If people are predictable, and some things never change, he’s glad that they are the way that they are.

Ravi waits until Anil is completely out of sight before climbing the stairs to return to the team. He hardly makes it halfway up before the alarm blares. 

In truth, Ravi is grateful for it. It’s a perfect time to be reminded of what he does and who he is. No matter what crap his brother spews, he can never take that from him.

On the way back from a pretty simple kitchen fire in a college dorm, Ravi makes a move that feels equal parts strategic and emotional. It’s sad, really, that he has come to a point of evaluating his decisions this way. But it’s a necessary survival skill. 

With enough distance from Anil leaving, Ravi thinks it’s a good idea.

Ravi smiles and pockets his phone. Things feel decidedly hopeful, despite the day starting with stinking soft serve and his brother outing his medical history. Who would’ve thought? 

When they get back to the station, Bobby pulls him aside. 

“Can I speak with you in my office, Ravi?” He asks. 

“Sure, Cap,” Ravi nods, good feeling dissipating. 

Maybe Bobby is mad he didn’t disclose being autistic. Maybe Ravi is violating some department policy he didn’t know about. Maybe Bobby is mad Ravi brought personal shit into the workplace. Either way, he respects the hell out of Bobby, and kind of hates the idea he has somehow disappointed him. 

Bobby clears that up pretty quickly. 

“Listen, kid. I know today has been stressful and I don’t want to add to it. But I think we should talk about what happened.”

Ravi nods. “Yeah, of course.”

After they eat, Buck takes off Cranberry’s vest and lets her travel from person to person, getting scratches and praise. She takes to the attention like a proper diva, and the fire station is her adoring public. Bobby, especially, seems like he’s dying to spoil her. It makes Buck feel a small warmth in his stomach. 

Aside from Bobby, Cranberry seems determined to stick close to Eddie. She wiggles into his legs, rests her head on his legs the same way she does with Buck, and pushes her nose under his hands. Even when he tries to focus on a conversation apart from her, she finds a way to suck him back in. 

“Your dog has a crush, Buck,” Hen teases. 

“Just like her handler, getting all goofy for Eddie when they first meet, huh?” Chim adds. 

“No idea what you mean,” Buck lies. 

Buck might have to murder him. 

He was not goofy when Eddie started. 

“I was told you’re just like a golden retriever,” Eddie smiles, tickling the underside of Cranberry’s jaw. Cranberry’s eyes are half shut, blissed out.  Buck laughs good naturedly, but the thought makes him sort of sad. People did say that about him. But he doesn’t think it’s true anymore.

BUT, the reporters and then the public absorbs THE FIRST INFO - no matter how ridiculous.  We applaud those fighting the good fight with information, it’s always too late.  As from the next item below, we have world policy being made on the basis of the lie.  

One response I have heard is to immediately emphasize and reflect, which might force people to think a bit, like this: “I heard the Israelis bombed 50 innocent people!”… “Really?  I heard they bombed 5 million innocent children holding build-a-bears! And I saw a picture!  Nice bears though. And beautiful outfits on the children, wonder where you can buy them?”  

.. And they try again: Arab channels are reporting about 21 dead in an attack by an Israeli warplane on the tent area in Mawasi of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.  No documentation, no pictures, but watch for the Al Jazeera and CNN headlines.  IDF: no such attack.

Meta AI opt out form

I just finished filling out the Meta AI opt out form and omfg that was infuriating.

The form takes so long to get to and the fact that they keep changing it only makes it worse. Because it took me like 45 minutes to fill it out i’ll leave some instructions at the end.

Just to get to the form you have to scroll through all these super long things and they’re all so hidden! When you finally get to the form it asks for your name, country, state, and email. Then it asks you some stuff about why but that’s not the part i want to talk about. In the form they ask you for a screenshot. A screenshot of what? Lemme just give you what it says:

“Attach one screenshot that shows your personal information in a response from an AI at Meta model, feature or experience.”

So let me quickly explain why this is fucking stupid. It is saying that you have to show evidence that the AI already has used your info to get your info removed. W H A T? The whole purpose of the goddamn form is to remove your info BEFORE it is used! I have no fucking words.

This whole shit show has made me seriously consider deleting my art account on instagram. This is just a form so who even knows if filling out the form will do anything? Even so I would still recommend filling out the form now especially because it seems like they’re making it harder to do every day.

Here are the instructions on how to fill out the form that I used:

Signal is the one app I broadly trust because so many cybersecurity professionals endorse it When Zuckerberg bought Whatsapp, it was a HUGE deal because hundreds of millions of Asians used to communicate safely with families throughout the diaspora and back home. So it was a titanic effort to get people's families with varying degrees of tech literacy to switch to a new and much safer app, especially when Whatsapp had so many functions that Signal still lacks, but Signal was and is so much safer. My policy is that if I won't say it in a post, I won't say it in a DM. Anything more personal or revealing is said on Signal or not at all. However, Signal is only as good as its user settings. To be maximally safe, set chats to autodelete (you can set this per contact and change it), disable screenshots as necessary, and be wise about what you say and to whom. In 2022 (I think) some people caught charges in PNW for leaked Signal screenshots that demonstrated them planning and committing radical acts. The cops got ahold of the phones, and one of which had screenshots and no PIN. That was enough to get at least two people sentenced iirc. No security measure is perfect but Signal is good enough, and the more people who use it while being informed about security culture, the safer we all are and will be.

Tech giants, like Google and Meta, have slashed diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs in 2023 despite their commitments following the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and riots.

According to data provided by job site Indeed, cited by CNBC, DEI-related job postings in 2023 have declined 44%.

In November 2023, the last full month for which data was available, DEI job postings dropped 23% year over year.

Layoffs at Google and Meta also included employees who held leadership roles in Black employee resource groups (ERGs), CNBC said.

Devika Brij, CEO of Brij the Gap Consulting, which works with tech companies’ DEI efforts, told CNBC that some companies have cut nearly 90% of their DEI budget by midyear 2023.

“When George Floyd began to become the topic of conversations, companies and executives doubled down on their commitments and here we are only a couple years later, and folks are looking for opportunities to cut those teams,” Brij said.

Melinda Briana Epler, the founder and CEO of Empovia, said that the cuts in DEI in 2023 were “stark” compared to previous years.

“Whenever there is an economic downturn in tech, some of the first budgets that are cut are in DEI, but I don’t think we’ve seen such stark contrast as this year,” Epler told CNBC.

The layoffs come just three years following the boom in DEI initiatives that came during the Black Lives Matter protests and riots.

At this time, tech companies made a commitment to the promotion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

In a June 2020 letter to Google employees, CEO Sundar Pichai vocally committed to improving support for Black workers.

“The events of the past few weeks reflect deep structural challenges,” Pichai wrote. “We’ll work closely with our Black community to develop initiatives and product ideas that support long-term solutions- and we’ll keep you updated.”

In a similar June 2020 letter to Meta employees, COO Sheryl Sandberg committed to having 30% more people of color, including 30% more Black people in leadership by 2025.

“Achieving racial justice and equity is a goal all of us share – and a goal that will take real work to achieve,” Sandberg wrote.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, a Meta spokesperson said that the tech giant remains committed to their DEI initiatives.

“Our commitment to DEI remains at the center of who we are as a company,” a Meta spokesperson said. “We continue  to intentionally design equitable and fair practices to drive progress across our people, product, policy and partnerships pillars.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, an Amazon spokesperson echoed Meta’s sentiments and said that their “DEI priorities have not changed.”

“Our DEI priorities have not changed, and we remain committed to building a more inclusive and diverse Amazon,” Margaret Callahan, a spokesperson for Amazon, said.

In a statement, Google said that their “workforce reductions” were to “sharpen” their focus.

“Our workforce reductions and company-wide efforts to sharpen our focus span the breadth of our business,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“To be absolutely clear, our commitment to this work has not changed and we invested in many new programs and partnerships this year,” the Google spokesperson said.

Big Tech Layoffs in 2023

Several tech giants have tightened their workforce in 2023 after over-hiring during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meta, Microsoft Corp., Amazon and Google-parent Alphabet Inc. have also cut thousands of jobs throughout the year.

Meta, the parent of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, cut over 10,000 jobs in May 2023.

“As I’ve talked about efficiency this year, I’ve said that part of our work will involve removing jobs — and that will be in service of both building a leaner, more technical company and improving our business performance to enable our long-term vision,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said.

Microsoft announced in Jan. 2023 that it would cut 10,000 positions.

The move, which took place at the end of the third quarter, was “in response to macroeconomic conditions and changing customer priorities,” according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  

Amazon said in early January that it would lay off more than 18,000 employees in what would be its largest workforce reduction to date.

Google parent company Alphabet Inc. announced that it cut 12,000 jobs to weather the current economy.

Google CEO Pichai said the cuts affected teams globally, including recruiting and some corporate functions as well as some engineering and products teams.

Expect DEI to become "that which shall not be named" during 2024.

Good news for the downturn in DEI nonsense, not so good for the actual productive tech side of it, although many of these companies are bloated and often wasting time on peripheral crap anyway. e.g. Twitter 1.0 focused on policing pronouns rather than removing child porn.

One troubling issue is that DEI cultists have their eye on AI. Reports of DEI downturn have been floating around in the last couple of days, but a few of them mention that DEI apparatchiks are adamant about needing to be part of the development of AI, to make sure the AI models comply with their fundamentalist religion. The same kind we've seen from Harvard, which lies, gaslights and calls people names.

Imagine Xians saying that they need to be included in the development of AI, to make sure it's infused with Xian values and biblical scripture, and you'll understand why an AI infused with intersectionality, "other ways of knowing," and hiring for diversity optics rather than merit (see: Claudine Gay) is such a concern.

Keep in mind also that many of these organizations tout their DEI bona fides in order to cover for their own larger sins. Such as Disney working with and thanking the Uyghur concentration camps in the credits for the live-action Mulan.

For such companies, DEI was always a relationship of convenience, providing cover - "wokescreen" (or "woke washing") - for their darker secrets, and DEI parasites were happy to suck millions of dollars out of them for their snakeoil. But DEI is no longer financially or politically convenient, and the "reckoning" that activists manufactured is over and done.

What’s interesting is that up until even 2008, the actions of empire (the developed world) could be and were laundered by the press before making their way to the middle- and upper-class core citizens. You could choose to know and be aware that the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were bloody, unjustified, and useless violations, or that New Orleans was abandoned and left to rot, or that the London riots weren’t just kids getting out of hand, or that quantitative easing was a scam, or any other truth, but the easiest form of learning new things was going to be the press apparatus and the press was going to stick to its only principle: defend and legitimize the authorities. TIkTok does not collect any more data on it’s users than Google, Amazon, Meta, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter etc. In fact, TikTok’s data is stored in serves on US soil using a company called Oracle.

The worst part about it is Mark Zuckerberg has paid off the government by lobbying over $20 Million to get them to squash his competition.

If China wanted to harvest our data they do not need TikTok to do that. Nothing is stopping them from collecting data from Meta and there is no proof the Chinese government has even accessed data via TikTok.

I understand government officials not having acess to TikTok on their personal devices for privacy concerns but it should include ALL social media platforms.

I have made countless friends on TikTok in the past 5 years that I’ve had my account. I have learned more than I have learned in my entire adult life. You can understand more about what’s happening in the world by following independent journalist on the app than watching the main stream news. Millions of small businesses and creators make their entire living through TikTok. We can’t let them take it away.

Ironically, TikTok has been banned in China for years. All well as Facebook, YouTube, instagram, and many other social media sites. That’s because theyre a dictatorship and who censor what information their population has access to.

Here in North America we value free speach and are proud that our internet isn’t censored. If the TikTok ban goes through what will they censor next?

Snapchat logo

This is Snapchat’s logo a popular social media platform. For me I love the ghost character as it is clean and simple however its very effective with being highly recognizable. Moreover, I like the bright colour of yellow as it is eye-catching and reminds me of pop art take for the logo. One thing I would like to see on the snapchat logo is a little cute face to make it look attractive to younger users like it use to before in 2011 however I do think that Snapchat prefers a clean finish for its logo. Additionally, I like how it does not have any writing on its logo but users known it is called snapchat I find that really inspiring for my logo but also have further understanding of how logos are unmistakeable the name and logo are connected. Even though I like the pop art reference, I think I would have changed the colour to a slightly darker shade but if they did change it I think it would have less impact. Furthermore, I believe that the snapchat logo does stand out within the social medias platformers against other social media platforms in the same market level such as Whatsapp and Messenger. Also it is very iconic with the white ghost shape with the thick black pen around it (the outline) made noticed since 2019.

The iconic Ghostface, depicted in the Snapchat logo, represents the essence of the application, and the fact that the photos in it are being deleted after the time set by a user. The ghost is a graphical reflection of the brand’s “phantom” policy.

The colour Yellow Meaning:
