and back to the lot was a reminder that I was doing this alone.
“Yeah.” I said softly, imagining the muscular blonde playing with the toddler version of him. “Well, you spent more time with him than I ever did.” My dad scoffed. I rolled my eyes at his demeanor. I understood his point, he was a blunt man and never did see the point in wasting time and energy on moot points. From his point of view, Liam was gone and without a way to reach him he became irrelevant to the equation. He wasn’t wrong, but I often wondered how long it would take Cadence to begin wondering where and who his father was. “What am I supposed to tell him when he starts asking about him?”
My dad thought carefully before forming his response, “Perhaps telling him the truth?” I tried not to scoff at his response, “Sure dad, because telling my kid that he was conceived out of a week long sexual exploration wont traumatize him for life.” I said sarcastically. “Jesus, Kendra. I didn’t mean go into details. With him or me.” He mumbled. “I just mean, tell him that his daddy is out there somewhere, we just cant find him.”
“You don’t think that will give him some kind of lost boy complex? I don’t want him to always be searching the crowd for the dad that wont ever turn up.” I said. I remembered my own experiences constantly waiting for my mom to reappear one day, like she never left. I remembered praying everyday that my mom would come home and we could have a normal family like everyone else, not understanding how far from normal the three of us were. “It won’t be like your mom, Kendra.” My dad said, almost reading the silence coming from me. I swallowed, my dad always had the uncanny ability to know what I was thinking I tried to push the painful memories back down. “I have no idea if he would have been a good dad or not. I just know that you are the best mother that you can be for your son, and I think that matters more that what he could or wouldn’t have been.” My dad said finally. I smiled at him, “Thanks for always supporting me dad. Even coming here, although Disney world isn't exactly your scene.”
Cadence came running up, handing me his ears with a string of gibberish before turning around and returning to the play area with the other kids. My dad smiled back, following the toddler with his eyes, “While I agree, overpriced food and large crowds were never at the top of my list; nothing compares to seeing my grandson and my daughter happy.” I smiled at the ears in my hand, Cadences name printed across the front. “C’mon buddy!” I called to Cadence, waving him over. “Lets take a picture.”
“We searched for you for months when I found out I was pregnant.” I finally said, my tongue starting to untwist. My heart slammed into my throat when I finally met Liam’s eyes. The pain in his eyes as they seemed to see straight into my soul was enough to bring my own emotion boiling to the surface. My feet moved on their own towards him, but I froze as he took a step back horrified. “Kendra, you were signing that NDA.” He said as realization coursed through his mind. “You knew that once that was signed I couldn’t contact you. I would never have known about this kid.”
His words were laced with pain, yet his accusation cut straight through me. “What if I had just walked out of here? Not seen this photo and gone to brunch? Got on my plane tonight and never looked back? Would you have ever found me? Told me about my son? Would you have told him? Kendra why didn’t you tell me at the ball?” He said, his voice cracking. My heart shattered into a million pieces, of all the outcomes I expected from him, hurt wasn’t on that list. I expected him to be angry, maybe try to take him. However the pain was an unexpected response, and I realized just how flawed my thought process was.
“Liam you have to understand, that’s my baby. You are an actual king, I have no doubts that I couldn’t stand up to you in court. I can’t lose Cadence, he is my reason to exist.” I stammered out, trying to push the heat behind my eyes back. Liam took a few more steps away from me, “Do you really think I would do that to you? Or that I would rip a child away from is mother and the only life he knows? I thought you knew me better than that.” He said, his eyes showing the depth of emotion behind his statement. I let the tears fall, I should have known better. He was right, my Liam wouldn’t do that. However, “Liam I knew you for a week, years ago. I didn’t even know that the man I gave my virginity too was an actual king.” I blurted.
Liam recoiled for a minute, processing what I told him. I watched as he slowly reassembled his mask in place. My statement pierced the air between us, it was a low blow and I knew it as soon as the words left my mouth. It wasn’t fair of me to throw the king thing in his face, and it wasn’t solving anything. Both of us rode our emotional waves silently, as the silence thickened. Finally Liam swallowed the rest of the tears threatening to spill from behind his eyes and nodded. “You’re right.” He said. I stalled. “What?” I asked, caught off guard by his sudden submission. “You’re right.” He said calmly. If he was feeling any of the emotion he was a few minutes ago, he was no longer showing it.
“I understand.” He stated simply. My mind reeled, he understood? What did that even mean. I studied his face, my own guards clicking into place. “What do you mean I’m right?” I said cautiously, eyeing the man before me. How could I trust someone who could show such intense emotion one minute, then be completely fine the next? Did he pretend he was upset? Or was he just really good at hiding his emotions? Which Liam was the real Liam? Was it my passionate golden haired boy, smiling at me like there wasn’t anyone or anything else in the world? The one who felt deeply, and was earnest and innocent? Or the cool composed man that just discovered he was a father sitting in front of me locking away every inch of emotion he had showed moments earlier.
Liam outstretched his hand to me. “Hi, I am King Liam Rys. I would very much like to get to know you and our son.” He said, his voice cracking lightly over the word son. I eyed his outstretched hand precariously. “Liam are you serious.” I said incredulously, fresh tears rolling down. Liam’s mask went down momentarily, and I saw the hurt resurface in his eyes before he pushed it back down. “Kendra please. You can’t expect me to just get on a plane back to Cordonia and pretend this didn’t happen. But you’re right. This is my fault, I didn’t tell you a pretty large part of my identity. That can make you doubt every fact you’ve ever known about me. For that I am truly sorry, but Kendra I can’t just not be part of my sons life. Please don’t take that away from me.” He pleaded. I already knew the moment he saw the picture on the mantle that I couldn’t go back now.
“I suppose you’re right. I think we both need some time to process, and then we can schedule a time for you two to meet.” I said, my heart soaring at the hope in his eyes. I know that having this secret off my chest should make my heart feel lighter, but a foreboding sense tugged at every nerve in my body. Perhaps if I listened to that nagging sense I could have avoided what was to come in the future.

The Most Magical Place on Earth - Epcot
PART TWO
Summary: You and Jensen go on a vacation with the Padaleckis and get into a little trouble in Epcot
SERIES MASTERLIST
Characters: Reader, Jensen, Gen, Jared, Tom, Shep
Pairings: Jensen x Reader
Word Count: 2000
Warnings: Language, drunk!Jensen, drunk!Reader, very light public smut
A/N: Thank you guys so much for reading. I kinda started writing this after I went on a vacation to Disney a few months ago. I’m looking at it maybe being 4 parts long. This is just supposed to be a fluffy little series, no heartbreak or angst or any of my normal things
This is unbetaed, all mistakes are mine.
“Time to get up babe,” his lips brush over your forehead as he leans over the bed.
“No,” you groan, pulling up the covers, trying to pray away the throbbing in your head.
“I thought you were going to get Jared drunk last night?” He teases and you can hear him walking towards the windows.
“Dont! Jense, don’t you dare open those curtains,” you grumble, your mouth dry as hell.
He chuckles low, coming back over to the bed. You open up the covers, peeking up at him with one eye. He smiles softly, crawling back beside you, pulling you to his chest, “I guess a little longer won’t hurt.”
“Mhmm,” you snuggle against him, tangling your legs with his, “you’re really warm.”
He presses a kiss to your forehead, “Yeah, I got a little burnt yesterday, it’s not too bad.”
“It’s supposed to be hotter today,” you yawn.
“Well we will be drinking our way around the world, so I’m sure I won’t notice.” You guys are going to Epcot around ten but you know Gen and Jared had wanted to get the kids some breakfast, you are probably skipping that now. It’s funny, Jared drunk by himself was a handful, you and Jensen drunk together was a nightmare. It’s like herding cats. Not that either of you got too stupid, just any and all shyness that you had fell away.
You press your face against his, eyes falling shut, “I’m going back to sleep.”
“Go ahead sweetheart,” he runs his fingers through your hair, his other hand finding yours, squeezing it.
“You’re too good to me,” you mumble.
“Nah,” he chuckles and it rumbles through his entire body, but then he stills, brushing your hair back, “I don’t deserve you.”
That wakes you up. You lean back a little so you can look at him, gently touching his face, “What are you talking about Jense?”
He shakes his head, “I don’t tell you that enough… You’re good with my friends, you’re cool about my job-”
“To be fair, you’re cool about me working crazy amounts of hours.”
“And you’re good to me,” he smiles softly.
You giggle, “Well no shit Sherlock...I’m kinda in love with you.”
“I know, but you’d be a good person even if you didn’t, and that’s one of the reasons I love you.”
You can’t help but smile, pressing your lips to his, “Where’s this coming from? You’re usually only a sap when you’re drunk.”
He kisses you back before peppering kisses all over your face, laughing low, “Quiet...I’m pre-drunk.”
“I like pre-drunk Jensen,” you giggle, wrapping your arms tight around him and pulling yourself closer, snuggling up against him.
“Go back to sleep,” he whispers, rubbing your arm.
“I’m working on it,” you yawn, pressing your face to his neck, letting the warmth wash over you.
________
It is a little after seven and you and Jensen are long gone, laughing like idiots. Shep is on your shoulders, Tom is on Jensen’s and you two are bouncing through the crowds, making the kids giggle uncontrollably.
“Pluto!” Shep shouts, pointing at the character as you guys are about to pass it and you stop in your tracks, grabbing Jense’s arm.
“C’mon, let’s get them pictures so Jared and Gen can catch up,” they were a bit behind you, sick of trying to keep up with you two.
“Alright, get off,” Jense growls playfully, lifting Tom off, letting him drop quickly and catching him so the boy squeals and laughs. Shep squirms excitedly until you put him on the ground, and immediately his hand finds yours as you get in line.
“Aunt Y/N/N,” he tugs on your hand.
“What’s up bud?”
“I’m hungry.”
You squeeze his fingers gently, “ We will get some food right after this.”
He nods, smiling excitedly, his attention now focused on Pluto. Jensen’s arm wraps around you and you lean into his side as he leans down and kisses your neck, nipping, making you giggle.
“Knock it off,” you hiss, “we are in public.”
“So?” he does it again, and you laugh, twisting to say something but he catches your lips with his, kissing you deeply.
“Eww,” the boys say together and you and Jensen laugh against each others lips.
“Eww is right,” Jared’s voice booms as him and Gen walk up beside you. She shoots him a bemused look.
Jensen shakes his head, pulling you closer, resting his forehead on your shoulder. You scratch his scalp lightly, only one more family ahead of you guys now. He presses a kiss to your skin, “Another margarita for you after this?”
You giggle low, “Yep, but you gotta step up your drinking game old man. I think I’m a couple up on you.”
“Quiet,” he tries but ends up laughing.
The lady ushers you guys forward and suddenly Shep wraps his arms around Jensen’s leg, too nervous to go up to the oversized dog.
“Whatcha doin’ buddy?” Jensen ruffles his hair.
Shep looks up at his uncle then to Pluto, shaking his head. Jared steps up, squatting by his son, “Do you want me to go with you?”
Shep nods, but still doesn’t let go of Jensen until Jared takes his hand, taking him up to meet the character. You pull out your phone, shooing Gen forward to join them and taking her phone so you can get a family photo of the four of them.
“Smile!” You pry, taking a couple of photos before deciding one of them would be good enough.
Gen comes over to you, flipping through the pictures with a smile, “Thank you.”
You give her a small hug, “No problem.”
“Do you and Jensen want to run off for a bit? You guys have been watching the kids all day.”
“I think they’ve been watching us,” you giggle as Tom runs towards you at a million miles per hour, crashing into your legs with a big hug.
“Uff,” you grunt teasingly and Gen laughs.
“Seriously, you two go have some fun.”
“But I wanna go with Aunt Y/N/N!” Tom says and Shep is right behind him.
“Aunt Y/N/N said we were going to get food!”
“Me and Daddy can get you two food, why don’t we let Aunt Y/N and Uncle Jensen go for a little bit?”
Jensen grabs Shep from behind, flipping him upside down so he giggles manically, squirming like crazy, “Uncle Jensen!”
“What are we doing?” Jensen looks between you and Gen, tickling the wriggling Shep.
Gen grabs her son from Jensen, flipping him upright, “You and Y/N are going to have some kid free time.”
“I don’t mind Gen, really,” Jensen tries, making a face at Shep before looking back to her.
“I know, but you two didn’t come to babysit our kids, you are on vacation too.”
Jensen and you both shrug, it really isn’t a big deal to either of you, you’re family.
“Get lost,” Jared smirks, “I don’t need to see you two making out again.”
Jensen punches him playfully in the shoulder, and even though he has aviators on, you know he rolls his eyes.
Jared shoves him back, “I don’t want to see either of you until the fireworks.”
“I’m sick of your face too Jare,” you stick your tongue out and he laughs.
Jensen laces his fingers through yours and pulls you away from the Padeleckis. You don’t even make it ten steps and his arm finds its way around your waist, “What do you want to do for two hours?”
“Hmm...Well I am hungry, and I am nowhere near drunk enough to spend the night with you,” you tease.
“Ouch,” he laughs, “So margaritas for you and then…”
“Let’s do German food.”
“Sounds good to me,” he presses a kiss to your cheek, going back to holding your hand as you make your way through the crowds.
Not thirty minutes later you are sitting in the Biergarten Restaurant and both you two are another beer or two in, maybe, here they serve it in liters so it is hard to tell who is drinking what. What you do know is neither of you stop ordering.
You glance at his watch, “Shit Jense, we gotta meet up with them soon.”
“Hmm,” he looks down at it before pulling out his phone, “Where are we meeting them at?”
You giggle for no reason, “I don’t know, aren’t you s’supposed to know?”
“Shush,” he smirks, texting.
He puts the phone back in his pocket, smiling widely, “Okay, c’mon.”
“Where the fuck are we going?”
“I dunno,” he grabs your hand, “Not here.”
He pulls you behind him, grinning, as you two walk into the cool night air.
“Jense!” you squeak, trying not to laugh as he leads you through the people, “Do you even know where we are going?”
“Nope, it’s an adventure,” he starts laughing again and you join him, wrapping your arm around his waist and his hooks over your shoulder. He presses a kiss to your head, squeezing you tightly against his side.
People are crowding around the lake, getting ready to see the fireworks, pushing each other to get closer. Jensen keeps you towards the back as shops start to close down, stopping every once in awhile to bend down and steal a kiss.
You swear at some point you hear someone yelling for him, but you are too focused on your boyfriend, too caught up in his giddy laughter and free behavior as he drags you through the hoards.
Finally around France he stops, diverting to the side, down the dark part near an ice cream shop with it’s lights out for the night as a voice comes over the intercoms, announcing the start of the fireworks.
“Jense?” You giggle.
“Shh,” he whispers against your lips as he pushes you towards a semi-hidden corner, where no one will pay any attention with the show on the lake, “they stole you away last night.”
“It’s your fault, you passed out before I got back,” you tease, kissing him, tugging his bottom lip between your teeth.
He growls low, pinning you against the wall with his hips as his lips travel over your neck, leaving you trembling against him.
“Jensen,” you moan, cupping his chin, bringing him back so your lips crash against his in a desperate kiss.
The fireworks boom in the air as he presses his thigh between your legs. You whine, grinding down as his hand palms at your breast, “Y/N, baby…”
“Please Jense,” you pant. You’re just on the right side of drunk, the side that makes you brave enough not to think of the thousands of people less than twenty-five or thirty yards away.
He growls low, his fingers undoing the button on your shorts, hand slipping past the fabric and into your panites.
“Shit,” you his, holding onto him tight, your face buried against his chest as his fingertips play at your damp folds.
“Fuck baby, you’re-” But he’s cut off.
“Well, what have we got goin’ on here,” Jared’s voice cuts through your little world.
Both you and Jensen jump, his hand retreating from your pants, and you can’t help but whine a little at the loss.
Jared strolls up followed by his uncontrolled laughter, “Hand check?”
“Shut-up Jared,” Jensen grumbles, his face falling when he looks back at you apologetically.
“Now I thought this was supposed to be a family friendly park and here we have-”
“Shut-up Jared,” you groan, knowing right now you are never going to hear the end of this.
He chuckles, “Do you two need a chaperone?”
Jense’s face falls against the crook of your shoulder, “Please stop.”
Jared shakes his head, winking at you, “Never, this one is too good. I caught you two trying to get it on at Disney.” He can’t even get the words out without busting out laughing.
You glare at him but it only makes him laugh harder. Jensen catches your chin with his index finger, making you look up at him, “He can only keep this up for two more days.”
“Oh no,” Jared smirks, “This one is getting told for years.”

Some bathrooms at disney world that I feel a personal connection to
Magic Kingdom
The Tomorrowland Terrace bathrooms are on a path not as commonly used and are often not busy. The Tomorrowland music greets you in this quiet haven. Late at night after the fireworks I can go here and feel like I'm the only person in the whole park.
The Main Street Fire Station bathrooms are usually a fair bit busier but it's large enough that you don't have to wait. I like the red bricks.
EPCOT
The bathrooms on the western side of Spaceship Earth are usually pretty busy. You'll have to wait a few seconds before a spot is available to you. It's usually the first thing I do when I visit EPCOT and the music helps me transition away from a driving mindset while I think of what food I want to try first.
The American Adventure bathroom is massive and has a very good position at the far back of the park. I like the wood paneling here. It often feels very fancy.
Hollywood Studios
Gonzo's Royal Flush is usually pretty calm. I often go here after finding out that Pizzerizzo is closed. It's very good for planning the second half of my day.
The bathroom by the entrance to Fantasmic is small and one of the dirtiest on property, but if I'm there it means I'm going to be seeing Fantasmic in two hours so it makes me happy.
Animal Kingdom Okay so weirdly enough I've only used the bathrooms here like three times so I can't say anything.
Disney Springs
The bathrooms by Frontera Cocina are often the last bathroom I visit before heading back home. It's a place to decompress and reflect on my fun day and try to figure out how much I overspent.
The bathroom by the Art of Disney store is where I got to make tough decisions. There will often be an expensive piece next door that I'm torn on. After some time in there, If I still want it when I walk out that means I'm gonna get it. Hasn't failed me yet.
Hotels
The bathroom in the lobby of the Contemporary Resort is one of the fanciest bathrooms I've ever been to. The paper towels were on a tray and they were as thick as cloth. I almost took some home as a souvenir. I felt very welcome by that bathroom before checking in.
The lobby bathroom of the All Star Sports Resort was one I went to when I had to wake up very early for a special tour at Animal Kingdom. It was chilly that morning and there was a security guard chatting with the front desk attendant. The sun hadn't risen yet. It was a pleasant morning.

A lot has gone on in a short amount of time, and I’m just exhausted.
We’ve taken a drive nearly every Sunday, just to get out of the house for a bit. We drove to Kissimmee to check out potential work commutes, and we’ve been hit with the reality that Disney World is a hell of a lot closer to us than we first thought. (Being able to see Epcot on the horizon had me shook.) I’ve also seen a lot more lakes and parks within an hour from home.
I went shopping on my own for the first time in months. We’ve been tight on money, so my parents have only been buying necessities. However, I got a refund check from my doctor back in Tennessee, so I offered to buy some non-necessities that we wanted. Dad had to drive me to the store, but I went in alone and got what we needed. I was fortunate that hardly anyone was in the store with me, so I didn’t really ran into anyone; and the ones that I did run into maintained social distancing.
Mom was experiencing some oral discomfort a little over a week ago, and we couldn’t really figure out the source just from our own observations. Then, while chewing some gum a few days later, she finally found the problem. Her crown came out. She was able to get an appointment the next day, and the orthodontist ended up taking her back for an emergency extraction. The area that her crown was attached to was completely infected, and there was not going to be enough tooth left to attach a new one. They took out the roots for that tooth, as well as the whole tooth behind it, because they were the very back teeth. It’s literally been a week since the procedure, and she’s doing much better. She’s no longer in intense pain, and as long as she only chews on the opposite side, she can eat tougher foods.
A couple of days ago, some people were pretending to be salespeople from Kirby and soliciting houses in order to stake them out. One of our neighbors reported them on the community Facebook page after her encounter with them. According to the neighbor, they were obviously high on something, and kept insisting on giving them vacuum demos in every room of their house. They started getting aggressive about it when she told them no, and it eventually resulted in her husband physically throwing them out of the home. Something that my neighbors seem to forget is that there is no soliciting allowed in the neighborhood. We literally have signs at the entrance stating this. (I let the soliciting slide when they’ve been sent down to us from another neighbor, who knows that we’re looking for the services that they provide. They’re already in the neighborhood, for one, and if they treated our neighbors well enough for them to refer us, then we’re more willing to consider their services.) If they don’t tell us that “so-and-so” sent them down to introduce themselves, we just tell them “no, thank you” and shut the door in their face. They should not be at our door otherwise. I think that this woman was insane for allowing them in the door. To be fair, though, I saw them outside of our house, and they definitely made an effort to appear professional. How they didn’t send red flags up before she let them in, though, (other than their being here in the first place) is what’s kind of scary.
So, there are two guys in the neighborhood that make me very uncomfortable whenever they ride down our street. The first is this guy from around the corner. Whenever he rides by on his motorbike, he just gives us (mostly me) this hard, uncomfortably long stare. He even does it when no one is outside. I caught him through the peephole once, staring down the house as he rode past. It honestly felt like he locked eyes with me through that tiny lens, and it gave me chills. I don’t know where he lives, but the second guy does the exact same thing, but he’s younger and rides a bicycle. He’s so busy staring people down that he’s constantly riding into shit. He even tries doing stunts on it, nearly taking himself out in the process because he’s too busy being creepy. Last week, he rode over my neighbor’s solar lights at the edge of his driveway (they didn’t break, thankfully) while staring all of us down, and he even rode right into the dead end sign while he was staring down the policewoman’s house, and just kept going like he didn’t do shit. We caught him another time trying to do wheelies, but he had his eyes on the policewoman’s house instead of the street, he was wearing flip-flops, and he nearly flipped himself in the middle of the street because he hadn’t balanced himself out, and he got his flip-flop caught in the pedal. I don’t know what’s up with these two guys, but I do my best to avoid them whenever I have to be outside.

How I did the DCP on a Budget
Well, to be fair the word “Budget” may be the wrong choice. I merely chose to blow my money on things like coffee mugs with Mickey Mouse on it and buy every person I ever knew a Christmas ornament because the discount was bumped to, like, 50% off.
If you’re reading this you most likely know what the DCP is. If not, no worries- I’ll tell you! The DCP, or Disney College Program, is an internship that caters to thousands of students from varying backgrounds and aspirations. It has two main seasons, Spring and Fall, and a smaller Summer season. These can break down even further to Spring/Fall Advantage (longer) or just the Spring/Fall (most resembles a typical college semester). Students live in Disney sponsored housing and work on property in a multitude of roles (jobs) such as merchandise, food service, custodial, entertainment, hotel services, etc. The program exists in both Anaheim’s Disneyland and Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort. I participated in a Spring and Fall program in Orlando as a Merchandise cast member.
The pay for these roles are mostly shit unless you land an Entertainment gig or working in a premium location like on Main Street in Magic Kingdom. I think I made $7.25 my first program and $7.50 my second program working merch in the resorts right outside Magic Kingdom. I did earn a little extra when I worked the holiday booth in the Contemporary during Christmas time, which was nice. That costume was also super comfy- the pants felt like yoga sweats and I wore a Chef’s jacket that felt like a hoodie! The costumes at Disney are really hit or miss with the designs and how they fit. Mostly misses. The hours varied for me in these locations. I would typically be scheduled for 25-30 hours and would offer to stay late and would pick up a bunch of extra shifts. Disney has one of my favorite OT policies for interns: if your shift is longer than 9 hours, everything after that 9th hour is OT. If two different shifts are within 6 hours of each other (back to back) then the previous 9 hour rule applies. If you work more than 40 hours in a week than everything after that 40th hour is OT. This was how it worked in 2012- it may have changed since then.
So with that layed out it is safe to say that I was making enough money to support myself, but not enough to do that and have the fun I wanted. When it came time to choose between groceries or tickets to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights you can guess which one I picked. Hint: I wouldn’t be writing this if I had a full pantry all the time.
FOOD The most important thing to have on your radar is where your next meal was coming from. If one of your roommates has a membership to Sam’s or Costco, coordinate your shopping day with them to take advantage! I signed up for a loyalty card to Walgreens, Winn-Dixie, and anywhere else I found myself visiting often. Winn-Dixie is a southern grocery store that sometimes can rival Walmart with their deals- like 10 Totino’s Party Pizzas for $10! I could make those things last for like 2-3 meals each when put with some cheap chips or something. Watching the weekly ads for deals from local places and Walmart helped me find variety so I wouldn’t notice I wasn’t eating right. And I could sometimes find deals on fresh produce, sandwhich meat, or meats that were about to reach their sell-by date! Something I always kept on hand was Popcorn and Pickles. They lasted forever, made quick snacks I could eat on the go, and would give me a false sense of eating a lot (especially the popcorn) which kept me from being hungry. If you skimp on the nutrition remember to buy a good multivitamin and drink lots of water. I was always moving so these bad eating habits didn’t really catch up to me until I got home from the program. I did drop 20lbs which was cool. **
Speaking of water: buy a case of cheap water, enjoy the fresh bottled taste at first, and save those bottles! Reuse them by filling them up with water at the drinking fountains. If you forget your water at home or throw the bottle out after many uses don’t worry. If you’re playing in the parks you can go to any quick-service counter and ask for a cup of water. It’s free!
Eating out is expensive. Pick where you eat wisely. We always went to Golden Corral, Siciliy’s Pizza, or Sweet Tomatoes where we would get a small discount and could eat as much as we wanted. Despite the discount Disney food is not usually your best option. Here are my exceptions: Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Magic Kingdom: If you’re playing make sure you bring a backpack to stow your “Ears” and pin lanyard. Wear plain clothes and have your cast ID handy. You want to appear as if you’re coming to/leaving work. Behind Main Street heading towards Tomorrowland on the right is an easy entrance to the Utilidors. Make sure you’re familiar with the Utilidors before venturing down there if MK is not your home park. If you get lost try not to ask security or upper management for directions. Stick to others in sweats or themed gear. You’re looking for the cast member cafeteria. There’s a Subway down there where you can get a $5 footlong and Aramark also has other options for snacks. I would always split this with someone and have one of my water bottles handy for a cheap meal. It’s also really fun to watch Cinderella and Gaston talk shit about someone (Peter Pan?!) while stuffing their faces with Hot Cheetos. You’re not supposed to be down there if you aren’t working so be careful. Pecos Bill in Adventureland has a little salad bar meant for the taco salads. It’s packed with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, pickles, and other toppings and condiments that you can create a make-shift salad with for free (unless a cast member decides to stop you, but they most likely won’t). Epcot: Make a bee-line to Japan in the World Showcase. The kids meal at the quick-service is like $6 and plenty of food to fill you up. Saves money for the important stuff- like Tequila in Mexico!
I was lucky to work at the Contemporary where we hosted Pirates and Pals, which is a fireworks cruise. They served these giant sheet cakes for the guests and there was always a whole cake left over. One of our supervisors was married to a man that facilitated the food for that shindig so it always appeared in our break room! We also had a popcorn machine (remember what I said about popcorn!) that we could rev up any time we wanted, and so I did during my breaks. Many nights my dinner was cake and popcorn! There was also a “Hungry Intern” box the other cast members would put stuff in that had stuff like easy mac, ramen, and granola bars. I had great coworkers. :)
If you happen to work in a place that has a merchandise cooler for drinks and food or sells candy keep an eye on the expiration dates! If you have a supervisor that doesn’t care or pays attention you could score things like boxed candy or frozen breakfast foods (in the hotels) that were on their way to being thrown out anyways. I wouldn’t recommend taking things like MILK that was expired- but who cares if the Goofy cotton candy was day over it’s mark?
Household Essentials Some of my “tips” here include theft. Cover your innocent eyes if you’re not into that. I would take things like toilet paper, soap, razors, and feminine products from the hotel’s supply closets. I didn’t want to spend my money on things like that when there it was behind this door I had a key to. Sometimes you could score stuff like candles or laundry detergent too. I only took what I needed and I shared with the other interns. Like Robin Hood! You could also grab essentials from the bathroms, like cotton swabs and toilet paper and paper/cloth napkins. The best place is the bathrooms in the convention centers like the one at the Boardwalk. This is conveniently located next to the cast member parking lot/bus stop!
If you’re purchasing buy things in bulk if the price is right! You know you’ll need it, it’s worth it to just get as much as you can when you can.
Entertainment This is where all my money went. I mainly spent my money on shows, alcohol, gas, parking, and food when I wasn’t using my free food cheats and comped park entrances. Before I even left home I bought an annual pass to Universal that got me discounts on Halloween Horror Nights tickets, food, and free parking. I knew as a Cast Member I would already be getting those same perks at Disney. This helped me save money while escaping the Disney Bubble often.
SIN Night at House of Blues - Service Industry Night is the best if you want to go clubbing. Admission is free with your Disney ID if you’re over 21 and ladies drink free until about 10 or 11. Jellyrolls - This is a dueling piano bar at the Boardwalk outside Epcot. Admission is free for cast members and they serve free... wait for it... POPCORN inside! This is a great show and the pianist are very talented. Each night is different as they play requests only all night. The staff is very friendly as well! The alcohol is expensive - like $7 for a bottled beer! We would usually just pool our resources and buy liquor from the Walgreens in front of Vista Way and pregame in the parking lot. If you’ve been keeping your water bottles from earlier handy you could smuggle in your own vodka and sip at your leisure! Buffalo Wild Wings - On Wednesday nights the BWWs in the Crossroads Center on SR 535 clears their dining room floor and turns the place into a karaoke bar on the inside and a latin club on the patio! Great prices on drinks, food, and admission. I can’t remember if there was a way to get in free or not. When they’d shut down you just crossed the parking lot to McDonald’s and ball out of control because it was just after 1 am on a Thursday and your drunk self just remembered EPCOT!! EPCOT - Every Paycheck Comes On Thursday. Direct Deposit, hell yeah! Disney pays you weekly!
Other ways we would save money is by splitting dryer time on small loads in the laundry rooms, carpooling, pregaming, rotating email addresses to get free trials on Hulu and Netflix, rotating which roommate would buy community use things, rotating amongst friends each week for a home-cooked meal, investing in things we would use over and over like board games and cards for entertainment, staying away from fast food whenever possible, and not being wasteful. This post may look like all I did was play and party, but I worked hard too. I took advantage of the OT regulations to where I would work 4 10-12 hour shifts each week. When doing this I would usually get an Early Release on my 5th day or could afford to give up the shift all together. I enjoyed being at work since most of my friends were already there! I had a great time with the guests and thoroughly enjoyed what I was doing every day! My two programs got me the job I have now and the above-average salary I’m making.
** Please be safe and treat your body right. This is no way advocates the usefulness of an eating disorder in any way. Do not skip meals. Do not starve yourself. Do not count popcorn as your only meal for an extended amount of time. I love popcorn, I really do, but it’s not a miracle food. Listen to your body and give it what it needs.

Theme Parks: Spoonie Style
Though it can be rough to travel and enjoy vacations with a chronic illness(es), many theme parks across North America, Europe, and Asia make an effort to help make the trip a bit easier and more enjoyable. Many parks have accessibility programs for guests with disabilities and/or chronic conditions. In this post, I am going to cover the policies for Disney Parks, Universal Studios, Six Flags, Cedar Fair, and Merlin Entertainment parks and some tips that could be applied at any park. I’ve researched and learned quite a bit about the policies at all five parks because I love theme parks & roller coasters, but Disney’s policy is the only program I’ve experienced firsthand. Because of this, I will be speaking to their policy in greater detail and sharing my personal experiences.
Disney
When you arrive at a Disney park, you will first go through the security check-point where the search your bag(s). You are allowed to bring food & drinks (non-alcoholic) in your bag, which is especially helpful if you have food allergies or need to have food on hand for medical reasons. Disney operated restaurants have great allergy menus at each location and take great care in limiting any risk of cross-contamination, so you don’t have to worry about that here! (Disney Springs restaurants are not owned by Disney and their allergy menus and prep areas will vary from restaurant to restaurant.) Since you carry your bags with you through the parks and on each attraction, I typically opt for a crossbody or messenger bag with a zipper, so I can keep it secured throughout the ride. In addition to packing water and snacks, I also brought Clorox wipes and DripDrop. Clorox wipes were helpful to have to wipe down 3D glasses for attractions that use them or cleaning tables at quick service restaurants before eating. DripDrop is something I love to have on hand. It was developed by Dr. Dolhun from Mayo Clinic and is an oral rehydration solution. Walking around in the heat, this is a very effective solution to keep yourself hydrated. (Lemon is my personal favorite!)
Disney offers a Disability Access Services program for guests who are unable to wait in a standard queue due to a disability or chronic illness. When you get through the turnstiles, head over to Guest Relations to speak with a Cast Member regarding DAS, and explain your condition and limitations regarding a regular attraction queue. I personally used this program due to my IBD (ulcerative colitis), as I may have to leave the line at a moment’s notice to use the restroom. Because of this, I am still able to wait the allotted time for the attraction, but I just can’t wait in the traditional queue. Disney policy states that they cannot ask for proof or a doctor’s note for approval. Once approved, your picture will be taken of you and each of your party’s tickets or magic bands will need to be scanned to link them to your DAS pass. A maximum of six guests are covered by a single DAS pass.
Once you’re set up, you can go to a ride and request a return time. You are only able to request a single return time until you’ve ridden that ride. During this period, you can use your FastPass for other rides, use the bathroom, relax, eat, etc. If you are unable to return to the attraction at your return time, you are still able to use that pass any time before the parks close. Once you return, you will use the FastPass line to enter the ride. Depending on the time of day and what time of year you’re visiting, the length of the FastPass line may vary. Once we were in the FastPass line, our longest wait was fifteen minutes from entering the line to boarding the ride. This program worked very well in accommodating my needs. At Walt Disney World, FastPass+ is included in your admission, and you can begin reserving three FastPasses per day of your visit 30 – 60 days in advance, depending if you’re staying on property. Once you have used your three FastPasses, you are able to select additional reservations one at a time. Between FastPass and breaks to rest, we were able to enjoy the park and the wait times for DAS flew by. If you do find that DAS doesn’t meet your needs, Disney recommends that you speak with a Cast Member at Guest Services to discuss the accommodations you need. There may be some situations where they can’t fully accommodate your needs, but in general, Disney really does their best to go above and beyond to give guests the most magical experience possible.
Typically, DAS passes are not given for those with mobility disabilities. If a guest has another disability or illness in addition to mobility, a pass may be issued for that reason. I ended up needing a wheelchair for about half of our trip. Around 1pm on our first day, I was in so much pain and feeling so weak that I was not able to even walk to the entrance to catch the bus back to our hotel. A Cast Member at One Man’s Dream in Hollywood Studios lent us one of the attraction’s wheelchairs to get me up to the busses. We went back to the hotel to nap, and by the time I woke up, my husband had ordered a wheelchair from a third-party company and it had already been delivered. I would try to do mornings/mid-day without the chair, and then we would go back to the hotel to rest and I would use my wheelchair in the evening. Even though we were given a wide-width wheelchair, we didn’t have much trouble making it through most of the FastPass queues. Tower of Terror (at Hollywood Studios) and Soarin’ (at Epcot) were both tight, but the chair was able to make it through. I really enjoyed having a chair from a third-party so we could take it outside the park. If I was at the point of needing my chair, I would have also had a difficult time walking from the park to buses to our hotel room. All Disney transportation is wheelchair friendly, but we mainly used the buses because of the hotel we were staying in. If you might be using a wheelchair, I would suggest requesting a hotel room in a building close to a bus stop. Some properties have multiple stops, while others only have bus stops at the main building.
Universal
Universal Studios also has checkpoints at their entrance. Though Universal has special menus for allergies, the do have a disclaimer that they can’t guarantee the risk of cross contamination. Because of this, you may want to bring in food and water, in addition to any medical supplies you may need. Universal allows you to bring food you need for medical or special dietary needs and up to two liters of water. Bags are subjected to x-rays and/or additional inspection. Bags are not allowed on rides, but Universal offers lockers near rides. If there are medical supplies you may need at a moment’s notice, you may need to use multiple lockers or plan your trip to stay close to your locker.
Universal offers an Attraction Assistance Pass which provides guests with a return time comparable to the current wait time. You are only able to get a single return time until you’ve ridden the ride. After that, you can receive another return time for a second attraction. Guests in a wheelchair may not need an Attraction Assistance Pass, as Universal has built most of their queues to be accessible to those using a wheelchair, but the Guest Services Team evaluates this on a case-by-case basis.
Six Flags
At Six Flags parks, guests must first get approval to bring outside food in for special dietary or medical needs. If approved, Guest Services will mark and date the containers to show that they have been approved to bring into the park.
They offer an Attraction Accessibility Program to guests who have a medical need and/or disability. To obtain the pass, Six Flags requires you to show a valid doctor’s note with the guest’s name, the doctor’s name, address, phone number, signature, and a statement indicating the guest has a disability or other qualifying impairment that prevents them from waiting in a standard queue. The note must not include the guest’s diagnosis. The guest is also required to provide photo ID. With the Attraction Accessibility Program, the guest and three companions are covered by the pass and can enter through the alternate entrance. They receive a reservation time comparable to the current wait time. You have a fifteen-minute period after your reservation time to board this attraction. After this time, another reservation must be made. If there are more people in the party, they must wait in the standard queue. Once they reach the front of the line, they let the employees know that there are other member of their party joining using the Attraction Accessibility Program.
Cedar Fair
At parks owned by Cedar Fair, outside food or water is only allowed for medical conditions. These parks offer a Boarding Pass Program which allows guests to access rides through exit ramp or an alternate access entrance at a specific time. Guests are given a piece of paper where wait times can be written on for each ride. Wait times are based on the current length of the line and Boarding Passes do not offer immediate boarding. Guests are not allowed to get more than one wait time, similar to other parks. Four guests, including the one issued the Boarding Pass Program, are allowed to ride with the pass. Additional members of the guest’s party will need to wait in the regular line, while the other four are able to rest or wait somewhere else.
Merlin Entertainment
Merlin Entertainment has theme parks across North America, Europe, and Asia. Their park rules (including those regarding accessibility/ride access programs) vary from country to country. Since Legoland is the only amusement park that has multiple locations, I’m going to start there!
Both their California and Florida parks allow backpacks, which may be searched upon arrival. Guests are allowed to bring water, snacks, and any food required for medical purposes and any special dietary needs. Both of these parks, along with the Malaysia location, offer gluten free and other allergen free options.
Both of the US parks offer a Hero Pass which allows the guest and one companion immediate access through the ride’s exit. Larger parties are required to get a reservation time. The Hero Pass is valid for six total guests. The Malaysia location has the same policies with their Assisted Access Pass. Legoland Windsor offers a Ride Access Pass for which they require documentation. This can a be letter from the guest’s GP, Association Membership details, Council run membership, or any other forms that states the disability. Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and/or Blue and Orange badges are not accepted since they don’t state the nature of the disability. Guests without documentation will not be granted a Ride Access Pass. Guests of the Windsor park using their Ride Access Pass are required to have a smart phone or tablet, as they system is operated online. A maximum of four people (including the disabled guest) will be allowed to use this pass. Most of Legoland Windsor’s queues are wheelchair accessible, but those that aren’t are accessible through an alternative entrance. The park in Japan offers an Assisted Access Pass that allows virtual queuing for a single ride at a time. They also offer the disabled guest’s companion free access if they have an ID Booklet for Disabled People issued by the Japanese authorities. I could not find any documentation on an accessibility program at the park in Germany, but they offer a 4 EUR discount on standard entrance price for “severely disabled” guests. A companion can enter for free if the disabled guest has an ID card with the letter “B” on it.
Though there are some differences between the accommodations at Merlin Entertainment’s three amusement parks in the UK, once you’re registered for a Ride Access Pass at one, it can be claimed at the other two parks with your confirmation number and a photo ID. To register, these Merlin Entertainment parks require you provide proof of eligibility. This proof can come in the form of a certified letter from your doctor or consultant, a letter from another medical professional such as nurse, a Disability Living Allowance (DLA) letter stating you’re entitled to higher rate mobility allowance dated within the last twelve months, or a valid Blue Badge along with an additional photo ID. All three parks allow the guest up to three companions join them when using the pass. Alton Towers requires the disabled guest to have at least one companion with them on each ride to assist in case the ride needs to be evacuated. Both Thorpe Park & Alton Towers provide wristbands to those using the Ride Access Pass. Chessington World of Adventures instead offers ten tokens that the guest can then use on the rides of their choosing. At each park, the Ride Access Pass acts like a virtual queue. Similar to other parks, you can only have one queue reservation at a time, and when your time has arrived, you can board the ride through the exit or a designated entrance. Chessington World of Adventures website lists that forty-five minutes is the maximum wait time for guests using the Ride Access Pass. I couldn’t find anything regarding allergy menus or offerings at any of these parks.
Gardaland Resort does provide special meals prepared and stored to protect against contamination for those with celiac disease. This park also offers two types of access cards: Easy Access Card and Priority Card. The Easy Access Card is typically used by pregnant women or people with lower limb casts and one additional companion. Though this card provides easier access, it is not priority access. The Priority Card gives access to the disabled guest, one adult companion, and/or three children. It was not mentioned that a medical certificate is required for this pass, but since they require it for the Easy Access Card, it may be good to have one on-hand, just in case.
I really hope this insight on accessibility policy helps you venture out and enjoy different theme parks. As you can see, many parks make an effort to help allow everyone access to their attractions and adapt to assist those with disabilities. Hopefully these programs can help make the most of your vacation!

Weeks 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21
I really need to set a reminder to write these out.
It’s been kind of weird lately. My schedule has not been very routine which makes my weeks really random and I lose track of the days.
During week 18, I found out that my grandmother passed away. I was devastated and it really didn’t seem fair - to lose two family members in a month. I had to go home for a few days during week 19, but this time I flew. Luckily I caught a cheap flight and my parents helped me out with some money. It was definitely not how I would have liked to go home. On top of that, those were the days my mom and brother were supposed to come down to visit. Clearly, that couldn’t happen. My mom was able to change the flight and hotel reservations for two weeks later, but it was still so plainly upsetting.
To top off all of that, my car had started leaking gas and radiator fluid the first day I went back to work. I had to leave work with an ROS and get my car towed - twice. It needed a new fuel tank and radiator. So when I was supposed to pick up my family from the airport, they had to get a rental car instead. A series of unfortunate events. My car stayed at a shop for nearly two weeks while waiting for parts to come in. I hate taking the bus. Transtar is literally the worst.
Week 21 was great while my family was here! We started off on Thursday at Universal, first Studios then Islands of Adventure. This was their first time since Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade were added, and they were so excited just as I was the first time I went in July. After a long day of walking and riding, we went to D-luxe burger at Disney Springs. Let me tell you - it was absolutely delicious. I got the classic cheeseburger and the fries with garlic ranch sauce and it was so good! I definitely recommend it.
On Friday we did Disney and accomplished four parks in one day! We started off with breakfast at the Wave in the Contemporary. The buffet was so good, plus I got a 40% cast discount. Then we walked over to Magic Kingdom and did a bunch of rides. After MK was Epcot! We ate food and walked around the world showcase. Then came Hollywood Studios. I snagged a fast pass for Rockin’ Rollercoaster, which my mom loved. I have a friend who works at Star Tours and he gave us some extra fast passes to use anywhere! Naturally, we went on Tower of Terror. My mom wasn’t so keen on that one! Finally, we went to Animal Kingdom. We went on Flight of Passage (thanks to another friend who works there) and it was breathtaking as usual. After two extremely long days, we were all ready to rest especially since their flight left early on Saturday. It was a fun little vacation!
I’ve been continuing candlelight rehearsals and the shows are coming up quickly. The first is just before Thanksgiving! If you get the chance, definitely make your way over to Epcot for a show. It will be worth it!
In my last post I mentioned applying to extend my program. I did apply, but I was not offered an extension. I thought it might be because of my attendance record, and I emailed the recruiters and explained that I have Crohn’s disease which makes it hard for me to come to work when I have a flare up. They replied saying that may not have been the reason, as there were other reasons listed. I asked to know the reasons, so that I could realize any mistakes I may have made and learn from them, but that was a week ago and I haven’t heard from them since. I have a right to know why I wasn’t offered an extension and I intend to find out.
Since I’m not extending, I have to really think about what I’m going to do in January. There are a few options rolling around in my head. I could 1) apply for a full time position at Disney, 2) apply for a position at Universal to be around my friends, or 3) go back home and work and save up. I have a lot of thinking to do.
Overall, I’m trying to keep myself busy since I might only have 2 months left here. I need to cherish my time with Disney and with the great friends I’ve made.

Travel Series : Disneyworld (days 1 & 2)
I’m a bit behind on my travel blogs. Incidentally, I went to Disneyland in October with my youngest son but I figured it would be best to write about my Disneyworld trip a few weeks ago with my eldest.
For some reason I never really gave much thought to visiting Disneyworld until recently and when I had enough American Airlines points to essentially get 2 round trip flights anywhere within the US it was thrown out more as a “what if” to my sons. As my youngest voiced no desire to fly to Florida / visit Disneyworld it made the choice somewhat easy as my eldest son’s winter break started much sooner (one luxury of a college schedule).
We took a non-stop flight from Phoenix to MCO on a Saturday (nowadays I try to avoid layovers like the plague unless they are necessary). Between the 4 hour flight and 2 hour time difference I wisely did not pay to visit the parks the day we flew into Orlando. For those flying from Phoenix / the West Coast I highly recommend the same thing as not only is it about 30 minutes from the airports to the area with the parks / hotels, you also then have to drive to whichever park you plan on visiting. I also suggest using a share-driving service versus car rental as the parking fees alone seemed to average about $25 at the parks and hotels. I think in all we spent about $200 for the ride-shares, which undoubtedly is less than we would have spent on a 4 day car rental and parking.
One thing to keep in mind about Disneyworld is that unless you are staying at a Disney hotel specific to the park there is no option to walk to any of the parks. As it was my first trip to Florida one of the first things I noticed was the nice green surrounds with intermittent ponds / lakes. This is one way that Orlando is far superior to Anaheim...let’s face it, aside from Disneyland Anaheim is the pits. That being said, I have heard that Florida summers are brutal (compared to California summers) so you will definitely want to choose a time with decent weather. We luckily were there during colder weather (more on this later).
Other options which Disneyland does not have (but should adopt) are the Magicbands and setting up Fastpasses 30 days in advance (60 days if you stay at a Disney hotel). The Magicbands link anything you need for the parks - since we did not use a dining plan we only used it as our ticket and for the Fastpasses. Having the Fastpasses 30 days beforehand it a great tool as it will allow you to properly structure your days. One thing I learned; however, is that you can only choose the passes at one park each day (ie, you can’t have one pass at the Animal Kingdom in the morning and one later that day for Epcot) but you are allowed to get 3 passes each day. I highly recommend selecting the passes as soon as the option opens / at the 30 day mark as even in doing this there were rides which were already out of passes (likely grabbed by the Disney hotel people) or had very late entry times / were almost out. The hot ticket rides seemed to be both rides in the Avatar Pandora land at Animal Kingdom and the Test Track and Frozen rides at Epcot.
I didn’t choose to look at a map of Orlando prior to the trip but when I finally did I noticed that downtown is north of the airport while the theme park areas are southwest. This is a plus for travelers as there was pretty light traffic heading to and from Disneyworld.
Taking advantage of having a Saturday evening without park tickets we decided to go to the Disney Springs area. For those of you familiar with Downtown Disney at Disneyland this is essentially a souped of version of that. It was much larger than I was expecting and should fulfill any and all consumerism needs. One thing to note is that getting into the Disney Springs area was probably the most traffic we dealt with on the entire trip (being Saturday evening was likely the main factor).
Sunday was our first day at a park and we chose to visit the Animal Kingdom. Another item to note is that none of the parks are within walking distance of each other; however, there are transportation options between each one. The Animal Kingdom only has the option of buses to the other parks but the other parks are either connected by bus, monorail, and even boat. Aesthetically, the Animal Kingdom is quite stunning. It is essentially a wildlife zoo intermixed with rides. At the center of the park is the Tree of Life - it really is a sight to behold with pictures not doing it justice.
The park’s lands are structured by the countries Africa and Asia and also has a Dinoland and the Avatar Pandora land. Since we only had 3 days at the parks and had been to Disneyland so many times we chose to only use our time there as wisely as possible by only focusing on attractions which were specific to Disneyworld / not at the California parks. I was expecting rain on our day at Animal Kingdom but wasn’t really expecting the slight drizzles to turn into a relatively heavy on-pour for about 2.5 hours. Although this hindered things it also played in our favor later on in the day.
During the initial light rains we started at Dinoland, which is mainly for younger children and was probably the most unimpressive section of the park / could use an update. The Dinosaur ride is the main ride in this area, which is essentially Disneyworld’s version of Indiana Jones. Needless to say, it is nowhere near as good as Indiana Jones - it is a passable ride but I wouldn’t recommend spending over 20 minutes in line and would also recommend getting Fastpasses for other rides.
It was then that the heavy rains began. We ran between any overhead coverings we could find and made our way to the Nomad Lounge. We luckily made it there right when it opened as other visitors had the same idea in mind of finding refuge from the storm. The atmosphere of the lounge was fantastic. At Disneyland we always make a point of going to the Carthay Circle Lounge for a break amidst the walking / crowd insanity and Nomad is the perfect place for such at Disneyworld. It also has a much better selection of food than the Carthay Circle lounge. We ordered more than we would have under other circumstances, essentially to stake our claim on the table until the rain let-up as people continued to file into the lounge trying to find non-existent seats and even gave us an eye like they wanted us to share our table. In their defense, we did have a pretty large area in the indoor/outdoor area which consistent of two end chairs, a sofa and a coffee table but our anti-social tendencies prevailed. To be fair, I did raise the idea of sharing the table to my son but he only scoffed and continued to watch patrons sit on wet chairs at wet tables. It probably didn’t make us look any better when the people it a similar seating area next to us were kind enough to allow another couple sit with them.
For $1 you have an option to fill out the small banners which are hung from the ceiling and on the walls. There are numerous questions posted throughout the lounge pertaining to travel - you simply choose your favorite question and write your answer. It is a nice option for those who want to become a part of a Disney park in some way. If you go to the lounge I recommend trying the bread board, which is different breads from around the world with different spreads.
The best thing about the heavy rain was that the lines drastically diminished the rest of the day, which in turn allowed us to ride the Flight of Passage in the Avatar land (as noted previously, the Fastpasses were gone even 30 days before our trip). I am by no means an Avatar fan but I have to admit that the detail in the Pandora land was quite impressive. I highly recommend going there during the night / when all of the surroundings are lit-up. We did have Fastpasses for the Na’vi River Journey, which is a boat ride in the vein of Pirates of the Carribean. My son and I both agreed that it was alright - there were a few cool visuals but not worth an extremely long wait (the line can usually run over 2 hours).
I was a bit reluctant to ride Flight of Passage as my initial read-up on it gave the impression like it was similar to the Harry Potter ride at Universal Studios Hollywood (which was probably the most nauseating ride experience of my life). When I asked the attendant about the ride and noted the Harry ride as comparison she quickly pointed out that she usually gets sick on rides and didn’t have the issue with Flight of Passage. It is usually against my better judgment to stand in line for 85 minutes for any ride by my son really wanted to experience the ride and this undoubtedly was the shortest the line was going to get during our trip (as I am writing this the wait time noted on the app is 285 minutes...that’s right, over 4 hours...). There are enough things to look at during the 85 minute wait / in the queue but I cannot in any way justify recommend waiting in line over 2 hours for a ride, let alone 4 hours. That being said, the ride experience was pretty cool. Think Soaring Over the World crossed with an Avatar theme in which you get your individual seat...the idea is that you’re riding one of the banshees from the film.
The two other rides we experienced were Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris. Both of these rides were very impressive. Expedition Everest has the same Yeti theme as the Matterhorn but be forewarned, it is a bit more intense. My son was not too keen initially on riding the Safari but with the rains diminishing the line to a 5 minute wait we choose to check it out. Neither of us were disappointed - it seriously is a straight-up safari in which the animals have free roam of the land and you are actually riding in a jeep which isn’t on rails - there is a path for cast members to follow but he/she can stop and go as they please if there is something interesting going on.
Overall thoughts : Although it is not a park heavy on rides, there is more than enough to see / do between the live animal exhibits, rides, and restaurants. Definitely check out Nomad for lunch or dinner and the 3 rides I recommend for Fast Passes are Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, and Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Day 02 - Epcot
TLDR: Epcot. A slightly later start today though a pretty full and non stop day once we began. Spaceship Earth up first, squeezed into the Ellen's Energy Adventure, then Test Track with a touch of competitive spirit. Living with the Land, Circle of Life and then Soarin’ in quick succession. Finished off with the new ride - Frozen Ever After and decided to skip out on World Showcase in favour of heading straight to Miller's Alehouse for my first proper meal of the trip. Walmart, then home, early (earlier).
The future is what you make it!
Sooo Robert had been unimpressed by the shops we had visited to far, mainly because they didn’t stock Pokemon cards. With the thunderstorms last night, we promised we visit Walmart first thing, which we did prior to picking up my Mum & Dad for Epcot. That meant skipping breakfast. Again. Picked up a wee rucksack so we could carry around all our rain jackets and little extras. Robert got his Pokemon cards and Gracie managed to find yet another collectable in the form of Hatchimal miniatures. Patrick and I had been speaking prior to the holiday about another card collection called Magic: The Gathering, but neither me nor him knew much about them. He picked up a starter pack to have a look. As someone who like his RPG and Fantasy things, I was a little intrigued. I dont think it will take Patrick long to become an expert.
Swung back around to pick up my Mum and Dad who were waiting for us at their Hotel with coffee in hand - result! The other party (which I'll cover in just a sec), were heading to Mass first and planned to catch us up at Epcot when they were done. So let me backtrack a little and explain who is actually all here as I havent yet done so and were already two days in - thats just impolite, so sorry.
Fifeteen of us in total. First off we have our wee family of five, Me, Ann, Patrick, Robert & Grace - Ive went on at length about all of us at some point in the past - yeah, you know who we are. Then its my mum and dad, Sadie & Wullie, Orlando veterans and all round great parents. My brother Michael is up next, with Sarah Jane, Corrie, Alessio and their wee baby who recently had her first birthday - Isabella. And finally we have my sister Pauline with Kevin & Emily. Both Emily and Isabella are first timers to Orlando and all things Disney, so makes it an extra special visit. Ourselves and my parents share the first car, My brother, sister and their families share the second. I'll refer to the latter as 'the other party' at times but this is entirely for brevity. Now, back to the story...
We ended up getting to Epcot around 10:30 which was right in time for our first Fast Pass - Spaceship Earth. A big slow moving train through the anals of Civilization, located in the big multi-faceted ball that Epcot is renowned for. Y'know its a fairly simple ride and I've done this it a fair few times now, but this like many others, never ceases to amaze me. If you've ever seen Inside Out, I imagine this whole place to be a core memory and have its own wee island somewhere in the depths of my brain, churning out little orbs of Joy. If you haven't seen Inside Out, then all of what I've just said will sound really really weird, but trust me - go watch it. Good start to the day!
Hey You Guys!
Next we checked out Test Track but it was down for some unknown reason, so grabbed some coffee and pastries will we waited for the other party (that being, oh wait right we did that already, didn't we?). By the wonders of Whatsapp and Feel at Home from Three (shameless plug), Kev let us know that they'd arrived and we arranged to met them back at the entrance. We'd coordinated our t-shirts today, those being our new Celtic Champions 6-in-a-row tee :) which made it real easy to spot them. On the subject of attire, zipped pockets - how amazing are they? I know I sound like I'm getting old, but they're definitely the way to go if you're on holiday!
Ann really hurt her eye over the course of the morning and it was progressively getting worse as time went on. I suggested that she patch over her eye to give it a rest, however this led me to call her One Eyed Willie, which didnt go down to well, so stopped in fear of my life (or having to walk the plank - right, sorry Ann, that was the last one, promise ;) x )
Next we headed to Ellen's Energy Adventure, a big moving cinema all about th wonders of energy hosted by the hilarious Ellen DeGeneres & Bill Nye, the science guy. Funny as well as factual too, couldnt go wrong.
Now came Test track, a ride where family loyalty went out the window as we went head to head to design the most efficient car. Super fast, fun ride and good to see the competitive spirit from everyone - even Gracie was doing a little trash talking (well she was in my team, otherwise I wouldn't have encouraged it ; ). In the end, we failed to hit top spot, but our car was easily the best looking one out the lot (all designed by my lovely co-pilot Gracie).
Scores on the doors were as follows:
Ann, Kevin & Pauline - 208 Michael, SJ & Emily- 205 Me, Dad & Grace - 204 Patrick, Robert & Corrie - 156 (who intially claimed 226 - what a bunch 'a chancers!)
All in all great fun and everyone loved it (especially Gracie who wanted go back on it straight away).
Living With The Land Fast Pass (on the other side of the park) up next, which we made it with 5 minutes to spare. Nice boat ride about farming and such (seriously) with Patrick even enquiring about the Behind The Scenes tour (or Behind The Seeds as they called it) - he just loves learning new things! He also managed to spot 2 hidden Mickeys on the ride (thats disguised Mickey symbols all over the Disney parks) - so well done PG!
Quick stop at The Circle Of life, a wee environmental film featuring The Lion King's Simba, Timon & Pumba, which began with the song of the same name. That song gives me goosebumps every single time! *shudder*
After that was Soarin', which we had passes for, but everyone wanted to ride so meant we had to split up into two groups, one to watch Isabella while the other went on the ride. While we were waiting to ride (with views of an cool looking India Jones-esque style journey being mapped out on the screen before us), Robert asked the attendant out of the blue if we could get in the first row - good ole Ro! :)
This ride was Epic - its the only word to describe it. Flying through the air, over different landmarks of the world aking in hugs vistas, they even had different smells. Everyone loved it and even my Dad rearked it was the best ride yet as we walked off the ride.
Do you wanna build a snowman?
During the wait and switch-over of groups we came to the decision that the five of us and my mum and dad would head home after the last ride and try getting a proper bite to eat when it was a little quieter, whilst, Pauline, Michael & Co would remain in the park and finish off the remaining rides.
So onward it was to Frozen Ever After, Epcot's newest ride based on the extremely popular Disney movie and set in Norway (well Epcot's mini representation of Norway on their World Showcase). On our way, we bumped into Pluto (the dog, not the planet-oid-y thing), so used the opportunity to grab our first character autograph! Kids were really excited! There was a Disney Photo-pass photographer there too so managed to get some nice groups shots (except for ours, so had to use one of my own photos here as a backup).
The ride was a great little boat trip through the Kingdom of Arendelle with Anna and Elsa (who is my favourite princess without red hair, ok ok, she isnt really a princess, yeah I know, but still). Even the Snow-gies made an appearance! And with the ride came another ride photo from the Memory Maker - excellent! :D The kids loved it and Emily was skipping out of the ride singing Let It Go at the top of her voice! :)
So we said our goodbyes and left the other party then, who planned to continue their travels around the World Showcase and possibly grab Spaceship Earth, which they missed, on the way out. The World Showcase is an awesome thing, but I think the allure of a hearty meal after a long day was far too tempting for us.
We headed straight to Miller's Alehouse from the park in an attempt to avoid the queues and wait times... which we did! However once we were seated and after a quick scan of the menu - the Snow Crab that Gracie had set her heart on to share with me was no longer on the menu - she was more gutted than me! :( In its place I opted for a nice wee Flat Iron Steak & Coconut Shrimp combo, which was awesome. Grace and Ann chose to share the 35 Shrimp menu item (which was 35 shrimps funnily enough) and Grace inhaled about 18 of them. Man, that girl loves her seafood! The Nacho starter that Ann thought she might need however was an absolute mountain and in the end, defeated all of us (its really big enough for two peeps to share as a main meal if Im being honest). The food and menu options in the place are second to none so were definitely planning a return visit in the next few days with our entire group!
A second trip to Walmart rounded off the day in order that we could take a slightly more relaxed look at what they had to offer. The last time I was here I picked up some amazing Cinnamon Pecan coffee, but alas they appeared to no longer stock it or any equivalent. The boys picked up more trading cards, Grace picked up more Hatchimals and we got a variety of non-essential items including a Star Wars decal for the car, a Pecan pie (obviously I have a thing for Pecans) and some Harley Quinn Comics (and I have a thing for her too ; ). Had a look at the laptops too, which were ridiculously cheap, so toying with the idea of picking one up, but Ill need to do some in-depth investigations first.
Rest day on the cards for tomorrow with shopping planned in the am, so should a relatively quiet one. I'm kinda looking forward to it in all honesty, following the two successful but extremely packed days we've all had.
