#in fairness to my Scottish murderwife: in the scene as a whole Macbeth is EQUALLY concerned about the guests#when he's not actively freaking out about Banquo's ghost he is trying so so hard to be The Best And Most Normal Party Host#which is why III.4 when played correctly is a dark slapstick comedy right up until the Macbeths are alone together at the very end#the Qinyao confrontation largely isn't but this part makes me laugh out loud.
